I played a test version of the 360 up at a local game shop, and it is 1000x better than 07. They really went back and retooled the gameplay. They did rush out last years and it showed. This year's looks very good. I was thinking of picking up the 2K game, but with the lack of NFL license it just isn't worth paying for to me when I know I'm going to get Madden anyways.

Heh.. yeah the Pats were pretty painful to watch for a while there.. really in between getting stomped by the Bears in 86 and when Belichick took over was a dark time. I would only ammend the statement to say the Bears stomping the Pats to the Parcells area was a dark time. They were pretty consistent as far as being close to .500 even during the Carroll era and did make it to the superbowl. I wouldn't consider that a dark time.

I graduated from the Techmo Superbowl series to Madden, so I am a bit Bias. I love Madden but all time fav Football game will always be Techmo Superbowl 3. In fact one of my friends just got a SNES and is out hunting for Techmo right now.

My roommate still has his SNES and Techmo SB. Maybe one day Ill give it a run. Since I cant afford an X-360 for quite sometime I may just have to do that.

Lucky b------! I'm heading over at lunch time to get it. Luckily, there being a Best Buy across the street from my workplace, it'll be easy to do.

I doubt it...and I doubt there will be a huge demand on the original Xbox version (as opposed to 360 or PS3 or Wii)....so I think I'll be fine. There's an EB Games across the street too, so hopefully I'll be covered either way

No such luck here ... 1-2 with the Colts. At least, I will be when the Rams finish crushing me. My one victory was against the hapless Lions, though, so that's alright.
Fumble by Stephehn Jackson! Colts recover! There is hope!

Okay, so much for hope. Rams 38, Colts 22. I suck at passing.

Alright, that's a little better ... Colts 14, Texans 7. I only threw one pick this game, and I got very much better at reading defenses in the second half. This is positive.

I went and picked it up at EB Games and had to endure the, "You know, this is the last one for the original Xbox. You're going to have to upgrade hardware!"
No sh$t!

Ya know, if you'd have had a PS3, I'd be whooping up on your Packers online right now. I'm just sayin' ...

Finally got off my rear end and picked it up. I've only played one game so far as the Cardinals, and dominated the Raider 56-0!! 4 TD passes for Lienart, Boldin 1 TD, Fitzgerald 1 TD, Pope 2TD's. Pope was left wide open most of the game. Edge had 4 rushing touchdowns with his long being 70 yards. I'll probably start my franchise tomorrow after I go through and fix the rosters.

I just discovered the best thing about this game: I can create my own team, then start a Franchise game where I replace the Patriots with my team, summarily existing the existence of their team and all of their players from the league. Yeah.

Yeah. Everyone wants to emulate the Patriots...deep down inside, Manning wanted to Brady...then he crushed my soul when the Colts beat us to go to the Super Bowl...this year we're taking it back!!!!!!!!

You Pats fans are cute. You know your boys haven't beaten the Colts since the '04 playoffs, right? EDIT: I suppose I should add something substantive to this thread, huh? Building a team was really fun. I did a fantasy draft (without the legends), and got the last pick in the first round (boo!). I ended up with a pretty decent team, though. I had Clinton Portis in the backfield, with Larry Fitzgerald, TO, and Tony Gonzales as my receivers. I took Jamarcus Russel late in the draft to chuck the ball 50 yards down field to them. If I'd have thought that far ahead, I'd have taken Devin Hester, too, and had him run streaks on every single play just to see if he got behind the coverage. On defense, i kind of gave up on the line and went with a 3-4 instead. I had AJ Hawk and Lavar Arrington as my outside linebackers, and Roy Williams and Sean Taylor crushing people over the middle. I blitzed a lot. It was a good time. I got halfway through my game before I decided it was time to go to bed - but we were up on Brett Favre and the new look Bucs 21-0 before halftime, so it was working pretty well. I might redo my team a little tonight and try again.

2-1 with the Favre-less Packers (traded Favre and Robert Ferguson to Miami for Cleo Lemon and Marty Booker....just to make things challenging)
Lost narrowly to the Eagles 10-6; beat the Giants 20-13; then hammered the Chargers surprisingly. Brandon Jackson is a stud so far, at RB.
