Glee. This'll be the first sports game I've ever bought where my favorite team comes in as one of the teams in the quick play option.
It looks pretty good - the weapons for the individual player seems like a very cool addition to the game, online play should be easy over the PSN or XBox Live, and the graphics are jaw dropping. Me likey.

Looking forward to it too....I always buy Madden, even if they don't do much year-to-year in the way of enhancements.....I was glad to see they are apparently going ahead with one more year of making it for the regular Xbox.
It's also coming out for Macintosh starting this year, so once I get an Intel-based one, I'll be getting that.
Glory days!

Bleh. Madden is old. I got the XBox 360 to play Madden in HD. It really wasn't that good. The graphics were great but everything else, bleh. I'll just play Overlord until I'm ready for Two Worlds to come out, assuming they ever actually release it.

I had gotten the impression that Madden for 360 was all look....and actually less features than the original...which is lame. I'll take all the features over it being super-pretty.
That, finances, etcetera all contributed to me just not planning on a 360 this year.

Madden 07, from what I've read, had more features on the older consoles. With the new version, though, they've remedied that, and everything that's in the PS2/XBOX versions is in the PS3/360 versions.

I picked up All-Pro Football 2k8 this weekend. Aside from a questionable kicking mechanic (no meter), I love it. Haven't enjoyed Madden's next gen offerings so far.

I would actually probably get that this year if it wasn't for the Colts winning the Super Bowl. This Madden's like a collector's edition for me now.

Yep, due to EA wanting to get their sport franchises out on the next-gen games as soon as possible, they released them with less features than the current gen versions. And yet they charged more for it.

I haven't really enjoyed Madden since the Sega Saturn, to be honest.. I think its too big play oriented, which makes for lousy stats. I tend to FIFA and the "street' games (which at least are not SUPPOSED to be realistic) these days. I can imagine if Manning is on the cover BDS will by 5 of them though

No, he's not on the cover, thank goodness. But the Colts are the champs! They'll be one of the quick-play options! That is insanely cool, right there.

Yeah, I suppose that's Ok... The Pats have been there several times, so I guess I find it a bit, well, typical

Heh.. yeah the Pats were pretty painful to watch for a while there.. really in between getting stomped by the Bears in 86 and when Belichick took over was a dark time.

So I suppose that getting consistently stomped by the Colts now is a lot better then, eh? ;D

Did EA decide who's on the front cover yet? I always hear about the Madden Curse, which affects the player or team who appears on the cover every year.

My friend who has Vince Young as his keeper in my fantasy league was pissed when he heard that Vince was on the cover. I was hoping for LT2, so he wouldn't dominate this year.
