Daytondave: Hey, fans, welcome to Wednesday Night Warfare! Daytondave and the boys of Heartland Championship Wrestling are back to give you another terrific show here tonight. We have two more match-ups from our Team Challenge Series here tonight! We'll see all four of the first-round winners hit the mats right here in Warren, Ohio to see who will move on to the winners' bracket final! Before we get started tonight, we need to announce a change in the roster of the Nation of Honor. NWA World Heavyweight Champion TAKESHI MORISHIMA has withdrawn from the competition in order to focus on defending the belt. In his place, the Italian legend ILIO DiPAOLO will be part of the team!

DiPaolo outmanuvered Kingston throughout this match, until Eddie took the bout to the floor. The New York tough guy gave Ilio a pounding outside the ring, but DiPaolo survived the onslaught and eked out a hard-fought victory.

Daytondave: Now THAT is impressive, fans. The Nation of Honor is rolling through this competition without breaking a sweat. Next up, we have two rugged squads squaring off for the right to face off against this Nation in the winners' bracket final!


The scene shifts backstage, where JIMMY JACOBS stands in a darkened room. 'M' (the wrestler formerly known as KIP JAMES) is seated on a wooden chair in front of him. TYLER BLACK and BRODIE LEE stand over 'M'.

Jacobs: The journey continues.... 'M'... and your tormentors are accumulating. Somewhere out there... BG JAMES lies bleeding... and plotting. One victory, 'M', one battle, does not decide the war. BG is alive and he vows to destroy you if you remain so weak and so helpless. And now, 'M', you have a new enemy. This DRAKE YOUNGER has tried to strike a blow against The Awakening, 'M'. I trusted you to eliminate him and you have failed me... so far... do not fail me again!


Daytondave: Fans, that is one twisted dude! You may recall the fracas from last week when The Awakening got into it with Younger and the other members of the House of Hardcore. That scene could get really ugly, and fast. Let's get back to action!



HOUSE OF HARDCORE vs. FILTHY BEASTS

THE SANDMAN vs. CHUCK TAYLOR
Sandman mugged Taylor at the opening bell and pummeled him without mercy, pinning him in under two minutes!

WINNER: THE SANDMAN

BLOODLUST (DRAKE YOUNGER & JUSTIN CREDIBLE) vs. THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS (SCOTTY VORTEKZ & DUSTIN LEE)
To no one's surprise, this match turned ugly in a hurry. The Dragons dazzled the crowd, executing the Dragon's Breath on Credible and sending him backpedalling. This led him to the Singapore Cane, which he used to wail on Dustin and get himself disqualified.

WINNERS: (via disqualification): THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS
House of Hardcore 1, Filthy Beasts 1

After the decision, Bloodlust and the Dragons continued to scuffle on the arena floor. As Dustin Lee and Justin Credible had a shoving match, members of both teams stared each other down. Without warning, 'M' dashed to ringside and jumped DRAKE YOUNGER from behind! Younger and 'M' brawled furiously through the arena. JIMMY JACOBS followed 'M', cheering him on, but Younger refused to back down and the fight escalated. In amazement, the remaining members of both the House of Hardcore and the Filthy Beasts stopped their fighting and looked on as Todd Sinclair along with other HCW officials struggled to get the fracas under control. Finally, Younger and 'M' were pulled apart and order was restored.


Daytondave: What a brawl! Kip James, or 'M', or whatever, picked the wrong dude to try and intimidate. But nothing was settled here tonight, so I'm putting these two into a hardcore match this Saturday night at Havoc!

The fans cheer for Daytondave's announcement! Todd Sinclair finally manages to restore order in the ring and calls for the bell for the final match of the evening.


SABU vs. ERICK STEVENS
In the wake of the brawl, neither squad was in any mood for nonsense as the rubber match went down. Stevens came on with characteristic intensity, plastering Sabu with suplexes and nearly gaining a pinfall with the Choo Choo splash. Sabu took the action out of the ring, where referee Sinclair gave great leeway. Sabu pelted Stevens with the Arabian Facebuster, but Stevens kicked out from the pin attempt and screamed in Sabu's face! Sabu took offense, and blasted Stevens a second time. Stevens was lacerated, but again kicked out of the pinfall and screamed at Sabu. Sabu continued the onslaught, whipping Stevens to the canvas with a hurracanrana and finally gaining the three-count.

WINNER: SABU

FINAL RESULT: House of Hardcore 2, Filthy Beasts 1


After the match, Sabu looked down at the bloodied and beaten Stevens, and in a sign of respect, helped Erick to his feet. Erick raised the hand of Sabu to acknowledge the victory.


Daytondave: What a war! These two gave everything they had- sweat, blood, and tears. I think both men came away with a new measure of respect for the other, especially after Stevens kicked out of TWO Arabian Facebusters! But in the end, the House of Hardcore moves ahead in the winners' bracket. A sensational match to top off an outstanding night of wrestling. The show opens with HCW Commissioner COUSIN LUKE in the ring, alongside JR JAMES and DAYTONDAVE. The tune, "Slow Ride" by Foghat blares over the sound system as the fans cheer and chant for the beginning of the pay-per-view.

Luke: Howdy! How y'all doin'? We shore are glad you done made yore way to the show tonight!

JR: No question about that, Luke! Heartland Championship Wrestling is hotter than ever! We're less than one month away from the first Supercard in Heartland history- FREEDOM FESTIVAL 2009 will take place right up the road in Philadelphia! And tonight, we have a very special pay-per-view broadcast- "The Road to Freedom"!

Daytondave: You got that right, my man! Fans, tonight's show is LOADED from the opening bell to the main event. And I can't WAIT to see the main event match-up tonight. JR has put together an awesome tournament for the United States Championship. And right here in Pittsburgh, this evening, that title will be decided when THE DESTROYER squares off against NICK BOCKWINKEL. I know how you fans are- everybody loves an underdog- but for my money, Bockwinkel has been unstoppable and I see him bringing home the gold.

JR: That remains to be seen, Daytondave- but first-

JR is interrupted by a commotion from the top of the ring ramp. WILDMAN BUTCH MICHAELS emerges through the curtain and makes his way to the ring.

Daytondave: Wildman! What are you doing here? Dude, we threw your sorry carcass out of Warfare once and for all!

Wildman: I know... but I need this job... can't I have my job back?

Daytondave: You faked an injury and you tried to sue me out of business! Why should I bring you back?

Wildman: Because... sir... I need this job! I have a pregnant wife at home...

Daytondave: And they said it couldn't be done!

JR: Lighten up, Daytondave. Can't you cut the guy some slack?

Daytondave: You feel sorry for this scam artist? Fine, YOU give him a job!

JR: Hmmm... I might be able to find something for him.

Daytondave: Well, I vote NO. That's one for and one against. Mr. Commissioner, that gives you the deciding vote!

Luke: Y'all want my vote? I vote that we give this here Butch feller a nice bonus! Miss Bertha, bring ol' Butch here his bonus!

Wildman: A bonus? Mr. Commissioner, you're too kind!

MISS BERTHA emerges from backstage carrying a metal bucket. Wildman looks confused, until Bertha arrives at ringside and dumps a full load of hog slop over his head!

Luke: Yee-haw! Butch, we been savin' that fer ya fer the past three weeks! Now git on up outta here! Nobody likes a cheat!

Bertha grabs Wildman by the lapel and hoists him over her shoulder. Wildman is head kicking and squealing all the way up the aisle as Bertha hauls him away from the ring and exits through the curtain.

JR: Problem solved, I suppose. Now, let's head to the ring for tonight's opening match!


DAIZEE HAZE vs. SARA DEL REY
(Referee: Todd Sinclair)
Daizee electrified the crowd to open the show, dropping her larger foe with a tilt-a-whirl headscissors followed by a sensational missile dropkick! Sara went to the arena floor and punished Haze until Daizee reversed an Irish Whip and sent Sara careening into the security railing! With the fans screaming, Daizee hauled the Death Rey back into the ring and planted her with the mind trip to earn a spectacular pinfall!

WINNER: DAIZEE HAZE
(Daizee pinned Sara with the Mind Trip)


Daytondave: The fans are going wild for this little spitfire! Daizee Haze has won the hearts of the Heartland with a gutsy performance! Sara is frustrated, but this longstanding rivalry will continue and I am sure their paths will cross again!

JR: No question about that, Daytondave. But the mood in Mellon Arena is about to change. The man they call 'M' is headed to the ring for his confrontation against the 'Psycho Shooter', DRAKE YOUNGER. This situation could get ugly indeed.



'M' vs. DRAKE YOUNGER
(Referee: Joe Kopasz)
With Justin Credible and Jimmy Jacobs at ringside, 'M' and Younger fought hard, inside the ring and out. As the match wore on, the strength advantage of 'M' became the deciding factor. 'M' executed several powerslams and a punishing Cobra Clutch slam to stun Younger. Drake survived the Fame-Asser, but walked right into a massive clothesline by 'M' which resulted in the pin.

WINNER: 'M'

After the pinfall, Jacobs slapped the mat and demanded that 'M' continue to attack Younger! But Credible was quick to dash into the ring and assist his partner, preventing any further damage. 'M' and Credible exchanged a flurry of punches until Justin finally delivered a crushing lariat which sent 'M' tumbling out of the ring! Younger and Credible departed from the ring without any further damage. Jacobs pulled 'M' from the floor roughly and slapped him across the back of the head, berating him as they departed the ring area.


JR: Daytondave, what on earth is that? Kip James is a tough guy and a talented wrestler- and look what has become of him! What is going on over there at Warfare?

Daytondave: Your guess is as good as mine, JR. I sign the new talent, but who knew what kind of fruits and nuts we were bringing in? But now, JR, wait until you see the showcase of new talent on display in this next contest- a Battle Royal!

Daytondave: Matt Jackson?!? Who is this guy? Where did he come from? I know nothing about his background or his credentials, but dude showed some agility and a ton of heart coming out on top in the Battle Royal! Dude will also need a lot of heart to survive a match with THE MISSING LINK!


KING KONG BUNDY (w/ JIM CORNETTE) vs. KILLER KOWALSKI (w/ SHERRI MARTEL)
(Referee: Charles Robinson)
Bundy was backing down from the opening bell as the imposing Kowalski took him to the woodshed. Early on, Kowalski went for the claw hold, and Bundy bailed out of the ring. Kowalski followed, but Cornette grabbed his tennis racket and threatened to waffle the Killer! This brought the Commissioner COUSIN LUKE out of his sky box to interrupt the proceedings.

Luke: Jimmy Cornette! You low-down coward! I ain't fixing to watch you injure another one of our rasslers. You done wrong to Sherri and you done wrong to Harley Race. You wanna fight? You go ahead. This here is now officially a Mixed Tag Team Match!

The fans erupt with cheers as Cornette goes berserk. Sherri shows no emotion, but her eyes narrow as she climbs to the ring apron and glares at Cornette.


MIXED TAG TEAM MATCH: KING KONG BUNDY & JIM CORNETTE vs. KILLER KOWALSKI & SHERRI MARTEL
No sooner had the match restarted than Kowalski immediately clamped the Claw Hold back onto Bundy! Sherri chased Cornette from the ring to prevent him from rescuing his man. As Sherri chased Cornette away from the ring, Bundy was forced to submit to the claw!

WINNERS: KILLER KOWALSKI & SHERRI MARTEL
(Kowalski forced Bundy to submit to the Claw Hold)

After the decision, Sherri chased Cornette, who fled through the curtain. Kowalski quickly came to the aid of Sherri, leaving the ring to come to her side. Humiliated, Bundy grabbed a steel chair from ringside and smashed it across the back of Kowalski! But the Killer was unfazed, turning to look at Bundy with rage in his eyes. Bundy dropped the chair and backed away, retreating up the ring ramp as Kowalski pointed and glared. Kowalski grabbed the microphone and shouted at the departing Bundy.

Kowalski: Bundy- you disgust me! You attack a woman, you jump me from behind, and you can't stand face to face and fight me like a man. Your day will come, my friend- don't you doubt that!

The fans cheer as Kowalski takes Sherri by the arm and leads her away from the ring.


JR: No question, Sherri is in good hands alongside the benevolent giant Kowalski. Bundy is still reeling from the claw hold- and worse yet, from his own inability to hurt the Killer, even with a vicious chair shot! I don't know what the future holds for these two men, but I don't think we've seen their final encounter. Now, let's move ahead- our Main Event match is next!



MAIN EVENT: UNITED STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
NICK BOCKWINKEL vs. THE DESTROYER
(Referee: Nick Patrick)

Relishing his role as underdog, Destroyer came out powerfully and took the fight to the heavily favored Bockwinkel. Destroyer took Bockwinkel to the mat and trapped him in a painful single-leg Boston Crab! After a struggle, Bockwinkel made it to the bottom rope and forced Nick Patrick to break the hold. Bockwinkel then attempted to slide under the bottom rope and seek the safety of the arena floor, but Destroyer pursued him and the battle continued. Bockwinkel attempt to slam Destroyer into the ring post, but the Destroyer blocked the move and sent Bockwinkel head-first against the steel ring steps! Bockwinkel was woozy, and Destroyer pitched him back into the ring. The "Intelligent, Sensational One" lived up to his billing, immediately wrapping Bockwinkel into the vaunted Figure-Four leglock. This time, Bockwinkel was unable to reach the ropes, and was forced to give it up!

WINNER: THE DESTROYER

DESTROYER CAPTURES THE UNITED STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP


JR: Ladies and gentlemen, history has been made here in Pittsburgh! The Destroyer has defeated Nick Bockwinkel to capture the United States Heavyweight Championship! This man overcame tremendous odds to win the tournament! He put aside BOBO BRAZIL, GIANT BABA, JOHNNY VALENTINE, and now NICK BOCKWINKEL- a veritable Hall of Fame collection of talent! And now, Destroyer takes his rightful place as the top man in Old School!

Daytondave: I gotta hand it to you, JR. Your guys put on a heckuva match! Give Destroyer credit- he took the fight to Bockwinkel and brought home the gold. Kudos to Destroyer and to all the men of Old School Saturday Night for an outstanding tournament!

JR: No question about that, Daytondave. A tremendous way to cap off a terrific night of Heartland Championship Wrestling action! Daytondave: Hey, fans, welcome back to Wednesday Night Warfare! The best-looking General Manager in the wrestling business is back with another great night of Heartland Wrestling! We are here live in Geauga County- why, you ask? This is the home of the legendary LEE KEMP- a wrestling prodigy, would-be Olympian, 3-time NCAA Champion, and holder of a victory over DAN GABLE himself! We're here on the heels of a tremendously successful Heartland Havoc XXVII, and tonight the Team Challenge Series will be back in full swing! But before we get the action going, we have a special announcement from the boss-man himself!

Luke: Thanks, Daytondave! Fans, we done talked about it. Now, we're gonna git it done! On the Fourth of July, we're gonna have us the Heartland's first ever Supercard! Freedom Festival 2009 is gonna happen over in Philadelphia. And the excitin' thing is, Daytondave, we gonna have ALL SEVEN HCW TITLES on the line!

Corino showed no mercy on his young protege, pulling out all the stops in the opening match. After a vicious mule kick to the groin and a stunning chair shot, Corino was able to put Landell away.

Prichard encountered some early difficulties against the Backseat Boyz, but Candido finally tagged in a house afire and sent both Boyz sprawling. The flurry proved decisive when Candido put Trent down for the three-count.

KONNAN vs. MIKE QUACKENBUSH
With the contest already decided, both Konnan and Quack went full throttle in the final match. Quack controlled much of the action, getting a couple of near falls after a barrage of high-impact manuvers. Konnan left the ring in an effort to stem the tide, and when Quack followed, Konnan tossed a chair into his path and the diving Quackenbush smashed face-first onto the steel. Konnan capitalized, wearing down the stunned Quackenbush to put him away for the victory.

WINNER: KONNAN

Daytondave: So, fans, it's a clean sweep for the Icons. Say goodbye to the New Sensations. That squad was 0-6 for the Team Challenge! The Icons will be back next week to face THE FILTHY BEASTS for a chance to survive in the losers' bracket.

In a stunning upset, Ultramantis outfoxed his enormous opponent and pinned him cleanly!

JIMMY JACOBS & 'M' vs. DELIRIOUS & NECRO BUTCHER
Furious animosity was the order of the day in this match. Jacobs was bent on destroying the affable lunatics, and 'M' (the wrestler formerly known as KIP JAMES) was doing his bidding at every turn. Not to be outdone, Necro and Delirious fought back. Delirious left 'M' dazed and confused with his antics, pummeling him with clotheslines in the corner and torturing him with the Cobra Stretch. When Jacobs and Necro tagged in, the match went nuclear! Necro pounded Jacobs from pillar to post. Jacobs bailed out and picked up his railroad spike, jabbing at Necro on the arena floor. But Necro proved himself even crazier, disarming Jacobs and driving the spike into Jimmy's left arm. Joe Kopasz immediately called for the bell as 'M' and his compadres came to Jacobs' aid.

WINNER (via disqualification): JIMMY JACOBS
(Necro disqualified for stabbing Jacobs with a steel spike)

TYLER BLACK vs. THE MISSING LINK
In the chaos after the tag team match, Link became agitated and lost control! Tyler nailed the Ultimate-X Champion with some acrobatic moves, sending Link to the floor. Link immediately went for a steel chair and laid out Black! Once again, Joe Kopasz pulled the trigger and disqualified Link, awarding the match- and the Team Challenge- to The Awakening.

WINNER (via disqualification): TYLER BLACK
(Link disqualified for use of a steel chair)

FINAL RESULT: The Awakening 2, Lunacy Unlimited 1

Following the match, chaos erupted! Link continued swinging the chair wildly as Tyler desperately tried to squirm away. Just as Link was ready to smash Black with his chair, BRODIE LEE stepped into the ring and intercepted him! Brodie levelled Link with a huge boot to the face and began pummeling him on the canvas. Just as quickly, Link rolled over on top and pounded away! Link and Lee brawled all around the ring, exchanging haymakers.

Meanwhile, Jacobs grabbed his metal spike and began to pursue Necro Butcher. But Delirious flew from the ring apron and plastered Jacobs with a flying knee smash! Jacobs went down hard and the metal spike went flying. Necro recovered the spike and came after Jacobs! Jimmy was helpless on the arena floor as Necro moved in with the spike, but 'M' quickly grabbed Necro by the hair and threw him to the floor. 'M' then jumped on Jacobs, covering him and protecting him as Necro got to his feet. Necro stood over 'M', with the spike ready to attack, but 'M' held his ground. Necro threw the spike to the floor, the spat on 'M' and walked away from ringside with his fellow Lunatics.


Daytondave: Whoa! That was incredible! Fans, I believe that Kip James- or should I say, 'M', just saved Jimmy Jacobs' life! 'M' was prepared to take the spike for his new mentor- and thank heavens for that, because who knows what sort of damage that Necro Butcher may have decided to inflict. Now that the dust has settled, The Awakening has won this Team Challenge and moves on in the tournament. It was a tainted victory- both wins by disqualification- but The Awakening moves on and Lunacy Unlimited has been eliminated. What an exciting night here in Chardon! JR: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to another night of Heartland Championship Wrestling! HCW continues on the road to Philadelphia and our 4th of July spectacular, Freedom Festival 2009! I am sure that you have heard the announcement that all seven Heartland Championships will be on the line! Representing Old School Saturday Night, the United States Heavyweight Champion, THE DESTROYER, will be defending his title. Over the next three weeks on Old School, the challenger will be chosen! Likewise, a tag team tournament is already under way to determine who will head to Philadelphia to challenge BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONG for the United States Tag Team Championship! Now, let's head to the ring for tonight's opening contest!

GIANT BABA vs. MASKED SUPERSTAR (w/ SLICK)
It was a monumental struggle between these legends. Baba controlled much of the action, but timely intervention by Slick kept the match going. Superstar responded with the flurry, but Baba survived the onslaught and finished off a hard-fought victory.

JR: An epic battle indeed! Baba records the victory and keeps hope alive for a title match at the Freedom Festival.



NICK BOCKWINKEL vs. DON LEO JONATHAN
The giant Mormon gave Bockwinkel some trouble with his overwhelming size and strength, but Bockwinkel managed to solve the big guy and put him away cleanly.

JR: No question, Bockwinkel has been one of the hottest wrestlers in the Old School the past few months. He will be a formidable foe for anyone with an eye towards the U.S. Title match!



THE VACHON BROTHERS (MAD DOG & PAUL w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV) vs. THE VALIANT BROTHERS
A bitter brawl took place between the Valiants and the Vachons! The intensity went through the roof when Mad Dog took Johnny outside the ring and attacked him with a microphone cord! A brawl between Jimmy and Butcher had Charles Robinson distracted while Mad Dog did his damage, choking down Johnny until LARRY HENNIG sprinted in from the locker room to come to Johnny's aid! Larry flattened the Mad Dog with a stunning right hand, rescuing Johnny from his predicament, but Robinson saw the infraction and disqualified the Valiants!

WINNERS: (via disqualification): THE VACHON BROTHERS


After the disqualification, the Valiants turned their frustrations against Larry Hennig! Johnny grabbed the microphone.

Johnny: Hennig, you big ugly idiot! You cost us that match- and a shot at the titles! Sucker, you need to keep your feuding to yourself and stay out of our business!

Hennig: Valiant, you're pathetic. Another 15 seconds and you would have been out cold on the ground. You're just lucky I was here to save your butt.

Johnny: What a load of crap. Me and Jimmy were doing just fine. We don't need anybody watching our backs- especially the likes of you! Did you just get your head split open by those doofuses? If that's your idea of protection, no thanks.

Hennig: Listen, dipstick, don't get mouthy with me, or I'll-

Johnny: You'll what? Bleed all over me?

Hennig: I'll ram this boot so far up your back side you'll be walking like a duck for the rest of your life!

Johnny: You don't scare me, nitwit. How about you and me in that ring next week?

Hennig: You got it, loser.


JR: What a bizarre twist, ladies and gentlemen! After the Vachon Brothers are awarded the disqualification victory, Larry Hennig and Johnny Valiant get into a disagreement! The challenge appears to be on for next week- Johnny Valiant versus Larry Hennig as the passions continue to run high in the Heartland! But now, we need to get back to the business at hand. Let's return to the ring for our next contest!




JOHNNY VALENTINE vs. JIMMY 'SUPERFLY' SNUKA
Superfly electrified the fans in Alttona with his daredevil tactics, repeatedly risking life and limb to gain the advantage against his formidable opponent. In the end, Snuka was his own worst enemy, as Valentine caught him on the turnbuckle and sent him crashing to the canvas with a powerful Superplex which turned the momentum and set Johnny up for an improbable comeback victory.

WINNER: JOHNNY VALENTINE

JR: No question, an outstanding victory for Johnny Valentine. He may not electrify the fans the way that Snuka does, but at the end of the day, more often than not, he finds a way to get his hand raised.



THE IRON SHEIK (w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV) vs. KING KONG BUNDY (w/ JIM CORNETTE)
The most hated man in the Heartland, King Kong Bundy, took to the mats with a lot on his mind tonight, and it proved costly. As Bundy attempted to get the match going, KILLER KOWALSKI appeared at ringside! Bundy was clearly distracted, and the wily Sheik outfoxed the big man, tying him in knots and pinning him after a wicked Sidewinder.

WINNER: IRON SHEIK

JR: Well! A measure of justice has been served against the diabolical Bundy. What goes around, comes around, indeed. In a highly entertaining opening bout, Corino somehow managed to survive two of Taylor's invisible grenades before falling prey to an aerial flurry which spelled his demise.

The Dragons dominated the early stages of this contest, beating down Tom Prichard, with a little help from ERICK STEVENS on the outside of the ring. But Prichard managed to survive the assault and tag in Candido, who took over on Dustin Lee. Despite the efforts of his partner Scotty, Dustin was unable to mount a comeback or escape from the ring before Candido put him away cleanly.

KONNAN vs. ERICK STEVENS
In a dramatic and deciding third match, Konnan and Stevens brought the house down with a hard-hitting and competitive match. Konnan controlled much of the action, but Stevens showed his resilience and absorbed as much punishment as Konnan could administer. Stevens finally escaped from the ring, where he got the best of Konnan, whipping him into the steel security railing. With the stakes so high, Todd Sinclair allowed the match to continue. Stevens rode the momentum to victory and the Beasts moved on!

WINNER: ERICK STEVENS

Daytondave: What a finish! Fans, Erick Stevens really proved himself in that match. He came through in the clutch with incredible toughness and earned that victory- not just for himself, but for all the Filthy Beasts. That was an awesome Team Challenge- and that wasn't even the top of the card! These next to squads have some seriously combustible elements coming into the fray, and lord only knows HOW this confrontation will play out!



SWEET 'N SOUR, INCORPORATED vs. THE AWAKENING

EDDIE KINGSTON vs. BRODIE LEE
The intensity level remained at a fever pitch as Kingston and Lee squared off to open the Team Challenge. Heavy lumber flew early and often as the two gladiators exchanged haymakers and powerful boots. Brodie nearly kicked Kingston's head off with a big boot, but Eddie shook it off and drilled Lee with a crushing Yakuza kick in the corner! The larger Lee prevailed in the power struggle, overwhelming Kingston to the point of exhaustion. But Eddie reached back for a little something extra, slipping out of the ring and tossing a steel chair into the path of the big trucker as he leapt from the ring apron! The chair caught Brodie flush in the face, and stunned him, to allow Kingston to pitch him back into the ring and finish him with a devastating Lariat!

Daytondave: That was intense! Now it's time for the tag team match. You may remember last week, when the man they call 'M' - the wrestler formerly known as KIP JAMES- saved the life of his mentor, JIMMY JACOBS. We have a video of that incident to show you before our next match!

Delirious flew from the ring apron and plastered Jacobs with a flying knee smash! Jacobs went down hard and the metal spike went flying. Necro recovered the spike and came after Jacobs! Jimmy was helpless on the arena floor as Necro moved in with the spike, but 'M' quickly grabbed Necro by the hair and threw him to the floor. 'M' then jumped on Jacobs, covering him and protecting him as Necro got to his feet. Necro stood over 'M', with the spike ready to attack, but 'M' held his ground. Necro threw the spike to the floor, the spat on 'M' and walked away from ringside with his fellow Lunatics.




CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI & BUFF BAGWELL vs. JIMMY JACOBS & 'M'
After the events of the previous Challenge, it was almost eerie to watch Jacobs and 'M' in the ring. Working as a unit, the two men simply dismantled their foes. Despite his injury, Jacobs led the effort, and 'M' moved in and out of the ring to spell his mentor whenever necessary. Both Bagwell and Claudio took significant punishment, until it was Claudio who finally met defeat.

WINNERS: JIMMY JACOBS & 'M'

COWBOY BOB ORTON vs. TYLER BLACK
The final match of the night saw the veteran Bob Orton square off against the dynamic young Tyler Black with all the marbles on the table! Both men came aggressively, Orton with heavy-handed brawling tactics and Black with hard-hitting daredevil abandon. Black scored some impressive flying manuvers to stun Orton, pitching him to the arena floor and nailing him with a slingshot plancha! But Orton kept his composure and side-stepped Tyler's attempt at a flying double axe-handle, sending him crashing against the security railing. Both men were staggered, and Tyler went for broke, mounting the top turnbuckle again, where Orton caught him and set him up for a thunderous Superplex which enabled him to catch the pinfall!

WINNER: COWBOY BOB ORTON

FINAL RESULT: Sweet 'N Sour 2, The Awakening 1


Daytondave: What a performance by both men! Young Tyler Black threw caution to the wind in that match and nearly pulled it out for The Awakening! But in the end, Orton had the brains and the cool to come through in the clutch. Chalk up another victory for Sweet 'N Sour! They will be back in action next week to take on THE FILTHY BEASTS. Also next week, the winner's bracket of the Team Challenge will be decided as THE NATION OF HONOR takes on THE HOUSE OF HARDCORE. The Team Challenge Series is roaring to the finish line, and fans, there are some awesome matches in store for you in the next two weeks. And don't forget to come out on Saturday night for Old School, where the tournament to decide the number one contender for the United States Heavyweight Championship rolls on. JR: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Old School Saturday Night! It's 6:05 pm on Saturday Night, so it must be time for the superstars of Heartland Championship Wrestling to hit the mats! We have a big night of action in store for you tonight as we continue on the road to Philadelphia and our Fourth of July Supershow, Freedom Festival 2009! All seven HCW Championships will be up for grabs on that night, and the challengers are lining up to see who will earn their shot at the gold! We've got a HUGE tag team match for you tonight, and some key singles bouts as the superstars of Old School jockey for position in an effort to bring down the United States Heavyweight Champion, THE DESTROYER. And to top it all off tonight, we'll see a Special Challenge Match between JOHNNY VALIANT and LARRY HENNIG! Now, let's head to the ring for tonight's opening contest!

KING KONG BUNDY (w/ JIM CORNETTE) vs. DON LEO JONATHAN
Bundy took no prisoners in the opening contest, pounding on Jonathan from the opening bell and putting him down for a five-count.

WINNER: KING KONG BUNDY
(Bundy pinned Jonathan with an Avalanche)

After the decision, KILLER KOWALSKI appeared at the top of the ring ramp! Bundy looked shocked and disgusted as Kowalski spoke.

Kowalski: Bundy... there is no escape... the end is near for you!

Bundy: Get over it Kowalski. That bald chick Sherri ain't worth the hassle, believe me!

Kowalski scowled and began to move menacingly down the aisle. Bundy stood his ground, arms folded defiantly across his chest. Without warning, SHERRI MARTEL slipped into the ring behind Bundy and Cornette! Sherri slid a steel chair into the ring and waffled Cornette over the back of the head! Cornette went down in a heap. Bundy turned and grabbed Sherri by the throat, but Sherri clawed his eyes viciously and escaped from his grasp! Before Bundy could pursue her, Kowalski hit the ring and the fists flew! As Kowalski pummeled Bundy, he backpedalled, then grabbed Sherri and hurled her into Kowalski! Kowalski narrowly missed hitting her with a massive haymaker, allowing Bundy to grab Cornette and scramble to safety.

Kowalski: You haven't seen the last of me, Bundy!

Bundy: Wanna bet?

Kowalski: Don't be a sucker, Bundy! We're already booked for next week! You and me- LAST MAN STANDING!

Bundy's jaw drops as the crowd roars its approval.


JR: That's right, ladies and gentlemen! Next week- live- from Reading, Pennsylvania- Old School will feature a Last Man Standing match between Killer Kowalski and King Kong Bundy! This feud will come to a head right here, one week from tonight! But the action has only just begun, folks. Let's head back to the ring for our next contest.


JIMMY 'SUPERFLY' SNUKA vs. MASKED SUPERSTAR (w/ SLICK)
Superstar stunned the Harrisburg crowd, smacking Snuka with a vicious knee to the face at the turnbuckle and dropping him for an upset victory!

JR: That was quite a shocker! Barely five minutes into the match, and the beloved Superfly gets his shoulders pinned! No question, fans, anything can happen in the unpredictable world of professional wrestling. Now, how about tonight's important tag team showdown? The winner of this match will have it out against THE VACHON BROTHERS for a shot at the United States Tag Team Championship!



THE ROAD WARRIORS vs. THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (w/ JIM CORNETTE)
In a very intense match, the Midnights opened with a flurry, double-teaming on Animal and nearly putting him down. But Animal roared back, pitching Lane out of the ring and pummeling him. When Jim Cornette interfered, Animal knocked him to the floor! This brought KING KONG BUNDY out of the locker room to defend his manager, but Hawk viciously slammed Bundy and Lane together. The dull thud of skull on skull echoed through the arena and both men went down in a heap. Hawk hoisted Lane back into the ring, and the Roadies destroyed him with the Doomsday Device and pinned him decisively.

WINNERS: THE ROAD WARRIORS

JR: Indeed, the Road Warriors dominated that match! But, they still have the Vachons and the Armstrongs to contend with before they can lay claim to the United States Tag Team titles. Ladies and gentlemen, our next two matches are vitally important! These two winners will square off next weekfor the right to meet United States Champion THE DESTROYER at Freedom Festival!



NICK BOCKWINKEL vs. THE IRON SHEIK (w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV)
Bockwinkel battled brilliantly, surviving a loaded boot from the Sheik and battling back with a vengeance. After nearly putting Sheik's lights out with the Sleeper, he dropped his man with a back suplex and scored the pin.

WINNER: NICK BOCKWINKEL

JR: A fine victory for Bockwinkel. No question, his Sleeper is a dangerous weapon. Even when he is not successful in submitting his foe, the Sleeper will take them out of their game, and Bockwinkel has half a hundred ways to finish a man in that predicament. But the handsome man from Beverly Hills will have his work cut out for him next week, when he meets the winner of tonight's next match-up.



GIANT BABA vs. JOHNNY VALENTINE
An epic battle between two legends took place as Baba and Valentine went to war. Baba used his superior size to frustrate Valentine at the outset, chopping him down and dropping his massive leg across the chest to knock the wind out of his foe. But Valentine refused to be bowed, reversing a turnbuckle charge into a roll-up and a near-fall! Valentine followed with a thunderous Atomic Skullcrusher, but it was not enough to slay the Giant. In frustration, Valentine left the ring and smashed Baba into the steel security railing, earning himself a disqualification.

WINNER (via disqualification): GIANT BABA


JR: A disappointing outcome for both men, indeed. I am sure that a gentleman such as Baba regrets gaining the victory by DQ in that situation, but Charles Robinson has an obligation to keep these matches on the straight and narrow. So, it will be Bockwinkel vs. Baba next week for the right to head to Philadelphia! Now, ladies and gentlemen, to conclude tonight's action, we have the grudge match between LARRY HENNIG and JOHNNY VALIANT, in the wake of last week's events. As you may recall, it was Hennig who came to the assistance of Valiant during the tag match against THE VACHON BROTHERS, but in so doing, Larry costs the Valiants a shot at the U.S. Tag Titles. So tonight, these two men will take to the squared circle to settle their differences.



SPECIAL CHALLENGE: NO DISQUALIFICATION
LARRY HENNIG vs. JOHNNY VALIANT
The brawling between these proud men was out of control! Valiant pounded away on Hennig, mercilessly beating him to the mat. But Hennig fought back furiously, pitching Valiant to the floor and wailing on him with a steel chair! At this point, JR JAMES interrupted the match!

JR: Gentlemen! Gentlemen! You wanna fight like maniacs? You want to destroy each other? Well, have at it! This is now a LAST MAN STANDING MATCH!

The brawling continued! Hennig came after Valiant full fury, but Johnny was consistently a step quicker. Valiant smartly went to work on Hennig's lower back, repeatedly dropping him with the Spinning Neckbreaker. As Hennig wore down, Valiant tortured him with a Boston Crab, then dropped his knee repeatedly onto the Axe's head. Finally, Valiant went to the top turnbuckle and blasted Hennig with a flying elbow drop, and Hennig was unable to meet the 10-count.


WINNER: JOHNNY VALIANT

JR: Ladies and gentlemen, that is how issues are settled in the Old School. Johnny Valiant took the measure of Larry Hennig and beat him down in a pier-six brawl. Last Man Standing style! We'll see that very same style of confrontation one week from tonight, when the issues between KILLER KOWALSKI and KING KONG BUNDY finally come to a head! Kingston and Taylor opened the card with a full-on war! Eddie pounded away on Chucky with punches and kicks and owned him outside of the ring. Taylor mounted a comeback with a couple of stiff Enzuigiri kicks, sending Kingston reeling. But Eddie took the match back out to the arena floor, where he again dominated the brawling and put Taylor on the concrete with a massive power bomb. Chucky was unable to meet the ten-count back to the ring and the victory was awarded to Kingston via countout.

THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS (DUSTIN LEE & SCOTTY VORTEKZ) vs. BUFF BAGWELL & CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI
The tag match was over before it started! Bagwell exploded on Scotty, levelling him with a powerful dropkick and scoring a quick pinfall victory before the Dragons knew what hit them.

ERICK STEVENS vs. COWBOY BOB ORTON
Although the outcome of the match was academic, Stevens and Orton went to the limits in the final bout. Orton dominated the match for long periods, outwrestling Stevens and wearing him down. But Stevens absorbed the punishment and fought back, overcoming six fatigue tokens to finally gain the measure of Orton and capture the victory!

Daytondave: Erick Stevens is a BEAST! He took all of Orton's best shots and came back strong. Dude just keeps on battling. But, at the end of the day, it is Sweet 'N Sour that moves on to the loser's bracket final. Now, let's look at the winners' bracket. DiPaolo had his man well scouted in the opening contest, outwrestling Sandman at every turn and frustrating his efforts to turn the match into a brawl. DiPaolo dominated the bout and picked up a decisive victory for his Nation.

The Nation continued to show its resolve as Tiger Mask survived a brutal beating from Justin Credible! After several minutes of punishment, Tiger finally made a desperation tag to Inoki. Inoki took over on Credible, and when Younger tried to interfere, Antonio brought both foes together for a stunning double noggin-knocker. Younger tumbled to the arena floor, allowing Inoki to put away Credible for the victory.

SABU vs. MIL MASCARAS
The final contest of the night went from the sublime to the ridiculous. Sabu came out aggressively against Mascaras, but the wily Mexican reversed his aggression and sent Sabu careening into the turnbuckle. Mascaras followed with a soaring body press, but Joe Kopasz found himself in harms way and was injured in a three-way collision at the turnbuckle. Mascaras continued to dominate Sabu, even as members of the House of Hardcore tried to interfere. In the end, Mascaras dispatched all three of Sabu's stablemates! TODD SINCLAIR finally dashed to the ring to deliver the three-count as Mascaras put Sabu down for the victory.

The show opens with JR JAMES in the ring in front of a packed house in Reading, Pennsylvania. As the crowd roars, a banner is unfurled from the arena ceiling!

JR: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Old School Saturday Night! The fine folks here at Heartland Championship Wrestling are proud to bring you tonight's special broadcast. We are just one week away from Freedom Festival 2009, where all seven HCW championships will be contended. So, tonight, we will bring you a special Freedom Festival preview show! We have two challengers yet to be decided, and those matches will be held right here this evening. We'll see the number one contenders' match for the United States Tag Team Championship, as the ROAD WARRIORS go to battle against the VACHON BROTHERS. That match should be explosive! In order to keep things under control during that battle, there will be a Special Guest Referee- one-half of the United States Tag Team Champions, BOB ARMSTRONG!

The fans cheer as the elder Armstrong appears at the top of the ramp in a referee shirt and waves.

JR: And that is not all, ladies and gentlemen. The number one contender's position for the U.S. Heavyweight Championship will also be decided tonight when GIANT BABA moves out against NICK BOCKWINKEL. That confrontation should be a legendary bout indeed. And, our dramatic main event tonight will be the culmination of a long-standing feud when KING KONG BUNDY meets KILLER KOWALSKI in a Last Man Standing match! Three monumental matches are on the card tonight, plus a whole lot more! Now, let's head to the ring for tonight's opening contest!

FREEDOM FESTIVAL PREVIEW MATCH
THE DESTROYER & THE MISSING LINK vs. BRAD ARMSTRONG & MATT JACKSON
The reigning U.S. Heavyweight Champion and the Ultimate X Champion joined forces to take on two exciting young stars in the opening bout. The young upstarts functioned more effectively as a unit, and dazzled the fans with a series of double-team dropkicks on Link. Matt took to the air, levelling Link with a scintillating slingshot plancha. Link and his young challenger battled evenly for several minutes before the Destroyer tagged in. Jackson escaped trouble and made the tag to Brad, but Destroyer overpowered him and took him to the canvas. Destroyer applied a brutal Single Leg Boston Crab, and forced a submission from Brad as Link cut off Matt from making the save.

WINNERS: DESTROYER & MISSING LINK

JR: A very impressive opening contest indeed! Even in a mere exhibition match, all four men brought their intensity at its peak. Destroyer proved why he is the top man on Old School by taking out a formidable competitor. At the same time, Matt Jackson proved his mettle in that match, and there is no question that he will provide the Missing Link with a stern test for the Ultimate X Championship at the Freedom Festival.



FREEDOM FESTIVAL PREVIEW MATCH
RAY STEVENS, OX BAKER, & LARRY ZBYSZKO (w/ BOBBY 'THE BRAIN' HEENAN) vs. BRUISER BRODY, THE MOUNTIE, & ANGELO MOSCA
The Heenan Family strode to the ring with all the gold, sporting the Heartland Heavyweight Championship and the HCW Tag Team Titles! The challengers were mismatched, but determined to prove themselves heading into Philadelphia. The match itself was gritty and intense. Zbyszko took over on Mosca in the early going and nearly put him down with the Larryland Sleeper. But Mountie managed to tag himself in and turn the tables, outwrestling Baker and nearly forcing him to tap out to the Boston Crab. Stevens hit the ring to make the save, prompting Brody to come after his rival. In an instant, all six men were in the ring and chaos ensued. Amidst the confusion, Mountie retrieved his Shock Stick and zapped the fallen Baker. Nick Patrick was shielded from the action, but was able to return to the scene of the crime and count Baker down for the decision.

WINNERS: BRUISER BRODY, THE MOUNTIE, & ANGELO MOSCA

After the decision, an irate Zbyszko charged after Mountie, pointing and screaming while Heenan berated Nick Patrick and Stevens came to the aid of Baker. But Mosca defended his partner and Zbyszko was forced to back down before the confrontation could escalate.


JR: No question, this Canadian team is devious and dangerous. Their rivalry with the Heenan Family continues to fester, and one week from tonight it will be 2 out of 3 falls for the Heartland Tag Team Championship! Needless to day, Heartland Heavyweight Champion Ray Stevens will have his hands full as well in what promises to be a dynamite Supercard! Now, let's move on to the most important business of the evening- our Number One Contender's matches!



UNITED STATES TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: #1 CONTENDERS' MATCH
THE ROAD WARRIORS vs. THE VACHON BROTHERS (BUTCHER & MAD DOG w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV)
WIth Bob Armstrong serving as the third man in the ring, there would be no nonsense in this match! The Roadies were all business in dismantling the Vachons, capped by a spectacular Doomsday Device on Mad Dog. Breznikov tried to distract Armstrong to interrupt the three count, but the guest referee would have none of it and counted the pin to make the decision official.

WINNERS: THE ROAD WARRIORS

JR: Looks like we picked the right man indeed to officiate that contest. Armstrong did his job, the Road Warriors did their job, and this Saturday Night in Philadelphia it will be Armstrongs versus Road Warriors for the U.S. Tag Titles! Animal is in the ring talking some trash to Bob Armstrong, but the mutual respect between these two teams is evident and it appears that these men will shake hands and see each other in Philly! Who will head to Freedom Festival as the challenger for the U.S. Heavyweight Championship? Now is the time we answer that question.



UNITED STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: #1 CONTENDERS' MATCH
GIANT BABA vs. NICK BOCKWINKEL
In a surprisingly one-sided match, Baba took control at the opening bell and dominated Bockwinkel to earn a decisive victory.

JR: A most impressive win indeed for the Japanese giant! Baba moves on to Freedom Festival to face off against The Destroyer! Can the intelligent, sensational one withstand the power of Baba? Tune in on Saturday to watch that battle and much more! And now, fans, the time has come for our Main Event of the evening. This one won't be for the faint of heart as two mammoth men with a monstrous hatred come to blows for the final time.



LAST MAN STANDING
KILLER KOWALSKI vs. KING KONG BUNDY
A brutal match between the behemoths nearly brought the Sovereign Center to the ground! The match opened as a brutal slugfest as both men stood toe-to-toe and battled it out. After several minutes of brawling, Kowalski gained the advantage outside of the ring by hiptossing Bundy onto the announcers' table! With Bundy staggered, Kowalski smartly went to the air, leaping onto Bundy with a double axe-handle, followed by repeated knee drops which punished Bundy.

But the aerial attack left Kowalski gassed, and the Killer was forced to slow the pace. He continued to work over Bundy with choke holds and armbars, then locked on a vicious claw hold! Bundy was barely able to respond, struggling and kicking at the mat as Kowalski sapped the strength from him. JIM CORNETTE dashed into the ring, but Kowalski stood quickly and drew back a fist, sending Cornette scrambling for safety. Bundy was too weak to mount an effective response, and Kowalski returned to his punishment.

Kowalski put the boots to Bundy with a vengeance, but Kong finally got back to his feet. Kowalski whipped him to the turnbuckle, but Bundy alertly caught him coming in with an elbow smash and stunned the big Canadian. Bundy pitched him to the arena floor, but Kowalski grabbed Bundy by the back of the head, slamming him into the steel ring steps and busting him open! Bundy was nearly out on his feet when Kowalski viciously tore into his injured flesh with a claw hold. SHERRI MARTEL came from the locker room, pummeling on Bundy's back with both fists as Kowalski brought him to his knees. Sherri's shrieks echoed through the arena as the crowd sat in stunned silence. Bundy collapsed to the floor, and sherri turned her attention to Cornette.

Cornette made a break for it, but Sherri jumped on his back and sent the manager sprawling to the floor. Sherri beat Cornette viciously with both fists, until Nick Patrick finally pulled her away. But as Cornette scrambled to his feet, he was met by Kowalski, who clamped the massive claw hold onto Cornette's face! With Bundy's blood still fresh on the claw hand, Kowalski dug his fingers into the temples of Cornette, smearing blood on his face. Cornette slumped to the floor in a heap, unconscious, and stained with Bundy's blood. Kowalski screamed and held his bloody claw hand in the air. The fans erupted with applause as Kowalski stood over Bundy and Cornette. Nick Patrick hauled Sherri back to the dressing room, kicking and screaming and spitting at Cornette as she was dragged through the curtain.

WINNER: KILLER KOWALSKI
(Kowalski subdued Bundy with the Claw Hold)


JR: What a shocking and graphic end to what has been a brutal feud between Sherri Martel and Jim Cornette. In the end, it was Killer Kowalski who put an end to this situation by leaving both Bundy and Cornette bloodied and out cold on the floor of the Sovereign Center. Sherri has had her vengeance, but she continues to bear the scars of this ugly feud and there is no question she will have a permanent and horrific memory of one James E. Cornette. All of us who have witnessed those atrocities will not come away the same. But, ladies and gentlemen, we have seen some terrific and important action here this evening. Congratulations to GIANT BABA and to the ROAD WARRIORS for securing their title matches at Freedom Festival 2009! The big event is just one week away, live from Philadelphia! The show opens with Warfare General Manager DAYTONDAVE in the bandshell addressing an overflow outdoor crowd in Columbiana County.

Daytondave: Hey, fans, thanks for coming out tonight! Heartland Championship Wrestling is here and it's the hottest thing this county will ever see! Bigger than EARLE BRUCE, more legendary than LOU HOLTZ, and cruising on down the road to Philadelphia for Freedom Festival 2009! That's right, the biggest supercard in Heartland history is just three days away! But let's not get ahead of ourselves- tonight is a HUGE night on Warfare! The championship of the Team Challenge Series will be decided right here tonight! Our beloved Commissioner, COUSIN LUKE, has put up $50,000 of his own money for the champs, and we'll award that prize tonight!

The fans erupt with applause as Luke strides to the stage. His hair is slicked back, his beard is freshly trimmed, and his boots are shined as he wears bib overalls, a flannel shirt, and a tweed sports jacket. MISS BERTHA is on his arm. Luke waves to the fans, and takes the microphone.

Luke: Howdy, y'all! It shore is nice to be here! I cain't wait to see who's gonna win the championship!

Daytondave: Whoa! Mr. Commissioner! You are looking sharp tonight, sir!

Luke: Well thank ya, Daytondave. I decide to get gussied up for my l'il lady. So who's gonna rassle for the championship?

Daytondave: Tonight is the night, Mr. Commissioner. We'll see THE HOUSE OF HARDCORE square off against SWEET 'N SOUR, INCORPORATED. THE SANDMAN vs. EDDIE KINGSTON
The opening match was all about attitude as Sandman and Kingston squared off. Trash talk and fisticuffs were abundant, but Kingston lost his focus. Taking too long on the top turnbuckle, Kingston hit Sandman with a cross-body block, but Sandman rolled through and surprised Kingston with a pinfall victory!

BLOODLUST (DRAKE YOUNGER & JUSTIN CREDIBLE) vs. BUFF BAGWELL & CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI
The animosity continued to build between the squads as the tag team match heated up. Bagwell seemed intent on provoking his opponents, getting both Younger and Credible riled up. Claudio did his part, catching Younger with a sting slap to the chest and spitting on him. Younger lost it and rolled to the floor, where he grabbed a light tube and proceeded to smash Claudio across the back! Todd Sinclair quickly called for the disqualification and awarded the match to Sweet 'N Sour.

WINNERS (via disqualification): BUFF BAGWELL & CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI
House of Hardcore 1, Sweet 'N Sour 1


After the decision, Younger wasn't satisfied. He continued to whack Claudio with the mangled shards of the light tube, opening a nasty gash on Claudio's left arm! Members of Sweet 'N Sour dashed to his assistance, but Credible fended them off with his cane. By the time order was restored, Claudio was bleeding profusely from the arm and had to be taken from ringside by the Heartland trainers.


Daytondave: What an ugly mess! Dude is gonna need stitched up for sure. Let's see what happens in the final match- if Sweet 'N Sour advances, we'll check with the trainers to see if Claudio will be able to return for the finals.



SABU vs. COWBOY BOB ORTON
Despite the furor surrounding the tag team match, the veteran Orton kept his head. Orton kept the pace of the match at a crawl, grounding Sabu and never letting him unleash his brutal offensive fury. After planting Sabu with a piledriver, Orton took him to the top rope and drove him down with a Superplex to secure the victory!

WINNER: COWBOY BOB ORTON

FINAL RESULT: Sweet 'N Sour 2, House of Hardcore 1


Daytondave: What a clutch performance by Bob Orton! The most experienced competitor in the challenge and he certainly made his experience pay off. Thanks to that victory, Sweet 'N Sour moves on to the finals of the Team Challenge Series- but they will be without the services of Claudio Castagnoli, who was injured earlier tonight at the hands of Drake Younger. Sweet 'N Sour will have a tough night ahead as they move into the finals against THE NATION OF HONOR!


SWEET 'N SOUR, INC. vs. THE NATION OF HONOR

EDDIE KINGSTON vs. ILIO DiPAOLO
In an inspired performance, Eddie Kingston took everything DiPaolo could dish out and kept on coming. DiPaolo outwrestled Kingston consistently, but continued to battle and wore down Ilio with his roughhousing tactics. Kingston used the Backdrop Driver and the backfist with great success, putting DiPaolo on the defensive. In desperation, DiPaolo went to the top turnbuckle, but Kingston ducked the attempted bodypress and DiPaolo crashed to the mat hard! That proved to be the turning point as Kingston grabbed his stunned opponent and put him away!

WINNER: EDDIE KINGSTON

Sweet 'N Sour 1, Nation of Honor 0

After the fall, DRAKE YOUNGER and JUSTIN CREDIBLE returned to ringside and attacked Kingston! But BOB ORTON and BUFF BAGWELL fought off the attack and chased the members of the House of Hardcore back to the dressing room.


Daytondave: Wow! What a terrific match! Both men brought their best- and Eddie Kingston has shocked the Heartland with an improbable upset! Even the sour grapes of the House of Hardcore couldn't dampen the moment for Sweet 'N Sour. We're still not clear, fans, as to what the squad will do without Castagnoli, but it appears that Orton is going to go ahead and tag up with Bagwell for the next match.


COWBOY BOB ORTON & BUFF BAGWELL vs. ANTONIO INOKI & TIGER MASK
The Nation came back strong in tag team competition. Inoki dominated both opponents, finally blasting Orton with a devastating Enzuigiri. Bagwell tried to make the save, but Tiger Mask cut him off and Inoki was able to complete the pinfall.

Orton: Don't you worry, Daytondave. I've already wrestled twice tonight. But my man Bagwell has got this under control.

Daytondave: So Bagwell is going to wrestle the final match?

Bagwell: He didn't say THAT, Daytondave. He said, we have this covered!

The loudspeakers begin to play a sultry theme song, and the bewildered fans begin searching the park. MIL MASCARAS stands in the ring, pointing and shrugging as the music wails. Suddenly, a voice thunders over the speakers.

Voice: CUT THE MUSIC! What I'd like to have right now is for all you toothless, lame-brained, trailer-park wannabes to SHUT YOUR MOUTHS and watch what a real man looks like in that ring!

The fans gasp as RAVISHING RICK RUDE struts to the ring, accompanied by SARA DEL REY. Rude removes his sequined robe and slides into the ring, glaring menacingly at Mascaras, but the Mexican legend stands unimpressed as he prepares for the bell to ring.

Daytondave: Rick Rude? Fans, I never saw this coming! True to the tradition of Sweet 'N Sour, Bagwell had an ace in the hole, even after Claudio Castagnoli went down earlier this evening. The stakes are high! The $50,000 top prize is on the line and it all comes down to this match!


'RAVISHING' RICK RUDE vs. MIL MASCARAS
The element of surprise was clearly on the side of The Ravishing One! Rude took control from the opening bell, launching himself into Mascaras with a fury. Mascaras never got untracked, and Rude was relentless in his attack. Mascaras survived the Rude Awakening, but he was clearly stunned by the powerful move and Rude put him away for a decisive victory!

Last we saw Rude, he was in exile, but he has a history with Buff Bagwell and it was Bagwell who pulled the rabbit out of the hat! Cousin Luke is in the ring, handing a briefcase to Bob Orton for the $50,000 cash prize.

CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI makes his way back from the locker room, his arm heavily bandaged. He joins his teammates in the ring, but greets Rude with an icy glare.

Claudio: Rick Rude, you are scum. You stole my money once and now you come to steal from me again!

Claudio reaches up and slaps Rude across the mouth. Rude flinches, but holds his temper. He turns to Orton and holds his hand out. Orton gives him his share of the cash, and Rude turns and gives the cash to Claudio.

Rude: No hard feelings, dude. That witch SO CAL VAL played me just as much as she played you. I'm just glad to be back in the ring to take care of business.

Claudio accepts the cash and gives Rude a handshake.

Daytondave: Well, nothing like a little cold hard cash to settle a bitter grudge! Congratulations again to Sweet 'N Sour Incorporated for a most improbable victory in the Team Challenge Series! I usually read your stuff via a Yahoogroup newsletter, but my lord, it doesn't compare to how it LOOKS here. I am going to start reading your amazing Feds from here. All the colors, images, etc, it is something that emails just can't match.
