Heartland Championship Wrestling Wednesday Night Warfare January 14, 2009 (Card #189) Putnam County Fairgrounds, Ottawa, Ohio The show opens with Warfare GM DAYTONDAVE and HCW Commissioner COUSIN LUKE in the ring as the tune "Devour" by Shinedown plays.Daytondave: Welcome back my friends, to the show that never ends! Daytondave comin' back at ya with another exciting episode of Wednesday Night Warfare! We're gearing up to Heartland Havoc XXIII, which is just 10 days away. And tonight, we have two special announcements about that card. We already know that the Heartland Heavyweight Championship will be on the line as the new champion, TAKESHI MORISHIMA, defends the title against the former champion, BRUISER BRODY. You talk about your battle of the titans, fans, be ready for a war! We also know that the card will feature an eight-man cruiserweight tournament that you won't want to miss. Commissioner Luke, sir, tell us about the venue for the card! Luke: Thank you, Daytondave. As y'all know, we signed the contracts and the show is set for the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan! The fans boo loudly at the announcement of the venue as they chant "O-H-I-O". Daytondave laughs.Daytondave: Get over it, people! That's right, we're taking HCW back out on the road! And where better to start, than the great state of Michigan? Luke: I am sure y'all will enjoy the show. Daytondave, you got a Warfare match to announce for Havoc? Daytondave: Yes I do, boss! Warfare will crown its new tag team champions at Havoc! The top two teams will be duking it out. It will be THE BACKSEAT BOYZ versus the NAPTOWN DRAGONS for the Warfare Tag Team Championship! A commotion arises backstage and THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS storm through the curtain. BG James: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages. Heartland Championship Wrestling proudly presents the 2008 Tag Team of the Year- the New... Age... Outlaws! Kip: Daytondave- you know you are the main man here- but what on earth are you thinking? The Backseat Boyz? The Naptown Dragons? You're putting those jabronis in the Warfare Tag Team Championship? When you've got the Tag Team of the Year sitting on the sidelines? Daytondave: That's the way it goes, Kip. The Dragons beat you guys last month. BG: Come on now, Daytondave! The Outlaws could destroy either of those teams in a heartbeat! Daytondave: Then get back in the ring and work your way back to the top, fellas. Kip: The bottom of the ladder? I don't think so, pal. Me and BG have a better idea. Daytondave: A better idea? What might that be? Kip and BG smirk, drop the microphone, and strut away from the platform back through the curtain.Daytondave: Fans, the Outlaws claim to have a better idea. What do you suppose they are thinking? I suppose we'll find out sooner or later. But tonight, fans, we have some great matches in store for you. MIL MASCARAS has issued a challenge- and PEPPER GOMEZ has taken him up on it! We'll see a Fall Count Anywhere match as tonight's main event! We also hope to get an update on the whereabouts of THE MISSING LINK and Heartland referee HEATHER OWENS. We certainly saw some fireworks from Link and Heather last week- but where are they now? Tonight we hope to find out. Now, let's get it started! (Tonight's referee: Joe Kopasz)COWBOY BOB ORTON (w/ LARRY SWEENEY) vs. NECRO BUTCHERThe wild antics of Necro Butcher were too much for Sweeney's enforcer. Necro pummeled Orton and shrugged off the interference of Sweeney to finish off a punishing victory. WINNER: NECRO BUTCHER(Necro pinned Orton after a Tiger Driver)Daytondave: Did Necro have any idea who he was in there against? I think not. Bob Orton is a dangerous man, but Necro just dominated that match and Orton doesn't know what hit him. SABU vs. DAN "THE BEAST" SEVERNIn a quick and decisive bout, Sabu launched himself into Severn from the opening bell and floored him with a slingshot legdrop. Before Severn could recover, he found himself on the receiving end of a triple jump moonsault and it was over! WINNER: SABU(Sabu pinned Severn after a Triple Jump Moonsault)Daytondave: What a show of intensity by Sabu! I don't think I've ever seen Severn get handled so convincingly! STEVE CORINO (w/ SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK) vs. CHRIS CANDIDOIt was two very different men who entered this match. Corino came out determined and focused, accompanied by Humperdink. Candido entered alone, and still appeared crestfallen to be without his valet Tammy. Corino took the fight to Candido and controlled the early action. Corino pitched Candido out of the ring, and belted him with a steel chain on the arena floor! Suddenly, from nowhere, TAMMY LYNN SYTCH dashed to ringside! Candido was immediately inspired and fought back aggressively. He hurled Corino back into the ring and took control, dominating Corino with suplexes and a sensational diving headbutt! Corino rolled out of the ring, and Candido followed. A fierce brawl developed! As Candido and Corino brawled, "RAVISHING" RICK RUDE dashed down the aisle! Rude was followed by CHERIE DUPRE, who appeared shocked as The Ravishing One burst through the curtain. Rude quickly jumped into the fray, leveling Candido with a sucker punch from behind! Joe Kopasz immediately called for the disqualification against Corino, but the brawl raged on. Humperdink wisely pulled Corino out of the fracas and led him to safety. Rude and Candido battled, and it was tooth and nail up the aisle! Neither man took a step back until Tammy slipped behind Rude and delivered a vicious low blow! Rude sank to his knees, and Candido sent him to the floor with a crushing right hand! Rude crawled away up the ring ramp, finally staggering to his feet. As he reached the top of the ramp, GORGEOUS GEORGE stepped through the curtain and gave Rude a humiliating slap across the face. George grabbed Cherie and hauled her backstage. Candido and Tammy strolled hand in hand, happily back through the curtain as Rude lay flat on his back on the floor.WINNER: CHRIS CANDIDO(Corino disqualified for Outside Interference)Daytondave: What a disaster for Rick Rude! I guess you can have too much of a good thing. While Rude was putting the moves on Cherie Dupre, Tammy got away and is now happily reunited with Candido! One man who is NOT happy is Gorgeous George- so Rude had better watch his step. As Rude staggers to his feet, another figure bursts through the curtain, crashing into Rude and sending him tumbling back to the floor. The figure of DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE falls to the floor and tumbles down the ring ramp. Page is covered in blood! Quickly, CHRIS HERO & CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI emerge in pursuit. Claudio kicks Page in the head, sending him sprawling. As Page staggers up to hands and knees, Hero launches forward and kicks Page squarely in the rib cage! LARRY SWEENEY bursts through the curtain with a microphone, shouting at Page.Sweeney: How do you like THAT, Mr. Good Times? Who's the High Roller now? Kick him, Kings! Pound him into the concrete! Hero and Claudio continue to pummel DDP as Sweeney addresses the crowd.Sweeney: All right, you losers, here's your party animal pal! This guy and his Fatboy partner have no chance against the Kings! Nobody lives the good life the way that Sweet & Sour, Inc. lives it. Sweet & Sour, Inc. is here to ride the limos and romance the ladies, and no two-bit hustler like this Page character will do anything about it! Let's go, boys, we have a limo waiting! The camera follows Sweeney back to the parking lot, where a limo awaits. Hero pulls the door open, and Claudio reaches into the limo and grabs TRINITY DENUCCI. The Rollers' valet is shoved to the ground, and Sweeney and the Kings hijack the limo and head out of the parking lot. PLAYBOY BUDDY ROSE emerges from the back door of the arena, dressed in a tuxedo. He sees the limo pulling away, and rushes to aid the fallen Trinity.Daytondave: What a despicable act! It's bad enough that these Kings beat up Diamond Dallas and stole his limo, but to manhandle Trinity is totally uncalled for! I hope that DDP is okay, and I certainly hope that he and Playboy Buddy are able to track down Sweeney and make him pay. Time for me to calm down and turn the attention back to the ring for tonight's main event. MAIN EVENT: FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE MIL MASCARAS vs. PEPPER GOMEZIn a ferocious brawl, Gomez and Mascaras fought all over the arena! Mascaras controlled the early stages of the match inside the ring, but Gomez went to the arena floor and whipped Mascaras hard into the steel ring steps! Mascaras crashed shoulder first into the steel and went down hard. Gomez went to work, pounding away at Mascaras with the ring bell. After a stiff shot to the skull of Mascaras, it was apparent that his mask was becoming soaked with blood. But Mil fought back, staggering backstage and grabbing a fire extinguisher and hosing down Gomez! Gomez staggered away, and Mascaras cracked him across the back with the fire extinguisher! Gomez went down, but caught Mascaras coming in and dropped Mil on the concrete floor with a DDT! Gomez grabbed a nearby length of electrical cord and wrapped it around the neck of Mascaras, choking him down! Mascaras fought, but eventually went limp in the grasp of Gomez and Joe Kopasz jumped in and forced Gomez to release the cord. Mascaras remained down on the floor, and paramedics were summoned to tend to him. Mascaras was placed on a stretcher and rolled to an ambulance waiting in the parking lot. WINNER: PEPPER GOMEZ(Gomez choked out Mascaras with an electrical cord)Daytondave: Fans, I am shocked! I fear for the well-being of Mil Mascaras after that vicious match. We'll track his progress at the hospital and report back to you as soon as possible. The camera shifts to the parking lot as the ambulance heads to the exit. Suddenly, the squeal of tires is heard as a car careens into the parking lot. The speeding vehicle clips the back of the ambulance and spins wildly through the parking lot. The car slams into a light post, as another vehicle speeds into the lot in pursuit. The door of the wrecked car opens, and TITO SANTANA tumbles out. The other vehicle screeches to a halt, and THE MISSING LINK climbs out of the driver's seat. HEATHER OWENS jumps out of the passenger seat as Link grabs Tito and starts to brawl!PARKING LOT BRAWL COMBAT CHAMPION TITO SANTANA vs. THE MISSING LINKThe violence between Link and Tito erupted again! After a brief slugfest, the two men wound up on top of a car, where Link picked up Santana and dropped him with a piledriver through the roof of the car! Both men took some time to recover. Tito got to his feet first, and picked up a brick from the ground. Tito bashed Link on the forehead with the brick and busted him open! Link went down, and Tito went back to the trunk of his car and pulled out a tire iron! But Link recovered while Tito returned with the tire iron, and Link lunged forward to catch Santana coming in with a headbutt to the stomach. Santana dropped the iron and doubled over. Link got to his feet and picked up Tito, turned, and drove him through the hood of a car with a powerbomb! Tito crashed through the hood with a groan! Link staggered over and covered Santana, and Heather Owens made the three count to end the bloody confrontation! WINNER: THE MISSING LINK(Link pinned Santana after a power bomb through the hood of a car)THE MISSING LINK REGAINS THE WARFARE COMBAT CHAMPIONSHIPDaytondave: That was incredible! That was brutal! That was incredibly brutal! After pursuing Tito Santana for weeks, Missing Link has finally caught up to him- and beaten him- to regain the Combat Title! Both men can barely get to their feet. This is the second time these two men have been to war, and I don't think they're finished with each other. But we are done here tonight, fans, after an amazing night of wrestling- and brawling! Be sure to tune in Saturday night for the next Broadcast of Old School, where you'll see the United States Heavyweight Champion, RAY "THE CRIPPLER" STEVENS, defend his title in a rematch against the former champion, THE DESTROYER! And of course, fans, don't forget about the big pay-per-view telecast of Heartland Havoc XXIII: Motor City Mayhem on January 24! Until then, fans, that's our show, and I AM OUTTA HERE!Warfare American Champion: DANNY HODGE Warfare Tag Team Champions: Warfare Combat Champion: THE MISSING LINK

Heartland Championship Wrestling Old School Saturday Night January 17, 2008 (Card #190) Canton Civic Center, Canton, Ohio The show opens with JR JAMES in the ring, wearing a black suit, standing silently, head bowed. A picture of COUSIN JUNIOR www.obsessedwithwrestling.com/pictures/c/cousinjunior/01.jpg is displayed on the Cantontron as the ring bell sounds 10 times.JR: Good evening, fans. Thank you for joining us in a moment of silence to honor the memory of our old friend Cousin Junior. COUSIN LUKE will not be able to join is tonight, but he sends his best wishes. We know that Luke and Junior both love the wrestling business, and the show will go on! The fans cheer, and the music "Devour" by Shinedown plays. JR: That's right, fans, Heartland Havoc XXIII: Motor City Mayhem is just one week away! No question, we are all looking forward to the big rematch between TAKESHI MORISHIMA and BRUISER BRODY with the Heartland Heavyweight Championship on the line! But we certainly have a great card in store for you this evening as well. Our main event this evening will be for the most prestigious title in the Old School - the United States Heavyweight Championship. The US Champion, RAY "THE CRIPPLER" STEVENS will be defending his title against THE DESTROYER. So, let's head to the ring for tonight's opening contest! (Tonight's referee: Nick Patrick)HEARTLAND SIX-MAN TAG TOURNAMENT: SEMI-FINALS BOBO BRAZIL, THE DESTROYER, & MASKED SUPERSTAR vs. BRUTUS "THE GEEK" BEEFCAKE, GREG "THE HAMMER" VALENTINE & JOHNNY VALENTINEThe semifinal match was hard-fought and evenly matched! Bobo and Johnny Valentine had a lengthy slugfest and both men were gassed. Bobo tagged in Destroyer, who stunned Brutus with a sensational suplex! Brutus slid out of the ring, and Destroyer followed, but Brutus caught him and powerbombed him to the floor! When Destroyer staggered back into the ring, Beefcake and Greg Valentine greeted him with a Double Body Slam! Destroyer went down hard, and Brutus made the cover to earn the victory! WINNERS: BRUTUS "THE GEEK" BEEFCAKE, GREG "THE HAMMER" VALENTINE & JOHNNY VALENTINE(Beefcake pinned Destroyer after a Double Body Slam)JR: What a stunning finish indeed! Destroyer will have to do better than that tonight when he squares off against Crippler Stevens. That match was very closely contested, but in the end it proved advantageous for Brutus to have his regular tag team partner in his corner. So Brutus and the Valentines will move to the finals to meet the formidable team of Bockwinkel, Muraco, and The Crusher, with the $30,000 top prize on the line! THE CRUSHER vs. JIMMY "SUPERFLY" SNUKAIn a decisive match, Snuka pounced on Crusher and chopped him to the mat after a soaring Leap Frog! Before 'Da Crush could recover, Snuka took to the skies and finished his foe! WINNER: JIMMY "SUPERFLY" SNUKA(Snuka pinned Crusher after a Superfly Leap)JR: If that is not the most devastating finishing manuever in all of wrestling, then I don't know what is. That was breathtaking! "MAGNIFICENT" DON MURACO vs. GIANT BABAAfter a hard-hitting match where both men took a pounding, Muraco managed to outlast Baba and put him down for the count. WINNER: "MAGNIFICENT" MURACO(Muraco pinned Baba with the Hawaiian Hammer)JR: What a tremendous battle indeed between two powerful competitors. No question, action like that is Old School at its finest! ANTONIO INOKI vs. "BIG DADDY" ELMER (w/ BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN)Inoki tried his best to subdue the massive Elmer, but no amount of technique could take the giant off his feet. In frustration, Inoki charged the turnbuckle, but missed and crashed to the mat. One Hillbilly Splash was all it took for Big Daddy to gain the three-count. WINNER: "BIG DADDY" ELMER(Elmer pinned Inoki after the Hillbilly Splash)JR: Big Daddy puts down another undersized foe. A nice return for Elmer after losing the grudge match to his nephew Jim. But Heenan still vows to destroy Hillbilly Jim, and Jim aspires to take down Heenan's family one by one. We'll see the next encounter in that series, later this evening! THE VALIANT BROTHERS (JIMMY & JOHNNY) vs. THE KILLER BEES (B. BRIAN BLAIR & JUMPIN' JIM BRUNZELL)This match was all about B. Brian Blair! The Valiants took charge early in the match, and Johnny Valiant dominated Brunzell. Jumpin' Jim survived a couple of close calls, then tagged in Blair, who went to town on both Valiants!Brunzell recuperated enough to assist with a couple of double-team manuevers, knocking Johnny out of the ring. Jimmy fared no better, and Blair quickly put him away! WINNERS: THE KILLER BEES(Blair forced Jimmy Valiant to submit to the Sleeper Hold)JR: On a good night, these Bees can compete with anybody! But over time, the consistency of this team has been questionable indeed. But now, fans, let's take a look at the next in a series of grudge matches, as our man Bobby Heenan continues in his quest to destroy Hillbilly Jim. Tonight, it is Ox Baker who gets the call! GRUDGE MATCH: NO DISQUALIFICATION HILLBILLY JIM vs. OX BAKER (w/ BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN)The big Ox made short work of Jim, beating him down with a series of powerful clotheslines and finishing him with a Heart Punch. WINNER: OX BAKER(Baker pinned Jim after a Heart Punch)After the decision, Baker continued to attack as Heenan encouraged him! Baker put the boots to Jim repeatedly, until he was motionless on the canvas. Baker left the ring to retrieve his Heartland Tag Team Championship Belt, and appeared to be getting ready to smash the fallen Hillbilly. But before Ox made it back to the ring, KIP & BG JAMES charged the ring! Baker dropped his belt and fled up the ring ramp while Heenan high-tailed it to safety. BG picked up the title belt and called for a microphone as Kip helped Hillbilly Jim back to his feet.BG: Hey! Heenan! Is that the best you got? Sending that big galoof after Jim with the Tag Team belt? That just goes to show what I have been saying all along, Brain. Your boys don't deserve these belts! Heenan: Is that right? Well listen to me, you scruffy-lookin' doofus! My man Ox and Larry Zbyszko have dominated the tag team scene. You punks winning Tag Team of the Year was a bigger joke than Al Franken. BG: Well, smart guy, why don't we settle this the old-fashioned way! You boys put up the tag belts and let's have at it! Heenan: Oh, no you don't. You want a title match? Get in line. BG: What's the matter, Bobby? You chicken? Can't take the heat? I'll tell you what- we'll take on all three of your losers. Me and Kip and Jim here, against Ox, Zbyszko, and Elmer. And if we win, we get our title shot! JR- book it, baby! Heenan: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold your horses, buster! What's in it for us? How about this, Outlaws? Once we beat you and your hick buddy Jim Bob- the Outlaws will NEVER get a shot against my tag team champions! JR: Wow! What a stipulation that Bobby Heenan has laid out! Outlaws- do you accept? Kip and BG look at each other with a determined scowl. BG hands Kip the microphone.Kip: JR- Heenan- the Outlaws got two words for ya- HELL YEAH!!!! JR: How about that? Ladies and gentlemen- it is a do-or-die situation for the New Age Outlaws! One week from tonight- at Heartland Havoc XXIII- it will be the Outlaws and Hillbilly Jim against Baker, Zbyszko, and Big Daddy Elmer- with special stipulations! The Outlaws will get their title shot- if they win. If not, Kip and BG will never get another opportunity at the belts! What a shocking turn of events, fans! Did the Outlaws just sign their own death certificate? One week from tonight, we will know for sure. And fans, we still have a main event title match tonight! So let's head back to the ring for our United States Heavyweight Championship match. MAIN EVENT: UNITED STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP RAY "THE CRIPPLER" STEVENS (c) (w/ BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN) vs. THE DESTROYERIt was a rugged title defense for the champion. Stevens came out aggressively and took control of the match, putting Destroyer on his heels. Stevens went for the kill early, landing the Bombs Away twice, but Destroyer was strong enough to escape. Destroyer fought back, managing to weaken Stevens with his Sensational Suplex. For a time, it looked as if the champion was in trouble, but Stevens battled back and again took control. Destroyer had used up his energy and finally succumbed to the Crippler for a clean pinfall decision. WINNER: RAY "CRIPPLER" STEVENS(Stevens pinned Destroyer after a Double Underhook Suplex)RAY STEVENS RETAINS THE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIPJR: No question, Ray Stevens proved his mettle tonight in taking down the former champion. Who will be the next challenger to step up? We'll see what the Old School brings when we return in two weeks. Don't forget, fans, to tune in to Heartland Havoc XXIII: Motor City Mayhem this Saturday night! The cruiserweight tournament and the American Tag Team Championship match should make for a great undercard, and that undercard got even better tonight with the challenge of the New Age Outlaws taking on the Heenan Family! And of course, that will all lead to the big Main Event, for the Heartland Heavyweight Championship, as TAKESHI MORISHIMA defends his title against BRUISER BRODY! Until then, fans, so long from the Buckeye State! Old School United States Champion: RAY "THE CRIPPLER" STEVENS Old School Tag Team Champions: BOB AND BRAD ARMSTRONG Old School Great Lakes Champion: NICK BOCKWINKEL

Heartland Championship Wrestling Heartland Havoc XXIII: Motor City Mayhem Joe Louis Arena, Detroit, Michigan January 24, 2009 The show opens with JR JAMES, DAYTONDAVE, MISS BERTHA, and COUSIN LUKE in the ring at the Joe Louis Arena.Daytondave: Greetings, fans of the Heartland, and welcome to Heartland Havoc XXIII! JR: Ladies and gentlemen, it is a privilege to be here in Detroit, Michigan, with tonight's exciting pay-per-view broadcast of Motor City Mayhem! Commissioner, it is great to have you back. Any comments about tonight's pay-per-view? Luke: Jimmy, you know I always love these paper views. I'm just sorry to see my cousin HILLBILLY JIM and my UNCLE ELMER fixin' to fight each other tonight. JR: Indeed, that is an unfortunate situation. Daytondave: That's right, fans, we'll see that six-man tag team match, with the special stipulations, later on tonight. But first, - Without warning, the tune “STRONGER” by Britney Spears echoes throughout the arena, as SO CAL VAL makes her way into the ring! Val walks around the ring in a beautiful black silk dress with a long slit showing off her left leg. She approaches Daytondave. Their eyes meet, and both Daytondave and Val smile.Daytondave: “Val! Wow, it has been a long time.. its great to see you sweetheart! You must forgive me I was not expecting you here tonight….” Val interrupts Dave with a peck on the cheek, Dave then gives a smile to the audience as he fixes his collar, as he turns back to face Val…Dave gets slapped square in the face!!! Val rips the microphone from an astonished and shocked Daytondave. Cousin Luke tries to pull the microphone away from Val, but is stopped by Miss Bertha. Bertha winks at Luke, and they both step back to see what was going to transpire in the ring.Val: Thank you Bertha! Cousin Luke, you've got a good woman there. Cousin Luke responds with a big shit eating grin on his face as Val continues. Val gets right in the face of Dave who is still in shock. Val: I know you like it rough, Daytondave. Consider that just the beginning, you stupid son of a bitch! Consider this the line drawn in the sand. You really thought you were going to get away with it, didn’t you? You and your business partner Larry Sweeney. Well, tell that poor excuse of a Bobby Heenan wannabe his reign over TRADITION is over as of right now. Thanks to the money yours truly took from Ravishing Rick Rude and Claudio Castagnolli guess who thanks to a phone call from a certain somebody owns over 50 percent of the TRADITION promotion, let’s just say that is more then enough to kick Sweeney out on his fat ass, as a matter of fact his offices are getting cleared out as we speak! I know Daytondave, you must be asking yourself, 'Why, Val?' Well, hell have no fury like a women scorned- especially this red head! I heard through the grapevine that HEARTLAND and TRADITION won feud of the year. What a load of crap! I heard you refer to TRADITION recently as HEARTLAND'S "sister promotion". Well, that ends now because this promotion will be the thing that keeps you up at night wondering if you can hang Daytondave. Whether Heartland goes bankrupt... So be prepared for a lot of sleepless nights- and not because of your two whores, Angelina Love and Velvet Sky” Suddenly KURT ANGLE, DOUG FURNAS, DAN KROFFAT, THE IRISH AIRBORNE and CHRIS JERICHO come down to the front row at ringside, kicking out and taking the seats of some of the Heartland dignitaries.Val: Daytondave, I know you have the market cornered with the buyout you and Sweeney accomplished with Filsinger. Let me ask you- how can it truly be a competiton when you and TRADITION were sharing the same talent..do you think I am an idiot? Well, as you see by these gentlemen in the front row, we sir will have plenty of talent for ourselves. So don’t worry, Daytondave, your rosters will stay intact or at least I hope so for your sake because who ever signs on with TRADITION is exclusive in TRADITION! Now, me and my friends are going to sit back and enjoy your show here tonight in our own front row seats. And for the fans who want to witness a REBIRTH of TRADITION- Suddenly, a huge banner drops from the rafters: Val tosses the microphone in the face of Daytondave who is in a state of misbelief. LARRY SWEENEY comes running down to the ring screaming! Daytondave and Sweeney leave the ring, arguing all the way up the aisle. Val takes her seat at ringside along with her guests, grinning wickedly. JR tries to regain his composure as he addresses the audience.JR: No question, tonight promises to be full of surprises! We haven't even opened the show yet, and already Daytondave and his sordid associations and his checkered past are catching up to him. But we have more important things on tonight's agenda, including our Cruiserweight Tournament! So, let's kick things off with our opening round matches. HEARTLAND CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING CRUISERWEIGHT TOURNAMENT: ROUND ONETIGER MASK pinned SABU with a Tiger Suplex STAN LANE pinned DRAKE YOUNGER after three Superkicks JUSHIN LIGER pinned DELIRIOUS with a Shooting Star Press ANTONIO INOKI pinned JIM LONDOS after an EnzuigiriJR: What a way to kick off tonight's card! That matchup between Liger and Delirious nearly brought down the house! I've never seen so much athleticism over such a sustained period of time- those two went at it for nearly twenty-five minutes! A huge win indeed for Liger- but will he have enough left in his tank to survive two more matches? I can't wait to see how this tournament plays out. But, before we head to the semifinals, we are going to see the six-man tag team match. The stakes are high for the NEW AGE OUTLAWS! If they win this match, they will earn an HCW Tag Team Title match- but if they lose, they will be permanently OUT of contention for the champions, OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO! Let's head back to the ring for this important match. SPECIAL CHALLENGE MATCH: SIX-MAN TAG TEAMKIP JAMES, BG JAMES & HILLBILLY JIM vs. OX BAKER, LARRY ZBYSZKO, & "BIG DADDY" ELMER (w/ BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN)(Referee: Charles Robinson)Once again, the Outlaws worked their magic! Kip started the match for his team, and dominated Zbyszko for the opening segment. Zbyszko tagged in Elmer, who fared no better. Kip nailed Elmer with the Fame-Asser, but Heenan interrupted the count. With Elmer down, Kip delighted the crowd by tagging in Hillbilly Jim! Jim stomped away at his turncoat uncle as the fans roared. When Baker and Zbyszko tried to interfere, Jim ducked away, and levelled both the champions with a crushing double clothesline! The freshest man, BG James, tagged into the match and caught a stunned Baker coming off the ropes, crushing him with the James Gang Pounce and scoring a clean pinfall! WINNERS: THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS & HILLBILLY JIM(BG pinned Baker after a James Gang Pounce)JR: What an astonishing victory! The New Age Outlaws just scored a pinfall over the HCW Tag Team champions! And now, the Outlaws have earned a Tag Team Championship Match! After the decision, the Outlaws and Jim continued to celebrate! But Big Daddy Elmer had other ideas, slipping behind Jim and smashing him across the back of the head! Jim was knocked to the mat, but came up brawling! Jim connected with a hard right hand, and the brawl was on! Jim and Elmer battled through the arena and officials streamed out from the backstage area to try and calm them down. But both men struggled to free themselves and the brawl continued. As it appeared that the fracas would finally be settled, Elmer broke free and lunged at Jim! Charles Robinson bravely stepped in front of Jim, but Elmer reared back with a massive haymaker and decked Robinson! Finally, BIG JIM THE ENFORCER shoved Elmer out of the fray and escorted him back to the locker room.JR: The hatred between these two men continues to fester. Some of the worst battles you will ever see take place when family gets into it with family. Cousin Luke was right, it's always a tough situation to be in the middle of. But lest we forget, the Outlaws have earned their title shot, and Heenan and his men will have their work cut out for them now. Next up, we have more great cruiserweight action, so let's head back to the ring! HEARTLAND CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING CRUISERWEIGHT TOURNAMENT: SEMIFINALSJUSHIN "THUNDER" LIGER vs. TIGER MASK(Referee: Nick Patrick)In a spectacular aerial confrontation, Liger controlled most of the action. A brilliantly executed tope suicida sent both men crashing to the arena floor in a daze. Liger recovered first, and rolled Tiger Mask back into the ring for a Fisherman's Buster to end the match. WINNER: JUSHIN "THUNDER" LIGER(Liger pinned Tiger Mask with a Fisherman's Buster)JR: That was a tremendous match indeed! No one takes to the skies like the Japanese cruiserweights. Our next semifinal match should be a much different style, but no question it should be equally competitive. HEARTLAND CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING CRUISERWEIGHT TOURNAMENT: SEMIFINALS"SWEET" STAN LANE (w/ JIM CORNETTE) vs. ANTONIO INOKI(Referee: Nick Patrick)Inoki wrestled a very clever match and scored a clean pinfall over Lane after a nifty reversal of a running spear. WINNER: ANTONIO INOKI(Inoki forced Lane to submit to an Octopus Hold)JR: Just as I predicted it, fans, a very different style match. Inoki controlled the pace of that contest and showed himself to be a master of his craft. Inoki vs. Jushin Liger will be our final match-up in the Cruiserweight Tourney. While those two men are preparing themselves, we will have the unique opportunity to witness the first-ever crowning of the American Tag Teams Champions, brought to you by Wednesday Night Warfare! Unfortunately, Warfare General Manager Daytondave seems to have been called away to attend to other issues. So, it will be my privilege to call this match between two young, up-and-coming teams with the championship up for grabs! HCW WARFARE AMERICAN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPTHE NAPTOWN DRAGONS (SCOTTY VORTEKZ & "DIEHARD" DUSTIN LEE) vs. THE BACKSEAT BOYZ (TRENT ACID & JOHNNY KASHMERE)(Referee: Joe Kopasz)This match was wild, as both teams hit hard and double-teamed frequently. Trent Acid was stunned by a Double Dragon, but managed to tag out to Johnny Kashmere. Johnny overpowered Scotty Vortekz, and nearly caught a pinfall with a Cradle Breaker! But Dustin Lee was alert, and was able to assist Scotty with a brilliantly executed Kiss of the Dragon! Kashmere was pinned cleanly, and the Dragons laid claim to the American Tag Team Titles! WINNERS: THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS(Vortekz pinned Kashmere after a Kiss of the Dragon)THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS CAPTURE THE AMERICAN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPJR: Ladies and gentlemen, I am sincerely impressed with the talents and the teamwork of both of those teams! Daytondave may have his issues in terms of running a promotion, but clearly he has put together an exciting tag team division with some fine young talent. Congratulations to both teams, and especially to your new American Tag Team Champions, the NAPTOWN DRAGONS!As JR congratulates the champions, he is interrupted by KURT ANGLE, who leaves his seat, storms to the announcers' table, and grabs a microphone. Angle: Fine young talent? JR, you gotta be freakin' kiddin' me! Those scrawny little punks wouldn't last five minutes in a place like Tradition! All this flipping and flopping doesn't impress me one bit! And besides, this Dungeons and Dragons business is for 12-year-olds! So you tell Barney and Puff over there that if they want some REAL competition, they need to come on up to Tradition to prove themselves! JR: Um, forgive me, Mr. Angle, but Barney is a dinosaur, not a dragon. Angle: You listen to me, pipsqueak. Don't you EVER correct an Olympic Gold Medal winner! JR: Of course not, Mr. Angle. I won't let it happen again. I hope that you and your friends continue to enjoy the evening. Angle: Fat chance. Angle drops the microphone and returns to his seat alongside the Irish Airborne, Chris Jericho, Furnas, Kroffat, and So Cal Val.JR: Be that as it may... congratulations are in order to Scotty Vortekz and Dustin Lee. And now, fans, I am honored to bring you the final match of the Cruiserweight Tournament! HEARTLAND CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING CRUISERWEIGHT TOURNAMENT: FINALSANTONIO INOKI vs. JUSHIN "THUNDER" LIGER(Referee: Nick Patrick)As the introductions were being made, Jushin Liger was surprised to be approach by an adoring fan from ringside! A tall, lanky young man with a tossled mop of curly red hair and thick plastic rimmed glasses rushed the ring with a hand-drawn sign: LIGER IS MY FAVORITE! The fan managed to climb into the ring, and attempted to present Liger with a picture, but security officials escorted him out of the ring and away from the premises. JR: Now THAT was truly bizarre! Who knew that NAPOLEON DYNAMITE was a wrestling fan? Whether it was the inspiration of his #1 fan, or the adrenaline rush of the moment, Liger came out on fire! His aerial assault was unstoppable, and Inoki was completely on the defensive. After a flurry of koppo kicks and a scintillating Liger Dive, Inoki fell prey to the Fisherman's Buster and a clean pinfall defeat! WINNER: JUSHIN "THUNDER" LIGER(Liger pinned Inoki after a Fisherman's Buster)After the match, COUSIN LUKE came to the ring and presented Liger with a trophy. The remaining cruiserweight competitors each congratulated Liger with a handshake in a marvelous show of sportmanship and respect. MIKE QUACKENBUSH also came to the ring to congratulate Liger and raise his hand in victory.JR: A tremendous cruiserweight tournament! All seven matches were top quality, and it bring joy to my heart to see the respect which these competitors have for one another, and for this great sport. Congratulations to Jushin Liger for his victory! As the cruisers celebrated, without warning, the wrestlers from Tradition hit the ring! Angle, Jericho, and the others began to attack the cruiserweights and hurl them out of the ring. Tiger Mask was thrown into the seats at ringside! The Irish Airborne executed a vicious double suplex on Drake Younger, then Jake Crist superkicked Younger over the top rope and down to the arena floor. Kurt Angle dropped Sabu with an Olympic Slam, then wrapped him up in an ankle lock which left the helpless Sabu screaming! Furnas and Kroffat cleared the ring of the remaining cruiserweights. Jericho grabbed the trophy and busted it over the head of Liger!JR: You have got to be kidding me! The men of Tradition have stooped to a new low! We need some help out here- and fast! Heartland Security men rushed to the ring, only to be beaten back by the Tradition wrestlers. Heartland wrestlers began dashing to the ring, led by DAYTONDAVE and LARRY SWEENEY. The Tradition wrestlers fled quickly, once they saw that they were outnumbered. GIANT BABA, HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN, and PLAYBOY BUDDY ROSE helped to clear the ring. Sweeney was accompanied by CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI and CHRIS HERO. In the middle of the fracas, Chris Hero grabbed Mike Quackenbush and slammed him to the canvas! Hero produced a metal chain from his tights and viciously attacked the fallen Quackenbush. The other Heartland wrestlers stared in disbelief for a moment, then Buddy Rose quickly jumped on Hero and shoved him out of the ring. JR: I don't believe what I just saw! Chris Hero has just turned his back on Heartland and attacked Mike Quackenbush! The Heartland Security officers rounded up the boys from Tradition and escorted them from the building. Chris Hero was also removed from the arena by security. As So Cal Val was escorted out, she turned to Daytondave and Larry Sweeney and blew them a kiss. JR: Fans, I do not know what just happened here. Commissioner Luke has left the building, ostensibly to follow the security detail and help to get this mess sorted out. The crowd is shocked by this development, and the Heartland locker room is an angry mob scene. But we still have a Heavyweight Championship match to conduct! The most professional, hardest-working referee in the business is in the ring, and we are ready for the Main Event! MAIN EVENT: HEARTLAND HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TAKESHI MORISHIMA (c) vs. BRUISER BRODY(Referee: Joe Kopasz)As anticipated, the battle of the monsters broke down into a full-out brawl! Brody started quickly, surprising the champion with a pair of stunning dropkicks! Morishima was reeling, and rolled out of the ring. Brody pursued him, but Morishima caught Brody and sent him hurtling face-first into the ring post! Brody went down, and Morishima took the opportunity to catch a breather. The match returned to the ring, where Morishima took control. After stunning Brody with a massive kick to the face, the champion went to work with the Saito Suplex. Morishima connected twice, and scored near-falls after each attempt. Brody became frustrated, and hurled Morishima out of the ring a second time. This time, Morishima landed awkwardly, and Brody was able to get the best of him. Bruiser lifted Takeshi high and slammed him to the concrete floor with a thunderous powerbomb! Brody rolled back into the ring, but Morishima lay stunned on the arena floor and was unable to recover before Joe Kopasz completed the ten-count. Brody was awarded the victory by count-out. WINNER: BRUISER BRODY(Brody wins by countout after a powerbomb on the arena floor)TAKESHI MORISHIMA RETAINS THE HCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPJR: Ladies and gentlemen, what a brutal confrontation we have just witnessed! Both these monsters brought their best match tonight, and to no one's surprise, the contest ends with a broken body on the arena floor and no clear winner. For tonight, Morishima will keep his title, but this issue is far from settled and I there is no question that these two men will be competing against each other again- title or no. We'll need an official ruling from COUSIN LUKE on this situation, but the Commissioner has other business to conduct at the moment and so we'll wait and see how this plays out. What an intense ending to a most unusual night of wrestling, ladies and gentlemen. Once again, we congratulate the NAPTOWN DRAGONS for winning the American Tag Team Championship. And as always, folks, we thank you so much for joining us. Be sure to tune in on Wednesday night for the next episode of Warfare. I do hope that broadcast will bring some clarification to what has been a bizarre night indeed. Until then, fans, so long from the Wolverine State!

Heartland Championship Wrestling Wednesday Night Warfare January 28, 2009 (Card #191) Civic Theater, Port Clinton, Ohio The show opens with Warfare General Manager DAYTONDAVE in the ring, accompanied by LARRY SWEENEY. Sweeney appears agitated as he begins to rant.Sweeney: Port Clinton, Ohio? This is hardly a venue suitable for Sweet and Sour, Incorporated! We should be on the shores of Lake Tahoe, not Lake Erie! Daytondave: Honestly, Larry, I don't know what Commissioner Luke is thinking. But we have other issues to deal with. Fans, good evening and welcome to Wednesday Night Warfare! Heartland Championship Wrestling is honored to be back in action tonight with another exciting card of wrestling action. We have just witnessed a terrific pay-per-view broadcast at Heartland Havoc XXIII, but I must admit that the events which took place that night have raised as many questions as they have answered. Once again, those unwanted scoundrels from TRADITION have shown up and disrupted the proceedings. And to make matters worse, SO CAL VAL and her pals up north have decided to raid the Heartland talent base. In case you weren't one of the eight people who saw the most recent Tradition broadcast, I have asked WILDMAN BUTCH MICHAELS to prepare a video clip from that show. Footage is shown of RAVISHING RICK RUDE, who made his way into the ring holding the Midwest championship belt, wearing a black suit and tie he is accompanied to the ring with two lovely ladies, one on each arm to the delight of the crowd. Rude gets into the ring, gives a smirk to Val who smiles back at him as he takes the microphone from her hand…
RUDE: “Well, well, well, how things can change within a 48 hour period! Larry Sweeney as far as I am concerned you fat pig, you can stick everything you promised me up your ass! Let’s just say this lovely lady in this ring has already given me more then any man would possibly want…speaking of lovely ladies this brings me to that whore slut Tammy Stych, Candido all I have to say is you better get your insides checked out by your man doctor because that loose bitch you got in your corner, lets just say she has been around that corner and back quite a few times. Now that I have aligned myself with true class, I don’t have to prove to anyone anything wrestling in this ring, let’s just say I have more priorities with this young lady…so I drop this title to make it vacant and the winner of this little tournament tonight will carry around the 10 lbs. of gold.”
Val then handed Rude his HEARTLAND contract, which Rude spit on a ripped up in the middle of the ring!Daytondave: So, it appears that Ravishing Rick Rude has left the Heartland and will be part of the new Tradition federation. That will be an improvement to both our organizations! Good riddance, you arrogant SOB. Now- Without warning, CHRIS HERO storms the ring and slaps Larry Sweeney violently in the face knocking the shades of his former agents to the mat! Then rips the microphone from the hand of Sweeney who has a look of disbelief! Hero: Honest to god people, what I just did to this fat piece of shit, wasnt for the pop or the approval of the fans...you know who it was for....ME! THIS YOUNG KNOCK OUT KID! For years Sweeney you and I have traveled up and down the roads, and to be quite honest, most of the time I can honestly say you annoy the hell out of me..and your breath smells like moose piss...dont ask me how that happened...but damn there is only so much that a HERO can take! The reason I stayed with you this long was A. a certain booking committee and B. I have to give you credit you did show me alot of money threw the years...no question...that is until recently that is...you have been so hell bent on this little side project with this DAYTON guy that I have not been making as much money like an agent should be getting forhis TOP talent! So... I get a call from Rob Bennett and he gets me in touch with Val...you needless to say gave me an offer I couldnt refuse...and in doing so cutting myself free from your greasy oily paws! For years, wrestling fans have wanted Chris Hero to go big time, for years they have been saying that Chris Hero has been wasting away in the independents, this young knockout kid has got to much god given talent to be slumming along the bottom of the barrel! Well I am here to tell everyone that CHRIS HERO has hit the big time, and it starts right now with me kicking this fat pigs ass! Hero sucker-punches Sweeney, who drops to the mat motionless. CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI and ADAM PEARCE race to the ring. Pearce checks on Sweeney as Castagnoli chases Hero away from the ring. Claudio takes the microphone.Claudio: Why am I not surprised, Chris Hero, that you take the easy way out? You took the easy way out when that dirty witch stole from me, and now you go again. Well, I don't need you! And I am going to hurt you! Why don't you come back tonight and bring that filthy Rick Rude with you? Me and Adam Pearce will fight you in this ring! Claudio throws down the microphone. After several minutes, Pearce is able to help Sweeney to his feet. Sweeney is still groggy as he takes the microphone.Sweeney: Chris Hero... I made you... and I will break you! You will pay for this... you think it bothers me that you want out? I have already signed your replacement... and Sweet and Sour, Inc. will be stronger than ever! Daytondave: Fans, I am still shocked by the events we have seen. That Young Knockout Kid is still a very dangerous man, as Sweeney has just learned. Now, can we finally see some wrestling action? (Tonight's referee: Heather Owens)TIGER MASK vs. DAN "THE BEAST" SEVERNTiger Mask started the match with a frenzy, and hit Severn with some remarkable flying moves. But Severn was able to turn the tempo and slow the match down, overpowering Tiger Mask and forcing an agonizing submission. WINNER: DAN SEVERN(Severn forced Tiger Mask to submit to the Wakigatame)Daytondave: Win or lose, Tiger Mask always puts on an amazing match! His match against Jushin Liger at Havoc was nothing short of spectacular. The Space Flying Tiger Drop is a thing of beauty! He nearly toppled the Beast with that manuever. But in the end, the good big man defeated the good little man. Good news, fans, Larry Sweeney seems to be okay now, and he's ready to lead his forces into action in our next contest. COWBOY BOB ORTON (w/ LARRY SWEENEY) vs. ANTONIO INOKISweeney got right back to work after the attack by Hero. Orton was in desperate straits after being trapped in the Octopus hold, but a distraction from Sweeney interrupted the match and turned the odds in his man's favor. After Inoki survived two superplexes, Orton dropped him with a Death Valley Driver and scored the victory. WINNER: COWBOY BOB ORTON(Orton pinned Inoki after a Death Valley Driver)Daytondave: I never expected Orton- or Sweeney, for that matter- to show such resilience! As Sweeney and Orton celebrated, the face of RAVISHING RICK RUDE appeared on the Erietron.Rude: Hey! Sweeney! So nice to see you back among the world of the living. My boy Chris Hero packs a wallop, doesn't he? (Hero joins Rude on camera)Rude: Now I promised Val that I was finished with your two-bit promotion. But since you made the invitation, I think I will come back to the Heartland for one last ass kicking! So Sweeney, get your boys Pearce and Claudio ready, 'cuz me and Hero accept your challenge and we will be there TONIGHT! Daytondave: Well! I guess our main event is signed for tonight! Rude and Hero will be on hand, at least for one last hurrah, to face ADAM PEARCE and Claudio! DELIRIOUS vs. GORGEOUS GEORGE (w/ CHERIE DUPRE)In a truly goofy matchup, Delirious started slowly as he was distracted by the beautiful Cherie at ringside. But the masked man finally got his focus and tore through the Gorgeous one, keeping him on the defensive with a frenetic flurry leading to a clean pinfall. WINNER: DELIRIOUS(Delirious pinned George after the Chemical Imbalance #2)Daytondave: I've never seen anything quite like that, fans! Somewhere deep in that demented mind, I suspect there is a method to his madness. It's good to see Delirious back in action! Now, we'll see the return of another man who has been MIA- TITO SANTANA! Santana is being reunited tonight with his tag team partner PEPPER GOMEZ for a match with championship implications. WARFARE AMERICAN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: QUALIFYING MATCH PELIGROSO (TITO SANTANA & PEPPER GOMEZ) vs. THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS (w/ OLIVER HUMPERDINK)The Mexicans looked sharp and the match was highly competitive. After multiple tags and well-executed double-teams, BG caught the opponents with a double clothesline and pinned Gomez with a pump handle slam! WINNERS: THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS(BG pinned Gomez with a Pump Handle Slam)Daytondave: The Outlaws are at the top of their game! They have earned a world title shot against Bobby Heenan's team of OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO- but even if that doesn't work out, they are positioning themselves for another run at the American Tag Team Titles! We also need to find a #1 contender for the American Heavyweight Championship held by DANNY HODGE. Hodge will face the winner of our next match in his first title defense! AMERICAN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: #1 CONTENDERS' MATCH KONNAN (w/ OLIVER HUMPERDINK) vs. SABUThe homicidal, suicidal, genocidal maniac was in brutal style tonight, more intent upon destroying Konnan than defeating him. It didn't take Sabu long to get himself on the wrong side of referee Heather Owens. After Sabu whipped Konnan to the steel railing outside the ring, Heather immediately called for the bell and awarded the match to Konnan. WINNER: KONNAN(Sabu disqualified for outside of the ring mayhem)Daytondave: This Sabu character is unpredictable and he is a menace. But I don't think he is quite bright enough to move up the ladder. The title match now belings to Konnan- can he unseat Danny Hodge and capture the American Championship? Ironically enough, before he tore up his contract, RICK RUDE was in line for a contenders' match. But now, we'll see the Ravishing One alongside Chris Hero in what they both have promised will be their LAST Heartland Match. Normally, the GM is supposed to be a neutral observer in these matches- but tonight I'll be Larry Sweeney's Number One Fan. MAIN EVENT: NO DISQUALIFICATION GRUDGE MATCH RAVISHING RICK RUDE & CHRIS HERO (w/ SO CAL VAL) vs. CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI & ADAM PEARCE (w/ LARRY SWEENEY)The hostilities between these teams nearly broke out before the opening bell! Hero and Claudio erupted into a fierce argument at ringside! Sweeney desperately tried to get after Hero, but Adam Pearce held him back. Senior Official JOE KOPASZ came to the ring, and assisted Heather Owens in getting the action under control. Claudio continued to scream at Hero as Pearce entered the ring to start the match. As soon as Heather called for the bell, Hero rolled Pearce into a small package and held him down for a three-count! WINNERS: RICK RUDE & CHRIS HERO(Hero pinned Pearce with a Small Package)After the decision, Claudio appeared stunned. Pearce staggered to his feet, then turned and cold-cocked Claudio! Claudio went down, and Hero and Pearce began putting the boots to him. Rude grabbed Larry Sweeney and held his arms back, allowing Val to slap him! As Pearce continued to pound away on Claudio, Hero went to ringside and retrieved Claudio's Million Dollar Jacket! Pearce held Claudio down, forcing him to watch as Hero ripped the jacket to shreds! Rude dropped Sweeney with a Rude Awakening, and Sweeney and Claudio were left laying in the ring as Val led Rude, Hero, and Pearce away from the ring as the Port Clinton fans booed loudly.Daytondave: Adam Pearce?!? What the hell are you thinking? Adam Pearce has turned on Sweet & Sour, Inc. and joined forces with So Cal Val. What a humiliating night for Larry Sweeney and Claudio Castagnoli. Sweeney just had the taste slapped out of his mouth by So Cal Val, and has lost not one, but TWO of the building blocks of his Corporation. And Claudio has lost his prized possession to the same broad who cleaned out his bank account! What a horrific night it has been, fans. We'll just have to wait and see how Sweeney and Claudio respond next. I guess that wraps it up for tonight, ladies and gentlemen. Be sure to tune in on Saturday Night for the next broadcast of Old School. JR James has announced a title match for Saturday Night, where we'll see the Great Lakes Championship on the line as the champion, NICK BOCKWINKEL, defends his title against the dynamic JIMMY "SUPERFLY" SNUKA! And of course, we'll be back next week with another edition of Warfare. Until then, fans, that's our show, and I AM OUTTA HERE!Warfare American Champion: DANNY HODGE Warfare Tag Team Champions: THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS Warfare Combat Champion: THE MISSING LINK

Heartland Championship Wrestling Old School Saturday Night January 31, 2009 (Card #192) Joyce Center, South Bend, Indiana The show opens with JR JAMES in the center of the ring, dressed sharply in a blue blazer with a gold tie, accompanied by HCW Commissioner COUSIN LUKE.JR: Wow! Fans, welcome to HCW Old School Saturday Night! Can you believe that we are coming to you live from the campus of Notre Dame University? It's great to have Old School back out on the road - and at a legendary venue! Commissioner, congratulations on the rebirth of Heartland Wrestling! Luke: Thanks, Jimmy. Y'all deserve the best. JR: And we owe it all to the great fans throughout the Midwest. Ladies and gentlemen, we have an outstanding show for you tonight. The Great Lakes Heavyweight Championship is on the line tonight as the champion, NICK BOCKWINKEL, defends his belt against "SUPERFLY" JIMMY SNUKA! And, we have another no-disqualification grudge match set for HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN as he takes on KING KONG BUNDY. But first, our esteemed Commissioner has asked for time to make an important announcement. Luke: This ain't so good, Jimmy. Did y'all see what my uncle, BIG DADDY ELMER done at Havoc th' other night? The Irishtron lights up with highlights of a fracas which took place at Havoc XXIII. Big Daddy Elmer is shown, sucker-punching Hillbilly Jim and smashing him across the back of the head! Luke: Now y'all know, JJ, that we can't have our rasslers knockin' around our referees! Elmer, you know yore family and I will always love you, but you are SUSPENDED for the next two weeks! And if you hurt another referee in my company, I will FIRE you! JR: Strong words, and strong actions from the Commissioner! If you ask me, Elmer is getting off easy, but I respect the decision that you have made, Luke, and here's hoping that this suspension will set your uncle straight once and for all! Now, let's head to the ring for tonight's opening contest! (Tonight's referee: Nick Patrick)GIANT BABA vs. MASKED SUPERSTAR (w/ SLICK)The big Baba controlled most of the action, despite Superstar's best efforts to keep it competitive. Superstar grew more frustrated as the match wore on, and eventually the action spilled out of the ring where a fierce brawl broke out. Superstar refused to return to the ring, and was disqualified when he continued to pummel Baba on the arena floor. After Nick Patrick called for the bell, referee Charles Robinson sprinted to ringside and helped Patrick to restore order quickly and escort both men to the dressing room.WINNER: GIANT BABA(Superstar disqualified for brawling outside the ring)JR: Fine teamwork by the Old School officiating crew. They immediately took control of that situation and prevented it from escalating. Now, fans, I am pleased to introduce a brand new tag team to the ranks of Old School! Please welcome Red Bastien and Billy "Red" Lyons, the Flying Redheads! THE FLYING REDHEADS (RED BASTIEN & BILLY "RED" LYONS) vs. JIMMY & JOHNNY VALIANTThe Valiant Brothers were in no mood to serve as cannon fodder for the debuting Redheads. Jimmy and Johnny went right to work, executing several vicious double-team attacks and destroying Red Bastien, pinning him before his partner Lyons was even able to tag in to the match! WINNERS: THE VALIANT BROTHERS(Jimmy pinned Bastien after a Top Rope Elbow)JR: How about that, wrestling fans? The Valiant brothers made a powerful statement with that victory. That has got to be a disappointment for the Redheads. Perhaps we can get a word with Billy "Red" Lyons in the wake of that stunning defeat. Billy, can you join us for a few moments here at the annoucers' table? Lyons looks unhappy, but heads toward the table. Jimmy Valiant rudely cuts in front of Lyons and grabs the microphone.Jimmy: Now look here, JR James! You don't need to interview these newbies. Me and Johnny just took them apart! Why don't you give a little more credit to the winners of that match! The Valiant Brothers belong at at the top of the tag team division! JR: Well certainly, Jimmy Valiant, there is no question that congratulations are in order after tonight's outstanding performance. But don't forget, just two weeks ago, the Valiant Brothers lost their match against THE KILLER BEES. You are not the top team in Old School- or even the number one contenders. That distinction belongs to LARRY & CURT HENNIG. The Hennigs did defeat THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS, as you may recall, to earn the top spot and the match against THE ARMSTRONGS for the tag team championship. Before Jimmy can respond, THE VACHON BROTHERS storm to ringside. MAD DOG VACHON shoves Jimmy Valiant away from the announcers' table and NIKITA BREZNIKOV grabs the microphone.Breznikov: You are delusional, JR James! There is only one worthy tag team in this Old School. My Vachon Brothers are number 1! The Vachons have struck the first blow in this war for the Armstrong Family and Bob Armstrong can barely walk after this destruction! No Armstrongs! No Hennigs! No Valiants! Destruction to the evil Americans! The Foreign Legion demands our match to become champions! JR: With all due respect, Mr. Breznikov- are you mad? How can you come out here and demand a title shot for your Vachon Brothers- they haven't even had an Old School match! Breznikov: JR James, you are infidel! You must not deny the Foreign Legion our rightful place at the top of the world. Infidels must be destroyed! Brenikov takes his riding crop and whacks JR James across the chest. JR tumbles backward, trips over his chair and falls to the floor. The Vachons immediately begin putting the boots to the fallen General Manager.Breznikov: Destruction to all infidels! Destruction to the evil Americans! The pummeling continues on JR until CURT & LARRY HENNIG sprint to ringside and jump on the Vachons. Breznikov begins whacking at Curt Hennig with his riding crop! Johnny Valiant shoves Larry Hennig and a shouting match develops. The Vachons continue to stomp on JR until BRAD & BOB ARMSTRONG dash to the scene! The Armstrongs' arrival prompts the Vachons to beat a hasty retreat. Breznikov drops the microphone and scurries to safety as Bob and Brad chase the Vachons back to the locker room.Curt Hennig: Vachon Brothers! You want to stir up trouble! Look no further! The Hennigs are the best tag team in the Old School. And more importantly, the Hennigs don't take any crap from anybody! You want to disrespect the Hennig family- we'll show you a beating like you have never experienced. Me and my dad want a match with you lunatics. If you beat us, you can have our title shot! But you better come strong and be ready for the fight of your lives! Curt throws the microphone on to the table. Larry Hennig helps JR to his feet, then joins Curt as they storm out of the ring area and back to the dressing room. The fans cheer the Hennigs wildly, but Larry and Curt are focused and scowling as they push through the curtains and exit the scene.JR: Fans, I am stunned. Everybody knew that the Vachons bring nothing but trouble. I thought it was gonna be a long night for good ol' JR James- but I never would have expected that the Hennigs would be the men to make a stand! Indeed, their attitudes have changed 180 degrees in response to this challenge. As Old School General Manager- I declare that this match is ON! One week from tonight, the Hennigs will get their wish. It will be the Hennigs against the Vachons- and the winner will be officially named the number one contenders to the United States Tag Team Championship! JR takes a moment to regain his composure and takes his seat at the announcers' table.JR: I am pleased indeed that situation is over. Let's head back to the ring for our next match! DICK HUTTON vs. DON LEO JONATHANHutton pulled off a surprise victory over the giant Mormon, who appeared shaken up after tumbling out of the ring following a missed charge at the turnbuckle. The savvy Sooner wasted no time in wrapping up his foe for a clean submission victory! WINNER: DICK HUTTON(Hutton forced Jonathan to submit to an Abdominal Stretch)JR: That was a stunning result indeed! No question, most observers felt that Jonathan's size and agaility gave him a decided advantage in that matchup, but in the game of human chess any outcome is conceivable. THE KILLER BEES (B. BRIAN BLAIR & JUMPIN' JIM BRUNZELL) vs. TEAM CANADA (THE MOUNTIE & ANGELO MOSCA)The Bees had the advantage throughout the match with frequent tags and effective offense. After Mountie narrowly escaped a Brunzell sleeper hold, he managed a tag to Mosca. Mosca took the brawl out of the ring, where Blair annihilated him with a slingshot plancha! Mosca attempted to fight back, but Blair blocked his attempt to run him into the ring post. Instead. it was Blair who rammed Mosca into the steel railing, forcing Nick Patrick to call for the bell! WINNERS: TEAM CANADA(Blair disqualified for ramming Mosca to the security railing)JR: That's something you very rarely see- the Killer Bees getting disqualified! But after the events at Heartland Havoc XXIII, it is not surprising that our officials are tightening up on their enforcement of the rules. The Canadians and the Bees are about the only two tag teams who weren't involved in that earlier situation, but sure enough, the intensity level has peaked throughout the entire locker room. Fans, who will be the next challenger to RAY "CRIPPLER" STEVENS for the United States Championship? We'll know the answer to that question after our next match. UNITED STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: #1 CONTENDERS' MATCH BOBO BRAZIL (w/ SLICK) vs. JOHNNY VALENTINEIn a dramatic match, Bobo fought back after a rousing comeback by Valentine to narrowly earn a victory. After Valentine survived several Coco Butts, Brazil surprised him by coming off the top turnbuckle with a devastating cross-body block to gain the victory! WINNER: BOBO BRAZIL(Brazil pinned Valentine after a Cross-Body Block off the top turnbuckle)JR: What a battle! Brazil and Valentine both left it all on the mat tonight. So now, Brazil moves on to face the Crippler for the top title in the Old School! That will also be a wonderful exhibition of wrestling, completely unlike what we are about to witness in this next bout. GRUDGE MATCH: NO DISQUALIFICATION KING KONG BUNDY (w/ JIM CORNETTE) vs. HACKSAW JIM DUGGANBundy took the measure of Duggan in a decisive way! Inside the ring and out, the massive Bundy overwhelmed and overpowered Hacksaw. A powerbomb on the arena floor nearly broke Duggan in half, but Bundy wasn't finished. King Kong smashed Duggan headfirst onto the steel ring steps for good measure, then rolled him back into the ring for an Avalanche and a five-count. WINNER: KING KONG BUNDY(Bundy pinned Duggan after the Avalanche)After the decision, Bundy stood over Duggan and looked as if he were preparing to inflict further punishment as JIM CORNETTE cheered him on! But out of nowhere, HARLEY RACE appeared at ringside! Race grabbed Cornette by the shoulder and spun him around, poking a finger in his chest and shouting. Cornette's eyes popped open and his jaw dropped. He motioned to Bundy, who slid out of the ring and stepped toward Race. Cornette took the opportunity to turn and sprint away from the ring area! Race glared at Bundy, but Bundy followed Cornette back to the locker room with no further incident.JR: Ouch! Duggan took a serious beating in that match! But Cornette was lucky to avoid that same fate after beating a hasty retreat away from Harley Race. Will these two cross paths again? That remains to be seen. Now, fans, it is time for the Main Event match-up that you have been waiting for! The Great Lakes Championship match is on tap and we are ready for Old School action at its finest. Heartland Championship Wrestling Wednesday Night Warfare February 4, 2009 (Card #193) Fremont Community Center, Fremont, Ohio The show opens with Warfare GM DAYTONDAVE in the ring, accompanied by HCW Commissioner COUSIN LUKE. Before Daytondave can begin his introduction, a commotion arises at ringside as CHRIS JERICHO and LANCE STORM make their way to front-row seats. Daytondave appears distracted, but attempts to continue the show.Daytondave: Hey, fans, welcome back to Heartland Championship Wrestling for another great episode of Wednesday Night Warfare! We have a terrific show for tonight. The American Heavyweight Championship will be defended tonight, right here in the bustling metropolis of Fremont! The champion, DANNY HODGE, is here to defend the title against KONNAN. We'll see if the Mexican legend can take down the champion. But, before we get started tonight, our Heartland Commissioner has an announcement for you. Cousin Luke, what's going down? Luke: Daytondave, I done heard that polecat, CHRIS HERO, wantin' to challenge MIKE QUACKENBUSH for the Candy Cup. All I got to say is, Chris Hero, the answer is naw. The Candy Cup is only for cruiserweights- 225 pounds or less. And I reckon that yore a few sacks o' taters bigger'n that. Less'n you can pass a weigh-in, you ain't no contender for the Candy Cup! Jericho and Storm stand up at their ringside seats, booing lustily and taunting Luke and Daytondave.Jericho: Quackenbush is chicken! Storm: Quackenbush can't handle the heat! Jericho: Chris Hero ROCKS! Storm: Warfare is for losers! Luke looks confused, so Daytondave takes the microphone and attempts to regain control of the show.Daytondave: Fans, we're sorry for the disturbance. We've got plenty of great matches to get things rolling tonight, so grab yourself a cold one, relax, and enjoy the show! (Tonight's referee: Heather Owens)THE SANDMAN (w/ JONNY FAIRPLAY) vs. DENNIS CONDREYSandman came out "all business" tonight and quickly dispatched Condrey with a crushing DDT. WINNER: THE SANDMAN(Sandman pinned Condrey after a Hardcore DDT)Daytondave: A solid performance by the Sandman! He took the fight right to Condrey, and in that situation there is no doubt that Sandman would have the upper hand. As The Sandman and Jonny Fairplay left the ring, Sandman stopped and stared down Jericho and Storm. Jericho stood up and went nose-to-nose with Sandman before Fairplay stepped in a pulled Sandman away from the confrontation. As Sandman turned away, Jericho reached over Jonny's shoulder and slapped Sandman across the face! Sandman went ballistic, pointing and screaming at Jericho as Fairplay held him back. BIG JIM THE ENFORCER quickly rushed to the scene and escorted Sandman back to the locker room.Daytondave: What a piece of garbage! That jerk Jericho is gonna get himself in too deep if he isn't careful. Fans, LARRY SWEENEY has asked for this opportunity to introduce the newest addition to his collection of talent. So, Mr. Sweeney, come on down and let's see what you got! Sweeney hits the ring and takes the microphone.Sweeney: That's right, fans, Sweet and Sour Incorporated will never back down! You Tradition scumbags may think you got one over on Larry Sweeney, but you're dead wrong! I consider this to be an opportunity! An opportunity for Sweet & Sour Incorporated to upgrade out talent roster! Larry Sweeney has just signed a man who will set the Heartland on fire! No doubt he is handsome, but he's no stranger! Some may know him as Marcus, but to Sweet & Sour Inc, he is The Stuff! Fans get on your feet and put your hands together for BUFF BAGWELL!BUFF BAGWELL (w/ LARRY SWEENEY) vs. CHRIS CANDIDO (w/ TAMMY LYNN SYTCH)Referee Heather Owens certainly had her hands full in this match! Between Sweeney, Tammy, and the ringside antics of Jericho and Storm, Heather was at a loss to control the action inside and outside of the ring! Lance Storm harassed Heather repeatedly through the match, allowing both Tammy and Sweeney to take advantage. Candido appeared to have Bagwell beaten after hitting the Blonde Bomb, but Heather was focused on Storm long enough to allow Sweeney to pull Buff's leg over the bottom rope and interrupt the count. Candido went for another Blonde Bomb, but this time Bagwell powered out and responded with a crushing blockbuster! When Tammy attempted to save her man, she was grabbed by Jericho long enough for Heather to make the three count and award the victory to Bagwell! WINNER: BUFF BAGWELL(Bagwell pinned Candido after a Buff Blockbuster)Daytondave: I've seen about enough of this! Somebody will HAVE to put these two clowns in their place! That was a very competitive match between two fine performers. You can count on those bush leaguers from Tradition to try and steal the spotlight from an excellent contest. Unfortunately, Big Jim the Enforcer is still handling the situation with The Sandman backstage. As Jericho and Storm continue to mouth off, a hush comes over the crowd! Through the curtain emerge JUSHIN LIGER, TIGER MASK, and HCW Heavyweight Champion TAKESHI MORISHIMA. Without a word, Morishima takes a seat next to Jericho, puts a hand on his shoulder, and pulls him down into his chair. Jericho recoils and sits silently. Tiger Mask stands in front of Storm and points to his chair. Lance reluctantly sits, while Liger enters the ring and takes the microphone.Liger: Chris Jericho... you dishonor yourself and your company with your misdeeds. You attack man from behind. You destroy cruiserweight trophy. You humiliate honorable MASA CHONO. And tonight, you disgrace yourself shamelessly by assaulting lady. Chris Jericho, you are man without honor! In my country, a man without honor is not a man! Chris Jericho, you come face me TONIGHT! Daytondave: Strong words from Jushin Liger! Chris Jericho, will you face Jushin Liger here tonight? Jericho sits silently, snarling at Liger.Daytondave: How about that, fans! I think we have a match tonight! Chris Jericho versus Jushin Liger, right here in Fremont! But fans, we still have some Heartland action to come, so let's get back to action! Liger leaves the ring area and returns backstage, while Morishima and Tiger Mask remain at ringside, standing guard over Jericho and Storm to prevent any further interruptions.NECRO BUTCHER vs. CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI (w/ LARRY SWEENEY)With Sweeney shouting his encouragement, Claudio came right after Necro and floored him with a kick to the face for a stunningly quick victory! WINNER: CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI(Castagnoli pinned Necro after a Scissor Kick to the Face)Daytondave: A very good night for Larry Sweeney! Both Bagwell and Claudio come out victorious on this night. Sweet and Sour, Incorporated seems to be regaining its momentum after a very difficult time last week. WARFARE AMERICAN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: QUALIFYING MATCH BLOODLUST (JUSTIN CREDIBLE & DRAKE YOUNGER w/ JONNY FAIRPLAY) vs. THE BACKSEAT BOYZ (TRENT ACID & JOHNNY KASHMERE)This match was nothing short of disastrous for the team of Bloodlust! Credible tried to surprise Kashmere with a flying elbow, but Johnny ducked away and Justin smashed Younger on the top of the head! Younger was disoriented and staggered out of the ring, leaving Credible to fend for himself. The Backseat Boys rode the momentum, punishing Credible with a series of double-teams. When Jonny Fairplay tried to interfere, Acid dropkicked him off the ring apron! From there, it was easy pickings for Kashmere to finish off the victory. WINNERS: THE BACKSEAT BOYZ(Kashmere pinned Credible with the Cradle Breaker)Daytondave: The Backseat Boyz were by far the better coordinated team in that match. One more victory, and they will be in line for another crack at THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS for the American Tag Team Championship! But finally, fans, it's now time for the American Heavyweight Championship match-up! I can't wait to see how this contest goes down. MAIN EVENT: WARFARE AMERICAN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP DANNY HODGE (c) vs. KONNAN (w/ OLIVER HUMPERDINK)The champion was in control throughout this match, frustrating Konnan with his superior tactical skills. When Konnan attempted to take the action to the floor, Hodge responded aggressively, ramming the Mexican's head into the ringside table. Konnan was completely blown up at this point, and unable to escape the champion's deadly submission hold. WINNER: DANNY HODGE(Hodge forced Konnan to submit to an Abdominal Stretch)DANNY HODGE RETAINS THE AMERICAN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPDaytondave: What a dominant performance by the champion! Any man who wants to take that belt will need to come strong. Who will be the next in line for a title match? Fans, you'll just have to wait and see. Okay, folks, we are done here- except for one unresolved issue. JUSHIN LIGER has laid down the challenge to CHRIS JERICHO. What's the word, Jericho? You gonna get in the ring, or what? JUSHIN LIGER strides to the ring with determination. Jericho appears reluctant to enter the ring, but Morishima dumps him over the security railing and Tiger Mask rolls him under the bottom rope and into the ring. Heather Owens calls for the bell, and the impromptu match begins!SPECIAL CHALLENGE MATCH JUSHIN "THUNDER" LIGER vs. CHRIS JERICHOLiger pounced on Jericho the moment he hit the ring, pummeling his foe with a flurry of high-speed kicks! Jericho backpedalled quickly and tried to escape from the ring, but Liger caught him and turned him over to deliver a crushing tombstone piledriver! Jericho barely moved as Heather counted the pinfall. WINNER: JUSHIN "THUNDER" LIGER(Liger pinned Jericho with a Tombstone Piledriver)Daytondave: Wow! Jericho showed up here tonight as one cocky SOB- but Liger has put him in his place. Jushin is enjoying a well-deserved celebration with his pals, Tiger Mask and HCW Heavyweight Champion Takeshi Morishima. Poor Jericho is left to lick his wounds. I bet he and Storm will be embarrased to show their faces back at that promotion up north. But as far as I am concerned, that match was the perfect ending to what has been a rough night here on Warfare. We're done here, fans, but don't forget to come back on Saturday night for the next broadcast of Old School. The HCW Tag Team Championship will be on the line when OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO defend the belts against THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS. That confrontation has been brewing for some time, so you will NOT want to miss it! Until then, fans, that's our show, and I AM OUTTA HERE! Heartland Championship Wrestling Old School Saturday Night February 7, 2009 (Card #194) Assembly Hall, Bloomington, Indiana The show opens with JR JAMES in the ring, prepared to address the crowd.JR: Good evening, fans, and welcome to tonight's edition of Old School Saturday Night! Heartland Championship Wrestling is proud to be broadcasting live from the campus of Indiana University! And ladies and gentlemen, I have just been informed that the Hoosier State will play host to our next HCW pay-per-view. Heartland Havoc XXIV: Takin' Care of Business will eminate from the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Saturday night, March 7! Bachman-Turner Overdrive will supply the theme music for this great event. . And tonight, fans, we have some huge matches planned which will help determine exactly who will be headed to Indianapolis to take care of business at Havoc XXIV! Our main event for the evening will be the much-anticipated Heartland Championship Wrestling Tag Team Championship bout pitting the champions, OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO against their heated rivals, THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS. Now, let's head to the ring for tonight's opening contest! (Tonight's referee: Charles Robinson)THE DESTROYER vs. THE CRUSHERIn a wild, back-and-forth brawl, both men were exhausted when Crusher finally put the Destroyer down. WINNER: THE CRUSHER(Crusher pinned Destroyer after a Crusher Bolo)JR: How about that, fans! Can you believe The Crusher survived Destroyer's Figure-4 Leglock - TWICE? Very impressive victory indeed for Da Crush. HARLEY RACE vs. "MAGNIFICENT" DON MURACOIt was a grinding and intense struggle, but Race capitalized on a mistake by Muraco to prevail. After stunning Harley wuth an Asiatic Spike, Muraco foolishly charged into the turnbuckle, where Harley caught him with a powerful knee to the head to set him up for a brutal piledriver. WINNER: HARLEY RACE(Race pinned Muraco after a Piledriver)JR: No question, Harley Race is a grandmaster in the game of human chess. He was a move ahead of Muraco in that situation and it was all over. THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (STAN LANE & BOBBY EATON w/ JIM CORNETTE) vs. GREG "THE HAMMER" VALENTINE & BRUTUS "THE GEEK" BEEFCAKEThe flow of this match was surprising, as Hammer and Beefcake controlled the action throughout. Stan Lane was isolated in the ring for a prolonged period, allowing Beefcake and Valentine to take turns pounding away with punches and chops. Valentine did most of the damage, and finally wrapped up Lane into a Figure-4 Leglock! Cornette finally jumped onto the ring apron and side-tracked Charles Robinson, allowing Eaton to help Lane escape. This brought HARLEY RACE to ringside to once again confront Cornette! Both the Midnights came to their manager's defense, but Harley stood his ground and a shouting match erupted. When Valentine attempted to take advantage and back-jump Eaton, Lane saw him coming. Sweet Stan took the tennis racket from Cornette and crushed Valentine across the head, opening a nasty gash. Robinson disqualified the Midnights for the use of the foreign object. WINNERS: GREG "THE HAMMER" VALENTINE & BRUTUS "THE GEEK" BEEFCAKE(Stan Lane disqualified for striking Valentine with a foreign object)After the decision, Bobby Eaton took a cheap shot at Harley Race! Race was unhurt by the blow, and HCW security quickly intervened to get the situation under control. As Race was taken out of the ring area, Cornette stormed to the announcers' table and grabbed a microhpone.Cornette: Race! You no good scalawag! You have stuck your nose in my business for the last time! Harley Race, I am calling you out! You find youself a tag team partner and come face my Midnight Express! You hear me, you ugly cretin? JR: Wow! Jim Cornette has just thrown out a challenge to Harley Race! I don't know whether Race has a tag team partner to face the Midnights, but no question he will be recruiting for that opportunity, and my guess is that there will be no lack of interested parties. This should be a very interesting situation indeed. IRON SHEIK (w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV) vs. KING KONG BUNDY (w/ JIM CORNETTE)Bundy and Cornette were in no mood for any further shenanigans after the confrontation with Harley Race. Bundy overpowered the Sheik and wore him down with multiple bear hugs. When Breznikov tried to interfere, Bundy simply tossed him out of the ring, then put Sheik down with an Avalanche and pinned him with a five-count. WINNER: KING KONG BUNDY(Bundy pinned Iron Sheik after an Avalanche)JR: A dominant performance by Bundy! Suddenly, we don't hear any of the inflammatory rhetoric from Breznikov. I suppose he is savvy enough to know when to pick his battles. The maniac has been smart enough to manuver his new tag team, THE VACHON BROTHERS, into position for a chance to earn a title match, before they have even stepped into the ring! Let's take a look at a special video recap of the emergence of the Vachon Brothers onto the tag team scene. Footage is displayed from Kent, Ohio, where the Vachons make their first entrance into the Heartland, jumping BOBO BRAZIL. The scene shifts to one week ago in South Bend, Indiana, where JR JAMES is attacked by NIKITA BREZNIKOV and the Vachons. The Vachon Brothers stomp on a fallen JR until LARRY & CURT HENNIG come to his assistance.JR: A special thanks to "WILDMAN" BUTCH MICHAELS for putting together that outstanding package! And now, fans, it is time for the confrontation between the Vachons and their new rivals, CURT & LARRY HENNIG!UNITED STATES TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: #1 CONTENDERS' MATCH THE VACHON BROTHERS (w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV) vs. LARRY & CURT HENNIG The rhetoric of Breznikov proved to be more threatening than his tag team! Larry Hennig dominated both Vachon Brothers, and pinned Mad Dog in short order as the fans cheered wildly. WINNERS: LARRY & CURT HENNIG(Larry pinned Mad Dog after a Double Forearm Hammer)After the pinfall, the Vachons weren't satisfied. Butcher clubbed Larry across the back, knocking him to the mat! Curt tried to come to the rescue, but Breznikov pulled him off the ring apron and began beating him with this riding crop. Larry managed to get to his knees, but Butcher trapped his arms, allowing Mad Dog to punch him repeatedly on the head. Once Larry collapsed to the mat, Mad Dog viciously scraped his boot across Larry's forehead, opening a nasty gash. Butcher pulled Larry back to his knees and sunk his teeth into Hennig's forehead, sending blood spurting. THE IRON SHEIK arrived, and assisted Breznikov in putting the boots to Curt on the arena floor. Just as Iron Sheik was loading his boot, BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONG dashed to ringside! The Armstrongs and the Hennigs were able to turn the tide of the battle, and Breznikov quickly called for his men to retreat to the locker room.Breznikov: The Foreign Legion has struck a blow against the wicked Satan! Destruction to the evil Americans! JR: How about that, wrestling fans? The US Tag Team Champions just came out to resuce the number one contenders! And it looks like Bob Armstrong is back to 100% on that leg. Too bad we can't say the same thing about Larry The Axe- he got busted up pretty badly. The Hennigs are now in line for a shot at the Armstrongs, but indeed both these teams are in agreement in their opposition to Nikita Breznikov and the Vachon Brothers. What a dramatic turn of events! And before the dust has settled, we still have our Main Event to come! Another Tag Team Championship and another heated rivalry awaits, Old School Style! MAIN EVENT: HEARTLAND CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO (w/ BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN) (c) vs. THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS (KIP JAMES & BG JAMES w/ OLIVER HUMPERDINK)Zbyszko and Baker were unstoppable in this showdown! Kip James was the victim of a perfectly executed strategy, as the champions florred him with a devastating double clothesline. Zbyszko then hurled Kip to the arena floor, and pounded him down severely against the steel security railing! Heenan kept referee Charles Robinson occupied, while Baker held off BG James and allowed Zbyszko to administer more punishment. Zbyszko hurled Kip back into the ring, and finished him off as Baker dispatched BG. WINNERS: OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO(Zbyszko pinned Kip with a Piledriver)OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO RETAIN THE HCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPJR: A powerful statement by the tag team champions! Ladies and gentlemen- Before JR can finish his finale, BOBBY HEENAN strides to the table and grabs the microphone.Heenan: You see that, Outlaws? How about the rest of HCW? Look, humanoids, it's not 2008 any more! You bozos can have your Tag Team of the Year award. 2009 is the year of the Heenan Family, and nobody will stop us! Heenan throws down the microphone and returns to the celebration with his champions.JR: No question, I cannot argue with Bobby Heenan on this night. His tag team continues to roll over the competition. Even the best team of 2008 was no match for Baker and Zbyszko here tonight. It has been a night of dominant performances indeed, but none moreso than our tag team champions. Mr. Heenan is certainly on a roll! One week from tonight, we'll see his United States Heavyweight Champion, RAY "CRIPPLER" STEVENS, defend his title against a formidable challenger in one BOBO BRAZIL. So be sure to tune in next Saturday night! And don't forget, the HCW telecast of Wednesday Night Warfare this week as DAYTONDAVE and his crew will be back in action! Until then, fans, so long from the Hoosier State! So grab yourself a cold one, relax, and enjoy the show! (Tonight's referee: Joe Kopasz)As Joe Kopasz prepares the ring, TITO SANTANA storms through the curtain and grabs a microphone.Santana: Listen up, you people! Missing Link! It's time for you to face me man to man! You and me need to settle this once and for all, amigo! So bring your Combat Championship belt and bring your floozy little referee friend and prepare to meet your destiny! MISSING LINK bursts through the curtain, scowling. Referee HEATHER OWENS is by his side. Link removes the Combat title belt, hands it to Heather and dashes to the ring. Link and Santana immediately begin pounding away at each other!Daytondave: Whoa! Dudes! This is not a scheduled match- but it's 24/7 rules and the Combat Title is up for grabs! WARFARE COMBAT CHAMPIONSHIP MISSING LINK (c) vs. TITO SANTANATo no one's surprise, this confrontation was not a match as much at it was a war. Link immediately tore into Santana, raking his face and biting his forehead cruelly. Santana fought back, attempting to slow down the onslaught with dropkicks and a hurracanrana, but Link went to the arena floor. Santana made a huge mistake by following Link out of the ring, and Tito paid for it with a mouthful of the steel ring steps. With Santana reeling, Link wailed away with a series of chair shots and pinned Tito cleanly on the arena floor. WINNER: THE MISSING LINK(Link pinned Santana after a Chair Shot)MISSING LINK RETAINS THE COMBAT CHAMPIONSHIPDaytondave: Brutal! Tito has picked up his aggressiveness with this new attitude, but he is still in way over his head against a guy like Missing Link. Does anyone else dare to come after the Combat Championship? Now, perhaps, we can get started with tonight's regularly scheduled matches. ANTONIO INOKI vs. TOM PRICHARDPrichard came to the ring cocky and arrogant, taunting Inoki as he fluffed his hair and flexed his biceps. But Inoki was not to be humbled. The Japanese star took to the air, surprising the crowd and stunning Prichard with an aerial flurry to record a decisive win. WINNER: ANTONIO INOKI(Inoki pinned Prichard after a Flying Shoulder Block)Daytondave: All the fluffing and flexing won't get you anywhere if you can't get it done in the ring, Prissy Boy! That was one strong effort by Inoki this evening in the battle of the cruiserweights. And fans, speaking of cruiserweights, I am pleased to welcome a special guest here to Warfare this evening! He is one of the top cruiserweights in the industry, and a former Heartland Heavyweight Champion. Fans, put your hands together for the one and only "Fallen Angel", CHRISTOPHER DANIELS!Daniels rises from his ringside seat and acknowledges the cheers of the crowd.KONNAN (w/ OLIVER HUMPERDINK) vs. TIGER MASKTiger Mask dazzled the crowd with his aerial manuvers, blasting Konnan with a tope suicida and a Space Flying Tiger Drop! But Konnan caught Tiger Mask on the ring floor and sent him careening to the security railing. This slowed the high-flyer substantially, and Konnan ground the match to a crawl. After wearing Tiger Mask down, Konnan locked in the Tequila Sunrise and Tiger Mask was unable to escape. WINNER: KONNAN(Konnan forced Tiger Mask to submit to the Tequila Sunrise)Daytondave: You gotta hand it to Konnan, fans. I thought he was dead to rights when Tiger Mask nailed him with those flying flip-flops. Now, fans, before the next match, my pal LARRY SWEENEY has an announcement for us! LARRY SWEENEY struts to the ring, accompanied by CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI. Sweeney: Ha-ha-ha-ha! Daytondave, my man, what did I tell you? The lame-ass loser CHRIS HERO couldn't last one match without Larry Sweeney guiding his footsteps. That's right, Sweet and Sour, Incorporated won't miss a beat without him. And that goes for you, too, Adam Pearce! You listen to me, you bald-headed Repo Man wanna-be! After Claudio cleans up Delirious, Sweet and Sour has a surprise for you- courtesy of our Warfare General Manager! We're calling you out, Scrap Daddy- you wanna turn your back on Larry Sweeney? You wanna backstab Daytondave and the entire Warfare locker room? Tonight, Adam Pearce, you're gonna get what you deserve! Daytondave smiles at the camera.Daytondave: Right on, Larry. Adam Pearce screwed you, me, and the entire HCW- and tonight he will pay a SERIOUS price! But first things first, it's time for Claudio to strut his stuff! DELIRIOUS vs. CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI (w/ LARRY SWEENEY)Back and forth this match went for nearly 15 minutes! Delirious started quickly and frustrated Claudio by tying him up in knots. Claudio nearly tapped out to the Cobra Stretch, but managed to reach the ropes. Action spilled out of the ring at a frenetic pace, but Castagnoli finally managed to turn the tables by smashing Delirious face-first onto the steel security railing. Claudio took over from there, hammering Delirious with a springboard European uppercut and putting him down with the Ricola Bomb for the victory. WINNER: CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI(Claudio pinned Delirious after a Ricola Bomb)Daytondave: Claudio is motivated now! With Hero and Pearce out of the picture, the big Swiss grappler is now the focal point of Sweet and Sour, Incorporated. And later tonight, we'll all get to see what lies ahead for Adam Pearce. Without warning, PLAYBOY BUDDY ROSE and TRINITY DENUCCI emerge from backstage.Trinity: Boys, show the video! The Falcontron lights up and footage from the Putnam County Farigrounds is displayed. LARRY SWEENEY bursts through the curtain with a microphone, shouting at Page.
Sweeney: How do you like THAT, Mr. Good Times? Who's the High Roller now? Kick him, Kings! Pound him into the concrete!
Hero and Claudio continue to pummel DDP as Sweeney addresses the crowd.
Sweeney: All right, you losers, here's your party animal pal!
He sees the limo pulling away, and rushes to aid the fallen Trinity. Rose: Sweeney, you slimy SOB! Don't you think for one minute that the Rollers have forgotten about you! Just because you have your little problem with SO CAL VAL and those Tradition jabronis, don't expect ME to feel sorry for you. Claudio Castagnoli, you are first on my list. I'm taking you out- right here, on Warfare, next week! Do you have the guts??!? Heartland Security forces rush to get between Rose and Sweeney. Claudio waves his arms at Rose, beckoning him to come fight, but Rose and Trinity are quickly escorted back to the locker room.Daytondave: Do you believe that? What goes around, comes around, they say- and it looks like we have a major grudge match signed for next week! Playboy Buddy Rose just laid down the challenge to Claudio- and next Wednesday night, it's ON!!! Holy smokes, things just keep getting more and more out of hand here at Warfare! And we still have three big matches ahead- including our next contest, and number one contenders' match for the American Tag Team Championship! THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS emerge through the curtain, preparing to enter the ring for their match. As the Outlaws pass by Sweeney and Claudio, words are exchanged. BG and Kip smirk at Sweeney as they climb into the ring, where THE BACKSEAT BOYZ await.WARFARE AMERICAN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: #1 CONTENDERS' MATCH THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS (KIP & BG JAMES w/ OLIVER HUMPERDINK) vs. THE BACKSEAT BOYZ (TRENT ACID & JOHNNY KASHMERE)When Joe Kopasz called for the bell, Kip James climbed out of the ring while BG continued jawing with Sweeney. BG scoffed at Sweeney and gave him a crotch chop gesture. The moment he turned his attention to the ring, the bell sounded, and Trent Acid greeted BG with a crushing Yakuza Kick! BG went down, and before Kip or Humperdink could react, Trent covered BG, and Kopasz delivered the three count! WINNERS: THE BACKSEAT BOYZ(Trent Acid pinned BG James after a Yakuza Kick)Daytondave: Whoa! Un-freaking-believable! The Backseat Boyz just knocked off the Outlaws! BG James was caught completely off-guard, and Trent Acid took advantage! The Backseat Boyz are once again the number one contenders, and headed for another match against the reigning champions, THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS, for the American Tag Team Championship! LARRY SWEENEY returns to the ring with a smirk, while Humperdink and the Outlaws argue and storm back to the locker room.Sweeney: Ha-ha-ha-ha! Outlaws, you stink! Can anyone say, 'OVERRATED'? This night just keeps getting better and better for Sweet and Sour, Incorporated! So now, Adam Pearce, it's time for you to pay the piper. Come on out here, you piece of garbage! The music, "Beverly Hills" plays overhead, and ADAM PEARCE emerges through the curtain, accompanied by SO CAL VAL and RAVISHING RICK RUDE. Pearce: Larry Sweeney- you think I'm afraid of you? You are jerk and you are a swindler! The day I left Sweet and Sour was the happiest day of my life. So go ahead, bring out Cowboy Bob Orton, bring out Buff Bagwell, bring out whoever you want to. Scrap Daddy is ready! Daytondave: That all sounds well and good, Pearce. But you didn't just turn your back on Sweet and Sour. You turned your back on Heartland Championship Wrestling, my friend, and as General Manager, I don't take that lightly. So, let me bring out your opponent for this evening... BRUISER BRODY!The madman Brody storms down to the ring. Rick Rude quickly hustles So Cal Val out of the ring to safety. Pearce is not so fortunate! His eyes widen in horror as Brody stomps toward him. Joe Kopasz calls for the bell and the match begins!GRUDGE MATCH: NO DISQUALIFICATION ADAM PEARCE vs. BRUISER BRODYBrody lit into Pearce and pounded him into the canvas as Val shrieked! Brody nailed Pearce with a series of big boots to the face, and the outcome looked like a foregone conclusion. But Brody's over-exuberance got the best of him, and he went to the top turnbuckle to attempt a deathjump. Rick Rude saw an opportunity, and shoved Brody off the top rope! Brody crashed to the mat awkwardly. Pearce staggered to his feet, and managed to hoit Brody up for a jumping piledriver and a three-count! WINNER: ADAM PEARCE(Pearce pinned Brody after a Jumping Piledriver)After the pinfall, Rude entered the ring with Pearce and began stomping on Brody! Rude and Pearce continued their attack, and So Cal Val opened her purse and produced a pair of handcuffs. Before Brody could be cuffed to the ring post, BUFF BAGWELL and COWBOY BOB ORTON sprinted to the ring! Rude and Pearce quickly bailed out. LARRY SWEENEY returned to the ring and grabbed the microphone. Sweeney: Rick Rude! Adam Pearce! You cowards! How pathetic was that! You bozos are lucky to be alive right now. Sweeney and Orton help Brody back to his feet.Sweeney: What so you say, Brody? Are you going to let those idiots get away with that? I've got an offer for you, Mr. Brody, sir. Why don't you sign on with Sweet and Sour, Incorporated, and we can all work together to destroy those clowns? Brody looks down at Sweeney. He rears back and launches a powerful right hand, clobbering Sweeney on the side of the head and knocking him to the canvas. Brody leaves the ring, pushing past Rude and Pearce and returning to the locker room. Orton tends to Sweeney while Bagwell takes the microphone.Bagwell: Um... that's okay, we don't need Brody anyway! Rick Rude, Adam Pearce- you scumbage are going to pay! If you two have the guts, me and Orton will take you on- face to face- at Heartland Havoc! What do you say, boys? Rude and Pearce quickly agree to the match, as Val smiles and Orton helps Sweeney to his feet.Daytondave: Fans, what a scene we have just witnessed! Adam Pearce just pinned Bruiser Brody! That is the most shocking thing I have seen in a long time, folks. And Brody was not at all interested in sticking around to help Larry Sweeney, but it will be Bagwell and Orton challenging Pearce and Rude to a tag team matchup at Heartland Havoc XXIV. I thought Brody would put a quick end to Adam Pearce, but Pearce and Rude got the best of the big man tonight and they will live to fight another day. And that day will be Saturday, February 28, when this tag team showdown will take place! But ladies and gentlemen, tonight's action still hasn't been completed! We still have our Candy Cup Cruiserweight Challenge match to come. MIKE QUACKENBUSH and JUSHIN "THUNDER" LIGER are ready to hit the ring next! CANDY CUP CRUISERWEIGHT CHALLENGE MIKE QUACKENBUSH vs. JUSHIN "THUNDER" LIGERLiger put on a fantastic performance, dominating Quackenbush with a dazzling display! Liger nailed Quack with a Rolling Koppo Kick out of nowhere to take control of the match, then delivered a crushing brainbuster. Quackenbush managed to kick out, but Liger kept on the offensive. Liger hurled Quack to the arena floor, then hurled himself over the top rope with a slingshot plancha, sending Quackenbush crashing to the guardrails! Quackenbush managed to stagger back into the ring, but Liger picked him up into a Fisherman's Buster and scored a clean pinfall. WINNER: JUSHIN "THUNDER" LIGER(Liger pinned Quackenbush with a Fisherman's Buster)JUSHIN "THUNDER" LIGER CAPTURES THE JOHN CANDY MEMORIAL CRUISERWEIGHT CUPAfter the match, Quackenbush required a few moments to regain his bearings. CHRISTOPHER DANIELS entered the ring, and along with Liger, the two assisted Quackenbush to get to his feet. Quackenbush hugged Liger, and called for the Candy Cup to be brought in. Quack took the cup from GM Daytondave and handed to Liger, raising the new champion's hand into the air. Daniels applauded both men and called for a microphone. Daytondave entered the ring and addressed the crowd.Daytondave: What a match! Congratulations to Jushin Liger for an outstanding victory. The athleticism, and level of competition, and the sportsmanship of both these superstars is a fine representation of what Heartland wrestling is all about. And we also thank Christopher Daniels for joining us tonight. Daniels has been a great champion in the Heartland from day one. Mr. Daniels, will we see you back in the Heartland? Are you planning to challenge Liger for the Candy Cup? Daniels: Thank you, Daytondave. I wasn't sure I would get a word in edgewise there. You're right about one thing- I was a great champion in this territory. And you're right about another thing. I do want a piece of Jushin Liger and a shot at that Candy Cup! Without warning, Daniels leaps in the air and nails Liger on the back of the head with an Enzuigiri! Liger drops to the mat, dazed. Before Quackenbush can respond, RICK RUDE and ADAM PEARCE dash into the ring and step in front of Daniels.Daniels: Daytondave- you're an idiot! Why on earth would I come back to this worthless federation? To wrestle in high school gymnasiums? To listen to you and Larry Sweeney gush over each other? The answer is NO. Not just no- HELL NO! I'm signing with TRADITION, baby! So Cal Val rocks! Here's the deal, Daytondave. I will come back to Heartland for one match, and one match only. I want Liger- I want the Candy Cup- and I want to get the hell out of the Heartland and never look back! Daniels shoves the microphone into the chest of Daytondave and leaves the ring with Pearce, Rude, and Val as the crowd sits in stunned silence.Daytondave: Why, you arrogant little prick! You can forget about wrestling one match here, ever again. Get out, and STAY out! Fans, I must apologize for what you have just witnessed. We've had a great card tonight, and an awesome main event! So let's not forget the awesome quality of action here in HCW and on Wednesday Night Warfare. Congratulations to THE BACKSEAT BOYZ! As a result of tonight's victory, they will be back for next week's Main Event- an American Tag Team Championship bout against the current titleholders, THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS. And don't forget to tune in on Saturday Night for Old School. That's our show, and I AM OUTTA HERE! Heartland Championship Wrestling Old School Saturday Night February 14, 2009 (Card #196) Hulman Center, Terre Haute, Indiana The show opens with Old School General Manager JR JAMES in the center of the ring, preparing to address the crowd.JR: Good evening, fans, and welcome to Old School Saturday Night! Heartland Championship Wrestling is proud to be coming to you live from the campus of Indiana State University with an exciting night of wrestling action. As JR gives his introduction, his microphone cuts out. He appears puzzled. The tune "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred plays overhead, and VELVET SKY and ANGELINA LOVE strut to the ring. Both are dressed in tiny red bikinis with bunny ears and cotton tails. The girls shimmy and shake around the ring. Angelina dances around JR, wiggling her hips seductively and winking at the crowd. Velvet tossles JR's hair and plants a kiss on his cheek as she takes the microphone.Velvet: Hello, JR.... Daytondave didn't tell me you were sooooo handsome! JR blushes noticeably. Angelina presents him with a heart-shaped box of chocolate candy.Velvet: Happy Valentine's Day from your friends at Wednesday Night Warfare! Angelina and Velvet each plant another kiss on each of JR's cheeks, then strut out of the ring, high-fiving the fans on the way back to the locker room. JR is visibly flustered, and both his cheeks are covered in hot pink lipstick.JR: Ahem.... uh... where was I? Wrestling... yeah... we're gonna have wrestling tonight. As JR stammers, HCW Commissioner COUSIN LUKE comes to the ring, accompanied by MISS BERTHA. Luke: Jimmy? Are you okay? I think you better set a spell. Somebody get Jimmy a glass of cold water! Like ol' JJ was sayin', we got lots o' great rasslin' fer ya tonight! We got the United States Heavyweight Championship! RAY STEVENS is fixin' to defend his title agin' BOBO BRAZIL- that oughta be a good ol' barnburner of a fight! And also, fellers 'n gals, we got a special announcement fer Heartland Havoc. The Main Event will be a rematch fer the Heartland Heavyweight Championship! The champion, TAKESHI MORISHIMA, is gonna rassle BRUISER BRODY one more time! Them two fellers have already had a couple of knock-down drag-outs, and two weeks from tonight they're gonna hook up agin! WILDMAN BUTCH MICHAELS arrives from backstage with a glass of water. JR is still pale, and his mouth is hanging open. His hair is disheveled and his hands are shaking. He reaches for the glass of water, but Luke takes the glass from Butch and dumps the water over JR's head. JR jerks back to alertness and shakes his head, sending water droplets flying in all directions. MISS BERTHA carefully waves her hand in front of JR's eyes, then quickly reaches down and snatches the box of candy. Butch retrieves a towel from ringside, allowing JR to wipe his face as Luke and Bertha leave the ring. JR emerges from the towel, his hair standing up straight and his face covered with streaks of pink lipstick as he regains his composure and takes the microphone.JR: And a Happy Valentine's Day to you, fans of the Heartland! Now, let's head to the ring for tonight's opening contest! (Tonight's referee: Nick Patrick)HEARTLAND CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING SIX-MAN TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT: FINALS JOHNNY VALENTINE, GREG "THE HAMMER" VALENTINE, & BRUTUS "THE GEEK" BEEFCAKE vs. NICK BOCKWINKEL, THE CRUSHER, & "MAGNIFICENT" MURACOBockwinkel and his crew were simply too tough for the opposition in the tourney final. Each man took turns beating down both Valentines before Bockwinkel finished off Beefcake to end it. WINNERS: NICK BOCKWINKEL, THE CRUSHER, & "MAGNIFICENT" MURACO(Bockwinkel pinned Beefcake after a Piledriver)JR: Those are three of the most rugged individuals in the sport, ladies and gentlemen. Congratulations to Bockwinkel, Crusher, and Muraco for an outstanding match and a terrific tournament! Those three individuals will split the $30,000 top prize for that victory! THE IRON SHEIK (w/NIKITA BREZNIKOV) vs. THE DESTROYERThe Sheik was at the peak of his cruelty, torturing Destroyer with the Boston Crab and the Camel Clutch! But Destroyer endured the moves and fought back.Sheik nearly succumbed to the Intelligent Sleeper Hold, but made it to the ropes to force Nick Patrick to call for the break. Sheik left the ring to talk with Breznikov, but Destroyer followed him and an intense brawl broke out on the arena floor! Patrick did his best, and managed to corral Destroyer back into the ring before Sheik shoved him to the floor. Infuriated, Patrick called for the bell and awarded the victory to the Destroyer as the result of a disqualification. WINNER (via Disqualification): THE DESTROYER(Iron Sheik disqualified for brawling outside the ring)After the decision, Destroyer went after the Iron Sheik again! Both men latched onto each other with a death grip, until Nick Patrick called for assistance to separate the combatants. Before the man were separated, THE VACHON BROTHERS dashed to the ring and tried to subdue Destroyer! No sooner did the Vachons arrive, than BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONG came to ringside and pulled Destroyer to safety.JR: What a fracas! Those Vachon Brothers are not going to get away with anything- not with BOTH the Hennigs and the Armstrongs watching their every move. And as if Breznikov and his men weren't trouble enough, we are now going to be treated to JIM CORNETTE and THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS- so let's head back to the ring. THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (STAN LANE & BOBBY EATON w/ JIM CORNETTE) vs. THE FLYING REDHEADS (RED BASTIEN & BILLY 'RED' LYONS)This match was back and forth throughout. Billy 'Red' Lyons went on a rampage early in the match, landing big offensive moves against both Midnights. But Billy spent himself, and the Midnights capitalized, working him over and setting him up for a beautifully executed Rocket Launcher. It looked like curtains for the Redheads, but Bastien made the save. When Bastien interfered, Jim Cornette got involved, smacking the redhead in the back with his tennis racket! Nick Patrick did not see the interference, and the match continued. But Cornette's involvement did drew the ire of HARLEY RACE, who stormed to the ring and pulled Cornette off of the apron! Cornette went down, and both Eaton and Lane came to his aid. Lane attacked Race, who backpedalled up the ring ramp with both Midnights in pursuit! Unfortunately, the Express failed to realize the Nick Patrick was putting on the ten-count. Patrick called for the bell, and declared the Redheads to be victorious! WINNERS: THE FLYING REDHEADS(Lane counted out)As the brawl spilled up the ramp, BIG JIM THE ENFORCER quickly arrived on the scene to restore order. This time, it was Race who made it to the microphone first, growling at Cornette.Race: Jim Cornette- you are pathetic! I proved it last week, and I proved it again here tonight! You need to get over yourself. You want to get me in the ring with your Midnight Express? You got it. I've got a partner lined up for you- next week- but I've got a little stipulation of my own. Cornette: Stipulation? What stipulation? Race: Simple. When me and my partner beat your Midnight Express, YOU- Jim Cornette- are going to get in the ring and face my new manager! Cornette: Manager? What the- ? You haven't got a manager! Who the hell are you talking about? Race: What's the matter, Cornette? Are you chicken? You want out? Fine. I'm perfectly happy to show up every week and cost your team matches. Cornette: All right! All right! I don't know who the hell you're bringing on as a "manager", but I ain't afraid of any of them! Bobby Heenan? He's old, fat, and slow. Slick? I'll break that skinny Michael Jackson wanna-be in half! Race, you got your match! JR: Fans, you heard it straight from the horse's mouth! We'll see Harley Race and his mystery partner next week to face the Midnight Express. And who will the manager be? If the Midnights lose, Cornette himself will have to step into the ring and face Harley's new manager! What a stunning turn of events indeed. Let's head back to the ring for our next match- Jim Cornette's work here tonight is not finished! 'SUPERFLY' JIMMY SNUKA vs. KING KONG BUNDY (w/ JIM CORNETTE)In a thrilling non-title match, both men nearly destroyed each other before it was over. Snuka hit Bundy with everything in his arsenal, but seemed unable to do any significant damage to the big man. Bundy powered back and had Snuka in bad shape, but could not force the Superfly to submit to the big bear hug. Snuka found his way out with a gouge to the eyes, then put Bundy down with a tremendous chop and connected with his Superfly Leap! Cornette managed to distract Nick Patrick long enough to allow Bundy to recover. Snuka went back to the top rope, but on the second occasion he missed his target and crashed to the mat! Bundy immediately went for the Avalanche, but insisted on a 5-count, and Snuka escaped at four-and-a-half! Bundy went on a rampage, but Snuka caught him with an elbow as he rushed to the turnbuckle. Another leap frog and a devastating chop put Bundy down, and Snuka covered him for the three-count! WINNER: JIMMY 'SUPERFLY' SNUKA(Snuka pinned Bundy after a Leap Frog and Chop)JR: What a match! Snuka is a dangerous man, no question he has more weapons than just the Superfly Leap. Can he hold on to the Great Lakes Championship? He has already signed to defend that title against the former champion, NICK BOCKWINKEL, at Heartland Havoc XXIV in a match that you won't want to miss! STEVE 'DR. DEATH' WILLIAMS & 'HACKSAW' JIM DUGGAN vs. THE VACHON BROTHERS (MAD DOG & BUTCHER VACHON w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV)The reunited duo of Duggan and Williams thrilled the fans with a hard-fought victory over the Vachon Brothers! The Vachons were very effective with double-teams in the early stages of the match, and eventually isolated Williams in the ring. A bite from the Butcher opened a gash on Doc's forehead, and both Vachons worked over the wounded area until Williams bled profusely. But Williams fought on, surviving the Butcher's Hangman and finally making the desperation tag to Duggan. Hacksaw entered with a flurry, pummeling both men and overpowering Mad Dog and putting him down for the victory! WINNERS: STEVE 'DR. DEATH' WILLIAMS & 'HACKSAW' JIM DUGGAN(Duggan pinned Mad Dog with a Flying Spear)JR: What an exciting match! What an exciting team! This duo of Williams and Duggan is formidable indeed. They went head up against a rugged team in the Vachon Brothers, and much to the chagrin of one Nikita Breznikov, came up victorious. HARLEY RACE vs. GIANT BABABaba and Race battled hard, and in a clean and well-fought match-up the Japanese Giant prevailed. WINNER: GIANT BABA(Baba pinned Race with a Russian Leg Sweep)JR: Ladies and gentlemen, that is precisely the type of match that we pride ourselves in here at Old School. No shenanigans, no outsiders, just a battle between two outstanding competitors. No question, my hat is off to both those fine gentlemen. And now, it is finally time for our Main Event Match of the evening! Can BOBO BRAZIL finally capture a taste of the Heartland gold? Not if RAY STEVENS and BOBBY HEENAN have anything to say about it. Let's head back to the ring and see this championship bout! MAIN EVENT: OLD SCHOOL UNITED STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP RAY 'CRIPPLER' STEVENS (c) (w/ BOBBY 'THE BRAIN' HEENAN) vs. BOBO BRAZIL (w/ SLICK)In a surprisingly quick contest, the champion stunned Brazil with a knee to the face and crushed him with the Bombs Away for a shocking victory! WINNER: RAY 'CRIPPLER' STEVENS(Stevens pinned Brazil with the Bombs Away)RAY 'CRIPPLER' STEVENS RETAINS THE OLD SCHOOL UNITED STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPJR: Unbelievable! The Crippler just put away Bobo Brazil with ease! The United States Championship reign continues for Ray Stevens, much to the delight of one Bobby The Brain. And if you will forgive me for saying so, Bobo Brazil is fast gaining a reputation as a man who can't win the big one. I guess it is back to the drawing board for Brazil. Ladies and gentlemen, we thank you for joining us tonight! It has been an honor and a privilege indeed to present this evening's matches. We'll be back next week, with the last show before Heartland Havoc XXIV! Both TAKESHI MORISHIMA and BRUISER BRODY will be on hand to sign the contracts for the Heartland Heavyweight Championship match at Havoc. And of course, don't forget the special tag team challenge match, where THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS will take on HARLEY RACE and a mystery partner. And, in our Main Event next Saturday night, the United States Tag Team Championship will be defended as BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONG square off against LARRY & CURT HENNIG! Until then, fans, so long from the Hoosier State! Heartland Championship Wrestling Wednesday Night Warfare February 18, 2009 (Card #197) Savage Hall, Toledo, Ohio The show opens with Warfare GM DAYTONDAVE in the ring to address the packed crowd.Daytondave: Hey, fans, welcome to Wednesday Night Warfare! Daytondave and the Heartland Championship Wrestling crew are excited to be here with a great card for you. The American Tag Team Championship will be up for grabs in tonight's main event. The champs, THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS, are getting after it with THE BACKSEAT BOYZ! We'll also see a special challenge match tonight, as PLAYBOY BUDDY ROSE seeks his revenge against CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI. And don't forget, folks, this is our last broadcast before Heartland Havoc XXIV: Takin' Care of Business, set for Saturday Night, February 28. We'll have the complete rundown on that card throughout tonight's show. So grab yourself a cold one, relax, and enjoy the show! (Tonight's referee: Heather Owens)DENNIS CONDREY vs. CHRIS CANDIDO (w/ TAMMY LYNN SYTCH)The match started innocently enough, with both men grappling for control. Tempers flared when the match spilled out of the ring, and Condrey appeared to hit Candido with a low blow! Tammy was infuriated, and screamed at Candido to take his revenge. Chris responded violently, whipping Condrey into the steel ring post! While Condrey was still down, Candido gave him a vicious kick to the head, sending his skull careening against the steel ring steps. Heather Owens immediately called for the disqualification. WINNER: DENNIS CONDREY (by disqualification)(Candido disqualified for assaulting Condrey on the arena floor)After the decision, Candido stormed to the announcers' table and took the microphone. Candido: Now that's the way a MAN plays this game! I lost my Tammy once, but it will never, EVER happen again! You wanna screw with Chris Candido? Just try me, sucker! Candido turned to Tammy and pointed to her purse. Tammy reached in, and pulled out a set of brass knuckles! Candido put them on, then jumped on Condrey and pounded on his injured head. Tammy squealed with delight as Candido did his dirty work. When Heather Owens tried to intervene, Tammy blocked her path. The pummeling continued until BIG JIM THE ENFORCER and Heartland Security were summoned to pull Candido away from the fallen Condrey and haul him back to the dressing room.Daytondave: Good lord! I can understand that the man needs to protect his woman, but Candido has completely lost his mind! Condrey is a bloody mess and he looks to be out cold. We're gonna need the EMT's out here to attend to him. You can't blame Heather Owens for that situation- not even a full-fledged SWAT team could have prevented that. Let's pause for a few moments while Condrey is attended to. Daytondave appears stunned as Condrey is placed onto a stretcher and removed from the arena. The fans sit silently until Daytondave regains his composure.Daytondave: Holy crap. Let's hope tonight's next match goes along more smoothly. GORGEOUS GEORGE (w/ CHERIE DUPRE) vs. NECRO BUTCHERNecro Butcher appeared to be inspired by the events of the opening match, as he launched himself into George with a fury. Necro nailed George with a Low Blow on the opening lock-up, then headbutted him into a daze and beat him down brutally in the corner of the ring. Necro drilled his helpless foe with an Asiatic Spike. George tried to escape to the arena floor, but Necro caught him again and sent another Spike squarely into George's neck. Heather Owens finally managed to corral Necro back to the ring, but George remained down at ringside and was unable to respond before the ten-count. WINNER: NECRO BUTCHER(George counted out after an Asiatic Spike)Daytondave: Another brutal bout. What the hell was I thinking? That Necro Butcher was going to come out here and restore some sanity to this madness? Not on your life. And fans, things are about to go from bad to worse- SABU is up next! SABU vs. MIL MASCARASAs Mil Mascaras was being introduced on the entryway, Sabu burst through the curtain and attacked! Sabu got several good shots in before Mascaras caught him with a hip toss and sent the genocidal maniac tumbling down the steel rampway. Before Mascaras could pursue him, TITO SANTANA and PEPPER GOMEZ came through the curtain and jumped him! Mascaras when down, and the dangerous Mexican duo began beating him down. Daytondave: Fans- what on earth is going on now? The men of Peligroso have started another attack on Mil Mascaras! We need help out here- quick! Suddenly, NECRO BUTCHER returned to the scene, jumping on Gomez and pulling him away from the brawl! Gomez and Mascaras battled down the aisle. Sabu got to his feet, and joined with Santana to beat down Mascaras until DELIRIOUS burst onto the scene! Delirious dashed at Santana, and stunned him with a hard knee smash to the side of the head. Santana went down, and Delirious shoved Sabu away and stood over Mascaras until he was able to recover and get back to his feet. Sabu retreated, and Santana remained shaken up. Gomez and Necro Butchercontinued to brawl until HCW Commissioner COUSIN LUKE burst through the curtain.Luke: Enough! Enough! All y'all better quit yer scufflin' NOW! The next feller who throws a punch out here is fixin' ta git suspended! All y'all scram- NOW! There ain't no place fer this kinda violence in rasslin! One by one, the brawlers made their way back to the locker room. Santana was the last to his feet, and Luke grabbed him by the seat of the pants and hurled him back through the curtain.Daytondave: Wow. The frustration level on Warfare has reached the boiling point! Thank goodness that the Commissioner was here to take charge. I can only hope that these dudes will chill out and get their focus back in the ring! BUFF BAGWELL (w/ LARRY SWEENEY) vs. DAN 'THE BEAST' SEVERNBagwell and Severn managed to keep the action in the ring- for the most part. After Severn took an early advantage, Bagwell managed to slip out of the Choke Sleeper and clobber Severn with a flying forearm off the ropes! Bagwell took advantage, connecting with several high-risk manuvers and gaining a couple of near falls! But Severn fought back, taking the match to the mat and stretching Bagwell to weaken him and slow him down. It looked like Bagwell was in serious trouble when Severn locked in the Wakigatame, but Larry Sweeney interjected himself and pulled Bagwell to the bottom rope. Severn was forced to break the hold, and Bagwell capitalized. Bagwell caught Severn by surprise with a double-arm DDT, then went to the top rope and finished off the 'Beast' with a sensation deathjump! WINNER: BUFF BAGWELL(Bagwell pinned Severn with a Flying Cross-Body Block)Daytondave: Hey, that's impressive! Bagwell just took out a very tough opponent- with a little help from his friends. Sweeney has been at the very center of this whole controversy with Tradition which has reared its ugly head again! Sweeney and his Sweet & Sour, Incorporated will have to be at the top of their game at Heartland Havoc XXIV to deal with that turncoat ADAM PEARCE and his boy toy RICK RUDE. Sweet and Sour has two more matches tonight- so let's have a look at COWBOY BOB ORTON!COWBOY BOB ORTON (w/ LARRY SWEENEY) vs. THE SANDMAN (w/ JONNY FAIRPLAY)In a wild brawl, Orton, Sandman, and both managers were involved and the haymakers filled the arena! Heather Owens let most of the action play itself out, as Sandman used the Cane on several occasions and Sweeney blatantly interfered on behalf of his man. With both men clearly exhausted, Heather finally managed to herd the match back into the ring. Sandman was the first man to his feet, and caught Orton with a Hardcore DDT for the pinfall. WINNER: THE SANDMAN(Sandman pinned Orton with a Hardcore DDT)Daytondave: That's it, Heather- let them get it out of their system! Just let the boys fight until one of them can't stand up any longer. Sandman and Orton were evenly matched, but in the end it was the cane that made the difference. Don't get me wrong- Orton proved his toughness out there, and he and Bagwell will both need all the intestinal fortitude they can muster when they meet up with RICK RUDE & ADAM PEARCE at Havoc. Now, here's two more guys with a lot of pent-up frustration to take out in this No Disqualification Grudge Match! GRUDGE MATCH: NO DISQUALIFICATION PLAYBOY BUDDY ROSE (w/ TRINITY DENUCCI) vs. CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI (w/ LARRY SWEENEY)The grudge match between Claudio and Rose was tame by comparison to the rest of the card. Claudio repeatedly outmanuevered Rose and finally put him down with a Roaring European Uppercut. WINNER: CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI(Claudio pinned Rose after a Roaring European Uppercut)Daytondave: Not much of a contest there, folks. The issue between the HIGH ROLLERS and Sweeney goes back to the days before this Tradition thing came along. My guess is, when DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE gets back, we'll see these teams get after each other- but right now, the focus is on Tradition. Let's hear from LARRY SWEENEY about the upcoming tag team showdown. Sweeney: Ten days... just ten short days, Adam Pearce, before Sweet & Sour, Incorporated gets our hands on you! I promise you, Adam Pearce, it's gonna be UGLY! We're talkin' two-bagger, dog-butt ugly! Uglier than even that willowy witch So Cal Val. So take the next ten days, Adam Pearce, and put your affairs in order. Go home to mama and give her a kiss goodbye. Make sure your life insurance is paid up. And prepare for the worst beating you ever experienced! Rick Rude can't save you. Randy Orton? Randy Orton? Ol' Cowboy Bob Orton has turned that little snot-nosed punk over his knee a thousnad times, and he won't think twice about doing it again. It's time for you to pay the piper, Adam Pearce, and there's nothing that you can do to stop us! Daytondave: Strong words, Larry Sweeney. My man is always full of confidence, but you know that So Cal Val will stoop to any length to get one over- so watch you back, jack! MAIN EVENT: WARFARE AMERICAN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS (SCOTTY VORTEKZ & 'DIEHARD' DUSTIN LEE) (c) vs. THE BACKSEAT BOYZ (TRENT ACID & JOHNNY KASHMERE)The Main Event was crisp and competitive, with both teams executing at a high level. Dustin Lee was a stalwart in this match, battling both the Backseat Boyz and frustrating their attempts to isolate him in the ring. After a long struggle, it was Lee who caught Trent Acid coming off the top rope and powerslammed him for the pinfall. WINNERS: THE BACKSEAT BOYZ(Lee pinned Acid after a failed Deathjump)THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS RETAIN THE AMERICAN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPDaytondave: What a match! The Naptown Dragons continue on their run at the top of the tag team ranks on Warfare! Congratulations to Scotty and Dustin for a successful title defense. Fans, we're done here tonight. That match carries a special stipulation- if Race and his partner win the bout, JIM CORNETTE will be forced to step into the ring at Havoc to face Harley's manager! We don't even know who that manager is, so tonight we hope that more of this mystery will be unveiled. Now, let's head to the ring for tonight's opening contest! (Tonight's referee: Charles Robinson)DICK HUTTON vs. HILLBILLY JIMHutton and the Hillbilly engaged in a tightly contested battle. As the match progressed, BIG DADDY ELMER came to ringside and climbed onto the ring apron! Jim was not fazed, and managed to grab Elmer and Hutton for a vicious double noggin knocker! Elmer fell to the arena floor, and Jim managed a near fall, but Hutton kicked out and the match continued. When Elmer made it back to his feet, it was Hutton himself who pointed and glared menacingly, forcing Elmer to back down. Hutton regained control of the match, outmanuvering Jim and gaining a submission victory. WINNER: DICK HUTTON(Hutton forced Jim to tap out to the Abdominal Stretch)After the decision, Hillbilly Jim went to ringside and grabbed the microphone, angrily confronting his Uncle.Jim: Elmer- you done went too far! You try and lay one more finger on me or muss up one of my matches, and I'll give you a whoopin' that would make yore momma proud! Elmer: Now Jimmy, you hush! Yore jus' jealous! You ain't nuttin' but a loser and you aon't good 'nuff to b'long to the Manager of Champions, like me! Jim: I ain't no loser, Elmer. You done forgot everything momma learned you 'bout right and wrong! Elmer: I heard 'nuff outta you, Jimmy. Hows 'bout you n' me settle this once 'n fer all? Jim: You ain't got to ask me twice. How 'bout you agin me next week at Heartland Havoc- Loser Leaves Town! Elmer glares at Jim, his nostrils flaring. BOBBY HEENAN rushes to ringside in an effort to prevent Elmer from taking the match, but Elmer brushes Heenan aside. Elmer spits into his hands, rubs them together, and offers Jim a handshake. Without hesitation, Jim shakes Elmer's hand and walks back to the locker room.JR: Oh, my goodness! The match has been made for Heartland Havoc! It will be Big Daddy Elmer versus Hillbilly Jim in a Loser Leaves Town showdown! Our upcoming pay-per-view has just been taken to another level as the two big hillbilly kinfolk will settle their issue once and for all! Ladies and gentlemen, we are just getting started here tonight and already the fur has begun to fly! Let's head back to the ring for our next match. THE VALIANT BROTHERS (JIMMY & JOHNNY) vs. TEAM CANADA (THE MOUNTIE & ANGELO MOSCA)The Canadians were on point from the opening bell. Mosca survived an opening flurry by Jimmy Valiant, then took over against Johnny and nearly put his lights out with a devastating sleeper hold. Jimmy managed to interrupt the hold, but Mountie tagged into the match and finished off the severely weakened Johnnny. WINNERS: TEAM CANADA(Mountie pinned Johnny Valiant with a Short Choke Slam)JR: An excellent demonstration indeed by both teams. The tag team division here at Old School is deep and talented, all the way to the top of the heap, where BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONG reside. I, for one, am anxiously awaiting tonight's tag team title bout. MASKED SUPERSTAR (w/ SLICK) vs. DON LEO JONATHANIt was 270 pounds versus 320 pounds in a battle of the behemoths. This match was as hard-hitting and intense as you will ever see, with the battle raging inside the ring and out. Superstar seized an opening by going to the top rope and levelling Jonathan with a double axe-handle blow. Jonathan went to the arena floor, but Superstar kept after him and planted him on the concrete with a powerbomb! Jonathan was stunned, and unable to return to the ring before the ten-count. WINNER: MASKED SUPERSTAR (Via Countout)(Jonathan counted out after a powerbomb on the arena floor)JR: That match, ladies and gentlemen, was indeed emblematic of the Old School style of wrestling. Masked Superstar was giving away 50 pounds in that contest, but he had a game plan and he worked it to perfection to bring down a much larger foe. THE DREAM TEAM (GREG 'THE HAMMER' VALENTINE & BRUTUS 'THE GEEK' BEEFCAKE) vs. THE KILLER BEES (B. BRIAN BLAIR & 'JUMPIN' JIM BRUNZELL)As the Bees were being introduced on the entryway, GREG VALENTINE burst through the curtain and clobbered JIM BRUNZELL with a forearm smash! Brunzell went down, and Hammer immediately began stomping a mudhole in him! Blair and Beefcake immediately got involved, and a melee ensued in the entryway! Heartland officials, led by BIG JIM THE ENFORCER, managed to quell the fracas and restore order. After conferring with Charles Robinson, it was announced that the decision was awarded to the Bees by way of a disqualification. WINNERS: THE KILLER BEES(Greg Valentine disqualified after a pre-match attack on Jim Brunzell)JR: What on earth was going through the mind of Greg Valentine? That assault on the entryway was uncalled for, no question about it. Valentine and Beefcake were disqualified, and deservedly so. While Charles Robinson is restoring order, let's take you back stage for the contract signing in preparation for the Championship Match at Heartland Havoc XXIV! The scene shifts to a conference room in the backstage area, where HCW Commissioner COUSIN LUKE is standing at a podium. The room is filled with photographers and interested onlookers.Luke: Welcome, y'all, and thanks fer comin'! We're real excited about our next paper view! Fer the third time, TAKESHI MORISHIMA and BRUISER BRODY are gonna rassle fer the HCW Championship! Fellers, come on out and sign these here contracts! BRUISER BRODY storms through the entrance to the conference room. He scowls at the crowd. Luke points him to the conference table, where he picks up a pen and scribbles his name on the bottom of the contract. Brody: Where's that Japanese guy? I'm ready to fight! TAKESHI MORISHIMA emerges through the opposite entrance. He stares down Brody as he walks to the conference table. He signs the contract, and immediately moves to Brody. The two giants stand nose-to-nose and the tension in the room builds. The room grows silent, except for the clicking of numerous camera. Cousin Luke becomes concerned and moves from behind the podium, cautiously approaching the competitors. After several moments, Morishima offers a handshake to Brody. Brody stares blankly, then accepts the handshake.Luke: See, folks? These two fellers got respect, but they both are ready for a scuffle! Thank you fer- Without warning, Luke is interrupted by the music "Beverly Hills". A commotion erupts, and SO CAL VAL struts into the room. She is followed by RICK RUDE, RANDY ORTON, ADAM PEARCE, CHRISTOPHER DANIELS, and CHRIS JERICHO. Once again, the cameras begin clicking repeatedly as Val brushes past Luke and moves to the podium.Val: Hello, boys! You didn't think that the MEN of Tradition would pass up this opportunity to pay a visit? Of course not! We just wanted to wish you all- or should I say, y'all- the best of luck with your upcoming pay-per-view! (Val bats her eyelashes at the cameras.) After all, it's going to be a loooong night. I also wanted to come and say goodbye to Larry Sweeney. I'm sooo going to miss him. After Rick and Adam destroy poor Buff Bagwell and Bob Orton, then Randy here is going to break Larry Sweeney into a thousand pieces. Mind you, it's for his own good. Larry Sweeney has long outlived his usefulness, but I am going to miss the dear boy... A commotion erupts as WILDMAN BUTCH MICHAELS, BIG JIM THE ENFORCER, and Heartland Security forces pour into the room, but Val holds up her hand and calls for silence.Val: Oh, don't you little toy cops worry about anything. We'll be leaving in just a moment, and we'll go peacefully. Takeshi Morishima... I just wanted to say hello. You are SUCH a big man... and SUCH a fine champion... it seems almost a shame that Chris Jericho is going to have to take you down, too... Morishima growls and lunges after Jericho, but Big Jim and the Heartland security team step between. Jericho quickly slips away and heads for the exit, followed by the remaining Tradition wrestlers, then Val herself. As she departs, Val turns, winks at the camera, a blows a kiss to Morishima, who scowls at her. Morishima fakes another lunge, and Val turns quickly and acurries out of the conference room.JR: What a disgusting display of arrogance! Those types of shenanigans may be standard operating procedure on Warfare, but we here at Old School have much higher standards of decorum indeed. A to interrupt the signing of the Heartland Heavyweight Championship match! That act sinks to new levels of contempt. Those Tradition scoundrels deserve a beating! JR takes a moment to collect himself.JR: Ladies and gentlemen, please forgive me for losing my composure. Let's head back to the ring for some more exciting Old School action. DON MURACO vs. JOHNNY VALENTINEIn a surprisingly one-sided match, Muraco got the best of Johnny Valentine and was relentless in his pummeling. Muraco used his Asiatic Spike with great effectiveness to set up Valentine for a clean finish. WINNER: DON MURACO(Muraco pinned Valentine after a Hawaiian Hammer)JR: Now that is more like it, ladies and gentlemen. What a fine performance indeed by the Magnificent One! That should help his standing in the Old School rankings. But now, fans, it is time for an announcement which we have been awaiting with baited breath. Who has been selected by HARLEY RACE as his tag team partner? We'll know in just a few moments. JIM CORNETTE and THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS storm to the ring in a rage. Eaton and Lane remove their ring jackets and crouch low, pacing nervously as they await the challengers. Cornette waves his arms wildly, in an effort to coax Race to the ring. After several moments, Race emerges from behind the curtain, accompanied by THE CRUSHER!JR: Oh, my goodness! No question, ladies and gentlemen, that Harley Race has found himself a formidable ally! The Crusher has joined Race for this special challenge match! Race and Crusher storm the ring, but the Midnights are ready and the fisticuffs commence!SPECIAL CHALLENGE MATCH: NO DISQUALIFICATION THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (BOBBY EATON & STAN LANE w/ JIM CORNETTE) vs. HARLEY RACE & THE CRUSHERThe Midnights started quickly, taking control with their well-coordinated tag manuevers and taking advantage over the Crusher. After several pinning predicaments, Crusher finally overpowered Eaton, then made a desperate tag to Race! Race took over on Eaton, stunning him with a piledriver! Race then locked Eaton into an Indian Deathlock in the center of the ring! Eaton howled with pain, but Crusher returned to the ring and clotheslined Lane, nearly turning him inside out! Jim Cornette climbed to the ring apron, preparing to waffle Race with his tennis racket. Seemingly out of nowhere, 'SENSATIONAL' SHERRI MARTEL appeared at ringisde and pulled Cornette off the apron! Sherri wound up climbing on top of Cornette, pummeling him with both fists. Eaton was isolated in the ring, and was forced to submit after a prolonged struggle. WINNERS: HARLEY RACE & THE CRUSHER(Race forced Eaton to submit to the Indian Deathlock)JR: That is a spectacular combination of toughness in true Old School style. Harley Race and The Crusher! In their first match together, this duo took the measure of the Midnight Express- with the assist from Sensational Sherri Martel! And now, ladies and gentlemen, it will be time for Jim Cornette to step into the ring- at Heartland Havoc- against Sensational Sherri! No question, that match will be a spectacle to behold! Now, fans, let's head back to the ring for our Main Event! MAIN EVENT: OLD SCHOOL UNITED STATES TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONG (c) vs. LARRY & CURT HENNIGThe long-awaited title match between two of wrestling's finest families was dampened from the onset, as Larry Hennig came to the ring with his head bandaged, courtesy of an attack by the VACHON BROTHERS. Curt started the match, going back and forth with Brad Armstrong in a technical wrestling clinic! But before the wrestlers even broke a sweat, the Vachon Brothers turned up at ringside! Larry Hennig went berserk, and left the ring apron and commenced a brawl against the Vachons! But the numbers game quickly caught up with Larry, and the Vachons broke him down. Curt Hennig left the ring to defend his father, and a fierce four-way brawl broke out! The Hennigs pounded away at the Vachons, until NIKITA BREZNIKOV appeared and smacked Curt from behind. Curt went down, and Nikita stomped on him while the Vachon Brothers double-teamed Larry. Charles Robinson initiated a ten-count, and the Hennigs were counted out of the match. WINNERS: BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONG(Larry Hennig counted out)BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONG RETAIN THE UNITED STATES TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPThe brawl between the Vachons and the Hennigs escalated when THE IRON SHEIK entered the fray! This brought the Armstrongs up the aisle to battle Sheik and Breznikov. But Larry was badly injured, his head wound reopened and bleeding profusely. Before Curt could make it to the rescue, Mad Dog grabbed the steel ring steps and pounded them into the wounded head of Larry! A resounding THUD echoed through the Athletics Center and the crowd fell silent. Larry went down in a heap. Curt ran to his father's side as the Vachons celebrated and laughed their way out of the arena.JR: What a shocking turn of events. Ladies and gentlemen, I am appalled by what has taken place here this evening. Larry Hennig is in rough shape, fans, and son Curt is one angry man. No question, Curt Hennig will do everything in his power to avenge this vicious attack on his father. The Vachon Brothers, and the entire Foreign Legion, for that matter, had better have eyes in the back of their heads. We'll bring you an update on the condition of Larry Hennig as soon as we have the opportunity. But fans, the big picture is that we are now just one week away from Heartland Havoc! Stay tuned for the announcement of the complete card and the video preview coming this week. And batten down the hatches, ladies and genltmen, and get ready for Havoc XXIV! Until then, fans, so long from the Hoosier State! Heartland Championship Wrestling Heartland Havoc XXIV: Takin' Care of Business Conseco Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, Indiana February 28, 2009 The show opens with COUSIN LUKE, JR JAMES, and DAYTONDAVE together in the center of the ring. Daytondave: Hey, fans, good evening and welcome to Heartland Havoc XXIV! Heartland Championship Wrestling is proud to bring you a great night of action! Luke: That's right, Daytondave! We got the Heartland Heavyweight Championship match tonight! BRUISER BRODY and TACKY MORE SHEEP MAN are gonna rassle! JR: I believe, sir, you are referring to the Heartland Heavyweight Champion, TAKESHI MORISHIMA!Luke: Yeah, Jimmy, that feller. JR: That feller, Takeshi Morishima, will be defending his title in this evenings much-awaited Main Event! Brody-Morishima III will be a battle for the ages, no question. But first, we'll head to tonight's opening contest, brought to you by Old School Saturday Night, as Old School manager JIM CORNETTE has been forced to step into the ring to face SENSATIONAL SHERRI MARTEL!SPECIAL CHALLENGE MATCHJIM CORNETTE (w/ KING KONG BUNDY) vs. 'SENSATIONAL' SHERRI MARTEL (w/ HARLEY RACE)(Referee: Charles Robinson)Disaster for Jim Cornette! Cornette was in trouble from the opening bell, when he went for a body slam on Sherri but was unable to lift her. Sherri responded with a vicious rake of the eyes, then clotheslined Cornette and nearly turned him upside down! Sherri went for the small package, but Bundy pulled her leg and interrupted the count. Sherri turned and spat at Bundy, and he rushed into the ring to attack her! Bundy charged with a massive clothesline, but Sherri ducked away and Bundy clobbered Cornette! Harley Race entered the ring and brawled with Bundy, allowing Sherri to climb to the top turnbuckle and execute a flying splash on Cornette to earn the pinfall! WINNER: 'SENSATIONAL' SHERRI MARTEL(Sherri pinned Cornette with a Top Rope Splash)After the decision, Cornette rolled out of the ring and fled up the aisle. Bundy and Race continued to brawl as Sherri screamed her approval! It took several minutes to separate the fracas, until finally Bundy grabbed the microphone.Bundy: Race! You bastard! I'm tired of being humiliated by you! I want you in the ring- any match you want! Name it! Race strode to the announcers' table and took Bundy's microphone.Race: You ain't gotta ask me twice, Bundy. I made you lose. I made your boys lose. I embarassed your manager in front of the whole city of Indianapolis! And now, Bundy, I am going to make you BLEED. Commissioner- book it. I want Bundy in a First Blood Taped Fist match!JR: Oh, my goodness! The match has been made! Race and Bundy are going to tape their fists and duke it out- until somebody bleeds! We'll book that match for the month of March as a main event on Old School! Now, fans, let's turn the proceedings over to Daytondave for our first Warfare match of the evening. Daytondave: Thanks, JR. And by the way, did I ever wish you a Happy Valentine's Day? Hope you enjoyed your gift, my man! JR blushes.Daytondave: Now, fans, as you know, the trash from Tradition has been stirring up trouble over on Warfare. So, my man LARRY SWEENEY laid out a challenge to that sleazy SO CAL VAL for a tag team match! Let's do this! SPECIAL CHALLENGE MATCH: NO DISQUALIFICATION BUFF BAGWELL & COWBOY BOB ORTON (w/ LARRY SWEENEY) vs. 'RAVISHING' RICK RUDE & ADAM PEARCE (w/ SO CAL VAL)(Referee: Joe Kopasz)This match was highly competitive, and nearly as chaotic, with both teams double-teaming frequently and both managers involved throughout. Rick Rude was the dominant force in the match, wearing out Bob Orton and rescuing Pearce from several predicaments. Rude himself was almost pinned when Val accidentally grabbed his ankle, but the Ravishing One managed to kick out. The finish came when Rude slammed Bagwell's head into the steel security railing, leaving him dazed. Rude threw him back into the ring and clobbered him with a flying cross-body block for the pin! WINNERS: RICK RUDE & ADAM PEARCE(Rude pinned Bagwell after a Top Rope Cross-Body Block)While Rude and Pearce celebrated, Bagwell and Orton pointed and shouted at them. A shoving match erupted in the ring as all four men pushed and glared. Without warning, RANDY ORTON appeared at ringside and jumped Larry Sweeney from behind! Val shrieked with delight when Orton knocked Sweeney to the floor and lined him up for a kick to the head. Suddenly, CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI dashed in and shoved Orton away! Randy was enraged, but saw that the odds were not in his favor, and quickly backed his way up the ring ramp. When Claudio cast his eyes on So Cal Val, he moved behind Rude. Claudio turned his attention to his fallen manager, helping Sweeney to his feet as Val led Rude and Pearce away from ringside.Daytondave: Whoa! When you consider the hatred between Sweeney and Val, that was actually a decent match. But JR, I don't know WHAT Randy Orton is up to. He obviously doesn't care for Rick Rude- but tonight his target was Larry Sweeney. And tomorrow- who knows? Even his own father doesn't seem to know what Randy is thinking. JR- you better watch your back. Next thing you know, he'll be knocking on YOUR door. JR: I wouldn't be so sure about that, Daytondave. In any event, I think it is time for a return to normalcy here on Havoc. JIMMY SNUKA is prepared to defend his Great Lakes Heavyweight Championship against NICK BOCKWINKEL. Let's head back to the ring for that all-important Old School match-up. GREAT LAKES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP JIMMY 'SUPERFLY' SNUKA (c) vs. NICK BOCKWINKEL(Referee: Nick Patrick)The championship match was hard-hitting and intense! Snuka controlled the early moments of the match, reversing an armbar from Bockwinkel and punishing him with vicious chops. Snuka nailed Bockwinkel with a piledriver and gained a near fall, but Bockwinkel kicked out and escaped to the arnea floor. Snuka grew impatient and pursued him, but Bockwinkel was ready for him and a pier-six brawl erupted outside the ring. Bockwinkel backdropped Snuka, who crashed hard onto the concrete! Nick Patrick allowed the action to continue, and Bockwinkel took control. Nick hurled Superfly back into the ring and locked him into a tortuous Figure-4 Leglock! Snuka fought through the pain, and in several moments, managed to reach the bottom rope and force Patrick to break the hold. But the damage was done, and Bockwinkel smartly locked on the Sleeper hold! Snuka was too weakened to work his way free from the devastating manuver, and in short order Nick Patrick called for the submission and the match was over! WINNER: NICK BOCKWINKEL(Bockwinkel knocked out Snuka with the Sleeper Hold)NICK BOCKWINKEL REGAINS THE GREAT LAKES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPJR: What a terrific performance! Ladies and gentlemen, you have just witnessed Old School wrestling at its finest. Indeed, congratulations are in order to Nick Bockwinkel for regaining the Great Lakes Heavyweight Championship! No question that once they wake up Jimmy Snuka, he'll be back on the warpath for another run at Bockwinkel. But on this occasion, Bockwinkel has proven himself to be the better man. Now, ladies and gentlemen, we have a most unfortunate match between HILLBILLY JIM and his own uncle, now known as BIG DADDY ELMER. These two men have agreed to settle their differences in a Loser Leaves Town showdown! BOBBY HEENAN rushes to ringside in a panic.Heenan: Mr. Commissioner! Mr. Commissioner! Please! You can't let this happen. You can't let my Elmer put his career and his livelihood in jeopardy like this! Luke: Now, Bobby- the deal is done. It ain't up to me to decide no more. Heenan: But Mr. Luke- you are the Commissioner! You have the power to cancel this match. I'm beggin' ya! Elmer wasn't thinking right! He was running a fever! Maybe he had too much Mississippi Moonshine! Don't let these two destroy each other. They're your family, for goodness' sake! Luke: I'm sorry, Mr. Heenan. You seen it, jus' like me. Didn't you watch Elmer spit on his hands and give a handshake? Heenan: So? That just means he needed to clean up. Elmer has always been very concerned about his hygeine, you know. He picks his toenails before every meal! Luke: That ain't right, Mr. Bobby. When a feller spits on his hands, his word is given and that's that. Ain't no family, ain't no Commissioner can say different. So Bobby, I'm afraid this scuffle is gonna have to go on. Oh- one other thing, Bobby. You and yore pals have got to stay out of it. I'm declarin' right here that anyone what interferes in this match is gonna be fired, jus' like the loser. No let's git to scufflin'! GRUDGE MATCH: LOSER LEAVES TOWN HILLBILLY JIM vs. 'BIG DADDY' ELMER(Referee: Charles Robinson)It wasn't pretty, but Jim and Elmer wailed away at each other in a brutal slugfest. The brawl went outside of the ring and back in repeatedly and punches and kicks filled the fieldhouse. Elmer nearly pinned Jim after throwing him off the top rope, but Jim escaped at the last moment. When Jim caught Elmer in the Bear Hug, a hush fell over the crowd, but Elmer fought through the hold and finally freed himself with a double clap to the head. Still dazed, Elmer went for a shoulder block, but ran right into the big boot of his nephew and it was lights out for the three count. WINNER: HILLBILLY JIM(Jim pinned Elmer after a Big Boot)Bobby Heenan was beside himself after the match. He grabbed Elmer's chain and rushed into the ring, handing Elmer the weapon and screaming for him to attack Jim. But Elmer shook his head, took the chain, and handed it to Jim. Elmer left the ring, his head hung low as he padded up the ramp toward the exit. Jim took the chain and wrapped it around his fist, drawing back to slug Heenan, who dropped to his knees in terror! But Jim looked back at his uncle, then handed the chain back to Heenan, turned and left the ring. Jim caught up to Elmer on the entry way, put his arm around his uncle, and the two hillbillies left the arena together.Luke: I don't reckon neither of them'll be comin' back, Jimmy. JR: What a sad ending to a sad situation. Luke: Naw, Jimmy, hain't nuttin' to be sad fer. What's important is family. So I reckon Jim 'n Elmer'll head down to the fishin' hole fer a spell n' it'll be all right. Daytondave: Well ain't that sweet? Enough of the blubberin', boys. We have more wrestling action to come. As you can see, the lumberjacks are filling the ringside area. It's time for CHRIS JERICHO and JUSHIN LIGER to lock horns again! LUMBERJACK MATCH JUSHIN 'THUNDER' LIGER vs. CHRIS JERICHO(Referee: Heather Owens)Chaos reigned supreme in the Lumberjack match, to the surprise of no one. Jericho orchestrated the ring beautifully, relying on his allies LANCE STORM, RICK RUDE, & ADAM PEARCE to do his dirty work, and getting some additional assistance from a surprise ally from Old School, THE MOUNTIE. Liger fought his best, surviving not only the Lion Tamer, but a chair shot from Rude and a blast from the Mountie's Shock Stick. When Liger sought to recover alongside GIANT BABA, ANTONIO INOKI, and MASAHIRO CHONO, the Japanese allies were attacked repeatedly by Storm, Pearce and Rude. Jericho did tangle on several occasions with MIKE QUACKENBUSH- once when Quack interrupted a pin attempt, and on a second occasion when Quack drilled Jericho with a Quackendriver on the arena floor! But Jericho's pals quickly rescued him and helped him regain his strength. Liger was once again tossed to the wolves, and after eating a superkick from Storm, he was nearly out on his feet. The Tradition crew rolled him back into the ring, where Jericho applied the Lion Tamer a second time and Liger was unable to escape. WINNER: CHRIS JERICHO(Jericho forced Liger to submit to the Lion Tamer)To no one's surprise, the chaos continued after the match. The Tradition crew continued taunting the allies of Liger, leading to RICK RUDE spitting in the face of ANTONIO INOKI! Inoki was furious, and launched himself at Rude with a fury! Officials from Heartland and wrestlers from all around the ring attempted to get between the brawlers. Rude broke free momentarily, and grabbed a steel chair! Rude waded back into the fracas with the chair, but several wrestlers intervened to prevent another attack. BIG JIM THE ENFORCER hit the scene, and disarmed Rude. Finally, cooler heads prevailed, and all factions were gradually herded back to the locker room without further incident.Daytondave: Blast it! Those suckers from up north have gotten the best of us TWICE tonight! JR: It's your own stupid fault, Daytondave. You lie down with dogs, and you wake up with fleas, eh? Daytondave glares at JR, then throws his headset onto the table in disgust and storms out of the ring area.JR: Well, Luke, I guess it's just you and me now. And even better, we are ready for the Main Event! Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come for Brody-Morishima III ! The top prize in the Heartland is at stake. The buildup is over. The undercard is complete. Heartland Senior Official JOE KOPASZ is at the ready. Both competitors are in the ring and ready for action! MAIN EVENT: HEARTLAND HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TAKESHI MORISHIMA (c) vs. BRUISER BRODY(Referee: Joe Kopasz)The confrontation between the beasts proved to be the most intense and thrilling of the evening! Brody began the match with an incredible onslaught, and it appeared that the match might be over in the opening moments! But Morishima absorbed a pair of Jumping Knee Drops from Brody, and eventually managed to fight his way back into the match! Morishima capitalized on Brody's aggressiveness, reversing an Irish Whip on the ring floor to send Brody careening against the steel ring post! Morishima immediately went to work, executing two powerful Saito Suplexes, which weakened Brody but were not enough to put him down. The action spilled back to the floor, where a prolonged battle followed. Both men laid on some heavy lumber, but it was a big boot to the face by Brody that turned the tide. Morishima went down hard, and Brody immediately hurled him back into the ring and dropped him with a piledriver for the three-count! WINNER: BRUISER BRODY(Brody pinned Morishima with a piledriver)BRUISER BRODY REGAINS THE HEARTLAND HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPJR: How about that, fans?!? History has been made in Indianapolis! Bruiser Brody has regained the Heartland Heavyweight Championship! That match was everything that the hype had suggested it would be indeed. What a tremendous way to cap off a tremendous night of action here at the Conseco Fieldhouse! Two titles have changed hands, and some major hostilities have been expressed. No question, many unresolved issues remain in the wake of tonight's events. It was a particularly rough night for my broadcast colleague Daytondave, but you can rest assured that he and the boys from Warfare will collect themselves and move ahead. Ladies and gentlemen, we do thank you for joining us here this evening! Heartland Championship Wrestling will be back with another episode of Wednesday Night Warfare this week. Until then, fans, so long from the Hoosier State!

Daytondave here, and the HCW crew is back with another awesome show for your viewing pleasure. We're on the heels of Heartland Havoc XXIV, and to be honest, things for the Warfare crew didn't go so well. But rest assured, fans, the boys are back in town and ready to rumble! You will NOT believe the match we have signed for tonight's main event! It's no holds barred, with the Warfare Combat Championship up for grabs as the champ, THE MISSING LINK, defends the belt against none other than the homicidal, suicidal, genocidal maniac himself, SABU! Can the sleepy little town of Tiffin handle action this hot? We'll find out soon enough. So grab yourself a cold one, relax, and enjoy the show! (Tonight's referee: Joe Kopasz)IVAN KOLOFF vs. TOM PRICHARDThe Russian Bear was impressive in his debut match, dominating Prichard and tossing him around the ring with contempt. But Prichard proved himself no easy foe, surviving an agonizing backbreaker and drawing the ire of Koloff with his resilience. The frustration mounted for Koloff, who took after Prichard with his steel chain and got himself disqualified. WINNER: TOM PRICHARD(Koloff disqualified for use of the steel chain)After the match, Koloff continued to take after Prichard with the chain, but Prichard grabbed a steel chair from ringside and fended off the assault. When Prichard tried to fire back, Koloff quickly backpedalled and scurried away from the ring.Daytondave: Now that's what I call fighting fire with fire, fans! Signing Ivan Koloff was a major accomplishment for Wednesday Night Warfare, but even the least touted guy on the Warfare roster just proved that there are no easy victories to be had here! DAN 'THE BEAST' SEVERN vs. DANNY DORINGDoring put up a respectable showing for his first match, but was overpowered and stretched by Severn en route to a convincing victory. WINNER: DAN 'THE BEAST' SEVERN(Severn pinned Doring with a Choke Sleeper)Daytondave: Size, strength, and technique- Severn has the complete package. Doring didn't do badly, but he'll have to come stronger than that to be successful here at Warfare. It's a Man's Game! All right, fans, before our next match, we have a special announcement from the HCW Commissioner himself, COUSIN LUKE!The TiffinTron lights up, and COUSIN LUKE appears in his office. The United States Tag Team Champions, THE ARMSTRONGS, will be a-visitin' Warfare to take on THE BACKSEAT BOYZ! N' over on Old School, yore champions, THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS, will go and take on THE MOUNTIE & ANGELO MOSCA. The winners of them two matches will rassle each other to become number one contender! The arena applauds as Luke fades from the screen.Daytondave: How about THAT, Heartland fans? Once again, the Commissioner comes through with an idea that will excite the fans. Ol' Luke is a simple fellow, but he knows what the people like. Now, let's get to our next match! THE BACKSEAT BOYZ (TRENT ACID & JOHNNY KASHMERE) vs. THE HEADSHRINKERS (SAMU & ALOFA)The fame and glory of the Backseat Boyz was short-lived at best. Alofa got the jump on Trent Acid at the opening ball and planted him with a crushing Samoan Drop for a quick victory! WINNERS: THE HEADSHRINKERS(Alofa pinned Acid with a Samoan Drop)Daytondave: What the- ?!?!? Looks like the Backseat Boyz got a little overconfident after tonight's announcement. Nothing like an upset loss to bring everything back into perspective. Fans, this next match has the potential to be something special, so check this out! MIKE QUACKENBUSH vs. MIL MASCARASIn a stunning turn of events, Quackenbush outfoxed Mascaras for the victory! Mascaras controlled much of the early action with his ground attacks, softening up Quack with an Octopus Hold and a Bow and Arrow. Quackenbush fought his way to the bottom rope to force the break, then pitched Mascaras to the floor and blasted him with a Slingshot Plancha! Before Mascaras could recover, Quack flattened him with a Quackendriver II and scored a clean pinfall! WINNER: MIKE QUACKENBUSH(Quackenbush pinned Mascaras after a Quackendriver II)After the match, Quackenbush headed to the announcers' table. Daytondave handed him the microphone to address the crowd.Quackenbush: Thank you, Daytondave. First off, I would like to congratulate Mil Mascaras for a great match. This is exactly the kind of action that makes the Heartland the top federation in the Midwest. You'll never see that quality of competition from those bozos in Tradition. Adam Pearce? Chris Hero? What the hell were you guys thinking? But Daytondave, I am here tonight for one reason. I was called out by Chris Jericho. Dude, all I have to say to you is, BRING IT ON!!! Quackenbush hands the microphone back to Daytondave as the crowd cheers. Daytondave: Now THAT was impressive! Quackenbush has had his hands full recently, losing his Candy Cup to JUSHIN LIGER and getting into it with JERICHO at Havoc this past weekend. But tonight he kept his focus and took advantage of an opportunity to pull off a major victory! That is really a feather in his cap, fans. And now, Quackenbush has responded to Jericho and accepted the challenge. You better believe it, I will be on the phone with Rob Bennett the instant we get off the air. If Jericho has the guts, he can show up one week from tonight and get into the ring with Quackenbush! All right, fans, let's take a look at THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS. Kip and BG had a rough time last month, losing their shot at the Heartland Tag Team Championship in chaotic fashion. Can SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK bring these guys back to form? THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS (KIP & BG JAMES w/ SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK) vs. BLOODLUST (JUSTIN CREDIBLE & DRAKE YOUNGER w/ JONNY FAIRPLAY)The match started somewhat rocky for the Outlaws. BG was trapped in the ring, and pummeled by both members of Bloodlust. At one point, he broke free, but did not tag in to Kip. Instead, he battled back against Younger and finally got the advantage before tagging out. Kip was dominant, drilling Younger with a powerful clothesline and beating down Credible! Kip threw in a haymaker on Jonny Fairplay for good measure. Then the Outlaws executed a double-team Spike Piledriver on Credible, then Kip finished him off for a convincing win. WINNERS: THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS(Kip pinned Credible after a Power Slam)Daytondave: It looked a little dicey there for a few moments, but the Outlaws pulled it together and came out victorious in the end. Looks like SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK is on his way over for a conversation. Humperdink: No doubt about it, Daytondave. The Outlaws are together to stay. You think one loss is gonna stop BG and Kip? Naw, baby, naw! Bobby Heenan, tell your boys to keep them belts nice and shiny clean, 'cuz we're comin' for ya! Bring it in, boys! Kip and BG join hands with Humperdink for a group knuckle-knock, and the trio leaves the ring area together. Daytondave: Interesting show of unity there for the New Age Outlaws. But Humperdink neglected to mention, his team isn't even in the HCW Top 5 for the first time since they hit the scene. Back to the drawing board, boys! Now fans, you know that Daytondave has never been one to be outdone. I've got my own little contenders' tournament planned, with a title shot against American Heavyweight Champion DANNY HODGE up for grabs! AMERICAN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: QUALIFYING MATCH BUFF BAGWELL (w/ LARRY SWEENEY) vs. THE SANDMAN (w/ JONNY FAIRPLAY)The first qualifying match quickly turned chaotic! Sandman kicked Bagwell's butt around the ring for several minutes before Bagwell took a powder and headed to the arena floor. Sandman followed, and whacked Bagwell with the Singapore Cane! Only the timely interference from Jonny Fairplay prevented Sandman from being disqualified. Larry Sweeney tried to interject himself, but Fairplay sucker-punched him and the two managers erupted into a brawl at ringside! Sandman tried to take advantage of the distraction, and whipped Bagwell viciously into the steel security railing. But Joe Kopasz caught the infraction this time, and called for the disqualification. WINNER: BUFF BAGWELL(Sandman disqualified for brawling outside the ring)After the match, Sandman continued the attack on Bagwell, but COWBOY BOB ORTON rushed to the scene and threw Sandman to the floor! Orton tossed Sandman into the ring, preparing to exact his revenge, but Sandman slipped away and escaped unharmed.Daytondave: Sorry, Sandman and Jonny Fairplay. Sweeney and his men had a rough night at Havoc, but it sure doesn't look like they're gonna roll over for the likes of YOU. Sandman is a tough SOB, but he's been hit on the head a few too many times to be championship material. Next week, it will be CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI squaring off against KONNAN for the other spot in the number one contenders' match. Will Sweet & Sour, Inc. capture both spots in that bout? Check us out next week to learn the answer to that question. Now, fans, batten down the hatches- it's time to rumble! MAIN EVENT: WARFARE COMBAT CHAMPIONSHIP MISSING LINK (c) vs. SABUIn one of the most brutal matches Warfare has ever witnessed, the two maniacs nealr tore apart the quiet town of Tiffin! Sabu opened with a flurry, crushing Link with a Slingshot Legdrop! Link went down, and Sabu immediately fetched a steel chair and smacked him with an Arabian Facebuster. But Link powered out of the move, and seemed to be more inspired than injured! The champions roared back, snatching the chair from Sabu and delivering three wild shots to Sabu's head! Sabu fell to the canvas, busted open, and Link finished him with a Back Flying Head Butt. WINNER: MISSING LINK(Link pinned Sabu after a Back Flying Head Butt)MISSING LINK RETAINS THE WARFARE COMBAT CHAMPIONSHIPDaytondave: Was that insane or what? Sabu is one of the baddest men on the planet- and Missing Link just about tore his head off! Can anybody withstand the fury of this Link character? My feeling is, his title reign is going to be a long and bloody one. Okay, fans, we're done here. What a night! Make sure to come back on Saturday night for Old School. My man JR JAMES is planning a very special show to celebrate the 200th episode of Heartland Television! Look for plenty of VIP's to be on hand, and be ready for some top quality wrestling like only HCW can put out. Sources tell me that JR has a huge Main Event in store- it's gonna be a Taped Fist First Blood match between HARLEY RACE and KING KONG BUNDY! You will definitely want to be on hand for that confrontation. All right, fans, good night from the bustling metropolis of Tiffin. That's our show, and I AM OUTTA HERE! Heartland Championship Wrestling Old School Saturday Night March 7, 2009 (Card #200) Millett Hall, Oxford, Ohio The show opens with a group of Heartland dignitaries in the ring, including HCW Owner TED DIBIASE, COMMISSIONER LUKE, JR JAMES, and DAYTONDAVE. The atmosphere is festive, and the champagne is flowing. MISS BERTHA parades around the ring, pouring champagne for the assembled entourage.DiBiase: Gentlemen! A toast! I am so proud of the HCW Leadership Team for 200 episodes of first-rate televised wrestling! Luke, partner, I have to hand it to you. Your commitment to the enjoyment of the Heartland fan base has made this territory what it is today! The dignitaries raise their glasses in honor of the Commissioner.Luke: Thank ya, Mr. DiBiase! We shore do love our fans here! You done brung this territory back from pert near ruination, sir! DiBiase: Luke, we would never let the Heartland legacy die. Daytondave, you've been around here as long as anybody. Give us your thoughts! Daytondave: That's right, boss! The legacy of the Heartland is second to none. The very first Heartland telecast took place right here in Oxford, way back in October of 2006. We've hosted 200 television shows, and 24 pay-per-views, since we opened the doors. And I am pleased to announce, some very special people are in attendance here this evening! We'll be highlighting those individuals throughout the evening as the show progresses. Now, over to my broadcast colleague, JR JAMES, to introduce tonight's exciting show. JR: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to tonight's special episode of Old School Saturday Night! Tonight's telecast will feature a grudge match of epic proportions as HARLEY RACE squares off against KING KONG BUNDY in the Heartland's first-ever FIRST BLOOD TAPED FIST match! We'll also see two matches with important championship implications, along with a very special surprise for the loyal fans of this great territory. Now, let's head to the ring for tonight's opening contest! (Tonight's referee: Nick Patrick)CURT HENNIG vs. 'SWEET' STAN LANE (w/ JIM CORNETTE)The opening bout was entertaining and competitive. Lane started strong, blasting Hennig with a series of Superkicks, and holding his own in a couple of forays outside the ring. But Hennig fought his way back, overpowering Lane and coming back to pick up a hard-fought victory. WINNER: CURT HENNIG(Hennig pinned Lane after a Hennig Plex)JR: A fine performance indeed for Curt Hennig. With his father on the shelf, Curt has decided to try his hand in singles competition where historically he has met with considerable success. But you had better believe that Curt has not forgotten about NIKITA BREZNIKOV and the FOREIGN LEGION. Vengeance will be high on Curt's agenda in the near future. Before our next match, ladies and gentlemen, Allow me to recognize some of the many contributors to the success of Heartland Wrestling. With us here tongiht, we have the broadcast crew from the very first Heartland telecast! JR: Let's have a round of applause for Ring Announcer LILLIAN GARCIA, Broadcasters MARK MADDEN and LANCE RUSSELL, and former Heartland Commissioner ALEXANDRA YORK! Now, ladies and gentlemen, the Old School will take you back to some of the classic superstars of wrestling's golden age. MASKED SUPERSTAR (w/ SLICK) vs. DON MURACOIn a grueling match, Superstar wore down Muraco and finally put him away. WINNER: MASKED SUPERSTAR(Superstar pinned Muraco after a Head Butt)JR: Once again, the stars of the Old School deliver an excellent bout! Muraco survived the dreaded Cobra Hold, not once, but TWICE! But Superstar kept after him and it is the masked man who catches the duke. Now, fans, in honor of the 200th show of Heartland Wrestling, we are excited to bring you the debut of our latest acquisition! The Heartlandtron lights up as the tune "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath fills the air. THE ROAD WARRIORS, HAWK AND ANIMAL storm the ring and mount the turnbuckles, gesturing to the ecstatic fans throughout the arena.THE ROAD WARRIORS vs. THE VALIANT BROTHERSThe atmosphere in Millett Hall was electric for the debut of Hawk and Animal! But the Valiant Brothers would not be intimidated, keeping the pace of the match slow and tagging frequently to prevent the Warriors from gaining significant momentum. Despite their savvy ring presence, the Valiants could do no damage to the Roadies. After a protracted struggle, the end came quickly as Hawk exploded on Johnny, planting him with a running clothesline and surprising him with a leap from the top rope to gain the pinfall! WINNERS: THE ROAD WARRIORS(Hawk pinned Johnny after a Flying Cross-Body Block)JR: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Road Warriors! Hawk and Animal have wanted to enter the Heartland in the worst way, and now the two baddest men in wrestling are here at Old School! The Valiants put up a great struggle, but no team in the history of the sport is as explosive and deadly as Animal and Hawk. The Heartland has been put on notice- whether it is the United States Tag Champions THE ARMSTRONGS, or even the Heartland Tag Team Champions OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO, no tag team titles anywhere are safe from the grasp of the Road Warriors! And now, fans, as we honor the heritage of Heartland wrestling, let us recognize the participants in the very first televised match in Heartland History! Please give a warm welcome to CHRISTOPHER DANIELS, who to this day remains the winningest wrestler in HCW history! On that occasion, Daniels was accompanied by his former manager, WOMAN, who joins him in attendance here this eveining. In that match, Daniels faced off against current Heartland superstar DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE, seconded by his wife KIMBERLY. DDP is still recuperating from an injury, but he has been gracious enough to join us here at Old School this evening, accompanied by the lovely Kimberly herself. JR: All right, ladies and gentlemen, let's return to the ring from another classic, Old-school-style battle of superstars! BOBO BRAZIL (w/ SLICK) vs. JIMMY 'SUPERFLY' SNUKASnuka and Bobo tore the house down with a classic back-and-forth encounter. Brazil overpowered Superfly in the early stages, trying to wear him down with bearhugs and body slams. But Snuka fought back, tossing Brazil out of the ring and nailing him with a slingshot Plancha! Both men went down, but it was Superfly who recovered first. Jimmy went to the top rope, but missed the Superfly Leap! Bobo went back to the Bear Hug, as much to rest as to punish Snuka. But Jimmy powered his way out, and floored Brazil with a massive chop! Snuka went back to the air and connected solidly with a flying headbutt to put Bobo down for the three-count. WINNER: JIMMY 'SUPERFLY' SNUKA(Snuka pinned Brazil after a Flying Head Butt)JR: How about that? Superfly plastered Bobo with that flying headbutt and there we nothing that he, nor Slick, could do about it. No question, that is an impressive victory for the Superfly. Ladies and gentlemen, we have one more group of VIP's to introduce this evening. We are honored to be joined by the first-ever Heartland champions! Please give a warm welcome to the inaugural Heartland Heavyweight Champion, SCOTTY STEINER! Also, ladies and gentlemen, the first-ever Heartland Tag Team Champions, TOMMY 'WILDFIRE' RICH and BRIAN PILLMAN are on hand! And last, but not least, the first man ever to capture the Midwest Heavyweight Championship is here- so give a round of applause to BRADSHAW! As the Millett Hall crowd applauds the champions, BOBBY HEENAN makes his way to ringside, accompanied by Heartland Tag Team Champions OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO, and United States Heavyweight Champion RAY 'CRIPPLER' STEVENS. Heenan casts a glance at the champions, then leads his men to the announcers' table. Heenan: Wow, JR. I am impressed! The quality of Heartland Champions has really improved since the old days. What a collection of chumps! Scotty Steiner? How scrawny is he? I don't think any amount of time in the gym will help that little pipsqueak. Maybe he should give A-Rod's cousin a call and see about some supplements. And Steiner- while you're at it- get a haircut! And those tag team champs- they look more like chumps to me. They look like Laurel and Hardy on peroxide! And Bradshaw- I guess he's all right. You work for ROB BENNETT now, don't you, Bradshaw? Yet another smart business move. Ya gotta love Republicans! JR: Enough already, Bobby! What are you doing here? Heenan: Me? I'm scouting. We've got two important matches coming up. I wanna see what these challengers have to offer. When you're the 'Manager of Champions' like me, you gotta watch everybody. Now let's see some wrestling! JR: I must admit it, ladies and gentleman, the man makes a good point indeed. About the matches, I mean. His comments about the former champions were completely out of line. But no question, you can't argue about the success the Bobby Heenan and his troops have enjoyed in the Heartland since he got started here. So, let's take a look at the challengers! HEARTLAND TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: QUALIFYING MATCH THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS (DUSTIN LEE & SCOTTY VORTEKZ) vs. TEAM CANADA (THE MOUNTIE & ANGELO MOSCA)In a surprisingly one-sided contest, the Canadian team dominated the Dragons. The Naptown Boys could never get anything started offensively, and Mountie used his Shock Stick with brutal effectiveness to wear down Dustin Lee and score the victory. WINNERS: TEAM CANADA(Mountie pinned Lee after using the Shock Stick)Heenan: Not much there, JR. Just remind me to take the batteries out of that cattle prod if we face those Canadian clowns for the title. What else ya got? JR: Team Canada has taken down some very capable opponents, Mr. Heenan. Don't underestimate them. Now, we'll look at the number one contenders for Ray Stevens' US Title! UNITED STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: #1 CONTENDERS' MATCH GIANT BABA vs. DICK HUTTONThe contenders' match was a monumental struggle, with momentum shifting on multiple occasions. Hutton absorbed an incredible amount of punishment, but Baba was unable to put him away in the early stages of the match. Hutton battled back, dropping Baba with a Side Salto for a near fall, then torturing him with an Abdominal Stretch. But the Giant worked his way to the ropes, forcing Nick Patrick to break the hold. The battle continued, and Baba gradually gained control. A massive boot to the face stunned Hutton, and finally a weary Baba chopped him down to earn the victory. WINNER: GIANT BABA(Baba pinned Hutton after a Baba Chop)JR: Now that is an impressive competitor. Bobby, I think your US Champion is in for a tough battle indeed against a man like Giant Baba. Heenan: I'm not worried about that, JR. Hey Larry- why don't you see if that Canadian guy will let us borrow his electric cattle prod. That might come in handy against this Japanese giant. Come on, fellas, let's get out of here! Heenan leaves the announce table, followed closely by Baker, Zbyszko, and Stevens. As Heenan's crew departs, they pass by the row of previous champions. Words are exchanged between Zbyszko and Brian Pillman. Without warning, Pillman springs from his seat and pounces on Zbyszko! Ox Baker grabs at Pillman, but Tommy Rich shoves Baker away. Steiner takes a poke at Heenan, but Ray Stevens sucker-punches him! A six-way melee breaks out, and security forces rush to the scene. Bradshaw steps back, moving away from the fracas and grinning broadly as the brawl continues. Finally, BIG JIM THE ENFORCER and his band of security officers gain control of the situation and usher Heenan and his men back to the locker room. JR: What a bizarre turn of events! I guess I am not surprised- there are some volatile personalities on both sides of that situation. Leave it to Larry Zbyszko to stir things up- and wherever Brian Pillman shows up, chaos follows. Now that we have that situation under control- it's time for tonight's Main Event! MAIN EVENT: TAPED FIST FIRST BLOOD MATCH HARLEY RACE vs. KING KONG BUNDYThe feud between Race and Bundy has been long and brutal, and tonight's encounter was no different. Bundy came out with unbridled aggression against his rival, using his tape fists to pummel Race. Harley fought back, striking Bundy with head butts and knee smashes, but Bundy hurled him out of the ring and smashed his head onto the steel security railing! Race somehow escaped without a cut, but he was clearly dazed, and Bundy took advantage. Race rolled back into the ring, but Bundy caught him with another taped fist to the side of the head, then dropped a massive elbow onto Race and tore a gash over his right eye. As the blood trickled, Nick Patrick called for the bell and Bundy was victorious! WINNER: KING KONG BUNDY(Bundy gashed Race on the forehead with an elbow drop)After the bell, Bundy continued to put the boots to Race, pummeling him with kicks and punches and targeting the open wound. Jim Cornette drew the attention of Nick Patrick away from Race as Bundy sunk his teeth into the injured forehead. As the beating continued, THE CRUSHER emerged from the locker room to chase Bundy away from the scene and rescue his fallen ally.JR: Gruesome! I've never seen Harley Race get manhandled like that. His forehead is one ugly mess, and he has King Kong Bundy to thank for it. Only the intervention of The Crusher saved Harley from major injury. No question, we have not heard the last of that rivalry. Well, ladies and gentlemen, it has been a festive night here at Millett Hall- not without its hiccups, but indeed a fitting celebration of 200 successful broadcasts of Heartland Championship Wrestling! Be sure to stop by on Wednesday Night for the next episode of Warfare, as our own BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONG face off against THE BACKSEAT BOYZ in a Heartland Tag Team Championship Qualifying Match! And in Wednesday's main event, it has just been confirmed that indeed, CHRIS JERICHO will be in the building for a grudge match against MIKE QUACKENBUSH! You definitely won't want to miss the next chapter in the storied animosity between the Warfare Crew and those rascals from Tradition. Until then, fans, so long from the Buckeye State! Heartland Championship Wrestling Wednesday Night Warfare March 11, 2009 (Card #201) Erie County Community Center, Sandusky, Ohio The show opens with Warfare General Manager DAYTONDAVE in the ring.Daytondave: Hey, fans, welcome to Wednesday Night Warfare! Daytondave and the Warfare crew are proud to be here in the shadow of one of the world's greatest amusement parks to bring you an outstanding night of action! Tonight, the snot-nosed little punk CHRIS JERICHO is here, and he will have his hands full with MIKE QUACKENBUSH! We've also got a couple of contender's matches, and a couple of debut matches of newly acquired Warfare talent, so tonight is shaping up to be an exciting night. So grab yourself a cold one, relax, and enjoy the show! (Tonight's referee: Joe Kopasz)COWBOY BOB ORTON (w/ LARRY SWEENEY) vs. RICKY LANDELLLandell entered the ring cocky and bold, but Orton quickly cut him down to size. Orton pummeled Landell and beat him from pillar to post, but in a flash, Landell ducked out of a Death Valley Driver. Landell seized upon the opening, caught Orton coming in, and planted him with a Fisherman's Buster for a quick three-count! WINNER: RICKY LANDELL(Landell pinned Orton with a Fisherman's Buster)Daytondave: Wow! That's an impressive start for the young fella. Landell took a serious beating from a tough guy, but came off the mat and created an opportunity to win the match. We'll see how far up the totem pole this guy can climb in the weeks ahead. All right, fans- this next match will be something unique. After everything that went down a couple of weeks ago at Heartland Havoc, ANTONIO INOKI has come over from Old School to work with his Japanese pals and help watch their backs. Of course, Inoki himself got into some issues with RICK RUDE! But tonight, his challenge will be much different. He'll be teaming with his countryman TIGER MASK in tag team action against a most unusual new combination. ANTONIO INOKI & TIGER MASK vs. DELIRIOUS & NECRO BUTCHERIn a bizarre match, the Japanese duo went head to head with the unorthodox team of Necro and Delirious, and the action was slow-paced and deliberate for much of the early going. After several minutes of evenly matched action, Inoki took over on Delirious, and finally trapped him in an agonizing Octopus Hold. After a struggle, Delirious reached the ropes, but he was clearly spent. Inoki blasted him with an Enzuigiri, and only a last-minute pin save by Necro kept the match from ending. This brought Tiger Mask into the ring, and a four-way melee developed. Necro hammered Inoki, beating him through the ropes and sending him tumbling to the floor. Delirious launched himself onto Inoki with a suicide tope, leaving both men in a heap on the concrete. While Heather Owens put Tiger Mask out of the ring, Necro went to the floor and blasted Inoki with a powerbomb! Delirious barely beat the ten-count to return to the ring, but Inoki was unable to recovered and was counted out. WINNERS: DELIRIOUS & NECRO BUTCHER(Inoki counted out after a Power Bomb by Necro Butcher)Daytondave: Out of the frying pan and into the fryer, I suppose that's what they say. That's gotta hurt! As Delirious and Necro depart, Inoki comes to the announcers' table and takes the microphone. He is joined by Tiger Mask, and JUSHIN LIGER comes from the locker room to his side.Inoki: Ladies and gentlemen, it is my sad necessity to be here. This Warfare is not an honorable place, but my loyalty to Tiger and Thunder compels me. This man, this Necro Butcher, came on me like a man and tonight he was my better. But RICK RUDE, you and your Tradition friends are brutes without honor. I look to the day when our paths will cross and your fate will be written! Inoki politely hands the microphone back to Daytondave and takes a place at ringside to watch his compadre.JUSHIN 'THUNDER' LIGER vs. STEVE CORINOLiger electrified the Sandusky crowd with an aerial blitzkrieg, flooring Corino with an amazing springboard moonsault and finishing him with a glorious Liger Dive to take an impressive victory. WINNER: JUSHIN 'THUNDER' LIGER(Liger pinned Corino after a Liger Dive)Daytondave: Liger just continues to roll! He lost the lumberjack match, but he remains your Candy Cup holder and has put aside another challenger here tonight! THE HIGH ROLLERS (DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE & PLAYBOY BUDDY ROSE w/ TRINITY DENUCCI) vs. PELIGROSO (TITO SANTANA & PEPPER GOMEZ)In his return to the ring from injury, DDP looked sharp and the Rollers controlled much of the contest. Frequent tags and timely escapes by the Mexican team kept the match competitive until Page caught Tito with a swinging neckbreaker for a surprise pinfall! WINNERS: THE HIGH ROLLERS(Page pinned Santana with a Swinging Neckbreaker)Daytondave: Sure glad to see DDP back in action! Dude looked sharp tonight! Santana has been on a serious roll here lately, but Page put him down for the three-count. Now, fans, we have two key matches with belts at stake. First off, we'll check out two dudes hoping to qualify for the top belt on Warfare, the American Championship held by DANNY HODGE.WARFARE AMERICAN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: QUALIFYING MATCH CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI (w/ LARRY SWEENEY) vs. KONNAN (w/ SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK)The fireworks in this match began even before the opening bell, as Konnan viciously attacked Claudio! Konnan carried the momentum through the entire match, as Claudio never really got untracked. Castagnoli managed to hold his own for a while, but Konnan kept the pressure on and finished the match decisively. WINNER: KONNAN(Konnan pinned Claudio after a Flying Cross-body block)Daytondave: Gees oh man, Konnan took care of business tonight! But Sweeney remains confident- he now has BUFF BAGWELL in line to face Konnan for the title shot. But Konnan has already tried and failed to knock off Hodge once, and you better believe he wants another shot at the gold! Now, fans, let's see who will move one step closer to a shot at the Heartland Tag Team Championship! HEARTLAND TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: QUALIFYING MATCH BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONG vs. THE BACKSEAT BOYZ (TRENT ACID & JOHNNY KASHMERE)The Armstrongs looked to be prohibitive favorites in this match, but a mistake by Brad proved to be costly when Trent Acid caught him climbing the turnbuckle and hurled him to the mat. Trent was quick to capitalize, hitting the stunned Brad with an Acid Drop for a pinfall! WINNERS: THE BACKSEAT BOYZ(Trent pinned Brad after an Acid Drop)Daytondave: What an explosive victory! These Backseat Boyz are young. They are inconsistent. But when they are on their game, they can take out anybody! And now, they're in line for a shot at THE MOUNTIE & ANGELO MOSCA for an opportunity to become the top contenders to the Heartland Tag Team Titles! But now, fans, it's time for MIKE QUACKENBUSH to finally get his hands on CHRIS JERICHO! I hope that little punk gets what he has coming to him. He already lost the Midwest Championship, now let's see if Quack can take a little of his dignity to go with it! MAIN EVENT: NO DISQUALIFICATION GRUDGE MATCH MIKE QUACKENBUSH (w/ JUSHIN LIGER) vs. CHRIS JERICHO (w/ LANCE STORM)Quackenbush came out feisty, and took no lip from Jericho. Jericho fired off an impressive flurry in the early stages of the match, but Quack survived the onslaught and exploded off the ropes with a running palm strike to stun Jericho and turn the momentum of the match. Jericho tried to take the fight to the arena floor, but Quackenbush nailed him with a suicide tope which left both men laid out on the concrete. Quackenbush recovered first, and dumped Jericho back into the ring and finished him for a clean victory. WINNER: MIKE QUACKENBUSH(Quackenbush pinned Jericho after a Flying Spear)After the loss, Jericho went to the corner and slapped the turnbuckle in frustration. While Quackenbush and Liger celebrated, Jericho stalked out of the ring. Lance Storm came to the ring and tried to console him, but Jericho brushed past him and ran up the ring ramp and out of the arena.Daytondave: Awww... did little Chrissy get his feelings hurt? What a stinkin' shame. He lost his Midwest Championship and he got schooled by Quackenbush. Nice work, Quack! All right fans, we're done here! Thanks for joining us here at Warfare. It's been an exciting night! Congratulations to KONNAN and to THE BACKSEAT BOYZ for their big victories here this evening. Be sure to come back on Saturday for our next broadcast of Old School! The United States Tag Team Championship will be at stake when BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONG defend the belts against ANGELO MOSCA & THE MOUNTIE. That's our show, and I AM OUTTA HERE! Heartland Championship Wrestling Old School Saturday Night March 14, 2009 (Card #202) James A. Rhodes Arena, Akron, Ohio The show opens with JR JAMES in the ring, accompanied by Heartland Commissioner COUSIN LUKE. JR: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Old School Saturday Night! It's 6:05 and we are live with an exciting night of action! The United States Tag Team CHampionship is at stake in tonight's main event, as BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONG will defend the belts against ANGELO MOSCA & THE MOUNTIE! But first, our esteemed Commissioner is here tonight to bring us a special announcement. Luke: Thanks, Jimmy! It shore is good to be back at Old School! But believe it or not, Jimmy, we got a paper view in just three weeks! We'll be headed back to the headquarters of the Heartland, where it all started, for Heartland Havoc XXV: Silver Anniversary Slamfest on April 4! JR: Fantastic news, Commissioner! Have we decided on a main event? Luke: Yer darn tootin'! We're still negotiatin' some of the matches, but we do know that the main event will be the fourth, and final, showdown for the Heartland Heavyweight Championship! We're gonna have us a best two out of three falls, no disqualification match between BRUISER BRODY 'n TAKESHI MORISHIMA!The fans erupt in cheers and chants for the announcement.JR: How about that, ladies and gentlemen? Brody versus Morishima- for the FOURTH time! Those two are so competitive- they never fail to bring the house down! I am sure that the Ervin J. Nutter Center will be packed to the rafters for that exciting evening! No question, we'll hear more about Havoc XXV as the date approaches. But tonight, fans, we are proud to introduce a brand new acquisition to Old School. Let's give a warm welcome to one of the great cruiserweight competitors in the history of the sport, ANTONINO ROCCA! Now, let's head to the ring for tonight's opening contest! (Tonight's referee: Charles Robinson)ANTONINO ROCCA vs. THE IRON SHEIK (w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV)The shifty and elusive Rocca was no match for the brutality of the Iron Sheik. Sheik seemed to pleasure in torturing Rocca, holding him in a grinding Camel Clutch for several minutes, then dropping him repeatedly with the Sidewinder Suplex before finally pinning him. WINNER: THE IRON SHEIK(Sheik pinned Rocca after a Sidewinder Suplex)JR: Welcome to Old School, Mr. Rocca. No question, this Argentinian dervish will prove to be a formidable foe for the cruiserweights, but tonight he was in there with one of the big boys and Sheik took the measure of him. Now, ladies and gentlemen, we'll see a renewal of a great rivalry dating back to the days of the old Dayton Wrestling Association! JOHNNY VALENTINE vs. THE DESTROYERIn another classic matchup between respected rivals, Valentine and Destroyer went at it with tremendous intensity. Multiple reversals were beautifully executed by both men. Destroyer nearly had Valentine beaten with a Figure-4, but Johnny made it to the ropes and forced the break. Valentine finally turned the momentum in his favor, and went to work on Destroyer with his vaunted Atomic Skullcrusher. It took three tries, but Valentine finally put Destroyer down for the cover. ( Fatigue tokens: Valentine 4, Destroyer 7)WINNER: JOHNNY VALENTINE(Valentine pinned Destroyer after an Atomic Skullcrusher)JR: What a tremendous contest! True to the Old School fashion, both these men are masters of their craft indeed. Another master of his craft is HARLEY RACE, who remains a little banged up after his Taped Fist match against KING KONG BUNDY last week. The road doesn't get any easier for Harley tonight, as he moves out against a very formidable foe. HARLEY RACE (w/ SENSATIONAL SHERRI MARTEL) vs. DON LEO JONATHANRace was clearly weakened in this contest, but battled gamely against his powerful Mormon foe. Sherri did her best to help Race, distracting Charles Robinson to assist Race in escaping a Mormon Swing. But the power of Jonathan proved to be too much, and Race succumbed after a protracted struggle. WINNER: DON LEO JONATHAN(Jonathan pinned Race after a Giant Swing)JR: Who wouldn't love to see these two men battle at full strength? I am sure that Race would relish the opportunity, and indeed so would Jonathan. But on this night, Jonathan did what he needed to do and came away victorious. THE VACHON BROTHERS (BUTCHER & MAD DOG w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV) vs. THE FLYING REDHEADS (RED BASTIEN & BILLY RED LYONS)The Vachons simply brutalized the Redheads, focusing their aggressions on Lyons and destroying him with barely a sweat. WINNERS: THE VACHON BROTHERS(Mad Dog pinned Lyons after a Piledriver)JR: What a vicious combination! No question, these brothers are dangerous. They have already put LARRY HENNIG on the shelf with their wanton acts of violence. Tonight, Billy Red Lyons was fortunate not to be the next on that list. The action won't get any prettier in this next contest, either. THE CRUSHER (w/ SENSATIONAL SHERRI MARTEL) vs. KING KONG BUNDY (w/ JIM CORNETTE)On the heels of his win over Harley Race, Bundy was hell bent on destroying The Crusher! It didn't take long for his onslaught to materialize, as Charles Robinson found himself in the path of a turnbuckle splash and went down hard. In an instant, BOBBY EATON and STAN LANE stormed the ring, and Cornette's men launched a three-on-one assault on the Crusher! The Crusher fought back gamely, but the numbers game got the best of him and the Midnights drove him shoulder-first into the ring post! Sherri screamed for help, and HARLEY RACE and NICK PATRICK rushed to ringside. Cornette and his men scattered, but the damage had been done. While Race and Sherri assisted Crusher, Nick Patrick went to the announcers' table and informed JR that Bundy had been disqualified. WINNER: THE CRUSHER(Bundy disqualified for outside interference)JR: The war between Sherri and Cornette wages on, and we have seen another apparent casualty. Crusher is your winner by disqualification here this evening... but at what price? That remains to be seen, ladies and gentlemen. Unfortunately, ladies and gentlemen, it appears that Crusher is not the only victim- Charles Robinson is being helped back to the locker room after taking that splash from Bundy. While we are waiting, let's go backstage and catch up with our man behind the scenes, 'WILDMAN' BUTCH MICHAELS.Butch: Thank you, JR. It's great to be back! I have a special guest backstage who has agreed to an interview. He is one-half of one of the hottest tag teams in the Heartland! Team Canada is preparing to challenge for the United States Tag Team Championship, and it is largely the genius of this man, THE MOUNTIE, that has led this team to the verge of greatness! Mountie, give us your thoughts about tonight's title match. Mountie: Oh, Canada! Our home and native land! Mr. Michaels, how fitting it will be for Angelo Mosca and me to win the championship- the UNITED STATES championship- and return the belts to our glorious mother land! A commotion arises behind The Mountie, and RICK RUDE and SO CAL VAL dash onto the scene.Butch: Rick Rude? What are you doing here? I thought you and Val were headed to Japan! Rude: Japan? No way! Me and Val will NEVER let that bozo ROB BENNETT ship us off to Japan. Mountie- you gotta help us! Can you give me directions to Canada? Maybe we can find some draft dodgers up there to hide us! Help a brother out, dude! Mountie: Draft dodgers? How dare you! I will have you know, sir, that Canada does not welcome draft dodgers. The beautiful north will not be insulted by such language. We only welcome Conscientious Objectors. Rude: Yeah, yeah, that's it. Can I get directions? Help me out and I'll pay you a thousand pesos. Mountie: Pesos? Are you nuts? Good sir, I have a title match to attend to! We can discuss your predicament after the match. Mountie brushes past Rude, followed by Mosca, as the Canadian team heads to the ring. JR: What on earth was that? Rick Rude showing up at Old School? What a bizarre turn of events indeed. Let's head back to the ring for tonight's main event- our United States Tag Team Championship match! UNITED STATES TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONG (c) vs. THE MOUNTIE & ANGELO MOSCAThe Canadians took the fight to the Armstrongs from the opening bell! Mosca leveled Brad with a powerful running clothesline, and caught a near fall right at the opening hookup! Mosca continued his attack on Brad, wearing him down and tagging in to Mountie. Mountie tied Brad up in a punishing Boston Crab, leaving the young Armstrong desperately clawing his way to the ropes. But as the hold continued, RICK RUDE dashed to ringside. BIG JIM THE ENFORCER hit the scene, attempting to clear Rude out of the arena. In desperation, Rude grabbed the Shock Stick from ringside! But Rude was unable to figure out the mechanics of the shock stick before Big Jim was on him. So, Rude simply drew back and slammed the shock stick over the head of Big Jim! The stick broke into hundreds of tiny pieces. Big Jim was staggered, and Rude quickly dashed out of the ring area!Back in the ring, Brad finally managed to reach the bottom rope. Nick Patrick forced Mountie to break the hold, and Mountie turned around to see his broken shock stick on the arena floor! The distraction allowed Brad to escape and tag in to Bob Armstrong. Mosca alertly tagged himself into the match and engaged in a fierce brawl with Bob. Mosca dominated the action, pounding on Armstrong with punches before dropping him with a football tackle. Mosca then loaded up his elbow pad and executed a pair of Big Nasty Elbow Drops on Bob, and it looked like the titles were in jeopardy when Mosca went for the cover! But Brad alertly made the save. Mountie hit the ring, and soon all four men were brawling! Mosca clotheslined Bob out of the ring, then caught him with another Big Nasty Elbow Drop on the arena floor. The elder Armstrong went down like a log, and was unable to return to the ring ahead of the ten count. WINNERS: ANGELO MOSCA & THE MOUNTIE(Bob Armstrong counted out after an Elbow Drop on the arena floor)BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONG RETAIN THE UNITED STATES TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPJR: That Rick Rude is a shameless character, no question. Interrupting a championship match? That is unpardonable. I guess Rude felt safe here since ANTONIO INOKI went to Warfare. But I am not sure if he made any friends here at Old School- he broke Mountie's Shock Stick! In spite of that, Team Canada wins tonight's main event. Even though the Armstrongs hold onto the belts, Mountie and Mosca will get another shot at the belts in the future. A disappointing conclusion to tonight's match, but we may be seeing a great rivalry developing. That will wrap things up for tonight, folks. Be sure to come back on Wednesday night for our next broadcast of Warfare. DAYTONDAVE and his misfits will be at it again, with a show featuring BUFF BAGWELL and KONNAN in your main event! Until then, fans, so long from the Buckeye State! Heartland Championship Wrestling Wednesday Night Warfare March 18, 2009 (Card #203) Ernsthausen Community Center, Norwalk, Ohio The show opens with Warfare General Manager DAYTONDAVE in the ring with a microphone. The tune, "Livin' On The Edge" by Aerosmith wails over the sound system as the crowd cheers the opening of the show. Daytondave: Hey, fans, welcome to Heartland Championship Wrestling! Daytondave and the boys are comin' back at ya with another hot night of action! You heard it here on Saturday night- we're coming up on Heartland Havoc XXV: Silver Anniversary Slamfest which will be headed your way in a few short weeks. And for a HOT show like Havoc XXV, we have the hottest rock band in history signed on to provide our theme song! Aerosmith still rocks after all these years, and we will be Livin' On The Edge on Saturday night, April 4 from the Nut House in Dayton! But for tonight, fans, we're here in the bustling metropolis of Norwalk with some hot Heartland action. We're gonna see the Candy Cup defended right here tonight, when the cup holder, JUSHIN 'THUNDER' LIGER defends against the former cup holder, MIKE QUACKENBUSH. So grab yourself a cold one, relax, and enjoy the show! (Tonight's referee: Heather Owens)RICKY LANDELL vs. THE SANDMAN (w/ JONNY FAIRPLAY)Landell dazzled the Warfare fan base for the second straight week! The contest was evenly matched for much of the early going, until DRAKE YOUNGER and JUSTIN CREDIBLE came to ringside to support Sandman! But Landell would not be distracted, and managed to escape an attempted ambush by Younger, forcing Heather to send both members of Bloodlust back to the dressing area! As Younger departed, Credible managed to nail Landell with a cheap shot and put him on the canvas! Timely distraction from Jonny Fairplay prevented Heather Owens from seeing the infraction, and the match continued. Despite the blow, Landell fought his way back, dodging a deathjump to take control of the contest. From there, Landell never looked back. It took a protracted series of moves, but Landell finally finished off Sandman as the crowd roared its approval. WINNER: RICKY LANDELL(Landell pinned Sandman with the Fisherman Buster)Daytondave: How about that, sports fans! Two weeks in a row, Ricky Landell has put two tough opponents down with his Fisherman Buster! The crowd is into this kid, and the future looks bright. Last week, it was BOB ORTON who took the fall. Let's see if his luck improves here tonight. COWBOY BOB ORTON (w/ LARRY SWEENEY) vs. TOM PRICHARDAfter a protracted struggle, Orton overpowered Prichard and beat him cleanly. WINNER: COWBOY BOB ORTON(Orton pinned Prichard after a Death Valley Driver)Daytondave: Not much competition from Prichard. This guy is in over his head here at Warfare. Dude needs to show me something if he wants to have his contract renewed. As Prichard leaves the ring, RICK RUDE dashes in and meets him at ringside.Rude: Hey, buddy! Give me a hand here! Prichard: Excuse me? Rude: Are you a doctor? Prichard: That's me, baby! The Doctor of Desire! Rude: No, you idiot! I need your help. You got any cash? You doctors always carry cash. I need some gas money to get to Canada. Prichard holds his hands out to the sides.Prichard: Dude, I just wrestled a match. Do I look like I'm carrying any cash? Even if I were, pal, I wouldn't be handing it out to freeloaders. Rude: Don't get smart with me, wise guy. Do you know who the hell I am? Prichard: If you were anybody important, you wouldn't be heading to Canada. What's so important up there? Suddenly, the music of ANTONIO INOKI plays overhead. Rude looks startled and dashes out of the arena, just before Inoki and TIGER MASK make their way to the ring. Prichard looks befuddled as he scratches his head and departs.ANTONIO INOKI & TIGER MASK vs. BLOODLUST (JUSTIN CREDIBLE & DRAKE YOUNGER w/ JONNY FAIRPLAY)Inoki may have barely missed a confrontation with Rude, but his encounter with the team of Bloodlust was no picnic. Justin Credible brutalized Tiger Mask with the Singapore cane, then Drake Younger smashed a light tube across Inoki's back. Once again, quick thinking by Jonny Fairplay allowed Bloodlust to distract Heather Owens and avoid the disqualification. Enraged, Inoki set himself after Younger, striking back at Drake with his own light tube. This time, Heather caught the infraction and called for the bell, disqualifying Inoki for the use of the foreign object! WINNERS (via disqualification): BLOODLUST(Inoki disqualified for use of a foreign object)Daytondave: What the hell just happened? Inoki got disqualified? ( Laughs) You never know what you're going to see on Warfare, fans. Antonio Inoki is one of the most honorable men in wrestling, but maybe not one of the brightest. Score one for Jonny Fairplay and his team, as Bloodlust comes away with a tainted victory. MIL MASCARAS vs. STEVE CORINOMascaras dominated the contest from the opening bell. Corino barely got any offense in before Mil finished him decisively. WINNER: MIL MASCARAS(Mascaras pinned Corino after a Flying Bodypress)Daytondave: Fans, that was a textbook exhibition by Mascaras. He can fly, he can mat wrestle, he can do it all. Kudos to Mascaras for that impressive win! All right, fans, our next match will feature two tag teams who have hit some rough times lately. THE HIGH ROLLERS are just getting back to action after an injury suffered by DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE. The Rollers have a long-standing rivalry with THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS, but the Outlaws have also been facing trouble since they were trounced in their HCW Tag Team Championship shot. But it appears that the Outlaws made a good decision by hiring SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK to guide their careers. Humperdink has the boys on the same page now, and we'll see how they fare against their old rivals here tonight. THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS (KIP & BG JAMES w/ SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK) vs. THE HIGH ROLLERS (DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE & PLAYBOY BUDDY ROSE w/ TRINITY DENUCCI)The return of the Outlaws was cut short by Diamond Dallas, who dominated Kip James and pinned him with a Russian Leg Sweep! WINNERS: THE HIGH ROLLERS(Page pinned Kip after a Russian Leg Sweep)After the match, tempers again flared between Kip and BG. Humperdink tried to step between them, but Kip poked BG in the chest and BG shoved him away. Before the confrontation could escalate, LARRY SWEENEY strutted down to ringside!Sweeney: Boys, boys, boys! What seems to be the trouble here? You don't mean to tell me that the greatest tag team in Heartland history suddenly can't get along? There must be something we can do about that! You need career help? Super Agent Larry Sweeney at your service! Humperdink: Get out of here, Sweeney, you little fuzzy-headed prick. This doesn't concern you! Sweeney smirks and pulls a stack of business cards from his jacket. He offers a card to BG, who tears it up and throws it into the air. Kip accepts the card, prompting BG to poke him in the chest and raise his hands in bewilderment. Sweeney patted Kip on the back, but Humperdink stepped between them, brushed past Sweeney coldly, and headed back to the locker room as BG followed.Daytondave: Whoa! Looks like all is still not well in the land of the Outlaws! And leave it to Larry Sweeney to stir things up. Will Kip James sign on with Sweet and Sour, Incorporated? We'll have to wait and see, I guess. What we will see next is whether Sweeney can manage BUFF BAGWELL to a shot at the American Heavyweight Championship. AMERICAN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: #1 CONTENDERS' MATCHBUFF BAGWELL (w/ LARRY SWEENEY) vs. KONNANBagwell strutted and flexed his way past Konnan. After an evenly matched opening series, Bagwell took the match out of the ring and powerbombed Konnan onto the arena fllor. Konnan managed to slide back into the ring ahead of the 10-count, but was never the same after the bone-jarring manuver and Bagwell finished him off in style. WINNER: BUFF BAGWELL(Bagwell pinned Konnan with a Buff Blockbuster)Daytondave: A strong performance by Buff Bagwell! Bagwell has earned his way to a title shot against DANNY HODGE. How he will fare against the dominant American Heavyweight Champion is anybody's guess. Now, fans, the Main Event match we have been waiting for- the Candy Cup Cruiserweight rematch! MAIN EVENT: CANDY CUP CRUISERWEIGHT CHALLENGEJUSHIN 'THUNDER' LIGER vs. MIKE QUACKENBUSHThe match was nowhere near as competitive as the previous bout, as Liger dominated the contest and pinned Quack cleanly after a pair of Fisherman's Busters/ WINNER: JUSHIN 'THUNDER' LIGER(Liger pinned Quackenbush with a Fisherman's Buster)JUSHIN LIGER RETAINS THE JOHN CANDY MEMORIAL CRUISERWEIGHT CUPDaytondave: Liger was in total control of that match. That's pretty darned impressive against a top cruiserweight like Mike Quackenbush. Congratulations to Liger for retaining the Candy Cup! All right, fans, we're done here. Havoc XXV will be on us before you know it! Brody and Morishima are all set for their final championship showdown, but we have a lot more business to settle between now and April 4. You won't believe what JR JAMES has scheduled for Old School this Saturday night! Two out of three falls for the Great Lakes Heavyweight Championship- JIMMY SNUKA vs. NICK BOCKWINKEL! Be sure and tune in at 6:05 this Saturday night for that contest. Until then, fans, that's our show, and I AM OUTTA HERE! Heartland Championship Wrestling Old School Saturday Night March 21, 2009 (Card #204) Beeghley Center, Youngstown, Ohio The show opens with JR JAMES in the ring to address the crowd. JR: Ladies and gentlemen, good evening, and welcome to Old School Saturday Night! It is our privilege to be joining you here from Youngstown, Ohio, the home town of RAY 'BOOM-BOOM' MANCINI, BERNIE KOSAR, and JIM TRESSEL, and the site of many great wrestling events over the years. And tonight promises to rank right up there with the greatest bouts in Heartland Championship Wrestling history. Tonight, right here in the Beeghley Center, the Great Lakes Heavyweight Championship will be decided as NICK BOCKWINKEL defends the title in a two out of three falls showdown against the former champion, JIMMY 'SUPERFLY' SNUKA! These two men have met twice before, and each has come away victorious. This evening, the issue will be settled once and for all, with the Great Lakes title belt as the spoils. And in addition, we have a loaded undercard for you as well. Now, let's head to the ring for tonight's opening contest! (Tonight's referee: Nick Patrick)'SWEET' STAN LANE (w/ JIM CORNETTE) vs. BOBO BRAZIL (w/ SLICK)Lane did everything in his power to neutralize the power of Brazil. But, despite several flurries by Sweet Stan, Bobo finally caught him and planted him with a Coco Butt for the pinfall. WINNER: BOBO BRAZIL(Brazil pinned Lane after a Coco Butt)JR: Not a surprising outcome in that match. The only surprise was how well Lane fared against the powerhouse. And now, fans, let's welcome the hottest new manager in Old School as SENSATIONAL SHERRI MARTEL has signed on to manage two of the toughest hombres around. The tune, "Barracuda" by Heart plays overhead and the dynamic Sherri emerges at the top of the ring ramp. Sherri parts the curtain and HARLEY RACE emerges. Race is still sporting a nasty scar on his scalp in the aftermatch of his Taped Fist match against KING KONG BUNDY. Undaunted, Race and Sherri hit the ring to the cheers of the crowd.HARLEY RACE (w/ SHERRI MARTEL) vs. DON MURACORace continued to struggle with his injury, and Muraco took full advantage. Muraco pounded away at Harley, opening him up early in the match. Sherri did her best to support Race, but before long her antics grew tiresome and Nick Patrick ejected her from ringside! Muraco viciously gouged Race across the forehead with the Asiatic Spike, and with Race a bloody mess, Muraco put him down for the three-count. WINNER: DON MURACO(Muraco pinned Race with a Piledriver)As Race exited the ring with assistance from Sherri, JIM CORNETTE came to the top of the ring ramp with a microphone. Cornette: Uh, Sherri darling? NICE TRY! But I'm afraid that your man Harley just isn't quite the same after the beating that Bundy gave him. Maybe you won the little battle at the last Heartland Havoc, but Old School is *MY* world, missy, and you and your dimwitted minions had better think twice about messing with us! As Cornette finishes his rant, Sherri begins to make her way up the ring ramp, assisting Race. Cornette quickly drops the microphone and scurries through the curtain and out of harm's way.JR: A rough night indeed for Harley Race. Bundy has certainly weakened Race, but sometimes a cornered animal can be the most dangerous of all. Deep down, I think Cornette understands that, and he certainly proved that discretion is the better part of valor when he made his hasty departure. Whether he will get his ultimate comeuppance remains to be seen. Next week, ladies and gentlemen, Old School will bring you a United States Heavyweight Championship match, as the champion, RAY STEVENS, defends his title against the number one contender, the Japanese icon, GIANT BABA. Let's take a look at Baba in a match-up against THE IRON SHEIK. IRON SHEIK (w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV) vs. GIANT BABAThe "tune-up" match for Baba turned out to be a little more than he expected. Baba took a shot from the Sheik's loaded boot in the early going, then found himself on the receiving end of a Sidewinder for a near-fall! But Baba kept his poise and battled back, dropping the Sheik with a mighty Chop. After a devastating Neckbreaker Drop, it looked like curtains for Sheik, but Breznikov interrupted the count of Nick Patrick and the match continued. Sheik dumped Baba to the ring floor, and rammed his head into the steel rails. Patrick decided he had seen enough and disqualified Sheik for the infraction. WINNER: (via disqualification): GIANT BABA(Sheik disqualified for an attack outside the ring)JR: Oh, my goodness! Baba was lucky to get away with his skull intact from that situation. He is your winner by disqualification, and fortunately, he appears to be all right. I believe he will be fine for his title match next week, and there is no question that the champion Stevens will have his hands full. What's that? Fans, I have just been informed that there is a disturbance in the back stage area. WILDMAN BUTCH MICHAELS- what's going on back there? Butch: JR, I have NO explanation for this- but RICK RUDE is back here and he has lost his mind! He claims to be looking for THE MOUNTIE about heading on a trip to Canada. But as soon as GIANT BABA came backstage, Rude has gone berserk! He has locked himself in the janitor's closet, but he continues to rant and rave about something. We can't hear him clearly, but I believe he has a cell phone back there with him. Sounds like he's screaming at someone named Adam, but we can't be sure. JR: Thank you for the update, Butch. Please keep us posted if there are any further developments. Ladies and gentlemen, as you know, Rick Rude is on the lam, and trying to prevent ROB BENNETT from sending him to Japan! Perhaps he is trying to reach out to his tag team partner, ADAM PEARCE, for help. So far, he has tried without success to get assistance from TOM PRICHARD and from THE MOUNTIE. What will happen next is anybody's guess. We'll keep an eye on Rude, ladies and gentlemen, but for the moment, we need to get back to the ring for our next match. CURT HENNIG vs. THE CRUSHER (w/ SHERRI MARTEL)The match between Hennig and Crusher was a textbook contrast in styles. Hennig opened the match with a flurry, sending the Crusher reeling with knee lifts and dropkicks. Curt nailed the Hennig Plex, but interference from Sherri again saved her man from defeat. Crusher battled back, taking the action to the ring floor and pummeling Hennig from pillar to post. Hennig was gassed, and Crusher finished him off with the Stomach Claw. WINNER: THE CRUSHER(Crusher forced Hennig to submit to the Stomach Claw)JR: What a fine contest indeed between two reluctant heroes in the Old School. Looks like THE CRUSHER is headed our way! Crusher, Sir, what is on your mind? Crusher: What's on my mind? JR, do you believe that numbskull JIM CORNETTE wants to come out here and insult the dignity of such a fine dame as MISS SHERRI? I guess one whoopin' weren't enough for you, pal? Now youse lissen to me. We got another Heartland Havoc comin' real soon. Hows about you, KING KONG BUNDY and JIM CORNETTE, settle things once and for all with me and Miss Sherri? Crusher drops the microphone and walks away.JR: How about that, ladies and gentlemen? Crusher has challenged Bundy to a mixed tag team match at Heartland Havoc! We'll need an answer from Bundy and Cornette- we'll just see if they will be willing to get back in the ring against Crusher and Sherri! THE KILLER BEES (B. BRIAN BLAIR & 'JUMPIN' JIM BRUNZELL) vs. BRUTUS 'THE GEEK' BEEFCAKE & GREG 'THE HAMMER' VALENTINETwo of the classic teams of the 80's went at it in a grueling battle. Frequent tags and crisp execution by both teams kept the bout competitive until Valentine took over on Brunzell. Two painful applications of the Figure-4 neutralized Jumpin' Jim, forcing him to tag out to Blair. The Dream Team duo methodically worked Blair over until Beefcake was able to put him down for the three-count. WINNERS: BRUTUS BEEFCAKE & GREG VALENTINE(Beefcake pinned Blair with a Flying Knee Smash)JR: A very solid match between two seasoned teams, but there is no question that the totem pole is formidable here in the tag team ranks of the Old School. Now, fans, it is finally time to see one of the most anticipated match-ups of 2009 here in Old School. These two men have battled back and forth, with the Great Lakes Heavyweight Championship at stake. And tonight, two great legends of the sport will meet in a best two out of three falls matchup to determine once and for all- who is the better man? Will it be NICK BOCKWINKEL? Or the 'SUPERFLY' JIMMY SNUKA? Let's head back to the ring for tonight's Main Event! As the participants are introduced, the scene cuts to the service entrance to the Beeghley Center. A black van appears, and drives slowly to the entrance. OLD SCHOOL GREAT LAKES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: TWO OUT OF THREE FALLS NICK BOCKWINKEL (c) vs. JIMMY 'SUPERFLY' SNUKAFirst Fall: Bockwinkel got the jump on Snuka and put him down early with a Boston Crab. Snuka survived the hold and managed to fight back, but was unable to to any significant damage before Bockwinkel locked in the Sleeper and forced Snuka to submit. Snuka staggered to the corner, dazed, as Nick Patrick timed the one-minute break between falls. Before the match resumed, another commotion arose from backstage! ADAM PEARCE, accompanied by CHRIS JERICHO and LANCE STORM, pounded away at the janitor's closet with a sledgehammer, finally breaking the door open and freeing Rick Rude! The four men dashed through the halls and emerged at the top of the ring ramp! Just as Patrick was about to call for the bell, the four Tradition invaders hit the ring and assaulted both competitors! Rude dumped Snuka out of the ring, while the other three men went to work on Bockwinkel. Despite his best efforts, Bockwinkel was already winded and quickly found himself a victim of the numbers game. Pearce picked up Bockwinkel in a piledriver position, and Jericho and Storm came off the middle rope to assist Pearce in dropping Bockwinkel with a thunderous Spike Piledriver! Bockwinkel crashed to the canvas hard, and lay motionless in the corner. Heartland Security forces, led by BIG JIM THE ENFORCER, stormed the ring, prompting Pearce and his allies to scatter. JR: Are you kidding me? These unwanted scoundrels from Tradition have raided the Old School! Bockwinkel is in bad shape, fans. It looks like Pearce and his squadron have jumped into a van and departed from the arena. This match is unable to be completed, and Nick Patrick has declared this bout a "No Contest". No question, ladies and gentlemen, this is one of the most reprehensible acts I've seen in the history of Heartland Wrestling. This was supposed to be a historic night and a historic match, but I am afraid that simply will not come to pass here this evening. It looks like the paramedics will need to be summoned for Mr. Bockwinkel, so we are going to clear the arena and call it a night. My deepest apologies, ladies and gentlemen, for the outcome of this evening's events. We'll get the things situated here, and we will be back in action next week. I'm sure we'll have some announcements about this situation, the Great Lakes title, and the future of the Heartland's working agreement with Tradition Wrestling. Until then, fans, so long from the Buckeye State!
