I just like to see the spineless squirm sometimes.
Call me a sadist.

My problem is that you're coming across very condesending.
I think the bootleg scene has been very important in keeping this game fresh and exciting. And I think Tom would agree.
And I still have the red and blue dice. And I do agree, they are killer.

But bootlegs weren't the original topic. It was altering official COTG characters. If you want to create and use bootlegs, fine more power to you. If you want to alter official COTG characters, that's great too, just don't pretend that you are actually using "Wolf" if that card now has a (O) finisher with all down-3's on Level 2 defense....

Sorry I took a tone with you, bossman. (Oops that probably didn't help)
I don't care what you do. Read that for a second
I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU DO.
Seriously, all the bootleggers that sell their sets should kiss the ground Tom walks on. He would have every right to prevent that from happening.
But we agree that Tom is a cool guy who obviously isn't in for himself.
So do what you want.

I think someone pointed out that altering stats is pretty much the much the same as making bootlegs. Thats basically how I ended up getting into it. It was purely by accident. I didnt mean to turn it into a discussion of the validity of bootlegs and what not.

Ive actually never totally agreed with the selling of Bootlegs. I always thought that bootlegs should be shared, not sold.
But somewhere along the line, and I dont know who sold the first bootleg set. Maybe those nGo guys? Who knows. But ever since...people want 10 bucks for a set. I refuse to pay usually and just find other means of obtaining the wrestlers.

I think the point here is how DARE anyone defy Swarm and/or his little Yes-Men GateKeeper and Joe. How DARE you? DAMN YOU for raising an issue to Tom.
By doing so, you are playing the game WRONG, and you have insulted Tom. You may as well have eaten his children.
Swarm and his cronies will STRIKE YOU DOWN.
Because you are WRONG and only Swarm is right.
WRONG.

I didnt mean to turn it into a discussion of the validity of bootlegs and what not. it's cool. This is a discussion board and sometimes spider webs into different things...no big deal. As far as "ganging up" on one guy...look, if you are going to admit to changing card stats, it is to be expected, although I wouldn't call it "ganging up" on him. Is he going to take a ton of heat for it from many different directions? Sure...the funny part is that he can't understand why... I'm sure no one really cares what he does with his fed, but a discussion board is a discussion board, and this one happens to be filled with many passionate players with strong loyalty to Tom and his game, so when you admit to changing stats, expect a debate. You lye in the bed you make for yourself as they say.

Whoa there Butters. I think you might just of opened the floodgates.
Ill be honest, i live about 20 minutes south of Detroit, and yeah, Michiganders can bust some skulls.
And anyway, discussion like this is healthy to a certain degree. At least until it turns into name calling and stuff.

If you can't handle that you should leave all of us big boys and go back to the Sesame Street forum.

See, Butters learned his lesson last year when he tried to trade all his best players away in our FF league so I wouldn't win...he disrupted the balance of our league and it eventually led to him being made fun of so bad he took his ball and went home like the crybaby cheater that he is. Glad to see you have finally seen the light little friend. Good to have you back.

Intentionally uneven trades in a Fantasy Football league.... I've proposed several bills to Congress and this will be punishable with a $100 fine by 2008.

I think Mr. Butters just felt like he was being attacked. And I can sorta see why he might feel that way.
"Heat" isn't for everyone.
But a little heat is better then no heat right? Maybe not, unless of course you're trying to get over or something.

Not Butters though, he just jumped in at the tail end of page 6 and started flaming.

By doing so, you are playing the game WRONG, and you have insulted Tom. You may as well have eaten his children. Swarm and his cronies will STRIKE YOU DOWN. Because you are WRONG and only Swarm is right. WRONG. Butters- First of all, I am nobody's yes-man. I come up with my own opinions and express them. I didn't get into this discussion because I am someone's yes-man. I expressed my opinion because I read someone's comments, and wanted to say what I thought. If I happen to share a similar opinion with Swarm and/or Gatekeeper, so be it. It's not like I call them up first thing in the morning and say, "OK, guys, what are we going to say today?" There are plenty of other people who feel the same way as Swarm, GK and myself about the altering of card stats, so for you to single Gate and myself out as "yes-men" was uncalled for. As a matter of fact, I have often shared opinions, and expressed them, with other members of this board. That doesn't make me a yes-man to them any more than it makes you a ho for putting my name in your mouth. Then again, maybe you are a... nevermind. As far as anyone daring to "defy" me goes, I haven't told anyone what to do so it is impossible to defy me. I said I thought it was pointless to change stats on an official card. I said, in a few more words, that the card was created in such a way for a reason and to change it made no sense to me. I could care less what Jefft, Death match Kid, or your buttery, Pillsbury biscuit butt does in your fed. I have not been rude with anyone on this thread. I have expressed myself, as they have expressed themselves. For some reason, you have decided to call me out during the course of some bitch fit. That is your prerogative, but I would like to know why you want to come at me all personal-like when I have never even communicated with you. -Joe

Somehow Ive been lumped in with Jeff and Butters here. I 'm somewhat offended. Im not trying to convince anyone that what I might do in my own little world should be paid attention to. I don't really care if anyone agrees with what I do, because I dont agree with a lot of people on how they do things. But I always try to look at it from their point of view. I think the purists vs. the Bootleggers debate is pretty moot. But its fun seeing how others feel about certain things.
