Tonights the debut of the Ninth Doctor Who, and this is Season One of the new series. I know this is the only season that the Ninth Doctor will appear in, and then in Season Two the Tenth Incarnation begins his journy. I was a fan of Paul McGahn (sp?) as the Eigth Doctor in the Fox Television Movie, but it was not a success so they pulled a plug on a series with this actor. I'm looking to see what will take place with this Doctor and where he'll be going, plus will the Master play a role in this series. The thing that I really can't wait to hear is the traditional Doctor Who music, will it be updated but still the same.

While I had seen both of last night's episodes already, it sure was good to see Dr. Who back on American T.V. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do not believe that the Master will be appear this season. As for old foes appearing, here is an episode coming up called Dalek that is excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

Awesome! It is great to see the good Doctor back, and those two episode's really reminded me of how cool Dr.Who really is, great stuff! I really like Rose, she's got a spunkyness to her... she's good looking too. The Second Episode was really great, the Doctor shined in this episode more then the first one.

9pm on Friday's on the Sci-F Channel, it was on for two hours this past Friday with the first two episodes...plus, the first season DVD comes out in the States on July 4th. Whose your favorite past Dr.Who? I gather most would say Tom Baker, and I agree... but I also like the actor who took over for Baker and that is Peter Davison.

I'm disappointed I missed the two-hour premiere. Does anyone know if it will repeat on sci-fi?
And Tom Baker was by far my favorite. His portrayal was so incredible that I had trouble seeing anyone else in the role...kind of like Basil Rathbone playing Sherlock Holmes.

Tom... Tonight at 11:30pm to 1:30am, or tomorrow at 10:00am to 12:00pm... "ROSE" and "THE END OF THE WORLD" are two separate episodes but are the first two in the season. I really like Episode Two "THE END OF THE WORLD" it really captures Dr.Who, and it had some great action.

Tom Baker will always be a favorite because he was the first Doctor that I saw. But I really like Sylvester McCoy's (7th Doctor) portrayal. He brought a sense of mystery to the Doctor, especially in the very last season of the show.

Whoa, thanks for reminding me here... replays of the first 2 episodes come on again on Thursday. This looks like it's going to be a good show, even though I've not seen the old Dr. Who show.

Hope you enjoy the show tafkaga. It is written assuming the audience has not seen the original series. But there are plenty of nods to the old show to keep us "old" fans happy.

One thing that really made me laugh from "The End of the World" was... (Spoiler if not seen yet) When the last human, the flat skin human had her two servents bring out a Juke Box and she/he called it a iPod, LOL! Dr.Who returns and I can't wait to see this season unfold and I hope the ratings will be strong so we get Season Two with the Tenth Doctor.

How long's this season supposed to last...anyone?
Just watched "Rose", and The Doc and Rose were both GREAT (I don't remember Billie Piper being so attractive)...
Fantastic stuff.

have both shows recorded and hope to watch them this week before Friday so i can enjoy the next show and not have to watch three hours next weekend.
While i have never been a big Dr. Who follower (more of a Red Dwarf guy myself), i am really getting into Sci-Fi Channel's knack for finding something that i am willing to watch...because the broadcast networks would never put on shows like this anymore.

The Sci-Fi Channel has delivered with Battlestar Galactica and the BBC's Doctor Who, the Stargates are good at times but not enough to draw me in every episode. I'm hoping Sci-Fi will pick Season Two up of Doctor Who, but right now I'm enjoying Season One. Red Dwarf is a solid show, wish Sci-Fi would pick that up in reruns.

Doctor Who is the best!
Sylvester McCoy was my favourite incarnation... mostly because I became a fan of the 'New Adventures' book series after the original series was cancelled.
Anyway, it's nice to see the show back with a budget this time!
