I disagree, Dennis...
Eccleston's performance is one of the best I have ever seen, period, and it's definitely our loss.

I've never watched Dr. Who before this new series (I was too young when it was on PBS, and then it was gone from American TV) so I was pretty excited about the series. I missed the first 3 episodes because I'm an idiot, but I saw "World War Three" and "Dalek" and found them both very good... definately the best show Sci-Fi has put out since Farscape.

Another solid episode of Dr.Who, I just finished watching the episode a few hours ago and I liked this bizzar storyline surrounding a alien who control's the human race via the NEWS. Next weeks show looks great too, and you've got to love the Theme Song and the sound the TARDIS makes when it appears for the first time or is leaving it's location... GREAT STUFF!

"Fathers Day" Yet another awesome episode during season one of Doctor Who, I have to say that the writers really hit the nail on the head with these great stories. Plus, the actors really made this episode a touching show... it was cool that Rose was there for her father at the end, this episode tops at #1 this season.

I agree about Friday's episode "Fathers Day". I had reservations about the show after the first couple of episodes, but it seems the writing got better eash episode. It was hard for me after watching Tom Baker to accept another doctor, buty Chris Eccleston version is very good. It is a shame he will not continue.
Favorite line: "Look at me, I'm stupid"

"Father's Day" was another excellent episode. A very well written and thought provoking story that is carried by an excellent performance by Billie Piper.

The new season of Doctor Who has begun airing in England and I am hearing good things about the new Doctor. It sounds like they are really focusing on the relationship between the Doctor and Rose. I hope the Sci-Fi channel picks up the new Season.

They have the option for Season Two pending on the ratings for Season One. July 4th is not only a great holiday here in the states, but we get the DVD set of Season One of Doctor Who... I'll be getting this set so I can enjoy the season over and over.

"The Empty Child" Man Alive! These two parters drive me nuts, this weeks episode really rocked! "Mommy" "Are You My Mommy?" This episode has that strange vibe to it that makes it one of the top episodes in this series, I'm wondering whats up with the Time Agents and I'm wondering if they will explain more about the Time Agents not only in part two but later in season one and maybe season two.

I know what you mean by the two-parters. I was really into this week's episode. It was so strange and unusual and creepy that I had no idea what was going on or what was going to happen next. And then, just as the tension reaches a peak the episode ends and we have to wait a week to find out what is going on. This season has seen some of the best Dr. Who stories EVER!!! I am enjoying the Doctor's return to TV even more than I knew I would. GREAT STUFF!!!!!!!!

I'm wondering if there will be any homages to some of the older actors who played the good Doctor in Season Two or the episode's that we have not seen of Season One? I know this series is new and fresh from the original's, but a few hints here there couldn't hurt. Speaking of hints, I really loved the Movie made by FOX... I loved when they had a scarf that was worn by Tom Bakers Doctor, thats what I would like to see in the new series just alittle.

"The Doctor Dances" The second half of "The Empty Child" was awesome! I was suprised on how this episode played out, it was a really solid conclusion to this two parter. "Are You My Mummy?"

And Captain Jack was pretty awesome, too.

"Boom Town" A solid episode, the key factor and spotlight was on how Mickey has been left for dead by Rose, and you can see his anger in this episode. This has been a blast since Battlestar ended, I'm glad that Sci-Fi picked this show up!

I don't have a lot of sympathy for Mickey, myself. Maybe it's just me...maybe it's just that The Doctor and Jack are both 100 times more likeable than Mickey.
Not saying Rose has a right to expect Mickey to sit on his bum waiting for her...but it's also not like we've seen him be an impressive boyfriend on the show, either.

Not saying Rose has a right to expect Mickey to sit on his bum waiting for her...but it's also not like we've seen him be an impressive boyfriend on the show, either. You defiantly got the impression in the very first episode that Rose felt like she was "settling" for Micky as a boyfriend. She felt like he wasn't the greatest catch, but he was better than nothing. But in this past Friday's episode, we see that despite all his faults, Micky really does love Rose. Maybe he was taking her for granted and now that she is gone he realizes how much he misses her. What makes this new Doctor Who so good is that they are developing Rose's home life and exploring the ramifications of her space and time travel on the loved ones she has left behind.
