have both shows recorded and hope to watch them this week before Friday so i can enjoy the next show and not have to watch three hours next weekend. While i have never been a big Dr. Who follower (more of a Red Dwarf guy myself), i am really getting into Sci-Fi Channel's knack for finding something that i am willing to watch...because the broadcast networks would never put on shows like this anymore. The Sci-Fi Channel has delivered with Battlestar Galactica and the BBC's Doctor Who, the Stargates are good at times but not enough to draw me in every episode. I'm hoping Sci-Fi will pick Season Two up of Doctor Who, but right now I'm enjoying Season One. Red Dwarf is a solid show, wish Sci-Fi would pick that up in reruns. That is one show that is missing from SciFi's lineup...a Sci-Fi or fantasy parpody...I own all the Red Dwarf videos and have started to get the DVDs so i can get my fill on them at will...but something funny and new would be great! Tripping the Rift is about as close as i have seen to a good Sci-Fi comedy...If you have not seen it...highly recommend it...but not for the young ones (mature themes throughout)

I'm disappointed I missed the two-hour premiere. Does anyone know if it will repeat on sci-fi? And Tom Baker was by far my favorite. His portrayal was so incredible that I had trouble seeing anyone else in the role...kind of like Basil Rathbone playing Sherlock Holmes. I am a BIG Tom Baker fan myself. =D

One thing that really made me laugh from "The End of the World" was... (Spoiler if not seen yet) When the last human, the flat skin human had her two servents bring out a Juke Box and she/he called it a iPod, LOL! Dr.Who returns and I can't wait to see this season unfold and I hope the ratings will be strong so we get Season Two with the Tenth Doctor. Yeah that one was a trip.. i saw it the other night.

I watched the first two episodes of Doctor Who tonight. It was my first time ever seeing Doctor Who. I am undecided right now on whether I'm going to watch anymore. I'm a big sci-fi fan but I prefer a darker and more dramatic sci-fi like Star Trek DS9 and Babylon 5. Doctor Who seems really weird and a lot more light/comedic. It reminds me in some ways of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory in its weirdness.
I thought the Doctor was pretty good and so was Rose. The aliens were really cool in the 2nd episode. I liked Cassandra, and thought it was funny when Rose referred to him/her/it as "Michael Jackson". I just didn't really enjoy the whole plot too much. I will probably watch a little more though. So far it's not really my taste.

So far it's not really my taste. Doctor Who was always "light" science fiction. They did do some serious and dramatic episodes from time to time. Tonight's episode (my favorite of the new ones I had the chance to see) has a touch of horror to it.

"The Unquiet Dead" This was a very cool episode, I watched it on Friday and again today. I would say this one ranks #1 with #2 being "The End of the World". I really can't say enough about how this new series really brings back Doctor Who in a BIG WAY!

I think #3 will be my last episode. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but it's just not my taste. I like long story arcs and this show seems to be more episodic. Get in time machine, get off time machine, find problem, solve problem, get back in time machine and fly away. I have a long attention span, and episodic sci-fi just doesn't leave me wanting more.

Rats. I missed #3 because I was out of town. I really enjoyed #2. This new series is starting on a good note and represents what I like about sci-fi---fantastic stories, philosophical concepts, and some humor mixed in.

#3 "Aliens of London" Part One was very excellent, I was hooked and did not expect it to be a two parter. Doctor Who continues to be a must see show, this show tops my list of must watch.

It was a huge hit in UK , god knows why ? . After the series ended the Dr quit the next series . Get a wrestling video out instead and keep rolling the dices . (Heard the Dr Who joke about the daleks . How do you escape a dalek ? . Just go upstairs , they can not climb stairs for 40 years the Dr never knew that !) .

Was wondering when you were gonna chime in on this...Guess the reason they are trying to get the show "over" here in the States is to show BBC that they should try to keep it going... Dr. Who has always had a strong following and there are fans who will watch just because it is a Dr. Who show. There are plenty of shows that have that cult following and the new editions are put out to try and entice the younger audience to become that loyal because they would never watch the original series from back in the day.

Huh...I love the current Dr. Who...it's become can't miss TV for me. Though Bazzy, if it helps, when I watched the most recent episode, I was playing a GWF card while I was doing it...=)

"World War Three" Part Two of "Aliens of London" wrapped up o Friday and it was a really excellent episode. Episode's 2 thru 5 have really captured Dr.Who very well, can't wait to see how this incarnation of this Doctor dies and regenarates into the TENTH Doctor. Rose and her mother really had some of the best scene's I've seen dealing with drama when Rose was packing to leave with the Doctor and during the last moments before Rose went into the TARDIS! GREAT STUFF!

Even though I have only seen her in a couple of episodes, Rose is becoming one of my favorite companions because they are doing such a great job of developing her home life. And while the episode was mostly light hearted and comedic, the moments between Rose and her mom were very touching. Next week's episode is a great one as the Doctor comes face to face with a Dalek!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! I was never a big fan of the Daleks, but these are classic enemies of the good Doctor so it will be great to see the return of the Daleks. I wonder if we will see more of the inside of the TARDIS?

I was always more of a Cyberman fan than a Dalek fan, but the Daleks are classic Dr. Who bad guys. This weeks episode will put the Dalek the Doctor encounters in an entirely different light. It is a very good episode!!!!!!!!!!! (This week's episode is the last of the ones I have had the chance to see already.)

................ WOW! This had to be one of the best if not greatest episode's I've seen in a long time in the whole Doctor Who genre, I was really impressed with this episode called "DALEK". It was really sad to see this Dalek die, but maybe just maybe there are survivors somewhere out there of both the Daleks and the Time Lords....? Eccelston really played the Doctor well in this episode and his anger toward the Dalek and vice versa really made this episode. Rose caring for the Dalek was one of the tear jerker moment if you will in this episode. Great Episode!

What made it great is that it showed just how much the Daleks and The Doctor hate each other. But in light of all that hatred, they managed to turn the Dalek into a sympathetic character. Simply great writing resulting in a memorable episode. And don't worry about that being the last of the Daleks. I have a feeling that they are like cockroaches-you can never truly get rid of them .

I know for sure that Doctor Who is one of the best shows going today, in fact it tops LOST! I'm sick of ABC delaying season two like they have and so I'll wait to the Season 2 DVD comes out to finish watching the show. Now back onto the good Doctor, this series has had no bad episodes so far and I have a feeling that will stand pat for the remainder of Season One. Too bad Eccelston did not stay on as the Doctor, but it's his loss and we will see what the 10th Doctor brings to the table when Season Two is aired here in the States.
