I can't find the 5th one....driving me nuts. Waste of time. Especially considering the completely lame reward for the quest, yeah.

I thought ~1200 gold wasn't terrible....I had to reset to before I got into that glade, lure the atronach away from the center (for fear of our ranged spells knocking those tears further away)....then went and found all 5, thanks to an online map.
Phew. NOT my favorite quest.

I thought ~1200 gold wasn't terrible.... I hated quests that gave gold as the reward, because it was so easy to get other ways. Theft, murder, and vigilante justice all made getting gold really easy. I much preferred the quests that gave you actual items.

I much preferred the quests that gave you actual items. Well that's a good point.....I've been saving up money to furnish the Wizard's Tower....now that my Pirate's Den is fully stocked....and of course I want to stock the Fighter's Stronghold too.....but items would be good. I'm not terribly inspired by what I have thus far. Can you confirm for me that Luck helps with chest and random loot items? I crafted my own Fortify Luck, that last a couple seconds....but long enough to cast, open a chest, and hope for the best.....

I had about 14000 gold and blew it all furnishing the Battlehorn Castle (from the Fighter's Stronghold expansion).....pretty sweet. Got my own winemaker, sparring opponent, knights to follow me around. It's a huge castle. Seemed worth the $ to build it up.

Yes. People that have the PC version (and the construction tools) have confirmed that luck plays a part in the quality of the loot that you get out of chests. I believe, however, that everything on a level is created when you come into it, not when you open a specific chest, so you'd need to drink the potion before you went into a dungeon, not before opening the chest. However, that's a moot point. Seriously, just go all vigilante murder guy on those bandits I told you about, strip their corpses, and sell all the stuff. Then find another couple of bandit dens you can get glass armor out of (there's a nice one b the waterfall NW of Chorral, too, if I remember right), and just go in a big circuit with your awesome vigilante justice and you'll be swimming in ill-gotten gold in no time. And while I never got the expansions with the fighters tower and such, might I recommend Rosethorn Hall in Skingrad? It's extremely expensive, but it's awesome. You get a bunch of display cases for your stuff, there's an awesome magic ring hidden in it, and you can hire a serving wench. It was my favorite house. Benerus Manor in Anvil comes in a close second for being way cheap and having an awesome evil laboratory in its basement.

If it's NW of Chorral, then I think I know where you are talking about.....because Battlehorn Castle is west of Chorral too. Perfect. I'll take your advice to reload my coffers, which are now empty. This is what you get from the Battlehorn expansion (which was free recently for Xbox): www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Battlehorn_Castle

whats so special about a 360 ? It's a personal preference really. If you are a PS2 guy, you probably won't go wrong graduating to PS3. I was a happy Xbox user, and the 360 just appealed to me most. It has some games I really wanted (the Halo series, Mass Effect, et al). The fact that it's cheaper and has an all-around better online experience were factors for me too.

online eh ? tell me more you have my attenion. Just in general -- I think Xbox Live is extremely well-designed, and very affordable ($50/year)....I haven't experienced PS3's answer enough to intelligently talk about it. Halo, if you like shooters, has an incredibly well-thought out online experience, from matchmaking you with comparably skilled opponents to just about everything else. Games like Oblivion don't play online, so there's no much, other than the ability to downloaded additional content like the Fighter's stronghold I've been talking about. Someone like BDS would obviously be able to talk about the selling points of the PS3 more than I ever could.

If you like shooters, the 360 is the way to go. Especially if you like to hear a bunch of prepubescent asshats cursing at you while you're playing. Nothing like having a kid whose balls haven't dropped yet calling you a [censored] [even more censored] and then virtually teabagging you after he kills your guy, no sir.
Alright, to get a little more serious. Reasons to get a PS3:
* You're a big fan of any of the following series: Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, God of War, Gran Turismo, Ratchet and Clank. They're all PS3 exclusives, and MGS and Final Fantasy happen to be the two best video game franchises ever created.
* Free online service. The PSN admittedly isn't as fully featured as XBox Live as of now, but you don't pay $50 a year for it, either. Plus, the feature gap will significantly narrow when Home releases later this year.
* Blu-Ray. If you're interested in having a player for Blu-Ray discs (high-def movies), the PS3 is the cheapest one on the market. Standalone Blu-Ray players run a couple hundred more than a PS3 does. It also works as a DVD upscaler if you have an HDTV.
* Superior Hardware. Every PS3 comes with a hard drive in it, they all come with a blu-ray player so they can read up to 50 GB discs, and the processing power of the PS3 blows away the 360. Now, that's admittedly not a big deal now, because the 360 is easier to program for, but as people get used to the PS3, it's going to be able to do things that the 360 just can't.
* Backwards Compatibility. Most of the models of the PS3 are fully backwards compatible, so your PS2 games will play on them no problem. In fact, if you've got an HDTV, they'll look better, because the PS3 will upscale them to the HD resoution.
* No microphone in the box. Seriously, I consider this a selling point. I do NOT want some idiot calling me a b***h when I'm just trying to play a friendly game of Uno. You can still buy a mic and chat in the games that support voice chat, but you at least have to put some effort into it, and that weeds out some of the problem people.
* They have a significantly lower failure rate than the 360. Google "Red Ring of Death" to learn more.
Now, I'm a big Sony guy. I use my PS3 to store all my music, so it functions as a media center here in my quasi-office. I use my PSP to hook up to it to play music and check in while I'm out and about. I've got old PS2 and PS1 games that I still play a lot. All my friends were getting them, so if I wanted to play with them, that's the route I needed to go. There really was no other choice for me, but that's my certain case.
If you're really looking at upgrading, though, I'd take a look at the exclusive games that are available for both consoles - that's really the thing that matters more than any of the other nonsense. If Halo, Mass Effect, Bio Shock, and such interest you more than Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, and God of War do, then choose your console accordingly. Ultimately, if you can't play the games you want to play on it, then it's not much good to you.
