This is Pittbull's fault, but hey, you never know.... I play the crap out of City of Heroes, so I was kinda wondering if anyone else here did the same..."The crap out of" notwithstanding of course... By the way, i have a hair-trigger on my World of Warcraft flame cannon, so WoW will have to get it's on thread... ;D

Man, I am all about superheroes and playing games being a superhero, but if I played this game ONCE, I know I'd be hooked and then shortly after divorced.

It seems lately that I've mostly been playing City of Villains. In fact, my heroes have been inactive since Valentines day.

I have COH and played quite often but then stopped because I kept getting stuck in teams with people that just could not work as a team and would run a head get killed or get us all killed thus racking up the debt on my hero making it even harder to move forward and gain new levels and powers. So I stopped playing. Plus I have other hobbies that this one had to take a backseat cause it constantly costs money to play.

I like the idea of the massive online games, but unless you know a good bunch of people or take the lomg time to find a good group of people, it can be a major pain to balance challenge and fun.

Yeah the single player option would have been nice but this is one of those games that you HAVE to play online and in groups. Which is a major downside if you just want to do some missions on your own.

That is why I opted for Freedom Force. Stupid fun and you could download skins of just about every character imaginable.

Has the new Freedom Force came out yet? Or is it Vaporware?

i am putting CoH back on my pc....but....what about CoV?
If i have an account for CoH, will I that include CoV? Obviously, I will need to purchase the game...but, will I need to pay an extra monthly subscription to CoV too? Or will the subscription be included in the CoH subscription?
Does any of that make any sense?

The new Freedom Force came out late last year or earlier this year- with little fanfare. It was $10 bucks the last I saw.
I have not played it though.

Wow, I started this thread and I haven't looked at it in a while...I suck... Okay, MythicalMino, If you have either a CoH or CoV account, you can add the other to it...There's no additional cost, just go into your account info and click add game...The cost to play (I use time cards for example) covers both games, and you get 12 characters per server instead of just 8... To everyone else, I think it's an awesome game, I've been playing since June 2005 primarily on the Freedom Server...They've added a lot to it since it came out, although heroes still has far more content than Villains, being that the heroes are 5 major updates (issues) ahead...The game is actually quite playable solo, although some Archetypes (Scrappers, Blasters and Tanks) are easier to solo with than others (Defenders, and early controllers)... Any other questions, please ask, I made a point of learning as much as I can about the game, and I've become quite knowledgeable... EDIT: Oh yeah, the monthly fee thing can be daunting...I buy mine 4 months (two time cards 35.00CAN each) at a time, and I'm paid up until December...it's pretty much the way of MMOGs, so if monthly payments aren't your thing, (and really, for most they're not) I'm not going to convince you to play... I will tell you however that they did something really retarded that I don't approve of, but hey, I don't run the game...When you start up, you get your first month free, but you have to buy a time card or use a credit card to activate it...meaning your first month is free with the purchase of like, two months game time or something like that...A couple friends of mine skipped the fine print: "First month free. Additional online fees required." As in, when you sign up... Like i said, I didn't like that and don't approve, but once you get past it, the game is really great to play...Figured you ought to know that before you sign up...

And yes, I get that a lot...But really, I choose to pay 15.00 a month to play a game...What am I supposed to do, not play it..? That's like getting a satelite dish installed and never watching TV or getting a gym membership and never going to the gym...
For the record, I play a lot less than i used to...
