3 year gauranteed contracts Vrs $500 per appearances (10 appearence minimum).
Either TNA's guys are going to be getting better deals which TNA might not be able to afford..or TNA will be losing alot of talent.
TNA is basically screwed. WWE is gonna take most , if not all the old ECW talent they have. And they'll easily take most of the X Division, leaving TNA with senior citizens and maybe Abyss.
Later TNA.

Yeah. Hard to argue with that. ECW will probably be WWE's "wrestling brand" with the added bonus that you'll get Heyman's booking, so the storylines will be at the very least, interesting. Even if they don't get guys like The Dudleyz or Rhyno to come back, it has the possibility of being everytihng TNA could've been. Spotfests for the spot lovers. Hardcore matches for the people who are hardcore wrestling fans. Plus some storylines.
I'm sure TNA will exist in some form, but its sort of sad that Vince has to keep creating his own competition. Maybe whichever 'brand' has the best year gets the biggest Christmas bonuses. that's how Vince keeps things interesting back at headquarters.

Except under the current plan ECW will tank.
C'mon, filming a couple of matched before Raw and SD!? It's going to be more of the bastard stepchild than SD! is right now, and a year after its formed, when Heyman quits in a huff, the Internet will be talking about how WWE messed poor Paul E.'s hopes and dreams up again.
That said, sure, they'll be able to take a bunch of TNA talent...and all but a small number will be fired when the ECW project is deemed a failure...and with TNA dead, the wrestlers will dread the current climate even more, as the opportunities for work will be farther and fewer between.

I am totally shocked at Swarm echoing the demise of TNA...dude, I thought you were a fan?
The only way I see this 'killing' TNA is if ECW really takes off, and in my mind there is a decent chance of ECW taking off IF Paul gets total control...and plenty of time. It will take a while to work out the kinks and know what does and doesn't work in 2006...but he's a very good booker, and there is a lot of talent who could really thrive under his leadership.
TNA could still become what WCW was...they have a long way to go...but there is still room for a #2, especially if its good...which is something that TNA is 3 times out of 10.

To honest, if TNA is about a 3 out of 10 of being good (which I kinda agree with but watch because we need a number 2 badly!!!)....The WWE isn't far off...if best 5 out of 10 and they need to be at least 8 out of 10.

ECW is nostalgia plan and simple. Once that wears off your stuck with a horribly dated fed that's doing garbage matches with a bunch of guys who are in their 40s now. It worked as a once a year kind of thing not as an ongoing fed.

I really wish you would actually talk about things you have knowledge of. You've proven time and time again that you have zero knowledge of how the TNA contract structure works. The WWF has yet to take someone with a TNA contract and they can't. If they did then TNA guys would've been on the ECW show last year. So most of these guys you're talking about aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

TNA will exist as long as Vince is an a*s hole. He will keep screwing people over, out of the ring, and they will go to TNA just to p**s him off. ECW will just be an extension of the WWE, and it will be a bad one.
As long as TNA has someone bankrolling it, like Dixie Carter, it will continue to exist. Also, get rid of the six sided ring...

TNA has been screwed since its inception. It's like the people who scream about the end of the world...I guess if you say it everyday, you'll get it right sometime.

That's true. TNA can go for a while, but like WCW couldn't go forever while making really bad decisions, TNA has the same issue. It's too bad as it would be nice (even for Vince though he'd never admit it) to have a strong second federation going.

Luger, Rick Steiner, Buff Bagwell??? sounds to me like TNA is stocking up to make up for all the talent they are about to lose to Vince.

WWE can't steal any of TNA's workers. It's just fact. They've tried. It can't be done.
It's called a contract. TNA can let any of their guys work for whoever, but they have a legally binding agreement with TNA. The TNA workers can't leave TNA, and TNA can't fire them without some monetary compensation I would venture to guess.
Nothing is the death of nothing. ECW right now is an idea, an idea that may or may not work. An idea cannot kill. Furthermore, most of the TNA talent are loyal to TNA for giving them shots, or second chances. The Dudley's have went on record saying they'd never go back to WWE since they can make just as much from TNA, indies, and Japan, and STILL have less of a work schedule.

The Dudley's have went on record saying they'd never go back to WWE since they can make just as much from TNA, indies, and Japan, and STILL have less of a work schedule. It is inevitable that there will be a few people who are dumb enough, or loyal enough, whichever you prefer, to stick with TNA regardless of a WWE-funded relaunch of ECW. That said, only a person who is completely naive to reality would put 100 percent faith in people who "went on record" as saying they would never work for a company that they made a lot of money working for immediately after said company tells them to kick rocks. That is what happened in the case of the Dudleys. Ask them after an offer comes in the mail and see what they say. The fact is, if WWE starts offering buy-outs, TNA would be hard pressed to not accept them. For one, if, for example, Christopher Daniels wants go to WWE for financial purposes and TNA refuses a buy-out, then that will create animosity between TNA and Daniels. With TNA being the little fish that it is, the last thing it can afford to have is a locker room full of unhappy wrestlers. Secondly, TNA is not exactly making money hand over fist. If Daniels (again, just an example) wants to jump ship to WWE now, he will probably be even more anxious to leave when his contract is up. Since most of the TNA guys drawing interest are probably not ratings-breakers, it would only make sense for TNA to get something for their departure now rather than nothing for it next year. It's not inevitable that TNA will have it's door shut by a rebirth of ECW as long as it is just a a couple taped matches before each edition of RAW and Smackdown. If Vince decides to go full throttle and launch it as a second federation (or third brand) then TNA will most likely run into some potentially-crippling problems.

Don't be so short sighted. In its 'once a year' form, the ECW brand would get old fast...but your not giving Paul Heyman any credit. The guy knows how to book talent...and if he gets a head start with the ECW brand and the excitement and 'loyal fan base' that it will bring...not to mention the wrestlers who will actually want to wrestle in ECW...and you've got something.
This could be Vince's chance to turn WWE/ECW into GWF/CPC...with the odd crossover match or event...but total seperate entities otherwise. You could have a ECW Champ make the jump to WWE...or have a old vet (Benoit) try his hand in an ECW ring when there is nothing left for him to do in WWE. There are tons of ideas...and I'm sure WWE are kicking around a lot of bad ones as well, but the point is you shouldn't just asume that WWE is going to try and bring back the low budget, blood, trash can, cane and gore fest ECW was...it'll use what ECW represented, along with the man who made it work creativley...and try something new for the year 2006. Its a great chance for WWE to try something new, that isn't attached to the WWE name like RAW, Smackdown, Velocity, Heat and everything else are...
I'm giving it a decent chance of working...Heyman being the key!

Not really. No one has paid to see ECW talent in a long time. There's been at least 6 feds that have had most of the original ECW roster that failed horribly. Plus that was 4-5 years ago when ECW fans were more wanting of that. Now you have a lot of the talent who are happy where they are, retired or pushing 50.
It just won't work. They won't have the guys, they'll be shooting it in large arenas and management will raid the roster like they do with Smackdown. I have no faith in this working because the WWF can't even make their own programming work half the time.
Plus if it replaces OVW it will be dead within 3 months. OVW has it's own fanbase and they won't convert to ECW. They aren't the right type of fan to begin with and they'll be furious over losing their fed.

You know what, I can see where your coming from...and if it is shot in the arena's with RAW and Smackdown! then it won't be able to recapture the old magic. Your right about the talent being older and your also right about the fanbase being smaller and less interested...but the way I see it, if WWE is going to try anything new, then this has the best chance of working.
They own the ECW name, and showed at ONS that they know how to book an ECW event right (in the right size arena). They also already have a number of former ECW alum on the roster, and also employ Mr. ECW himself (no, I'm not talking about RVD). Paul Heyman can make this work, but Vince will have to check the ego (probably not possible) and let Paul have 100% freedom to run the fed his way. Vince can sell the PPV's, the t-shirts, the DVD's, the toys and videogames...while Paul can build an entertaining and 'different' product.
Much like TNA, this venture is in its infancy...even more so considering there is no roster, no TV spot, no nothing...but unlike something like the XFL or some other dumb money losing venture that has nothing to with wrestling, this is actually a wrestling venture.
I have little faith too, I'm just saying, of any idea that WWE could have come up with, this at least points to some sort of realization that there is a demand for something 'different' and that some X years later, ECW is still a hot button topic.

Can I tell you what, living in Louisville, maddog is right. Most of the fans here aren't what you would call "hardcore/Philly" fans. They like the old style booking, etc. As much praise as you here the smark god Heyman gets, many fans here don't care for his style, they miss the Cornette style.

Yeah, they want the old school southern Jerry Jarrett/Bill Watts style of wrestling there. Though I heard Tommy Dreamer was the real disaster as a booker.
