Seriously, somebody PM those guys and ask them what their individual beef with Swarm started over. If they are honest, they will say that it all goes back to him having a difference of opinion and actually expressing it (something that is apparently very frowned upon by Deuce mods) about a wrestling promotion.
Hell, I know Trav's started with him because Rob called Jerry Lawler a washed-up old fool and said Memphis wrestling sucked. Big deal. I grew up watching the stuff, too, and I'll be the first to tell you that on any given day, Memphis wrestling could produce some of the stupidest crap that the industry has ever seen. It could also be very good, but in the end, who really gives much a damn?
Now Joe, just make sure you get this right. First of all, I never had a beef with Swarm. I used to defend him on many occasions. I admire his passion for this game, his creativity and who went to bat against that Wrestlewar more than anyone. Swarm and myself were two of the main ones
But when himself and CPB got banned back a few months ago, I was really hoping the board would stay peaceful because that was one great month!!
CPB just came back and posted like it was nothing, but Rob immediately came back with the "TNA sucks" stuff. I simply put "don't take the bait". I didn't put anyone's name or anything, but I immediately received a profanity laced PM from Rob calling me a redneck fucker, your just jealous of me, blah blah. I was really hoping Rob would have been a stand up guy and after his ban...just left the TNA fans alone. Hell, I probably agree with about 90% of this TNA rants.
BTW Joe, just making sure we're in the same state right?
He would never respond to my PMs back, just simply replying "Nay Nay, I don't read your PMs".
The Jerry Lawler shit...that was just him egging me on. And to be honest, it backfired everytime. Rob, I'm not a part of the Jerry Lawler fan club BTW. I agreed with Joe's statement about it 100%
The profanity PMs got old and finally I just said forget it.
I'll be honest here. When the Deuce 1st opened, there was some Swarm cheap shots, but really, that died pretty quick. The chat room closing Joe? Honestly, that was BDS scared of missing a paycheck with COTGonline. Not that I blame him, because he has a wife and three kids, so he had to do what was best for him.
But after a while, you may see a little inside joke in the chat room. But that was it. I think BDS and Holli really got carried away. Truth be told, they were huge Swarm haters until cotgonline was announced. But hey, I was up for him even registering on the Deuce and on the chat room.
The only reason I had enough of Tom's games was because I saw a thread where Swarm stated he "wanted to beat me up". Now come on. Beat me up? Rob is part of the creative team and to see someone writing that about a paying customer, I thought that was a tad over the line. Plus, I feel being part of the creative team should hold you to a higher standard. Some may not feel that, but I don't see Todd, Mark, Kris, Tim, Corey, Chad making those kind of statements.
Hell, even when it was announced BDS was part of the creative team, he backed off of the Swarm bashing and he should have.
And to sabotage Tom's business...that's the farthest thing I would even want. I have nearly all of the editions (the last sets I don't). I am a huge mark for Legends. I've sent him countless names for Legends to sign and I have others as well I just didn't send him. I bug the shit out of guys on kayfabe memories to try the game or get me contacts. I got one guy to come back aboard a few weeks ago because of Legends.
Some may rip me, but I really did think Swarm was probably sincere about offering Promoter Madness. This is the God's honest truth..I was on my way home from work one night and thought, "This shit is crazy and I was going to PM him" But of all days, that next morning, I saw his "I want to beat up Memphis Fan Trav" statement. I just rolled my eyes.
Now to sickman, sorry you feel we have no life. But I make fun of myself about this to my wife and friends..I'd argue any grown guys who play a wrestling dice game doesn't have much of a life right?
So did I ever want to quit playing COTG. Fuck no!!! This is the best game I've ever played. I don't know how many countless hours I've spent playing this damn game. Probably tooooooo many. The only thing that stopped me from playing more was two kids.
Will I play again? Probably somewhere down the road. But I just need a break.
So that's my story. I'm sure I'll get ripped for it on both sides (The "Hive" and the "Deuce"). But I felt some where getting unfairly ripped.
