It's cool offspring, I sometime too get heated and post when I would be better advised to just keep my big trap shut. Sorry about what happened, that really wasn't your fault. I had a feeling that that was going to happen. You'll notice I stayed silent.:-)


Anyway, yes, this board owns. I consider it to be the official even though it technically is not. I enjoy posting on it and arguing with you fools. It's the one time during the day when I can be completely irrational and get away with it. It's too much fun.

And Chris Ingersoll is my hero.

Not to change subject but this seemed to be the right place for it. Has Splattercat defected too. I don't recall him posting recently and know he just got a promotion. While things did get heated with him and Swarm he seems to realize it is just a message board.

We've both been here since the beginning and I have to agree that from an overall standpoint this board has never been better. The quality of content in most of the forums has been on point, the game play support and coverage on impending Filsinger Games projects like Promoter Madness and COTG Online has been superb, with time the archives have become very deeply developed...even the moderating has improved dramatically. Everyone responsible should take a bow!

LWPD (also worth noting has been the emergence of some very impressive newcomers who have been making some highly productive contributions in recent weeks...it's always good to see 'new blood' helping to elevate the quality of the board)

Last night, about 9 hours before this thread began, I actually deleted my account that I had on the Deuce. I really don't want to get into why I felt I should leave that board and am only posting this because I've received both multiple PMs here and Emails on my Yahoo account with questions about it. I just felt the need to step away for awhile.

And LWPD I totally agree that "newcomers" (I think he's been around quite some time now...but he's still fairly new to me) like Dukedave are a big reason this board rocks. He brings the quality.

I have been away for a couple of days (work) and I must confess that I missed this board and the great debate/discussion that characterizes it. As a relative noobie I am not qualified to make any statements about whether it is better or worse than before, but I wholeheartedly agree that it is easily my favorite forum on the Internet.

Great job by a wonderful community.

I like this board, happy to be here. My only complaint and please don't scold me for this, I think the Deuce is easier on the eyes. I don't know what's going on and why people are hating one or the other, but either way, I post on both boards, although my feds are over there. Chris does a great job as a fair MOD, from what I can tell, and everyone is into CotG, which is the most important part for me.

I really, really hope Chris doesn't delete this post as I am not trying so slam anyone with it, but this is an expert from a really good friend of mine who posts on the deuce and of all the things that have been said about the rift I think this statement is about as good as is gets...to respect my friends privacy I will not disclose his name but this is what he said...

I remember them scrambling to get Tom to put a link to their page on the official website and being very happy when that happened. Tom's positive response to them was even pasted into a thread somewhere. So he was willing to give them recognition and support their effort. All well and good.

Now you've got at least three of the mod staff (Holland, Tommy, and Trav) who are saying they're not going to support Filsinger Games anymore because of Tom's supposed favoritism of people they don't like. It's a free country and they can think what they want, that's not what I have a problem with.

But if they were real stand-up guys, they'd write to Tom and request that he take down the link to their site, and give their reasons for it. If they're not going to support his product financially anymore, why should he continue to provide an endorsement? If I were him, I'd drop them. Newbies should be directed to a board where they're actually going to get an admin staff who supports the product that the members are talking so much about. Makes me wonder what they're still doing there.

to add to that, to give an idea of what a bad guy I am, through Splattercat (a great guy and a great member of this board) I offered to make peace with a few of the guys by offering to buy them each a copy of PROMOTER MADNESS signed by me (ok I made that last part up but it's funny...) and they out-right refused...

so I don't really have a way to wrap this post up other than to say I love this game, I love this board, and I love Tom like a father figure and nothing anyone could ever say could ever make me turn my back on it, this, or him...if others can then that is their decision and I wish them the best. I really do.

I hope those guys read this... it's an excellent point. Granted, Holland deleted the thread you're refering to, so its not like someone is going to go there and see people talking about how they refuse to support the game, but theorically one (or all) of them SHOULD have that conversation.

My hope would be Tom could make them feel better, and everyone could be happy
