I was just wondering how you can use the arguement of leaving because of the fighting when you also contributed to it. Thats all. To expect an online discussion board to resemble something of a utopia seems unrealistic. Unless of course you keep membership restricted to just your friends. STRONG.

I just think starting another message board which is virtually identical to this one is a little silly.
And when people make the claim that Swarm, myself, or anyone else for that matter could actually STOP them from buying Tom's game, then you really didn't enjoy playing it in the first place.
As much as I didn't see eye to eye with a few people on this board, there is nothing, ...........AND PAYBACK MEANS NOTHING ( ;D) that anyone could ever say to me that would make me stop playing COTG.
I love this game and no matter what, I will play it forever. I don't play the game because I like to post on this board. Which I do, this board is awesome! But, I would never quit COTG because of it.
Plus, wrestling is so subjective that anywhere it's discussed, you're going to have different opinions and people feel very strongly about them so heated discussions are bound to happen.
If you're not able to handle it, don't participate. Simple as that.

I don't think you're wrong so much as you're employing a different philosphy than those who have left (and this includes those who spend most of their time over there but remain here). As with most problems in life, there is rarely just one correct solution; you have to do what's best for you. Well put. If the admin of this board can get over the fractioning of the community, I think others should be able to as well. Plus, most of us still post and visit here as well. The fractioning isn't a problem for anyone. Its that it inevitably leads to a ton of different boards that are essentially the same thing. I've even seen some call leaving this board as some sort of a statement?! what statement is that? Nobody probably even notices or cares. This is why the community is so f'ed up.

And what I've probably done here is take a bunch of people who had no problem with me, and turn them into a DMK haters.
I just wanted to point out that in the long run, the splintering and fractioning off is not always good for the community.

Why can't something just suck? You watch TNA, you know it sucks, why do I need to waste my time explaining to you something you already know? Jerry Lawler sucks. That's my opinion. I don't owe anyone a detailed explanation as to why I think that, and and anyone who thinks I do has issues. the fact of the matter is, TNA doesn't suck any less now that some started up another board... This is a total cop out. You are absolutely correct Swarm, you don't have to explain anything. Things can simply suck. Hell, I agree with you that much of TNA's booking of late sucks. However, you have to agree that there's no reason to discuss it if you have nothing to discuss. Why would the guys that enjoy TNA, (using it as an example, since its the highest prolie thing people were bickering over) what to discuss it with you, if all you have to say is "it sucks, stop watching" Now, if instead, you said, "TNA sucks, I can't believe they're using a washed up wannabe Kane like Abyss as champ.. and on a DQ to boot! Even Sting, the guy he beat, wanted to do the job clean!" then there's some basis for discussion. The problem those guy had is, you seemed to go out of your way to interupt their discussions but not add anything to them. I've sure if you just let it go, and ignored the TNA posts after expressing your opinion, or expanded on your opinion in some way, there would have been far less hostility. Personally, I just ignore such posts, both good and bad, but clearly others are not of a mentality to do so. They're allowed, since, as I said before, this board is for personal enjoyment... if they weren't enjoying themselves, they are going to leave. Its that simple. As far as the Lawler thing with Trav, that's between you two, and probably never should have been out in public (not blaming either of you, it just happened).. that kinda stuff happens, its unfortunate, but true. Did Trav over-react? Perhaps, but Id say that's exactly what you were trying to get him to do. Clearly, people get riled up sometimes, and post what's on their mind, without giving it a whole lot of thought. Such passion is a commendable trait in a lot of areas, but, as we've seen here, can get you into trouble.

To expect an online discussion board to resemble something of a utopia seems unrealistic. Unless of course you keep membership restricted to just your friends. I'm saying its ridiculous to expect that a new board will remain free of the very things people dislike about this board. Possibly even naive. I am a member of three of these types of communities. Two are this board and the Deuce. Thus far, the problems that people left this board for have largely been avoided over there. The other is a Cubs message board with 4000 users. People disagree on that Cubs board, but they do it civilly, and they're sent on vacation if they can't do that. It's that simple and it works. And for the record, DMK, you haven't made me a DMK hater. Like I said, agree to disagree. You can have your grim reality, and I'll keep reaching for a potentially unattainable Utopia.

If you're not able to handle it, don't participate. Simple as that. Agreed.. this is exactly what those guys are doing. I'm glad we could all agree I have a few other bits I feel the need to comment on. DMK: I'm not exactly sure who you were addressing in your posts, but I'm not sure exactly why your so opposed to the other board. I concede your concern about fragmenting a small community (and, in fact, I share it) I agree that two identical boards is silly, however I disagree that the Deuce is identical to here. There are probably 10-15 prolific posters that are only posting there, while the same can be said of here. As time passes, the boards will surely diverge more and more. For example, there's a lot more discussion on bootlegs over there, while it seems there more discussion of WWE stuff here. Also, just for the record, I was in no way responsible for, or had any inkling of the Deuce being set up. During the last week or so, there have been more posts there, with no sign of any bickering or personal insults, so I've found it a nicer place to be. Could that change at any moment, sure? But that's they way it is NOW, so that's where the majority of my new posts will go. That doesn't mean I have any problem personally with anyone here, nor does it mean I won't still read and respond to posts here as the mood strkes me. I agree with you guys to a large extent that deleting your account, and announcing doing so, is a bit dramatic. But hey, we're looking to breed creativity here, right, that's all part of it

Why would the guys that enjoy TNA, (using it as an example, since its the highest profile thing people were bickering over) want to discuss it with you, if all you have to say is "it sucks, stop watching" I understand what you are saying but here it is: What constitutes as "discussion" is subjective. To me, saying "TNA sucks balls and Joe is nothing more than a glorified Indy scrub with big boobs..." is discussing. Do I care if people respond to me or not. No, I don't. I think the people that left here came here for "acceptance" of some kind in their life...a place where they can enjoy their little wrestling obsession and not be challenged because of it... well, this ain't no nursery. If you want to go about life where everyone likes you, everyone agrees with you, and no one challenges your opinions, then you may as well pucker up to your Mom's tit and never leave... Starting another board to get away from people who don't share the same opinions you do really isn't much different than starting your own cult or a religion then hiding from anyone who doesn't feel the same as you do... and we all know how well that has worked out for those kind of people. But as said before, you do what you gotta do. Just my opinion.

Before anyone goes on the "Why does his opinion matter?" or "that's weak that saying something like that would drive people away", just think on that for a minute...

Thats basically what I'm getting from that whole comment. Obsessed much?

I think the people that left here came here for "acceptance" of some kind in their life...a place where they can enjoy their little wrestling obsession and not be challenged because of it... well, this ain't no nursery. If you want to go about life where everyone likes you, everyone agrees with you, and no one challenges your opinions, then you may as well pucker up to your Mom's tit and never leave... I think I agree with your point here, people LIKE to be agreed with, more than they like being told they're wrong. Some people's personalities are such that they NEED to be agreed with. I also think making your point in such a harsh way is why people turn on you. I'd think, since, by your posts, you're a saleman, you'd know how to NOT piss such people off. It may be you can, and choose not to on a message board. Again, I respect that, but again, don't be surprise if some people don't, cause its not a real popular way to conduct ones self. For me, as long as you don't stoop to personal insults, its all good. I think this is close to the board policy as well, since you've often been banned when crossing into the personal insult realm. I'm not saying you should change, clearly, this is you, and I respect that you don't hold back. If you're gonna do that, though, you have to know that you're gonna piss people off, and, in this case, it was enough for some of those people to leave. I think we can agree that you don't have a personality that's compatible with the guys that started the Deuce, and perhaps we should leave it at there. Starting another board to get away from people who don't share the same opinions you do really isn't much different than starting your own cult or a religion then hiding from anyone who doesn't feel the same as you do... and we all know how well that has worked out for those kind of people. But as said before, you do what you gotta do. Just my opinion. I defintately disagree with you that everyone agrees on the Deuce, we just disagree in a nice way, so far. I think your cult anology would only be valid if there were a signifigant chunk of people being banned. To my knowledge, its just you, and there were reasons that I am not aware of why this is so.

Holland said that Swarm was banned. Nothing about anyone else, because nobody else is banned over there. That's not what Splat's trying to say, anyway. He's trying to point out that maybe Swarm's last post was a prime example of why people left in the first place. Edit: The attitude of it in general, not the poster in specific.
