I thought it would be cool to have an Early Classics thread to go with Hawk's Middle Roader's thread, and boy did I have a match to kick it off, but first, a bit of background...
I'm in August of 2079.. the first year or so, all cards were on Deimos.. then Omega got a deal done to have a card on Cetus in mid 2075.. not to be outdone, Morpheus arranged a card on Aldabaran a month later. After sporadic dates at a few select sites, starting late in 2076 the GWF was able to establish an semi-official tour (mainly consisting of the wrestler's home planets) and increased the shedule.. there is an event on Deimos at the beginning of each month, followed by an event somewhere else sometime in the middle of the month. 2077 also saw the first PPV event, the Man of Iron Tournament (2 of 3 falls version of KotR)
KO Keller was the first champ, and held the belt jus over a year (still the longest reign) While the team of Torin Caelum and Ricken Prince were the 1st tag champs
My current big feuds are the Gamemasters Vs Hechilles/Caiman (Cosmos put both guys on the shelf at one point); Mangus/Prince vs Sam/Omega (Sam has been struggling, and attempted to take it out on Mangus, which didn't work that well) and Paladin Power vs. Defiance.
After much ado, my big shocker was a new GWF champ: Ricken Prince!!! He planted Morpheus with a Royal Decree, then made him bow not once, but twice without the referee noticing and got the win (needless to say, the referee is now seeking other employment)
After match attackes had been esclating (4 injuries over 3 cards) so Omega announced that there would be a special card on Pleaides (the 1st since 2075) that would feature all POW rules matches. He hopes that such an outlet will focus the wrestlers back on what's important.. the wrestling... with the Prince as Champ, its a hard sell.
So, anyone else have the Prince win the title? I couldn't believe it myself.
Interestingly, almost all the guys who have held the title (Morpheus, Omega, Screw, Caelum, Keller and now Ricken Prince) have also held the tag titles... Only Santon has had the singles title only
Anyway, hopefully we'll get as good a thread going as those middle-roaders!

I'm in June of 2075. Morpheus just had an amazing title defense against Screw that unfortunately ended in a DQ so they have a highly anticipated rematch coming up. K.O. Keller and Commander Sam have been surprisingly strong tag team champions.

I'm kinda in the opposite camp...the only wrestler thus far to have held both belts is Bullwhip for me.
Prince hasn't won the big belt, but then, he only recently found the top ten...=P

Keller and Commander Sam have been surprisingly strong tag team champions. I used Sam and Keller as a team early on too.. they were two time champs. I thought it would be interesting to establish a pattern of KO teaming up with the young up and coming guys... He tagged with Silvar (with almost no success) for a bit as well.

When I played Early Classics, Commander Sam once won the tag team championship with Omega as a partner.
I'll have to check my records, but I believe that Commander Sam and Omega were actually two of the only wrestlers during my Early Classics Period to win both the Galactic Championship and the Galactic Tag Team Championship.

My major feuds are Dorado Sundown vs. Omega and Morpheus, and Blood vs. Moonstrke.
Although Blacklash is champion, Moonstrike had an impressive winning streak in the tournament. In the semi-finals he faced Blood. He was on his way to winning the match when Blood, out of nowhere, grabbed a chair and decked Moonstrike. I ran with it saying that Moonstrike suffered a concussion which caused him to lose. Everyone now hates Blood. Moonstrike is back from an injury of 4 cards and has challenged Blood to the first TItan Death Match in my fed.
No major happenings in the tag team scene, But Fight Club (K.O. Keller and Torin Caelum) are the champs

First of all, great idea Wildfire! It’s about time we had our own thread!!!
MONOLITH “THIS” (***gives the caught-up players the “Screw U” salute!!!***)
I’m playing in 2078 right now, but have only written results up to 2076, so I’ll write as if that’s where I’m playing at, as I don’t want to give spoilers away to anyone that I e-mail my results to.
EC is awesome. I use an old school booking style with a few sprinkles of new school, just to keep things interesting. I try to model my fed after the 1970’s-early 1980’s era of pro wrestling.
I started out holding my cards on the smallest arena in the galaxy, the Outer Rim Outpost on Eldsib. We were there for six months, but then the $$$ got better so now we’re slowly making our way into bigger arenas. I don’t treat Deimos as a “homebase” for the GWF. It hasn’t even been mentioned in my fed yet, and we probably won’t hold a card there for awhile.
K.O. Keller was also my first champ, and Dorado Sundown were my first tag champs. Blacklash, Screw, & Moonstrike have held both titles. In fact, Screw & Commander Sam made an excellent team, and held the belts for 7 months!
I had my first P.O.W. Rules Match about halfway through 2074. Paladin Power pitched the idea to the Commissioner and he went for it.
Prince hasn’t done much for me. He’s basically a mid-carder that’s used to get others over. But whoever beats him for the strap in your fed Wildfire, will be super over!
Defiance & the Paladins don’t fully trust each other, and get into a tiff every now and then.
Looking forward to chatting EC with you guys!

I'm hoping for a bit of a title run for the Prince... DQ fnishers are always good for that... Especially since he's recently allied with Mangus (suitable for run-ins)
A rematch with Morpheus at My Pleaides card is likely the main event.
I know its wierd, but Dorado Sundown was a HUGE dissappointment in my fed. Blacklash did OK as a singles guy (made it to #2 I think) but Bullwhip was horrible (like 2-9 or so) and they departed pretty early...the got beat so bad by the Guardians, I ended up having them feud with Defiance in the feud that led to their exit.
When I was running this era before EC came out, they were dominant, and I had to have Omega and Morpheus cheat to get rid of them , so it was a big switch.
Interesting that its just me with guys having both belts... are y'all mostly using the tag teams with names (i.e Paladin Power, Defiance, Cross Currents) or are the more 'makehift' teams just not that successful?

I try to use the "official" teams as much as I can, but I'll throw a makeshift team together from time to time for a match or two.
I really miss the days of tag team wrestling from the 80's.

I am currently in 2076 and just had the mid year PPV. I have been using the teams that are listed in the book as i am trying to stay closer to the storyline than stray from it. But as far as wrestlers holding both belts, in my fed (listed in the Fed Forum...GMANS Early Classics Fed) Morpheus won the GWF Heavyweight tournament and he won the Tag Team Title Tourny with Omega as the Guardians. I have'nt used a makeshift tag team in this fed yet, but i have a funny feeling it may happen soon with the way some of my matches have come out ;D

Screw just beat Morpheus in a rematch for the Galaxian Title. I have to say both of their matches have been amazing. Something about their cards seems to lead to them going back and forth a lot.

Time for an update to get this back on page one...
I just ra Retribution, an all POW rules card (and only the 2nd "event" card)...
Morpheus took the title back from the Prince (which was a bit sad),meanwhile, Omega beat KO Keller in a great match,.. next card will see Sam/Omega Vs. Prince/Mangus, with the pinfall victor getting a title shot.
The Gamemasters and Hechilles/Caiman had a great match, with Hechilles and Caiman getting some payback with a victory.
Paladin Power and Defiance once again tore each other apart, and Solar Flare got but on the shelf with cracked ribs.
Meanwhile, the Estorians defended the tag tiles against the Mensans, and have been on a roll (Tantalis is also 4-0 in singles)

Wow, good update Wildfire.
I try to stay with storylines, but the dice just won't let me. Omega and Morpheus barely have a .500 record, while Dorado Sundown is unbeaten as a tag team and Blacklash has not lost in singles competition and is still my champ. Bullwhip has only lost 1 match by DQ. No matter what angle I play out. Morpheus and Omega come out on the losing side. But maybe things will change at my first PPV.
Moonstrike and Blood seem to be developing a feud, while Torpor does not stand a chance against anybody in my fed. Both Crosscurrents even hold a win over him several times.
Keller and Torin still hold the tag titles and now are defending them against the Mensans who have really got under the fans nerves lately.
That's it for now.

I can imagine Keller and Caelum must be just short of unbeatable as a team..
I always find it kinda fun when the dice don't co-operate, as a crative challenge (as long as it doesn't get too bad)
Omega struggled for me early on too, he didn't actually get a title shot until, maybe, early 2076. He'll come around.

Does anyone else wish there'd be more CLASSICS to fill in the years?

Does anyone else wish there'd be more CLASSICS to fill in the years? AHHHHHHHH! No, no, no! Then I'd have to start all over AGAIN! The Early Classics set and a smattering of bootlegs is working just fine for me. Most of my bootlegs have been TCW or TWF guys who have primarily feuded with one another. I also have SPW's Ace Deadly on the Roster, largely because I want to use his kids (Devil's Night Out) when I reach...oh...2102 or so. Interestingly, I've found that the bootlegs don't tend to stay around very long, as their feuds tend to get violent and lead to injuries, and eventually loser-leaves-town matches (I don't run temporary exile matches--if you lose, you're gone). Kanazawa seems to have the best long-term chance of sticking around, largely because I've mainstreamed him into a successful tag team with the rookie Lord Nexus (Alpha Flight, the current GWF Tag Team Champions, about to feud with Commander Krakan and Pogrom, the Truth Commission). Anyway, that's my answer: use the Early Classics set and supplement it with homemade wrestlers to flesh out the roster when it gets a little thin.

I never have used bootlegs with mine...all I've done is use the jobber cards with made up names to fill things out...but even then, only once or twice. I just don't seem to have trouble booking the roster even when it's just 19 guys.

I also never used bootlegs when I played out the Early Classics Period. I was able to use everybody on all my shows which, if I remember correctly, were each between 6-8 matches long.

I never use bootlegs. Ever.
I don't mind when new Classics wrestlers are introduced. I just run a new card or twelve with them and rewrite history. I hear DC does that all the time.
