Why is it only the TNA forum*? What is it about that forum that makes it such a gods-damned powderkeg that Swarm can set off -- by accident many times, although sometimes it does appear to be more intentional? if you're saying that Swarm can wander into the TNA boards and say some offhanded remark to set them off yelling and screaming, does that mean I can do the same with the WWE boards..? Like, didn't you just say he's a troublemaker by starting fights in the TNA boards..? Just a question, I'm not going to start flaming the WWE boards...

One reason I don't go to the TNA boards too much is because there is so much fighting going on there.

I don't know if this is even possible, but is there some kind of function that will allow users to ingnore other users? Some message boards have this funcitonality, but this one does not. Believe me, I would be recommending it left and right if it did. No, I'm saying that the fans in the TNA board, for whatever reason, react much more strongly to offhanded remarks (and, yes, occasionally on-handed remarks) than those elsewhere on the board. You could try that in the WWE boards (in theory; I'd recommend against it), but you'd actually be inviting a lot of trouble and ridicule on yourself before the majority just tune you out. That's my problem, here. For whatever reason, some of the TNA guys take Swarm, Joe, Gatekeeper, and others way too seriously and/or personally, which simply fails to happen anywhere else. I've browsed through threads where perfectly legitamite issues with the TNA product were raised by one side, and then dismissed by the other side in a manner that was so blind ("markish", "shill-like") that it practically begged to be ridiculed. The "NWA Title" discussion that cropped up in the middle of an IMPACT discussion was a perfect example of people on both sides doing this, creating a self-perpetuating cycle that just got worse and worse. Here's a news flash: that's not a problem I can fix. That's a problem that has to fixed on the "user end", if you follow me. Hawk's proposed rules, while well-meaning, would have been impossible to enforce, as the definition of a "personal attack" is very often highly subjective: what one person intends as a playful jab can easily be taken as an outright slap in the face -- and not even necessarily by the person on the direct end of it!

You can fix it...Drop the TNA boards then if they're such a problem...
Just, you know, off the top of my head solution...

On the other hand, I find it interesting that in all of these posts, people keep throwing out the same names...
Again, just an observation...

You can fix it...Drop the TNA boards then if they're such a problem... Just, you know, off the top of my head solution... Eh, I'd rather not. There will be TNA discussion on this forum whether it has a designated area or not. Even if we cut the real-world wrestling section completely, the discussions would still take place, since this is at its core a wrestling fanbase. Plus, it's not the TNA board that's the problem: the board just sits there and lets people know where to post about TNA. It's certain people within that sub-community that cause the problems, whether intentionally or not.

I further direct your attention to the "TNA is breaking my heart" thread...It doesn't take long for those you mentioned to start the burning of not only TNA, but also those who post about it...
Once again, this is an observation...I wasn't a part of that discussion, nor do I take sides...Read it and tell me what you think...

I find it interesting that Splattercat and his 38 posts has such a strong interest in who's discussing what in the "real-world wrestling" section of the forum.
The reason the same names keep popping up is because we take part in the discussion about the goings-on in pro wrestling. For some reason, certain people on this board who watch TNA seem to view the company is the same vein as one of their offspring and take any criticism of the product way too personal. I don't take it personal that my name comes out of everybody's mouth on this board when they are talking about alleged troublemakers, so I don't know why they get so upset over somebody saying signing Scott Steiner is a move in the wrong direction.

Personally, I could care less about Steiner, TNA vs. Raw or any of that. What bothers me is that this board has a few people who have decided to turn this into their personal kingdom, where disagreement is crushed and members driven out.
Why do we come to this board? Well, because we all enjoy the same game and having people we can talk to about it. Let's have fun, not engage in petty "Internet Fights"

Three things...
One, I'm going to once again refer you to the aforementioned thread...You'll notice that it is Joe who fired the very first "jab" at Dennis H for "Enthusiastically" making his opinion known by capitalizing the fact that it was "HIS OPINION"/"HIS OWN VIEW"
Two, Tommy Brownell had this to say in said thread:
"Swarm is a WWE fan and not a TNA fan, but once more, he is also not a blind WWE mark or "McMahonite". (see anything regarding UT and HBK, two of WWE's top guys, for starters)."
Read through Swarm's posts again in that thread and then tell me that again...Every post he bashed TNA in the TNA forums...How is that even productive..?
Three, I knew it was only a matter of minutes before someone came up and said "Splattercat's number of posts mean he doesn't have a clue, what does he know..?" {edited for content} This discussion caught my interest...that's all there is to it..
Read through MY posts again...how is anything I've said in this topic subjective..? I'm bringing up observations as (as you say) an outsider...Who better to be objective in a given situation than someone who isn't taking sides..?
I may be new to this message board, but I'm by no means new to message boards...Re: Magic the Gathering...EVERYONE'S first post there is met with showers of "n00b"... If my number of posts makes me uninformed, please remember, I'm not posting beyond my knowledge...The issues raised in this thread alone have been addressed by myself with facts out of this thread and a 6 page thread that I chose at random to see what everyone was talking about...Did I choose a wrong thread at random..? Is there something else I should know..?

I think its an issue of people being too sensitive lately on the board. TNA vs WWE is a legit comparing point, just because you say bad things about TNA doesn't make you a WWE mark, the same people who rip TNA on these boards rip the WWE at times when they pull something weak. Its almost like sometimes people look for fights by claiming a subpar TNA Impact show is The greatest wrestling event since Wrestlemania 3.
I argue with my friends constantly about sports, players, teams, girls, movies, music, beer you name it, but at the end of the day their still my friends. If they agreed with everything I said, and liked everything I liked, they'd bring nothing to the table that was different and offered a different point of view. It'd get really boring, really quick.

Read through Swarm's posts again in that thread and then tell me that again...Every post he bashed TNA in the TNA forums...How is that even productive..? I have no issues with your post except for this...since you are taking what you want from my post and ignoring the rest. Swarm and I have butted heads several times in the past, when he was still a guest here and the boards were in their infancy, not to be confused with the posters acting like infants. We have since cleared the air between us and become friends. We also have RADICALLY different tastes in wrestling, brought on in part because I was raised on Mid-South/UWF and then on to WCW, while he's been a longtime WWF/E fan. I think he judges TNA too harshly, but I think there's a dozen guys who do the same to the WWE. However, Swarm also picks apart parts of WWE...namely, HBK and Undertaker, who are both major parts of the WWE product, that Swarm does not like...a lot. He has started whole threads about how much he dislikes HBK's attitude and how stupid UT's special effects shows are. He is clearly a WWE fan, but he is clearly not a BLIND WWE fan. Hell, he's not even a blind TNA hater, because he does offer fleeting praise to the TNA product, such as Styles and Daniels and how he thinks they have been misused. I don't understand why he or anybody else feels the need to repeat the same negative (or positive, really) comments about WWE or TNA, over and over again...and I'm not defending that...but I am defending Swarm the man, not just as a friend, but as a moderator. I told everyone to back off the group attacks, and I haven't seen one from him since. Now....let's all go settle this TNA vs WWE thing in those handy polls I slapped up yesterday... *cough*

Oh and Tommy, I don't know your history with Swarm, nor should it be relevent...But it doesn't say anything to disprove my statement...I don't know Swarm either...But like I said, I read through that entire thread and all I saw at each of his posts were TNA burns...That was in the TNA boards, which is precisely what I thought we were discussing here...he didn't add anything to that discussion, only TNA burning...No reason why, no opinion to speak of....Simply TNA hate...If you like, I can read through all the recent TNA boards and get a true opinion of what Swarm and Joe et al are like...But that wouldn't be a true opinion would it..? All I have to say at this point, is that I don't know anyone on here, but based on the last like, week, I do in fact walk on eggshells here...I make sure there is no room for misinterpretation in what I say...I failed once but when I read my post right after, I added a couple key specifics... Re: anyone who you say causes problems: Friend or not, if someone starts a fight, he has to be dealt with...Even if he's a moderator...Hell, if Chris starts a fight it's up to you to <slaps back of his hand> check him...

splattercat, you're trying to stir up trouble beyond what any other member has. How many of your 44 posts have been a negative response to a member of this forum? 40 or so?

You used a quote of mine, about Swarm not being a blind WWE mark to prove your point about him being a TNA hater. My point is, he is not a blind WWE mark and that has nothing to do with him being a TNA hater. I can also pull quotes from the TNA forum in which Swarm has said that Styles and Daniels should be the main guys in the company right now, but have been misused. But even if he IS a blind TNA hater, that has no bearing on my quote that you pulled, because Swarm does also relentlessly bash the WWE stuff he doesn't like as well. Hell, some of my best friends online think everything WWE OR TNA do is total and utter crap and won't look at any of it anymore...proof that hating one doesn't make you a mark for the other, or that loving one doesn't make you a hater of the other. And as soon as Dave's back, SD! rules all again, anyway.

One more thing, and this goes to everyone...
Post count means jack all, guys. I am living proof that having a high post count doesn't mean you have anything relevant to say.
I mean, really...have you READ my posts?
If I wasn't the one writing them, I'd turn off the computer and walk away when they show up.

I think he was just pointing out, Tommy, thats its supicious that someone who's only been a part of these forums for a WEEK is so involved in bashing Swarm and the others. You're right that post count doesn't mean anything, but I see his point.

I think he was just pointing out, Tommy, thats its supicious that someone who's only been a part of these forums for a WEEK is so involved in bashing Swarm and the others. You're right that post count doesn't mean anything, but I see his point. Thank you. This was exactly what I was talking about. Post count means nothing, but if a guy has 45 posts and has spent the majority of them complaining about things I, or anyone, have said in my posts, I think it raises a question or two. As for my posts in the "breaking my heart" thread that Splattercat pulled up, I suppose that I did start the "bashing" by asking Dennis why he has "MY VIEW" in all his posts. That wasn't bashing anyone. I thought it was funny (not stupid, either, I mean "ha ha" funny) that he does that. I thought the way I ended my sentence with an exclamation point made it evident that I was being playful. Since Splattercat read the whole thread, I'm sure that he noticed that I pointed out things that I liked and disliked about TNA's product and never attacked anyone. If someone says "so-and-so vs. so-and-so" is a dream match, and I respond by saying it might have been seven years ago, that's not an attack. It's a disagreement. I am in complete agreement, however, that some members of this forum have gotten far too sensitive about something as inconsequential wrestling. Why do so many think disagreeing is bashing or attacking? I'm real cool with Swarm, but if I acted like some of the people here, that would have never happened. He'll tell you, I think Shawn Michaels walks on water (Bad analogy considering the current storyline, I suppose), and Swarm hates him with a passion. Why is that he and I can get along despite such an obvious difference in opinion, but others on here have a disagreement about a wrestlng promotion and the shit hits the fan? There is one other thing I would like to point out to any person who is an ardent supporter of TNA and feels I am a TNA hater and should not express any negative feelings about the promotion. Like I said in one of my posts that I am sure Splattercat read and memorized: I bought a great majority of TNA's weekly PPVs from 2002 until early 2004. That means I helped keep them in business when times were lean. I have also purchased a few of their monthlies. I am definitely entitled to speak my opinion about the company. Hell, I might be more entitled than many of you who get so up in arms about the opinions I express.
