The whole outdated system thing makes me laugh....
Heres something: I will never buy next gen game consoles when they first hit the market. Remember all the problems X Box and PS2 had when they first came out? There are all kinds of problems and bugs a system will have when the system initially drops.
This is how i see wrestle wars. In time it might be a great game.
How can you dog a set up that has steadily gained popularity over the years? If it aint broke...
competition is a good thing, but have respect.

I've tried to stay out of this discussion for too long obviosly....I finally went on the website and checked it out...first of all, the game totally looks kinda tacky and it's so obvious that the game was rip from Tom's hands in some aspects...the "fan" of the game (bandit) is the same person as Dan (the creator)...the writing style is identical including comments about the game. 'Whoever you are can you email me?" Oh please...what are we a bunch of four year olds? I love COTG and it's not just a game that you roll dice but open a world of imagination and become part of a collation of freindships...Wrestle Wars or should I say Wrestle Crap (my apologies to the wrestlecrap website) isn't getting my hard earned cash...

Funny, my launch-day GameCube has never had any internal problems, now five years (pretty much to the day) later. Say what you will about Sony and Microsoft's hardware, but you can't lump Nintendo's into that same statement.

Correct me if im wrong, and im wrong pretty often, but Xbox and Ps2 came out before game cube, right? Nintendo has the habit of letting systems expose there flaws. I have NEVER had a problem with my gamecube, or for that matter any nintendo product. The fact that my gameboy and original nes still work is testament to this.

XBox came out a whopping three days before the gamecube.
I do get your point, though. First run gaming systems are often faulty (Nintendo does several more quality and shipping tests than Sega, Sony, Microsoft or Atari ever did, and they usually put together one helluva durable machine, so they really CAN'T be lumped in here), and initial customers get to suffer through bugs, compatibilty issues and problems.
That said, I'll be playing my XBOX 360 Monday night!!!

I was trying to make an analogy, not dig on any one particular gaming system. I know, but the one you made was somewhat flawed for the reason I pointed out. Other than that, I thought it was a good one.

This is as far I could go reading that. I stopped here, and c+p'd it because this paragraph right here tells me why thier game won't work and will suck to play for anyone who doesn't have a grey immagination. __________________________________________ 1) It allows you to literally pick out moves from four charts that are on the inside of the card. The four charts are technical, aerial, power, and brawling. You actually pick the move and in the cases of power and technical moves, you must compare the two opposing wrestler's ratings to see how difficult the move will be. This adds a sense of reality and depth that I haven't seen in other rpgs. __________________________________________ How many wrestlers can you name who are technical, aerial, power, AND brawling? Brock Kurt Angle Benoit to a certian extent... pretty much a hand-ful of some of the best wrestlers in the history of wrestling... But ALL of them? Are they telling me ALL 24 of thier characters are PERFECTLY balanced in fighting styles? what fun is that? If I wanted that, I would just play your guys Bootlegs

I could see arguments for some other wrestlers, who were definitely better in one area but adept in all...but yeah, it doesn't work...
*envisions Abdullah's aerial chart*

I would assume that each character has his own, customized chart -- that's presumably why they're printed on the cards themselves. Some guys will probably have "good" charts, and others will suck. It seems to just be a replacement for the A/B/C rankings and more-or-less-standardized charts that CotG has.

Some people here are making negative "ASSumptions" about WW on here without playing it. I have it and love it. The best of it's kind to me. WW will put COTG out of business. All wrestlers must incorporate power, technical, brawling and aerial moves to one degree or another. I read Tommy's remarks on the rpg.net site and it sounds like he has "to much time on his hands". People on there were also making fun of him. I saw where they ran him off the board as well. But my point is don't criticize what you don't understand, that is FOOLISH. I have played Champions. The game has generic charts with generic outcomes that would bore even the most mundane individual. So where is the creativity? Mr. Ingersoll is correct in that the customized charts for each wrestler vary greatly.

? Did I miss something?
I didn't comment about WW at all on rpg.net, and I sure have never been ran off of their boards.

I really like how these guys show up here and try to plead their case. Do they think that by sending the same two people over here they will change our minds? That we will suddenly have an epiphany and say "Well, crap, I HAVE been wrong all this time!"??
Sure, CotG may lose a few fans to that game, but I think we have made it pretty damn obvious most of us are clearly not interested.
I also like how the same guy pops up in different areas and sites with different user names claiming to have "found a new, exciting. realistic" wrestling game.that will beat the pants off CotG. Love the fact that they have to face the comparison of the established and suerior product, even on other forums.
It is true that CotG may one day stop producing new game editions.
But it will NEVER, EVER E-E-E-E-E- VER be because of some hack rip off like WW.

I've tried to see both sides of this debate and not play favorites, but: WW will put COTG out of business. DUMBEST POST EVERWhile that may not be entirely accurate (we've had much dumber posts around here...), it's easily one of the most naive.

Does anyone have a link to this interview on RPG.net?
Some dumbass was on their forum yesterday referring to it and saying that people were making fun of Tom and the book he wrote. When I put him in his place the thread got deleted. Let's just say that didn't leave me any too pleased.

Just curious, because you seem to visit their site a lot if you haven't.
