I bet that Wrestle Wars will not be around in 20 years.

Dunno, their site doesn't seem to really explain it at all and I am not impressed with the artwork. There is alot of boasting and saying their game is good but there is nothing that gives me an idea what this is about or how it plays. I don't want to run down someone's creativity but the production value doesn't look that strong.
I think the worst thing they could have done was to come out of the gate and have cannons blazing and blasting Tom's game, they have really hurt themselves with that decision. Tom has created something that is a labour of love and a celebration of his love of wrestling both COTG and of Legends and the real wrestlers that represent that game and it shows from the mechanics to the gorgeous artwork.
Not only that but Tom would not have had 20 yrs of success and complete loyalty from the fans if his game didn't deliver. I am all for new things but as far as wrestling games go- Tom is the King of the Mountain on that one and no one can topple his product. It is just class A work from top to bottom.
Their Malicious "coal raking" of Tom as a wrestling game competitor does nothing to entice a customer base and especially those of us loyal to the Filsinger product.

I completly agree with you candianpittbull. For instance, I have seen your artwork of legends wrestlers and it is FAR superior in quality to the stuff that I've seen over at the Wrestle Wars site. I think "Ernie's" provocative post is possibly a sign of desperation. Im simply not impressed with either Wrestle Wars's tactics or product.

You are all right. I am a paid corporate shill sent here to try and restore interest in the Wrestle Wars product. The back page add in PWI was in fact the cheapest space they had, as we could not afford an interior add. We know no one reads the back cover, that's why whenever I see PWI I turn it around so people have to look at our add. Even in the mall I'm a troll. I also lied about Sesame Street, which I have watched religiously since I was 2 until this very day. GWFfanTrav, you are right about everything. I won't be back in a year because Wrestle Wars will be out of business by then, I lied about the expansion and we can only run our PWI add for another month. I did go ahead and buy the COTG starting package, and wow was I wrong. This game is great, and the smaller cards make it much easier to store and don't take up much space on a playing surface. COTG is far superior to Wrestle Wars, I just want people to buy Wrestle Wars too so I can get paid.

I like how these guys come on here and call us "classless" etc...
and then you go to thier site and here are some of the posts still up there... __________________________________________
We don't want haters around. Please respect other people on this site and be a good ambassador for the Wrestling Wars Fandom!-Mod
I will also submit for the record that many more than a few thousand people joined the Nazi party, and, sir, I feel that despite their numbers, they were in the wrong. Just to prove a point that popular opinion does not always dictate right and wrong.-Mod
west- YOU are a worm-ridden troll! i hate people who throw around legal s#!t.
YO WEST, YOU SUCK A CAMELS DONG!
swarm, let me say that you are a dumb prick. these guys have a game that is in no way a rip off of the c**g bulls#!t. if it was, i'd send it back to them in a f@!$ing heartbeat. i tire of mindless s**t-sucking degenerates like you.
YO SWARMIE, YOU SUCK A CANINE'S D**K B**CH!
YOU WANT IN THE SAME ROOM B!%@h? NAME THE PLACE! NAME THE TIME BEE F*#k! __________________________________________
these are responses to long, in-depth posts by me and others simply looking for answers. Why just pencil? Why slam COTG and Tom? Why does your game card look like a total rip-off of the GWF game card?
People want to act like I, and others are just going over there and going FUCK YOU AND SUCK THIS AND FUCK YO MOMMA SUCK MY DICK YA MOTHER FUCKERS SUCK IT SUCK IT.
No. I had questions just like everyone else. I got banned (under a different name) for asking why thier pencil art was not inked (although, obviously, I have been able to get around the ban-not hard).
These are legitimate questions.
And instead of answering them, then ban us.

During my time in the game industry, I've learned a decent amount about marketing. Needless to say, it's considered very amateurish to resort to insulting another company or its products in an effort to boost your own company or products. Simply put, it makes you come off as a wanna-be whose only "strength" is your ability to compare yourself favorably to a rival. That manner of nonsense should be left to politicians.
You don't see Tom slinging insulting remarks about Wrestle Wars. The reason for this is two-fold:
1) Tom is a classy guy. 2) Tom is a professional who knows how to market his product without stooping to such lows.
I'm on the WWE: Know Your Role design team, which is technically in competition with CotG and LoW. Does that mean that Tom and I are going to dole out insults and barbs? Absolutely not. In fact, I credit Tom as being one of my biggest influences as a game designer. Likewise, he has a lot of respect for me as well.
My point here is that the folks who created Wrestle Wars shouldn't feel obligated to run down the competition just because they have a similar product. Let the product stand by its own merits.

THANK YOU Cynthia... very well said. And the reverse is true about COTG people retaliating with insults and childishness. They're actually putting WW on par with COTG by getting so worked up about it. What's bugged me this whole time about this is the fact that I assume Tom is an intelligent and mature enough guy that he would not approve of this type of retaliation, regardless of what they did. The best thing that a COTG fan can do either ignore them or communicate with them in some way without resorting to these tactics.
When I first read the WW site I had it in my mind that the creator was some immature teenage kid, because let's face it... the way that they marketed the game by constantly comparing it to COTG was not the smartest move they could have made. I later talked to him and found out through 1 on 1 conversation that he's a really friendly and well spoken guy. Don't give people the wrong impression of Tom by flaming, insulting, and making fun of them.

i dont know.i went on their site and simply asked how they could vote cotg "worst game ever" ( seeing that it had been around for 20 plus years, and had hundreds of fans) , and they attacked me and cotg.if i was aggressive towards them , then i could understand the come back that i got.but i wasnt aggressive at all. so after that i asked to be banned from the site...which i was. i really think we should delete all references to their game on this forum. i dont think they are "nice " people. i will not speak of them again...unless....

Were you KISS?
I totally agree with you, I think it's retarded that they put COTG in that poll. That's like putting Monopoly in a poll of worst board games ever. It makes no sense. I think if you really want to make a good statement for COTG, the best thing you can do is be as respectful as possible on that forum and follow up any COTG negativity with something positive about COTG. That's what I do and I have not been banned or treated rudely whatsoever there.

i don't know.....i like to play my wrestling games solo.....so, in other words....I don't want too many decisions to make. When you have tons of decisions to make (what types of moves, how, where, when....ect), it takes the "spectator as a fan" out of it.
CotG gives just enough decisions to have the player involved, but still not determine the absolute outcome....
The other game i play (WF) is the same way.....
What I keep reading about this one is: YOU make all the decisions as to what happens during the match.....and that just isn't what i am look for in a wrestling game.

Ha ha ha, that guy was called on it!
"CotG is an outdated system", then compares it to the n64!
Just because the system is more complex does not make it a better engine.
How many of us have played video games where there was so much to remember and do that it ruined the concept and flux of the game?
They were called "amateurish" by parties that were not us.
What a clown factory that game is.
