Hey all. This is just really a message to whoever it was from this board who was posting as "ant-man" over on the Wrestling Wars board. I got notice from the board administrator that you were banned for flaming me pretty heavily. He didn't go into a great deal of detail about what you said, but the parts he did tell me were pretty nasty. I really don't care too much since you were posting under an anonymous handle anyway... but if you'd care to resolve what ever problem you have with me, you can send me a PM here on this board.
I'd just like to say that I have taken an interest in the Wrestling Wars game. I don't think I'm a "turncoat" for having done so any more than I think I'm a turncoat for buying bootleg COTG sets. I think there's plenty of room for both COTG and Wrestling Wars out there. I'm disappointed to see people from BOTH sides who feel like they need to run down and belittle the competition. I have made it perfectly clear on the Wrestling Wars board that I'm not a fan of the anti-COTG sentiments ... and I'm not a fan of the anti-Wrestling Wars sentiments.
I have gotten MANY hours of enjoyment out of COTG over the past 3 years, and I have great respect for Tom. I seriously doubt he'd think it was appropriate for people to go over there flaming. It just fires the anti-COTG sentiments and makes the COTG community look like a bunch of nose-picking 9 year olds. So to whoever is responsible for this I'd like to ask you to stop please, just as I've asked those responsible on Wrestling Wars to stop.

Hey man, people are gonna have their opinions so if you go to a game that's very similar to Tom's creation, you should expect some backlash - whether you feel it's justified or not. It's gonna happen.

I don't really get why people say that it's so similar... or "ripoff" as I've heard some say. Aren't all wrestling card games sort of similar? You have cards, dice, charts, and a rule boook? It's like saying that the TNA video game is a ripoff of the Smackdown video games because it has season and CAW modes. There are some basic elements that basically have to be present. So I don't think that this is a good reason for any sort of backlash.
Where I could see reason for backlash against Wrestling Wars is in the way that they advertise with the "Tired of crappy wrestling games?" slogans and the obvious little jabs that they take at COTG. It reminds me of how WWE took jabs at WCW when they were losing the ratings wars. I have communicated that I don't approve of those remarks and that I think it would be much more beneficial to their business to pay proper respects to COTG and its fans rather than isolating them as rivals.

If you enjoy the game man, don't let what anyone says bring you down. I'd be interested in the game if I had any cash.

This is America. Home of of choice and freedom. If you enjoy Wrestle Wars, that is your right. Personally, the overall attitude of the game site and lack of description of wrestle wars game editions concern me. Also, the price seems a little too steep for me. The whole wrestle wars website sounds like a scam. I am not ordering wrestle wars.

One thing that truly irritates me is when people refer to something new and/or contrary to something established as a "scam". People should be careful when they use these words as the word "liable" comes to mind. I have seen the site and talked to one of the owners, they have been nothing but courteous and respectful. The difference between COTG and WW is the difference between apples and oranges. I personally prefer their game and I know people on here will go ballistic, but it's the truth. I think both sides should show more respect to the other, but it doesn't look like that will happen. Later.

People should be careful when they use these words as the word "liable" comes to mind. Sorry to nitpick, but I think you meant "libel" not "liable". If you're going to reference legal terms you'll probably want to use the correct terminology. HTH

Upon further thought I would like to add the following about the WW's game. I talked to a moderator, entropicengine and he tells me that there will definitely be a second edition. I see that some people on here are posting that this is a one time deal when they actually don't know anything about these guys or their product! Other comments have been that their site dosen't tell you anything about the product, if you check their updated FAQs you will find a detailed and impressive description about How To Play the Game. They are also offering a new game package that is more affordable (it's the one I'm getting!) called the Main Event Game Package for $20 plus s & h. From what entropicengine told me the cards are folded and the full size of them is 8 1/2" by 11" unfolded. If I understand correctly, from what I've been told and seen Champions cards are only about 1/4 that size, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but WW's cards would have to cost more, just think about it! Some people bitch about pencil sketch art, I'm a big comics collector and this is the hot thing on the market right now. Just check out Diamond's price guide if you don't believe me. Furthermore, there are some people in the Champions community that repulse me. Their comments persuade me that I would not want to be connected to them in any way, they are: Mike McKinney, Swarm (especially), GWFfantrav, MadDog1981, and Mark T, who seems to have a superiority complex of some sort. I also looked at Mark's artwork on his site and was NOT impressed with it. I don't think he should be masquerading as an art critic ;D of any sort. Also, the cards look very different to me. The WW's guys have fold-out cards with charts on the inside of them where you can pick moves! I have never seen anything like this, and I've played a ridiculous amount of rpg/card games, etc. Maybe this post has enlightened some of you. Have a nice day!

Ok "Ernie" you've made me drop any conservatism in me and made me bring out satan.
First of all, none of us knew about their site until they came trolling on here, ragging on Tom. I'm more conservative than anyone, but I would never go to a aclu/liberal site and start bashing them calling them "murderer, abortionist lovers" or anything like that even though I don't believe in one thing they do.
Same as college sports. I'm a big Kentucky fan and HATE louisville. But, I wouldn't go to their message boards and troll them.
As for Mark, you want to rag on him. He's not out their hawking his drawings at an overpriced rate. They are FREE. If you're going to hawk your stuff at price, be prepared. And if you think Mark's stuff is bad, you're just being an a-hole.
And from what you've been told or seen about COTG, apparently you haven't played it, so who are you to say anyways. Thats why you are a guest and don't have the balls to register. And I'm glad Mr. Hooper taught you to see their cards are made "different" (Sesame Street likes to preach "difference anyways...")
And I'm sure they already have specials because no one is buying the piece of crap.
So in closing, go back to butt-f&$(&^ your buddy Bert.

Thank you GWF fan trav! You have just proven exactly what I was saying. And if you'll notice some of the posts on this thread it looks like COTG fans are looking into buy Wrestling Wars. And as far as registering goes, see my previous post about "association". I don't know about who posted when, where, or why but it is obvious that with a back page ad on PWI that Wrestling Wars is a serious venture. By the way, has Champions ever been on the back cover? Hmmmm.... just a thought.

So it looks like your waiting for repsonses trolling the board "Ernie". I guess Bert is in the trash with Oscar or is finding out why they call Big Bird...."BIG BIRD"
BTW...who cares about a back page ad?!!?!? WTF!? Who reads a back page, unless ur looking at Hustler trying to get off on a phone number. Real dumb argument there.
I'll tell you what Bert blower, don't post for another year. If pencil boys are still around, then come back and start trouble.

I am not trying to start trouble. I'm simply stating my viewpoint, which is what forums are for. As for Ses. St. I don't watch children's shows (I didn't even watch it when I was a child). So your analogies of S.S. are kind of non-sensical to me. I have made my point and I am moving on. And for the record, I love pencil art! Cartoony/Over-exaggerated features are not my thing. Maybe ink-art is a COTG, dunno. Have a nice day.

Bottom line.
It's very unfortunate that fans of Wrestling Wars feel the need to come over here and sell their product by saying how much better it is than COTG. You obviously don't understand COTG fans at all. There are many that are so loyal to Tom's game that they're not even going to allow themselves to give Wrestling Wars a chance after you've insulted COTG. While I don't agree with the way that they went about it, I completely understand why people like Swarm went over and started hell on the Wrestling Wars forum. They saw it as standing up for Tom Filsinger, who was under attack by this new wrestling game and it's fans.
Having said that, I think it's unfortunate that there were some COTG fans that went over to Wrestling Wars and acted like small children, raving and cussing as if that were actually going to accomplish something. What kind of retaliation is this? There are some Wrestling Wars people who are misguided enough to think that people might run over and buy their game if they come over here and tell us how much better it is. And... there are some COTG people who are misguided enough to think that striking back with hissy fits of their own is going to make Tom proud.
I've got great respect for Tom Filsinger. I've also talked to the owner of Wrestling Wars. He's a very nice guy. I gave him my opinions on their methods and I think he was receptive. But I've got to say, the more this keeps up the less likely I am going to be to check out a Wrestling Wars set. Apologies were made by Wrestling Wars... so why are you over here stirring the kettle again Ernie? If you want to talk to Swarm and some of the other Wrestling Wars haters, just make a post on your own forum... they'll read it.

They may read it on their post except me, because I looked at the game once and won't post on their site, per my explanation on a previous post
Also, Troll Ernie, you claim you don't know about "kid's programs", but you knew what I was talking about. Or your daddy was too busy laying it to ya when you were a youngster.

It is clear to me that "Ernie's" post was clearly antagonistic. I was not at all impressed when I checked out the Wrestle Wars site and I think Filsinger games has the superior products in both Champions of the Galaxy and Legends of Wrestling. I also think we have a better class of members on our forum. Personally, I have found posts and contributions by members such as GWFfanTrav (whose interference charts for LOW I appreciate and use almost daily), Swarm, and others to be both informative and helpful to me as a hardcore player of both COTG and LOW. I have no interest in checking out another wrestling game because if there were somehow more hours in the day then I would just play more COTG and LOW-sometimes I only sleep a few hopurs per night because I can't stop rolling the dice and putting the cards away is something I just hate to do.

Like I told "Ernie" soug, come back in a year to start trolling. I see they are already offering "discounts" (trying to get anyone to buy it).
Tom has 20 solid years of loyalty and dependability behind him. Let's see them match a year.
