Alright, I don't watch much wrestling anymore, and I've not watched TNA in like six months or so. Having said that, I've heard they've picked up Booker T, that Scott Hall's back, and somewhere along the way they snagged Jimmy Rave. This has me intrigued.
So, for those of you who actually watch it, is it worth an hour of time each week and some space on my DVR?

Yes, flaws and all, it's worth the 2 hrs* (less with wonderful DVR)....since they've gone to 2 hrs, it still has been nowhere NEAR ideal, but it's enjoyable. 6 months ago, when you stopped watching, I didn't like it much anymore....it's MUCH better now.
If you like actual wrestling, there's probably pound for pound better quality matches on a given Impact over a given Raw, sometimes even Smackdown.
I'd have to say I enjoy Impact more than Raw since it went 2 hrs.

I watch it when it airs on Spike and I usually surf the net or fold laundry at the same time. That way, if the show sucks, I feel as if my time wasn't completely wasted. I do the same thing with RAW, but only when Jeff Hardy is on.
Last night's show as excellent. That Angle-Kaz match was awesome, as was the Booker T contract signing. I'm a little peeved that they're starting him out feuding with Christian because we saw that match a few years ago in WWE, but he's gotta start somewhere I guess.

I agree, last night's was quite good. Booker really is a great addition. And hell, I can even get into this Angle & Co vs. Hall & Nash & Joe thing. And did they tease at a Homegrown Talent vs. Big Names feud when the whole X-Division bailed out Nash? It'd be a cool angle if done right. Kaz - Angle was excellent. Best match of the wrestling week.

The booking of the main event scene is asinine, and there are gaping holes in the storyline logic that are worse than what you would see in most wrestling companies (Why would Abyss open up a box that is obviously a trap? Why did no one mention the attack on Traci Brooks as if it never happened? etc).
They still...even after all this time..do a bad job of "protecting" guys...people and teams get pushed up and down the card seemingly at random.
But I can't honeslty say TNA is "bad." It has consistently better ring action than any of the WWE's brands. The fans at the tapings want TNA to succeed so badly that they can often carry segments, especially the promos. They have some of the best promo guys in the business: Scott Steiner, Nash, the heel Dudleys (last night's promo was tremendous), Angle, Christian....etc.
If you can ignore the wonky booking - which can be a chore a lot of the time - and you can sort of appreciate clusterf*ck storylines, then Impact is definitely worth a watch on a regular basis. Otherwise, read a recap and then just record the replay if it sounds interesting.

Why would Abyss open up a box that is obviously a trap? Not to derail from the rest of your very well said points (I pretty much agree with you on every one), but come on man. . . It's not like they've booked Abyss as a mensa member up until now. They could probably book an opponent to distract him with a shiny object and it would work.

True. That's not actually a good thing.
And I would buy that except for the fact that TNA had the announcers act as if they were suprised by the contents of the box as well. It insults the viewer's inteligence. If Tenay & West had played it up as though "Abyss was too angry to think straight" or something then it would make sense. And it's really just a little thing and wouldn't be worth mentioning but it happens A LOT.

The TNA announcing team oversells or acts dumb on everything to the point where they are never convincing when something actually IS a surprise or momentous. They clearly never read "The Boy Who Cried Wolf". I think TNA has been around long enough that they can stop acting like hyperactive nutters and treat the fans a little more intelligently.

No.
None of the matches mean anything because there's no logic in the booking.
Guys start shows as faces then become heels in the same show, and the announce team is horrible.
Most of the people who post GWF feds on this board book feuds and main events better than TNA writers.
I've tried to watch the show, but I am ALWAYS disappointed in what I see.
I don't see how their "in ring" stuff is better. Just because guys do flippity-floppity moves doesn't make them better.

I don't see how their "in ring" stuff is better. Just because guys do flippity-floppity moves doesn't make them better. It's not all flippity-flop moves. Kaz v. Angle this week and Kaz v. Christian the week before were better matches than I think Raw is even capable of at this point. While they have corny gimmicks, guys like Lethal and the Motor City Machineguns are excellent workers. And heck, not that I care about women's wrestling, but that Kong and Gail Kim are better than anybody in WWE except maybe Mickie James. I don't disagree with most of your points. I think those of us who regularly watch TNA agree that the writing has been inconsistent and weak. But their overall talent pool is probably stronger than WWE right now, and there's always the hope they'll figure out the writing. As it is, the matches are generally decent, and I like a core of the guys getting air time now.

I enjoy watching TNA and will continue too watch.Although the writing and booking are off at times. As a wrestling fan I'm just happy having another mainstream wrestling federation on tv. TNA has its share of crapolla....but I'll just grin and bare it!

That's not a bad thing. That's a good thing. Right back at-cha Havoc I don't know why, but I can NOT stop laughing at this picture of Christian. Seriously, I come back to this thread every couple of hours just so I can laugh at it again. ;D I DO remember that happening, but I can't remember why Christian was doing that - was it actually in response to DDP? Someone please enlighten me on that. To answer your question, BDS... Personally, I like TNA. Sure, it's not perfect, but it was really refreshing (2 years ago, at Genesis actually, when I started watching) for someone who was just severely burned out on the E (thank you for whomever actually coined that phrase). Honestly, I think sometime around the "Invasion" of WCW mid-carders I said, "Wrestling is like a revolving door... it'll get better." Five years later, I was saying the same thing. Some of the storylines are silly, and I get really tired of whatever stupid gimmick "monster of the week" they always seemed to have lined up next for Abyss; Mike and Don are worse announcers than Cole and JBL, but I like a lot of the new faces and fresh talent. It's just nice to see new guys who don't continuously get buried by people who just won't retire. Plus, a lot of the wrestling is very good compared to what the E does these days. Also, the Impact Zone fans often make the shows a lot of fun -- it's much better than seeing a dead crowd when you're watching ECW these days. But, to me, the audience can make a show better / more fun than it truly is, and can also make a great show seem boring when it really shouldn't. All in all, I like WWE and TNA for completely different reasons, and both have their good, their bad, and their incredibly terrible. But, it takes me longer to watch Impact on my DVR than it does to watch RAW, SmackDown and ECW combined...

Someone please enlighten me on that. Christian was losing all the time and having temper tantrums like a baby in the ring. On his back, flailing his arms and legs. DDP's gimmic was as a motivational speaker. He took Christian under his wing to train him on the power of positive thinking. The picture there was when he tried to get Chrisitian to smile.
