I'm a Christian, and I am a wrestling fan. So this thread about Sting has captured my imagination and attention. I actually like the initial direction of Sting as the champion. I am a fan of people finding something in their lives to give them direction, support and purpose. For some, it is religion, or family, or community. You wonder why so many pro athletes are proud of thanking Jesus, or Mom and Dad, or telling with pride where they come from? It's because it is their attempts to give thanks and praise to what keeps them strong, grounded and well rounded. Sting using his faith to make him a better man and champion? I'm for that! I'd be for that if he was praising his wife and children, if he was praising Buddah, or if he was thanking his hometown. That's fine with me. The problem I could see from this would be using a faith as just another prop. Granted, this adds to a storyline, and thus can already be considered a prop by some. But if the only reason that Sting is doing and saying these things is for a title run, I'll be disappointed. Faith is something you live 24/7/365, and with Sting, I know that to be true. I watched "Moment of Truth", and while it was one of the worst directed films I ever saw, I know in his voice and his actions that he walks the path everyday. If he is only going to express that in the ring for the sake of his current title run, I'll be disappointed. Not in Sting, but in TNA. And I won't blast TNA for it, as religion has never been something that wrestling has given good lip service to. I just like seeing a faith portrayed in a positive light, and I hope that this will be something we can see with Sting. God bless him! Now, having read the rest of the thread... Guys and gals, we have to step back a little bit. There is ALWAYS going to be someone out there who will attack your points. They may attack your last post point by point, or they may dismiss you as not knowing what you are talking about, or they make a crude comment at you. That is the nature of a chat room or online forum. If we didn't have opinions, we wouldn't type anything. I only ask as nicely as possible to not make things personal. When I first started posting, Swarm and I used to go back and forth, and I took it personal. But when I took the time to read into his posts, and spent time talking with him at Galacticon, I got a better understanding of where he was coming from. Now, I have a tremendous amount of respect for the guy and even though we don't always agree on points, that's fine. Because Swarm and Mr. Jimmyface and Canadian Pittbull and P-Hate will never have the same opinion on something, but at the end of the day, I am fine with that and look forward to seeing where the posts go from there. If a post makes you want to immediately slam someone in type, take a few and chill out. If a post is one you think is out of line, let the moderator know and express your feelings to them. This board is a great forum for us to have fun with - keep that in mind, and you will have a lot of fun with this place! SOLID! copyright 2006 Swarm You know we all will have our own opinions and thats that, it will be interesting to see what comes from this Sting / GOD angle!

I think that after Mr. Jimmyface's post, we can officially shut this thread down now. Wondeful post, man, on both of the topics strung through this thing.

I think that after Mr. Jimmyface's post, we can officially shut this thread down now. Wondeful post, man, on both of the topics strung through this thing. with all due respect requesting that these threads be locked down is stupid. Why? why lock it down? I don't get it...what happens when Jesus Sting comes out next week and and we want to talk about it? people need to leave the policing of this place up to Chris, Jim and Paul and just chill the hell out. if Chris wants to lock a thread, he will do it and he isn't going to do it because he was asked to by any of us... Jesus Sting is a hot topic...I just don't see the point... strong.

Yes, people just need to chill the hell out. That would be wonderful advice for damn near everyone in this section of these forums. For us to be able to have an actual discussion about the apparent religious turn that Sting's character is taking without it having to break down into petty bickering, kind of like we were able to do in this part of the boards with regularity about two weeks ago, would be a wonderful, wonderful thing. My post was meant as a tongue-in-cheek way to congratulate Mr. Jimmyface on what I think is the best post that has been or will be made to this thread. No more, no less. His post was well written, well thought out, it didn't push anyone's buttons, and now (in the tongue-in-cheek line of thought the post was intended to be read in) nobody's got anything left to add to either subject we've been on. If you want to make a big deal out of the common problem of not always being able to tell intent and tone from the written word, something you've complained about since you've been back, go right ahead. If you'd rather take your own advice and "chill the hell out," that's cool, too. Whatever works for you, man. Edit: "It was well written," was changed to "His post was well written," as to not have any ambiguity. I'm patting Jimmyface on the back, not myself.

no need to get in "attack mode" bds. Your post didn't come off as tounge and cheek at all. I'm pretty sure you are just back-tracking now that I said something.
like I said, let's let Chris do his job and stay out of his way.
thanks.

My post was meant in jest, despite what you might think. If anything, my judgment for the placement of a tongue-in-cheek remark was bad with all the tension and drama that's been running through this thread. If you want to assume intent and make a harmless comment into something it's not, I can't stop you, but it is what it is. like I said, let's let Chris do his job and stay out of his way. thanks. strong. Also good advice for everyone to take. I'm sure if Chris or any of the other mods have a problem with something I've said, then someone with a yellow name will let me know.

I could not agree more, this is an absolute truth and I think for myself personally the mockery that Vince has made of all things sacred (including but not limited to: marriage and it's sanctity, the value of human beings in general and especially--the last straw for me personally--Christianity and it's ability to show people a hope) has truly been the reason I don't really care for the E anymore... Good post, Jerod. thanx, just my 2 cents

I've read nothing but arguments in these threads lately. Must be that time of the year...
Jesus Sting huh? Well, I think it would be interesting. Let's face it...the black and white Sting/Crow look was outdated 6-7 years ago. It just doesn't appeal. I'm interesting in seeing where Jesus Sting goes ....I'm sure he'll be a heel ....his career might end that way as well. Interesting.

well i fell a sleep reading this thing.let Sting praise GOD if he wants.heck im proud of the mans values!TNA is now the only wrestling i watch these days because the big "E" just totally turn me from wrestling again.TNA is the best thing going.clear black and white lines.good guys and bad guys no strippers, gay tag teams,no Vince! STING is showing my kids that you dont have to run with the pack and give up your morals.Heck thats why Kurt has joined TNA. think about it.he was going to start his juorny with ecw they played with GOD he left to wwe.later down the line he finds himself in an new ecw and they where playing with GOD and the man had the guts to say no thank you!notice how ecw no longer doing that GOD gimmick.basicly they just do it to alienate christian wrestlers.vince tried it with Shawn but Shawn was convicted to stay .But maybe GOD sent Kurt to TNA to help STING get over and help save alot of wrestlers from doing that 80's let drink and do drugs and have kids we dont know about thing.I SAY LET STING PRAISE JESUS AND GET OF HIS BACK. so um i did not mean to sound tong and cheak but thats the way i feel about.GO COLTS GO STING,SHAWN,AJ,KURT AND GOOOOOOOOO JESUS.
LETS GO JESUS(CLAP-CLAP-CLAPCLAPCLAP.)
