I like what they are doing so far and if done right this could take Sting down a whole new path and chapter in his career before he hangs up the boots. The fact that the Title is actually playing a role and not just a prop is great. The NWA title holds more weight than the WWE title does at this point. At one time the WWE/F title did hold weight and was something to be proud of. Now it is just a Sports Entertainment prop that means nothing except waist jewelry. But I am sure there will be backs getting bent out of shape over this comment..... Do you know why people argue with you when you say stuff like this? Because its stupid. Wrestling. Still a work. Any "significance" or "prestige" attached to a company's belt is in direction relation to the public image of said company. Now, if you want to argue that NWA's title is being booked better, I suppose you might have an argument. Although the fact that Jarrett won the title just a few months ago in a comically absurd manner kind of blows that to hell. But there's just no logical way to argue that it "means" more to the rest of the world to be the NWA champio than it is to be the WWE champion. Unless you're talking about the type of basement-dwelling freak whjo hasn';t figured out that "casuals" make up the majority of the fanbase.

At least the way I read it, I think that Pitbull meant that the TNA championship means more in the confines of the fed it belongs to than the WWE title does. I don't think you'd find anyone who'd argue that it means more to the world at large, because I can't see a way that anyone could possibly make that argument. But in the confines of their respective promotion, I can see someone making the argument that the TNA belt means a whole lot more than any belt that the E has right now.

Maybe. But he's tried to make similar arguments before.
And even "in the confines" is a stretch.
Because the WWE has done everything humanly possible to protect the title during the John Cena era, and Cena has been booked as THE biggest star in the WWE for the majority of his run, and guys liie Edge and Trips and Orton and other have been "obsessed" with the belt. Recently, its taken a back seat to the DX nonsense, which is the worst thing they've done since cena went to Raw.
NWA's belt during the same time period? not defended for months at a time, treated as a totally secondary storyline while Christian was champion, only treated as an integral part of the storyline while JJ had it, shotgunned back and forth between challenger and champion on two occasions (JJ/Rhyno & JJ/Raven), used as a prop in the comical Cornette-Hebner-Zbysko storyline and its also been "stolen." Twice.
Two weeks of half-decent booking around the belt doesn't make up for 18 months worth of garbage. Let's get a grip, people.

Triple H has historically been booked as obsessed with the belt, and that was largely the World title. His obsession seemed a tad less prominent when it was the WWE belt he was competing for, instead of the World title.
Orton, even, has never really been portrayed as obsessed with the belt...Edge, on the other hand, has been the best example of a well-booked heel champion in a looooooong time.

And even "in the confines" is a stretch. It's a stretch, yeah, but I think it would be arguable if someone chose to do so, unlike trying to argue the TNA belt over the WWE belt in the grand scheme of the world. I'd actually argue against the TNA belt being more important within the company since while Christian held it the company revolved around JJ and Sting, and now that Sting has it the company revolves around Angle and Joe, but that's just my opinion. I don't think the idea that the TNA belt has been better booked within its company is ridiculous to the point of dismissal, though.

Definitely. I agree, you could argue it. And I'm not dismissing it entirely. i just assumed that CPB was saying something ridiculously pro-TNA, mainly because that's sort of par for the course on these boards for some reason.

A lot of us want TNA to succeed, but I don't think anyone is so delusional to say such a completely and ridiculously pro-TNA thing. If anyone would like to stand up and actually suggest that the TNA belt is more important than the WWE belt to the world at large, I'll be first in line to smack them myself.

As PH said neither belt really means anything, except in the context of how it is treated in the fed that it represents. IMO Jeff Jarrett should never touch a "World" title because every minute he wears it or drapes it over his shoulder devalues it. It's not that I hate Jeff Jarrett so much, but that I have not ever been able to see him as anything more than a midcarder. There are so many guys that never won a World title...Scott Hall, Hennig, Owen Hart...all of which were better than Jarrett, and Jarrett is less than half of what Ric Flair was when he was NWA World champion.
WWE belt doesn't mean much either IMO. Guys like Cena, Batista, Edge are quit a backstep from Hogan, Savage, and Bret Hart. There hasn't really been a credible champion since the Rock.

That is just crazy talk...I agree 100% that the belt does not mean nearly what it used to mean, but let's be serious here...

To each his own...

Nice to see BDS "got it" by my post. I will make sure to explain every little thing to those who need to be held by the hand next time. It is nothing new that certain individuals cannot even have a decent conversation without the TNA sucks garbage entering into the conversation. I think we got bored of that how many thousands of posts ago. So don't worry I will ensure I am more thorough next time in the hand holding.

You really come off like you own TNA or something...like we only post to upset you. It's not you, it's TNA. so you can be bored with the TNA sucks posts in one hand, and crap in the other and tell me which one fills up first... don't take it so personally, it's not you. It's TNA. They suck.

I'm looking at all of this and LMAO... any and all Television or non-television entertainment / sports / hobbies you name it is just that entertainment and we will either agree or disagree hate one another / like one another or whatever in the end does it really matter. The WWE is not my cup of tea and TNA is and it's that simple, do I need to explain my reason's to anyone...
NO!
Neither does anyone else, Swarm and I have had many talks in the past and present and we know where we stand and we're cool with one another. I do look at everyone's opinions and hey I'm cool, I may or may not agree and thats the way it is.
Anyway... The belts are what they are and the wrestling biz overall has not been the classics that we've seen in the 80's or even in earlier years when those belts really ment something, and those days are long gone.

This is strong. FTi and I have been friends for YEARS. Years! and he hates the WWE and I hate TNA. but we remain friends and when we have seen each other we have a great time...notice how he doesn't take my comments "personal"... there are a handful of people here who could learn a lot from FTi...he's a class act and doesn't flip out everytime I think something about TNA sucks. it's just wrestling. that's it.

To each his own... You know what? i have had more evenhanded debates on here with you and your brother about TNA than anybody else on these boards because I strictly argue points and don't stoop to personal attacks. But this is ridiculous. I obviously misunderstood your brother's intent and when BDS cleared it up I agreed that there was a valid argument and moved on. Why would you bother to get into this? Did i say CPB was being ridiculously pro-TNA ? Hasn't he made ridiculously pro-TNA statements in the past? Did you read what he posted? isnt it possible that he wasn't being 100% clear? You're a troll. You and CPB are just as bad as you make Swarm out to be except that you defend yourselves by saying that he baits you. This was a simple point-by-point discussion that BDS and I hashed out that you decided to throw your two cents in which were no more than a personal attack. I don't "take sides." i have had just as many discussions about what I didn't like about WWE as about TNA (or don't you remember me being one of the people who talked about Umaga with Swarm) and I have never made any personal reference to either of you except to point out when CPB completely changed his stance on TNA. For you to come after me makes you look like a total jerk.

I think we got bored of that how many thousands of posts ago. So don't worry I will ensure I am more thorough next time in the hand holding. You know what..this is exactly the kind of condescending BS attitude that I would expect from you. This is your post in question: I like what they are doing so far and if done right this could take Sting down a whole new path and chapter in his career before he hangs up the boots. The fact that the Title is actually playing a role and not just a prop is great. The NWA title holds more weight than the WWE title does at this point. At one time the WWE/F title did hold weight and was something to be proud of. Are you telling me there's no room for misinterpretation there? Are you telling me you haven't said stuff in the past along the lines of "NWA's title is more important than the WWE's"? And once BDS offered an alternate explanation didn't I say you had a debatable point even though I (and BDS, actually) didn't necessarily agree with you? So then why do you think its appropriate to try to imply that i somehow need you to "hold my hand" to explain these better? Ohhhh....I guess anyone who doesn't immediately agree with the great Canadian is some kind of idiot. That must be it. You an be a condescending , holier-than-thou a-hole sometimes, CPB, and the fact that you would attack me personally after I said you had a point just illustrates how the problems on the TNA board are not all coming from Swarm, as you so want everyone to believe.

No..."Hatred, get off my brother's back you piece of s***..."
That's a personal attack...
"i just assumed that CPB was saying something ridiculously pro-TNA, mainly because that's sort of par for the course on these boards for some reason."
So what if he did actually say something "ridiculously pro-TNA"..? I imagine your response would look something like: "Do you know why people argue with you when you say stuff like this? Because its stupid."
what would happen if someone said something ridiculously anti-TNA..? Would you respond the same way because it's "par for the course"..?
But you know what, I said "I'm guessing PH is more tolerant of people constantly slamming a product than constantly supporting it..." Maybe I guessed wrong...
Oh yeah and I'm totally a troll...I should probably shake this horrible habit of going off on someone when I misunderstand what they say...
