I guess "K-fed" just wasn't as big of fake celebrity as he thought he was. Dude, you just posted five times to tell us all how cool you are that you didn't know who Kevin Federline. We ge it. You're too good for pop culture references. PH, I do love when a poster does his best to try to show he is not white trash while on a pro-wrestling post board. You don't have to be white trash, and 99% of us aren't, to love wrestling but somewhere deep down there is a dormant white trash gene that would know who K-Fed is. How do they say K-Fed in Russian? K-Fedski. Also, he claims to watch Simpsons and South Park. These are the two cartoons most likely to rip on Federline.

Hey, just pointing out that you don't have to live in a bubble to not know who Kevin Federline is.
If I cared that people would think I was "white trash" because of wrestling; do you think I'd watch, or let people know I watch?
I don't ignore all pop culture; just the obnoxious stuff like reality TV, and pseudo-celebrities.
IS it a requirement to be illiterate to watch wrestling? to live in a trailer park? to have ten kids each one one year older than the next? to appear on "Cops"? to vote for David Duke? to know who Federline is? to have a pet rotwiller?
is it necessary to know who Federline is to lead a full life? is it retarded to not know who federline is?
I watch pro wrestling because I like it; I didn't know who Federline was, because I didn't care, and still don't. If you think I pointed that out to not look like "white trash"; well that's your problem. If you think I should know who people like Federline are, that is also your problem. If you answered yes to any of the nine questions, see a psychologist. If you have a problem with this, Tough.

IS it a requirement to be illiterate to watch wrestling? Yes to live in a trailer park? Yes to have ten kids each one one year older than the next? Yes to appear on "Cops"? Yes to vote for David Duke? Yes to know who Federline is? Yes to have a pet rotwiller? Yes
Where have you been? I think you have some work to do before you watch wrestling again.

I never said anything about "white trash." My point was this it's pretty backwards for someone to mock one aspect of "low brow" popular culture while being an avid fan of another.
The reason why it makes so much sense for the WWE to use Federline is because the EXACT SAME people who would get the joke that Kevin Federline is this despicable, laughable, wannabe are the EXACT SAME people who are the WWE's target audience. (notice how there was really no introduction necessary. its because 99.9% of that live audience got the joke the second he came out)
I'm sorry you don't see the irony. Don't take it all personal.

It's true, stupidly enough...I accidentally visited another message board where people were saying they were going to watch Raw just to see Federline get beat up...Of course, these same people also had an argument over whether the FU was a Body Slam or a Suplex so I'm not going to praise them for their insight either...
It's still just sad that WWE, the biggest wrestling company in the history of the universe, has to resort to putting this stupid waste on their A show...Lame...

PH, it was me who made a white trash reference and it was very tame. The basic point is that those who watch pro wrestling are generally looked at as white trash by the non-wrestling fans. And if you watch wrestling that you have a little white trash gene deep down inside although you are not necessarily in most instances white trash. Incognito doth protest too much. If he doesn't know who Federline is, fine, I'm happy for him. I just don't really care that he's going to learn Russian, cure cancer, solve world hunger, and knows who Barack Obama and David Duke are. Oh, by the way, my sign on name is because my name is Dave and a Duke basketball fan, Incognito, and I've had it for years. You're not the first person to be smart enough to make that reference, Einstein.

oh, by the way Barack Obama, Senator from the state of bad driving... Illinois, and presidential hopeful. (This is all done tongue in cheek) Just because our former governor sold license to drivers doesn't make us all bad drivers. I drive for a living and it's hard to get a CDL if you don't have cash to buy one. The only "bad" driver I know in the state is my wife.

Just because YOU took offense to something they said and went on a tirade -- it sounds like maybe you should see a psychologist. Jeesh.

As opposed to bringing in UFC Fighters, baseball catchers, and race car drivers. ..lame... UFC Fighters are lame..? Poor Shamrock and Severn...I guess I was amiss in saying a long time ago that Mark Coleman and Don Frye would hvae both been awesome for WWE (Especially Coleman)...And didn't Vince want to sign Bob Sapp at one point...You're probably right, bad idea... As for the "Dave Duke" name misinterpretation, raise your hand if you think my name has anything to do with a GWF character... (P.S: it doesn't)

Christ. No, the point is that once again you are criticizing the WWE for doing something that TNA would do in a heartbeat if they could attract that "caliber" of celebrity. Any promoter for any company..if you went to them and said "hey this guys wants to be on our TV show and if we use him, every single celebrity news show in the country will spend at least 5 minutes talking about us" ..who doesn't do that? Do you honestly think that if Kederline went to TNA first they would've turned him down? You can criticize the celebrity if you want, but blasting the WWE for the tactic when precious TNA does EXACTLY THE SAME THING, is a little dumb. They don't use athletes in their storylines to make it more legit, they use them because bigger names haven't said yes..

I didn't criticize WWE bringing in Celebrities to hype their show...Hell, I've actually enjoyed 90% of them...The Wrestlemania Celebrities are terrific ('cept maybe Pete Rose), having certain people on to promote WWE stars' movies is great, like the cast of Rollerball (especially Rebecca Romijn, she was awesome)...Kevin Federline is a parasite, plain and simple...A frelling parasite...I won't watch anything that has him in it...I wouldn't have watched Lord of the freakin' Rings if he had anything to do with it...
He has NOTHING to do with wrestling, at ALL...He will never have anything to offer or contribute to wrestling, and he probably couldn't even tell you who was WWF Champion in 1986...
Now, the race car drivers (Sparky Plugg notwithstanding) and baseball players I can see being pointless to bring on a Werstling show (and they were)...But UFC Fighters..? Come on, tell me Tito Ortiz appearing on any Wrestling show wouldn't be a big deal...
Now then, I didn't criticize WWE for bringing a[/b] celebrity on the show...I criticized them for bringing Kevin Federline on the show...Honestly, who wouldn't..? Imagine the heat TNA would have gotten for it...Far worse, believe you me....
EDIT: The misconception in question: "Stupid Waste" (noun); i.e. Kevin Federline I was calling Kevin Federline a Stupid Waste...Try it sometime, you may find with enough feeling behind it it has more force than calling someone a [censored] A*****e...

This is the first time since RAWs first appearance that I have missed ( quit watching) two in a row. It sucks and I am done with it, I will watch UFC on mondays when it is on ( I TIVO UFC on mondays due to repeats) UFC is 100% better product than WWE, much more intriguing.

Splattercat, you're wrong. You are 100% wrong.
It doesn't matter if he can tell you who the champion was or what he "contributes" to wrestling. ( although I and other have pointed out how he makes sense within the storyline)
The reason you bring in a celebrity or have a celebrity sitting in your front row or support your talent when they appear on TV shows etc is because of the publicity. Period. You can throw any judgment out the window. As long as you're not brining in someone truly despicable, even a no-talent pseudo-celebrity.
This is another one of those differences between "real world" promoting and promoting on a message board where you can afford to be a purist snob.

You can bring Federline in for publicity, and that's all fine and dandy. But you can do it without putting him in a program with your champion, without putting him on four segments of the show, and without doing it two weeks in a row.

Is Kevin Federline really a bigger star than Tito Ortiz these days? Is that even really a question? If you look at the fact that Ortiz is really only a name in UFC and UFC is really only a niche sport that is only slightly more popular than pro wrestling on a national level, and Federline is on the cover of a tabloid on a weekly basis AND is a regular on those crappy entertainment TV shows...c'mon people. Let's try to think outside our own personal preferences. We're better than that. I know the guy is no-talent scumbag loser, but he's still famous.

It makes sense story-wise, people liked seeing Federline get slammed (as a matter of fact, if Federline had been on the broadcast and NOT get beat up, it would've gotten negative feedback), it took maximum advantage of the publicity, and for both weeks the highest rated segments were Federline's. Other than the "it's not really wrestling" complaint, not sure what all the negativity is about.

Let's try to think outside our own personal preferences. We're better than that. I know the guy is no-talent scumbag loser, but he's still famous. Tito Ortiz was on a TV show every week last season. More than 600,000 people paid money to watch him pound the snot of Ken Shamrock on PPV - how many albums do you think Federline will sell? He's got the scumbag tabloid quotient of being "linked" with Jenna Jameson down now, and the same people who know Federline for getting it on with a pop tart probably know Ortiz for getting it on with the most famous porn star ever. My own personal preferences aside, I think it's a legitimate question, quite frankly. Tito's the biggest star in what is arguably the biggest "sports entertainment" promotion in the country, he's in the tabloids, and he's sleeping with a woman who is far more famous than he is. I think it's a valid question.
