NWA Heartland Card #138 Welcome Stadium, Dayton, Ohio May 26, 2008 The show opens in the outdoor venue of a football stadium. A festival is taking place, complete with ferris wheel, merry-go-round, and a variety of children's activities. Barbecue grills are steaming, while clowns circle the stadium, juggling bowling pins and making balloon animals. In the center of the stadium is the wrestling ring with bleachers on all sides. NWA Heartland banners surround the ring. Fireworks fill the air as COMMISSIONER DAYTONDAVE stands in the center of the ring, dressed in a polo shirt and khaki shorts and wearing designer sunglasses. Daytondave holds a microphone as he addresses the packed audience.Daytondave: Happy Memorial Day! Fans, everybody loves a carnival! It is our privilege that you have joined us here at the University of Dayton for our very special holiday edition of NWA Heartland Wrestling. In honor of the men and women of our Armed Forces, and in particular those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our liberties, we welcome you today. So relax, grab some barbecue and a cold beverage, and enjoy today's special matches! The theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey fills the stadium as the "NATURE BOY" RIC FLAIR appears at the tunnel and struts to the ring. Flair is decked out in a red and blue robe with white trim in honor of the festive occasion.Daytondave: What a way to open the show! Ladies and gentlemen, an unexpected guest has arrived. Please welcome, NWA Heartland Heavyweight Champion, the Nature Boy, Ric Flair! Flair: Whooo! Commissioner Daytondave, as always, nobody throws a bash like my man the big cheese! Whooo! But Daytondave, all is not well in Horseman country. One week ago today, the Nature Boy tasted the Sweet Chin Music- out of nowhere! Unprovoked and unexpected. Now I'm not a man to whine- in fact, I respect Shawn Michaels for what he did. You don't get to the top of the wrestling business by sitting on your hands. No, daddy! You gotta fight your way to the top of the mountain. Whatever it takes! Michaels, you took your shot. You made your statement. And you succeeded in getting the attention of the Nature Boy. I've sucker punched enough men in my day, I know the score. But you have also got to know, that if you wanna dance, you gotta pay the piper. And today, Michaels, your bill comes due. You wanna jump on the Nature Boy? Today's the day. I'm callin' you out, Heartbreak Kid. You and me, in this very ring, with the Heartland Heavyweight Championship on the line. I want your best shot! Daytondave: Wow! Fans, I think we have just signed our main event match! Ric Flair versus Shawn Michaels for the Heartland Heavyweight Championship! That match will top off a great card here at Welcome Stadium. I am pleased that JR JAMES is on hand as well. JR, tell us about today's card. JR James: Thank you, Daytondave. Indeed, we have a tremendous card planned for today, no question! In addition to the Heartland title, we will also see a rematch for the Heartland Tag Team Championship! In a rematch from last Monday night, the new champions, DUSTY RHODES and BARRY WINDHAM, will take on the former champions, the NEW AGE OUTLAWS. The Outlaws are not very happy about losing the belts, and today they will exercise their rematch clause and take their shot to regain the gold! Daytondave: Fantastic! Both major championships will be on the line! On a less positive note, I am sorry to announce that following an injury to TRACI BROOKS last Monday night, the remainder of the Divas Tag Team Tournament has been cancelled. We wish Traci all the best in her recovery. Now, let's hit the ring for our opening contest! (Tonight's referee: Brady Boone)CHRIS HERO vs. MVPHero started the match on fire in his home town, dominating MVP with his technical arsenal and gaining several near fallswith the Hangman's Clutch and the Hero's Welcome. MVP was nearly pinned before BARRY BONDS interrupted referee Brady Boone's count. As Brady put Bonds out of the ring, MVP took advantage with a spin kick and the tide of the match turned. MVP knocked Hero out of the ring with a running big boot, and Hero was nearly counted out while getting into a shoving match with Bonds. Hero just made it back to the ring, but walked right in to a Ballin' Elbow and MVP completed the pin. WINNER: MVPDaytondave: What a farce! Hero has been victimized by the numbers game. We'll see if ROWDY RODDY PIPER fares any better against MVP at Slamiversary, In the meantime, we have a battle of two former football stars who have transitioned to the world of wrestling. The music "Jive Soul Bro" fills the stadium as SLICK boogies his way to the ring. Slick is followed closely by BOBO BRAZIL, boogeying his way down the aisle and high-fiving the fans. Slick and Bobo hit the ring together and execute the Electric Slide, to the delight of the Dayton fans. LEX LUGER vs. BOBO BRAZIL (w/ SLICK)The two powerhouses battled all over Welcome Stadium, both using their strength moves impressively as the match turned back and forth. Bobo stunned Luger with a big headbutt to take control of the match, but before Brazil could capitalize, SHANE DOUGLAS dashed to ringside and attacked Slick! Slick took quite a pounding until Bobo came to the rescue, but Luger smartly caught Brazil with a clothesline to the back of the head, putting him down on the ground. Brazil staggered to his feet, shaking his fists furiously as he staggered back to the ring. At that point, Bobo seemed impenetrable, as Luger pounded away. Bobo finally retaliated with a series of big hammer punches, then wore him down with a crushing bearhug and put him on the canvas with a Coco Butt for the victory. WINNER: BOBO BRAZILDaytondave: Bobo really got fired up after the attack on Slick! Fortunately, it looks like the Doctor of Style is going to be all right. Bobo is helping him to his feet after that senseless attack by Shane Douglas. You can bet that Mr. Brazil will be paying Mr. Douglas a visit before long. Next, we have another long-awaited grudge match. I am happy, well, perhaps "happy" is not the word, but Heartland Wrestling is fortunate today to recognize the return of KILLER KOWALSKI to action tonight. Kowalski has been embroiled in a bitter feud against TAKESHI MORISHIMA, and today these hated rivals will write another chapter in their storied history. Before we go to that match, JR James has some video from this epic rivalry. A video of the feud between Morishima and Kowalski plays. Footage from Illinois is played, showing Kowalski smacking Morishima across the head with the Mountie's shock stick. Morishima's revenge follows, as the giant Japanese slams the ring steps down onto the fallen Kowalski following a match in Moline. The package concludes with a shot of Kowalski being taken away from the iWireless center in an ambulance after the brutal attack.TAKESHI MORISHIMA vs. KILLER KOWALSKIAnother enormous confrontation of Heartland Behemoths! Kowalski launched into Morishima in a rage, pounding him with punches and knee smashes and punishing him with a stomach claw. Morishima took everything that the Canadian had to offer, then fought back gamely. Morishima floored Kowalski with the running hip attack, then surprised the Killer with a flying clothesline off the middle turnbuckle! With Kowalski on dream street, the giant Japanese powered him over with the Saito Suplex and covered Kowalski for a three-count. After the decision, the brawling wasn't finished. Morishima continued to pound on Kowalski, prompting the Killer to flee the ring to the stadium floor. Morishima followed, but Kowalski was ready for him! He grabbed Takeshi by the arm and whipped him viciously into the steel ring steps! Morishima hit the steps hard and crumpled to the ground in a heap. Kowalski scoffed, stepping over Morishima and walking out of the ring area.WINNER: TAKESHI MORISHIMADaytondave: What a brutal confrontation! These two are consumed by their animosity. I don't think we've seen the last of this rivalry by any means. Which begs the question- if a Canadian wrestler grabs a Japanese wrestler by the arm and hurls him across the ring... is it still considered an Irish Whip? Between matches, ANGELINA LOVE and VELVET SKY enter the ring. Angelina and Velvet are wearing matching red, white and blue sequined tops and white short shorts. Each of the ladies greets Daytondave with a peck on the cheek. Angelina and Velvet then assemble T-shirt guns and fire free souvenirs to fans throughout the stadium.NWA HEARTLAND TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP THE TEXAS MAVERICKS (DUSTY RHODES & BARRY WINDHAM) (c) vs. THE NEW AGE OUTLAWSIn a match which was much more decisive than the previous encounter, Rhodes and Windham pounded down the Outlaws and controlled the action. BG James took the brunt of the abuse, as Dusty nailed him with a flying clothesline and nearly rendered him unconscious with the Weaverlock. BG tried to escape, but Dusty hurled him to the Mavericks' corner and tagged in Windham. Windham kept the action close to the corner, hoisting BG up for the Sweetwater Superplex and pinning him cleanly as Rhodes cut off the charging Kip James. WINNERS: THE TEXAS MAVERICKS(Retained Heartland Tag Team Titles) (Windham pinned BG James with a Sweetwater Superplex)Daytondave: What a dominant victory! Rhodes and Windham have certainly gelled as a team. Is there anyone that will rise up to challenge these tough Texans? The Heartland has always been the center of the finest tag team wrestling in the NWA, and I can't wait to see who will step forward and challenge the Mavericks for the belts. And finally, fans, let's head to the Main Event! The Heartland Heavyweight Championship is about to be settled! RIC FLAIR has been a remarkable champion, and today he faces a stiff test from SHAWN MICHAELS. Before we head back to the ring, JR James has compiled another video package to chronicle the rise of the Nature Boy. A video package plays, beginning in January as Flair captures the Heartland Heavyweight Championship in a tournament victory over TERRY GORDY. Flair is seen battling THE ROCK, CHRISTOPHER DANIELS, and STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN. Scenes of limousine rides with the Horsemen and TRACI BROOKS are displayed, followed by the classic footage of Falir and Traci dancing in a conga line with Daytondave, Velvet Sky, and Angelina Love. At the end of the package, slow-motion footage of Flair being dropped by a superkick from SHAWN MICHAELS in the hallway of the Luce Center is played. The highlight reel ends with Flair and the Horsemen being pummeled by Michaels, KEVIN NASH, and the NO REMORSE CORPS in the dimly lit barroom in East Lansing, Michigan.NWA HEARTLAND HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP RIC FLAIR (c) vs. SHAWN MICHAELSDesperate for revenge, Flair took over on Michaels from the opening bell! Flair immediately went to work on the right knee of the challenger, slowing him down and leaving him in pain. Michaels attempted a comeback, pouncing off the ropes with a flying shoulderblock which put the Nature Boy on the mat. But Flair quickly neutralized Michaels with a devastating low blow, and again took control. Brady Boone chastized Flair for the cheap shot, but allowed the action to continue. The low blow also brought COURTENEY COX out of the locker room, accompanied by KEVIN NASH. Courteney confronted Brady Boone and began screeching at him! Nash began slapping the mat to encourage Michaels, but the Nature Boy was relentless. Flair trapped Michaels in a small package, but Boone gave a slow count and Michaels escaped. After another hard kick to the knee, Flair wrapped HBK in the figure-4 leglock. Despite the shouts and screeches from ringside, Michaels was unable to escape and finally tapped out from the pain. WINNER: RIC FLAIR(Retains Heartland Heavyweight Championship)After the decision, Courteney Cox angrily confronted Brady Boone! Kevin Nash held Boone from behind while Courteney slapped him. Senior referee Joe Kopasz rushed to the scene, but Shawn Michaels held Kopasz at bay while Courteney reached up and ripped the Heartland logo off Boone's shirt. Nash then shoved Boone out of the ring and called for a microphone, which he handed to Courteney.Courteney: Boone, that's what you get for failing to do your job. You're fired! Daytondave- I want you in this ring right now! Daytondave appears confused, but he leaves the announcer's table and enters the ring. Courteney: Daytondave, it is my unfortunate duty to make this announcement. Due to the reckless spending of NWA Heartland, Inc., and your blatant financial mismanagement of this promotion, the Heartland Championship Committee has been forced to declare bankruptcy. The lavish parties, the outrageous contracts paid to MVP, Roddy Piper, Psicosis, the Von Erichs, and other overpaid wrestlers, as well as your own extravagant wardrobe and other lifestyle indulgences, have forced this organization into a level of debt from which we are unable to recover. All wrestling-related business in the Heartland is hereby terminated, effective immediately. My staff will now clear the ring. Daytondave looks stunned. CHRISTY HEMME walks to the ring, wearing her conservative black business suit and glasses, with her hair pulled back in a bun, and carrying a clipboard. Christy fights back a tear as she takes the microphone from Daytondave, and walks to the announcer's table to begin clearing away papers. RENE GOULET and his Elite Security Forces approach Ric Flair, who is shocked as they relieve him of the championship belt. The ring crew takes up the task of removing the Heartland banners and decorations from around the ring. The sound system shuts down and the spotlights are extinguished. The crowd sits in stunned silence as Daytondave stands alone in the deserted ring.

NWA Heartland Press Conference June 10, 2008 The press conference opens in a small high school auditorium in inner city Dayton. A poorly lit podium is shown on the stage. A handful of reporters sit uncomfortably in the wooden seats awaiting the beginning of the conference. JR JAMES approaches the podium and reads from a prepared statement. JR James: Gentlemen, with the firing of the former commissioner, Daytondave, I have been asked to serve as the official spokesman for the Heartland territory. It is my privilege to address the wrestling world this evening, and we thank you for joining us. I am very pleased to anounce that the rights to the NWA Heartland territory have been purchased by an interested benefactor, and that Heartland Wrestling will soon be back in business! A commotion arises throughout the audience. Reporters begin shouting questions at JR, who calmly raises his hand to silence the relentless mob. JR: It is with great pleasure that I announce the Heartland benefactor, and the new owner of the NWA Heartland territory, "THE MILLION DOLLAR MAN, TED DIBIASE!"JR turns to the side of the stage, gesturing with his right arm to welcome DiBiase to the podium, but there is no sign of him. Murmurs begin to arise throughout the auditorium, turning to chuckles. Red-faced, JR stutters as he returns to the podium. Before he can speak, a triumphant shout is heard at the back of the room.Voice: "Mine, it's mine!!!" The reporters turn around as confusion fills the arena. BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN strides to the stage from the back of the arena, accompanied by LARRY ZBYSZKO and OX BAKER. Heenan brushes past JR and assumes the podium. JR tries to intervene, but Ox sticks out a massive arm and blocks JR from Heenan.Heenan: Guess what, humanoids! The joke's on you. DiBiase took one look at this worthless territory and he wanted nothing to do with it. He's going to Central States to wrestle with his old man. He couldn't wait to unload this territory. So, DiBiase has sold me 50% of his interest in Heartland, and given me free reign to run this territory as I see fit. He's keeping the other half in order to turn a profit, because he knows that if anyone can make a go of this place, it's The Brain. And I got one helluva bargain- 15 cents on the dollar! Fans, say hello to your new president! Heenan begins to sing, "Hail to the Chief" as he turns and shakes hands with Zbyszko. Ox stands by menacingly as the reporters begin firing questions and the cameras flash. Heenan disregards his questioners and continues gladhanding until he is interrupted. Over the speaker system, the strains of "The Chase" by Giorgio Moroder fill the arena. JIM CORNETTE bursts onto the scene, accompanied by STAN LANE and BOBBY EATON. Heenan and his men appear confused as Cornette takes over the podium.Cornette: Well isn't this quite the little party? It's high time things shaped up around here, and I am just the man to make that happen. Congratulations, fans, you bet on the right horse! Jim Cornette, Incorporated, with the support of Mama Cornette, has just purchased a 50% share and controlling interest in NWA Heartland! DiBiase bailed out on his investment and sold me half his shares at 10 cents on the dollar! He's keeping the other half in order to turn a profit, because he knows that if anyone can make a go of this place, it's James E. Cornette! Heenan: WHAT?!? DiBiase sold ME half his shares! Cornette: Bobby Heenan? Who invited you to this territory? I don't remember hiring you. Heartland belongs to DiBiase and me. It's all in the paperwork, right here! Cornette reaches into his coat pocket and produces a contract. Heenan turns to Zbyszko, who also pulls a contract out of his coat.Cornette: That- swindler! Heenan: That scumbag! Cornette: I knew he couldn't be trusted! Heenan: I've been hustled! Cornette: At least I got a better deal. So, as your new president, my first order of business will be to direct Bobby the Brain to pull my car around. I gotta get to my office! Heenan: YOUR office? Listen, bigmouth, this is MY territory and I'm not about to answer to the likes of you. Cornette: Get out of my face, you little weasel. Heenan: Shut up, you fat bigmouthed redneck! Heenan shoves Cornette, who tumbles to the floor. Cornette waddles to his feet, his glasses bent and hanging off his face as he lunges at Heenan. Ox Baker intervenes, catching Cornette with one arm as Jim flails his arms and shouts at Heenan. Bobby Eaton sucker-punches Larry Zbyszko. Stan Lane shoves Heenan from behind, sending the Brain crashing into the podium and off the stage, sprawling on the floor of the auditorium. The scene deteriorates into a wild brawl as JR James tries desperately to restore order. Lane grabs the tennis racket and smashes Ox across the back of the head. Baker drops Cornette and turns to Lane, who drills him with a low blow! An enormous figure rushes in from backstage and pulls JR to safety. A smaller bald man in a business suit walks calmly to the camera and puts his hand over the lens, shutting down the filming as the scene abruptly goes to black.

NWA Heartland Press Conference June 17, 2008 JR JAMES opens the conference at the podium, flanked by NWA Heartland owners JIM CORNETTE and BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN.JR James: Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen! This is JR James live from the main auditorium at Belmont High School in Dayton, Ohio. After endless hours of meetings, we have prepared a terrific card for the return of NWA Heartland Wrestling! As you all know, there is no question that the Heartland has long been the center of the tag team universe here in the NWA. Indeed, I am pleased to report that no less than 13 teams have already thrown their names into the hat for the Heartland Tag Team Championship tournament! And in our return to action, we'll see five first-round matches. JR picks up a clipboard from the podium and begins to read.JR: The top three seeds will receive byes into the quarterfinals. With the departure of the previous champions, DUSTY RHODES and BARRY WINDHAM, the number one seed has been awarded to the former champions, THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS. The #2 seed will be the former NWA World Tag Team Champions, THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS!Cornette beams proudly as his team is announced. Heenan scowls and snaps at JR James.Heenan: Go on, read the #3 seed, dummy! JR: The #3 seed is a team that has been a perennial contender in the Heartland for many months. The team of DELIRIOUS and - Heenan: Read the clipboard, stupid! You're obviously confused! JR looks at the clipboard.JR: LARRY ZBYSZKO and OX BAKER?!? Wait a minute- they aren't even a team! How did they get rated number 3? Cornette: Heenan, you little piece of garbage! You can't monkey around with the brackets! JR: That's right, Heenan! DELIRIOUS and MORISHIMA are supposed to be seeded third! Heenan: Says who? I own this company! JR: But tampering with the competitive balance of the NWA Heartland is a clear violation of corporate policy! Heenan: Listen, bozo. You work for me. You still wanna work for me tomorrow? Cornette: Oh, let him have his precious seed, JR. Just give us the pairings and let's get on with it. It's not like Baker and Zbyszko are any kind of a threat to win anything. JR: No question about that. Here are the revised first-round matches: HILLBILLY JIM & UNCLE ELMER vs. BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONG THE KILLER BEES vs. IRON SHEIK & NIKOLAI VOLKOFF THE KANGAROOS vs. DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE & PLAYBOY BUDDY ROSE ANGELO MOSCA & THE MOUNTIE vs. TITO SANTANA & PEPPER GOMEZ DELIRIOUS & MORISHIMA vs. BOBO BRAZIL & TONY ATLASJR: Fans, I can't wait for Friday night's action! This should be a marvelous show indeed! We'll see you Friday night!

NWA Heartland Card #139 Belmont High School, Dayton, Ohio June 20, 2008 The show opens in the dimly lit high school gymnasium. A crowd of less than 100 people is gathered as JR JAMES enters the ring.JR: Fans, thank you for joining us this evening. Indeed, it is a privilege for NWA Heartland Wrestling to be back in action after an extended hiatus. This territory has been through some tough times lately, but we are confident that under the leadership of BOBBY HEENAN and JIM CORNETTE that the Heartland will rise from the ashes and return ti the glory days of old! For tonight's card, we have the first round of the NWA Heartland Tag Team Championship tournament! A total of 13 teams have entered the tourney, and tonight we will get things started. Heartland Senior Referee Joe Kopasz is in the ring to officiate tonight's contests. ANGELO MOSCA & THE MOUNTIE vs. TITO SANTANA & PEPPER GOMEZMosca dominated long segments of this match by overpowering both Mexican foes. But Santana surprised The Mountie with a flying crossbody block and trapped him in a devastating figure-4 leglock for a submission. WINNERS: SANTANA & GOMEZ(Santana forced Mountie to submit after a Figure-4 leglock)JR: A great battle between the Mexicans and the Canadians. The Heartland is indeed the melting pot of the NWA! Mosca was very impressive in that match, but Santana got the best of it in the end. THE ARMSTRONGS (BRAD & BOB) vs. THE HILLBILLIES (HILLBILLY JIM & UNCLE ELMER)After a highly entertaining bout, Brad took down Jim with a Russian leg sweep and earned the pinfall. WINNERS: THE ARMSTRONGS(Brad Armstrong pinned Hillbilly Jim with a Russian leg sweep)JR: See what I mean about the international flavor of the Heartland? Even in a battle of the southerners, it is decided by a Russian Leg Sweep! No question, Brad was best athlete in the match and he proved it with an excellent finishing manuver. The Armstrongs move on to face THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS in the quarterfinals! And now, I have been asked to introduce a new team to the Heartland. These gentlemen enjoy life in the fast lane. Fine dining, beautiful women, luxury automobiles, and the action at the casinos are what they are about. Check out DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE and PLAYBOY BUDDY ROSE, the "HIGH ROLLERS".THE HIGH ROLLERS (DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE & PLAYBOY BUDDY ROSE) vs. THE FABULOUS KANGAROOS (ROY HEFFERNAN & AL COSTELLO)The Rollers rocked the house tonight, turning the tide in a frenetic match. Despite the interference of "Wild" Red Berry, the Rollers made frequent tags and kept the Kangaroos on the defensive. After nearly putting Costello into La-La Land with a sleeper, Rose delivered a picture-perfect Bombs Away and pinned him cleanly. WINNERS: THE HIGH ROLLERS(Buddy Rose pinned Al Costello with the Bombs Away)JR: Now that's something of a shocker. The Kangaroos were considered by many observers to be one of the favorites in this tournament. But Rose has a history of pulling the upsets around this territory, and tonight he held true to form as the team of the Playboy and DDP advances to the quarterfinals. TEAM TSUNAMI (DELIRIOUS & TAKESHI MORISHIMA) vs. TONY ATLAS & BOBO BRAZIL (w/ SLICK)The early stages of the contest pitted Morishima against both opponents in a variety of tests of strength. The giant Japanese seemed to be fascinated by the power of both Atlas and Bobo, and was more than willing to test his mettle against both men. After a long and very competitive matchup, Atlas & Brazil finally isolated Morishima in the ring and wore him down severely. Delirious saved Takeshi after a series of Coco Butts, and sent Atlas reeling with a wild flurry of aerial manuevers. But the flurry ended abruptly when Atlas caught Delirious off the ropes, pressed him over head, and slammed him to the canvas for a pinfall. WINNERS: BRAZIL & ATLAS(Atlas pinned Delirious after a Gorilla Slam)JR: No question, the team of Bobo and Atlas is the most powerful pairing in the Heartland. These guys are monstrous! They have just moved to the quarterfinals, where they will meet the dubious #3 seeded OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO. You can bet that BOBBY HEENAN is sweating bullets at the prospect of that matchup! THE KILLER BEES vs. IRON SHEIK & NIKOLAI VOLKOFF (w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV)A classic feud of the 80's lived up to all expectations in the main event! Both teams looked sharp throughout, with frequent tags and crisply executed double-teams. As the match wore on, the strength of Volkoff and Sheik gradually put them in control. Blair took the brunt of the punishment, and ultimately found himself the victim of the infamous Camel Clutch! Brunzell made the save, but as referee Joe Kopasz was putting Brunzell out of the ring, Volkoff entered and dropped Blair throat-first over the top rope. Blair collapsed to the mat, and Sheik covered him for the three-count. WINNERS: IRON SHEIK & NIKOLAI VOLKOFF(Sheik pinned Blair after a double-team attack)JR: Indeed, an outstanding main event match-up this evening. Sheik and Volkoff had a serious test, but outlasted and overcame the Killer Bees and came away victorious! It has been wonderful to be a part of the Heartland's return to action, ladies and gentlemen. We'll be back on the road Monday night with our next show. Until then, so long from the Buckeye State!

NWA Heartland Card #140 Belmont High School Gymnasium, Dayton, Ohio June 23, 2008 The show opens in the dimly lit high school gymnasium. A crowd of roughly 100 people is gathered as JR JAMES enters the ring.JR: Good evening, fans, and thank you for coming out for tonight's matches! The return of the Heartland was an exciting one, no question about it. Tonight, we have more of the same in store, as we move ahead to the quarterfinals of the Heartland Tag Team Championship! In our first match, we'll see the return of the top seed, the former Heartland tag champions, THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS! The Outlaws will take on the exciting team from south of the border, PEPPER GOMEZ and TITO SANTANA. Before the match, we will have a special conversation with these Mexican warriors, brought to you by the Heartland's newest production assistant, The Legend Himself, WILDMAN BUTCH MICHAELS!The camera cuts back to the A-V closet in the school basement. A small, solidly built man in a business suit with a shaven head stands with Santana and Gomez. Wildman: Thank you, JR! It's great to be part of wrestling in the Heartland! I am here tonight with the team from Mexico, winners of Friday night's match against Team Canada. Pepper Gomez, tell us how you plan to approach your match tonight against the top seeded Outlaws. Gomez: Well, Wildman, everybody knows the Outlaws are smart and they are dangerous. But Tito and me, we are a team! Together, we can work to defeat these champions! Wildman: Tito Santana- tell us about your epic victory over the Canadian team! Santana: Like my partner said, me amigo, we are a team! Angelo Mosca is a big man and The Mountie is dangerous. But with hard work and unity, we delivered a great victory over two very worthy opponents! Arriba! As Tito talks, THE MOUNTIE enters the scene. From the auditorium, jeers erupt, followed by chants of "You tapped out! You tapped out!" Mountie scowls and snatches the microphone from Wildman. Mountie: How dare you, Santana! How dare you embarrass the pride of Canada! You shall pay for your misdeed, I swear it on all that is sacred! Santana: Amigo, I have no beef with you. Friday night was an excellent wrestling match, and we were honored to be the victors. I will face you again another time in the ring, mano-y-mano. But tonight, we must face the Outlaws. Mountie: I accept your challenge. Tonight, the Mountie shall get his man! Santana: Later, me amigo. Let me shake your hand and wish you well, and after we face the Outlaws I will talk to Mr. Cornette and arrange our match! Santana shakes the hand of the Mountie, and turns to follow Gomez to the ring. As he departs, Mountie pulls out his shock stick and zaps Santana between the shoulder blades! Tito goes down in a heap. Wildman attempts to restrain Mountie, but is unable to do so. An enormous figure rushes in and grabs Mountie, hauling him away from the fallen Santana. Tito gamely staggers to his feet, limping after Gomez and struggling to get to the ring as JR James makes the introductions.(Tonight's referee: Joe Kopasz)PEPPER GOMEZ & TITO SANTANA vs. THE NEW AGE OUTLAWSWith Santana woozy on the ring apron, Gomez was forced to carry the load in this match. The Outlaws smelled blood, and Kip James overpowered Gomez. Kip controlled the action, hitting the Fame-Asser twice on a helpless Gomez. Santana managed to crawl into the ring and save Gomez from the pin, but BG James immediately hurled Tito to the floor. Kip delivered a Cobra Clutch Slam on Gomez, and that was all she wrote. WINNERS: THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS(Kip James pinned Pepper Gomez with the Cobra Clutch Slam)JR: No question, the Outlaws are as vicious as they are opportunistic. They certainly don't need any help in this tournament, but the Mountie took out Tito for them and the rest is history. As the Mexican team staggers out of the ring area, Santana grabs the microphone from JR. Santana: Mountie! This loss is because of YOU! I will have my revenge with you TONIGHT! JR: Wow! Fans, it appears that the famous temper of Tito Santana has come to the surface. Santana and Mountie will do battle tonight! We'll see that match at the completion of tonight's tag team action. Now, let's head back to the ring for another match! THE HIGH ROLLERS (DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE & PLAYBOY BUDDY ROSE) vs. IRON SHEIK & NIKOLAI VOLKOFF (w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV)In an action-packed, back-and-forth match, Sheik and Volkoff appeared to be well on their way to victory as they pummelled the Playboy. But Rose made a miracle escape and tagged in Page. DDP caught an unsuspecting Volkoff in the Diamond Cutter! Sheik made the save, but Rose took advantage of the distraction and nailed Nikolai off the top rope, allowing Page to make the cover as referee Joe Kopasz turned his attnetion back to the match and counted the pin. WINNERS: THE HIGH ROLLERS(Dallas Page pinned Nikolai Volkoff after a double-team)JR: Another stunning upset! The High Rollers have taken down another heavily favored team. Indeed, Diamond Dallas Page can hit that Diamond Cutter in any situation, and turn the course of any match. I never would have predicted it, but the team of Page and Rose is headed to the semifinals of the tag team championship! BOBO BRAZIL & TONY ATLAS (w/ SLICK) vs. OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO (w/ BOBBY HEENAN)This match was brutal from the opening bell, when Brazil nailed Zbyszko with a Big Hammer Punch to set the stage for the brawl that followed. Inside the ring and out, this contest was a slugfest! All four men absorbed severe punishment, but none backed down. Surprisingly quick thinking by Ox led to the finish, when the big man sidestepped a charging Atlas. After Atlas crashed headlock into the turnbuckle, Baker brought Zbyszko back into the match, and the Legend executed a vicious piledriver on Atlas for the pinfall. WINNERS: OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO(Zbyszko pinned Atlas after a piledriver)JR: That was one UGLY brawl, fans. The mean streets of inner city Dayton have nothing on the violence we just saw. Here's hoping our next match will showcase more of the precision and athleticism that has been the face of tag team wrestling here in the Heartland throughout our history. THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (BOBBY EATON & STAN LANE w/ JIM CORNETTE) vs. BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONGChaos in the Heartland! It didn't take long for Jim Cornette to make his presence felt in the Midnights' debut match. Cornette was in the face of Brad Armstrong from the opening bell, causing the enraged Bob Armstrong to charge after the loud-mouthed manager. The Midnights took advantage, waylaying Brad with the double goozle. When referee Kopasz tried to put Stan Lane out of the ring, none other than DENNIS CONDREY appeared! Eaton and Condrey hoisted Brad up for the Veg-O-Matic! Condrey escaped the ring as Eaton covered Brad to record the victory. WINNERS: THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS(Bobby Eaton pinned Brad Armstrong with the Veg-O-Matic)JR: What a travesty! Did I say something about precision and athleticism? What was I thinking? I should have known Cornette would have something up his sleeve. It's bad enough that James E. is out here running his mouth, but they have to bring Condrey out here, too? No question, that Cornette is a dangerous man. I better watch my words here, because the man signs my paycheck. Well, fans, it didn't take long for the emotions of the sport of wrestling to boil over here in the new Heartland. We're about to see our first grudge match in the new era! SPECIAL CHALLENGE MATCH: TITO SANTANA vs. THE MOUNTIESantana went after the Mountie fists and fire! The hot-tempered Tito nearly tore Mountie limb from limb, peppering him with dropkicks and flying crossbody blocks. When Mountie left the ring to go for the shock stick, Tito beat him to the ringside table, grabbed him by the back of the neck, and hurled him into the security railing! Santana then threw Mountie back into the ring and wrapped him into the trademark figure-4 leglock! Mountie thrashed and flailed, but was unable to escape the hold and was forced to give it up! WINNER: TITO SANTANA(Submission via Figure-4 leglock)JR: What a match from Tito Santana! That performance showed a tremendous amount of resiliency, indeed. Not more than one hour ago, Santana could barely move after being shocked by the Mountie, but he is still able to get up and summon the strength to wrestle this man into submission. Mountie is 0-for-2 against Santana now, and he is in a rage as the fans continue to taunt him with the chants of "You Tapped Out!" Fans, it has been another night of exciting action here in the Heartland and as usual, we thank you for joining us. We'll be back on Thursday night with more great action, as we'll see the semifinals of the tag team tournament! Until then, so long from the Buckeye State!

NWA Heartland Card #141 Belmont High School Gymnasium, Dayton, Ohio June 26, 2008 The show opens in the dimly lit high school gymnasium. A crowd of slightly over 100 people is gathered as JR JAMES enters the ring. As JR prepares to address the audience, the scene shifts to the Heartland offices in the A-V closet in the basement of the school, where JAMES E. CORNETTE and BOBBY HEENAN are engaged in conversation.Cornette: 103 people? That's it? Heartland is supposed to be the mecca of wrestling! How can we run a show for only 103 people? Heenan: You're asking me? You're supposed to be the genius here. At least, that's what you told me when you showed up. But don't worry, Cornette. I'm the Brain, and I have the plan that will put this territory back on the map. Cornette: You have a plan? This I gotta hear. What's the plan, Einstein? Heenan: A venture capitalist. Cornette: A WHAT? Heenan: A rich dude. Cornette: I know what a venture capitalist is, you idiot! Where do you expect to find a venture capitalist? Heenan: Trust me on this one, Cornette. I got a guy all lined up. Filthy rich... an oil man from the deep south... dumb as a box of rocks. Cornette: George W. Bush? How'd you get W to invest in the Heartland? Heenan: NO! Gees, Cornette, you can't be serious. Bush may be capable enough to lead the free world, but bringing Heartland Wrestling back to prominence is a whole nother issue. You'll see soon enough what the Brain has in store. Now what's your plan? Cornette: Bobby, I've been thinking out of the box. I have signed some of the most exciting independent wrestlers in the country, and we're gonna see some great action tonight. You won't believe your eyes! Heenan rolls his eyes.Heenan: You think the fans are gonna come out to see a bunch of ham-and-eggers wrestle? Gimme a break. Cornette: Just you wait, Heenan. This is gonna be great! The scene shifts back to the ring, where JR James has completed his introductions and the action is ready to start!(Tonight's referee: Joe Kopasz)TOM PRICHARD vs. SCOTTY VORTEKZThe exciting young Vortekz dazzled the crowd with an assortment of flying kicks and strikes. But Prichard took the punishment and battled back with a ground-based attack, nearly decapitating young Scotty with a devastating throat drop across the top rope. Scotty battled back, nearly gaining the pin on Prichard after a scintillating moonsault, sending Prichard to the floor. Prichard went under the ring in search of a weapon, and managed to produce only a wooden paddle. When Scotty came over the top rope with a suicide dive, Prichard blasted him with the battle. Joe Kopasz called for the bell and immediately disqualified Prichard. Throughout the match, a group of men seated at ringside were seen taunting Vortekz, shouting insults and threats. Vortekz did his best to stay focused in spite of the distractions. After the disqualification, the group booed loudly. One of the men threw a half-empty cup of beer in the direction of the referee, and even Tom Prichard was forced to take cover as the rowdiness continued.WINNER: SCOTTY VORTEKZ(Tom Prichard disqualified for use of a foreign object)JR: An impressive performance indeed for the youngster Scotty Vortekz. I guess Prichard felt the need to show that youngster a lesson in discipline and respect. That same paddle probably tanned the hide of Wildman Butch Michaels back in the day! I think those three men in the crowd could use a good paddling, no question about that. If there's one thing we won't tolerate in the Heartland, it is disrespect. Never in the history of Belmont High School has there been beer in THIS auditorium! Now let's take a look at Scotty's tag team partner, "DIEHARD" DUSTIN LEE, as he takes on one of the top independent wrestlers in the business today, "LIGHTNING" MIKE QUACKENBUSH.As Lee and Quackenbush head to the ring, another commotion arises at the rear of the gym. The back door opens and the fans gasp and begin cheering wildly! NWA World Heavyweight Champion CHRISTOPHER DANIELS appears at the rear of the gym and makes his way to the ring.JR: Christopher Daniels! The World Heavyweight Champion is here! Mr. Daniels, I cannot begin to tell you what an honor it is to have you back in the Heartland. Fans, let's have a round of applause for the winningest wrestler in the history of the territory, and the standard-bearer for the entire National Wrestling Alliance! Daniels: Well, thank you... what was your name? Geeminees, I thought I would NEVER find this place! I can't believe what a crappy federation this has become since DAYTONDAVE bailed out. Anyhow, I'm supposed to have a title defense here next week. Who's my opponent? As Daniels speaks, another frantic burst of activity is heard in the rear of the gymnasium. JAMES E. CORNETTE and BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN rush into the gym. Both men stumble over each other, jockeying for position to approach Daniels, glad-handing and patting him on the back.Daniels: Easy, fellows! Heenan: Mr. Daniels, thanks for coming! My people are drawing up your contract right now for your championship match. You're going to take on RAY STEVENS next week for the title. Cornette: Ray Stevens? Heenan, are you nuts? He hasn't even wrestled a match here yet. You can't just award a World Title match to one of your own wrestlers! Heenan: You got a better idea, dummy? Cornette: I always have a better idea. DENNIS CONDREY!Heenan: Dennis Condrey? That match wouldn't draw a plug nickel, you idiot. Mr. Daniels deserves better competition than that. Cornette: So let's put Condrey and Stevens in the ring tonight. Winner gets the title match! Daniels: Settle down, boys. I am sure there are plenty of guys in the back who would love the opportunity to earn a shot at the gold. Why not put them ALL in the ring? Heenan and Cornette stop in their tracks, and look at each other, dumbfounded.Heenan: A battle royal? Brilliant! Cornette: Daniels, you are a genius! Cornette and Heenan each put an arm around Daniels. Both men are chattering non-stop as they lead the champion to the top of the bleachers to watch the rest of the evening's matches. An enormous man in a dark suit and sunglasses follows the trio, watching closely to ensure their safety as they depart.JR: Well! Looks like we now have our main event for the evening- a battle royal to determine the challenger to the NWA World Heavyweight Championship! Lucky thing we had the champion himself here to book that match for us. No question, things were going downhill in a hurry! "DIE HARD" DUSTIN LEE vs. "LIGHTNING" MIKE QUACKENBUSHIn a closely contested match, Lee and Quack battled all over Belmont! Quackenbush dominated the match from the opening bell, alternating between his unorthodox flying moves and a variety of tortorous submission holds. But Dustin mounted a comeback, nailing Quack with a series of hard-hitting knee strikes and a stunning DDT. With both men taken to the limit, Lee hurled Quackenbush to the turnbuckle, then caught him on the rebound with a monstrous spear and scored the pinfall! Following the match, the three rowdy fans at ringside charged the ring! A fierce brawl broke out as Lee and Quackenbush teamed up and did their best to hold off the ruffians. Before long, SCOTTY VORTEKZ dashed back to the ring, evening the odds as the six men battled around the gymnasium. The warfare carried out the back of the auditorium and out into the streets of Dayton, where all six brawlers disappeared into the night!WINNER: "DIEHARD" DUSTIN LEE(Lee pinned Quackenbush after a running spear)JR: Fans, I have NO IDEA what that was all about! Dustin Lee is your winner, but he and Scotty and Quackenbush have engaged a horrendous battle against these interlopers. We'll follow that situation as it develops. HEARTLAND TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: SEMIFINAL MATCH THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (w/ JIM CORNETTE) vs. THE HIGH ROLLERS (PLAYBOY BUDDY ROSE & DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE)In a brief but intense confrontation, DDP nearly caught a pin on Lane after the Diamond Cutter. But Eaton made the save and the match continued. Page tagged in Rose, but Lane promptly greeted the Playboy with a thunderous Midnight Lariat and pinned him quickly! WINNERS: THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS(Stan Lane pinned Buddy Rose with a Midnight Lariat)JR: Wow! Just like that, the Cinderella story comes to an end for the High Rollers, and Cornette is taking his men to the finals! Now, let's see who will provide the opposition. HEARTLAND TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: SEMIFINAL MATCH LARRY ZBYSZKO & OX BAKER (w/ BOBBY HEENAN) vs. THE NEW AGE OUTLAWSThe Outlaws controlled the contest throughout, isolating Ox Baker in the ring and wearing him down. After BG James hit Baker with a DDT, it looked to be over, but Zybszko pulled Joe Kopasz from the ring, interrupting the count. But as Kopasz argued with Bobby Heenan, the Outlaws executed a double-team Hot Shot on Baker. With the big man incapacitated, Kip dropped him with the Fame-Asser as Kopasz made it back to the ring to count the pin. WINNERS: THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS(Kip James pinned Baker with the Fame-Asser)JR: No question, that was priceless! Bobby Heenan is beside himself! But his men have gone down to defeat, and it will be the Midnight Express and the New Age Outlaws in the championship match! The top two seeds have made it all the way to the final match. But now, we have the big event- a 12-man, over-the-top-rope battle royal! The winner of this match will receive a World Championship Title match against the current champion, "THE FALLEN ANGEL", CHRISTOPHER DANIELS!MAIN EVENT: BATTLE ROYAL - WINNER GETS NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHCOUSIN LUKE survived a one-hand body slam from BRUISER BRODY, but stayed in the match JIMMY SNUKA was unable to oust STEVE WILLIAMS JOHNNY VALENTINE eliminated DON LEO JONATHAN after Don Leo missed a deathjump!THE DESTROYER missed STEVE WILLIAMS with a clothesline and nailed RAY STEVENS, but Stevens remained in the ring FRITZ VON GOERING was unable to eliminate COUSIN LUKE after a knee drop to the throat HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN survived a clothesline from JIMMY SNUKA and remained in the ring DENNIS CONDREY attacked JIMMY SNUKA, but Snuka leapfrogged and chopped Condrey over the top rope!STEVE WILLIAMS and JOHNNY VALENTINE were BOTH eliminated by RAY STEVENS as they fought against the ropes!FRITZ VON GOERING survived a suplex attempt by RAY STEVENS THE DESTROYER was eliminated by FRITZ VON GOERING as Destroyer was attacking COUSIN LUKE!BRUISER BRODY eliminated TAKESHI MORISHIMA with a massive body slam!JIMMY SNUKA eliminated HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN with a Suplex!FRITZ VON GOERING survived a suplex attempt by JIMMY SNUKA RAY STEVENS dodged a throw-out attempt by BRUISER BRODY COUSIN LUKE was eliminated by FRITZ VON GOERING after a Backbreaker!RAY STEVENS was tossed from the ring by BRUISER BRODY after a Twisting Vertical Suplex!JIMMY SNUKA was eliminated by BRUISER BRODY while Snuka was battling with FRITZ VON GOERING!BRUISER BRODY eliminated FRITZ VON GOERING after a One Hand Body Slam!WINNER: BRUISER BRODYJR: Congratulations to Bruiser Brody, your winner and the challenger to the NWA World Championship! No question, Chrsitopher Daniels will have his hands full with that situation. We'll see that match on Monday, June 30 at the Heartland's next big event! Until then, so long from the Buckeye State!

NWA Heartland Card #142 Dayton Gym Club, Dayton, Ohio June 30, 2008 The show opens in an aging, dank gymnasium on the edge of downtown Dayton. A crowd of approximately 120 people is gathered, clapping and chanting, "We Want A Show" as JR James enters the ring.JR: Welcome, fans, to another night of Heartland Wrestling. And what a night we have in store for you- it's a night of champions! We'll see NWA World Heavyweight Champion CHRISTOPHER DANIELS defend his title against the man who won the battle royal last week, BRUISER BRODY. We'll also see the crowning of the new Heartland Tag Team Champions as THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS take on THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS! But before we get tonight's matches started, I would like to personally thank BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN for booking tonight's show here at the venerable Dayton Gym Club! I guess Bobby's "Venture Capitalist" ponied up for tonight's rent money. It sure is great to be out of Belmont High School. I wonder if Wildman Butch Michaels ever made it out of Belmont? The fans applaud as Bobby Heenan joins JR in the ring.JR: Thank you again, Mr. Heenan, for tonight's accommodations! And be sure to say thanks to your benefactor. Who do we have to thank for the upgrade? Heenan: None of your business, JR. That's for me to know, and you humanoids not to figure out. JR: Very well, Brain. Now, before tonight's matches, I have one more announcement. Dayton's finest, the local police department, were kind enough to apprehend and detain the three fans who disrupted the action last week. JAMES E. CORNETTE has asked for time to address this situation here tonight. The fans applaud as Jim Cornette joins JR and Heenan in the ring.Cornette: JR, I am sick in my gullet about what happened to my indy guys last Thursday night. And I am happy to announce that those three nincompoops have been locked up in the Montgomery County jail ever since! JR: Who were those guys, Mr. Cornette? Cornette: Scumbags. Losers. Wannabes. Guys who wanted in on the contracts, but didn't have the talent nor the discipline to represent the Heartland with class and dignity. Heenan: Aw, come on, Cornette. Ease up. I liked those guys! They just came to have a good time, see some action, and bust a few heads. Cornette: How could you take a liking to those rejects? Heenan, you never cease to amaze me. Anyhow, JR, my apologies to Scotty Vortekz, Dustin Lee, and Mike Quackenbush for what happened Thursday night. I promise you boys it will never happen again! Heenan: I wouldn't be so sure about that, Cornette. Cornette: WHAT?!? Heenan, what in the sam hill are you talking about? I told you, those rejects are locked away in the clink. The pokey. The slammer! Heenan: I'm afraid not, Cornette. I had my money man bail them out this afternoon. That brawl was some of the best action we've seen around here since we arrived. I think we ought to do it again tonight! Cornette: Goodness gracious, Bobby. Have you taken leave of your senses? Before Cornette can leave the ring, the three rowdies dash in to the gym club and storm the ring. Cornette cowers in the corner of the ring in fear, but Heenan holds back the troops.Heenan: Cornette, if you can sign indy wrestlers, so can I! Allow me to introduce NECRO BUTCHER, DRAKE YOUNGER, and ARIK CANNON. Or, we can just call them what Cornette called them- THE REJECTS!As the Rejects hit the ring, DUSTIN LEE, SCOTTY VORTEKZ, and MIKE QUACKENBUSH charge in from the locker room and immediately begin brawling again. Cornette: HOLD ON! HOLD ON JUST ONE MINUTE! We are NOT gonna have another out-of-control brawl like last week. You guys are so desperate to fight, we're gonna make it official. Joe Kopasz, get out here, ring the bell, and let's have a legitimate tag team match! (Tonight's Referee: Joe Kopasz)SIX-MAN TAG TEAM SHOWDOWN: THE REJECTS (ARIK CANNON, NECRO BUTCHER, & DRAKE YOUNGER) vs. MIKE QUACKENBUSH, DUSTIN LEE, & SCOTTY VORTEKZDustin Lee dominated the early moments of the match against Arik Cannon, until Cannon dodged a running spear and planted Lee with a devastating Exploder Suplex for a near-fall! The Rejects dominated Lee, as Drake Younger pummeled him outside the ring and Necro Butcher laid a brutal beat down on the Diehard. Lee finally reversed a whip to the steel ring post, sending Necro crashing to the post shoulder-first and permitting Dustin to tag. Quackenbush entered the match, and slowed down the pace, wearing down Necro with a series of submission holds. Necro managed to tag off to Younger, who fared no better, and soon found himself on the receiving end of a Quackendriver III for a near fall. Younger took a serious pounding from all three opponents, surviving several more pinning predicaments before reversing a leg lariat from Vortekz and slamming him down to the canvas with another exploder. Younger tagged in Necro Butcher, who engaged in a long sequence against Quackenbush. Quack continued his mat-based dominance of the Butcher for several minutes, until Necro was able to escape to the ring floor and pound Quackenbush face-first into the steel ring steps! Necro put a beat down on Quackenbush inside the ring and out, before Quack was able to tag out to Lee. Butcher and Lee brawled furiously, and Necro gradually gained the upper hand. Necro and Cannon worked over Lee until he finally managed to tag in Vortekz. Out of nowhere, Scotty launched himself off the ropes and leveled Cannon with a flying tackle, followed by a roll-up and a quick pin! Following the pin, the victorious Vortekz, Lee and Quackenbush fled the ring with arms raised high in celebration! The Rejects pursued the winners out of the gym, but it appeared that the winners escaped unharmed.WINNERS: MIKE QUACKENBUSH, DUSTIN LEE, AND SCOTTY VORTEKZ(Vortekz pinned Cannon after a flying tackle)JR: Wow! Those young fellas really tore it up! No question, Cornette made a great call to bring these guys in. Even the Rejects put on an impressive performance, and I am sure that if Bobby Heenan can keep them under control, there will be a place for them on the Heartland roster. And now, fans, we have two special challenge matches for you, the result of the events which took place last Thursday night at the battle royal! SPECIAL CHALLENGE MATCH: FRITZ VON GOERING vs. JIMMY "SUPERFLY" SNUKAA surprise upset! The powerful German von Goering got the advantage early against the Superfly, reversing a body slam and crushing Snuka with a knee drop to the throat! Snuka was clearly stunned and Fritz took advantage, wearing him down with power holds. Snuka finally escaped and mounted a rally, but the crafty von Goering dodged Snuka at the turnbuckle, pulling referee Joe Kopasz into his path. Kopasz took the full force of Snuka's flying leap and went down, allowing Fritz to regain control. von Goering sent Snuka to the floor, battering him and slamming him onto the ringside table. As Kopasz recovered, von Goering rolled Snuka back into the ring and dropped another brutal knee to the throat, earning the pinfall! WINNER: FRITZ VON GOERING(von Goering pinned Snuka after a knee drop to the throat)After the decision, NIKITA BREZNIKOV came to the ring, accompanied by THE IRON SHEIK and NIKOLAI VOLKOFF. Sheik and Volkoff took Snuka by the trunks and dumped him from the ring as Breznikov took the microphone.Breznikov: Well done! Well done! Mr. von Goering, I am most pleased and impressed with your performance tonight, and as well last week in the battle royal. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Nikita Breznikov, and I have come to the Heartland in order to build a legion of champions. I am most pleased this evening to offer my services to you as a member of my legion. Mr. Sheik and Mr. Volkoff will be your associates and comrades if you find my offer to be acceptable. Von Goering ponders for a brief moment, then shakes the hand of Breznikov. Iron Sheik offers a handshake, then Volkoff grins broadly and gives Fritz a powerful embrace.Breznikov: Wonderful! Fans, I am pleased that tonight, in this very ring, THE FOREIGN LEGION is born! Breznikov leaves the ring, followed closely by his comrades.JR: Fans, I don't like the looks of this alliance already! We'll need to keep a close eye on that bunch, no question. Let's head back to the ring for another match. THREE-WAY DANCE: JOHNNY VALENTINE vs. RAY STEVENS vs. "DR. DEATH" STEVE WILLIAMSIn a tremendous battle between three powerful and savvy ring warriors, Johnny Valentine took the brunt of the punishment for most of the match. Williams was especially brutal, nailing Valentine with a backdrop driver and the Oklahoma Stampede. But for all the punishment Dr. Death dished out, Stevens continued to interrupt the pin attempts and frustrate Doc's attempts at victory. Finally, Doc in his frustration clobbered Stevens with a lariat which nearly tore the Crippler's head off. Williams went for the cover, but Valentine seized the opportunity to grab Doc by the tights, hurl him out of the ring, and quickly cover Stevens for the victory! WINNER: JOHNNY VALENTINE(Valentine pinned Stevens after a lariat from Williams)JR: What a smart move! Indeed, Johnny Valentine is a former champion in the Dayton Wrestling Alliance before we became a part of the NWA. He has scored some impressive victories right here in Dayton, and tonight's victory over Stevens and Dr. Death is another very significant addition to his resume. Finally, fans, we have come to the championship match in our Heartland Tag Team Championship Tournament. It's time for the big showdown between THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS and THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS! It has all come down to the top two seeds in the tournament! The music starts and the NEW AGE OUTLAWS emerge from behind the curtain. Kip and BG position themselves just outside the curtain. As the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS parts the curtain, the Outlaws ambush! Jim Cornette is knocked to the floor. BG and Eaton battle down the rampway. Kip gets the advantage on Stan Lane and clotheslines him to the floor! Before Lane can get to his feet, Kip grabs a steel chair and smacks him across the back of the head! Lane goes down in a heap and lies motionless on the gymnasium floor. Cornette gets to his feet and swings his tennis racket wildly, but the Outlaws dash to the ring and escape the attack. Cornette shouts at the Outlaws.Cornette: Cowards! You pansies can't face a fair fight! You are a disgrace to the traditions of the NWA! BOBBY HEENAN emerges from backstage, looking down at the unconscious Lane and shaking his head.Heenan: Tough break, my friend. Looks like the humanoids don't get a tag team title match tonight, after all. Unless we want to send OX BAKER and LARRY ZBYSZKO in to substitute for the dead guy. Cornette: Not on your life, Brain. Your boys had there shot and they already got their tails kicked. Did you have anything to do with this? Heenan: How dare you accuse me of such an injustice? You, of all people, should know that my integrity is beyond reproach! Cornette: Right. And Bill Clinton did not have sexual relations with that woman. Heenan: See, I knew that all along! Ox! Larry! Let's go, boys! Cornette: I don't think so, Bobby! I have a better idea. DENNIS CONDREY is the third member of the Midnight Express. He'll substitute for Stan Lane and the match will go on as planned. Heenan: Who gave you the authority to make matches? I'll cut you a deal, Four Eyes. Condrey can wrestle tonight. But my guys get the first title shot against the new champions. Cornette: I guess that will have to do. It's not like your buffoons are a threat to win the belts anyway. Come on, the fans are waiting! DENNIS CONDREY enters the ring area and joins Eaton to begin the match. Heenan steps over Lane and returns to the locker room as EMT's arrive to tend to Stan Lane.NWA HEARTLAND TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (BOBBY EATON & DENNIS CONDREY w/ JIM CORNETTE) vs. THE NEW AGE OUTLAWSThe strategy for the Outlaws worked flawlessly. After putting Lane out of commission, the James boys focused their attack on Condrey with devastating effectiveness. BG blasted Condrey with the Shake, Rattle & Roll Knee Drop, knocking him senseless. Cornette was beside himself at ringside, jumping onto the ring apron to prevent Joe Kopasz from counting the pin. BG followed immediately with the pump handle slam on Condrey and another cover. Eaton came in to make the save, but Kip James caught him with a running lariat. With Kopasz still tied up by Cornette, the James Boys hoisted Condrey up for a double team hot shot and Condrey was finished. Kip pulled referee Kopasz back into the center of the ring, where he made the three count and match was over! WINNERS: THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS - NEW HEARTLAND TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS(BG James pinned Dennis Condrey after a double-team hot shot)JR: Fans, congratulations to the NEW AGE OUTLAWS, your tournament winners and the new Heartland Tag Team Champions! Like they say in Texas, it ain't how it got done, it's what got done, and the James Gang has regained the tag team gold. And now, fans, it's time for the biggest match in the young history of the new Heartland! The NWA World Heavyweight Championship is on the line as your champion, "THE FALLEN ANGEL" CHRISTOPHER DANIELS, defends his crown against our own BRUISER BRODY!NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: CHRISTOPHER DANIELS (c) vs. BRUISER BRODYBrody may have had the power to win the battle royal, but a World Title match was a much different setting for the wild brawler. Brody came out full force, flinging the champion across the ring and stomping him viciously into the corner. Daniels countered smartly, catching the charging Brody with a back elbow and pitching him to the ring floor. Brody charged again, but Daniels sidestepped and caught Bruiser with a sidewalk slam. Brody came up in a fury, slamming a knee into the gut of the champion and hurling him over the top rope. Referee Tommy Young allowed the action to continue, but the furious Brody went too far, ramming Daniels' head into the steel security railing. Young immediately called for the bell, and awarded the match to Daniels via disqualification. WINNER: CHRISTOPHER DANIELS - retains title(Daniels by DQ after outside ring attack by Brody)Following the disqualification, a furious Daniels stormed to the announcers' table.JR: Mr. Daniels, on behalf of the Heartland, please allow me to apologize- Daniels: Apologize? JR, you have nothing to apologize for. You, of all people, should know that Christopher Daniels backs down from no man. I've been to war with BIG JOHN STUDD. I've battled BATISTA. You think this Heavyweight Title makes me any less of a man? I demand a rematch with this Brody character- NO DISQUALIFICATION!JR: Mr. Daniels, with all due respect, you know the NWA Board of Directors would never allow the Heavyweight Championship to be defended under those circumstances! Daniels takes the NWA Belt and throws it to the floor.Daniels: Who said anything about the championship? JR, this isn't about a title bout. This is about a man's reputation. I'm not going to hide behind the disqualification rule like some sort of scared coward! Brody, you bring your sorry ass back to the next show and I will kick your teeth down your throat! Daniels lowers his head and charges back at Brody. The big Bruiser is caught by surprise as Daniels levels him and begins pounding on his foe with a flurry of punches. Brody survives the onslaught and manages to get to his feet, growling and exchanging punches with Daniels. The fracas continues all the way back to the locker room before the entire Heartland roster manages to separate Brody and Daniels and cooler heads prevail.JR: Oh, my goodness! What a pier-six brawl we have just witnessed. No question, Christopher Daniels is all man and a yard wide, and indeed we have our Main Event scheduled for the next Heartland show! Brody versus Daniels in a no-disqualification, non-title bout! It's been an exciting night here in the Heartland, folks. Congratulations again to the New Age Outlaws for capturing the Heartland Tag Team Championship. We'll be back for a special Fourth of July show, where the fireworks will continue! Until then, so long from the Buckeye State!

NWA Heartland Card #143 Dayton Gym Club, Dayton, Ohio July 4, 2008 The show opens in a dusky, smoke filled conference room in the back of the Dayton Gym Club. BOBBY HEENAN and JIM CORNETTE are seated at a table, pouring over a large pile of papers strewn about.Heenan: Too bad, Cornette, your guys lost the title match! Believe me, I had nothing to do with that attack. Cornette: I believe you, Bobby. I don't think you're smart enough to have pulled that off! Heenan: Yeah, right. But at least MY guys are next up for a title match! Cornette: Like Baker and Zbyszko could beat the Outlaws? Never in a million years. But Bobby, we have bigger issues to look at. We need to crown a new Heartland Heavyweight champion! Heenan: How about Ray Stevens? Cornette: For the love of Pete, Heenan, you can't just GIVE titles to your own guys! Heenan: Then why did I buy this territory? Cornette: Please! Now, back to business. I have a list of 24 top names in the Heartland. Let's put them into a tournament! We'll start tonight with the first four matches. The scene shifts to the ring, where JR JAMES stands with microphone in hand.JR: Good evening, fans of the Heartland! Welcome back to the Dayton Gym Club for tonight's matches! As you have just heard from Heartland co-owner James E. Cornette, tonight will mark the beginning of the tournament to crown the new NWA Heartland Heavyweight Champion! 24 men are entered, and over the next four weeks you'll see them square off in a battle for Heartland supremacy! Also tonight, we'll see the main event rematch between NWA World Heavyweight Champion CHRISTOPHER DANIELS and the rough, tough BRUISER BRODY. That match will be non-title and NO disqualification! Nothing on the line tonight except pride, but belive you me, fans, these are two of the proudest men in the NWA and you can bet this match will be intense! No question about that! Now, let's head to the ring for our opening contest. HEARTLAND HEAVYWEIGHT TOURNAMENT: ROUND 1 PEPPER GOMEZ vs. BOBO BRAZIL (w/ SLICK)Gomez was little match for the massive Bobo. Brazil destroyed Pepper with a series of Coco Butts and finished him easily. WINNER: BOBO BRAZIL(Coco Butt)JR: So, Bobo Brazil is the winner of our opening contest! Congratulations to the popular big man for a decisive win! DRAKE YOUNGER vs. JOHNNY VALENTINEThe match itself was more competitive than most observers had expected. Younger actually managed to counter much of Valentine's technical offense, and even hit Johnny with the Drake's Landing vertebreaker for a near-fall. Valentine escaped from the ring, but Drake followed, and with his adrenaline pumping, he went under the ring for a light tube and smashed it across Valentine's back! Joe Kopasz immediately disqualified Drake, who appeared surprised. But Valentine was not satisfied with the disqualification victory. Johnny kept after Younger, pounding away with fists and fire in spite of the damage to his back. Younger found himself on the defensive, and quickly bailed out of the ring area and scrambled back to the locker room for safety.WINNER: JOHNNY VALENTINE(Younger disqualified for using a foreign object)JR: How about THAT? I guess Johnny Valentine showed that young punk what it means to be an old school tough guy! Wrestling is about more than that extreme rules crap. That's the last thing the Heartland needs, no question. Kudos to Valentine for taking his stand and sending Younger away with his tail between his legs. RAY "CRIPPLER" STEVENS (w/ BOBBY HEENAN) vs. FRITZ VON GOERING (w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV)Stevens found himself on the defensive for much of this bout. After kicking out of the von Goering backbreaker, the Crippler was still slow to recover. von Goering delivered the finisher a second time, and Bobby Heenan grabbed Fritz around the ankles to prevent him from another pin attempt. Before Breznikov could interrupt Heenan's interference, Stevens nailed von Goering with a Jumping Knee Smash and rolled him up for a quick pinfall! WINNER: RAY "CRIPPLER" STEVENS(Pinned von Goering after a Jumping Knee Smash)JR: I guess that just goes to show, you can't outfox a fox. They don't call him the "Brain" for nothing! JIMMY "SUPERFLY" SNUKA vs. TONY ATLAS (w/ SLICK)The Reverend Slick returned for a second match, but with less success. After a highly competitive encounter, Snuka leapfrogged Atlas coming off the ropes, and felled him with a thundering chop. Atlas' momentum carried him all the way to the ring floor. The dynamic Superfly went to the skies, crashing onto Atlas with a bodypress on the ring floor. Both men went down in a heap, but only Snuka was able to make it back to the ring before Kopasz completed the ten-count. WINNER: JIMMY SNUKA(Atlas counted out after a flying body press to the ring floor)JR: Good heavens! What a daredevil that Snuka is! Indeed, that is the type of high-risk manuever that may have shortened both men's careers. Atlas looks to be okay, as Slick helps him back to the locker room. Jimmy Snuka is your winner! MAIN EVENT: NO DISQUALIFICATION, NON-TITLE MATCH NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION CHRISTOPHER DANIELS vs. BRUISER BRODYThe World Champion proved his mettle in the rematch! Daniels controlled the pace of the match, and kept the action in the ring. He never allowed Brody to employ his legendary brawling tactics. Daniels executed a beautiful reverse STO after countering Brody's attempted backbreaker. From there, it was all Daniels, and the champion executed consecutive Best Moonsault Evers on Brody and pinned him cleanly! WINNER: CHRISTOPHER DANIELS(Pinned Brody after a Best Moonsault Ever)JR: No question, Daniels said it on Monday night, and he made it happen tonight. A real man settles his business in the ring, and tonight it was all business for Daniels. His game plan was perfect and his execution was flawless! Count me impressed as the World Champion takes home a very impressive victory against a formidable opponent. As usual, fans, it has been our privilege and our pleasure to present this night of wrestling action! We'll be back on Monday, July 7, with more exciting Heartland action as our tournament continues! Our feature match-up will have former Dayton champion THE DESTROYER facing a stiff challenge as he battles mighty DON LEO JONATHON. We hope you can join us! So long from the Buckeye State!

NWA Heartland Card #144 Dayton Gym Club, Dayton, Ohio July 7, 2008 The show opens in the dimly lit gym club with JR JAMES standing in the ring. Roughly 125 fans are on hand, clapping and chanting as JR takes the microphone. Without warning, a bright spotlight fills the Club. A colorful banner unfurls from the ceiling, revealing a new NWA Heartland logo! JR appears as stunned as anyone in the Club. Before he is able to speak, BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN saunters down to the ring as the crowd groans.Heenan: Hey, JR. Like the new look? JR: No question! Where did it come from? Heenan: China. JR: Seriously, I don't remember seeing this in the budget. Heenan: It wasn't. My money man covered it. JR: I must say, Brain, that I am impressed. Who is your money man, anyway? Heenan: A poor mountaineer. JR: Poor? Heenan: Barely kept his family fed. JR: Where'd he get his money? Heenan: Well, one day he was shootin' at some food.. and up from the ground came a-bubblin' crude! JR: Oil? Heenan: Black gold! Texas tea! JR: What a success story! Indeed, a tale like that belongs on television. Why don't you bring Mr. Moneybags out to meet the fans? I am sure they would like to meet him. Heenan: Sure, why not? Come on down to the ring, my friend! A folksy barn dance tune plays as COUSIN LUKE appears at the entry-way. He is dressed in a tuxedo, and dances a jig as he makes his way down to the ring.JR: Cousin Luke? JR James here. Indeed, it is an honor to meet you. Thank you for the financial support! Luke: Pleased to meet ya, JJ. I hear tell Heartland is the greatest rasslin' in the U S of A! JR: Why not stay and watch a few matches? Set a spell... Luke: Can I take my shoes off? JR: Whatever you like. Let's see some action! MIKE QUACKENBUSH vs. UNCLE ELMERIn nearly record time, Quackenbush caught Elmer coming off the ropes, and used the big man's momentum to roll him into a Quackendriver III and score a quick pinfall! WINNER: MIKE QUACKENBUSH(Quackendriver III)Luke: I'll be durned! That little feller just whooped my big ol' Uncle Elmer! JR: That's Mike Quackenbush. He's one of the new independent stars of the Heartland. He's a Legend of the Future! Luke: Well cut me up and fry me with the taters, JJ. They shore don't make 'em like they used to! NECRO BUTCHER vs. HILLBILLY JIMNecro was perplexed by the affable giant in the early stages of the match. Jim gave Necro a smile and a handshake, then immediately pummeled the Butcher from pillar to post! Necro never got untracked as the big hillbilly mauled him with slams and suplexes before squashing him with a Bear Hug. WINNER: HILLBILLY JIM(Jim defeated Necro by submission with the Bear Hug)Luke: Yee-haw! My cousin Jim just beat that ugly feller. I tell you what, Jimmy has one mean bear hug, I been there mah self! JR: You and Jim used to wrestle? Luke: What y'all call rasslin'... we call scufflin'! Luke leaves the announce table and enters the ring with Hillbilly Jim. Jim and Luke begin to dance the jig together in celebration of the victory. Necro Butcher makes it to his feet. Luke smiles at Necro and offers his arm, inviting Necro to join in the dance. Necro scowls, and launches himself at Luke, blasting him with a vicious clothesline! Necro jumps on Luke, biting his ears and face before Hillbilly Jim and Joe Kopasz drag Necro Butcher off of Luke and hurl him out of the ring. The enormous security guard in the dark suit appears and ushers Necro Butcher out of the ring area. BOBBY HEENAN dashes into the ring to tend to Cousin Luke.Heenan: Luke! Sir! Are you all right? Luke staggers to his feet. He is bleeding from the forehead, thanks to a nasty gash opened by Necro Butcher. Blood runs down onto his tuxedo, staining his white shirt.Heenan: Oh my word! Your suit! That barbarian ruined your brand new tuxedo! Luke: I ain't worried 'bout no fancy duds, Mr. Bobby. I wanna get my hands on that low-down varmint! Luke angrily takes off his jacket and throws it onto the mat. He rips off his bloody shirt, and uses it to wipe the blood off his face and forehead. He holds the bloody shirt over his head and points at the entry way as the fans cheer him on to the chants of "LUKE LUKE LUKE!"JR: Fans, what a strange turn of events! Cousin Luke is the Heartland's benefactor! And now, he is hot on the tail of the Necro Butcher! Believe you me, we'll have that match booked faster than a jackrabbit! Heenan: JR, are you speaking hillbilly now? JR: Let's get back to some scufflin'! BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONG vs. ANGELO MOSCA & THE MOUNTIEAfter a competitive match-up, Mosca took control on Bob Armstrong. After overpowering Bob and leveling him with a football tackle, Mosca demolished him with a Big Nasty Elbow Drop and pinned him cleanly. WINNERS: ANGELO MOSCA & THE MOUNTIE(Mosca pinned Bob Armstrong after the Big Nasty Elbow Drop)JR: A fine victory for the Canadians. Is it just me, or does this Mountie character always seem to find a 300-pound gorilla to hide behind? HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN vs. TAKESHI MORISHIMAThe brawl between these two mammoths was as wild as expected! Duggan floored Takeshi with a Tough Guy Clothesline, but Morishima was able to kick out. Morishima responded with a lariat of his own, which nearly turned Hacksaw inside out! The carnage soon spilled out of the ring, where the big men exchanged hay makers and forearms. As the action intensified, Morishima lost his cool and rammed Duggan head first onto the steel railing! Duggan was stunned, and Joe Kopasz was forced to call for the disqualification. After the decision, Duggan finally stormed to his feet and charged after Morishima! The brawl continued all over the Gym Club with neither man gaining the upper hand. Finally, DELIRIOUS came to ringside and managed to calm his partner. Duggan was amused and confused at the babbling of the masked man, scratching his head and furrowing his brow as Morishima and Delirious left the ring together.WINNER: HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN(Morishima disqualified after slamming Duggan headfirst onto the steel railing)JR: Now that was quite a brawl! No question, these two hombres are as tough as they come. If anything, they both seemed to have a good time duking it out! Our next contest will be a rematch from the tag team championship tournament. The upstart team who call themselves the HIGH ROLLERS, DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE and PLAYBOY BUDDY ROSE, surprised more than a few observers by making it all the way to the semifinals before losing to the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS. Let's hear from Playboy Buddy Rose, who is backstage with the Legend Himself, our own "Wildman" Butch Michaels. Wildman: Thank you, JR. Boy, I sure do miss the good old days back at Belmont High School! I am here tonight with Playboy Buddy Rose, a man who has scored some great wins right here in Dayton. Buddy, you and DDP had a great run in the tag team tournament. Do you think you good fortune can continue? Rose: Butch, my man, you better believe our success can- and WILL- continue! People want to take us lightly, but me and DDP will be rolling all the way to the belts! A voice emerges from off camera. LARRY ZBYSZKO arrives on the scene.Zbyszko: Excuse me! Excuse me! Did I overhear fat boy here talking about the tag team championships? I don't think so, Snake-Eyes. Larry Zbyszko and Ox Baker are next in line for a title match. Rose: Whatever. You only got that match because your manager owns the company. You're nothing but a whining little daddy's boy. We're going after those belts- and we're gonna EARN them- in the ring! Another voice emanates from off-camera. JIM CORNETTE and the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS arrive. Cornette: Blah, blah, blah, blah blah! This tag team division belongs to my Midnight Express! This team was one cheap shot away from winning the tournament. But you're not gonna hear us whine! We're gonna put away the Low-Lifes tonight. Then, it doesn't matter if it's the Outlaws, or you, Zbyszko, the Midnights are taking back the gold! Rose: Low Lifes? You're one to talk. We're gonna show Eaton and Condrey what real toughness is about! And Cornette, you come anywhere NEAR the ring with that tennis racket tonight, and I will personnally stick that thing- As Rose screams at Cornette, BOBBY EATON steps in front of his manager. Eaton and Rose go nose-to-nose, scowling, until Rose rears back and cold-cocks Eaton! Bobby drops to the floor, then gets up and lunges at Rose. Cornette rears back with his racket, but Zbyszko grabs the racket in its backswing and yanks it away! Soon, all four men are brawling around backstage, until the ever-present security man turns up to settle the combatants and usher Cornette and the Midnights to the ring.JR: Just in time! You never know where BIG JIM, THE ENFORCER is going to turn up. But you always know that wherever the action is, Big Jim is bound to be close by! THE HIGH ROLLERS (DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE & PLAYBOY BUDDY ROSE) vs. THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (BOBBY EATON & DENNIS CONDREY w/ JIM CORNETTE)The Rollers and the Midnights took their collective frustrations to the ring, where they proceeded to beat each other senseless. Page and Condrey traded some heavy duty punishment, with Cornette getting a few gratuitous shots on DDP as well. Page was in trouble, and the Midnights smelled blood. A pair of crisp suplexes executed by Condrey sent Page crashing onto Eaton's knee, leaving DDP in agony. Page finally tagged out to Rose, but the Midnights remained in control. Rose fell victim to the Veg-O-Matic in short order for the pinfall victory. WINNERS: THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS(Eaton pinned Rose after the Veg-O-Matic)JR: Another big win for the Midnight Express! Cornette and his men are now 2-0 against Rose and Page. But I don't think we've seen the last of this situation. There remains a lot of bad blood between these teams, no question about it! THE DESTROYER vs. DON LEO JONATHANDestroyer had the giant Mormon scouted well for this bout, keeping him off-balance with a series of counters. But the masked man could only avoid Jonathan's power for a short time, before Don Leo caught him and powered him over with a thunderous atomic drop. Destroyer was shaken, and Jonathan was relentless, catching him with the Mormon Swing and forcing a submission for a decisive ending to a competitive and highly entertaining match. WINNER: DON LEO JONATHAN(Destroyer forced to submit to the Mormon Swing)JR: What a display of power by Don Leo Jonathan! After a long and grueling match, the big Mormon comes out on top in tonight's main event. That concludes another fine card of Heartland wrestling action, fans, and a most interesting night it has been. Our thanks, again, to COUSIN LUKE for making this night possible. We'll be back on Thursday night with another exciting card of action- on the eve of Galacticon 2008! Our main event will be an ENORMOUS bout between two Heartland powerhouses as OX BAKER throws down against STEVE "DR. DEATH" WILLIAMS! Until then, fans, so long from the Buckeye State!

NWA Heartland Card #146 Dayton Gym Club, Dayton, Ohio July 14, 2008 The show opens with JR JAMES in the ring, holding a microphone. A crowd of nearly 200 people is present in the antiquated Gym Club, but the arena is abuzz with the new lighting and the NWA Heartland Banner strewn proudly over the ring.JR: Good evening, fans, and welcome to NWA Heartland Wrestling! We are proud to enter round two of our Heavyweight Championship tournament tonight. Let's get the action started! (Tonight's referee: Joe Kopasz)PEPPER GOMEZ vs. UNCLE ELMERThe biggest of all Hillbillies simply overpowered Gomez and squashed him with a Hillbilly Splash. WINNER: UNCLE ELMER(Elmer pinned Gomez after a Hillbilly Splash)JR: That's one enormous man! Tipping the scales at 484 pounds, he was over twice the size of his opponent! TOM PRICHARD vs. "THE PSYCHO SHOOTER" DRAKE YOUNGERThe crafty Prichard controlled much of this match, and nearly put away Younger with a hard punch after wrapping his fist in a small chain. But Younger recovered in time to lift his knees as Prichard tried a deathjump, stunning his opponent long enough to set up the Drake's Landing Vertebreaker abd score the pinfall. WINNER: DRAKE YOUNGER(Younger pinned Prichard after the Drake's Landing)JR: Younger is one of the "Rejects" who didn't get a contract from Mr. Cornette, but he certainly showed some ability and a fine finishing manuever in that match! THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (BOBBY EATON & DENNIS CONDREY w/ JIM CORNETTE) vs. THE FABULOUS KANGAROOS (AL COSTELLO & ROY HEFFERNAN w/ WILD RED BERRY)In a matchup for the ages, the Kangaroos outfoxed the Midnights! Condrey absorbed a significant amount of punishment, and was nearly pinned in the early stages were it not for the distracting tactics of Jim Cornette. Condrey managed to escape his predicament and tag Eaton, but timely interference by Wild Red Berry kept the match in the Aussies' favor. Roy Heffernan was able to set up Eaton and deliver a vicious Boomerang! Heffernan made the cover as Costello intercepted Dennis Condrey and referee Kopasz made the three-count. WINNERS: THE FABULOUS KANGAROOS(Heffernan pinned Eaton after a Boomerang)JR: Congratulations to the Fabulous Kangaroos! This team won the Legends of Wrestling Tag Team Tournament at Galacticon 2008, and the winning ways continue for Costello and Heffernan here in Dayton tonight. HEARTLAND HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT: ROUND 2 JIMMY "SUPERFLY" SNUKA vs. "THE ANARCHIST" ARIK CANNONAfter a chaotic match, it was the Superfly who came out victorious over the Anarchist. The match was more competitive than expected, as Cannon brawled and pummeled Snuka, but the Superfly chopped Cannon to the mat with a powerful knife-edge and took charge. Snuka whipped Cannon to the corner, but Cannon dodged his flying leap and referee Joe Kopasz was caught in the crossfire! When Kopasz went down, the match broke down to a full-out brawl on the arena floor. Snuka launched himself onto Cannon from the ring apron and both men went down in a heap. Snuka recovered first, and rolled Cannon back into the ring. Jimmy went to the top rope and soared, nailing Cannon with the Superfly Leap, but there was no referee to count the pin! Snuka hollered back to the dressing room, and BIG JIM THE ENFORCER hustled to the ring in his dark suit. Snuka lifted Cannon into the air and dropped him hard across his knee in a backbreaker. Snuka then covered him and Big Jim counted the pin! WINNER: JIMMY "SUPERFLY" SNUKA(Snuka pinned Cannon after a backbreaker)As Big Jim went to check on Joe Kopasz, BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN trotted down to ringside. Heenan helped Cannon to his feet, then marched to the announce table and took the microphone.Heenan: What's going on here? JR: Snuka is your winner, by pinfall. Heenan: Says who? JR: Big Jim counted the pinfall! Heenan: This guy? He's not an official official! JR: So? Arik Cannon is not an official wrestler! Big Jim is part of the Heartland security team. He's authorized to act in whatever capacity is needed to maintain civility at Heartland events. Heenan moves to Big Jim and points his finger, poking the Enforcer in the chest. Heenan: Listen, goofball, you're no referee. You're just an entry-level, minimum wage ham-and-egger, hired by me, to do a job. If I see you out here again, getting involved in a Heartland match, I will fire you on the spot! Big Jim stands motionless, towering over Heenan with his arms folded across his chest as the Brain rants. Suddenly, a folksy barn dance tune plays, and COUSIN LUKE strolls to the announce table. Luke: Hiya, Mr. Brain! Hello, JJ! How y'all doin'? Heenan: Lousy! My buddy Cannonball here just got screwed out of his match. Luke laughs.Luke: C'mon now, Mr. Brain! Ol' Big Jim don't say much, but he is honest as the day is long. He done the right thing! If my buddy Jim counts, it counts! Luke takes the arm of Snuka and raises it in the air. The crowd cheers as Heenan buries his face in his hands.JR: No question, fans. Money talks! Jimmy Snuka is your winner. And I'm pleased to report that Referee Joe Kopasz has made it back to his feet. He is a professional, and he'll be back in action for our next match! HEARTLAND HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT: ROUND 2 "LIGHTNING" MIKE QUACKENBUSH vs. DON LEO JONATHANBeating UNCLE ELMER was certainly a feather in Quackenbush's cap, but this match was entirely different. The giant Mormon dominated the match from the outset, tossing Quackenbush around the ring like a sack of potatoes. It didn't take long for Jonathan to soften up Quackenbush and finish him with the vaunted Mormon Swing. WINNER: DON LEO JONATHAN(Jonathan forced Quackenbush to submit with the Mormon Swing)JR: Jonathan is a dangerous man indeed! Indeed, there is no question that he is a threat to win this tournament. And now, fans, it is on to the main event, as our good friend Cousin Luke goes to battle against that "Ugly Feller", the NECRO BUTCHER. Before we see that match, the Legend Himself, "WILDMAN" BUTCH MICHAELS, has a video clip of the confrontation between these two men which led to tonight's grudge match. Footage is played from the July 7 Dayton Gym Club show. BOBBY HEENAN dashes into the ring to tend to Cousin Luke. Heenan: Luke! Sir! Are you all right? Luke staggers to his feet. He is bleeding from the forehead, thanks to a nasty gash opened by Necro Butcher. Blood runs down onto his tuxedo, staining his white shirt. Heenan: Oh my word! He holds the bloody shirt over his head and points at the entry way as the fans cheer him on to the chants of "LUKE LUKE LUKE!"GRUDGE MATCH: NO DISQUALIFICATION COUSIN LUKE vs. NECRO BUTCHERThe brawl between these two mountain men was expected to be ugly, and it did not disappoint! With the fans cheering wildly, Cousin Luke launched himself at Necro, dropping him with a mule kick and stomping him furiously. But Necro has been in a few fights in his day, and refused to back down. The Butcher hurled Luke out of the ring and choked him down with an electrical cord. Once again, he chewed open the forehead of Cousin Luke until he bled profusely. Necro then hurled Luke back into the ring and drilled him with an Asiatic Spike. At this point, Luke was beaten badly, and was no match for Necro's Tiger Driver which ended the match. Following the match, Necro Butcher continued to pummel the downed Luke. In an instant, MIKE QUACKENBUSH, SCOTTY VORTEKZ, and DUSTIN LEE dashed into the ring to confront Necro! Close behind came the other Rejects, ARIK CANNON and DRAKE YOUNGER. A hellacious brawl followed, highlighted when Necro grabbed a steel chair and went after Scotty Vortekz! But Vortekz didn't back down, lunging at Necro and spearing him to the mat before the Butcher could deliver the chair shot. Necro and Scotty went after each other, fists and fire, in a fierce battle which spilled throughout the Gym Club. Long after the other four men had ceased their hostilities, Vortekz and Butcher remained in a death grip on each other. Finally, Big Jim the Enforcer made his way to the ring and separated the combatants, shoving Necro out of the ring and wrapping up Scotty in a bear hug in the ring until cooler heads prevailed.WINNER: NECRO BUTCHER(Butcher pinned Luke after a Tiger Driver)JR: Amazing! Wherever this Necro Butcher goes, trouble follows! I thought he and Scotty Vortekz were going to tear this building down from the foundation! Thank heavens that Big Jim was on hand to get that situation under control. Somehow, I don't think we've seen the end of that rivalry! Not only is Necro an unpredictable maniac, but Vortekz is not afraid to mix it up himself. We'll see Scotty in our main event on Friday night as he takes on ARIK CANNON in a no-disqualification showdown! We'll also see a classic showdown in the Heartland Heavyweight Championship tournament as former DWA Heavyweight Champions BOBO BRAZIL and JOHNNY VALENTINE face off in a match you won't want to miss! Until then, fans, so long from the Buckeye State!

NWA Heartland Card #147 Dayton Gym Club, Dayton, Ohio July 18, 2008 The show opens with JR JAMES in the ring, accompanied by COUSIN LUKE. BIG JIM, THE ENFORCER stands behind Luke and JR in a dark suit and sunglasses, arms folded across his chest, expressionless. A crowd of about 200 people fills the club as JR addresses the audience.JR: Good evening, fans, and welcome to another exciting edition of NWA Heartland Wrestling. We're proud to be back live at the Dayton Gym Club for tonight's matches! Before tonight's opening contest, my good friend and Heartland benefactor COUSIN LUKE has asked for time to address a situation which took place on Monday night. Luke, my friend, that was a rough match you had against NECRO BUTCHER, and he's not even an official member of the Heartland roster! What is your reaction to that match? Luke: Well, JJ, I ain't so much worried 'bout that. 'Ol Luke has taken a whoopin' before and come back for more. I'll git the best of that Butcher before it's all said and done. What I wanna talk about tonight is what happened to our referee Joe Kopasz. Poor Joe got himself a pretty good lick! I just wanna wish Joe the best and give him tonight off. JR: Well, we all admire Joe Kopasz for the work he does, but we don't have any other referees on the payroll! Heartland Senior Referee JOE KOPASZ strides to the ring. He has a bandage on his forehead and his left arm is in a sling.Kopasz: Thank you, Mr. Luke, but I'm good. I have tonight's matches covered. Luke: Well look at you, little Joe! You look like you been rode hard and hung out wet! You're in no shape to referee tonight! Kopasz: Don't worry about me, sir. It only takes one arm to count a pinfall. Luke laughs out loud. He grins broadly and slaps Kopasz on the back. Joe winces as Luke turns to JR.Luke: See, JJ, that's what I love about this guy. He's a gamer! But y'all need more than one referee to control this bunch. Let's hire another one! How about that cute little ol' blond gal that used to be a referee here? JR: Heather Owens? She got married and retired. A commotion arises backstage as BOBBY HEENAN marches to the ring, accompanied by DANNY DAVIS.Heenan: Luke, sir, do you need a new referee? I've got just the guy for you! Cousin Luke, meet Danny Davis. Luke: Pleased to meet you, Mr. Davis, sir. Now get out. Heenan: Get out? Luke: I seen this feller referee before, Bobby. He's crooked as a three-dollar bill. We don't need his kind around here. Now GIT! Davis rolls his eyes and leaves the ring. As he parts the curtain, we see JIM CORNETTE emerge, accompanied by TIM DONAGHY.Cornette: Luke! I got your guy right here! He's an experienced referee on the world's greatest stage. Say hello to Tim Donaghy! Luke: An NBA referee? Brother, you got yourself a job! Luke reaches to shake the hand of Donaghy, but the referee is suddenly interrupted by the ringing of his cell phone. He takes the call, then quickly reaches into his pocket for a pad and pencil and begins scribbling notes. Donaghy puts his hand over his phone and glances at Cornette.Donaghy: Um, sorry Mr. Cornette, something just came up. I'll get back to you on your offer. Donaghy scurries out of the Gym Club.JR: Well, I guess that's strike three. Kopasz: JR? How about Brady Boone? He did an excellent job last time through. JR: Good thinking, Joe! Wanna give him a call? Kopasz: I'll get right on it, sir. He'll be here in ten minutes! Luke: Good job, buddy! JJ, you were right about this Kopasz feller, he's a pro! JR: No question about that! Now, let's get to tonight's matches. (Tonight's referee: Brady Boone)TONY ATLAS vs. NECRO BUTCHERIn a very entertaining, back-and-forth battle, Atlas and Necro pounded each other mercilessly. Atlas dominated the early stages of the contest, overpowering Necro. But the Butcher managed to force the action to the outside, where he clobbered Mr. USA repeatedly with headbutts and the Asiatic Spike. But Necro was unable to finish Atlas, and Brady Boone managed to corral the match back into the ring. Atlas again took control, stunning Necro with a skullcrusher and powering him down with a Gorilla Slam to record the victory. WINNER: TONY ATLAS(Atlas pinned Necro Butcher after a Gorilla Slam)JR: What a fine match for Tony Atlas! For a while, I thought we would never see him again. Necro Butcher is a vicious man when the match breaks down, indeed. But Atlas managed to regain control of the pace of the match, and use his power to defeat the maniac. THE HIGH ROLLERS (DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE & PLAYBOY BUDDY ROSE) vs. THE FOREIGN LEGION (IRON SHEIK & NIKOLAI VOLKOFF w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV)In a rematch from the tag team tournament, the Rollers once again took the measure of Volkoff and the Sheik! The foreigners held the advantage early, as Volkoff punished DDP. Page finally got the tag, but Volkoff immediately hurled him out of the ring. As Nikolai pursued him, Rose tossed a steel chair into his path, stunning the big Russian. Uncharacteristically, Brady Boone allowed the match to continue. Nikita Breznikov was incensed, angrily confronting Boone. But the confrontation didn't help, as Rose and Page took advantage, hitting Volkoff with a double-team Russian Leg Sweep. As Boone returned to the ring, Rose cut off the Sheik and allowed Page to score the pinfall. WINNERS: THE HIGH ROLLERS(Page pinned Volkoff after a double-team Russian Leg Sweep)JR: The High Rollers have done it again! Volkoff and the Iron Sheik are now 0-2 against the free-spirited American duo. No question, I am as surprised as anyone. Anyone, except Nikita Breznikov! OX BAKER (w/ BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN) vs. TITO SANTANAA major upset! Santana dodged and weaved, avoiding the power moves of the big Ox. Tito unleashed a barrage of dropkicks, finally putting the big man down to the mat. Santana immediately went to the figure-4, and it appeared Ox was about to tap out! But Bobby Heenan managed to assist Baker to grab the bottom rope and break the hold. Undaunted, Tito went to the ropes and slammed the injured Baker to the canvas with a flying crossbody block to catch the duke! WINNER: TITO SANTANA(Santana pinned Baker after a Flying Crossbody Block)JR: Amazing! Who would have expected Santana to beat big Ox Baker? Just last week, Tito almost got his head handed to him by Bruiser Brody. Perhaps Bobby Heenan should have been scouting that match a little more closely. But indeed, tonight your winner is Tito Santana! It appears that Baker is hobbled a bit as he leaves the ring. He appears to be favoring his left leg, most likely the result of the figure-4 leglock. Bobby Heenan is taking him back to the trainers' room for a look at that knee. THE KILLER BEES (B. BRIAN BLAIR & JIM BRUNZELL) vs. TEAM CANADA (THE MOUNTIE & ANGELO MOSCA)Once again, the match was dominated by the power of Mosca! Big Angelo dominated both of the Bees, who resorted to frequent tags to maintain their energy. Mosca nearly took Brunzell's head off with a running clothesline! But Blair tagged in, and a winded Mosca brought Mountie into the match. Mountie caught Blair with the Short Choke Slam for a two-count. Blair escaped the cover and headed to the floor, where Mountie pursued him. Frustrated over his inability to finish Blair, Mountie zapped him with the Shock Stick and Brady Boone immediately called for the disqualification. Still not satisfied, Mountie activated a second shock to the fallen Blair! Blair collapsed on the floor, forcing Boone to come to his aid. Brunzell jumped onto his partner to protect him as Boone escorted Mountie back to the locker room.WINNERS: THE KILLER BEES (Mountie disqualified for using the Shock Stick on Blair)JR: What got into this Mountie? No question, he is unpredictable, and I daresay a little unbalanced. The Canadians had that match well in hand before Mountie lost his head and got his team disqualified. Now, let's move ahead to the second round matches in the Heavyweight Championship tournament! HEARTLAND HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: ROUND 2 RAY "THE CRIPPLER" STEVENS (w/ BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN) vs. HACKSAW JIM DUGGANStevens caught fire in this match, taking Duggan down at the opening bell and wailing on him relentlessly. Duggan never really managed to get anything going, and Stevens put him away after two Bombs Away. WINNER: RAY "THE CRIPPLER" STEVENS(Stevens pinned Duggan after the Bombs Away)JR: I honestly expected a much more competitive match in that situation, no question. But Stevens got the drop on Hacksaw and that was all she wrote. This next match promises to be a very competitive bout between two very capable individuals. Oh, and fans, I have just learned that those two individuals are brawling in the back stage area! Wildman Butch Michaels, what's going on? Butch: JR, these two are beating each other senseless! Bobo came after Johnny back here, but Valentine came out fighting and we now have a pier-six brawl! My good friend, Senior Referee Joe Kopasz, along with Big Jim the Enforcer seem to have this situation under control. Both these guys are a little worse for the wear, but both are determined to get the better of this next match! JR: Thanks, Butch! You know, we really ought to try and get another camera. Wildman is a fine broadcaster, but the verbal descriptions probably didn't do that situation justice. Bobo has been known to stir things up backstage, but indeed Johnny Valentine is a man who takes a step back from no one! Both men are in the ring now. It looks like Valentine's right eye is swollen, but Bobo seems to be favoring the left side of his rib cage, so Johnny must have gotten in a few good shots of his own. Now, let's see the real action! HEARTLAND HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: ROUND 2 JOHNNY VALENTINE vs. BOBO BRAZIL (w/ SLICK)The hostilities continued to boil over even as the match got under way. Valentine seemed to have the edge for much of the early going, trapping Bobo in a vicious abdominal stretch to punish the injured ribs. Valentine nailed Brazil with the Atomic Skullcrusher and caught a near fall! Bobo took a powder, but Valentine followed. Still enraged about the brawl backstage, Valentine took Bobo by the back of the head and smashed him onto the announcers' table! Brady Boone immediately called for the bell and disqualified Valentine for the blatant infraction. WINNER: BOBO BRAZIL(Valentine disqualified for outside the ring attack)JR: What a disappointing match. As a wrestling purist, I was looking forward to that contest, no question about that. But Mr. Brazil, I believe, managed to get under Johnny's skin and in the end, that was his undoing. So, Brazil moves ahead in the tournament along with Ray Stevens tonight! And finally, we will finish the show with a match that is NOT for the wrestling purist. The young fellows from the indy circuit, who were signed by Jim Cornette, have drawn the ire of some of their compadres who were not as fortunate. Cornette's guys have taken to calling themselves, " THE INDEPENDENT ICONS", mainly as a dig on the so-called " REJECTS". And tonight, we will see the latest in a series of angry confrontations between these factions as SCOTTY VORTEKZ, representing the Icons, squares off in a no-disqualification match against ARIK CANNON.GRUDGE MATCH: NO DISQUALIFICATION ARIK CANNON vs. SCOTTY VORTEKZThese bitter rivals went all out! The match began with Scotty in control, unleashing an athletic array of dropkicks and flying scissors. But when Scotty went for a monkey flip in the corner, Cannon reversed the tables and planted him with an awesome Exploder! The match turned at this point, as the power of Cannon took control. Cannon took the match to the floor, brutally pounding on Vortekz and turning him upside down with a vicious running clothesline. Fully in control, Arik threw Vortekz back into the ring and began pounding him brutally into the canvas. But Scotty rallied and battled back to his feet, managing to hurl Cannon out of the ring. Sensing his last opportunity, Scotty took to the air, attempting a springboard clothesline onto the arena floor. But Cannon was prepared, and ducked away, leaving Scotty to smash awkwardly onto the security rail. Cannon rolled back into the ring, but Vortekz was unable to recover before the ten-count. WINNER: ARIK CANNON(Countout)Following the match, DUSTIN LEE dashed to the ring to check on his fallen partner. Lee and Cannon exchanged glares, but no further aggression took place. Dustin was able to help Scotty back to his feet and assist him back to the locker room as the show closed.JR: Indeed, that match was an all-out, pier-six brawl, just as we expected. Scotty Vortekz has proved time and again that he is not afraid to take chances and he will back down from no one. He came out on the short end tonight, but he still has one NECRO BUTCHER in his sights and you had better believe that will be one violent confrontation. Fans, we thank you for joining us tonight for NWA Heartland Wrestling. We'll be back on Monday night with the conclusion of round two of the Heartland Heavyweight Championship Tournament. We'll see two exciting matches from that tournament as HILLBILLY JIM takes on "DR. DEATH" STEVE WILLIAMS, and L ARRY ZBYSZKO tests his mettle against the powerful BRUISER BRODY. Until then, fans, so long from the Buckeye State! cotg.proboards12.com/index.cgi?board=lowcards&action=display&thread=1160019897

NWA Heartland Card #148 Dayton Gym Club, Dayton, Ohio July 21, 2008 The show opens with JR JAMES in the ring, accompanied by COUSIN LUKE. A crowd of nearly 200 people fills the Gym Club, and the energy level is high as JR addresses the crowd.JR: Good evening, fans, and welcome back to another exciting night of Heartland Wrestling action! I am honored to be here tonight with my good friend and Heartland Wrestling benefactor, Cousin Luke. Thank you, sir, for all the support you have provided in bringing Heartland wrestling back to action! Luke: Think nothing of it, JJ! What's goin' on tonight? JR: I'm glad you asked, Luke. We have two big matches in the Heartland Heavyweight Championship tournament! Your own kin, HILLBILLY JIM, is set to face "DR. DEATH" STEVE WILLIAMS! And in our main event, LARRY ZBYSZKO will face BRUISER BRODY! What are your thoughts about those matches? Luke: My cousin Jim has a rough row to hoe tonight, JJ! JR: That remains to be seen, Luke. Let's head to the ring! (Tonight's referee: Joe Kopasz)FRITZ von GOERING (w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV) vs. THE DESTROYERFritz took the early advantage, outmanuevering Destroyer and nearly forcing him to submit to a backbreaker. But Destroyer fought back, taking the match out of the ring and punishing von Goering. Nikita Breznikov tried to interfere on behalf of his man, but Destroyer hurled Fritz back into the ring and continued the onslaught. When Destroyer trapped von Goering in a single-leg Boston Crab, Breznikov jumped onto the ring apron and accosted Joe Kopasz! Kopasz would hear none of it, and EJECTED Brenikov from ringside! Destroyer kept his focus, wrapping Fritz into the figure-4 in the center if the ring and forcing his submission. WINNER: THE DESTROYER(Submission via Figure-4 leglock)JR: Destroyer looked great in that match! He lost the shot at the Heartland Title in a rugged battle against DON LEO JONATHAN, but you can bet that he will have his name back in contention before much longer. THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS (SCOTTY VORTEKZ & DIEHARD DUSTIN LEE) vs. BOB & BRAD ARMSTRONGThe Armstrongs handled the Dragons with little difficulty. Dustin Lee was isolated and roughed up pretty badly, but finally managed to tag in Vortekz. With his partner incapacitated, Scotty found himself at the mercy of both Armstrongs. Vortekz fought gamely before eventually succumbing to the Bob Armstrong sleeper. WINNERS: THE ARMSTRONGS(Bob Armstrong knocked out Scotty Vortekz with a sleeper hold)JR: A fine victory for the father-son combination of the Armstrongs. Indeed, there is a great deal of tradition represented by that duo. The Dragons fought hard, no question, and it is my considered opinion that the future remains bright for those young men. DELIRIOUS vs. TAKESHI MORISHIMAIn a battle of former rivals turned tag team partners, Morishima took no mercy and dominated his friend. In desperation, Delirious went for a slingshot plancha, but Morishima had it scouted. The giant Japanese cleverly sidestepped his flying opponent, and Delirious crashed hard to the arena floor. From there, a single Saito Suplex finished the match for the big man. WINNER: TAKESHI MORISHIMA(Via pinfall after a Saito Suplex)JR: The rivalry between these two continues! There was no quarter given in that match, and neither competitor would have it any other way. SPECIAL CHALLENGE MATCH "BEAUTIFUL" BOBBY EATON (w/ JIM CORNETTE) vs. "PLAYBOY" BUDDY ROSEEaton and Rose took up the heat where they left off, battling tooth and nail. A miscalculation by Cornette nearly cost Eaton, as he missed with his tennis racket. Rose clotheslined Cornette off the apron, then turned and speared a confused Eaton to the canvas. The move put Rose firmly in control of the bout, but the resilient Eaton battled back and got back to his feet. It was Rose who made the last mistake, missing Eaton with a charge to the turnbuckle, allowing Beautiful Bobby to roll him up for a surprise pin! WINNER: "BEAUTIFUL" BOBBY EATON(Eaton pinned Rose after a failed turnbuckle splash)JR: This fellow Bobby Eaton is a winner, no question! The intensity of this matchup was palpable, and I don't think the Rollers and the Midnights are quite finished yet! Now let's head to the final two matches of Round Two of the Heartland Heavyweight Championship Tournament! HEARTLAND HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT: ROUND 2 HILLBILLY JIM vs. "DR. DEATH" STEVE WILLIAMSDr. Death was never really threatened in this match. Although Hillbilly Jim is one of the few men whose strength is on par with Williams', Jim could not match his intensity nor his aggression. Jim managed to survive an Oklahoma Stampede, but Williams blasted him from out of nowhere with a standing dropkick for a stunning pinfall! WINNER: "DR. DEATH" STEVE WILLIAMS(Williams pinned Jim after a Standing Dropkick)JR: Wow! Dr. Death is an explosive wrestler! He is a major threat to bring home the gold. The action in this tournament is heating up! Now, let's look at the final match of round 2! HEARTLAND HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT: ROUND 2 BRUISER BRODY vs. LARRY ZBYSZKO (w/ BOBBY HEENAN)Mayhem in the Main Event! Zbyszko did his best to stall and to slow the pace of the match, but the fury and the power of Brody was too much. Once Brody caught Zbyszko, the pummeling started. Zbyszko took a powder, and Heenan got involved. The Brain jumped on the back of Brody in the ring, and Brody slammed him viciously to the mat! Heenan was clearly injured, but Zbyszko took advantage of the distraction and caught Brody with a cheap shot from behind! Zbyszko floored Brody with a nunchucks shot to the back of the knee! Zbyszko tried to choke Brody down with the nunchucks, but Brody powered out! Brody turned the tables, ripping the nunchucks away from Zbyszko and blasting him with a vicious shot to the ribs. Zbyszko and Heenan quickly slid from the ring and high-tailed it back to the locker room! WINNER: BRUISER BRODY(Disqualification)JR: What a battle! Larry Zbyszko has bitten of more than he can chew, in my opinion. But he is crafty and I don't think he'll come at this mauler without a plan! And you can bet your bottom dollar, Bobby the Brain Heenan will be part of the plan. Luke, how about that match? Luke: These two need to have a rematch! JR: No question about it. I'm sure their paths will cross again. Luke: A match like that deserves to be on television! JR: Television? Heartland Wrestling has been off the air for months! We're only getting a couple of hundred people at the Gym Club, Luke. With all due respect, we're not ready for television. Luke: Leave that to me, JJ. I got people! JR: You've got people? Luke: I sure do! JR: I believe that when I see it. Fans, you just never know what the Heartland will have in store next. One thing I do know- we'll be back on Friday night with another night of Heartland action! Until then, fans, so long from the Buckeye State!

NWA Heartland Card #149 Dayton Gym Club, Dayton, Ohio July 25, 2008 The show opens with JR JAMES in the ring, accompanied by COUSIN LUKE.JR: Good evening, fans, and welcome to tonight's NWA Heartland show! We are proud to be back here at the Dayton Gym Club with another exciting night of action! This is the 149th regular show in the history of the Heartland. We've also just welcomed our 5000th viewer to the Ingersoll network, so business in the Heartland continues to grow. Luke: 149 shows? That's pretty daggone good, JJ! That's like halfway to 200! JR: No question about that, Luke. And we're planning to make show number 150 something special, for the loyal base of fans who have supported Heartland wrestling, even through some of the tough times. Luke: Good idea, JJ. I have some ideas that might make the special show even specialer! JR: Really? What might make the show specialer? Er- more special? Luke: Just you wait and see, good buddy. Who's fighting tonight? JR: I'm glad you asked! Tonight we'll see the beginning of round 3 of the Heartland Heavyweight Tournament. BRUISER BRODY is going to take on RAY "THE CRIPPLER" STEVENS. We'll also see a special no-disqualification match between "DIEHARD" DUSTIN LEE and "THE PSYCHO SHOOTER" DRAKE YOUNGER as the battle between the Independent Icons and the Rejects rages on! Now, let's head to the ring for tonight's matches. (Tonight's referee: Joe Kopasz)PEPPER GOMEZ vs. FRITZ VON GOERING (w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV)Nikita Breznikov made the difference in this match! Gomez was solidly in control after nearly knocking von Goering old cold with a devastating sleerhold. Pepper attempted to finish off von Goering with a Mexican cradle, but Breznikov jumped onto the ring apron and distracted Joe Kopasz before he could count the pin. After Kopasz argued with Breznikov, the manager slipped a hammer out of his pocket and slid it to von Goering. Fritz nailed Gomez across the shoulder blades, then scooped him up and slammed him down with a backbreaker to finish the victory! WINNER: FRITZ VON GOERING(von Goering pinned Gomez after a backbreaker)JR: Very crafty! You may not agree with the tactics of Nikita Breznikov and his Foreign Legion, but no question his strategy paid off tonight with devastating effectiveness. TITO SANTANA vs. HILLBILLY JIMIn contrast to the ugly opening bout, Santana and Jim put on a competitive and highly sporting contest. Jim appeared to have the advantage after flooring Tito with a big boot, but Santana deftly reversed an attempted knee lift, pulling Jim down with a sunset flip for a surprise pinfall! WINNER: TITO SANTANA(Santana pinned Hillbilly after a Sunset Flip)JR: A fine athletic move by Santana! Indeed, Tito surprised the big hillbilly, and in three seconds the match was over. TEAM CANADA (THE MOUNTIE & ANGELO MOSCA) vs. THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (BOBBY EATON & DENNIS CONDREY w/ JIM CORNETTE)This match broke down from the outset! Before the introductions were completed, PLAYBOY BUDDY ROSE came to ringside and began taunting Beautiful Bobby! Jim Cornette took umbrage and took after Rose with his tennis racket! As Joe Kopasz rang the bell to start the match, Rose dodged Cornette and slid into the ring! Eaton grabbed Cornette's tennis racket and went after Rose, but the Playboy ducked the blow. The racket smacked onto the top rope, and ricocheted directly back into Beautiful Bobby, catching him squarely between the eyes! Eaton staggered around the ring in a daze, where the Mountie caught him and planted him with a Short Choke Slam! Before Condrey or Cornette realized what had happened, Mountie made the cover and Kopasz made the three count! WINNERS: TEAM CANADA(Mountie pinned Eaton after a Short Choke Slam)JR: Oh, my goodness! In all my days, I have never seen such a bizarre turn of events! Just like that, Team Canada is your winner, and the Midnights are yet another step further down the ladder in the tag team division. It's been a tough run for Mr. Cornette, first seeing STAN LANE injured in the tag tournament, and now seeing his Midnights drop yet another decision. ARIK CANNON vs. MIKE QUACKENBUSHIn a highly entertaining and closely matched contest, Cannon and Quackenbush traded the advantage and worked each other intensely. Cannon punished Quack with a pair of Exploder suplexes, but Quackenbush took to the mats and wore down his foe with a one-legged Boston Crab. Cannon reached the bottom rope to break the hold, but then missed with a savate kick. Quackenbush caught Cannon off balance and planted him on the canvas with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker to score the pinfall. WINNER: MIKE QUACKENBUSH(Quackenbush pinned Cannon after a Tilt-a-Whirl backbreaker)JR: I have to admit it, fans, I am impressed! Quackenbush is truly an icon of the independent scene, but Cannon showed a lot of ability and resilience tonight. His reputation was esatablished after a classic bout with Chris Hero which was well-documented on the Internet. I daresay, this "Anarchist" may be the first of the so-called "Rejects" to earn himself a Heartland Contract! These next two, I am not so sure about. GRUDGE MATCH: NO DISQUALIFICATION "DIEHARD" DUSTIN LEE vs. "THE PSYCHO SHOOTER" DRAKE YOUNGERYounger continues to feel betrayed that his old ally Lee was signed to a contract, but Drake was not. Younger came after Lee with a fury, and subdued him in the early going with punches and headbutts leading to a vicious spinebuster slam. But Younger got too aggressive, charging at Lee on the ropes. Dustin cleverly hurled Younger backward, hot-shotting him onto the top rope. From that point, the "Diehard" took control. After stunning Younger with a swinging DDT, Lee went to the Harddrive. It took three tries to put away the Psycho Shooter, but Lee was up to the task and managed to get the job done. WINNER: "DIEHARD" DUSTIN LEE(Lee pinned Younger after the Harddrive)JR: Another very competitive and intense showdown between the Icons and the Rejects. And another win for the Icons! Looks like Mr. Cornette really knew what he was doing when he signed the Dragons and Quackenbush. Now, let's get to the Main Event! HEARTLAND HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT: ROUND 3 BRUISER BRODY vs. RAY "CRIPPLER" STEVENS (w/ BOBBY HEENAN)Brody came to the ring with his left knee taped, following last week's confrontation with LARRY ZBYSZKO. Stevens went after the knee like a shark, kicking low and taking Brody's legs out with a dropkick to the injured leg. Brody responded with a fury, flinging Stevens to the mat and dropping the healthy leg across Stevens' neck! The Crippler was stunned, and powerless to avoid the Jumping Knee Drop which followed. Joe Kopasz counted the pinfall, but Heenan interrupted by puliing Stevens' leg over the bottom rope! But Kopasz wasn't fooled, and immediately called for the DQ. WINNER: BRUISER BRODY(Brody by DQ after Heenan interference)After the disqualification, LARRY ZBYSZKO stormed the ring with his nunchucks and took after Brody! Stevens held Brody by the good loeg, and Zbyszko slammed the injured knee of the Bruiser repeatedly with the nunchucks! Brody did his best to fight back, but the duo of Stevens and Zbyszko was ruthless, ripping the tape off the injured leg and pounding away! Even BIG JIM THE ENFORCER struggled to fight his way past Heenan and assist the fallen Brody. Finally, Zbyszko and Stevens decided their work was done, and departed the ring with Heenan, laughing and scoffing as Brody lay injured on the mat.JR: That is reprehensible! Twice in a row, Heenan's men have attacked Bruiser Brody- with a weapon, for heaven's sake! Brody looks to have some serious damage to that knee. He is your winner, and will move forward in the tournament, but whether he will be able to continue to compete remains to be seen. Brody won the battle, but Heenan may have won the war. Fans, it has been a most disturbing night for the Heartland, but not without hope. The next card will be number 150 in the history of the Heartland, and Cousin Luke has promised to make it a special night. What lies in store? Come back on Monday night and see for yourselves! Until then, fans, so long from the Buckeye State!

NWA Heartland Card #150 Montgomery County Fairgrounds Coliseum, Dayton, Ohio July 28, 2008 The show opens as JR JAMES strides to the ring with COUSIN LUKE. The card is being held in a nicer facility, with the Heartland Logo displayed proudly over the ring. An enthusiastic crowd of about 300 people fills the arena, applauding JR and Luke as they address the crowd.JR: What can I say, Mr. Luke? You've really outdone yourself. The Heartland territory continues to get better, thanks to your support! Luke: Happy to help, JJ. Did you see up there? (Luke points to the rafters.)JR: That's... a TELEVISION CAMERA! Are we on television? Luke: You're darn tootin', JJ. I signed us up for all three networks! JR: Three networks? Heartland has been on the Ingersoll network... and the new Filsinger network... Luke: And now, The Greatest Network in the Galaxy! JR: I don't believe it! Luke: Believe it, JJ, this territory ain't nuttin' if it ain't on SwarmTV. JR: Fans, this is a hallmark day since the return of Heartland Wrestling! We have a loaded show for tonight- Luke: Oh, JJ? I did change some matches tonite, if you don't mind. There's some boys back there that really need to get in the ring and settle some things. JR: Oooooooookay. Are we still having a tag title match? Luke: Oh yes! That'll be our main event! JR: Outstanding! I can't wait to see what else you have in store for us! (Tonight's referee: Joe Kopasz)GRUDGE MATCH: NO DISQUALIFICATION DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE vs. DENNIS CONDREY (w/ JIM CORNETTE)The war between the High Rollers and the Midnight Express continued in the opening bout as Page and Condrey locked horns. Condrey punished Page from the opening bell, with timely interference from Cornette. But seemingly out of nowhere, Page connected with the Diamond Cutter and Condrey was on Dream Street! Cornette managed to distract Joe Kopasz long enough for Condrey to escape the three-count. Condrey fled the ring, but Page followed. Page shoved aside Cornette, and floored Condrey with a vicious right hand! Page slid Condrey back into the ring and dropped him with a second Diamond Cutter and covered him for the victory. Following the match, Cornette got to his feet and climbed back into the ring. Page turned to face him, and BOBBY EATON slippied into the ring from behind and clipped DDP across the left knee! Page went down hard, and Eaton and Condrey immediately went to work. The Midnights knee-dropped the injured leg repeatedly, and Cornette got in a few shots of his own with the tennis racket, leaving Page laying in the ring and clutching his knee as the Midnights laughed and departed together.WINNER: DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE(Page pinned Condrey after a Diamond Cutter)JR: I am disgusted! Three against one? And the co-owner of the company, for that matter? Believe it or not, I thought that Cornette had become the voice of reason in this territory, but no question he has showed his true colors. Our next match will be for the #1 Contenders' position for the Heartland Tag Team Championship! The KILLER BEES will take on THE FABULOUS KANGAROOS for a shot at the belts. Unfortunately, I don't think B. BRIAN BLAIR is at full strength, as the result of an attack by THE MOUNTIE. Before we head back to the ring, let's check in with Wildman Butch Michaels to review some footage of that incident. Footage is played from the Bees- Team Canada matchup from July 18. Brunzell jumped onto his partner to protect him as Boone escorted Mountie back to the locker room.NWA HEARTLAND TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: #1 CONTENDERS' MATCH THE KILLER BEES vs. THE FABULOUS KANGAROOS (AL COSTELLO & ROY HEFFERNAN w/ WILD RED BERRY)With Blair still slowed, Brunzell took it upon himself to carry the load. The Kangaroos controlled the match, tagging frequently and keeping Brunzell isolated. The Aussies flattened Brunzell with the Boomerang and Heffernan covered him before Blair could interfere. WINNERS: THE FABULOUS KANGAROOS(Heffenan pinned Brunzell after the Boomerang)JR: What a shame. I would love to see these two teams hook up with all four men at full strength. But the quest for the gold is all about timing, and tonight it was the Kangaroos who were in the driver's seat. They'll face the winners of tonight's tag team title match for the championship! GRUDGE MATCH: NO DISQUALIFICATION SCOTTY VORTEKZ vs. NECRO BUTCHERScotty opened this grudge match on fire! He pummeled Necro with a flurry of kicks and arm drags, stunning him with an enzuigiri and flooring him with a Cyclone Kick! Necro escaped the ring, but Scotty went to the air and nailed him with a flying clothesline. Necro absorbed a ton of punishment and kept on fighting, but Scotty kept on the offensive and planted him with the Dragonfly to complete the pinfall. WINNER: SCOTTY VORTEKZ(Vortekz pinned Necro after a Dragonfly)JR: Wow! Scotty has never looked better! This guy is fearless, even against the most dangerous men in the Heartland. But rest assured, Necro will be back and it will be brutal! GRUDGE MATCH: NO DISQUALIFICATION BOBO BRAZIL vs. JOHNNY VALENTINEIn a brawl that spanned over 40 minutes and a combined 12 fatigue tokens, Bobo finally prevailed over Valentine with a chair smash outside of the ring! WINNER: BOBO BRAZIL(Brazil pinned Valentine after a Coco Butt)JR: What an epic battle! Neither of those two showed any sign of backing down. They could have gone another hour if Bobo hadn't taken out Johnny with the steel chair. Indeed, either of these men would be a serious threat to the Heartland Heavyweight Championship- if they can get beyond the issue they have with each other! MAIN EVENT: NWA HEARTLAND TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPTHE NEW AGE OUTLAWS (C) vs. OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO (w/ BOBBY HEENAN)Ox Baker was the dominant force in this match! The big Ox dominated both Outlaws, tossing them from pillar to post. After beating down BG, Baker manhandled Kip and put him down for the count with a massive Heart Punch! WINNERS: OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO - NEW HEARTLAND TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS(Baker pinned Kip after a Heart Punch)JR: Oh, my goodness! History has been made right here at the Fairgrounds Coliseum! New tag team champions have been crowned! BOBBY HEENAN is celebrating with his men as they strap on the belts! Ox Baker just DOMINATED that contest. Congratulations to Ox, and to Zbyszko, and yes, to Bobby Heenan. I'm sure we won't hear the end of this when we return on Friday night! Fans, it's been great to be with you hear tonight from our new venue- and great to be back on the air! We'll see you Friday with another action-packed show. Until then, fans, so long from the Buckeye State!

NWA Heartland Card #151 Montgomery County Fairgrounds Coliseum, Dayton, Ohio August 1, 2008 The show opens with JR JAMES standing in the ring with COUSIN LUKE. The Fairgrounds Coliseum is crowded and the atmosphere is electric as JR addresses the crowd.JR: Welcome, fans, to another evening of Heartland Wrestling! It is great to be back, and great to see such a hot crowd tonight! Luke, I have to believe that the return to television and the success of card 150 has generated new enthusiasm around the Heartland. Luke: It sure is fun to see the people enjoy themselves, JJ! JR: It just keeps getting better! Next week, THE ROAD WARRIORS are coming to Heartland to defend the NWA World Tag Team Titles! A commotion arises from backstage as BOBBY HEENAN struts to the ring, accompanied by OX BAKER and LARRY ZBYSZKO, carrying the Heartland Tag Team Championship belts.JR: Ladies and gentlemen, it is indeed my privilege to introduce your newly crowned Heartland Tag Team Champions! Heenan: That's right, JR. But enough of the butt kissing from you. When's our match against the Road Warriors? Luke: Now hold on just a minute, Mr. Heenan. I told you before, if you are the owner of this territory, you can't make your own matches! Heenan: But we're the Tag Team Champions now! We've earned our shot at the World belts! More commotion comes from the back as JIM CORNETTE storms into the ring, with BOBBY EATON and DENNIS CONDREY.Cornette: Now wait just one minute, Heenan! The Midnight Express are former World Tag Team Champions! We deserve that title match! Your punks just won one match, and now you think you deserve the World Titles? Over my dead body! Heenan: Sounds like a good deal to me. Luke: Boys, the way I see it, there are a lot of teams here that deserve a chance to wrestle the Road Warriors. I think we oughta have us a little tournament! JR: A tournament? I think the fans would enjoy that, no question! Luke: It's on! We'll start tonight! Heenan, you bring your boys, Mr. Cornette, you bring yours too. JR: Baker and Zbyszko... against the Midnights? Luke: That's right! And Monday night, we'll put the Kangaroos against the Outlaws. Those winners against these winners to decide who fights the Road Warriors! JR: Brilliant! Mr. Luke, you sure know how to give the fans what they want! Luke: My pleasure, JJ! JR: Let's head to the ring! (Tonight's referee: Brady Boone)NECRO BUTCHER vs. TOM PRICHARDThe Butcher was in control from the opening bell! Necro dropped Prichard with a low blow, followed by a brutal beatdown in the corner. When Prichard tried to escape to the outside, Necro followed and the violent pummeling continued. Butcher brought Prichard back into the ring and delivered an agonizing Asiatic Spike, which put Prichard out of commission and made him eassy prey for the Tiger Driver. WINNER: NECRO BUTCHER(Necro pinned Prichard with the Tiger Driver)JR: Prichard looked to be completely out of his league in that match! If this were a video game, they would call that a "Flawless Victory". HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN vs. THE DESTROYERIn a hard-hitting, back and forth contest, it was the power of Duggan matched against the guile of the Destroyer. Hacksaw took charge of the match in the early going, flattening Destroyer with the Tough Guy Clothesline and nearly pinning him after a Flying Spear! But Destroyer fought his way back, slowing down the match with his grappling prowess and punishing Duggan with a series of suplexes. As the match wore on, suddenly COUSIN LUKE grabbed a microphone and dashed into the ring!Luke: Boys? Y'all are puttin' on a great match! I bet our TV crowd loves to see these kinda matches. What Heartland needs is another championship- a Television Title! And the winner of this match will be the first feller in the tournament to become TV Champion! Inspired, both men battled on! Destroyer was still the worse for wear after Duggan's attacks, but managed to trap Hacksaw in the corner and pound away with a series of body blows. But Destroyer became overly aggressive, charging Duggan at the turnbuckle, only to crash face-first into Hacksaw's raised boot. Duggan then exploded out of the corner with a Flying Spear and put Destroyer down for the three-count! WINNER: "HACKSAW" JIM DUGGAN(Duggan pinned Destroyer after a Flying Spear)JR: How about that? A big win for Hacksaw Duggan, and now the big guy finds himself in contention for the Heartland TV Title! Until tonight, we never knew there was such a thing! UNCLE ELMER vs. JOHNNY VALENTINEThe match started off slowly, as Valentine struggled to solve the massive size of the giant hillbilly. Elmer slowed Valentine with fists and forearms, but really didn't do much damage. A bizarre twist occured when Elmer attmepted to whip Valentine across the ring, but Johnny reversed the whip and Elmer collided hard with Brady Boone As the kindly Elmer tried to assist the fallen referee, THE DESTROYER dashed back into the ring and smashed Elmer across the back with a steel chair! Boone was still groggy as Elmer staggered to the corner in a daze. Valentine appeared confused, but as Boone recovered, Johnny took advantage and laid into Elmer with a mighty forearm blow to the back of the head. Elmer collapsed to the mat, and Valentine covered him to earn the three-count from the still dazed Boone. WINNER: JOHNNY VALENTINE(Valentine pinned Elmer after a Forearm Bludgeon)JR: What on earth just happened there? I have no idea why Detroyer chose to get involved in that situation. It appeared that Johnny Valentine had no idea either, no question. But Valentine took advantage of that situation, and came away the victor. Let's see if Wildman Butch Michaels can catch up with Destroyer and get some sort of an explanation. THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS (SCOTTY VORTEKZ & DIEHARD DUSTIN LEE) vs. THE FOREIGN LEGION (IRON SHEIK & NIKOLAI VOLKOFF w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV)The amazing Scotty Vortekz pulled out another improbable victory in tag team action tonight! The Dragons worked together crisply throughout the match, tagging frequently and keeping their foes on the defensive. Iron Sheik got the best of Dustin, but Lee managed to tag to Scotty. Sheik was a little winded, and Scotty took advantage, putting him on the canvas with a Gut Check. Sheik made the tag to Nikolai, but the big Russian walked right into a Cyclone Kick and Scotty pinned him! WINNERS: THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS(Scotty Vortekz pinned Volkoff after a Cyclone Kick)JR: Unbelievable! Scotty just pinned Nikolai Volkoff! This guy is full of surprises. We've still got two huge matches to go, but before we head back to the ring, let's go backstage and catch up with Wildman Butch Michaels for a conversation with the Destroyer. Wildman: Thank you, JR. I am here with The Destroyer. Sir, we were all surprised when you interfered in the match with Johnny Valentine and Uncle Elmer. What was that all about? Are you teaming up with Valentine? Destroyer: What was that about? Am I teaming with Valentine? Wildman: Was that a stupid question? Destroyer: There are no stupid questions. Only stupid people who ask questions! What I did tonight had nothing to do with Johnny Valentine. I got involved only because I got screwed in my match against Duggan. Wildman: Screwed? Destroyer: You've heard of screwed, right? As many times as you have been divorced? All of the sudden, in the middle of a match, this yahoo Cousin Luke decides it's time to create a new title? A TV title? Let me tell you this, Wildman, I have been in this sport a lot of years and I have whipped a lot of guys. I deserve to be in line for a TV title match, and there's no way I should have too go through a clown like Jim Duggan to get there! Wildman: So why jump on Uncle Elmer? Destroyer: Oh? That was Uncle Elmer? Gees, all these hillbillies look alike. Wildman, it doesn't matter WHICH hillbilly I have to jump on, if that's what it takes to get my due. This Cousin Luke guy runs across some money, and all of the sudden he's in charge? Any knucklehead can sit behind a microphone and make matches. You tell that idiot I want him in the RING! Destroyer walks away in disgust.Wildman: Well, JR, that's the scoop! Back over to you. JR: Thank you, Wildman, for that interview. Luke, will you accept the challenge of The Destroyer? Luke: Yer darn tootin'! If that Destroyer don't like the way I do things, that's his problem. But JJ, I am man enough to face up to any challenge. So Destroyer, man, you got yourself a fight! JR: Wow! I never saw that coming! Looks like Luke and the Destroyer will be hooking up soon. Now, let's head back to the ring for our next match in the Heavyweight Championship tournament! NWA HEARTLAND HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT: ROUND 3 BOBO BRAZIL (w/ SLICK) vs. JIMMY "SUPERFLY" SNUKAAnother stunning conclusion to a big match! Just when it seemed Bobo was about to overpower Snuka, Jimmy came off the ropes and caught an unexpecting Bobo with a devastating chop! It took the Superfly two tries, but he went to the air and nailed Brazil with a pair of his patented leaps and scored a decisive pinfall victory! WINNER: JIMMY "SUPERFLY" SNUKA(Snuka pinned Brazil after the Superfly Leap)JR: Jimmy Snuka is one of the most dynamic men in the history of the sport, and tonight he showed us all why! Snuka is now in the finals of the Heartland Heavyweight Championship Tournament! But he will face a stiff challenge indeed, as the other semifinal match pits two behemoths in DON LEO JONATHAN and "DR. DEATH" STEVE WILLIAMS. We'll see that match on Monday night. But now, let's go to the first qualifying match for the World Tag Team Championship- and a big one as Heartland co-owners BOBBY HEENAN and JIM CORNETTE bring their respective teams in for a confrontation! NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: QUALIFYING MATCH OX BAKER & LARRY ZBYSZKO (w/ BOBBY HEENAN) vs. THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (DENNIS CONDREY & BOBBY EATON w/ JIM CORNETTE)In an epic confrontation, both Cornette and Heenan were at peak intensity. Ox Baker took control of the early phases of the match, and caught Eaton with a devastating Heart Punch! But before Baker could pin Beautiful Bobby, Cornette was on the ring apron and interrupted the count of Brady Boone, allowing the match to continue. Not to be outdone, Heenan got into the act, disrupting Boone from counting a pin after Baker fell victim to a Double Goozle. It looked like trouble for the Midnights when Zbyszko pulled the pad off the turnbuckle and slammed Condrey face-first into the exposed corner, but Eaton managed to make the save. Baker once again took the measure of Beautiful Bobby, dropping him with a clothesline, but Cornette again slid into the ring and swatted Baker from behind. Baker took after Cornette, who scooted out of the ring. When Baker followed, Eaton went to the air, soaring from the top rope with a double axe handle which sent Ox careening into the steel guard rails! Eaton quickly rolled Baker back into the ring, where Condrey positioned him for the Veg-O-Matic. Heenan found himself caught in the fracas outside the ring, and was unable to save his man as Eaton dropped the leg across Baker and covered him for the pin! WINNERS: THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS(Eaton pinned Baker after the Veg-O-Matic)JR: What a move by Bobby Eaton! He threw caution to the wind, no question. Eaton is one of the greatest high flyers of his generation, indeed! And with that, the Midnights move one step closer to a shot at The Road Warriors! Jim Cornette is the happiest man in the Fairgrounds right now as he celebrated with his men. Bobby Heenan is frustrated, but at least Zbyszko and Baker still hold the tag team gold. Luke, I gotta hand it to you, this impromptu tag team tournament was a great idea? Luke: Ummm, sorry JJ, this is an American Tag Team Tournament. JR: Of course, Luke. Well, it certainly has been an exciting night! The Heartland Wrestling scene has picked up since you came along! Luke: You're right about that, good buddy. Lots of great matches around here. You know what this territory needs? JR: What's that, Luke? Luke: Another one of them paper views. JR: Paper views? Luke: Yeah, JJ! A big special rasslin' night, where everybody goes down to the waterin' hole to watch the matches on a big TV. JR: Oh, you mean a pay-per-view! Luke: Yeah, Jimmy, a paper view! I give the waiter a piece of paper, like a five dollar bill, and i git to view the matches! JR: Right. Luke: Heartland used to have them paper views all the time. JR: Of course we did. Heartland Havoc! Luke: Yeah, that's it! Let's have another Heartland Havoc! JR: It has been a while. Luke: I know it has! The last one was Havoc X - V - I - I. What should we call the next one? JR: The last one was number seventeen. I think we should call the next one number eighteen. Luke: How did you know it was seventeen? I thought it was X - V - I - I ? JR: That's a Roman numeral, Luke! Luke: It ain't a number? JR: This is hopeless! Fans, we'll be back on Monday night with our next Heartland show! By then, we'll have this Havoc situation figured out! Until then, fans, so long from the Buckeye State!

NWA Heartland Card #152 Montgomery County Fairgrounds Coliseum, Dayton, Ohio August 4, 2008 The show opens with JR JAMES in the ring, accompanied by COUSIN LUKE. The crowd at the Coliseum is Standing Room Only as JR takes the microphone. JR: What a great crowd we have on hand this evening! Cousin Luke, I have to hand it to you- the more you contribute to the rebuilding of Heartland Wrestling, the more the fans respond! Luke: Why, thank you, JJ! You know, this is our last show before the paper view! JR: Right you are, indeed! Havoc XVIII has been scheduled for this Friday night, August 8, with some great matches in the works! Luke: That's right, Jimmy! We're gonna have the Road Warriors here to fight for the World Tag Team Championships! JR: Against an opponent to be determined. Last Friday night, we saw The Midnight Express duo of BOBBY EATON and DENNIS CONDREY defeat Bobby Heenan's team of OX BAKER and LARRY ZBYSZKO to earn the right to wrestle in the #1 contenders' match. They will face the winners of tonight's main event between THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS and THE FABULOUS KANGAROOS! Also tonight, we'll see a very important match between "DR. DEATH" STEVE WILLIAMS and DON LEO JONATHAN. The winner of that match will take on JIMMY "SUPERFLY" SNUKA at Havoc for the vacant Heartland Heavyweight Championship! Luke: That's not all, JJ. I got two more matches for the paper view! I promised you a Television Champion. The winner of tonight's first match will be in the paper view against HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN for the TV Title. Say, Jimmy, who is in tonight's first match, anyway? JR: That would be DRAKE YOUNGER and TAKESHI MORISHIMA. That's quite a surprise! Until this very moment, neither of them had any idea that a title shot would be on the line! What's the other match you have for us? Luke: Well, JJ, I been watching them there "Rejects", and I think it's just sad. Even though I had a little scuffle with the NECRO BUTCHER, I think these boys deserve a chance to earn themselves some money like the rest of us. So I have invited Necro and ARIK CANNON and DRAKE YOUNGER to have themselves a match against them other three fellers from Independence. JR: You mean MIKE QUACKENBUSH and THE NAPTOWN DRAGONS? The guys from the independent circuit? Luke: Well, cut me up and fry me with the taters, JJ! I never knew they were from the circus! No wonder them boys is always flyin' around! Anyway, if the Rejects can beat the circus guys, I'll give them a contract! JR: How about that! Luke, no question you are a fair man! The Rejects will have their shot at official Heartland contracts this Friday night at Havoc XVIII. Now, let's head to the ring for tonight's opening contest! (Tonight's referee: Brady Boone)TAKESHI MORISHIMA vs. "THE PSYCHO SHOOTER" DRAKE YOUNGERMorishima is the picture of quiet intensity, but tonight he took his game to another level. When Younger tried to incite a brawl outside of the ring, Morishima struck first, nailing the Shooter with a chair as he dove off the ring apron. Younger was stunned, and Morishima took control. After tossing Drake around the ring a few times, Morishima finished him off with the Saito Suplex. WINNER: TAKESHI MORISHIMA(Morishima pinned Younger with a Saito Suplex)JR: A convincing win for the big Japanese mauler. So, it will be Morishima against Hacksaw Jim Duggan at Havoc for the newly created Heartland TV Title! OX BAKER (w/ BOBBY HEENAN) vs. DELIRIOUSIt was full speed ahead for Delirious as the clear underdog in this match. The goofy masked man ran cirlces around Baker, smashing him into the turnbuckle and crashing in with the Panic Attack. Delirious hit the Chemical Imbalance #2 for a near-fall, but Heenan interrupted the count. Baker escaped to the outside, but Delirious went airborn with a suicide tope which wiped out both competitors! Delirious made it to his feet first, and immediately went back to the air. But Baker was ready this time, at Heenan's prompting, ducking away from the suicide dive to send Delirious crashing to the steel security railing. Baker rolled the injured Delirious back into the ring, then planted him on the mat with a Heart Punch for a pinfall. After the decision, Baker scowled and appeared on the verge of another attack, but TAKESHI MORISHIMA rushed back to the ring to pull his partner to safety.WINNER: OX BAKER(Baker pinned Delirious after the Heart Punch)JR: No question, they call this man "Ox" because he is a BEAST! Delirious went down hard, and he is very fortunate that Morishima was on hand to watch his back! TONY ATLAS (w/ SLICK) vs. LARRY ZBYSZKO (w/ BOBBY HEENAN)In a controversial match, Larry Zbyszko got the win over Tony Atlas. Zbyszko controlled the early stages of the match, slamming Atlas to the turnbuckle repeatedly and planting him with a piledriver. But Atlas took a powder, and met with Slick outside the ring for some "strategizing"! Atlas came back to the ring on fire, overpowering Zbyszko and slamming him to the mat! Atlas went to the skullcrusher and Zbyszko was clearly in trouble. Another Gorilla Slam and a cover from Atlas and it appeared that was all she wrote! But Brady Boone was very slow in counting the pinfall, allowing Zbyszko to kick out! Slick was beside himself, but the match continued. Regaining his composure, Zbyszko fought back, trapping Atlas in the abdominal stretch. Heenan lent an assist, grabbing the arm of Zbyszko to increase the pressure as Boone argued with Slick. Atlas fought through the pain, but was easy pickings for a piledriver from Zbyszko and a tainted victory. WINNER: LARRY ZBYSZKO(Zbyszko pinned Atlas after a Piledriver)JR: What a good night for Bobby Heenan! Both his men have come away victorious tonight. Luke: Jimmy, what just happened? JR: Larry Zbyszko just pinned Tony Atlas. Luke: I ain't so sure about that, JJ. I smell a rat! JR: What do you mean? Luke: I ain't so sure that referee made the right count. JR: Brady Boone is as good as they come, Luke! Luke: I ain't so sure he did the right thing tonight, JJ. Do you think Bobby Heenan might have slipped him a bribe? JR: That's my boss you're talking about, Luke. Are you accusing him of illicit activities to influence outcomes? Luke: Of course, not, Jimmy. I just think he bribed the referee! I done bidness with that man before and I don't think he can be trusted. JR: What are you going to do about it? Luke: I'll figure somethin' out, JJ. Don't you worry about it. Luke leaves the broadcast table and heads back to the locker room. JR: That is certainly a strong accusation from Cousin Luke. We'll have to see how this will play out. Fans, I'm afraid that I must announce the cancellation of our next scheduled match. We were originally slated to see THE HIGH ROLLERS square off against THE ARMSTRONGS, but as a result of the injury to DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE, there will be no tag team match tonight. Wildman Butch Michaels has the footage of that situation. Over to you, Butch! Footage is displayed from Card #150 as DDP pins Dennis Condrey after a Diamond Cutter. Following the match, Jim Cornette climbed into the ring. Page turned to face him, and BOBBY EATON slippied into the ring from behind and clipped DDP across the left knee! Page went down hard, and Eaton and Condrey immediately went to work. The Midnights knee-dropped the injured leg repeatedly, and Cornette got in a few shots of his own with the tennis racket, leaving Page laying in the ring and clutching his knee as the Midnights laughed and departed together.JR: My sincere apologies to the fans here tonight. Our best wishes to DDP for a speedy recovery. We hope to see you back in action soon! Now, let's head back to the ring for the next match in the Heartland Heavyweight Championship Tournament! NWA HEARTLAND HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT: ROUND 3 "DR. DEATH" STEVE WILLIAMS vs. DON LEO JONATHANIn a highly anticipated matchup between two of the most powerful men in the Heartland, WIlliams and Jonathan pounded each other from pillar to post. Jonathan got the best of Doc in the early going, but Doc fought back gamely. Seeing his opportunity, Williams put Jonathan down with the Backdrop Driver, not once, but twice, and the tide turned in his favor. Jonathan fought hard, but was not the same after the damage had been done. He survived the Oklahoma Stampede, but Williams pressed on with a pair of Doctor Bombs and finally caught the duke! WINNER: "DR. DEATH" STEVE WILLIAMS(Williams pinned Jonathan after a Doctor Bomb)JR: A huge win for Dr. Death! Williams moves on to the championship match of the tournament. We'll see him take on JIMMY "SUPERFLY" SNUKA for the Heartland Heavyweight Title! Havoc is shaping up to be a LOADED card! And we still have yet to decide the last qualifier for the World Tag Team Championship Challenge. So, let's head back to the ring for the Main Event! NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: QUALIFYING MATCH THE FABULOUS KANGAROOS (AL COSTELLO & ROY HEFFERNAN w/ WILD RED BERRY) vs. THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS (BG & KIP JAMES)The match was long and highly competitive, exceeding the expectations of even the most optimistic observers! The Outlaws used superior teamwork to dominate the match from the outset. Roy Heffernan fell victim to a powerful attack from Kip James, who felled him twice with the Fame-Asser. Heffernan managed to tag out to Costello, who fared no better. Costello found himself on the receiving end of a series of well-executed double-team moves, nearly falling victim to a pinfall. With both Kangaroos wounded and fading, Red Berry knew it was time for action and pulled BG James off the ring apron! BG tumbled to the floor, allowing the Kangaroos to isolate Kip. Kip brought his best shots, but the double-teaming of the Kangaroos was too much. After surviving the Boomerang, Kip fell prey to a cheap shot from Berry from outside the ring! BG was unable to make the save, and Heffernan rolled up Kip for the three-count. WINNERS: THE FABULOUS KANGAROOS(Heffernan pinned Kip after outside interference from Wild Red Berry)JR: Very impressive indeed! No question, the Kangaroos are a finely oiled machine. Their match against the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS will be an instant classic at Heartland Havoc XVIII - not to mention the World Tag Team Champion ROAD WARRIORS waiting in the wings! Heartland is coming back to pay-per-view and it will be an outstanding card! Our thanks to Cousin Luke, who has been the driving force behind the resurgence of the Heartland. Speaking of which... where is Luke? He was headed backstage. Wildman Butch Michaels- any word from Cousin Luke? Before Wildman could respond, the curtain flew open and Cousin Luke tumbled out! Larry Zbyszko followed close behind, pummeling Luke with his fists and stomping him mercilessly. Zbyszko: Who the hell do you think you are! I am a LEGEND in this sport! I win my matches LEGITIMATELY! Don't you come nosing in my business unless you want a trip to Larry Land! As Zbyszko continued to pound on Luke, BOBBY HEENAN rushed to the scene. Heenan quickly interposed himself between Zbyszko and Luke, restraining Zbyszko before he could do any further damage. Luke staggered to his feet, his tuxedo shirt torn and blood streaming from a cut on his forehead. Sneering, he limped over to JR and took the microphone. Luke: JJ, I still think something ain't right. Don't worry about me. I can take a beating. But I ain't finished with this Zbyszko business! Luke wiped the blood from his face and stormed out of the arena.JR: Wow! What an explosive situation! Luke ain't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he does know right from wrong and he won't rest until he sets things right! I guess that's it for tonight- we'll be back on Friday night for the return of Heartland Havoc! Until then, fans, so long from the Buckeye State!

NWA Heartland Havoc XVIII: Return to Glory Hara Arena, Dayton, Ohio August 8, 2008 The show opens with JR JAMES in the center of the ring in a new Heartland Venue! Entrance music plays () as the crowd of several thousand people gathers for the return of Heartland Wrestling to pay-per-view!JR: Wow! What a crowd! It's is great to see so many loyal Heartland Wrestling fans here at Hara Arena, site of some of the legendary wrestling events in the history of Dayton, Ohio! Once again, my hat is off to Cousin Luke who made this all possible! Luke has decided not to appear on stage with me this evening, but he is in the building and will be hosting a special interview later tonight. In the meantime, fans, there are three championships to be decided tonight! First, we'll see the crowning of the first-ever Heartland Television Champion. Then, we'll have the finals of the Heartland Heavyweight Championship Tournament! And finally, the NWA World Tag Team Champions, THE ROAD WARRIORS, will defend their title belts. But first, fans, we must select the team who will challenge the Road Warriors for those belts. That will be determined in tonight's opening contest, so let's head to the ring to get started! (Tonight's referee: Joe Kopasz)NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: #1 CONTENDERS' MATCH THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (DENNIS CONDREY & BOBBY EATON w/ JIM CORNETTE) vs. THE FABULOUS KANGAROOS (ROY HEFFERNAN & AL COSTELLO w/ WILD RED BERRY)The Midnights came out fast and furious, taking over on Roy Heffernan from the opening bell. Cornette involved himself right from the onset, giving an assist to Bobby Eaton to put his team in the drivers' seat. When referee Joe Kopasz took Cornette to task, Condrey took advantage, comng into the ring to assist Eaton with a Double Goozle. This only infuriated Kopasz further, so when Eaton pitched Heffernan out of the ring and rammed him head-first onto the steel security railing, Kopasz called for the bell and disqualified the Midnights. The DQ didn't sit well at all with the Midnights. Cornette immediately went after Joe Kopasz, only to be grabbed by Red Berry and thrown to the floor! The Kangaroos and Midnights got into a hellacious brawl at ringside. As Cornette struggled to his feet, Red Berry began putting the boots to him! Without warning, "SWEET" STAN LANE dashed to the ring and came to Cornette's rescue!JR: Stan Lane is back! Lane has recovered from his injury! The Midnight Express are back at full strength! Lane's return to the ring shifted the momentum of the brawl in favor of the Midnights. Lane flattened Red Berry with a karate kick, then proceeded to help Cornette tie Berry up in the ropes. Cornette went for his tennis racket, preparing to give the defenseless Berry a blow to the head! But before Cornette could strike his blow, THE ROAD WARRIORS sprinted to the ring! Hawk and Animal quickly disarmed Cornette, and all three of the Midnights scrambled for cover.WINNERS: THE FABULOUS KANGAROOS(Bobby Eaton was disqualified for attacking Heffernan outside the ring)JR: Wow! Kopasz really went with a quick trigger on the DQ in that match. I guess after the controversy with Brady Boone at our last show, Joe wants everything tonight to be kept on the straight and narrow, no question about it. The real shocker was the entrance of the Road Warriors! They just rescued the team that will be their opposition in tonight's main event! We'll see the Kangaroos and the Road Warriors in the World Tag Team Championship later this evening. NO DISQUALIFICATION GRUDGE MATCH THE INDEPENDENT ICONS (MIKE QUACKENBUSH, DUSTIN LEE, & SCOTTY VORTEKZ) vs. THE REJECTS (NECRO BUTCHER, DRAKE YOUNGER, & ARIK CANNON)The confrontation between these rival factions was as intense as expected! The Icons used their quickness and bravado to set the tempo of the match, as the Dragons took turns at Necro Butcher and wore him down. Each time the Rejects tried to take the low road, the Icons were up to the challenge. Scotty Vortekz took out Necro Butcher with an amazing suicide tope which left both men incapacitated. But in the ensuing brawl, Drake Younger drilled Quackenbush with a light tube, busting him open. As Younger continued his attack, Vortekz managed to roll Necro back into the ring and deliver a devastating Cyclone Kick. Necro was still groggy, and went down like a ton of bricks as Scotty made the cover. Joe Kopasz counted the pinfall and the match was over! After the decision, the brawling continued. Seemingly out of nowhere, a figure emerged with a Singapore Cane and began to wreak havoc upon the Icons. Finally, a spotlight was turned on the figure to reveal JUSTIN CREDIBLE! Justin laid out all three of the Icons with cane shots, leaving them lying dazed in the ring. The Rejects lifted Justin onto their shoulders and paraded out of the ring, howling in celebration as their rivals lay beaten on the mat.WINNERS: THE INDEPENDENT ICONS(Scotty Vortekz pinned Necro Butcher with a Cyclone Kick)JR: Justin Credible is here! One of the most extreme competitors in the history of the sport has joined forces with the Rejects. But unfortunately, it would appear that these guys will still be wrestling for free. A very impressive win for the Icons, who played into their own strengths beautifully in that contest. NWA HEARTLAND TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN vs. TAKESHI MORISHIMAMorishima simply outclassed Hacksaw, delivering a series of running attacks to utilize his superior agility. Duggan winded quickly, but managed to kick out of the Saito Suplex. But he was unable to mount any further offense, and soon fell prey to an awesome powerbomb which gave Morishima the victory. WINNER: TAKESHI MORISHIMA - NEW NWA HEARTLAND TELEVISION CHAMPION(Morishima pinned Duggan after a Powerbomb)JR: Congratulations to Takeshi Morishima for capturing the Heartland Television Championship! A very nice addition to an already impressive resume indeed. Now, fans, before our last two championship matches, we have a special interview featuring the Money Man of the Heartland, COUSIN LUKE.Luke appears backstage, holding a microphone and staring into the camera. Seated next to him is referee BRADY BOONE. Luke remains speechless and appears confused until Boone taps him on the shoulder and points to an earpiece lying on the table. Brady assists Luke in putting the earpiece in place.JR: Over to you, Luke! Luke appears perplexed as he looks around the interview room.Luke: Jimmy? Is that you? You're supposed to be out at ringside! JR: I am, Luke. It's time for your interview segment. Luke looks up at the ceiling, then turns his head from side to side, casting his eyes about the room in total confusion.Luke: JJ? I hear your voice inside my head! What in the tarnation is goin on? Boone taps Luke on the shoulder again, removes the ear piece, and takes the microphone from Luke. He turns to the camera to address the audience.Boone: Fans, Luke has asked me to be here tonight to review the match between TONY ATLAS and LARRY ZBYSZKO. Apparently, Mr. Luke believes that the match was not officiated impartially. Luke: Why did you count so slow, Brady? Did Bobby Heenan threaten you? Boone: No, sir. Luke: Did Bobby Heenan offer you money? Boone: Yes, sir. Luke: Did you take his money? Boone: No, sir. Luke: You didn't take his money? Then why the slow count? Boone: Because Bobby paid me. Luke: Let me get this straight. Bobby Heenan offered you money? Boone: Yes, sir. Luke: Did you take his money? Boone: No, sir. Luke: So you didn't take Bobby's money, but he paid you so Zbyszko would win. Boone: That's right, sir. Luke: I don't get it. You took the money? Boone: Yes, sir. Luke: From Bobby Heenan? Boone: Yes, sir. Luke: See, like I thought, you took Bobby Heenan's money. Boone: No, sir. It wasn't Bobby's money. Luke: Whose money was it? Boone: It was YOUR money, sir. Luke: WHAT?!? Bobby Heenan gave you MY money to fix that match? Boone: Yes, sir. Luke: I knew the truth would come out! See, Jimmy, I told you Brady Boone was an honest man. Next time I see that Bobby Heenan, I got a few words for that crooked feller! Now, let's get on with the paper view! NWA HEARTLAND HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: TOURNAMENT FINAL "DR. DEATH" STEVE WILLIAMS vs. JIMMY "SUPERFLY" SNUKAWilliams and Snika each brought their "A" game in a tightly contested championship match! Williams gained the early advantage, catching Snuka as he climbed the turnbuckle and smashing him to the mat with the Oklahoma Stampede. But Jimmy kicked out of the pin attempt and mounted a gritty comeback. After softening up Dr. Death with chops and headbutts, Snuka caught the Doc coming off the ropes and delivered a vicious backbreaker. That was all the opening that Snuka needed to perform his amazing Superfly Leap! Snuka landed squarely on target and stunned WIlliams, long enough for Kopasz to make the three count! WINNER: JIMMY "SUPERFLY" SNUKA - NEW HEARTLAND HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION(Snuka pinned Williams after a Superfly Leap)JR: What a tremendous match! My congratulations to JIMMY "SUPERFLY" SNUKA for winning the Heartland Heavyweight Championship! The Heartland has been through some tough times, and it is great to have a Heavyweight Champion again. Congratulations to Superfly for a superb performance throughout the tournament, no question about it! NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP THE ROAD WARRIORS (c) vs. THE FABULOUS KANGAROOSThe battle for the World Tag Team Championship was a classic! The Kangaroos and the Road Warriors hooked up in a duel which lasted over 40 minutes. The champions held the advantage for much of the contest, but the Kangaroos tagged frequently to stay fresh, and picked their spots for counterattacks to keep the Warriors at bay. The Road Warrios very nearly pinned Heffernan after a Doomsday Device, but Costello narrowly made the save. Heffernan was clearly stunned by the blow, and Hawk went to work, beating him down to the point of exhaustion. Just as it appeared that the Kangaroos were finished, Heffernan made a desperation tag to Costello, who stormed into the ring on fire! Costello took the measure of both Road Warriors with a barrage of dropkicks and forearm smashes. Heffernan regained enough stamina to rejoin the assault, as both Kangaroos delivered a double clothesline to Hawk which sent him tumbling from the ring. The Aussies followed up quickly, delivering a deadly Boomerang to Animal. Costello made the cover, but before Joe Kopasz could complete the three count, Hawk dragged him out of the ring and slugged him on the side of the head. Kopasz staggered to his feet and called for the bell, awarding the match to the Kangaroos via disqualification. WINNERS: THE FABULOUS KANGAROOS(Road Warrior Hawk disqualified for striking the referee)JR: Oh, my goodness! Another controversial finish! The Fabulous Kangaroos are your winners, but the Road Warriors hold on to the belts as a result of the disqualification. My hat is off to Joe Kopasz, he did everything he could to keep that match under control. But you have to draw the line somewhere, and putting your hands on an NWA official is not to be tolerated, no question about that. The Road Warriors survived quite a scare tonight! In my opinion, the Kangaroos have earned themselves another title match. We'll put our heads together among the Heartland leadership and make an announcement early next week. Fans, it has been a very special night tonight with the Heartland's return to pay-per-view. Congratulations again to Jimmy Snuka and to Takeshi Morishima on their championship victories. Thank you all for joining us. We'll be back in action next week. Until then, fans, so long from the Buckeye State!

NWA Heartland Card #153 Montgomery County Fairgrounds Coliseum, Dayton, Ohio August 15, 2008 The show opens in a jam-packed Coliseum with JR JAMES in the center of the ring holding a microphone. He is accompanied by COUSIN LUKE.JR: Wow! What a hot crowd here tonight at the Fairgrounds! Heartland Wrestling is proud to be back in action, and we are indeed honored that you have joined us here this evening. We have an exciting card of action for you tonight, highlighted by a very special main event! Tonight we will see a rematch for the NWA World Tag Team Championship as THE ROAD WARRIORS will be defending the belts against THE FABULOUS KANGAROOS! The Kangaroos took the champions to the limit last week at Havoc, and the Warriors only escaped by virtue of a disqualification. That match has earned the Kangaroos another shot at the gold, and we will see that confrontation tonight! But Havoc XVIII also brought a startling revelation that BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN offered a bribe to Heartland Referee BRADY BOONE to fix the outcome of a match. Tonight, Cousin Luke has asked for time to comment on that situation. Luke: Thank you, Jimmy. You do a fine job here commentatin', my man. But I got to say, things ain't right here with this Bobby Heenan. He can't be payin' the referees to fix these matches! JR: But what are you going to do, Luke? He's part owner of this territory. Luke: Dang it, JJ, you're right. But it's my dad-burned money he's spendin'. There's got to be summin' I can do to set things right. Bobby Heenan! You come out here right now! Bobby Heenan strides to the ring with a smirk, accompanied by LARRY ZBYSZKO. Heenan: What's up, Luke? Luke: What's up? You need to watch yore step, pardner. You want me to be yore money man, you need to do what's right. Heenan and Zbyszko chuckle.Heenan: Ummm... sure, Cuz. Whatever you say. Zbyszko: Like Einstein here is gonna do something about it? Luke ( scowling): Now you listen here, smart guy. If you were such a big deal, you wouldn't need Bobby to fix yore matches in the first place. Zbyszko: Watch your mouth, Bubba. Don't make me bust you up AGAIN. Heenan: Easy, Larry. Luke, good buddy, we'll behave from now on, we promise. Come on, Larry, we have a match with Ox to get ready for. Luke: Just watch yore self, Mister Bobby. This ain't over. You keep messin' with my money and that will be the end of that, I promise. Heenan and Zbyszko exchange glances and chuckle as they return backstage.JR: I don't know, Luke. No question, you need to keep a close eye on that character. Let's head to the ring for tonight's opening match! (Tonight's referee: Joe Kopasz)FRITZ VON GOERING (w/ NIKITA BREZNIKOV) vs. OX BAKER (w/ BOBBY "THE BRAIN" HEENAN)Von Goering was clearly in the wrong place at the wrong time. Baker unleashed a vicious attack on Fritz and beat him down severely, finishing him with a devastating Heart Punch. Von Goering lay unconscious for several minutes before being helped out of the ring by Breznikov and Joe Kopasz. WINNER: OX BAKER(Baker knocked out Von Goering with a Heart Punch)JR: Wow! Heenan and Baker really sent a message with that match. No question, Heenan is a wheeler-dealer, but the man has a vicious streak and Baker is the perfect guy to wreak havoc on anyone who gets in Bobby's way. Luke, you best be careful! Luke: Thanks, Jimmy, but I ain't finished yet. I got another bone to pick here tonight. JR: Another bone to pick? Do tell! Luke: Bobby Heenan ain't the only rattlesnake around here. That rascal JIM CORNETTE has some 'splainin' to do, too! JR: I assume you're referring to the situation with DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE?Luke: Naw, Jimmy, I ain't gonna referee nuttin'. But yore right about Diamond Dallas. You saw what Cornette did to him? JR: Yes, and I believe Wildman Butch Michaels has that footage for us. Butch, show us the tape! Footage is played from the grudge match between Page and Condrey from Card #150. Page slides Condrey into the ring and drops him with a second Diamond Cutter and covers him for the victory. Following the match, Cornette got to his feet and climbed back into the ring. Page turned to face him, and BOBBY EATON slippied into the ring from behind and clipped DDP across the left knee! Page went down hard, and Eaton and Condrey immediately went to work. The Midnights knee-dropped the injured leg repeatedly, and Cornette got in a few shots of his own with the tennis racket, leaving Page laying in the ring and clutching his knee as the Midnights laughed and departed together. Before the video package is finished, Cornette storms to the ring accompanied by all three members of the Midnight Express.Cornette: Luke, you dumb hillbilly! I swear on Mama Cornette's grave, you give us respectable rednecks a bad name. If you think you're going to hold me and my guys accountable for what we do in the Heartland, you got another think coming. Of course, it's not often that anyone has ever used LUKE and THINK in the same sentence to begin with. So help me, if you stick your ugly nose in our business, I'll stick this tennis racket so far up your backside you'll be walkin' like a duck for the rest of your life. Don't you forget it, you mangy-haired mental midget, I own this company and I will have you banned from any and all Heartland events if you cross my path. Mama's attorneys will see to that! Luke stands speechless as Cornette stomps to the ring. Eaton and Lane follow, while Condrey remains next to the announce table and scowls menacingly at Luke throughout the match.JR: Okay... make yourself comfortable then, Mr. Condrey. Let's get to the next match! THE KILLER BEES (B. BRIAN BLAIR & JUMPIN JIM BRUNZELL) vs. THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (BOBBY EATON & SWEET STAN LANE w/ JIM CORNETTE)The frustration was equally evident in the Midnights after the confrontation with Luke. Stan Lane showed absolutely no sign of being rusty as he launches himself into Blair. Lane survived a few stiff shots from both Bees before levelling Blair with an enzuigiri, then went right to the Rocket Launcher. Lane smashed Blair twice with the body splashes, then covered him for a three count as Eaton fended off Brunzell's attempt at a pin save. WINNERS: THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS(Lane pinned Blair after two Rocket Launchers)JR: Now that was a powerful statement by the Midnights! Team Cornette is back at full force and the other contenders in the Heartland had better be prepared. As the Midnights made their exit, Condrey continued to stare down Luke. Luke stood his ground, glaring at all four Midnights, until BIG JIM THE ENFORCER casually strolled onto the scene and ushered Cornette and his men back to the locker room.JR: And another powerful statement indeed. Quite a show of force by the newly reunited Express. Luke did well to stand his ground, but my friend, you better be careful not to bite off more than you can chew! Next up, we have another exciting tag team contest. THE ARMSTRONG (BOB & BRAD) vs. THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS (B.G. & KIP JAMES)In a very tight contest, the Armstrong family battled back and forth. The Outlaws dominated the early portions of the match, using their superior teamwork to land several punishing blows on both the elder Armstrongs. But Bob and Brad battled back, isolating Kip in the ring and wearing him down. Bob nearly put Kip's lights out with a sleeper hold, but Kip finally escaped and made a desperation tag to BG. BG and Brad then tore the house down, hitting each other with everything in the arsenal. BG got the better of the exchange, and nearly pinned his big brother after a knee drop and a Pump Handle Slam. But Bob saved the pinfall attempt and was able to tag into the match. In the end, youth prevailed as BG caught his daddy with another Pump Handle Slam to record the pinfall. WINNERS: THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS(B.G. pinned Bob Armstrong after the Pump Handle Slam)JR: What an entertaining contest! Nothing is more exciting than a friendly rivalry between two brothers. And tonight, it was the kid brother who got the best of both big brother and pops! You can bet they'll never here the end of this at the Armstrong household. JOHNNY VALENTINE vs. TITO SANTANATito opened the match with a flurry, gaining a quick near fall with a sunset flip, then trapping him in a Figure-4 leglock! Valentine reached the ropes to break the hold, then slowed the match down and took control. Valentine went to work with the Atomic Skullcrusher, hammering Santana repeatedly until he was unable to kick out of the pinfall. WINNER: JOHNNY VALENTINE(Valentine pinned Tito after repeated applications of the Atomic Skullcrusher)JR: A strong match for Johnny Valentine, no question about that. He still must be considered a serious contender to the Heartland title! Let's move on to the next contest. Havoc also saw the surprise arrival of JUSTIN CREDIBLE, one of the hardest of the hard core competitors in this business. It appears that Justin has taken it upon himself to side with the Rejects as an ally and a mentor. It will be most interesting to see how that situation plays itself out. ARIK CANNON (w/ JUSTIN CREDIBLE) vs. THE DESTROYERCannon appeared to be out of his league in this confrontation, as the Destroyer got the best of him at every turn. At one point, Cannon managed to stun Destroyer with an Exploder, but Destroyer shook it off and kept on coming. Even Justin Credible at ringside was unable to turn the tide in favor of his protege. When Destroyer looked to finish Cannon with a figure-4, Credible got involved again, grabbing Destroyer by the leg and pulling him out of the ring. But the masked man was unfazed, knocking Credible flat on his back with a hard right hand. Destroyer returned to the ring and hurled Cannon over the top rope, sending him careening to Credible. Neither Cannon nor Credible got to his feet before the 10-count and Destroyer walked away victorious. WINNER: THE DESTROYER(Destroyer defeated Cannon by countout)JR: An inauspicious debut for Justin Credible indeed. MAIN EVENT: NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP THE ROAD WARRIORS (c) vs. THE FABULOUS KANGAROOSThe rematch from the controversial match at Havoc was much more decisive. The Kangaroos started quickly, catching one near fall after the Boomerang on Hawk. But Hawk kicked out of the pinning predicament with authority and roared back into action, turning Heffernan upside down with a clothesline. Hawk tagged in to Animal, and the duo executed a crushing Doomsday Device to cap off a decisive victory. WINNERS: THE ROAD WARRIORS - Retained World Tag Team Championship(Animal pinned Heffernan after a Doomsday Device)JR: Outstanding! The champions just CRUSHED the Kangaroos, who are quite a fine team in their own right. The Warriors are a dominant force in the NWA, arguably the greatest tag team of all time! Fans, it has been our privilege to present tonight's matches. We thank you so much for joining us on this very eventful night of action! We'll be back on Monday night with our next card, and another very special main event. Heartland Television Champion TAKESHI MORISHIMA will be on hand to defend his championship against an opponent who will be announced. We hope to see you there! Until then, fans, so long from the Buckeye State!
