Tournament of Honor, Round 6 Cincinnati, OH 6.26.06
Non-Tournament Matches:
Jerry Lynn battled Jimmy Yang to a non-contest when the fallen angel lead his disciples to the ring.. they gave a cerimonial hood to Lynn, who put in on without a word and left the ring with them.
Homicide def. Austin Aries with an STF in a good back and forth match
Tournament Matches
Samoa Joe def. Jay Lethal with an Island driver... Lethal did his best, but Joe was just too much for him.
Delirous def. CM Punk with Chemical Imbalance.. It looked like Punk had the victory with the Anaconda Vice, but Delirous somehow squirmed away. The loss ends any chance of Punk making the finals!
The Briscoes def. Rave/Reyes with sitout suplex in a quick win.
Kenta takes Bryan Danielson apart (7 tokens!), finally pinning him after hitting Go 2 Sleep for the 3rd time. Danielson new it was all on the line, but he just couldn't get the job done.
Nigel McGuinness def. "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels with the Tower of London. McGuinness fought like his life depended on it, and kept himself alive with the dominant victory.
The tag team picture is now clear.. the Briscoes will make it to the championship, to face the winner betweem Aries/Stong and Whitmer/Jacobs.
The techincal champ picture is not so clear... Kenta, Samoa Joe, and the Fallen Angel are all 4-2... with Joe and Daniels hooking up in the last round. If Kenta can beat Delirious in his match, he'll face the winner of the match between Joe and Daniels for the title... if he loses, they'll be at least three men tied for 2nd place, and some sort of extra match will be scheduled. Nigel McGuinness can get into that action as well with a win over Bryan Danielson in his last match. Danielson, Punk and Lethal all have already been eliminated (all three are 2-4)

*nod* I really had a good visual image of the match as a whole.. the crowd went absolutely CRAZY when Danielson kicked out the 2nd time, but he just had nothing left.
I'm hoping once the tourney is over Danielson will string a few wins together.

I just caught up, Wildfire. This continues to be flat-out awesome. I still contend that Danielson is only getting beaten by cheating or his own design, though.

Mid-South Impact! From the Impact Zone 6.27.06
Dark Matches:
Bobby Roode gets a quick win over BG James with the Roode Awakening
Shelley/Devine def. Diamonds in the Rough when Alex Shelley hit David Young with Shell Shock
<Start of Show>
AJ Styles comes to the ring to start the show, prouding showing the fans his Southern Cross belt.
Styles: Kevin Nash, this belt right here means that I'm the best of the most exciting, athletic, Phenomenal group of wrestlers that exist today. I'm not sure why Cornette decided he needed you, but we're gonna get this done tonight! FIrst, though, I want to show Nash, and you fans (pop) an exciting match, so my I present to you, Petey Williams and Senshi!
Petey Williams Vs. Senshi
Both men felt each other out early on, with alot of counters and reversals. Senshi got the upper hand after countering the Canadian Destroyer, and put Petey down with the Ghetto Stomp. He then got the pin after the Ki Krusher as Kevin Nash, Alex Shelley and Johnny Devine hit the ring. Senshi fought of Shelley, while AJ Styles flew back into the ring from the broadcast position and attacked Nash. Once Williams got back into the fight, Nash and his cronies retreated. Styles raises Senshi's hand, but Senshi quickly snatched it away, motioning to the belt as he went to the back.
Winner by Pinfall: Senshi
Christian Cage Vs. Ron "The Truth" Killings
Christian said nothing to Sting, Jeremy Borash, or anyone before his match, he just went to work. Total squash of Killings, who never got in any sort of offense.
Winner by Pinfall: Christian
Scott Steiner Vs. Sting
Big Poppa Pump started out in control, and looked like he would win easily, but Sting battled back after Steiner did push-ups in the center of the ring. The action spilled outside when Christian hit the ring. Sting told him back off, and in doing so allowed Steiner to clobber him from behind. Steiner was about to put Sting through the announce table with a power bomb when Christian took Sting's bat and took out Steiner's knee caps, saving Sting but also causing the DQ. Once Sting got back up, he stared a hole through Christian before going to the back. Christian left through the crowd, whith doing any further damage to Steiner.
Winner by DQ: Scott Steiner
America's Most Wanted Vs. Bentley/Kazarian for the Mid-South Tag Titles
Maverick Matt and Kazarian were clearly fired up in getting this shot, and they pulled out all the stops. Bentley thought he had three after a Picture Perfect Elbow drop, but Storm kick out at 2 and 7/8. AMW just could get anything going, but both men kept narrowing escaping the various pinning combinations the challengers threw at them. After a near fall on a fisherman suplex by Kazarian, James Storm rolled out of the ring, then clobbered "the Future" with a beer bottle right in front of the referee for the clearly intentional DQ.
Winners by DQ: Bentley/Kazarian
Backstage, Jeremy Borash finds James Mitchell, with Mid-South Heavyweight Champ Abyss,
Borash: James Mitchell, how did you get the MAEW Extreme Champ, the Big Show, to come to your aid last week?
Mitchell (ignoring Borash completely) Show, I thank you for your service last week. You have passed the test. I would like to invite you to join us in a more permanent arrangement as partner to my other two wrestlers. We will be at the next Extreme Xplosion for your answer. Mr. Brown, rest assured that yes or no, we have assured you next week will be.... Doomsday. (Abyss roars)
Borash: Wait, 3rd wrestler, who else... ( Monty Brown blindsides Abyss from behind, and brawl is on! Mitchell whispers to Abyss during a lull and the two retreat)
Brown: You call yourself a Monster! I call you Cookie Monster. When you come to the Sarengetti, it will be the Alpha Male whose holding the Gold Cookie! (Brown leaves a confused Jeremy Borash)
AJ Styles Vs. Kevin Nash for the Southern Cross Title
Nash, as expected, brought the Paprazzi with him. As AJ headed to the ring, he looked a little nervous, then called for a mic. AJ: Can't face me one on one? I thought size mattered, not numbers? Well, I have an equalizer (Chris Sabin and Sonjay Dutt hit the ring with chairs, and take out the Paparazzi) Ring the Bell!
Nash caught AJ with the big boot early, and nearly got the pin, but that was the only time he was able to catch up the the Southern Cross champ. IT took a long time for AJ to chop him down to size, but he got it done.
winner by pinfall: AJ Styles

MTW Tournament of Honor, Round 7 6.28.06
Non-Tournament Matches
Jack Evans quickly defeats Colt Cabana with a Corkscrew Moonsault.
Matt Sydal defeated Homicide with the dragonrana. Sydal shook off a vicious Shining Wizard, then ued his high flying arsenal to ground Homicide and get an impressive victory.
Tournament Matches
CM Punk def. Jay Lethal with the Anaconda Vice. While the boos for Punk continued, but he seemed more at ease with the crowd reaction, and put on a great show for the crowd, dominating Lethal and getting the impressive victory.
Delirious def. Kenta with Chemical Imbalance. Kenta clearly was looking past this match, and he paid for it! Delirious got into his head early, darting around the ring, and kept the NOAH star off balance throughout. The win ties Delirious for 2nd with Kenta and at least one other man!
Whitmer/Jacobs def. Aries/Strong when Jacobs speared Strong. Strong and Aries dominated most of the match, cutting the ring in half and working over BJ Whitmer. Jacobs was able to make the save on a couple of occasions, and finally was able to get into the ring. After some back and forth action, Christopher Daniels came down to the ring and provided a distraction, and allowed Jacobs to use a low blow to set up the spear for the win. Daniel's disciples will meet the Briscoes for the techincal tag champs!
"The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels def. Samoa Joe by DQ : Daniels gets to the finals in a swirl of controversy! The match started out with high impact moves, and never slowed. About ten minutes into the match, Whitmer and Jacobs hit the ring, in their black robes... they watched at ringside while Joe had the upper hand. Daniels escaped the choke and hit the BMO, and was about to go for the cover when Whitmer and Jacobs ripped off their robes and pulled the referee out of the ring! Daniels was horrified, and went outside to confront his disiciples when Jacobs nailed him with the same low blow that won them the tag match... the dazed referee called for the bell and DQ'ed Joe!
Joe was pleading his case to the referee, looking to get the match restarted when Jacobs, Whitmer and Daniels, nailed him from behind. The Fallen Angel directed traffic as his disciples beat Joe down, until the Briscoes hit the ring and ran them off. The evil smile from the Fallen Angel at the fuition of his plot silenced the area.
Nigel McGuiness def. Bryan Danielson by DQ: This was looked like it could be a classic, but McGuiness kept dropping Danielson on his nose, starting the blood flowing. McGuiness kept poking and slapping and punching at the face of Danielson, not doing much damage but really aggravating him. Once he started in on taunting, Danielson lost his temper and refused to break a choke. When the referee tried to break the hold, he shoved him across the ring, causing the DQ.
So, as things stand McGuinness, Joe, Kenta and Delirious are all tied for 2nd at 4-3... while Daniels is in the title match, at 5-2. No word from the MTW rules committee on how the tie will be decided.

Scott Steiner announced that Jeff Jarrett would still be out of action for some time, but that he had hired another 'enforcer' to face Sting and Christian while he was out... Kevin Nash!
Sting/Christian def. Steiner/Nash by DQ: Great Match to start! Sting and Christian seemed to function as a unit most of the match, and did alot of damage to both their opponents. The turning point of the match came when Steiner hit the ring to save Nash from the Unprettier. Christian got a chair during the brawl, and laid Nash out on the ring floor. While Sting was arguing with Christian about his use of the chair, Nash recovered and took both men out, causing the DQ.
Chris Sabin def. Alex Shelley with a small package in under a minute! Sabin is not yet 100%, but he couldn't wait to get back into the ring. After Shelley hit the ring, he stole his camera, and tossed it acrosss the ring... when Shelley turned, Sabin rolled him up for the quick victory! Shelley was furious!
Coach D'Amore came out with Bobby Roode, and demanded respect, to a chorus of boos. Roode called out Ron Killings, claiming he was the past, and he was the future. Killings quickly accepted and the match was on!
Bobby Roode backed up his talk with a dominant win over Ron Killings with a Northern Lariat.
AJ Styles def Monty Brown in a non-title match with the pele kick... classic power vs. speed match.. AJ was in control for most of the match

Angle offered his hand after the match, and Taz, though still looking angry, accepted it.

Thanks guys! the Taz/Angle Angle isn't over yet the Daniels angle worked out well the dice were very co-operative BTW, Knapik, you have might want to change the card for Kevin Thorn/Stone, now that they changed his name and he's wrestled a bit (I was thinking it might be good to add in the throat drop on the cane move too) and now... MTW Press Release 7.1.06 The NWA rules committee has decided that, despite actions that could easily be deemed detrimental to wrestling, he will still be allow to complete for the Midwest Techincal Title, but no one will be allowed at ringside for the match. In addition, no one from Daniels stable will be allow to compete for the NWA world title at the 1st Clash of the Champions. He opponent will be determined in a fatal four way elimination match between the 4 wrestlers tied for 2nd place in the tournament. The Title match will be pushed back to the following card, to make sure both wrestlers are fresh for the match.

Tell me, is he still wearing it..? ;D I love your fed Wildfire...It's so great to read...Another thing I came across was the 3 Go 2 Sleeps on Bryan Danielson...It reminded me of Goldberg losing to Macho man after 7 Savage Elbows...I love stuff like that...it's like the dice REALLY want one guy to win, but......

The Al Snow match was a pleasant surprise, I love it when an opening match turns into a classic.

Thanks CPB! Got a lot of good things coming Extreme Xplosion! 7.1.06 Harrisburg, PA Dark Matches: Sal Rinauro def. Rhyno with a suplex into a pin with the tights. Rhyno bellowed in frustration after the match, and started yelling at his disgrunted fans. CW Anderson def. Al Snow in a great match with the Anderson Spinebuster... both men were battered and tired after the match (4 tokens each) Anderson passed out on his way back to the locker room.. apparently his beating last week took its toll. <Start of Show> (As the camera pans through the crowd, it focuses on Abyss! sitting in the 1st row of the balcony Paul Heyman immediatrly comes to the ring, with Test and Mike Knox flanking him) Heyman: Security! Get up there and have him removed! He has no business in the arena. (Security surround Abyss, wo growls at them. As they back off, he shows that, at the end of his chain, he has a ticket for a seat in the first row of the balcony. He sits down, next to an empty chair) Security Chief: Sorry boss, he has a ticket.. Heyman: If you so much as breathe toward my ring, freak, you'll be escorted from the buiding and I will personally call Mr. Cornette and have you suspended from Mid South as well! (The crowd pops and Cornette comes out, standing behind Heyman) Cornette: Is that so, Paul? You're running two territories now? I don't recall that part of our contract. (Heyman blubbers a bit, and Cornette waves him off) Cornette: Abyss is welcome here, as any NWA competitor would be, and he will be treated as such, understand? (Heyman is fuming, but nods) Cornette: good, now get your show started, these people didn't come here to see you shout at fans (big pop as Heyman scurries away) Tommy Dreamer gets a quick win over Kevin Thorne when he smacked Ariel's behind, and Thorne charged at him into a chair shot. The Dreamer Driver finished the job. The Bashams def. The Dudleys with Double Brain Damage. The move came totally out of nowhere... the Dudleys were in control, working Danny over until the action went outside. While they were talking about tables Doug tossed Danny a chair and blasted Ray, and got him back inside for the win. (the camera pans back up to Abyss, who is still sitting next to and empty seat. He seems to be more interested in his chain than the action, when suddenly his attention snapped to the ring) The match that got Abyss' attention was the return of Mikey Shipwreck! He was lead to the ring by a very strange, very obese man wearing a sailor's outfit and a greek comedy match. Mikey introduced him as "the best manager in the world, the Harbormaster" Unfortunately, he hadn't mentioned a manager to Paul Heyman who came down to ringside to investigate. The distraction allowed Stevie Richards to blast Mickey with a Stevie Kick for the win! Sandman makes short work of Raven, (who got beat too quick to have anything to say) with a White Russian Leg Sweep, then a DDT on a chair. Sandman called out Show after the match, Cane at the ready... Show' music hit and he started toward the ring, when Abyss suddenly appeared in his path. The two behemoths stood staring at each other, until Abyss made the first move. He reached inside his vest, and pulled out and envelope, handing it to Show. Show looking curious, but didn't open it, but rather returned to the back. In the back, Paul Heyman tried to get Show to show him to letter, but Show just entered his locker room and closed the door. Paul's Enforcers def Taz/Kurt Angle when Test pinned Angle with a pump handle slam. The Tag Champs showed great teamwork, whil Taz and Angle looked like two guys that happened to be on the same side, and it made the difference.
