Just graduated in May and soon will be going for my CPA. Beancounting is so much fun.
Looking into law school and real estate. Soon I'll be one of those guys on the infomercials about how to get rich.

I work as a correctional officer in Newton, Iowa. Doing it over 4 years now...not a bad gig. Funny thing though, I found out quickly that it was nothing like the HBO series...OZ!!!

Well, I know this thread has been quiet for a long time, but I just found it, and since I think it's a cool thread . . .
I'm an English professor at Long Beach City College. My PhD was a combination of medieval literature and linguistics, with a lot of composition study thrown in.

Late to the party here too, as usual...
I am a Family Physician, full-time faculty at Wright State University Medical School. I see patients about 30%, teach about 40%, and direct the Continuing Medical Education office for the med school 10%. Just appointed as Director of Research for the department, which is a 40% role, and yes, that does add up to 120% of my time!

And we also seem to have similar math skills, to say nothing of similar time demands. Actually, I'm on sabbatical at the moment, so I can't really complain about the time demands right now. But normally I could match you pretty well (department chair, academic senate president, etc.).

My real hope is to pursue further training in medical informatics (computers in medicine) and transition into a career as a computer geek.

My real hope is to pursue further training in medical informatics (computers in medicine) and transition into a career as a computer geek. Yeah, I was department chair for six years and academic senate president for two, with one year of those two stints overlapping (a year of pure hell). I deserve this sabbatical more than I can tell you. The computer geek job sounds much better, though I would not give up teaching for anything. In fact, last semester was the first time in seven years that I have had a full teaching load (because of the release time for the other positions), and I loved being full-time again.
