So NEXT TIME you go shopping a leave or just dump a tin of meatballs in with the beer . Lol, i spent my college years working midnights in a supermarket Bazzy ( a farmer jack store for those in Michigan). I liked it, truth be told, but the pay was total crap as I was the low guy on the totem pole and had to fight for hours every week. I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in print journalism, and I've parlayed that into a decent career (thus far) writing for a local paper. it's got a small circulation, and I'm mostly stuck covering city government (which I generally coudlnt give a crap about) but it's a foot in the door. I'm lucky enough to have a wife who makes a good salary working for the city as an billing clerk...that allows me to keep at the paper (where the money is still crap) and try to work on moving up to a better paper (I've had lots of contact with the Detroit News...so keep your fingers crossed for me). Wow, i just took 3 paragraphs to say "Journalist". I guess you can tell I'm a writer

I work in a supermarket bakery, so don't feel bad, Neil. I'm also a freelance writer, though I haven't been active lately...too much stress. After we move, I want to go back to school next year and get my Master's in English so I can teach at college. That's my major goal at the moment.
Take care,
Jay

For the past 2 years I have worked for a rotational molding company. We make all things plastic. It's one of the better paying jobs without a degree. If your state has a lottery, we make most states' plastic stands and stuff where you fill out your numbers on the slips. Plus we make those clear boxes that sell scratch tickets. That and we make plastic docks and 2 man fishing boats for the marine industry. Many colleges with regattas (rowing) and stuff have boughten from us. We also make a lot of the seats and various plastic parts that go on Disney rides such as Tower of Terror, Lilo and Stitch, etc. We make the shells of the shoes for characters like Mickey, Minnie, Donald and I think we've made them for Goofy, but not sure on him. We see a lot of different things, so most all of it's not the same unless we're running a 5,000 piece order for some states' lottery.

Currently working for the Cendant Hotel Group (soon to be renamed Wyndham Worldwide) as the Revenue Manager for the Ramada and Wingate hotel brands (basically I help the hotels set the best price to get the most business). My company has about 7000 franchisees (Super 8, Days inn, Howard Johnson, Travelodge, Wyndham, etc) all over the world, and absolutely none within 25 miles of Jamestown...so my great employee benefit is basically worthless to me.

I own a mobile disc jockey company. My guys and I perform at weddings, school dances, bars, etc. I worked for a different company, making chump change, for 5 years and then broke away on my own. It took awhile to get rolling, but now it’s doing very well. I love music and having fun, so it’s been a great way to make a living. Sometimes I’ll have to deal with a “bridezilla” here & there, but it’s completely worth it, as the focus of the job is bringing happiness to others.
I’ve also been a member of the Army National Guard for 11 years, which allowed me to spend a nice 9-month vacation in Afghanistan (which was actually the catalyst for me getting back into COTG, so I know it was really a blessing from above, ha ha). I’m done in February 2007 and can’t wait!
I’ve also went to college on and off for the last 9 years. Sometimes I think the quest will never end! I’m going full-time right now, and if I keep getting decent grades, I’ll “win the title” in May 2007, majoring in Marketing. I’m a pretty busy person, but life is for living, not merely existing.

Comm Officer in the US Air Force... If I could do it over again, I would've went Air Force instead of Army. Shorter boot camp, shorter deployments (where I was anyway), better food!

We seem to have lots of police/military and teachers..... Is that because the game appeals to both our aggressive, wrasslin fan nature and our imaginative, intellectual side? Or am I just an idiot. I think both options will have supporters

I am also an assistant track coach (shot and discus), as well as wrestling dummy ( I go and let the heavweights toss me around- I do not know how to wrestle, but I have done some grappling, so it is all in good fun)

My dad always tell me that i made the right choice on the Air Force as well...He was in the Navy (Naval Air) but he always tells me of his times on AF bases and how the AF would use "real plates" in the "Dining facilities" while the Navy was still using "tin platter" in their "chow halls". I actually talked to the Army recruiter first, but my Uncle (who was an E-9 in the Coast Guard then) sat me down and talked with me about what a radio guy in the army versus the Air Force and I went to the Air Force Recruiter within the week and never looked back!

I think both options will have supporters Since we have never had the data to back up this observation previously, you might have something going here...or we might just both be idiots looking way too deep at the people who enjoy CotG... ;D

In addition to my lucrative paying job as CPC brainiac (or something not so closely approximating that)... I work for a company that records books and magazines on cassette/CD/flash media for the patrons of the Library of Congress' Blind and Physically Handicapped program. Basically I get paid to do a lot of blabbing into a microphone in my home studio and then edit the finished product together so that these folks have the same access to print media that the rest of us sighted and/or able-bodied people do. Among the magazines I read cover to cover every month (out loud) are Discover, Bon Appetit, Money, Travel and Leisure, Consumer Reports (that's a real fun project to turn into spoken word, lemme tell you), and also the weeklies and bi-weeklies U.S News & World Report, the Nation (for you pinko left wingers) and National Review (for the head-in-the-sand neo-cons among you). And no, I don't take sides. This isn't really a web-page plug, but if you are curious about any of the books I've narrated over the years (including Have a Nice Day, Foley Is God, The Rock Says..., Bobby the Brain, and Sex, Lies, and Headlocks), you can go to www.loc.gov/nls. Click "Search the catalog" and in the box for "Keyword" type Mark Ashby. Currently there are 183 titles I've done in there. More added monthly!
