God I hated (and it seemed like I was the only one that did) but Hogan in the 1980's ruled .

I really liked nWo Hogan but you gotta go with the "Training, Saying your prayers, and eating your vitamins" Hogan from the 80s.

For the record I'm the lone person who voted for nWo Hogan. I hated him in the 80's so much that I couldn't give him my vote.

Sorry, gotta go with the Memphis version, Terry "The Hulk" Boulder. Shame Jerry Jarrett hated Beefcake (Terry's brother "Eddie Boulder") or the whole landscape of wrestling would have changed!

Good choice, damn I forgot to put that in there. How about the hulk Hogan with blassie as his manager, he came in as a wwwf heel and wore a cape. Thunderlips followed as in ROCKY.

How can you hate Hogan? He's probably the reason you started watching wrestling.

How can you hate Hogan? He's probably the reason you started watching wrestling. I actually started wrestling because of Ric Flair, but I'm sure I am in the minority on that. Rahl

Not necessarily. If you watched wrestling pre 84, Hogan didn't turn you onto wrestling. If you started watching post 84, then Hogan may have gotten you to start watching wrestling

Regarding the last few posts about Hogan and Flair, on Hogan's recently-released anthology, Ric Flair makes some brief comments before the Hogan-Flair matchup from Bash at the Beach 1994 is shown.
Flair says that, although he hates to admit it, more people know the name Hulk Hogan than they do Ric Flair. Flair also said that he does not consider Hogan to be in the same class or work rate as himself. Nevertheless, Flair finished by saying he considers Hogan to be the biggest star in the history of professional wrestling.

Yeah, that was very cool of Flair.
You can't deny it. He is definitely the biggest star in the history of the business. The only one that comes close to his "star" status is The Rock.
He is the most charismatic personality in the history of pro wrestling and is probably the main reason (along with McMahon) why wrestling is where it is today.
Hogan works a crowd like no other. I wish more guys would do that.

I think Hogan, although I was never a huge fan of was the ICON of wrestling as his name will reign in wrestling history forever and the only other man in my mind that is a house hold name for all prior and new generations is Andre the Giant!!!

Rahl I loved the NWA but never could get into Hogan...I was always a rebel andall my friends loved Hogan. So I pulled for Piper, Orndorff and Savage. But the NWO that's when I really liked Hogan. Now I like Hogan as well. He is to be respected for his mark on the busines and having a really hot wife. I am to old to talk about his daughter.

Without the Hogan of the 80's, there would be no Hollywood Hogan of the NWO. I go with Hogan of the 80's!
Hogan is better than Flair. Period. Until recently, I was never impressed with Flair. Everyone made a huge deal about him in WCW/NWA. When he finally had his chance to shine in WWF (when he 1st entered) he stunk up the place (IMO) I saw some old NWA/WCW tapes and I was like...eh... While some of his matches were solid, not someone I can compare to Hulk Hogan, NWO or 80's.
