Try it, things called books are very educational. We are part of the Commonwealth, we are not ruled by the British. How did we get on this subject ?

I dont doubt that soccer is popular outside of the United States but here its not as popular as Football and I dont think it ever will be. Even Nascar racing has more fans

In Australia, Aussie rules is number 1, football ( soccer ) is on the up. The Melbourne Victory average 40,000 crowds. But it will never over take Aussie Rules here. Isnt it good we can agree on some things . ;D

[Why is everything" in the US"? . Because America is the biggest and strongest country in the world. [They've never come to Australia, if they did I would go. . Of course you would. Everyone would and it would sell out. And it would be an exhibition game. That's my point. OK, if where talking figures, tell me this. Which sport is played by more people than any other in the world ?. That's because girls play soccer which = more people world wide might play soccer than football, but that's only because they have girls leagues and down syndrome leagues (seriously). Girls and people with ds can't play football. They would get killed. American Football > A sport girls play.

You say that the NFL wouldn't rank in the top 5 most popular sports in the world. In your honest opinion what are the top 5, I'd really love to know

what I meant was if you went to other countries and took a poll of the top 5 sports watched , the NFL would not be amoungst them.
The most popular sports played around the would would be,
football ( soccer ). It's played everywhere. tennis. Again played everywhere.A game that bores me , but you cant deny how popular it is. hockey. Huge in Europe and Asia. Cricket . I know you're probably laughing , but it's massive in the Southern hemisphere, and probably number 1 in Asia. ( India, Pakistan, Sri-Lanka.Biggest sport in Africa. They even have leagues in Europe. Holland, Belgium, Scotland have teams in the World Cup. Rugby ( league or Union ) Second only to soccer around the world.
No doubt the NFL is number 1 in the U S. Truth be told, it's the only American sport I watch. I love the game, but its not the best.
Swarm, your comments are just plain dumb. Ofcourse women arent going to play American football.....they're a lot smarter than that !! But then again I remember the lingerie bowl......only in America !! ;D

This is talking about the last superbowl. How many people do you think watched the rugby championship game or even know what its called. Only the 1996 Super Bowl between Dallas and Pittsburgh, which had 94.1 million viewers, had a bigger audience, according to Nielsen Media Research on Monday. Behind that 1996 game and the M-A-S-H series finale, Sunday's game was the third most-watched program in television history. (from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIFA_World_Cup)The FIFA World Cup, sometimes called the Football World Cup or the Soccer World Cup, is the most widely-viewed sporting event in the world, with an estimated 1.1 billion people watching the 2002 tournament final. Now what sport has the bigger audience?

Hey I hate to even say it but the World Cup of soccer is the most watched program in the world. In the U.S it is the Superbowl and in Canada the Grey Cup has more viewers. Our highest rated show was Canada/U.S. for the gold in the Olympics. An estimated 23 million viewers out of a population of 31 million people watched that game.
And hey lets not mock another countries history, The U.S. might not have won independance from the British if not for the help of the Germans. And the White House is white because it was burned down by the British. Then you had the whole slavery problem and segration issues.
So Doom mock another guys team, sport, sexuality or looks but stay away from his children or country. That is just taking a really bad cheap shot.

You're right it was a cheap shot and I admit I was wrong for doing it. I dont remember saying anything about anyone's children. I wouldn't do that
