American TV was calling for a change in playoff hockey to a shootout format. To that I say hell no. I heard they were also considering making it 4-on-4 from the 2nd overtime on. If they screw with the format of playoff hockey (the most exhilirating experience in sports) then I will go on a one man rampage the likes of which has never been seen. Don't say I didn't warn you.

You got that right Zilla, if they screw with OT hockey because some people find it boring, I say after 10 innings in baseball we have a homerun derby to determine a winner. Imagine a world series being determined by a HR derby. Oh how the cries would go up then.

Oh how people make me laugh !!
NFL best pro sport?? I like it but the best...you're kidding. How does a game with four 15 minute quarters run for 3 hours !!! Stop, start, stop, start. Lucky they give you 6 points for a touch down or the scores would be 3-2 maybe 4-2 or the dreaded 0-0 ( hmmm like a game that people find boring !)......then the refs need to look at replay to make decisions!! Why have them out there at all ?! Then there is baseball. That's like going shopping with your wife when shes looking for a dress. You sit there for hours , he swings, he misses, he swings he misses....oh! He finally hit one. Like my wife, "should I get the blue ,no the red, no the blue...ok the red !! After a few hours its done !! Exciting stuff. Then there basketball. Here you have a go then give us the ball and we'll have a go . Oh ! And the fans pay hundreds of dollars to watch guys bounce rubber balls !!
You want excitement. Its Aussie rules. No pads, no time outs, no changing players every couple of minutes ( plays ). It's awesome.
But the best is soccer !! Hands down !! I dont care what anyone says....WORLD CUP !! Nuff said !!

Maybe 7 and 15 are the number of players on each side, eh?

Sorry I forgot that I was talking to Americans about a non football sport and I should have explained myself better, rugby fans would have known what 7's and 15's are. 7 and 15 are players per side. And, A and B are the levels the teams are. I didn't mean to confuse you folk. Won't happen again...but it most likely will

This is talking about the last superbowl. How many people do you think watched the rugby championship game or even know what its called. Only the 1996 Super Bowl between Dallas and Pittsburgh, which had 94.1 million viewers, had a bigger audience, according to Nielsen Media Research on Monday. Behind that 1996 game and the M-A-S-H series finale, Sunday's game was the third most-watched program in television history.

Fact is, go to any other country in the world, and the NFL would not rank in the top 5 sports watched. I'm a fan of the NFL but to say its the most popular/best is just laughable . There are other people on this planet. ;D

Actually the NFL is the most popular sport in the World. That's why they sell out all the stadiums across the world in other countries for meaningless exhibition games.
You couldn't draw fans to a rugby exhibition game in the US if you gave away free blooming onions at the door.

They've never come to Australia, if they did I would go. We have a local league which gets around 50 spectators. OK, if where talking figures, tell me this. Which sport is played by more people than any other in the world ? Believe me, the answer is not hard !! I know you guys find football ( soccer) boring, and that's your opinion, but to say that American football is more popular....well thats just sad.

We gave up on that in 1776
