One thing that always bothered me about orgs is when the owner or President of said org backs a stable or is unfair to group of fighters for no other reason then past employment, nationality, or popular consensus.

One example is Nobuhiko Takada. I lothed his fights with Rickson Gracie. Bas Rutten vs. Rickson Gracie was a dream match up that many people were pulling for and the Takada fights killed any possibility of the encounter. I am a Sakuraba fan but the Takada dojo tryed ardently to stack fights in his favor or hand him as many title matches as he wanted( he was a huge draw).

That era is long gone. About ten years. Now many great fights are happening as they should. Fighters are getting paid what they should have been during the dark ages after the first boom. Then again how does an a big company like UFC grind down a popular fighter so his next pay day isn't as big as the last?

Much like alot Pride super stars.. are fighting more well rounded top talent.. with out 3 or 4 can fights between major bouts to make them look better than they were.

If you compare the roster/fighter pay/presentation/commentary from 1998 to 2006 you will see and you already know why many people.

UFC was number one in my book until Zuffa bought it and now its number one by default. I really dislike being put in a position where if I want to see class S fighting through and through I have one choice. If you were there with me through it all you'd agree. Unless, you like Arlovski, Mir, Tito Ortiz( Frank Shamrock taught him a lession), and UFC's rocky title picture with Bas Rutten canning the title after "winning".

Whatever thread he posted in he bashed whoever the fighter in question was and pronounced Don Frye as the greatest fighter of all time. This was even after UFC 10 where Mark Coleman defeated Frye. When Mark Hall said his second fight with Don Frye was a work that just made him worse.

I see C00L ALAN mentality all over for fighters like Fedor, Arlovski, Shogun, Vitor, Couture, Tito, Chuck, Wand, Forrest, Melendez, Leben, Rampage, whoever Gracie, Frank Shamrock, Sakuraba, and others. I get nothing from typing a conversation with these kinds of people. Its like being on stage at a concert and talking to a crowd of people scream "YEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH, FRANK RULES! SHAMROCK SHAMROCK SHAMROCK SHAMROCK!"

Opposite is the lynch squad. Like they are coming after Frankenstein's monster. One thing about the angry mob... if you can calm them or encite them more. I'm not saying they didn't fight major stars.... they just did it alot less. Those fights against Kanehara, Iwasaki, Tamura, and Oyama were to build him up. They make sense. Tamura is like Mr. Kennedy before the suspension in popularity in Japan at that time. Why wouldn't you book all those guys against the Gracie killer? Those fights allowed Pride the money to get the top competition. After that they raided UFC. Murilio Bustamante among others never came back because they were giving out the correct pay for their talent.

UFC is trying Tamura angles with Brock Lesnar. I am sure if they could have would have used Hong Man Choi too( to bad he can't get medical clearance).
