I was never a fan of Nate's 'camp counselor' gimmick on TUF and watching him get KTFO seconds in was good for a laugh. While I don't blame him for grabbing an opportunity when it's there, he had no business leapfrogging over others in the division who were far more credible and vested. Good luck to Dana on promoting his resale value. Some more vids: Ernesto Hoost K1 Legend Highlight Video tinyurl.com/9jfgxThe Classic K1 Bob Sapp vs Ernesto Hoost 2. I like Fedor and everything, but can someone tell me how he won this one? Arona was more aggressive, better controlling positions grappling and better takedowns. I think it was a gift for Fedor.

I remember back in the early 1990's with the burgeoning of UFC/Pride/Mixed Martial Arts in America and Japan, along with the correlating success of both Royce and Rickson...the birth of 'Gracie Mania' was in full swing. Nobody in the family was a more prolific representative/pitch man of the Gracie Jiu Jitsu product than Rorion. Here are some video clips from the old Gracies in Action series which capture his masterful two punch propagandizing method. If you are mindful and listen closely to what he's actually doing the technique is just as much downright hilarious in hindsight today, as it was successful and effective at the time when Rorion was raking in the big bucks (while locking out much of the rest of his family in the process). Rorion-ism: "It is hard for him to accept that all of his years of training have been in vain. Perhaps he will never be able to understand what really happened. And what's worse...he might never consider incorporating Jiu Jitsu into his training! Now watch as the Hapkido instructor is choked out for the third and final time!" ;D Royler Gracie vs Kempo Fighter Dojo Challenge www.youtube.com/w/Royler-Gracie-vs-a-Kempo-instructor?v=9F6FZX0hMfg&search=jiu%20jitsuRoyce Gracie vs Jason Delucia Dojo Challenge www.youtube.com/w/Royce-Gracie-v.s.-Jason-Delucia?v=jFWw46P-6WM&search=bjjRorion Gracie in Challenge Matches (with Rorion commentary) www.youtube.com/w/rorion-gracie?v=9-oLfNOm_vs&search=jiu%20jitsu

These were great vids, thanks for the post. The interesting thing here, though, is we are seeing these clips out of context, so to speak. We see the Gracie fighter, whom we know a good bit about, but we know nothing about the other fighters (other than the martial art they practice, and the one guy who was a World Kickboxing Champ). We know the Gracies are all tough, but the other fighters could have been meatballs. Even the Kung Fu guy, who had been training for 15 years and never had lost, perhaps those he had ever beaten were meatballs. I understand the point of the video was to point out holes in these arts' game, but the hole in Gracie Jiu Jitsu was never pointed out either. That being said, it must feel horrible to see 12 years + of training be proven not to be effective in a matter of seconds.

Paint, although I altered my response to the Grfacie vids a bit, your point is right on and well taken. Given the fact that the Gracie name is largely absent from the marquee of the recent fight cards, it seems that their legend is carrying more weight than their in ring ability.
That being said, I have a nagging suspicion that Royce will beat my favorite fighter, Matt Hughes when they face each other. Hughes gives up his back too much, and Royce will capitalize upon that.

You know even after all these posts (unless i missed it) it's a shame no ones got a link to Kevin R. and Coutures fight. I've been dying to see that for years.

Seemed to slip doesn't do it justice. When Randy Couture appeard to be winded against Mike Van A. He "seemed to slip (I don't beleive it).
When Nog sqeeked out a win against Mirko Cro Cop.. "He seemed to slip"
No Sir Ricco has fallen down an entire flight of stairs... got up.. and fell down another flight as far as what he use to be. But I'm cool with that.. the only Ricco fight I ever liked was the one where Tim Knocked him out.

[/b] (who believes Captain America will silence his critics and take the belt back from Liddell...his loss last time was a fluke due to the eye problem) [/i][/quote] Randy's need to visit the optometrist aside, I too, see Randy winning. I think, despite his age, he has more tools and is more well rounded. I just hope he plays his strategy more like the first fight as opposed to the second.

Well I loved tonights show... in fact I picked a winner in every fight.. except the one that really mattered. Oh sure I felt a broad smile cover my lips watching Mir crash and burn... but i remember tooning into Randy's fight and feeling a great sickness in my gut..I breathed when the bell rang and the fight started.
I won't ruin anything, It just felt my hope die inside me when i saw the end of the main event.
