Hooray Padres! Glad you dug the park, Stephen.... I think it's beautiful. See what I mean about not a bad seat?

Hooray Padres! Glad you dug the park, Stephen.... I think it's beautiful. See what I mean about not a bad seat? Yeah, PETCO Park was sweet! I wished I could have stayed in town longer and also gone to a Red Sox-Padres game this weekend. Today's pitching matchup between Josh Beckett at 10-1 vs Jake Peavy at 9-1 could very well be the same matchup of starting pitchers we see in next month's All Star Game. But Chris Young also has a good chance to start the All Star Game.

Forget All-Star Game... I'm already thinking we could see this matchup again in the World Series...
Jon, make sure your team does their part, and my team will do mine. See you in October.

PADRES WIN! Back to a tie for first! WAR PADRES!
Also, according to a survey of major leaguer batters, Chris Young is their most feared opponent.

The Padres redeem themselves with a 4-0 shoutout over the Cards!
Jake Peavy has not been scored on in 19 innings, has a 2.21 ERA and that's second in the league. His road ERA?
0.89
Scary. And I thought Chris Young was a lock for the Cy Young.

Yeah Wells was a cool guy but just isn't cutting it anymore. His family used to shop at my video game store in San Diego and they were cool. Spent hundreds every time they came in! Wife was pretty smokin' too.

Awesome day for the Padres today! Arizona loses and Greg Maddux gives up 2 hits in 6 innings. Brian Giles is hitting very well now (and FINALLY we have a starter batting over .300!) and Adrian Gonzalez continues to be our offense with a home run and two runs scored on two hits.
Rob Mackowiak has had flashes of brilliance, but is playing terrible lately. How long until Milton Bradley (who is well over .300 this year) takes his spot as a full-time starter?

No offense, but if your manager is starting Mackowiak everyday, he is seriously retarded.

And Mackowiak is riding pine. Yay!
edit: Padres just went up on the Mets!
Man, the Mets lineup is SCARY. Reyes, Castillo, Wright, Beltran, Delgado, Alou... pretty sweet. Thank goodness our bats are on today. Normally they have Paul LoDuca and Shawn Green too! Cripes!
