That's been what they've been saying A-Rod's asking price is (30 mill per year and part ownership).. alot of people 'round here think he'll be a Red Sox next year...
Me, I'd rather stick with Mike Lowell, and use the 20 million left over to sign a stud to replace Manny Ramirez.

Bah! Gimme A-Rod, please, and put him back at shortstop. I'll take Derrek Lee, Derosa/Theriot, A-Rod, and Aramis Ramirez as my infield for the next three years. Plus with Soriano, Pie, and pretty much anyone in the outfield, that team would be a world-beater.
Soriano Derosa Lee A-Rod Ramirez Jones Soto Pie
Eff yeah. That would be absurd. If it's Canning that they're talking about, and if he can make this happen, then he officially gets my vote over Cuban.

dont count your chickens until they hatch inclognito. 1)But, it's a lot easier. Eggs don't move around. 2) are you calling me a clog, you silly donkey? The Brew crew took a bad hit today; but I'm not giving up hope. As long as no one has an x by their name the division is still up for grabs. On the bright side; the Pack won and Favre tied Marino. I'm 13-1 in my football pool so far (Missed the Giants over Washington). Also, the Badgers picked up a hard fought victory yesterday; so I'm happy.

The Chargers roster is STUPID amazing.... GAH

Damn Brewers anyway. They had it this year and blew it.
I feel your pain Knapik -- though Norv Turner is in his own class of crappy coaches, I feel like Mr. Inexperience Ned Yost is a big reason why the Brewers in all likelihood will fall short.
A veteran, Lou Pinella-type manager would have coasted the Brewers into it. It was their division for the taking.

Brewers are now only three back; it's a long shot, but if they keep winning they have a chance.

Two back now. Could it be that the Cubs have begun their inevitable crash?
The last time they truly choked was against the Marlins in the playoffs.....here's to the Marlins being heroes again.

You guys are killing me with your pathetic little hopes and dreams. Seriously. It's cute. That's what everyone's said about the Cubs for 100 years now. This is seriously some of the best writing in years, a Cubs fan calling other peoples hopes and dreams pathetic. If this is not the most obvious instance of the pot calling the kettle black I don't know what is.

Cheap bear? More dellusions?? More pot calling kettle black?? They serve chilled pi$$ at Wrigley, I mean Old Style. Oh, well, same difference. The Skinny Dip I drank while enjoying the Cubs and Brewers games last night was 8.99 a six pack. Hardly cheap.

Hey BDS, just wondering how C-Mo has been doing for you guys? He was one of my favorite Tigers the last couple years, but he completely fell apart this year. Is he striking out a ton?
As for the guy we got in that deal, you can have Clay Rapada back. He blows.

He's been kinda mediocre. If I'm not mistaken, he just hit his first homer last night. He hasn't really been awful or anything, he's just kind of there.
Give Rapada a little time. He's still young, and I think he could develop into a pretty good specialty reliever. I don't think it was an entirely bad trade for you guys.
Not like the Neifi trade or anything.

I wouldn't be clinging to this admittedly remote chance if it was any other Central team than the Cubs. So don't tease us about our pathetic hopes. It is because the Cubs are THE consummate chokers in all of sports that we have our hopes.
If after today the Brewers are only one game back.....I think the writing will be on the wall.

If after today the Brewers are only one game back..... .. I will post a picture of me trying to eat one of my Cubs hats. Ahh, I love the smell of ridiculous prop bets in September!

Brewers now only 1 1/2 back; but it looks like they'll be back to 2 behind at the end of the night.

That's because, once again, that piece of sh*t Derrick Turnbow blew it. I swear, they'd better abort that failed project in the off-season if they are serious about winning. The guy sucks.
