This one's pretty self-explanatory. Name your favorite band or musical act.
For the past few months, my favorite band has been the Reverend Horton Heat.

For about 20 years now my favorite band has always been Social Distortion. One year later, I'm still playing their latest album "Sex, Love, and Rock 'n' Roll' on a daily basis. I saw them earlier this year along with the Street Dogs over at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel and, ironically, yesterday I just bough tickets to see them in January over at Mandalay Bay on the Strip.

could have told you this twenty years ago...AC/DC...but since my music tastes are wide ranging i am currently (and have for the past year + since i have had XM-Radio) listening to a lot of Dance/Trance/Club music. I became a fan of the music when i was stationed in Europe and going to clubs all the time...while i have never been to a "Rave" i bet i would have a good time at one just kicking back and listening to the music all night long.
However, i can always snap back into a "good" rock song...something hard and rocking.

Def Leopard, Kiss, Billy Squire. Just old school 80s. I rarely listen to the music radio, if I do mostly classic rock. I listen to conservative talk like Dennis Prager, Michael Medved, Glenn Beck, Mike Gallagher.
BUT, my wife listens to country sometimes and I can listen to Sara Evans or Faith HIll all day.

I am a huge hardcore fan. I am not really into the scene but love to go to shows when I have the time. I like As I Lay Dying, Stretch Arm Strong, Underoath, Bleeding Through, Norma Jean, Zao, Misery Signals, The Agony Scene, Still Remains, Symphony in Peril and many more. I also enjoy more modern rock bands like POD, Project 86, Stavesacre, Foo Fighters, 311 and quite a few more. I only listen to the radio at work and there I listen to a classic rock station that plays Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, ZZ Top and I am enjoying that more and more.

In one of the other threads I said I was a DJ in the bad old days....I use to listen to all sorts of music..Rock, R&B, Soul even Country and Classical...BUT lately I have been listening to Contemperay Christian Music or CCM for short...I found that the message in it is positive and healing that is missing in the others...I recommend a listen to all it may surprise you if your honest about it....I recommend Todd Agnew, Steve Curtis Chapman, Point of Grace, News Boys, Casting Crowns, FFH, Nichole Nordeman ...but just about any will fit...Try it you'll like it.

I work in the music department of a Christian bookstore. Some of the music is cheesy, but there is a lot of great stuff. frank2 is correct about the artists he mentioned, especially Todd Agnew. Also Switchfoot, Third Day, Natalie Grant, Robert Randolph, and Jars of Clay are worth checking out. As for my favorites- I enjoy U2, Alabama, Harry Connick Jr., Pat Metheny, and Martina McBride.
