Lets see... Blind Guardian tops the list. You can't listen to one of their better albums and NOT feel like you've been transported to what their singing about... Iced Earth, Bruce Dickinson's Solo Work, Iron Maiden, Devin Townsend, Nightwish, Trivium, Alice in Chains, Alter Bridge, Neveremore, Stonehenge Hu... Honorable mentions to Metallica & Nirvana. My two fav's when I was growing up. Oh, and my goddess in life...Tomiko Van, who fronts...or did... , Do As Infinity. One day...I shall meet her...and then cry.

Black Crowes (best concert ever) Notorious B.I.G. Snoop Dogg Alabama Kenny Chesney Bon Jovi Ray Charles Audioslave Motley Crue Big & Rich Bruce Hornsby
...that's more than a few. I have to stop now or I'll be here all day thinking about it.

Dream Theater Metallica Iron Maiden King's X Clannad Loreena McKennitt Billy Joel Neil Diamond Pet Shop Boys Aerosmith Rush R.E.M.
I like just about anything but rap and hip-hop. Some alternative is ok... no new metal. There's a few country artists I like...like Alabama is pretty good, and Shania Twain is decent. Johnny Cash was pretty cool too. I hate all forms of rock/metal christian music... the contemporary stuff is ok but it all sounds the same to me.

I love Christian Music, No Mercy, Casting Crowns, Toby Mac, the Afters but right now I have been listening to Selah's Hymn's an awful lot. It really puts me in the mood for teaching class on Sunday and Monday nights.

It really puts me in the mood for teaching class on Sunday and Monday nights. Selah's hymns CD is very nice. I personally can't stand all the modern praise & worship stuff. All they do is repeat the same few words (usually very shallow lyrics) over and over again. You just can't beat the words of the old hymns.

Hey soug, I apologize as I just woke up about an hour ago and am slightly hungover, but who is "y&t"? I admit I like the new Bon Jovi song too ("Have A Nice Day"). However, even though I dig their music, Bon Jovi (& Sambora) have to be a couple of the worst lyricists of all time. The first couple lines of "Have A Nice Day"... Why you gonna tell me how to live my life How you gonna tell me if it's black or whiteGee, they thought hard about those didn't they, LOL? And then there's the same line that's in da-mn near every one of their songs... I'd lie for you I'd cry for you I'd die for you I'd eat pumpkin pie for youIt's amazing how they've lasted this long with the horrible lyrics. On the flipside, all the songs end up sounding really good and out of the 81 concerts I've been to, they are #2 on my best show list (Black Crowes were #1).

I too listen to pretty much everything, I unfortunately am not a fan of alot of new rap. I love the old school stuff but the new stuff kind of irks me.
There are quite a few bands I like but here is just a sample of what I listen too....
Elvis The Beatles Faith No More Kiss The Headstones Mr. Bungle Disturbed Korn Marilyn Manson Alice Cooper Led Zepplin Motely Crew Billy Idol Rob Zombie Tool
there are a soo many more, I enjoy music as a whole and play bass. Was in a band a couple years ago but it fell apart just when I think we were gaining a bit of momentum atleast within the surrounding area. I hope too put together another after things slow down. But I really enjoy stuff from 60's-late 80's.

I think Bon Jovi is leaning into the country stuff a little bit now. They did a "Crossroads" show on CMT (Country Music Television) with a band called Sugarland and it kicked a$$ (I like country so other opinions may differ). Then, they teamed up again at this week's Country Music Awards, and now Richie Sambora is going to release a duet with some country chick (can't remember who though). This new turn for them sounds pretty good, so it'll be interesting to see what happens with them...
