lol...I loved Techmo...did you ever play that crappy NWA for Nintendo that came out...maybe it was sega...terrible...Michael Hayes..Sting...Eddie Gilbert...Flairs finisher was the piledriver i think...terrible That game wasn't terrible by any means. It was the best wrestling game on the NES save WM Challenge or Pro Wrestling. Even then, it's probably as good as either of them. And before anyone says that the two other games I mentioned were crap, they were both fantastic games for their time period, and almost hold up today. And Pro Wrestling is also considered the fore runner to Fire Pro Wrestling. Was that the one with the Road Warriors on the cover and the final boss was a giant wrestler with a mask? If so it was WCCW Wrestling. You had to punch and kick to wear down the opponent before you could put a move on them. No, it was WCW Wrestling.

Well...I am having a bit of difficulty downloading what i need to play PWS (the copy of SPW) but the site admin is very helpful eventhough it would appear not much has gone on since 2004...there are new post by a new member...and mention of yet another game looks to be based out of Canada. But for now, I will try to get it working and roll it out...looks all PC based tho...i liked the old classic rpg feel...hhhmm...might have to print the cards from screen shots... anyway I will update if i get this going... There is a yahoo group you should join for the game. That's where the activity is. They are a helpful group. To print out cards from the computer game it takes several steps but it's not that hard. You just export the wrestler, which is then saved to your hard drive as a PDF and then print it out from outside the program as you would any other PDF. But that yahoo group has many, many wrestlers in its files section along with alternate rules, matches and charts.

Also Ric Flair's finisher was a "Neck Ringer" closeline. I loved this game as a kid. The flashing lights before the finisher, Eddie Gilbert, wrench weapon outside, funny grinding submissions, and of course rediculous boss. I only beat him once with Lex Luger by repeatively closelining him. moveset choice before match was awesome

There I go dating myself again but this one looked to be something else...i never bought it because I couldn't ever find the damn thing, but i think it had just a few wrestlers in it Hogan, DiBiase,Andre,Savage...to name a few...might have been called Wrestlemania...?

Fun fact: The game was a port of a Japanese wrestling game called "SuperStar Pro Wrestling", and most of the characters were just palette/head swaps. Which is why Steamboat had the King Kong Knee Drop, he was a head/color swap of Brody, as well as other guys not having their correct finishers. Sting was a swap of Riki Choshu, which explains the sasoregatame as his finisher. Just for the list of who replaced who: * Lex Luger is based on Antonio Inoki * Ric Flair is based on Giant Baba * Mike Rotunda is based on Jumbo Tsuruta * Kevin Sullivan is based in Genichiro Tenryu * Sting is based on Riki Chōshū * Rick Steiner is based on Akira Maeda * Ricky Steamboat is based on Bruiser Brody * Road Warrior Hawk is based on Stan Hansen (though he's in both versions, the WCW Wrestling version of Hawk is not based on the Super Star Pro Wrestling version. This is why the US version uses Hansen's trademark Western Lariat as a finisher). * Michael P.S. Hayes is based on Road Warrior Hawk * "Dr Death" Steve Williams is based on Big Van Vader * Eddie Gilbert is based on Abdullah the Butcher * Road Warrior Animal is the only one that remains unchanged.

OK help me with the name of this dice game.
Mid 90's. The system was very similar to the old Superstar Pro wrestling game of the 80s that were in the Apter mags and I played the hell out of. This had cards for WWF and WCW wrestlers but the names were changed but changed in a way where you could find out who they were. I can remember Lulk Logan and others for Harlem Heat, Nasty Boys, Doink, etc. Somehow it got chucked when I went off the college and I'd love to know if anyone can give me the name of the game so I could look for it. I believe it also advertised in PWI because that's how I ordered it. Any ideas?

@ mwjergs....i have no idea what that one was...i loved SPW back in the 80's...although i thought it was a bit limited as I found i needed to make more of my own guys (the NWA version came with 16...and who wants Kevin Sullivan...lol...), really led me to making other federations...etc....which led me to cotg and other types as well...
but i can't seem to remember another other that the IWA that advertised in the PWI and their mags...let me know when the answer comes up

Never played that one, but my dad got us the WWF NES game back when I was but a wee 10 year old. I loved playing Andre the Giant and just running over guys. Played it many many times ans would consider buying an old NES just to play it again. Long live Nostalgia!

Well...limited or not I got sucked right in to the SPW action...so much so that I haven't even had time to make it over to my yahoo group for it...but as expected I immediately remade the guys as to how I had them back in the day...lol...

I still have a couple cards and the charts. they also had some promoter's dream scenarios on blue charts as well..Geoff Garrett, Bulk Logan, Macho One Randy Wilde..oh yeah, that is it. -J

This? (I found this picture on tabletopgames) On another note, I've recently bought S!O!S! (an MMA Simulation; a link here sent me there, but I can't find it...) I'm addicted to this thing, and having just recently bought POW Revival, I have my hands full of MMA!
