While awaiting my CoTG delivery, here's some other games of interest. PWSA ripoff of Superstar Pro Wrestling, but they admit it. The download they have is a cool program for playing solo with, requires no dice or paper. I personally prefer the actual playing of the games and rolling the dice myself but this is a fun thing to mess around with. CoTG DesktopThis one just baffles me. The characters are more anime than good ol' Wrasslin. Is this actually affiliated with CoTG? It might make more sense when I get the game.

Many Legends Of Wrestling Yahoo groups have bootleg Desktop files so you can play or LOW with Desktop! You can also create your own COTG files and type in the data on the cards yourself! This takes some time to do, obviously, but it's well worth it!

You can enter any card into the game and then play your matches. Desktop is the program that online is based off of.

Never knew you could load all your boot legs on there. I have some questions though... -Can you apply special rules (ex: roll finishers?)? -Does it show the match move by move? Just curious.

You can't show the match move by move, but you can apply special rules (there's an empty field below the card to write stuff in)

Yeah, desktop is more of a helper program, a tool to help you play on the computer. It doesn't do much for you. You still do it yourself (dice rolls, clicking appropriate levels of offense etc). What it does do is help you organize and play on the computer and the access to charts when you click a chart situation is also helpful. Adding characters is easy too.

Desktop is a great tool if you are playing CotG that isn't currently available online. Otherwise I'd recommend collecting the cards, but playing with COTG Online. Just my opinion...

Well, I found the PWS...looks to be an offshore one...and ya, they outright admit to copying every little thing from SPW of the 80's...wow...even the cards are the same...cool tho, they even have the Promoter's Dream, i can't remember what was released first this or the NWA edition back in the day...that really brought me back...I might just have to get those too...lol...

One of my favorite wrestling games to this day is Tecmo World Wrestling which I believe came out for the NES. It was a very fun game and very good for its time.

Was that the one with the Road Warriors on the cover and the final boss was a giant wrestler with a mask? If so it was WCCW Wrestling. You had to punch and kick to wear down the opponent before you could put a move on them.

I don't remember there being any Giant with a mask...hhmm...but I think it had Flair/Sting and a couple of othere on the cover...was from the NWA though...i will never forget thinking what the hell is Flair doing a piledriver for...lol...
mind you it was around 1989...flair was in a feud with Funk and did use the Piledriver as revenge for being piledriven through a table....hhhmmm....wait...it all makes sense now....lol...

Well...I am having a bit of difficulty downloading what i need to play PWS (the copy of SPW) but the site admin is very helpful eventhough it would appear not much has gone on since 2004...there are new post by a new member...and mention of yet another game looks to be based out of Canada.
But for now, I will try to get it working and roll it out...looks all PC based tho...i liked the old classic rpg feel...hhhmm...might have to print the cards from screen shots...
anyway I will update if i get this going...
