Finally saw this bad boy in the stores. If I had someone to play with I'd pick this up in a heart beat.

I'll be picking it up as soon as we see it in the local stores here. My son will be pleased. I was VERY happy to see that the characters are in line with regular Heroscape models as far as a point-to-ability ratio goes. Captain America and Spider-Man slogging through hordes of expendable troops from Heroscape should be good fun.

looks great- and for the price, it is awesome, but as many of you have said- nobody to play with!!
I have to wait at last 2 years for my son to be able.
I'll still get it as a Christmas gift!

My daughter is 10. I might pick this up. It looks cool. I never played the orginal Heroscape, but I imagine the rules for the characters are pretty simple and could be modified some of the HeroClix sets as well.

The dice mechanic is easy enough that my 5-year-old can play and know whether someone got hurt or not, and each card comes with an Ultra Extra Simple side that breaks everything down to where younguns should be able to play no problem. Although at 10, your daughter could probably play the advanced game. The core box for Marvel should have everything you need to play, although it's VERY light on terrain pieces (and putting together the terrain before hand is the best part, IMO - it's like playing with Legos). If you've got the opportunity, I'd recommend picking up one of the classic Heroscape master sets, too. They come with a lot more terrain than the Marvel box does, and the figures in it would work great as random henchmen to fight the superheroes.

I figured once I played the game I'd quickly start expanding...already had my eyes on a bridge set and a set of castle blocks and there was a blister pack (old school!) of zomibies and cyborgs that looked like theyd work perfectly for henchmen.

The bridge set comes highly recommended. You get little low walls out of it, as well as a bunch of trees that you don't get anywhere else. Perfect for recreating Central Park. The basic set has some MIB kind of agents and some cyborgs who would be great foils to the Marvel Guys. There are also zombies with sludge guns in the basic set who could work, too, and a few good-guy types that would work for helping Cap fight off Abomination of Thanos. Man, I so totally have to go get this thing.

See...that's why I think HeroClix would go well with this.
I'm a DC guy and if the game play is better with heroscape...BOOTLEG HEROSCAPE CARDS!

ARE YOU F'N KIDDIN ME!!! Like I have time for one more obsession. Do you realize the only reason I haven't bought one of those old electronic vibrating football game s is because I know I would waste hours and hours just buying and painting classic teams??? thanks....i think ....

The basic set has some MIB kind of agents and some cyborgs who would be great foils to the Marvel Guys. The Krav Maga Agents kick ten different kinds of butt. Their abiltiy to dodge non-melee attacks is crazy, and they would probably give a lot of the Marvel guys a run for their money.

Having seen his stats, I'm inclined to agree with this statement in the Heroscape environment. The Hulk is bad, bad news.

I have HeroScape....
I have 2 full sets, plus 2 of the bridge sets, plus a lava set, and nearly every other expansion set (some i have duplicates or triplicates of).
I will say this.
Heroscape is an INCREDIBLE game.....love everything about it.
I will pick up Marvel Heroscape as soon as it shows up at my local store, but it isn't there yet.
But, for my marvel game enjoyment, I have Marvel Heroes....now that is a great game also....
