It is true. They had a title change hands on a dq (Is this AWA?) and had Joe job to Angle. Seems they have no faith on the home built guys. Always has to be t he ex-WWE'rs who go over most times.

oh yeah and btw on the same night the TNA title changed hands on a DQ, the TNA Tag Team Champions LAX were stripped of the belts for saying they were going to burn the flag...I can't make this [censored] up. So wait, let me get this straight..........ABYSS is the NWA champion?! Well at least I can be happy, LOL. Big Time

No the Joe-Angle match was far from classic. But Angle HAD to win that match. He's booked as the wrestling machine and something the TNA fans are going crazy for. He can't lose to Joe. Who better to end Joe's "streak?"
Can't believed Cornette strips LAX of the belts. And why does he give them until iMPACT to give him the belts? Why wouldn't he take them right there?
Sting loses the belt on a DQ? The announcers say it's the ref's discretion. I don't get that rule. Just have a match where the DQ rule is waived. Somebody did that in their GWF fed and it worked out way better.
Angle not able to hold Joe while he suplexes him was hilarious.
AJ looks like he's going heel was the only good thing booking wise.
I don't get the fans at TNA shows. They chant, "This is awesome" when Joe and Angle locked up to start the match. Do they think collar and elbow tie ups are awesome?
Then, they chant "Joe's gonna kill you" forever, but after the Angle slam, they chant "Make him tap" and after the match chant "You tapped out." And it wasn't a split crowd like what happened for Cena.
Then they cheer Angle for pulling the heel move at the end of the show by refusing to shake Joe's hand and agree to a rematch.
Won't even get into the New Age Outlaws invasion promo.
And why do we not see Rhino, Eric Young, Team 3D, and Brother Runt --some of the biggest crowd reaction guys but we have to see Killings in a nobody cares tag match, a pointless X-division match with the paparazzi and listen to Kevin Nash's boring a**?

after all the hype, Joe is still just an overweight, overrated Indy wrestler, and Kurt Angle is an over the hill, broken down has been.
instant classic? more like instant stinker. pee-u.

I came close to ordering this PPV. I almost wish I had, just so I could have seen for myself how bad it was.
I have said for quite a while, when I read people's thoughts about TNA supposedly turning a corner and being on the upswing, that the company is booked worse now that it was when it was doing weekly PPVs. At least then, you knew going in the worst thing about it would be the screwjob finish that allowed Jarrett to retain the NWA belt. Other than that, the wrestling action was pretty good and most of the angles weren't too stupid.
Well, except for Richard and Rod Johnson.
And the whole Erik Watts-Goldilocks feud was pretty stupid, too.
OK, it wasn't the best writing in the world, but it was a lot better than the shoot they are putting out now.
Truthfully, Abyss tapping out to Angle on Impact was an omen. My girl, who did not watch wrestling prior to this year, even asked why Abyss was going to challenge for the title at the next show after submitting in that match. She also asked why two guys on the TNA show spent 10 minutes talking about Shawn Michaels and Triple H.
That is what is wrong with TNA. The problem is not casual fans not being drawn to the product. The problem is when the casual fan sits down and says, "This is stupid because they are doing x-y-z, when they should be doing a-b-c."
If the casual fan understands what TNA is doing wrong, why don't the people in charge of TNA get it?

Do you think the problem with TNA is that there is a group of people that have been involved in professional wrestling for many years and just don't want to admit they have no business running a wrestling organization? Are they dumb or just prideful?
They have Kurt Angle
They have Samoa Joe
They have LAX
They have AJ Styles, Chris Daniels, Alex Shelley, Austin "Starr" Aries, Christian, Abyss... and HAD Monty Brown
How could they have screwed up so badly? I hope they turn a corner with Angle's debut, but the Voodoo Kin Mafia makes me realize this ain't gonna happen.

They should learn from history and NOT worry about what WWE and Vince McMahon does. Ted Turner and Eric Bischoff did this and look what happened there. Also, Russo was brought to WCW to be their "savior" and that didn't end up too well either. Study your own fed and focus on how to make it better. Those who do not learn form history are doomed to repeat it.

Their whole problem is even allowing themselves to think that they can possibly compete with the WWE.
It's like any high school football team in NY thinking they can compete with the Falconer Golden Falcons. The reality is, they don't have a prayer.

If they had a good team presenting a good product they could compete. They have the right players, but all the wrong plays.

If they had a good team presenting a good product they could compete. They have the right players, but all the wrong plays. And the wrong owner .... And the wrong GM ......... And the wrong coach .... And a roster of guys who are either overrated or injury prone and washed up ....... And the few guys on the roster that could be superstars aren't utilized correctly ...... And fans who don't have balls enough to let their team know that they aren't happy with the direction of the "team" and just keep cheering the same old crap week after week instead of demanding a change for the better ....... ( sigh ..... I just realized It's a lot like being a Detroit Lions fan)

TNA does not charge for a bi-weekly taping or a PPV. So these "fans" that show up to watch are nothing more than beer drinking red necks that have nothing better to do than to go out on a Sunday Night and watch guys in tights.
Seriously; why should the fans boo the "direction" of TNA when they are seeing it for free? If they wasted their money on it then different story.

My wife and I had plans last night and I was unhappy that I was going to miss Genesis. It appears that I didn't miss much. I can't believe -- but then again I can -- that they would screw up a year of build with Samoa Joe. I didn't expect a clean win either way but whatever happened to going to a draw. Is it so bad to have the best two wrestlers in your company go the time limit???
Having a clean win in this pair-off at such an early stage is unbelievably stupid. They've completely screwed themselves with the rematch at this point.
And Abyss wins the title with a DQ? ABYSS?! WTF?
Was Sting just bored with the World Title? You know you win one, I guess you've won them all...
And Cornette stripping LAX of the Tag Belts. At least I can see how this angle fits with LAX's schtick. But it totally screws things up by setting LAX up against the "evil" commish.
Lame.
Did I read it correctly that they're trying to turn AJ heel? Daniels would be a much better heel. Hell, just bring the Prophecy over to TNA.
Overall a major disappointment. I thought this was going to be a turning point for TNA. Instead, it just looks like another milestone in Stephanie McMahon and Vince Russo's race to the bottom.
Start collecting all those wrasslin' videos now. Once these two are finished with our favorite pasttime, that's all that'll be left.
Except for a handful of DX shirts, that is.

Great post smathis. Many great points.
Russo has never understood how to book anything.
AJ didn't take a heel turn yet, but last night started what will probably his slow descent to being a heel.
