Well, Sting isn't putting my but in front of the TV, but if that's what I get when I watch, so be it. Big Time.

After watching the last iMPACT show, I say Sting will not help this organization. The whole show (1/9/06) was ridiculous. It was like everyone was whining. The X-division guys asking why they're not on the PPV, Team 3D in a dud of a tag match, then bash WWE for having to mention they were champs. A stupid angle involving Jarrett and Jackie Gada. I was not impressed with this show. I've seen a few and I'm always going into it with an open mind, but it doesn't ever hold my interest.
One of the most annoying things about TNA is everyone's entrance music is like a variation of the same song. Very boring.

The (8 second) tributes to Sting were pretty dull. No one really said anything that had any substance besides Chris Sabin mentioning Starrcade '97.

Gate, you are sooo right about the entrance music. It's like the dying days of WCW. I feel entrance music is sooo key!
In the boom period of the WWF on the late 90s, I felt entrance music was one of the big keys to it. Everyone's music was awesome back then...really fit their character.
Nowadays, even the WWE's music sucks.
The Jarrett/Jackie angle is just plain stupid. Is this Dusty screwing the black woman part 2?
But I like Swarm's idea. This could be how to work a New Blood Rising angle. AJ could lead a faction of the X-Division guys, Abyss, Team Canada against the likes of Jarrett, The James, Team 3-D, etc.

The Jarrett/Jackie angle isn't great, but it isn't as bad as everyone was thinking when it looked like Jarrett was a ladies man.
The whole thing is basically an excuse to have a Gail Kim v Jackie Gayda match, since there's no women's title to fight over...and Gawd will that match suck hard. Heck, TNA's even using the angle to try to mask that Jackie was sh-t canned from WWE by making it sound like she quit of her own accord, only to have Jarrett back out on his deal.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...what TNA needs is to run a story-line that borders on reality and have AJ, Daniels, Team Canada and a couple other home-grown stars to revolt against the company and thier ball licking of all these washed-up loser WWE and WCW guys (who all not named Christian fall into this category)... it's the only way this fed is ever going to work and I just don't see it happening. when thier contract is up with spike, TNA is gone. I really highly doubt that another new blood angle is going to hold most people's interest. Would you watch it? Plus they are practically doing it in reverse. Jarrett, AMW, Team Canada and Abyss are trying to get rid of Christian, Sting and Team 3D. And when TNA's contract is up with Spike I am pretty sure they will be resigned because their ratings are doing quite well and Spike is said to be very pleased. Lets just imagine that Sting comes into TNA in great shape and is able to still wrestle a good match. That would be really fun. It will most likely not save TNA or anything like that but it will be fun and I hope it happens.

No. TNA does nothing for me...if I wanted to watch second-rate athletes on a show with a second rate business model flop around for an hour I'll go buy DVD's of Battledome and American Gladiators...

I've tried to watch TNA a few times, i just can't get past the ring. It just does'nt seem right. As far as Sting coming on board, i think it will help them out tremendously, but i am not a huge Sting fan. The old Sting i thought was awesome, the new Sing just does'nt cut it for me. I will give it another shot, i just need to get used to the ring ;D

Well with that said Swarm, then don't post in this thread as it seems as though your mind is set on hating TNA, I think I remember you once criticizing others for attacking the WWE. So we know ya hate TNA so ya don't have to come in these threads and troll as it were. As far as Sting being apart of TNA I think this is smart. He is there to help the company and not be the focus. If you have not read this interview yet maybe you should........... www.tnawrestling.com/fullnews.php?home=403

TNA just needs some solid booking and an interesting angle and soon it will be competing with WWE. I hope it happens, but I'm not so sure Jarrett is the guy to center everything around.
With that said, TNA getting Sting is a coup, even if he is years past his prime. Still, I don't plan on ordering any TNA pay per views. However, I'm watching Saturday night's show lately so that shows that it's at least attracting my interest (whereas in the past, I could have cared less).
WWE is not the same organization it once was five or six years ago. The talent roster is weaker, the booking is questionable at best, and the decision-making is definitely flawed. Good competition would not hurt the wrestling business at this point.

I live here in Orlando where TNA is from but haven't been able to go to a show yet. I'm gonna try really hard to go on Sunday though.

I really try to get into TNA but I just can't. Zybysko is so ridiculous that I can't watch any segment he's in. And the roster doesn't really have anybody that excites me other than AJ Styles. Christian doesn't even excite me.
It's like trying to say that AAA baseball is on the same level as MLB. It just isn't. The talent is weaker, they have no compelling storylines, no real "characters." The WWE I thought, was always good at having some original characters, i.e. JYD, Iron Sheik, Piper, Mankind, Undertaker, Warrior, Gangrel, and nowadays with guys like The Boogeyman, Edge, Kane, HHH, the late Eddie Guererro, Batista, and Rey Mysterio. These guys all have a distinct look, distinct entrance music, and distinct personas. TNA is really missing the boat on this. The only guy that they have who looks or acts unique is Abyss. (at leat until Sting gets there)

You know Swarm, I think people have been concentrating too much on you not liking TNA and ignoring the reasons WHY you dislike TNA. I think you're absolutely right. TNA has been hinting a homegrown vs. invaders storyline for some time now without fully following through on it. Sure, they have Jarrett allied with Team Canada, AMW, Monty Brown, and Abyss... but they're the heels. TNA booking wants fans to cheer for the guys who established themselves outside of TNA, and against the homegrown talent. (Okay, so the reality is that TNA fans cheer both sides excet for Jarrett, but you get my point.) When ECW was at its peak, would ECW fans cheer the invaders and boo the homegrown guys? Hell no.

Well anyone thinking Sting couldn't still go would have been proven wrong last night! Awesome PPV and I really enjoyed it. Cannot go into specifics as I don't want to spoil anything for those who might want to get the replay.

I actually thought about getting the PPV...but its still a bit too much money right now. Nevertheless, good to see Sting still has at least 'some' of 'it' left, but I was dissapointed to read about the AJ/Tanahashi match ruined by everyone's favorite WWE castoff Shannon Moore. You've got one of the best wrestlers around in AJ going up against the U-30 NJPW Champ and one of the next stars in Japan, and you decide to throw Shannon Moore into it to give it...what...?
Oh well...

If it helps, the match was bombing out before Moore ever got involved.
Never thought I would see someone that Styles couldn't work with but he and Tanahashi limped to that finish.
