It was just confirmed on tnawrestling.com that TNA has just signed a big name from WWE and that person will be at Genesis this Sunday. I'm excited about this, Genesis was solid from the start and now we could see Jay "Christian" Reso, Chris Jericho and who else could be jumping the WWE. I'm in favor of either Reso or Jericho coming to TNA, Sundaynight will be awesome! My thoughts on guys jumping ship, well I loved it during the WCW and WWF days and if TNA just signs a few former WWE guys once in awhile it will still be a great promotion.

I think this pretty much debunks everyone who said Christian wasn't going to TNA. This was his intention from day one.
Christian in TNA = Money baby.

If it is Christian, the entire roster should bow before him in the ring upon his debut and then Zbyszko should kiss his feet, cap Jarrett with a shotgun, and then hand the belt over to Captain Charisma.

I doubt it. Either he'll get pushed which cuts back on pushes for non WWE guys(which people will complain about) or won't get much pushed and people will complain about that. TNA is trying too hard to be the WWE instead of carving out its own niche.

I don't think that TNA is trying to be WWE at all. I think what they are doing is using former WWE talent to lure wrestling fans into checking out their product. While I could do without Jarrett, Konnan, BG James, and Billy Gunn... it would be pretty dumb for me to not love seeing Christian or Jericho in TNA. Remember back in the days of the Monday night war, WWF signed away a lot of WCW talent ... that didn't mean that they were trying to be like WCW. If they can sign former WWE talent that will draw fans to the TNA product, more power to them. Just as long as they don't fall into the trap of sticking them in the main event right away like they have done in the past.

I agree TAF, TNA will use what wrestlers that leave WWE that they can sign with the mix of new talent that has come from the INDY scene. TNA is TNA and not the WWE, and I can't wait for GENESIS this Sundaynight. It will be a GREAT TNAweekend thats for sure!

I think the argument that TNA signs former WWE guys mostly for name value is valid. BUT...when guys like Christian or Jericho (it won't be Jericho) are available, then TNA would be stupid to not want to bring them in. If it is Christian (it may not be...) then he'll probably get a great response from the crowd. But then, the question is do you use him as a face (the peeps will be behind him) or do you use him as a heel, where he's probably better suited, but may kill any 'spark' that his debut will provide. If done right, a heel turn (he helps JJ or something) could really work...but again, a LOT depends on the writers/bookers, and so far, I haven't been impressed with TNA's storyline development/booking.
I think any news that gets people talking about wrestling, who's going where, who's wants out etc. is good for business. Its not WWF v. WCW, but its a start...
*And to add...a BIG name WWE star to TNA may only be Johnny The Bull or Rico...what are TNA going to say, we've got a HUGE signing...former opening match low carder RICO!!!

I don't care who it is signing the best talent available make good business sense. All the major sports do it along with developing new talent. Baseball has free agents and a Farm system. Football and basketball uses colleges as a minor league. there is nothing wrong with either system. As long as the product improves. When WWE & TNA battle fans can only win. I would like to see a third player come in though. That would really stir up the hornet's nest. Keep 'em rollin'

Finally, Jarrett will get a young, popular marquee name to crush!!
I'm not much of a Christian fan, so his arrival in TNA doesn't mean much.
The fact that the company has shown no sign of being able to correctly market talent doesn't help either.

I think that's the concern of every TNA fan. Honestly while I am always optimistic about TNA, I wouldn't doubt they'll do the following with him:
1. Christian does a run-in on the main event of Genesis which costs Jarrett the match 2. Jarrett and Christian have a brawl or a verbal spat on the following Impact 3. Jarrett vs. Christian for the NWA World title becomes the main event for the next PPV 4. Christian defeats Jarrett to win the title 5. Christian loses the title to Jarrett on a following Impact 6. Christian becomes involved in a feud with Sonjay Dutt
Let's hope for better.

I think it would be best to have Christian come in as a face and eventually he could become a heal that isn't involved with Jarrett. Christian has a huge following and he is easily the biggest signing TNA has had so far. I would love to see Benoit follow but it seems pretty unlikely. It would be great to have Jarrett, Christian, Abyss, Monty Brown and Benoit all going after the title. Maybe even throw in guys like Styles and Ron Killings every once in a while. That would be huge.

It's only right that he join Team Canada and lead them. If they don't do this, they are missing the boat imo.

Thats a good point. I don't think its a BIG mistake if he doesn't join up with them, as Team Canada sort of have their own thing going, but it would give them a big name guy to 'lead' the team and would probably elevate everyone in the group.
As long as we get some sort of Christian/AJ Styles conflict, I'm cool.

The Team Canada thing would be a good idea... I think that there are other things he could do that would be just as good, but as Floyd said if they made him the leader of Team Canada it might help elevate the other guys in the group.

He is also a very good friend of Scott D'more's so I could see him having something to do with Team Canada. Make sense that he would see Team Canada beat 3LK at Genesis. Maybe even have something to do with Petey Williams securing the X Title over AJ Styles. Will be very interesting to see how this plays out and I will not miss one second of this.

Jarrett wont' squash Christian. Those days are looong past. Jeff doesn't have dominate creative control anymore.
Yeah, Jeff with the title sucks, but he didn't kill Rhino's credibility in anyway. If anything, having it take a freaking DEATH SENTANCE(aka, TNA's tag team death move) through a table to the floor made him look great.
I don't see Christian in the main event scene right now. Their obviously going with Monty, which is probably a good idea. He's not a horrendous worker, and he can somewhat carry himself on the microphone.
I look for Christian to either come in swinging on WWE, or he'll come in and feud with say...Jeff Hardy for awhile. Then when Monty gets the title, Christian can feud with him.

I agree that Christian could be very good addition to the TNA roster. But I do not think that his name recognition among the general wrestling fans is as big as the internet fans. The casual fan will see him as just another WWE midcarder like Jeff Hardy and Jeff Jarrett. His only real success in the WWE came as a tag team wrestler. We all know that is because the WWE did not give him the push he deserves, but I do not think the casual fan (who TNA needs to attract) will see Christian this way.
