In case anyone has not read this yet, Samoa Joe will make his TNA debut this Sunday on Slammiversary. He will face Sonjay Dutt. I kind of think that Dutt is underneath Joe but the 2 of them could put on a good match. Most likely Joe will just pound Dutt though. I am betting that it wont take much time at all for Joe to be main eventing TNA PPVs.

Well, IF TNA sticks around, someone's gotta job for Jarrett. May as well be Samoa Joe.

Didn't TNA get replaced on T.V. by darts?

Didn't you hear? This has all been part of their master plan. And Samoa Joe, a PROVEN ratings draw, is concrete evidence that TNA is about to take WWE and the world by STORM.
Just go to their website and listen to their fans...they'll tell you.

Fellow Promoters,
Please excuse Tommy, not only did he drink the Jarrett Kool Aid, he went back for seconds, and thirds, and . . .

Does Jarrett call his Kool-Aid "The Stroke"? LOL

Brian, did you miss the cough at the end? =) I'm just trying to convey the message floating on the TNA boards, where they will INSIST that going dark three weeks before the anniversary PPV was all part of some master plan, and Samoa Joe agreeing to work Slammiversary is PROOF of that.

Tommy, I got the cough. Just poking fun. I love how the Internet "smarks" will hang their hat on a wrestler, largely unknown by mainstream wrestling fans, saying he will turn things around.
So pour me a glass of TNA-Aid Tommy. Lets have a drink and remember TNA.

I wonder if Somoa Joe is any good at...that's right...darts?

I heard he kept the ROH title for as long as he did by beationg his prospective challengers at darts, and thus forcing the bookers to put him over.
That's why when, whatisface, Austin Aries (?) beat him for the belt it was such a shock...not a better wrestler...but a better dart player.
True story.

Tommy, you know who I bet was good at darts? Curt Hennig.
Did he ever do a darts promo?

Does anyone know if Henning actually performed all that stuff himself, of would he just aim for the basket (in the basketball promo, one of two I can remember), and then they's cut to the shot going in, but it was really someone else (like a pro) shooting the ball? or would they just have to film all day until Henning made all the baskets? Same thing with the golf promo?

Didn't he once throw a football downfield...and then catch it himself?

I heard Hennig once hiked the ball to himself before handing off to himself right before he flee-flickered to himself only to throw the ball to himself, catch it, block for himself and catch a touchdown.
I think it was on Tuesday Night Titans or something.

I am really curious, besides people having this apparently huge beef with Jeff Jarrett what is their big problem with TNA. It seems to me that some people can never get past WWE's wrestling even though we all know it is at an all time low in quality. I am not saying that TNA even stands a chance at taking WWE like WCW did in the 90s but it is wrestling and much of the time it is pretty good wrestling. I knew people who talked just like how Swarm and Tommy are back in the 90s when I liked WCW and some friends liked WWE and one even claimed that the NWO was a copy of DX instead of the other way around. Samoa Joe is not going to turn TNA around by any means but he is a heck of an addition. He probably will be their champ in the near future if he and TNA stick around. You have to see Joe going to TNA as a positive sign of their future as he would probably be heading to WWE in the near future if it weren't for being signed to TNA now. So enjoy wrestling in all its forms. Not just WWEs. And despite what Vince thinks competition is good for the sport.

Those would be nice arguments, except they don't work on me...why? Because I actually WAS drinking the TNA kool-aid from the time I got a satellite hooked back up last year until around the time they brought Savage in as the "big surprise" for Victory Road.
I pimped TNA onto people for months, even back when I was just reading PPV reports and not actually able to watch it myself.
The reality is that they have had a SERIOUS dropoff in the past few months, thanks in large part to Big Dust and his idiotic booking practices, and Jeff Jarrett doing far more to sabotage the TNA roster than Triple H has EVER done to the WWE.
I don't look at Samoa Joe going to TNA as being a good thing or a bad thing. The reason is because I, much like most of the wrestling watching public, don't know a thing about him...and I won't watch his TNA debut because they were stupid enough to kill their TV deal three weeks before their big anniversary PPV, so they have given me no reason to care about the build to their show. Call me Kreskin, but I'm betting this PPV doesn't turn out to be TNA's biggest one yet.
WWE's wrestling is at an all time low in quality? Really? And we all know it? Huh. They are far from perfect, sure...but I would rather watch Shelton Benjamin half-@$$ it every Monday than watch most wrestlers in the world go all out. Kurt Angle is the closest thing we have in this generation to Ric Flair, and he shows it routinely by somehow rising above the garbage they book him in. I even hear that one or two people think Chris Benoit is a decent wrestler.
That said...I didn't hear anyone in this thread knocking TNA wrestling. I love AMW. Despite the fact that they got turned from THE tag team in TNA to Dustin Rhodes' lil' buddies. I love Petey Williams. Despite the fact that he went from THE X Division champ to beat, to Random Canadian #327. I love AJ Styles. Despite the fact that he somehow thinks that Christian actually needs to rip off his ring gear. I love Monty Brown. For some reason. I love Abyss. Because Abyss is just cool. I love Raven. Despite the fact that Raven has spent the entire Impact era being everyone's b!tch. There is a LOT about TNA that I love and enjoy, and I have been pretty vocal about that...and TNA management has done a PHENOMENAL job in the last several months of utterly destroying it, and forcing crap like the DX and nWo leftovers on us.
Hey, I know competition is great for the sport. 99% of all the wrestling merchandise I own (that isn't CotG) is WCW. But TNA was never competition, and their utterly incompetent managerial staff has done a better job than Vince McMahon could EVER do of making sure they never will be.
