Card #249 – 10/12/2007 Civic Arena – Pittsburgh, PA
We’re right around the corner from the NWF’s mind boggling 250th show! But before we get there, we have tonight’s big show at the Civic Arena! We’ll have Steve Williams defending the NWF title, the return of Harley Race and lots more! Let’s get to the action…
1. S.D. Jones b Virgil This was a long opener between former tag partners. Virgil’s current partner Danny Doring tried to interfere, but was stuffed by Jones’ partner Cousin Luke. Jones wound up winning with the Headbutt.
2. Larry Hennig b Cousin Luke Hennig was upset about his countout loss to Ilio DiPaolo last week, and took his frustrations out on Luke. The hillbilly managed to make a comeback, but was eventually pinned with a power slam from the Axe.
3. Fabulous Kangaroos b Red Bastien & Yukon Eric Somewhat overlooked in the recent tag bouts involving Yukon Eric is that the Kangaroos continue to avoid the Flying Redheads as a unit. Yukon took a beating when he got caught in the wrong corner. Finally, Bastien got the tag, but due to the lack of chemistry was also double-teamed. Red took two consecutive Boomerangs and was pinned by Costello. A bloody Yukon said his battles with the Kangaroos aren’t over yet.
4. Harley Race b Danny Doring This is Race’s first appearance since losing the NWF Title to Nick Bockwinkel in April 2006. He will most likely be looking to get back at former manager Bobby Heenan and nemesis Bockwinkel. Don’t expect him to align himself with the Mid-South group of Williams, DiBiase and Duggan, as he and DiBiase aren’t on the best of terms either. In this match he took Doring apart, winning with the Piledriver and showing the skills that make him one of the toughest competitors around.
5. Bob Armstrong cor Koko B. Ware Bob was looking to avenge a loss to Koko two weeks ago. Wrestling holds were out the window early on, and this turned into a brawl. Armstrong won all the out of ring skirmishes, and stifled Koko at every turn. The finish saw Bob wanting to get his hands on Sherri Martel for interfering. He used the mic cord to tie Koko to the guardrail and took off after Sherri. Right before the 10 count, he dove back in the ring to get a countout victory.
6. Ray Stevens & Bobby Heenan b Ted DiBiase & Jim Duggan This was a wild one with a lot of trickery that played into the final outcome. Heenan played hit and run the entire bout, but got bounced around a bit as well. The finish saw Heenan pop Duggan with a foreign object and roll him up for the surprise pin! After the bell, Heenan was celebrating like he just won the World Series. The celebration didn’t last too long, because when Hacksaw regained his senses, he grabbed his trusty 2x4 and cleared the ring.
7. Antonino Rocca b Curt Hennig Just a fantastic match packed with action, constant movement and each grappler sticking all their signature moves. It was a fairly fought contest until Rocca kicked out of the second Hennig-Plex. Both Larry Hennig and Ilio DiPaolo were at ringside, but had played the spectator role until this point. Larry tripped up Rocca when he was attempting to finish Curt. That led to a third Hennig-Plex, but Ilio got some payback and tripped Curt. That allowed Rocca to get the Backbreaker in the middle of the ring for the win.
8. Mad Dog Vachon & Jimmy Valiant b Greg Valentine & Ivan Koloff Another amazing match, although quite different in style than the previous bout. Vachon & Valiant were taking a beating, but did a great job of avoiding the Figure 4 and Russian Bearhug. Koloff’s chains were used often, and it looked like a one-sided affair. Both fan favorites were a bloody mess, and Vachon was lying on the arena floor after an attack by Valentine. Out of nowhere, Valiant fought up and got Koloff in trouble. He locked in the Sleeper, and it looked bad for Koloff. Vachon hit a desperation clothesline on Albano, and then grabbed Valentine’s leg to prevent the pin save as Koloff went to sleep.
9. NWF Championship: Rick Rude dq Steve Williams Williams’ first test after Bockwinkel would be no walk in the park. Rude had not lost a singles bout since May and was back atop the rankings. Ravishing Rick had been talking smack about Doc’s “tough guy” reputation, saying that it would be tested in this match. The challenger started fast, and turned a reversal into a Rude Awakening. He played to the crowd, not seeing that Williams had popped right back up. When Rude turned around, Dr. Death sent him flying out of the ring with a football tackle. It wound up with Rude entangled in the ropes, with Doc pounding and saying things like “How tough am I now?” The referee made the mistake of trying to break things up, and was tossed aside by Williams. It meant a DQ loss, but made a big statement to Rude.
The Valiant/Koloff saga continues! Jimmy has had remarkable success against the Russian so far. Race had a solid return match. Jim Duggan was rudely welcomed into the Heenan Family feud. Rick Rude keeps his winning streak going, but at the price of a few lumps on the noggin. Next week it’s the big 250th show back where it all began in McKeesport, PA! Here’s the current lineup:
* The opener will have Hacksaw Jim Duggan one-on-one against manager Bobby “the Brain” Heenan! After the dirty tricks Heenan pulled in the tag match tonight, Duggan will be looking to get his revenge!
* In Special Attraction #1, we’ll hark back to the early years of the NWF, as we bring in Bobo Brazil and the intelligent sensational Destroyer to face the evil foreigners in tag-team action! Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff will have manager Nikita Breznikov in tow for the big battle that could have headlined in 2003!
* Does Jimmy Valiant have Ivan Koloff’s number? Koloff has had great success in singles, but can’t seem to consistently get by the Boogie Woogie Man. They’ll hook up again in singles action on this landmark show!
* We’ll have a tag match with the singles champions and #1 contenders involved! NWF title holder Steve Williams will team with #1 contender for the North American title Ted DiBiase! They will face North American champ The Sheik and Ravishing Rick Rude! It looks like Rude isn’t happy about teaming with the Syrian wildman, but who would be? This one promises to be an intriguing battle of the NWF’s top talent!
* Harley Race isn’t wasting any time! He’s already signed on for a match against Ray Stevens next week, and you know Bobby Heenan isn’t happy that the former 3-time NWF champ is back in the area!
* Special Attraction #2 is a World Junior Heavyweight Title bout, with former champion Bobby Eaton trying to take back the belt from Japanese sensation Tiger Mask! NWF fans are very familiar with Eaton, but have only seen the TV clips of Tiger Mask, who has created a buzz due to his unique martial arts and aerial attacks!
* Your big main event will be a rematch for the NWF Tag-Team belts as popular title holders Antonino Rocca & Ilio DiPaolo face former champs Larry & Curt Hennig! Their last contest ended quickly as Rocca took a nasty fall to the arena floor, but he’s back at 100% as tonight’s match showed!
Big #250 is all set and ready to go! See you next week at The Palisades!

I was trying to boycott this fed for reasons I won't divulge right now but I can't stay away. My #1 fan is going to turn on me, take out all my babyface tag champs, unify the singles titles then sell the fed to the Olsons ;D Thanks KB, #250 is a big hurdle. I think I had just under 400 cards in all the years I played GWF. And that fed wasn't nearly as well booked...at least not for the first three or four years. I'm trying to get caught up in posting results, and hope to be posting the SUPERBOWL by the end of December. In 2008, I'll be keeping results in such a way that I should be able to post shows with some regularity during tax season. That way I won't get months behind like I did in 2007. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Card #250 – 10/19/2007 The Palisades – McKeesport, PA
Once again we’re back where it all began – The Palisades! The site of the NWF’s first show fittingly gets to host #250! We’ve got two special features plus a tag title rematch on the bill, so let’s get to the action…
1. Jim Duggan b Bobby Heenan Ray Stevens jumped Duggan in the aisle before the bell, and it took Hacksaw a while to recover. Heenan was using every dirty trick in the book to get an advantage. Duggan had Heenan pinned, but Stevens interfered again. Luckily, the referee caught him and ejected him from ringside! That spelled disaster for an overmatched Heenan, who was pinned with a Flying Spear. A little revenge for Duggan after last week’s tag match fiasco.
2. Danny Doring & Virgil b Bob & Brad Armstrong The Armstrongs thought they were taking a break from wrestling the Riviera Playboys, but it didn’t quite work out that way. It looked like Brad had the match won when Playboys manager Sherri Martel showed up. She handed Virgil a foreign object, which he used to KO Brad. He then put an unconscious Brad in the Cobra Hold to make it appear he had passed out. Bullet Bob tried to break things up, but Doring was able to hold him off long enough for Virgil to score the controversial win.
3. Roy Heffernan cor Yukon Eric Yukon is after the Kangaroos and manager Red Berry for the injury to his tag partner Danny Hodge. He had the advantage early until Berry, quickly becoming one of the most despised men in the NWF, whacked Yukon in the knee with his cane. Yukon had mobility problems the rest of the match, which gave Heffernan an opening. The big Aussie busted Yukon open. Berry continued to impose himself into the match, and when Yukon made a comeback, the big Alaskan went right for the manager. While chasing Berry, Yukon got blindsided by Heffernan, who clipped the bad knee. That resulted in the countout and frustrated Yukon’s efforts once again.
4. Special Attraction: Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff dq Bobo Brazil & Destroyer Flashback to 2003 - one of the hottest feuds in the area was Bobo Brazil, Red Bastien & Destroyer against Nikita Breznikov’s evil foreigner duo of Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff. Now we’ve brought back the participants to relive those confrontations as a special feature on the 250th show! There’s obviously still some heat left in this one, as tempers flared early. Sheik’s infamous loaded boot came into play, as he rung Destroyer’s bell. After some back and forth action, things got out of hand and Bobo Brazil started Coco Butting everyone in sight, including Breznikov! This led to a DQ but the fans were thrilled to see Bobo & Destroyer bouncing around their old rivals four years after the feud began!
5. Diamond Dallas Page b King Kong Bundy DDP has been performing better now that rib injury #2 has healed. He was able to avoid Bundy’s attempts at a clinch, and kept the mammoth moving in an effort to wear him out. At the finish, Rick Rude tried to interfere, but DDP slammed his rivals’ heads together and got the win with the Diamond Dream.
6. Ivan Koloff b Jimmy Valiant Valiant has frustrated Koloff, and is the only grappler other than The Sheik to hold a pinfall win over him. Valiant was looking good again, but a distraction by Lou Albano allowed Koloff to use his Russian chain to topple the Boogie Woogie Man. A top rope kneedrop finished the job. After the bell, Valiant grabbed the Russian chains and started swinging them wildly to clear the ring.
7. World Junior Heavyweight Championship: Tiger Mask b Bobby Eaton Beautiful Bobby (sans manager Jim Cornette) was challenging for the title that he previously held against Japanese sensation Tiger Mask. It was the first appearance for Tiger Mask, and he made a lasting impression, getting the win in just under five minutes. A Space Flying Tiger Drop and Tiger Suplex did Eaton in, and the crowd was amazed at the speed and agility of the current champion. About the only positive thing for Eaton was that he got to spend some time with former partner Dennis Condrey during the week leading to the event.
8. Steve Williams & Ted DiBiase dq The Sheik & Rick Rude This was a “Champions vs. Challengers” tag bout, with NWF kingpin Steve Williams and North American titleholder The Sheik on opposite sides against the #1 contenders for their respective titles. Oddly, Sheik & Rude teamed once before in a similar style match. Despite the DQ win, it wasn’t a good night for regular partners DiBiase & Doc. They struggled against Sheik & Rude, but it wound up with Sheik being DQ’d for refusing to break a blatant choke, then knocking the ref aside in order to continue. The crowd was on the edge of their seats anticipating the encounter between Williams and The Sheik, but they were never in the ring at the same time.
9. Harley Race b Ray Stevens Really good action between these two tough competitors. In only his second match back since returning to the area, Race is got right into the thick of things, going after former manager Bobby Heenan and his “Family.” The former 3-time NWF champ looked like he had this one in the bag until Heenan started interfering. That gave Stevens the chance to use the Bombs Away, but in a surprise – Race was saved from the pinfall by Larry & Curt Hennig! Race came back to win with a flying cross body in an exciting bout. Race & Larry Hennig have a long history and were tag partners for years, and it appears this new trio will be a thorn in the side of Bobby Heenan. Larry Hennig is no fan of Heenan, especially since “the Brain” has tried to recruit Curt into his stable in recent weeks.
10. NWF Tag-Team Championship: Antonino Rocca & Ilio DiPaolo b Larry & Curt Hennig The popular combo of Rocca & DiPaolo faced the former champs after losing a fluke DQ last time out. Harley Race was at ringside for the Hennigs, but didn’t play a part in the outcome. Rocca was in deep trouble right away, twice surviving a Hennig-Plex and a thrashing from big Larry. A weary Rocca finally made the tag to Ilio, and the feisty Italian cleaned house! The finish saw Ilio setting Larry up for the Airplane Spin. Curt started climbing the turnbuckle, perhaps looking to land a big double axehandle on DiPaolo to break things up. Just as Curt got to the top, Bobby Heenan appeared out of nowhere and pushed him off the buckle and onto Race at ringside. Heenan turned around and sprinted to the back, laughing all the way. That gave Ilio the opportunity to hoist Larry up, whirl him around and stick him for the victory!
Well, the battle looks to have already started between the Heenan Family and Harley Race and the Hennigs! A surprise alliance, then Heenan costing the challengers a chance to win the tag gold! What a crazy way to end the 250th show! With one landmark behind us, we’ll start looking toward the end of the year and SUPERBOWL OF WRESTLING 5! It’s a little early to plan for that, but here’s what’s on tap next week at the Akron Armory:
* As a result of the wild finish this week, we’ll see the Armstrongs take on Danny Doring & Playboy Buddy Rose! You can be sure Sherri Martel will get involved as well, but the more aggressive Armstrongs won’t back down from a fight!
* Hacksaw Jim Duggan will face Harley Race! You can bet this one will be hard hitting, as it seems that the headline feud in the NWF is becoming a three faction affair! The Heenan Family will have their hands full as Race & the Hennigs join the party with Williams, DiBiase & Duggan!
* DDP once again goes one-on-one with mammoth King Kong Bundy! The former partners just can’t seem to settle their old score, and Bundy would like nothing more than to inflict rib injury #3 on DDP!
* Yukon Eric continues his quest to make life miserable for the Fabulous Kangaroos and manager Red Berry! The big man will team with Billy “Red” Lyons to face the undefeated Aussie team once again!
* Larry Hennig is hot about the tag title loss, and will take out his frustrations on Heenan Family member and former North American champ Larry Zbyszko! The self-proclaimed “living legend” has been a little lost in the shuffle recently, as Bobby Heenan seems to be concentrating on the getting a tag title shot for Nick Bockwinkel & Ray Stevens!
* The confrontations between Jimmy Valiant and Ivan Koloff continue – this time in tag-team action! Valiant & Mad Dog Vachon will square off against Lou Albano’s duo of Koloff & Greg Valentine! The teams have split wins in their previous meetings, and things get more heated every time Valiant beats Koloff!
* Your big main event will see The Sheik defend the North American Title against top contender Ted DiBiase! Abdullah Farouk is touting Sheik as a lock for the 2007 Wrestler of the Year award, but that’s putting the cart before the horse, especially with Bockwinkel’s record setting title reign! DiBiase has been stellar of late, with wins over all three Heenan Family members and a perfect 6-0 record in singles since returning to the area! The Sheik is…well…he’s The Sheik!
It looks like another great lineup next week in Akron!

Card #250 – 10/19/2007 The Palisades – McKeesport, PA The crowd was on the edge of their seats anticipating the encounter between Williams and The Sheik, but they were never in the ring at the same time. You know what I want and you won't even give it to me in a tag match for christ sake. Great show though, top to bottom it was fan'friggin'tastic. The NWF is the best there is, the best was and ........we'll see

Card #251 – 10/26/2007 Akron Armory – Akron, OH
The NWF’s big 250th show was fantastic, and we’re hoping for another great show this week! The undefeated Kangaroos are in action, local hero Ilio DiPaolo is in action, and The Sheik is a fitting character to have on the pre-Halloween card! Let’s get to the action…
1. Virgil b Cousin Luke Virgil & Doring had been trash talking the Armstrongs all week after their tainted victory in McKeesport. Luke struggled at first, but it looked like he was about to get the win when he climbed to the top to attempt a big splash. Sherri Martel (sans neck brace) ran down the aisle and pushed the hillbilly, causing Luke to fall face first to the mat. Virgil locked on the Cobra Clutch for the win. Brad Armstrong ran out and chased Sherri around the ring. Virgil grabbed Armstrong, which wasn’t a good idea. After listening to Virgil bad mouth his family all week long, Armstrong laid Virgil out with a Russian Legsweep on the concrete floor! Virgil was in really bad shape and had to be carried to the back.
2. Bob & Brad Armstrong b Playboy Buddy Rose & Danny Doring After the last match, Doring was fearful of even coming to the ring, and rightfully so. The Armstrongs punished both opponents, showing their new “take no prisoners” attitudes. Brad wound up putting Doring away with a kneelift to win the match. Both Armstrongs then went after Sherri Martel once again, who escaped to the dressing room with Rose.
3. Jim Duggan b Harley Race Race was attacked on his way to the ring by Nick Bockwinkel & Ray Stevens. In a surprise, it was Duggan that actually ran the Heenan Family off with his 2x4. Hacksaw then went back to the ring, waiting to see if Race would compete. The former 3-time NWF champ made it to the ring, although a little worse for the wear. Still, it took an incredible performance by Duggan to get this huge upset victory. Hacksaw used the Flying Spear 5 times in the match, including 4 in a row, to put Race down for the three count.
4. King Kong Bundy b Diamond Dallas Page DDP and Bundy are still going at it. DDP faltered early, but came back strong hitting three straight Diamond Cutters! Bundy got a leg on the ropes twice, and had partner Rick Rude save him on the third. Later, Bundy hit an Avalanche, but DDP kicked out at 4 ½! Bundy kept working the back, and eventually got the win with a bearhug.
5. Fabulous Kangaroos b Yukon Eric & Billy “Red” Lyons Another good match between the Kangaroos and a mismatched combo of Yukon Eric with one of the Flying Redheads. Wild Red Berry says that the ‘Roos are not avoiding the Redheads at all, and noted that the teams had signed for a series of bouts, including a six-man tag next week. Yukon was less mobile than usual, still feeling the effects of Berry’s cane shot last week. The Kangaroos took advantage of that, and worked over the big Alaskan’s leg, getting a win when Heffernan trapped him in the Stepover Toehold. That makes the Aussie team a perfect 6-0 since their NWF debut.
6. Larry Zbyszko b Larry Hennig Zbyszko has been quiet of late (a rarity) and has not been used by Heenan that often. The Brain has been busy trying to get Bockwinkel & Stevens a tag title shot in two weeks, and to his credit, was successful. The self-proclaimed living legend took advantage of the opportunity, scoring a win in this fairly one-sided bout. Hennig got caught with a Piledriver early, and never quite recovered. Instead of doing the standard 10 head rams into the buckle, Zbyszko did it around 35 times to Hennig to get the win. Heenan didn’t seem to have time to celebrate, as he was worried about Stevens’ match coming up next.
7. Ray Stevens dq Ilio DiPaolo As a precursor to their upcoming tag title bout, this bout was signed. Heenan seemed back to his usual self at ringside. He distracted the referee while Stevens used the mic cord to choke Ilio, and was a general nuisance. Ilio fought back and reversed the situation, strangling Stevens, who was flailing wildly trying to escape. Heenan then went out of his way to point out the rules infraction, causing DiPaolo to be DQ’d. Ilio and his fans were not happy with the decision, and the hot tempered Italian said he would finish the job next week!
8. Mad Dog Vachon & Jimmy Valiant dq Greg Valentine & Ivan Koloff Good action with Vachon & Valiant reaching a boiling point. Lots of crazy brawling, with Koloff and Valiant at the center of it all. Eventually Koloff was DQ’d against the Boogie Woogie Man, and grabbed his Russian chains to finish the job. Valiant grabbed Vachon’s Algerian chains and the two had a standoff in the middle of the ring before things were broken up.
9. North American Championship: The Sheik cor Ted DiBiase DiBiase came in on a 6-0 run since his return to the area, and has showcased both technical and brawling skills. Sheik, who manager Abdullah Farouk is touting as the 2007 Wrestler of the Year, is the master of winning matches by pummeling opponents outside the ring. DiBiase never got on track, as the match went to the floor almost immediately. Sheik used his ever-present foreign object to bust DiBiase open. It took some time, but Sheik frustrated DiBiase with his illegal tactics. It came down to a battle outside the ring where a weary DiBiase took a slingshot into the ringside steps and was counted out. With the win, Sheik will move into a tie for 5th place on the list of NWF’s longest titles reigns, tied with the tag title run of Buddy Rogers & Jimmy Snuka at 210 days!
I know it’s been said before, but – can anyone beat The Sheik? Unholy Reign of Terror #2 continues, with no end in sight. Next week we take a trip to one of the NWF’s anchor cities, Cleveland! Here’s the current lineup:
* For the first time in the NWF, we’ll get to see the legendary team of Harley Race & Larry Hennig! Larry takes a break from teaming with his son to team with former long-time partner Race! Will the team show some ring rust, or will it be like riding a bicycle? We’ll find out in Cleveland.
* Fresh off his upset win over Harley Race, Hacksaw Jim Duggan will face Curt Hennig! Duggan will be the underdog once again. Can he pull off two huge upsets in a row?
* You’ll see a 3 on 2 handicap match as the Riviera Playboys team with Danny Doring to take on Bob & Brad Armstrong! Doring’s partner Virgil will be out indefinitely after this week’s injury. The Playboys and Sherri Martel offered up this match, knowing the Armstrongs never back down from a challenge!
* The Cleveland Arena will also host a wild six-man tag match! On one side will be the Fabulous Kangaroos teaming with manager Red Berry! They’ll face the Flying Redheads and Yukon Eric! This will finally be the first time the Kangaroos and Redheads are together in a match!
* You knew it was coming – Ivan Koloff faces Jimmy Valiant in a Russian Chain Match! With Koloff’s chains coming into play so often, this was bound to happen. Valiant has beaten the Russian Bear before, but can defeat Koloff in his signature match?
* Your big main event will see Ravishing Rick Rude try to extend his five match win streak against NWF Champion Steve Williams! Rude didn’t look great in their last match, but made “Dr. Death” lose his cool and escaped with a DQ win! Can Rude become the next NWF Champion? We’ll find out next week in Cleveland!

Card #251 – 10/26/2007 Akron Armory – Akron, OHVirgil b Cousin Luke Virgil & Doring had been trash talking the Armstrongs all week after their tainted victory in McKeesport. After listening to Virgil bad mouth his family all week long, Armstrong laid Virgil out with a Russian Legsweep on the concrete floor! Virgil was in really bad shape and had to be carried to the back. Armstrongs are better than this feud but hey.2. See match ones comments, Bob and Brad need to climb the card a bit IMO3. WOW! Race loses to Duggan, AGAIN WOW!4. DDP better find another feud or evetually he's gonna get squashed, litterly.5. The Kangaroos are flat out amazing and probably the best tag-team ever ( in Legends). The tag titles are coming their way, it's only a matter of time.6. Zybszko is kickass and championship matriel.7. He's not called the Brain for nothing but Stevens should destroy Dipaolo on his own every time. If Stevens and Bockwinkel win the tag titles will the Kangaroos ever get a title shot with both teams being heels?8. Koloff and Valiant has been a great feud and now Mad Dog's involved. Look out.9. Damn it! Can't anybody stop this reign of terror? Sheik should have been DQed IMO and Dibiase should be 7-0.* For the first time in the NWF, we’ll get to see the legendary team of Harley Race & Larry Hennig! Larry takes a break from teaming with his son to team with former long-time partner Race! Will the team show some ring rust, or will it be like riding a bicycle? We’ll find out in Cleveland. Should beat who ever they face unless of course it the Kangaroos.* Fresh off his upset win over Harley Race, Hacksaw Jim Duggan will face Curt Hennig! Four on two is too much for anyone, fourth being Sherri on the outside.* The Cleveland Arena will also host a wild six-man tag match! On one side will be the Fabulous Kangaroos teaming with manager Red Berry! They’ll face the Flying Redheads and Yukon Eric! This will finally be the first time the Kangaroos and Redheads are together in a match! Tag title bound baby!* You knew it was coming – Ivan Koloff faces Jimmy Valiant in a Russian Chain Match! With Koloff’s chains coming into play so often, this was bound to happen. Valiant has beaten the Russian Bear before, but can defeat Koloff in his signature match? NOPE !* Your big main event will see Ravishing Rick Rude try to extend his five match win streak against NWF Champion Steve Williams! Rude didn’t look great in their last match, but made “Dr. Death” lose his cool and escaped with a DQ win! Can Rude become the next NWF Champion? We’ll find out next week in Cleveland! RUDE WINS! RUDE WINS! RUDE WINS THE TITLE! OMG!The NWF rules........ Even if it won't give the Sheik a Hwt. title match.

WOW! Race loses to Duggan, AGAIN WOW! I'm glad to see that this happened to someone else, not just for me in the USWA! "Hacksaw" and Race had good matches for me. I know Duggan pinned him at least once, maybe even twice.

KB - a few notes on your comments:
Armstrongs started off so bad they're lucky to have the Riviera Playboys. I still like the dynamic between the teams - on the whole, they have very good matches. 2008 will bring new challenges for Bob & Brad.
I know you hate the Redheads, but you'll have to put up with them fighting the Kangaroos for a while. I'm going somwhere with this, and as long as the Kangaroos continue to do well, they will get a title shot down the line. However, I want to resolve their issue with the Redheads first.
To be honest, I thought Ted DiBiase was going to be the one to beat Sheik as well. Once Sheik gets "out of the ring" it seems like he always winds up on L3O and goes to town on people.

Card #252 – 11/02/2007 Cleveland Arena – Cleveland, OH
We’re back in Cleveland for another big night of NWF action! We’ve got the Redheads versus Kangaroos (finally) in a six-man, a Russian Chain Match and the NWF Title on the line! Let’s get to the action…
1. Harley Race & Larry Hennig dq S.D. Jones & Cousin Luke The legendary team of Race & Hennig showed some ring rust, and had a tougher time than expected. The finish saw S.D. attempt a top rope bodypress. Hennig quickly pulled the referee in front of the airborne the way Jones. The ref went down like a ton of bricks. When he finally recovered, he surprisingly DQ’d Jones for knocking him out. Not a good first outing for Race & Hennig.
2. King Kong Bundy b Dennis Condrey Once again Condrey looked tough in singles and was able to get the mammoth Bundy on the mat. He may have won if not for interference by Rick Rude that turned his fortunes around. Condrey missed a turnbuckle charge, and Bundy followed with an Avalanche to get the full five count.
3. Jim Duggan b Curt Hennig After beating Harley Race last week, the surprising Duggan scores his second big upset win in a row! Race was ringside, but his one attempt at interfering backfired. Duggan used the Flying Spear for the big win.
4. Riviera Playboys & Danny Doring dq Bob & Brad Armstrong Doring will be looking for a new tag partner as Virgil is out indefinitely with an injury. Armstrongs were in control for most of the match, and were on the way to a victory when Rose popped Brad with a foreign object and hit the Bombs Away. Bullet Bob lost it, grabbed a steel chair and hit the ring! The Playboys and Doring all bailed out before the ref could count the groggy Brad down. Despite the DQ loss, the fans have really taken to the more aggressive attitudes of the Armstrongs.
5. Greg Valentine dq Mad Dog Vachon A good hard hitting bout where both men used their finishing move, but had the opponent escape. Greg was getting pounded, and Albano was doing everything in his power to stop it. The Captain tried to hand Valentine a chair to use, but Mad Dog knocked it away with his chains, then used the chains to smack the Hammer in the noggin for the DQ.
6. Nick Bockwinkel b Antonino Rocca These two met in April when Rocca was challenging for the NWF title. Now Bockwinkel steps into the challenger role for the tag belts held by Rocca & Ilio DiPaolo. After some rough outings recently, Bockwinkel cranked it up against the surging Rocca, who had won 7 of his last 8 bouts. Manager Bobby Heenan had Bock working Rocca’s legs to keep the flier grounded. The strategy led to Bockwinkel winning with the Figure 4 Leglock. Rocca may have conceded a little earlier than he normally would have, knowing that he’ll need to be at 100% next week in the tag title match.
7. Fabulous Kangaroos & Wild Red Berry cor Flying Redheads & Yukon Eric We finally have the first match with the Redheads and Kangaroos in the same ring, but still have to wait for their first heads up meeting! Yukon was showing signs of knee damage after taking multiple shots from Red Berry’s cane in recent weeks. This was a very good bout with the Kangaroos exploiting Yukon’s injury. Berry never tagged in until the very end, using his Gilligan Twist on Yukon, who was almost immobile by that point. He tossed the big Alaskan through the ropes to the floor, where Yukon was counted out. After being looked at by doctor’s after the match, it appears Yukon will not be wrestling for some time.
8. Ivan Koloff b Jimmy Valiant (Russian Chain Match) In a proactive move to prevent any controversy, the referee sent both Mad Dog Vachon and Lou Albano to their respective locker rooms before the bell. Loud “USA” chants from the start. Koloff quickly had Valiant busted open from shots with the chain. As always, Valiant fought back and almost put Koloff out with the Sleeper. The Russian Bear kept whipping Valiant’s back with the chain, clearly softening his opponent up for the Bearhug, which eventually did Jimmy in. After the bell, it looked like Koloff was going to do more damage, but Vachon hit the ring swinging his Algerian chains to save the day.
9. NWF Championship: Steve Williams b Rick Rude Williams came out with something to prove. After losing his temper in their last meeting, Doc was focused on getting a clean win. It wasn’t going to be easy, as Ravishing Rick’s tights were airbrushed with a likeness of Williams in a tutu. Dr. Death kept his cool, and dominated the action, winning with the Oklahoma Stampede. Williams becomes only the third man (besides Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens) to pin Rude.
There you have it NWF fans! Just when it looked like things might be coming to an end between Vachon/Valiant and Albano, things got kicked up instead! Wild Red Berry has quickly become a hated man, as he preaches technical excellence but has injured two men with his blatant interference. Next week we head to Altoona and the Jaffa Mosque! Here’s the current lineup:
* Due to Virgil’s injury, “Dastardly” Danny Doring went out and found himself a new tag-team partner! He will be forming a regular team with “Pretty Boy” Larry Sharpe! The new duo faces tough competition right off the bat, as they meet Bob & Brad Armstrong in tag-team action next week!
* The Flying Redheads and Fabulous Kangaroos will face one another in singles matches, with Red Bastien drawing Al Costello and Billy “Red” Lyons facing Roy Heffernan! In two weeks, the teams are FINALLY scheduled to meet in tag-team action!
* DDP & Dennis Condrey square off against King Kong Bundy & Rick Rude!
* The Boogie Woogie Man Jimmy Valiant may have been defeated by Ivan Koloff, but hasn’t given up yet! Next week he faces Koloff’s tag partner Greg Valentine! With a victory, the Hammer would put himself in line for a shot at the NWF Title! Manager Lou Albano is confident that Valentine will be the next NWF champion!
* Ted DiBiase and Jim Duggan will team up. They’ll face the men that Duggan has upset in singles matches the last two weeks, Harley Race & Curt Hennig!
* Larry Hennig, who is not fond of anyone remotely associated with Bobby Heenan, takes on Larry Zbyszko!
* The NWF Tag-Team Titles will be on the line in your big main event! Antonino Rocca & Ilio DiPaolo defend against the Heenan Family combo of Nick Bockwinkel & Ray Stevens! Bockwinkel & Stevens have a stellar record as a team, but were never able to challenge for the belts since Bockwinkel held the NWF Title. As a side note, Bobby Heenan shot back at recent claims by Abdullah Farouk that The Sheik will undoubtedly win the NWF’s 2007 Wrestler of the Year award. Heenan said if the voting were held today, Nick Bockwinkel should get every vote, including Farouk’s!
See you next week in Altoona!

Another great NWF show! I'm hoping that Bock & Stevens take the tag straps next week. Greg Valentine as future NWF champ, what's Albano thinking?

Duggan is looking like a legit contender. Can a title shot be far off ( World or NA )? You must have been at the latest NWF Board of Directors meeting! As a result of his wins over Harley Race and Curt Hennig, Hacksaw Jim Duggan will challenge The Sheik for the North American Title on November 16th at the Erie County Fieldhouse!

Card #253 – 11/09/2007 Jaffa Mosque – Altoona, PA
We’re back in Altoona with a great show! The Redheads and Kangaroos go at it in singles, Hacksaw Jim Duggan goes for another upset in tag action, and the NWF’s most popular tag-team puts the belts on the line! Let’s get to the action…
1. Playboy Buddy Rose b S.D. Jones Special Delivery gave Rose everything he could handle, but the Playboy and manager Sherri Martel’s have an arsenal of dirty tricks that got them the victory. At one point, Bob Armstrong showed up at ringside to give S.D. an advantage, but it wasn’t enough. Rose used an awkward, but effective, flying crossbody for the win.
2. Bob & Brad Armstrong b Danny Doring & Larry Sharpe With Virgil out due to injury, “Pretty Boy” Larry Sharpe steps in as Doring’s new tag partner. Once again the Armstrongs were waylaid by interference from the Riviera Playboys. Koko tripped up Brad allowing Sharpe to score a near fall with the Piledriver. Bob chased the Playboys away with a steel chair, and Brad finally made the tag. The match was competitive, but Bob put Sharpe away with some devastating karate chops.
3. Billy “Red” Lyons b Roy Heffernan Bastien was ringside with his partner to counteract manager Red Berry. At one point during an out of the ring scuffle, Berry was holding Lyons’ against the ring post. Heffernan tried a running charge, but Bastien saved as the Kangaroo went head first into the steel post. Blood was everywhere. It got worse as Lyons worked him over with finishers and aerial moves, winning with the Figure 4 Leglock. Heffernan was an ungodly mess (8 fatigue) by the end of the bout.
4. Diamond Dallas Page & Dennis Condrey cor King Kong Bundy & Rick Rude It was a long night for Ravishing Rick Rude. After calling the crowd Altoona Airheads, he got cornered by the opposition and pounded. He took a Diamond Cutter and four Face First Legsweeps and was a bloody wreck, although nothing even close to Heffernan in the previous bout. Rude managed a weak comeback and attempted a piledriver on Condrey. Loverboy Dennis backdropped him over the top rope to the concrete floor, where Rude was counted out.
5. Larry Zbyszko cor Larry Hennig Harley Race & the Hennigs have become the “tweeners” in the battle between the Heenan Family and the Williams/DiBiase/Duggan team. They are cheered against Heenan, but booed against the fan favorites. This was a good battle, with each man surviving the other’s finisher. It wound up in a brawl outside the ring. Zbyszko rolled back in, but Heenan was lying on the arena floor holding Hennig’s leg. Hennig is a powerhouse, and dragged Heenan as he tried to beat the 10 count. He was about 75% of the way back in, but the Heenan “ball and chain” tactic worked, resulting in the countout.
6. Al Costello dq Red Bastien The captains of the Redheads and Kangaroos faced off in this one. Red had some early success, but Red Berry was fired up after the earlier loss by Heffernan. Lyons came to ringside about halfway through the bout. Costello’s best offense was choking Bastien with the tape on his wrists, which he did often. After trying to point the illegal tactic out to the referee several times, Lyons finally dove in the ring and nailed Costello with a double hammer to break things up, but got called for the DQ. The Redheads then sent Costello flying through the ropes onto Berry with a double dropkick.
7. Harley Race & Curt Hennig b Ted DiBiase & Jim Duggan Duggan had upset Race and Hennig in singles matches the past two weeks, and has been granted the next title shot at The Sheik’s North American Title. Hacksaw almost pinned each of his opponents again in this match, and was on fire. The Sheik’s manager Abdullah Farouk showed up briefly and distracted Duggan, turning things around. Hacksaw got trapped in the opponent’s corner. Race & Hennig battered him, and were able to keep DiBiase at bay. Race got the big pin on Hacksaw with a diving headbutt.
8. Greg Valentine b Jimmy Valiant It was a fast start by Valiant, but he couldn’t keep up the pace after the beating he took last week in the Russian Chain Match. Valentine had a lot riding on this bout, as he was being considered for the next NWF Title shot. The Hammer went to work on Valiant’s leg. The Boogie Woogie Man reversed one Figure 4 attempt, and was saved on another by partner Mad Dog Vachon. Valentine was methodical, and eventually won with the Figure 4 Leglock. After the match, manager Lou Albano claimed the Figure 4 would be the move Valentine would use to win the NWF belt!
9. NWF Tag-Team Championship: Nick Bockwinkel & Ray Stevens b Antonino Rocca & Ilio DiPaolo to win titles The champs had won 5 of their last 6 coming in, and the challengers had a cumulative 11-2 record since they started teaming. This was a fantastic match where everyone took a beating, but also dished some punishment out. The tag titles have been on Heenan’s mind ever since his feud with Lou Albano earlier in the year. The Brain may have been the difference in this one, as it was an extremely close bout with lots of finishers and near falls. Bockwinkel ended the classic battle, putting Ilio away with the Bockwinkel Sleeper to win the tag gold! It was the first title change in Altoona since 2004, when the Valiant upended the Road Warriors for the tag titles.
We have new tag-team champions and a new #1 contender for Steve Williams’ NWF Title! Next week head to Erie, PA for another big show! Here’s the current lineup:
* We finally get the first tag match between the Flying Redheads and Fabulous Kangaroos! It looks like ‘Roos manager Wild Red Berry finally ran out of excuses to avoid facing the Redheads!
* Ivan Koloff comes off a big win in this week’s Russian Chain Match, but may be going from the frying pan into the fire! He’ll tackle another chain wielding ruffian next week - Valiant’s partner Mad Dog Vachon!
* Harley Race & Larry Hennig will face the Heenan Family combo of Ray Stevens & Larry Zbyszko! Former North American champ Zbyszko has been upset about his lack of top singles matches lately, as Heenan has been focused on the Bockwinkel/Stevens tag-team. Race & Hennig were a little rusty in their first match back together as a team, and will need their “A” game next week!
* Former NWF champ Nick Bockwinkel will go one-on-one against Curt Hennig! Bobby Heenan has tried his best to recruit Hennig into the Heenan Family, but to no avail. Now Curt will face Heenan’s top star in what could be the match of the night!
* With his victory over Jimmy Valiant, Greg Valentine has moved to the top contender spot for the NWF Title held by Steve Williams! Next week, those two will face off in tag-team action as Williams teams with Ted DiBiase and Valentine teams with manager Lou Albano!
* Your big main event will see Hacksaw Jim Duggan attempting to win the North American title and end The Sheik’s unholy reign of terror! Duggan has taken down both Harley Race and Curt Hennig recently – can he take his winning streak to the next level and upend the most dominant North American champ ever?
Get ready for a blowout next week in Erie!

I like the idea of Page and Condrey teaming together. Will they be a permanent tag team or is this just a team up to battle common enemies?
Great fed!!!!

I like the idea of Page and Condrey teaming together. Will they be a permanent tag team or is this just a team up to battle common enemies? DDP was looking for someone who would be a good tag partner, so Condrey is kind of a hired gun. I see them as two guys who team, but don't hang with the same crowd or spend time together outside the ring.
