Yeah, basketball games against Utah, especially when Majerus was the coach, were always among my favorite when I went to school at UNLV.

Major League Wrestling (MLW) NWA:NITRO Friday September 29, 2006 Jon M. Huntsman Center & University of Utah Salt Lake City, Utah (First Half of the show)
With only 7 days to go until Major League Wrestling's (MLW's) season premier on VEGAS TV and with only 9 days to go until Sin City Showdown, the NWA brand of Major League Wrestling presents NITRO!
Match #1: Rick Rude pinned the Boogie Woogie Man. Before the match began, Rude told the Utah crowd that he needed all the so-called men here to keep the noise down while he took his robe off so he could show the six wives that each of them had what a real man looked like. Rude controlled the action for about 95% of the match and toward the end hit the Boogie Woogie Man with a RUDE AWAKENING but surprisingly raised the Boogie Woogie Man's head to break up the 3 count. Rude immediately hit the Boogie Woogie Man with another RUDE AWAKENING and this time mercifully allowed the referee to perform the complete 3 count for the win. Rude continues his recent run of success.
Sammartino's Office: MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino is in his office with the Crusher who wrestles for MLW's AWA brand. Sammartino reminds everyone about his Press Release (posted yesterday) that the season premiere of Major League Wrestling will be next Friday October 6 on its new channel VEGAS TV. Sammartino further reminds everyone that on next week's season premiere, the AWA and NWA brands will not have separate 2 hour shows but will combine to have a four hour show together on the same night before resuming their separate broadcast schedule in the following weeks.
To emphasize that both of MLW's brands will be participating on the same show next week, Sammartino says he has invited the Crusher from the AWA brand over to the NWA brand this week to select his opponent for next week's season premiere. Sammartino explains to the Crusher that he knows that the Crusher wants to get his hands on the Heenan family and that he (Sammartino) has put the names of every member of the Heenan Family on a piece of paper in a box and he wants the Crusher to reach in and grab a paper to determine what member of the Heenan Family he will wrestle next week on Major League Wrestling's season premiere. The Crusher reaches into the box and laughs when he sees that the paper he has selected has Bobby Heenan's name on it. So on next week's season premiere for Major League Wrestling, it will be the Crusher vs Bobby Heenan!
Backstage: Rude is walking down the corridor when he runs into Diamond Doll Maxine Babe who he makes a pass at while posing his body suggestively. Suddenly, Diamond Dallas Page shows up and exchanges some heated words with Rude which leads to both men challenging each other to a match at Sin City Showdown!
Contract Signing: MLW Frank Gotch and United States Champion Buddy Rogers are in the ring signing their contract to wrestle each other in their "I Quit" steel cage match for Gotch's MLW Championship in the main event at Sin City Showdown. After the contract is signed, Rogers' fellow Horsemen the United States Tag Team Champions the Valentines suddenly arrive and along with Rogers proceed to attack Gotch. Dan Severn and Giant Baba, who are challenging the Valentines at Sin City Showdown, come down to the ring to help Gotch and begin brawling with Rogers and the Valentines. Sammartino then stops the fighting by announcing that tonight's main event will be Gotch, Severn, and Baba wrestling Rogers and the Valentines in a 6 man tag team match!
Match #2: MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino vs the Terrible Turk was a Double DQ. Before making a rare wrestling appearance since retiring to form Major League Wrestling, Sammartino announced before the match that Ivan Koloff's 30 day suspension is coming to its scheduled end for attacking Sammartino backstage with his steel chain. Sammartino reminds everyone of his scheduled chain match against his longtime enemy Koloff at Sin City Showdown and announces that that first he will wrestle Koloff in a regular wrestling match next week on the MLW's season premiere on VEGAS TV just 2 days before Sin City Showdown. But first, Sammartino says he wants to get some more practice in by wrestling Koloff's cohort the Terrible Turk tonight.
Sammartino seemed to have his Koloff on his mind during his match against the Terrible Turk as he seemed focused more on aggressively combating the Terrible Turk than he did on following the rules as the action spilled outside of the ring where both men engaged in violent brawl that led to a double DQ. After the match, Sammartino said that to ensure this same outcome does not happen next week when he wrestles Koloff that their match on Major League Wrestling's season premiere will be a lumber jack match!
(Note: I am using the LOW Bootlegs card for Sammartino. But after Sin City Showdown, Sammartino will probably go back to just being MLW's chairman).
Match #3: Fabulous Kangaroos and their manager Captain Kangaroo (formerly Albano) defeated the World Tag Team Champions Midnight Express (Stan Lane and Dennis Condrey) and their manager Jim Cornette (accompanied by Bobby Eaton) in a 6 man non-title tag team match. For this match, Cornette chose Lane and Condrey to wrestle alongside him. But it is still unknown which two members of the Midnight Express Cornette will select to defend the World Tag Team Championship against the Kangaroos at Sin City Showdown.
Most of the match involved Roy Heffernan and Al Costello wrestling either Lane or Condrey without the managers tagging in. But toward the end, Condrey had Heffernan in trouble which led to Cornette eagerly asking to get tagged in. Cornette hit Heffernan with some wild punches but Heffernan made a defensive tag to Captain Kangaroo (Albano). Cornette held onto the ropes to block a hip toss from Captain Kangaroo and then hit him with an arm wringer. But Captain Kangaroo then dodged an attempted bite to the head by Cornette and responded with a kick to the midsection followed by a low blow that led to a pin attempt that was broken up by Condrey. Captain Kangaroo then tagged in Costello who hit Cornette with an Aussie Suplex followed by repeated forearm smashes that led to a successful pinfall against Cornette as Heffernan and Captain Kangaroo managed to cut off Lane, Condrey, and Eaton from interfering before the referee finished the 3 count.
End of First Half. Second Half will be posted next and will include tonight's main event of MLW Champion Frank Gotch, Dan Severn, and Giant Baba competing against United States Champion Buddy Rogers and the United States Tag Team Champions the Valentines in a 6 man tag team match.

Major League Wrestling (MLW) NWA:NITRO Friday September 29, 2006 Jon M. Huntsman Center & University of Utah Salt Lake City, Utah (Second Half of the show, First half is posted above)
Match #4: Dungeon of Doom: Bruiser Brody and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams (managed by Killer Kowalski) defeated the Armstrongs. Brody and Williams completely dominated the Armstrongs and picked up the easy victory when Brody pinned Brad Armstrong via a JUMPING KNEE SMASH. After picking up the victory, at Kowalski's directions, Brody and Williams continued attacking the Armstrongs until the Road Warriors came out to chase them away. Hawk then got on the microphone and told Brody and Williams that in their upcoming steel cage match at Sin City Showdown "When we get done with you, it's gonna look like we set your faces on fire and put them out with an ax."
Hot Seat: Harley Race is the guest this week once again. -Race tells Bill Apter that so far nobody has been brave enough to accept his open challenge for a match at Sin City Showdown -Apter replies that he has been informed that someone has actually accepted Race's challenge and here he comes now: Ted DiBiase (Legends Teams card) -Race says that since Ted DiBiase usually only wrestles on MLW's "B" show, that he won't have a problem against Ted DiBiase at Sin City Showdown
Add for Sin City Showdown: Sin City Showdown Sunday October 8 Las Vegas, NV 1. MLW Champion Frank Gotch vs United States Champion Buddy Rogers 2. Road Warriors vs Bruiser Brody and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams in a steel cage match. 3. Fabulous Kangaroos vs World Tag Team Champions Midnight Express in a best 2 out of 3 falls match 4. MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino vs Ivan Koloff in a steel chain match 5. Dan Severn and Giant Baba vs United States Tag Team Champions the Valentines 6. Ted DiBiase (Legends Teams card) vs Harley Race
Match #5: MLW Champion Frank Gotch, Dan Severn, and Giant Baba defeated United States Champion Buddy Rogers and United States Tag Team Champions the Valentines by DQ. Harley Race accompanied the other members (Rogers and the Valentines) of the Four Horsemen to ringside for this match which led Ted DiBiase to accompany Gotch, Severn, and Baba. The match ended when Rogers threw Gotch out of the ring where Race and the Valentines proceeded to gang up and attack Gotch in an apparent attempt to hurt him prior to Gotch's "I Quit" steel cage match vs Rogers for the MLW Championship at Sin City Showdown.
The referee immediately called for the bell and then Baba, Severn, and DiBiase joined the brawl which got broken up only after Sammartino appeared again and announced that the main event on next week's season debut for Major League Wrestling (MLW) on VEGAS TV would feature all Four Horsemen (Rogers, Race, and the Valentines) teaming up all together for the first-time ever in a single match to take on their various Sin City Showdown opponents: MLW Champion Frank Gotch, Ted DiBiase, Dan Severn, and Giant Baba in an 8 man tag team match!
End of show. Screen fades to black.
See you next Friday (October 6) when both the AWA and the NWA brands present the 4 hour season premiere of Major League Wrestling on VEGAS TV and then on Sunday October 8 for Sin City Showdown!

You know, you could have really played off the stereotype Mormon 5 wives with Rick Rude! Would have been fun! Because Major League Wrestling is headquartered in Las Vegas, we tour Utah frequently. So that is definitely a good idea for a future show.

Gotta say, you probably do a better job of building up your shows than anyone else here.
I'm pulling for Commisioner Bruno to destroy Koloff in their chain match.
One of my earliest wrestling memories is their April 10, 1976 Boston Garden Russian chain match. I didn't go but my dad came home and told me about it as if it were life and death for real. Awesome stuff to a six year old.
And 30 years later, they're at it again!

Major League Wrestling (MLW) Season Premiere on VEGAS TV Friday October 6, 2006 Las Vegas, NV (First Half of the show)
Just 2 days before Sin City Showdown here in Las Vegas, both the AWA and NWA brands of Major League Wrestling (MLW) present the 4 hour season premiere for Major League Wrestling on its new channel VEGAS TV!
note: Matches listed in red are presented by MLW's AWA brand.
note: Matches listed in blue are presented by MLW's NWA brand.
Match #1: Nikolai Volkoff, the Iron Sheik and their mystery tag team partner (Missing Link) defeated Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Antonino Rocca, and Red Bastien in a 6 man tag team match. The Missing Link turned out to be the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff's mystery tag team partner that they alluded to last week. This was a great and long opening match in which every participant except for Volkoff had to survive multiple pin and/or submission attempts. The end came when Rocca, after being worked over by the Missing Link, tapped out to the Iron Sheik's CAMEL CLUTCH.
Match #2: Don Leo Jonathan (managed by Bobby Heenan and accompanied by Heenan Family "problem solver" Ox Baker) defeated S.D.Jones. In his debut match since being introduced last week as the Heenan Family's newest member in response to the challenge posed to Heenan's men by the Crusher, DLJ started off on defense as Jones hit him with a series of jabs. But it quickly became clear why Heenan brought in Jonathan to deal with the threat posed by the Crusher as Jonathan looked impressive by using both power moves such as his giant swing and swinging full nelson along with crowd-dazzling agility moves such as his side kick to throat and his big dropkick. Jonathan finally disposed of Jones via his MORMON SWING finisher as Heenan laughed in delight and overconfidence by thinking he indeed found the answer to the problem posed to him by the Crusher.
Match #3: Splatter pinned Killer Kowalski. Splatter, MLW's spokesman and friend of the Road Warriors who are scheduled to wrestle Kowlaski's men Bruiser Brody and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams later tonight, won the match when he got away with MEET ARSENAL as Kowalski was climbing back into the ring after being thrown out by Splatter.
Backstage: MLW Chairman is talking to Bobby Heenan. -Heenan asks Sammartino to cancel his (Heenan's) match against the Crusher scheduled for later tonight -Sammartino refuses but tells Heenan that his (Heenan's) man Don Leo Jonathan looked great in his debut tonight for Major League Wrestling.
Match #4: Sherri Martel defeated Ida Mae Martinez in Match #5 of their best of seven series to determine Major League Wrestling's (MLW's) first-ever Ladies Champion. Martinez entered this match with a 3-1 series lead and would have won the Ladies Championship with a victory tonight. But Martel survived 2 DROPKICKS from Martinez and won a brawl outside of the ring after which she threw Martinez back into the ring and immediately hit her with a TOP ROPE SPLASH to narrow Martinez's series lead to 3-2.
Hot Seat: Rick Rude is the guest. -Rude brags about how he has won all of his matches the past few weeks on NWA:NITRO and that in his match against Diamond Dallas Page at Sin City Showdown this Sunday he will show Diamond Doll Maxine Babe what a real man is like- but that won't be too hard since she spends all her time with DDP. -Rude then stands up and begins to arrogantly pose and flex his muscles when suddenly DDP sneaks up behind him and nails him with a DIAMOND CUTTER.
Match #5: Wild Card Battle Royal The winner of this battle royal, in which some of the participants are usually at the lower tier of the AWA brand's roster, will receive a future title shot!
Participants: Killer Bees, Vachons, "Wild" Red Berry, Yukon Eric, Cousin Luke, Koko B. Ware, the MLW Tag Team Champions the Heart Thrashers (Brutus Beefcake and Buff Bagwell), the Double Axe Attack, Playboy Buddy Rose, Gorgeous George, Jim Londos, King Kong Bundy, and Ox Baker.
Order of elimination: 1. Koko B. Ware 2. Cousin Luke 3. Jim Brunzell 4. Larry Hennig 5. Buff Bagwell 6. Ox Baker 7. Butcher Vachon 8. Yukon Eric 9. Brutus Beefcake 10. "Wild" Red Berry 11. Playboy Buddy Rose 12. Curt Hennig 13. Mad Dog Vachon 14. King Kong Bundy 15. Jim Londos 16. Gorgeous George Winner: B. Brian Blair
note: Blair, Londos, and George were the last 3 men in the battle royal. Londos and George, feuding enemies, proceeded to battle each other with George eliminating Londos. Blair then came up from behind to attack and soon eliminated George to win the battle royal!
After getting his hand raised in victory, Blair announced that he will use the automatic title shot he just received to team up with his tag team partner Jim Brunzell to challenge the MLW tag Team Champions the Heart Thrashers on the next edition of AWA:RAW!
Larry Land: Intercontinental Champion Larry Zbyszko, accompanied by his bodyguard Cowboy Bob Orton Jr, is the host of Larry Land.
Zbyszko: "You just knew there would be an episode of Larry Land this week on Major League Wrestling's season premiere. I mean, without me, this season premiere would be like having a DVD of my former fed and not including any matches of myself- it just wouldn't make any sense at all."
Out comes MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino- this week's Larry Land guest.
Sammartino: "Larry, I am here tonight to announce that the next PPV for Major League Wrestling's AWA brand has been changed, It will no longer be called Taboo Tuesday or held on Tuesday October 31. Instead it will be called Cyber Sunday and held on Sunday November 5."
Zbyszko: "Who will I be wrestling, or should I say defeating, at Cyber Sunday?"
Sammartino: "That's just it-I don't know and it won't be me who decides because the fans of Major League Wrestling will be voting on both the opponents and/or the stipulations for the matches at Cyber Sunday. Now, if you will excuse me, I have to go kick Ivan Koloff's a*s."
Match #6: MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino vs Ivan Koloff in a lumberjack match ended in a no contest. The lumberjacks were the Terrible Turk, Boogie Woogie Man, Armstrongs, Johnny Valiant, Richard Hutton, Bob Orton Sr, Billy "Red" Lyons, "Precious" Paul Ellering, Virgil, Operation: Pimp (Hardcore Hodge and Steve Corino) and the Barroom Heroes (Sandman and Justin Credible). note: I am using the Sammartino card from LOW Bootlegs.
This match marked Ivan Koloff's return from the 30 day suspension imposed on him by Sammartino for attacking Sammartino with his steel chain and comes just 2 days before Sammartino and Koloff are scheduled to meet in a steel chain match at Sin City Showdown.
The match shifted back and forth without Sammartino or Koloff managing to put the other away. The end came when Koloff threw Sammartino out of the ring. The Barroom Heroes proceeded to double team Sammartino which upset Operation:Pimp who are scheduled to face Sandman and Credible in a tag team tables match in 2 days at Sin City Showdown. Operation:Pimp started brawling with the Barroom Heroes while two other enemy lumber jacks, Hutton and Orton Sr. also started brawling with each other. The result was complete chaos outside of the ring as all 14 lumberjacks became embroiled in the 2 brawls which forced the referee to call off the match. As the referee struggled to regain control over the situation, the Terrible Turk started choking Sammartino with Ivan Koloff's chain and pushed him back against a turnbuckle as Koloff proceeded to pummel Sammartino. What will happen in 2 days when Sammartino and Koloff are connected together by a steel chain in their match at Sin City Showdown?
End of First Half of the show. Second Half will be posted later and includes: Jimmy Snuka vs Don Muraco, the Crusher vs Bobby Heenan, Road Warriors vs Bruiser Brody and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams, Fabulous Kangaroos vs World Tag Team Champions the Midnight Express in a non-title match, the Brothers of Other Mothers (World Champion Bobo Brazil and Mil Mascaras) vs Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens, and MLW Champion Frank Gotch, Ted DiBiase, Dan Severn and Giant Baba vs the Four Horsemen: United States Champion Buddy Rogers, Harley Race, and the United State Tag Team Champions the Valentines in the first-ever match involving all 4 members of the Horsemen wrestling together!

Major League Wrestling (MLW) Season Premiere on VEGAS TV Friday October 6, 2006 Las Vegas, NV (Second Half of the show. First Half is posted above)
note: Matches listed in red are presented by MLW's AWA brand.
note: Matches listed in blue are presented by MLW's NWA brand
Match #7: Don Muraco defeated Jimmy Snuka by DQ. A highly competitive and fast-paced match that saw Snuka get DQd for smashing Muraco with a steel chair on the outside of the ring while jumping off the top turnbuckle. Afterward, Snuka told Muraco that at Cyber Sunday he would not get away with a cheap DQ victory because, based on fan voting, they would be competing in either a) a steel cage match, b) a coal miner's glove match, or c) a falls count anywhere match.
Match #8: Road Warriors defeated Bruiser Brody and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams (managed by Killer Kowalski) by DQ. The Road Warriors got the victory when Williams got DQd during a brawl outside of the ring with Hawk. Th announcers remark that in 2 days at Sin City Showdown there must be a winner between these two teams who will be competing inside a steel cage!
Match #9: Crusher pinned Bobby Heenan (accompanied by Heenan Family "problem solver" Ox Baker). To the surprise of everyone and thanks to interference by Baker, Heenan actually manged a pin attempt via PIN USING ROPES against the Crusher. But the Crusher kicked out and the referee ordered Baker to leave the ringside area. As Heenan protested vigorously to the referee about Baker's removal, the Crusher was able to block a chop to chest and gave Heenan a bodyslam followed by power forearms and then a Crusher Nelson and his CRUSHER BOLO. The Crusher seemed to have the match won, but decided to lift Heenan's head up at the 2 count. The Crusher then immediately hit Heenan with another CRUSHER BOLO and this time mercifully allowed the referee to complete the 3 count for the victory.
Match #10: World Tag Team Champions Midnight Express (managed by Jim Cornette) defeated the Fabulous Kangaroos (managed by Captain Kangaroo) in a non-title match. Cornette selected Dennis Condrey and Bobby Eaton to wrestle the Fabulous Kangaroos tonight but it is still unknown what two members of the Midnight Express Cornette will choose to defend the World Tag Team Championship against Roy Heffernan and Al Costello in their best 2 out of 3 falls match at Sin City Sundown this Sunday. This match ended when Eaton pinned Heffernan after he and Condrey performed their ROCKET LAUNCHER finisher. Will this be the same result at Sin City Sundown or will the Fabulous Kangaroos manage to win the World Tag Team Championship this Sunday?
Match #11: Brothers of Other Mothers (World Champion Bobo Brazil and Mil Mascaras) defeated Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens (managed by Bobby Heenan and accompanied by Heenan Family "problem solver" Ox Baker) in an elimination match.
The first elimination came when Mascaras pinned Bockwinkel via a FLYING BODYPRESS. Current World Champion Brazil has stated that he is going to make former champion Bockwinkel earn a rematch against him and Bockwinkel's performance tonight won't be a point in his favor.
The second elimination came when Stevens got DQd for assaulting Brazil outside of the ring before Mascaras could make the save for Brazil.
The Brothers of Other Mothers (Brazil and Mascaras) looked great and once again demonstrated why they were able to win the Sammartino Invitational together last May.
Add for Sin City Showdown: Sin City Showdown Sunday October 8 Las Vegas, NV 1. MLW Champion Frank Gotch vs United States Champion Buddy Rogers in an "I Quit" steel cage match 2. Road Warriors vs Bruiser Brody and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams in a steel cage match. 3. Fabulous Kangaroos vs World Tag Team Champions Midnight Express in a best 2 out of 3 falls match 4. MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino vs Ivan Koloff in a steel chain match 5. Dan Severn and Giant Baba vs United States Tag Team Champions the Valentines 6. Operation:Pimp (Hardcore Hodge and Steve Corino) vs Barroom Heroes (Sandman and Justin Credible) in a tag team tables match 7. Diamond Dallas Page (with Diamond Doll Maxine Babe) vs Rick Rude 8. Ted DiBiase (Legends Teams card) vs Harley Race
Match #12: MLW Champion Frank Gotch, Ted DiBiase, Giant Baba, and Dan Severn defeated the Four Horsemen: United States Champion Buddy Rogers, Harley Race, and United States Tag Team Champions the Valentines. In the main event, which pitted the Four Horsemen (teaming together in a single match for the first time) versus their various opponents at Sin City Showdown this Sunday, the action shifted back and forth until mayhem ensued when all 8 men entered the ring and started battering each other. As Gotch fought with Rogers, DiBiase exchanged blows with Race, and Severn wrestled with Greg Valentine, the referee focused on Baba and Johnny Valentine who were the two legal men in the ring at the time. During this melee, Baba gave Johnny Valentine a NECKBREAKER DROP for the victory.
End of show.
See you on Sunday when the NWA brand of Major League Wrestling (MLW) presents Sin City Showdown!

It is time for Major League Wrestling's (MLW's) PPV Sin City Showdown presented by the NWA brand of Major League Wrestling!
Sin City Showdown was preceded by a 30 minute segment of Major League Wrestling: Fight Night which recapped all of the story lines leading up to tonight's matches and included the following dark match:
Dark Match: Bob Orton Sr pinned Richard Hutton via a PILEDRIVER.
Major League Wrestling (MLW) Sin City Showdown Sunday October 8, 2006 Las Vegas, NV (First Half of the Show)
Match #1: Diamond Dallas Page (accompanied by Diamond Doll Maxine Babe) vs Rick Rude.
Before the match began, Rude got on the microphone and told the crowd: "I may be opening this PPV. But to all the ladies here, especially Maxine Babe, I am definitely the main event."
Rude controlled most of the match until DDP blocked a knee lift to midsection and responded by hitting Rude with a discus clothesline. DDP then threw Rude out of the ring where he faced and then tried to pose for Diamond Doll Maxine Babe. But Maxine Babe responded by vigorously slapping Rude across his face as the crowd cheered loudly. Holding his face in amazement and pain, Rude stumbled threw the ropes and back into the ring where a waiting DDP immediately hit him with a DIAMOND CUTTER for the win.
Winner: Diamond Dallas Page
Match #2 Operation: Pimp (Hardcore Hodge and Steve Corino) vs the Barroom Heroes (Sandman and Justin Credible managed by COTG's Phantasy) in a tag team tables match.
Before this match began, ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta reminded the fans that for this tag team tables match both members of either Operation:Pimp or the Barroom Heroes first had to be thrown through tables before their opponents could score either a pinfall or submission victory.
The Sin City crowd, as usual, greeted Phantasy with chants of "bar slut, bar slut, bar very *friendly* person."
Steve Corino was the first one to be thrown through a table as Justin Credible gave him THAT'S INCREDIBLE from the top turnbuckle and onto and through a table that he and the Sandman had set up in the ring. The Sin City crowd immediately started shouting "holy s**t, holy s**t, holy s**t. The Barroom Heroes now only need to throw Hardcore Hodge through a table in order to be eligible to then win the match by either pinfall or submission while Operation:Pimp still needs to throw both the Sandman and Justin Credible through tables to become eligible to then win the match by either pinfall or submission.
Justin Credible was next to go through a table which happened when he set up a table outside of the ring and draped Hodge across it. Credible then tried to dive off of the ring apron and onto Hodge but Hodge moved out of the way and Credible ended up crashing through the table instead. Things became even now as the Barroom Heroes still only need to throw Hardcore Hodge through a table in order to be eligible to then win the match by either pinfall or submission while Operation:Pimp just needs to throw the Sandman through a table to become eligible to then win the match by either pinfall or submission.
The Sandman was the next to go through a table which he was thrown through by both Corino and Hodge. Operation: Pimp is now eligible to win the match by either pinfall or submission while the Barroom Heroes still first need to throw Hardcore Hodge through a table.
The match ended a few moves later when Corino pinned Credible via OLD SCHOOL EXPULSION. Afterward, an enraged Phantasy tried to attack Hodge with a broken piece of table. But Corino took shard out of Phantasy's hands while Hodge turned around to see what Phantasy was trying to do. Hardcore Hodge then grabbed Phantasy and draped her over his knee before lifting up her skirt to spank her as the Sin City crowd roared in approval.
Winners: Operation: Pimp (Hardcore Hodge and Steve Corino).
Match #3: Ted DiBiase vs Harley Race
This match ended when Race threw DiBiase into the turnbuckle and charged after him with a double axe handle. But DiBiase moved out of the way and Race crashed into the empty turnbuckle and fell backward onto the mat where DiBiase went for an attempted pin. Race kicked out but DiBiase immediately applied his FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Race refused to submit. But while the referee was focusing on Race by asking him if he had enough, DiBiase used this opportunity to load his black glove and then immediately hit Race with his LOADED GLOVE for the victory.
Winner: Ted DiBiase.
Match #4: Giant Baba and Dan Severn vs United States Tag Team Champions the Valentines in a best 2 out of 3 falls match.
The first fall ended when Johnny Valentine got DQd for shoving the referee. Dan Severn and Giant Baba then had the lead at 1-0.
The second fall ended when Johnny Valentine made Seven submit to a backbreaker. Severn/Baba and the Valentines are now tied at 1-1.
The third fall ended when Greg Valentine, while getting away with Johnny Valentine holding his hands for extra leverage, forced Giant Baba to tap out to his FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK.
Winners: The Valentines 2-1. The Valentines retain the United States Tag Team Championship.
Match #5 (Bonus Match): Armstrongs vs Boogie Woogie Man and Johnny Valiant.
MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino came out to announce this previously unscheduled match for Sin City Showdown by saying he wanted to determine a new #1 contenders for the United States Tag Team Championship after seeing the manner in which the Valentines managed to defeat Severn and Baba.
The Armstrongs looked great in this match by controlling most of the action and won when Brad Armstrong pinned the Boogie Woogie Man via a RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP. The Armstrongs are now the new #1 contenders to the Valentines' United States Tag Team Championship and will wrestle the Valentines for their championship on the next edition of NWA:NITRO!
Winners: Armstrongs

Major League Wrestling (MLW) Sin City Showdown Sunday October 8, 2006 Las Vegas, NV (Second Half of the Show, First Half is posted above)
Match #6: Fabulous Kangaroos (managed by Captain Kangaroo- formerly Albano) vs the World Tag Team Champions Midnight Express in a best 2 out of 3 falls match.
Jim Cornette selected Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane as the two members of the Midnight Express to defend the World Tag Team Championship tonight with Dennis Condrey accompanying them to ringside.
Fall #1: In an incredible fast paced fall in which the action continuously shifted back and forth between the Kangaroos and the Midnight Express, the Kangaroos appeared to have the match won after Captain Kangaroo got away with tripping Lane who as as a result started to stumble and was immediately placed in a STEP OVER TOEHOLD by Roy Heffernan. Heffernan appeared on the verge of making Lane submit when Cornette got away with tossing his tennis racket into the ring as Condrey distracted the referee. Lane caught the racket and got away with smashing it against Heffernan's head. Lane then covered Heffernan for the pinfall.
The Midnight Express win Fall #1 and are up 1-0.
Fall #2: The Fabulous Kangaroos won this fall when Heffernann pinned Bobby Eaton after Captain Kangaroo got away with punching Eaton in the face through the ring ropes while standing outside of the ring.
The Fabulous Kangaroos win Fall #2 and are now tied with the Midnight Express 1-1.
Fall #3: In this deciding fall to determine which team would leave as the World Tag Team Champions, the Midnight Express emerged victorious when Eaton pinned Al Costello via a VEG-O-MATIC.
Midnight Express win Fall #3 and the match 2-1 to retain the World Tag Team Championship.
Match #7: MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino vs Ivan Koloff (accompanied by the Terrible Turk) in a steel chain match.
(note: I am using the Bruno Sammartino LOW Bootlegs card).
This turned to be an extremely violent match as both Sammartino and Koloff used the chain against each other in this heated grudge match. At one point, Koloff and the Terrible Turk used the chain to tie Sammartino to the turnbuckle post and Koloff then used a series of painful moves upon a trapped Sammartino. Koloff then gave Sammartino his RUSSIAN BEARHUG but Sammartino refused to give up. Later in the match, Sammartino seemed to go berserk as he choked Koloff with the chain and refused to relinquish the move for awhile. The match ended when Koloff tried to punch Sammartino with the steel chain. But Sammartino ducked and instead hit a surprised Koloff with the chain. Sammartino then placed Koloff in his BACKBREAKER finisher. As Sammartino had Koloff trapped in his finisher, he spotted the Terrible Turk jumping on the apron to come to Koloff's assistance. Sammartino then spun Koloff around to use Koloff's feet to knock the Terrible Turk off of the ring apron and down to the floor. Sammartino then carried Koloff to the center of the ring and vigorously applied his BACKBREAKER which forced Koloff to give up. Sammartino then dropped his historical enemy Koloff and collapsed in exhaustion to his knees with both of his hands raised in victory as the Sin City crowd rose to their feet to give him a standing ovation.
Winner: Bruno Sammartino
Splatter's Announcement: As the steel cage is being lowered from the rafters for the last two matches of Sin City Showdown, MLW Spokesman Splatter comes on over the intercom and announces that both the AWA and NWA brands of Major League Wrestling (MLW) will present a joint PPV called the Survivor Series over Thanksgiving weekend.
Match #8: Road Warriors vs Dungeon of Doom: Bruiser Brody and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams (managed by Killer Kowalski) in a steel cage match.
Despite some offense and a pin attempt by the team of Brody and Williams, the Road Warriors just looked awesome in this match tonight. Brody's head was gushing blood after being repeatedly slammed into the side of the steel cage by Animal. The end came when Hawk pinned Williams via a DOOMSDAY DEVICE.
Winners: Road Warriors
Match #9: MLW Champion Frank Gotch vs United States Champion Buddy Rogers in an "I Quit" steel cage match for the MLW Championship. (note: I am using the "I Quit" steel cage match rules and chart from the Legends Yahoo group).
In this main event match, both Gotch and Rogers face were covered in blood as both of them used the sides of the steel cage as a weapon trying to force the other to say the words "I Quit." Although the offense shifted back and forth between both men, Gotch had the advantage late in the match until he stood over a seemingly finished Rogers. Rogers apparently was just suckering Gotch into thinking he had the match won as he responded by surprisingly grabbing Gotch's tights and leveraging him into the steel cage. A few moves later, Rogers' fellow Horsemen Harley Race came down to ringside and through the cage handed Rogers a pouch which turned out to hold some sort of powder that Rogers opened into his hand and then threw into the face of Gotch. Rogers then hit a blinded Gotch with a piledriver and then proceeded to choke him with the ring ropes. As a blinded Gotch struggled to free himself, Rogers then hit him with his FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE. Now still unable to see and being choked by the ring ropes while being forced to endure Rogers' painful finisher, Gotch had no choice but to say "I Quit."
Winner: Buddy Rogers. Rogers is once more a double champion as he regains the MLW Championship and still retains the United States Championship.
As Rogers celebrates with both of his titles in the center of the steel cage along with his other Horsemen Race and the Valentines, Race garbs a microphone and tells Rogers "Congratulations Buddy, but don't forget your promise that you made to me earlier tonight." Rogers responds, "Don't worry Harley. It will happen on the next edition of NWA:NITRO."
The announcers ask just what is this promise that Race and Rogers are referring to as the Four Horsemen continue to celebrate Rogers' victory in the steel cage and as the show comes to an end.
Thank you for joining us at Major League Wrestling (MLW) tonight for Sin City Showdown!
Fade to black.
