Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA:RAW PREVIEW for 08/31/06
Following Summer Slam in which World Champion Nick Bockwinkel defeated Jim Londos in a steel cage to retain his title, Major League Wrestling (MLW) Chairman Bruno Sammartino has ordered a Gold Rush Tournament to begin this week on AWA:RAW to determine the new #1 contender to Bockwinkel's World Championship! The 8 participants in the tournament are Jim Londos, Antonino Rocca, Gorgeous George, the Crusher, Bobo Brazil, Mil Mascaras, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, and the Iron Sheik. But, as an added stipulation, Sammartino has declared that none of these 8 participants will know who their actual opponent is until they arrive in the ring. The winner of the Gold Rush Tournament will challenge Nick Bockwinkel for the World Championship at Unforgiven- a PPV coming in September presented exclusively by the AWA brand of Major League Wrestling (MLW)!
In addition, the Killer Bees will wrestle the Vachons in a #1 contender's match to determine which tag team will challenge the MLW Tag Team Champions the Heart Thrashers (Brutus Beefcake and Buff Bagwell) at Unforgiven!
Finally, both Sherri Martel and Ida Mae Martinez will be the guests on this week's edition of Larry Land. All this and more this week on AWA:RAW!
Now it is time for this week's preview for Major League Wrestling's (MLW's) other brand- the NWA!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) NWA:NITRO PREVIEW for 09/01/06
Following his impressive triple threat two falls defense of both his MLW Championship and his United States Championship at Summer Slam, Buddy Rogers this week will have to defend his MLW Championship against Frank Gotch- the one man he did not pin or make submit in either of the two falls last Sunday at Summer Slam- in a steel cage match in the main event on this week's edition of NWA:NITRO!
In addition, at the request of Hawk and Animal, Sammartino has ordered a rematch from Summer Slam of the Road Warriors vs Bruiser Brody and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams! Although they were victorious at Summer Slam, Hawk and Animal were left bleeding in the ring after being ambushed after the match by Brody and Williams at the direction of Killer Kowalski. Can the Road Warriors make it 2 victories in 2 weeks vs Kowalski's Dungeon of Doom?
Also, Hardcore Hodge and Steve Corino will compete in match #4 (a Singapore cane match) of their best of 7 series to determine who is the better hardcore/old school wrestler. With Corino leading the series 3-0, can Hodge finally win to keep the series alive? And will Sammartino have anything to say about his controversial loss at Summer Slam to his old enemy Ivan Koloff who used his steel chain to defeat the MLW Chairman? Finally, coming off the defense of their World Tag Team Championship against the Fabulous Kangaroos at Summer Slam, the Midnight Express will be this week's guests on the Hot Seat. All this and more this week on NWA:NITRO!
Splatter, the spokesman of Major League Wrestling (MLW) says: "Major League Wrestling (MLW). Don't you DARE miss it!"

Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA:RAW 08/31/06 Pepsi Center in Denver, CO (First Half of the show)
Tonight on AWA:RAW, Major League Wrestling (MLW) Chairman Bruno Sammartino has ordered a Gold Rush Tournament to begin. The 8 wrestlers in the Gold Rush Tournament are Jim Londos, Antonino Rocca, Bobo Brazil, Mil Mascaras, Gorgeous George, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, the Crusher, and the Iron Sheik. None of these 8 wrestlers will know the identity of their opponent tonight until they arrive in the ring. The winner of the Gold Rush Tournament will challenge World Champion Nick Bockwinkel at Unforgiven- a PPV in September presented exclusively by the AWA brand of Major League Wrestling (MLW)!
Match #1: Jimmy Snuka vs Don Muraco
Unlike their match at Summer Slam in which Snuka stunned Muraco by easily pinning him in less than 10 moves, this encounter proved much more competitive as the offensive rapidly and repeatedly shifted back and forth early in the match. But the end came when Muraco gave Snuka 2 consecutive over the shoulder backbreakers followed by his HAWAIIAN HAMMER for the victory to avenge his loss at Summer Slam.
Winner: Don Muraco
Match #2: Killer Bees vs the Vachons (managed by "Wild" Red Berry) in a #1 contender's match.
MLW Tag Team Champions the Heart Thrashers (Brutus Beefcake and Buff Bagwell) and their manager Cassandra (from COTG) provided guest commentary for this match to determine their opponents at Unforgiven. Both Bagwell and Beefcake expressed hope that the Killer Bees win this match because they see them as less of a legitimate threat to their tag team title than the Vachons. But, despite the comments of the Heart Thrashers, the Killer Bees looked great and controlled almost the entire match which they won when B Brian Blair defeated Mad Dog Vachon after a BEE STING.
Winners: Killer Bees. The Killer Bees win the right to challenge MLW Tag Team Champions the Heart Thrashers at Unforgiven!
Larry Land: Sherri Martel and Ida Mae Martinez are this week's guests.
Larry Zbyszko: "It is time for Larry Land hosted by me, the living legend, Larry Z."
Zbyszko: "I thought we were done interviewing feminine guests after we had Antonino Rocca on last week. But after winning the Intercontinental Championship by defeating Rocca last weekend at Summer Slam, it just goes to show that if you win the gold you get the chickie pies. My two guests this week are Sherri Martel and Ida Mae Martinez."
Zbyszko (whispering to his body guard Cowboy Bob Orton Jr.): "Check out the *** on Sherri."
Zbyszko ( to Martel and Martinez): "I guess you two are both here today because you want me to be your manager. Forget it, I have trouble even communicating with broads like you let alone trying to manage them."
Martel: "Actually Larry we are here to announce that Major League Wrestling is about to introduce a Ladies Championship which will be awarded to the winner of a best of 7 series starting next week between Ida Mae and me."
Zbyszko: "You two hotties should be vacuuming the floors and washing the dishes. Leave wrestling in the ring to men like myself. I have said it before and I will say it again, just like the WNBA is not as good a game as the NBA, women's wrestling is not as good as men's wrestling."
Martinez: "Actually, I think Sherri and me will put on some exciting matches in our best of 7 series that the fans will enjoy."
Zbyszko: "Whatever, I think your match next week is the time I am going to go take a leak. Adios toots."
Backstage: World Champion Nick Bockwinkel is telling his manager Bobby Heenan that he is worried about the possible outcome of the Gold Rush Tournament that starts later tonight. Bockwinkel says he is not worried about having to defeat Rocca or Londos once again, but he is concerned that the Crusher might win the Gold Rush Tournament and that he does not want to have to defend his title against the Crusher at Unforgiven. Heenan, gesturing toward the Heenan Family problem solver Ox Baker, tells Bockwinkel not to worry about the Crusher. But for now, he (Heenan) is more concerned with the next match which pits Heenan Family members Ray Stevens and King Kong Bundy against the Double Axe Attack.
Match #3: Double Axe Attack (the Hennigs) vs King Kong Bundy and Ray Stevens (managed by Heenan and accompanied by Ox Baker).
This match was scheduled as a result of the brawl that occurred at Summer Slam when the Crusher and the Hennigs were escorting Jim Londos to the ring to wrestle Heenan Family member Bockwinkel in a steel cage and got attacked by Heenan Family members Bundy, Stevens, and Baker that ignited a major out of the ring brawl that spilled out of control and to the backstage area. At first, Bundy and Stevens dominated the match and almost pinned Larry Hennig. But "the Axe" battled back and tagged in his son Curt who looked great in the ring against both Stevens and Bundy. The Double Axe Attack picked up the victory when Curt Hennig made Bundy submit to a sleeper. Stevens and Baker were about to interfere to save Bundy but the Crusher arrived at ring side and, along with Larry Hennig, managed to keep Stevens and Bundy at bay while Curt Hennig finished off Bundy.
Winners: Double Axe Attack
End of the First Half of AWA:RAW. The Second Half will be posted next and will include all four of the First Round matches of the Gold Rush Tournament!

I love Larry Land since I was a huge fan of him from the 80s, (but thought he was bad into the 90s and today). Fun segment! I think SV is a mark for "toots!". Good stuff
Bundy & Stevens is definitely an interesting team. I've got a hankering to see a Hennigs vs Bockwinkel & Stevens match though. I think it'd be interesting.

Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA:RAW 08/31/06 Pepsi Center in Denver, CO (Second Half of the show, First Half is posted above)
Backstage: Brothers of Other Mothers (Mil Mascaras and Bobo Brazil)
Brazil and Mascaras are asked by a reporter for Major League Westling if they are prepared for the possibility that they may have to wrestle each other in tonight's First Round matches of the Gold Rush Tournament as none of the competitors know who their opponent is tonight. Brazil and Mascaras respond they will compete hard against whoever their opponents tonight turn out to be and they are confident that their friendship will survive even if they have to wrestle each other as they are still friends and occasional tag team partners following their match against each other last weekend at Summer Slam.
Gold Rush Tournament (First Round) The rest of tonight's matches will be the four First Round matches of the Gold Rush Tournament to determine World Champion Nick Bockwinkel's challenger at Unforgiven.
Crusher vs Iron Sheik[ (managed by Nikita Breznikov and accompanied by Nikolai Volkoff) /b] The first match turns out to be the Crusher (who Bockwinkel said he is wary of wrestling) vs the Iron Sheik. The Crusher looked great and completely dominated the match to the extent that the Iron Sheik could not even get a single move of offense in. After pummeling the Iron Sheik for the first 6-7 minutes of the match, the Crusher threw the Iron Sheik out of the ring and went after him. While outside of the ring, the Crusher knocked down Volkoff with his power forearms before throwing the Iron Sheik back into the ring where he gave him a CRUSHING BOLO. The Crusher seemed to have the win at this point as he demonstrated by slapping his hand down on the mat 3 times while covering the Iron Sheik. But the referee was distracted by Breznikov who jumped on the apron. Suddenly, Ox Baker of the Heenan Family took advantage of this distraction to run down to the ring where he picked up the Soviet flag lying on the ground next to Volkoff and savagely smashed it against the Crusher's head. The Iron Sheik took advantage of this interference to recover and gain the offensive for the first time of the match. The Iron Sheik proceeded to pound away at the Crusher by kicking him with his loaded boot and then delivering a power slam and a couple of suplexes (both sidewinder and vertical). The Iron Sheik then placed the Crusher int he CAMEL CLUTCH. At first, the Crusher refused to submit, but the Iron Sheik kept applying his finishing hold until the Crusher eventually tapped out. The Iron Sheik advances to the next round of the Gold Rush Tournament next week but it is evident that this is only due to the interference of the Heenan Family's Ox Baker.
Winner: Iron Sheik
Bobo Brazil vs Gorgeous George
Brazil manged to control the offensive for most of this match and put George away after 3 COCO BUTTS to advance to the next round of the Gold Rush Tournament next week.
Winner: Bobo Brazil
Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs Jim Londos
Despite his convincing defeat at the hands of Bockwinkel in a steel cage match 5 days ago at Summer Slam, Londos looked great in this match and picked up the easy victory via his AIRPLANE SPIN to advance to the next round of the Gold Rush Tournament.
Winner: Jim Londos
Mil Mascaras vs Antonino Rocca
After these two fan favorites shook hands to start this match, Mascaras started off firmly in control and almost pinned Rocca 3 different times via his FLYING BODY PRESS early in the match. But the tide turned when Rocca rolled out of the way of a deathjump by Mascaras who crashed hard to the mat as a result. Rocca quickly went for the pin but Mascaras kicked out. Rocca then hit Mascaras with a flying head scissors and then his ARGENTINIAN BACKBREAKER for the victory to advance in the Gold Rush Tournament.
Winner: Antonino Rocca
End of show. Be sure to tune back in next week on AWA:RAW when the Gold Rush Tournament to determine World Champion Nick Bockwinkel's opponent at Unforgiven will continue and conclude! Also, be sure to check out tomorrow's show, NWA:NITRO, for Major League Wrestling's (MLW's) other brand- the NWA- when MLW Champion Buddy Rogers defends his title against Frank Gotch in a steel cage match and the Road Warriors will take on Bruiser Brody and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams in a rematch from last week's Summer Slam!
Fade to black.

Great first half! And I too find the Stevens and Bundy pairing very interesting and cool! I would love to oblige ya Trav with a Bockwinkel/Stevens vs. The Hennigs but lately the Hennigs are just not pulling off wins like they first came into the fed. I am thinking I may give them a match on my Saturday show and see how they do. Bockwinkel and Stevens are my International Champions and I think they need to put their titles on the line that same night against the top contenders, which look to be The Midnight's. The Larry Land segment was awesome. Stephen, needs to do more of these segments when needed.

Major League Wrestling (MLW) NWA:NITRO Friday September 1 Moby Arena in Fort Collins, CO (First Half of the show)
One week after Summer Slam, Major League Wrestling's NWA:NITRO takes place from Moby Arena (whale shaped) on the campus of Colorado State University!
Match #1: Fabulous Kangaroos (managed by Captain Kangaroo) vs Barroom Heroes (Sandman and Justin Credible, managed by Phantasy)
Before the match started, Phantasy told the crowd that, after she and the Barroom Heroes defeated MLW Tag Team Champions the Heart Thrashers and Cassandra from MLW's AWA brand in a mixed tag non-title match at Summer Slam last week, MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino has promised her Barroom Heroes a title shot if they can defeat the #1 contenders the Fabulous Kangaroos tonight. The crowd instantly responded by shouting chants of "bar slut, bar slut, bar slut" toward Phantasy.
The Barroom Heroes started off this match looking impressively strong against the Kangaroos as the Sandman and Credible together forced Roy Heffernan to survive 3 pin attempts to preserve the match. Credible then seemed to have the match won when he got away with hitting Heffernan with a SINGAPORE CANE thrown to him by Phantasy- but Al Costello made the pin save. Heffernan was finally able to rally by blocking a hammerlock attempt from Credible who he then threw into the ropes. Heffernan attempted to punch Credible who managed to duck and went back into the ropes on the other side of the ring. But as Credible rebounded off the ropes this time, Heffernan timed things perfectly and hit him with a Tiger Suplex before tagging in Costello. Costello hit Credible with an Aussie Suplex and then, working with Heffernan, gave Credible a BOOMERANG- but the Sandman made the pinsave. But Sandman only prolonged what turned out to be a defeat as Costello a few moves later applied his MARBLE BOR LEGLOCK on Credible. Credible at first refused to submit but Costello kept applying his finisher until Credible finally tapped out. The Fabulous Kangaroos remain the #1 contenders in the tag team division.
Winners: Fabulous Kangaroos
Match #2: Dan Severn vs Rick Rude
This match was a rematch from the dark match at Summer Slam (highlights of the dark match are shown to the crowd) between Severn and Rude that ended in a double DQ. Rude started off in control and almost pinned Severn with a clothesline. Rude then threw Severn out of the ring and waited as Severn crawled back into he ring to hit him with a perfectly-timed RUDE AWAKENING- but Severn broke up the count by placing his foot on the ropes. Rude appeared to think about a top rope kneedrop but decided to climb to the top turnbuckle instead where he attempted a falling leg drop off the top turnbuckle (Choice H). Severn, however, rolled out of the way and Rude crashed painfully to the empty mat. Severn then tried to win them match via a German suplex- but Rude kicked out. Severn then tried to make Rude submit to a bow and arrow before giving him a heel hook and then his WAKIGATAME finisher which caused Rude to submit.
Winner: Dan Severn
Match #3: Diamond Dallas Page (accompanied by Diamond Doll Maxine Babe) vs Ivan Koloff (accompanied by the Terrible Turk).
Fresh off his victory over his historical enemy MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino at Summer Slam, Koloff started off this match in control and quickly tried to make DDP submit to a backbreaker- but DDP survived by grabbing the ropes with both hands while in Koloff's backbreaker. Koloff then got away with hitting DDP with his steel chain and then threw him out of the ring. Koloff went after him, but DDP retaliated and got DQd for smashing Koloff into the ring post. DDP then gave the Terrible Turk a DIAMOND CUTTER before returning to the locker room with Diamond Doll Maxine Babe and leaving Koloff and the Terrible Turk recovering in the ring.
Winner: Ivan Koloff by DQ.
After the match, MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino arrived in the ring and told Koloff that, despite luring him out of retirement for one match at Summer Slam by bragging about his previous historical defeat over Sammartino with a clean pinfall at Madison Square Garden, Koloff had to resort to cheating with his steel chain to defeat him at Summer Slam. Sammartino started to continue speaking when suddenly the Terrible Turk grabbed him from behind and Koloff started smashing Sammartino repeatedly with his steel chain causing the MLW chairman's head to bleed profusely and stain the mat red before Koloff and the Terrible Turk departed to the back.
Match #4: Hardcore Hodge vs Steve Corino (Singapore cane match).
This is match #4 in the best of 7 series between Hodge and Corino to determine who is the the better combination hardcore and old school wrestler. Corino is currently leading the series 3-0 and will win the series with a victory tonight.
After exchanging offense early with Corino early in the match, Hodge became the first to pick up a Singapore cane which he hit Corino with in the chest after throwing him into the ropes. Hodge also used the Singapore cane to nail Corino in the face while performing a deathjump from the top turnbuckle. Hodge then tried to win the match with 2 straight OKLAHOMA SIDE ROLLS but Corino kicked out both times. Corino was able to battle back and managed to pick up a Singapore cane which he used to hit Hodge in the back and then stabbed him in the mouth! Corino then gave Hodge an OLD SCHOOL EXPULSION- but Hodge broke up the 3 count by placing his foot on the ropes. Corino then gave Hodge another OLD SCHOOL EXPULSION. Hodge managed to put his foot on the ropes once again but the referee did not notice this time and made the 3 count giving the victory and the series to Corino who quickly placed Hodge's foot off of the ropes before the referee could see it and order the match to continue.
Winner: Steve Corino
After Corino received the victory, Phantasy (to more chants of "bar slut" by the crowd) came out to the ring and told an exhausted Hodge and Corino that neither one of them were real hardcore wrestlers and the real Singapore cane experts were her Barroom Heroes and she will demonstrate this now. Suddenly, Sandman and Credible, who snuck up from behind while Phantasy was talking, attacked an already down Hodge with their Singapore canes and then proceeded to attack Corino who was also already weakened from his Singapore cane match with Hodge. Hodge and Corino were left heavily bleeding in the ring together to the extent that their faces were covered in blood by the Barroom Heroes and Phantasy.
End of First Half. Second half will be posted next and will include a rematch from Summer Slam between the Road Warriors vs Bruiser Brody and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams and Frank Gotch vs MLW Champion and United States Champion Buddy Rogers in a steel cage match for Rogers' MLW Championship!

Major League Wrestling (MLW) NWA:NITRO Friday September 1 Moby Arena in Fort Collins, CO (Second Half of the show, First Half is posted above)
Match #5: Giant Baba vs Greg Valentine (accompanied by Johnny Valentine and Harley Race)
Baba requested this match after defeating Race at Summer Slam by DQ last weekend when Greg Valentine interfered and attacked him inside the ring.
After the match started off with Baba and Greg Valentine exchanging several offensive series against each other, Baba almost pinned Greg Valentine via a boot to face. Greg Valentine managed to regain control of the match and threw Baba outside of the ring where Valentine's fellow Horsemen Johnny Valentine and Race proceeded to pummel Baba before throwing him back into the ring to Greg Valentine who instantly hit Baba with a piledriver followed by a falling elbow hammer for the upset victory thanks to the interference of Johnny Valentine and Race.
Winner: Greg Valentine
After the match, Race and the Valentines proceeded continuing to attack Baba until Baba's former World Tag Team Championship partner Dan Severn suddenly came out to the ring to make the save.
Hot Seat: World Tag Team Champions the Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton, Stan Lane, and Dennis Condrey) and their manager Jim Cornette are the guests.
- Bill Apter informs Cornette and the Midnight Express that MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino has decided that they will no longer be able to defend their World Tag Team Championship in a 3 on 2 handicap format like they did against the Fabulous Kangaroos at Summer Slam last weekend. Instead only 2 Midnight Express members will be able to defend the World Tag Team Championship at one time.
-Cornette responds that's fine because it still gives the Midnight Express an edge as their opponents will not be able to know which of the 3 members of Eaton, Lane, and Condrey they will have to compete against.
-Apter upsets Cornette and the Midnight Express by telling them they have 1 week to decide which 2 members will represent them in their next title defense which will be next week on NWA:NITRO against the Fabulous Kangaroos who retained their #1 contenders status with their victory over the Barroom Heroes earlier tonight.
Match #6: Road Warriors vs Dungeon of Doom: Bruiser Brody and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams (managed by Killer Kowalski)
This turned out to be a violent match that the Road Warriors dominated in the early stages and Animal, after giving Brody a spike piledriver, almost pinned Brody by impressively giving the 6'7" 284 lb man an overhead bodyslam but Dr. Death made the pinsave. The action spilled outside of the ring several times as the referee had an extremely difficult time trying to control this match. The end came when Williams pinned Animal via a one handed body slam. Immediately after the match ended, Hawk got on the microphone and challenged Brody and Williams to another rematch next week. Hawk added that this time however he and Animal also wanted to get their hands on their former manger Kowalski so he said he wants next week's match to be a six man tag team match pitting the Road Warriors and their friend MLW spokesman Splatter vs Brody, Williams, and Kowalski! Kowalski and his Dungeon of Doom accepted this challenge for next week.
Winners: Bruiser Brody and Steve Williams
Backstage: His head heavily bandaged from the attack upon him with a steel chain by Ivan Koloff earlier tonight, MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino has the following 2 announcements.
- Ivan Koloff is suspended for 30 days from Major League Wrestling.
- The NWA brand of Major League Wrestling will have a PPV called "Sin City Showdown" that will take place Sunday October 8 from MLW's headquarters in Las Vegas. At Sin City Showdown, Sammartino says he will come out of retirement (using his LOW Bootlegs card) one more time to wrestle Ivan Koloff in a steel chain match!
Match #7, the main event: Frank Gotch vs MLW Champions and United States Champion Buddy Rogers in a steel cage match for Rogers' MLW Championship.[/b
The action shifted back and forth between Gotch and Rogers before Rogers almost picked up the victory by giving Gotch dropkicks followed by a piledriver- but Gotch kicked out. Rogers then tried to pin Gotch via an atomic drop- but again Gotch kicked out. Gotch battled back to regain the offensive and hit Rogers with a forearm uppercut. Rogers appeared like he wanted to leave the ring to regroup but was prevented from doing so by the steel cage. Gotch then grabbed Rogers and slammed him into the side of the steel cage and, as Rogers fell back, Gotch immediately applied his GOTCH TOEHOLD. But Rogers, determined to keep his MLW Championship, refused to submit. Gotch then went on an impressive offensive series against Rogers that included 2 more GOTCH TOEHOLDS- but Rogers still refused to submit and grabbed the ropes. Gotch then immediately gave Rogers a rolling kneebar and then pulled him to the center of the ring away from the ropes where he gave him yet another GOTCH TOEHOLD- this was the fourth time of the match that Gotch applied his powerful and painful finisher and it finally caused Rogers to tap out. Although Rogers retains his United States Championship, he is no longer a diuble champion as Gotch wins the match and is the new MLW Champion!
Winner: Frank Gotch
Gotch holds his newly-won MLW Championship above his head in victory inside the steel cage as the show ends and the screen fades to black.

The footage first shows Bockwinkel expressing concern to his manager Bobby Heenan about the posiibility of the Crusher winning the Gold Rush Tournament because he does not want to defend his title against him at Unforgiven. Heenan gestures toward Ox Baker, the Heenan Family's "problem solver," and tells Bockwinkel not to worry about it.
The footage then shows the Crusher competing against the Iron Sheik in their first round matchup of the Gold Rush Tournament. The Crusher seemed to have the match won via a BOLO PUNCH but Baker ran down to the ring and got away with smashing the Soviet flag carried by Breznikov against the Crusher's head. Thanks to Baker's interference, the Iron Sheik regained control of the match and soon eliminated the Crusher from the Gold Rush Tournament with his CAMEL CLUTCH.
Match #4, the main event: Playboy Buddy Rose defeated the Missing Link by DQ

Gotch is then shown celebrating as he is the new MLW Championship!

Stephen, I've been catching up with your results. Capatain Kangaroo?! Too Funny. I gotta go back and find out the backstory for that one. Keep up the good work, you've definitely got one of the best feds out there. Godzillajoe2k4, Thank you for the compliments about my Major League Wrestling fed! Yeah, I turned Captain Lou Albano into Captain Kangaroo. Because I decided to start using the Fabulous Kangaroos as faces and I wanted Red Berry to manage the Vachons for now, I made Albano (who I was already using as a face manager) the manager of the Kangaroos and then had his name altered. I am looking forward to finding out if Captain "Kangaroo" can guide the Fabulous Kangaroos to victory over the World Tag Team Champions the Midnight Express this week. Unlike at my Summer Slam PPV, the Kangaroos this time won't have to compete in a 2 on 3 handicap match vs Eaton, Lane, and Condrey. Instead just 2 members of the Midnight Express this week will defend their World Tag Team Championship against Heffernan and Costello.

Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA:RAW PREVIEW for Thursday 09/07/06
This week on the AWA brand of Major League Wrestling (MLW), the Gold Rush Tournament concludes. AWA:RAW will begin with the four remaining wrestlers-Bobo Brazil, Jim Londos, Antonino Rocca, and the Iron Sheik- competing in the Semi Final Round matches and end with the last two wrestlers competing for the right to challenge World Champion Nick Bockwinkel in the main event at Unforgiven!
In addition, after defeating Ray Stevens and King Kong Bundy of the Heenan Family last week, the Double Axe Attack will wrestle Stevens and Bockwinkel this week as Heenan seeks to avenge last week's loss to the Hennigs while keeping Bockwinkel fresh for his next title defense at Unforgiven! Also, the Crusher will get his chance at revenge against Ox Baker. Baker's interference last week in the First Round of the Gold Rush Tournament allowed the Iron Sheik to score an upset victory over the Crusher who now gets to go one on one against Baker this week!
Furthermore, one half of the Killer Bees will wrestle one half of the Heart Thrashers as B. Brian Blair and Jim Brunzell prepare to challenge the MLW Tag Team Champions at Unforgiven. Finally, Jimmy Snuka will once again wrestle his enemy Don Muraco and Ida Mae Martinez will face Sherri Martel in Match #1 of their best of 7 series to determine the Lady Champion!
Now it is time for the preview for NWA:NITRO- the main show of Major League Wrestling's (MLW's) NWA brand!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) NWA:NITRO PREVIEW for Friday 09/08/06
After losing the MLW Championship to Frank Gotch in a steel cage match last week on NWA:NITRO, Buddy Rogers (who is still the United States Champion) has demanded through the press that MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino grant him a rematch against Gotch. Will Sammartino agree to Rogers' demand?
One title that will be on the line this Friday will be the World Tag Team Championship as current champions the Midnight Express will defend their title against the Fabulous Kangaroos. Unlike the 3 on 2 handicap match at Summer Slam, it was announced on the Hot Seat last week that the Midnight Express will now only be able to have two of their members defend their title against the Kangaroos. Which two Midnight Express members of Bobby Eaton, Stan Lane, and Dennis Condrey will Cornette assign to wrestle Roy Heffernan and Al Costello?
Also, after avenging their loss at Summer Slam by defeating the Road Warriors last week, Bruiser Brody, Steve Dr. Death" Williams, and their manager Killer Kowalski will wrestle the Road Warriors and their friend MLW spokesman Splatter in a six man tag team match, Giant Baba will wrestle Harley Race in a rematch from Summer Slam, and Hardcore Hodge and Steve Corino will be the guests on the Hot Seat to address the ambush that the Barroom Heroes inflicted upon them last week.
MLW spokesman Splatter says: "Major League Wrestling (MLW). Don't you DARE miss it!"

Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA:RAW Thursday September 7, 2006 Arena-Auditorium (the "Dome of Doom") Laramie, Wyoming (First Half of the show)
With only 10 days to go until Unforgiven, the Gold Rush Tournament to determine World Champion Nick Bockwinkell's #1 contender will conclude tonight!
Match #1, Gold Rush Tournament Semi Finals : Bobo Brazil (accompanied by Mil Mascaras) vs Iron Sheik (managed by Nikita Breznikov and accompanied by Nikolai Volkoff)
Brazil controlled most of the offense in this match until the action spilled outside of the ring where both Volkoff and Breznikov joined the Iron Sheik in brawling with Brazil until being chased off by Mascaras which caused the referee to award the match by DQ to Brazil.
Winner: Bobo Brazil by DQ.
Match #2, Gold Rush Tournament Semi Finals: Jim Londos vs Antonino Rocca.
These two fan favorites shook hands before the bell rang. Rocca dominated in this match and, although Londos valiantly resisted a combined total of 6 pin and submission attempts, picked up the victory via his ARGENTINIAN BACKBREAKER. Rocca will wrestle Brazil in tonight's main event, the Gold Rush Tournament Finals, for the right to challenge World Champion Nick Bockwinkel at Unforgiven!
Winner: Antonino Rocca
Match #3: Ida Mae Martinez vs Sherri Martel. Match #1 of their best of 7 series to determine the Ladies Champion.
Martel controlled most of this match until she threw Martinez into the ropes from which Martinez rebounded with an incredible flying crossbody press and cover for a pin attempt. Martel kicked out but was immediately hit with 2 straight DROPKICKS and pin attempts by Martinez. Martel kicked out both times. But Martinez then nailed Martel with a deathjump followed by yet another DROPKICK for the victory.
Winner: Ida Mae Martinez. Martinez leads the series 1-0.
Match #4: B. Brian Blair (accompanied by Jim Brunzell) vs Buff Bagwell (accompanied by Brutus Beefcake and managed by Cassandra).
A week and a half before the Killer Bees challenge the MLW Tag Team Champions the Heart Thrashers at Unforgiven in a best 2 out of 3 falls title match, the two tag teams each sent one member into the ring tonight to compete against each other in this singles match. The action in the ring shifted back and forth until Blair managed to put Bagwell away via a SLEEPER.
Winner: B. Brian Blair
As the Killer Bees celebrate Blair's victory, Beefcake and Cassandra reacted angrily and Beefcake got on the microphone to challenge Brunzell to a match right than and now. Brunzell accepted.
Match #5: Jim Brunzell (accompanied by B. Brian Blair) vs Brutus Beefcake (managed by Cassandra and accompanied by Buff Bagwell).
Despite early offense by Brunzell, Beefcake managed to even things up as he hit Brunzell with a studded armband smash followed by a FLYING KNEE SMASH for the victory.
Winner: Brutus Beefcake.
After wrestling to a split in singles action tonight, the Killer Bees then challenge the Heart Thrashers to a non-title match next week on AWA:RAW which will be just 3 days before they compete again against Beefcake and Bagwell for the MLW Tag Team Championship at Unforgiven.
Backstage: Jim Londos is walking down the hallway when he bumps into Gorgeous George. Before continuing down the hallway, Londos exchanges some heated words with George.
Match #6: Jimmy Snuka vs Don Muraco A highly competitive match between these two enemies eager to defeat the other as the action continuously shifted back and forth between them. Toward the end, Muraco was in control and he hit Snuka with an Asiatic Spike. But Snuka managed to get out of the way of a slingshot choke on the bottom rope and then hit Muraco with a piledriver followed by an impressive SUPERFLY LEAP (+4) for the victory.
Winner: Jimmy Snuka
After the match, Snuka got on he microphone and said he had not forgotten how Muraco had injured him at the Great American Bash after attacking Snuka from behind while Snuka was still wearing the dog collar around his neck after defeating Gorgeous George in a dog collar match. Snuka says he remembers how it felt to be draped over the top rope while being choked by the dog collar and, because he wants Muraco to experience this pain for himself, he challenges Muraco to a dog collar match at Unforgiven!
End of First Half. Second Half will be posted next and will include an edition of Larry Land, Crusher vs Ox Baker, the Double Axe Attack vs World Champion Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens, and the Gold Rush Tournament Finals match of Bobo Brazil vs Antonino Rocca for the right to challenge Bockwinkel in a title match at Unforgiven!

Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA:RAW Thursday September 7, 2006 Arena-Auditorium (the "Dome of Doom") Laramie, Wyoming (Second Half of the show, First Half is posted above)
Larry Land: This week's guest is Gorgeous George
Larry Zbyszko (accompanied by his bodyguard Cowboy Bob Orton Jr and addressing the crowd): "It's time for another episode of Larry Land, hosted by me the Living Legend and Intercontinental Champion, Larry Z."
Zbyszko (to the crowd): "So Larry Land is live from Laramie this week. What the h**l do you people do here for fun? I've spent hours in this town today and not found one single thing to do."
Crowd starts chanting" "Larry sucks, Larry sucks, Larry sucks."
Zbyszko (to the crowd): "Yeah, welcome to Wyoming where the men are men and the livestock are scared."
The music to "Pomp and Circumstance" starts playing as Zbyszko's guest Gorgeous George arrives on Larry Land.
George: "Oh, it is so sad that Jim Londos lost his match against Antonino Rocca tonight."
Zbyszko: "Yeah, tonight the Golden Geek was weak. Anyone who can't defeat Antonino Rocca is pathetic."
The crowd suddenly erupts as Jim Londos arrives on Larry Land.
George: "Here comes one of tonight's losers."
Londos: "Well at least I made it to the Semi Finals of the Gold Rush Tournament."
George: "That's because you did not wrestle me."
Londos: "Well then why don't you, Gorgeous George, and me have a match at Unforgiven?"
Instead of accepting the challenge, George watches as Zbyszko and Orton Jr suddenly grab and pummel Londos from behind. As Zbyszko and Orton Jr proceed to hold down Londos, George takes out a Georgie pin and and repeatedly rakes the face of Londos causing blood to spill everywhere as George, Zbyszko and Orton Jr laugh in amusement.
MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino then arrives and tells George that he will indeed be wrestling Londos in a match at Unforgiven. Sammartino also tells Zbyszko that he will have to defend his Intercontinental Championship at Unforgiven. Sammartino explains that while the winner of tonight's main event Gold Rush Tournament Finals between Bobo Brazil and Antonino Rocca will get the right to challenge World Champion Nick Bockwinkel at Unforgiven, the loser of tonight's main event will still earn a title shot against Intercontinental Champion Larry Zbyszko. Zbyszko says he hopes Brazil defeats Rocca because he (Zbyszko) will have no problem defeating a loser like Rocca as he already did once before two weeks ago at Summer Slam.
Match #7: Crusher vs Ox Baker (managed by Bobby Heenan)
The Crusher sought revenge in this match from last week when Baker's interference caused the Crusher to be eliminated in the First Round of the Gold Rush Tournament. After the Crusher and Baker exchanged offense early, the Crusher seemed seemed to have the match won via his CRUSHER BOLO. But Heenan jumped up on the apron to break up the count. Angry, the Crusher went over and grabbed Heenan. after seeking and getting the crowd's approval, the Crusher proceeded to hit Heenan who crumpled to the floor from the force of the blow. But Heenan's interference allowed Baker time to recover and he attacked the Crusher from behind. The action continued as the Crusher and Baker proceeded to pummel each other until the action spilled outside of the ring and Baker got DQd for smashing the ring bell on the Crusher's head. The Crusher however continued to pummel Baker. who he threw into the ring, until Baker's fellow Heenan Family member King Kong Bundy arrived and attacked the Crusher with an elbow drop off the ropes followed by a running power slam and, as Baker held the Crusher against the turnbuckle, two AVALANCHES. A still battered Heenan crawled back into the ring and told the Crusher that next week he would have to face Baker in a finisher match of the CRUSHER BOLO vs the HEARTPUNCH. Heenan then announced he had already arranged a match in which the Crusher would have to wrestle Bundy at Unforgiven!
Match #8: Double Axe Attack vs World Champion Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens (managed by Bobby Heenan)
The Hennigs looked great and it even took a pin save from Stevens to save Bockwinkel from an otherwise apparently successful pin attempt following THE AXE by Larry Hennig. But Bockwinkel managed to counter a twisting head ringer from Curt Hennig who was then hit by a back suplex followed by a pile driver from Bockwinkel. Bockwinkel then applied his BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER to Curt Hennig for the victory.
Winners: World Champion Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens
Match #9, Gold Rush Tournament Finals: Bobo Brazil (accompanied by Mil Mascaras) vs Antonino Rocca
This great match between these two fan favorites saw both Brazil and Rocca score multiple pin and/or submission attempts against each other. The win came when Brazil had Rocca trapped in a bearhug and then hit him with a COCO BUTT for the 3 count.
Winner: Bobo Brazil
Brazil wins the Gold Rush Tournament and will challenge Nick Bockwinkel for the World Championship at Unforgiven! Finishing in second place of the Gold Rush Tournament, Rocca will challenge Larry Zbyszko for the Intercontinental Championship at Unforgiven in a rematch from Summer Slam!
Mascaras comes into the ring to celebrate with his friend Brazil when MLW Chairman Sammartino arrives and tells Brazil and Mascaras that next week's main event on AWA:RAW (the last such episode prior to Unforgiven on September 17) will be the Brothers of Other Mothers (Brazil and Mascaras) vs Bockwinkel and Stevens!
Brazil and Mascaras continue to celebrate as the show comes to an end and the screen fades to black.
See you tomorrow for NWA:NITRO- the main weekly show of Major League Wrestling's other brand the NWA-when we find out whether Buddy Rogers demand for a rematch against Frank Gotch, who defeated Rogers for the MLW Championship last week, will be granted!
