Card 91: July 19th, LWF Arena (New York, NY)
Danny Doring vs. Virgil: Virgil missed a dive from the top and Doring immediately scored a pin.
Dick Hutton vs. Steve Corino: Corino survived a lot of punishment but eventually was pinned after an atomic drop.
Curt Hennig vs. S.D. Jones: Another quick win for Hennig. This time he used the rolling neck snap to set up the pin.
Tag Team Match The Valiant Brothers with Lou Albano vs. The Armstrongs: After Jimmy hit the SUPER ELBOW on Brad; Bob came in to make the save. All four men ended up in a wild brawl and the referee disqualified both teams.
World Television Title Match Danny Hodge vs. World Television Champion Greg Valentine with Lou Albano: Valentine dominated with power moves again and scored the pin after a flying crossbody from the top.
Number One Contender’s match for the US Heavyweight Title Frank Gotch vs. Iron Sheik: Gotch says before the match that he knows the crowd doesn’t like him, but he’s going to win this one for America. The match never really gets going though, as Sheik is disqualified shortly into the match for climbing the ropes.
George Hackenschmidt vs. Ivan Koloff: Hack wins by his RUSSIAN BEAR HUG on The Russian Bear. After the match Nikolai Volkoff runs down and attacks Hack from behind. The two brawl for a bit until Koloff recovers and the two Soviets hit Hack with a double clothesline. George Hackenschmidt is hurt for 4 cards. How will this effect Hack’s upcoming Title shot?
Main Event: Non-Title Match Justin Credible vs. United States Heavyweight Champion Rikidozan: Another win by THUNDEROUS CHOPS for the Champion.

Card 92: July 26th, LWF Arena (New York, NY)
Ladies and gentlemen, George Hackenschmidt was injured last week due to an assault by Ivan Koloff and Nikolai Volkoff. He was scheduled to take on “Argentina” Rocca for the World Heavyweight Championship this Saturday night in Philadelphia. However, the League cares for the safety of its athletes. Therefore, the Championship Committee has decided that they will not allow Hackenschmidt to compete injured for the Title.
So, tonight we will have a special 8 man Tournament. 8 Wrestlers from the top 16 have been chosen at random and they will compete tonight to see who will face Rocca on Saturday night.
First Round Matches Brad Armstrong vs. Curt Hennig: Hennig had this to say earlier today. “Brad Armstrong, right now your record in singles competition is perfect. But you’re not the perfect wrestler. How fitting we face each other tonight in the tournament. After tonight you will have a blemish on your record, and I will have the chance to become the first undefeated World Heavyweight Champion in history.” This was easily the hardest match of either man’s career here in the LWF. Both second generation stars brought all they had and it was not the walk in the park for Hennig most expected. Both men won the crowd over with their sheer guts as they traded holds and counter holds. Neither man hit his finisher, but Hennig finally secured a pin after a rolling neck snap.
Dick Hutton vs. Danny Hodge: The two Oklahoma boys shake hands before coming out to wrestle. This solid match saw lots of mat wrestling. Hutton scored the pin after an atomic drop.
Iron Sheik vs. Nikolai Volkoff with Nikita Breznikov: An interesting pairing here. Many don’t like that Volkoff was included in the tournament seeing as how he had a hand in Hack’s injury. These two have been partners in the past but Sheik has been distancing himself from the Soviets as of late. These two had a hard brawl with many infractions of the rules. After Sheik managed to slam Volkoff on the concrete floor referee Charles Robinson had enough and disqualified Sheik.
Rick Rude with Bobby Heenan vs. World Television Champion Greg Valentine with Lou Albano: Rude believes that he should be the number one contender since he was the looser of the match Hackenschmidt won to become number one contender. But the League has said no runners up and he will have to fight for his chance. There’s no denying Valentine’s success as of late but his mandatory World Television Title defense has been suspended for tonight. A very physical match. Greg won by piledriving Rude on the floor and winning by countout when Rude was unable to recover.
Semi Finals Curt Hennig vs. Dick Hutton (1): Another HENNIG PLEX victory for Hennig, as he turned away the stiff challenge of Hutton.
Nikolai Volkoff with Nikita Breznikov (1) vs. World Television Champion Greg Valentine with Lou Albano: The crafty Valentine wins another with a sunset flip on the big man for a pin.
Finals Curt Hennig vs. World Television Champion Greg Valentine with Lou Albano: What an upset. Valentine misses a clothesline and Henning takes him down. He hit a rolling neck snap and got a two count on the TV Champ, then hit the HENNIG PLEX to win in under a minute. Hennig is going to fight for the Heavyweight Championship of the World with a perfect record.

Card 93: July 29th, Philadelphia Spectrum (Philadelphia, PA)
Danny Doring vs. Virgil: Decent opener. Doring won with a G-Spot Sweep.
S.D. Jones vs. Steve Corino: Corino came back from behind with a Northern Lights Suplex to take the win. Corino ignores the bell and continues to attack Jones. He drags him out on the floor and gives him a pair of backbreakers. S.D. Jones is hurt for 6 cards.
Ivan Koloff vs. Jim Brunzell: Koloff beat down Brunzell and grinded him into submission with his version of the RUSSIAN BEARHUG! What does George Hackenschmdit think of this?
Nikolai Volkoff with Nikita Breznikov vs. B. Brian Blair: The Soviets must be sending a message to The Russian Lion. Volkoff beat down Blair and put him away with another Russian Bear Hug.
Ted DiBiase vs. Justin Credible: Justin came to play and traded close to even with DiBiase. That didn’t stop DiBiase from busting Justin up and taking the win after a second rope elbow.
Dick Hutton vs. Youssof Ishmaelo: One falling body slam and The Turk beat Hutton in seconds.
United States Heavyweight Title Match Frank Gotch vs. United States Heavyweight Champion Rikidozan: Rikidozan has had Gotch’s number as of late. Let’s see if the wrestling machine can get back to his winning ways. After a back and forth start Rikidozan hit his THUNDEROUS CHOPS out of nowhere and humiliated Gotch with a win in less than a minute.
World Television Title Match Diamond Dallas Page vs. World Television Champion Greg Valentine with Lou Albano: Page pitched a shut out as the dominant Valentine never got a move off. He hit the DIAMOND CUTTER within three moves but Albano made the save. Undaunted, Page immediately hit the DIAMOND CUTTER again and became the new World Television Champion!
World Tag Team Title Match The Valiant Brothers with Lou Albano vs. World Tag Team Champions The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette: Bobby Eaton and Jimmy Valiant were both bloodied severely as the two teams went to all out war with each other. We lost count of the number of finishing moves that were executed but Eaton took three SUPER ELBOWS to be sure. Finally, the Midnighters hit the VEG-O-MATIC and Lane was able to pin Johnny to retain.
Main Event: World Heavyweight Title Match Curt Hennig vs. World Heavyweight Champion Antonino Rocca: The press has called this match the “Rocky Challenge” as the relative unknown in Hennig is getting a shot at the greatest title in Professional Wrestling. The Champion is the favorite and nothing has been able to stop him, but you have to figure Hennig has the unknown factor going for him. This will be only his 9th match and Rocca has never faced him before.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for one fall with curfew time remaining and is for the Heavyweight Championship of the World! Introducing first to my right the challenger, he is from Robinsdale, Minnesota. He weighed in tonight at 256 pounds. His professional record is a perfect record of 8 and 0. Curt Hennig!
“And his opponent, from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He weighed in at 225 pounds. His record is 24 and 6 and he is the two time, reigning, and defending Heavyweight Champion of the World. He is Antonino “Argentina” Rocca!”
This will be Rocca’s 11th defense of his second reign as champion. Hennig has never held or even fought for a title thus far. The two shake hands after hearing Referee Nick Patrick’s instructions. They both go to their corners and wait for the bell. The bell rings and both men come out to the center. Rocca is always moving as usual. Curt has a more amateur stance coming out. The two tie up. After a struggle the Challenger takes control of the tie up. He throws Rocca back and slaps him hard across the face. The crowd shows their disapproval and it looks like we won’t be having any more sportsmanship tonight. Hennig applies a twisting head ringer but Rocca gets free with little damage done. Hennig grabs two handfuls of hair and tosses The Champion across the ring. Rocca’s down and Hennig hits his rolling neck snap. Rocca’s still stunned and Hennig hits it again for good measure. Rocca’s to his feet and he catches a forearm hammer to the face. He falls back to the mat and Hennig again hits the rolling neck snap. Henning synchs him up now, HENNIG PLEX! He’s got the bridge! 1… 2… Rocca kicks out! Might have been a bit too early for Hennig to go for that, then again he might be showing Rocca he can hit it at any time. Rocca gets to his feet and Hennig hits him with The Axe, shades of his father there. And now Hennig tosses The Champion to the floor. He goes out after Rocca and the two start to brawl. The referee is trying to break it up. Hennig gets the better of Rocca and tosses him back in the ring. Notice he made sure Rocca was in before he went in, Hennig does not want a count out. Another rolling neck snap and Hennig gets a 1 count from a lateral press. Rocca’s not going down yet. Wait, Hennig has him hooked again, HENNIG PLEX! He’s got his fingers laced. 1… 2… 3! I can’t believe it. Rocca’s right back to his feet. He was barely hurt, he just couldn’t escape. Curt Hennig has done the impossible. He is the new Heavyweight Champion of the World and he is undefeated! Rocca’s 6 month amazing reign that saw him defend the title in a 64 man tournament is at an end. We have a new Heavyweight Champion of the World!

Card 94: August 2nd, LWF Arena (New York, NY)
Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a new Heavyweight Champion of the World in Curt Hennig. How will this effect the League? Welcome to August in the LWF!
Steve Corino vs. Koko B. Ware: Fans are happy to see Koko back. Corino seems to be impatient and The Birdman interacts with his fans before entering the ring. Koko made a flurry to start the match and got a 2 Count to the GHOSTBUSTER. But Corino came back and won with his OLD SCHOOL EXPULSION!
Ivan Koloff vs. Hawk with Paul Ellering: The Soviets are taking on another team in singles competition tonight. Can they get past The Road warriors like they did The Killer Bees? Koloff stumbled, and Hawk used a FLYING CLOTHESLINE to get his first ever singles win!
Danny Doring vs. Buddy Rose with Sherri Martel: Fans seem happier to see Sherri again than Rose. These two had a falling out when Sherri joined The Million Dollar Corporation, but seem to have patched things up. Doring takes a shot at impressing Sherri before the match but she seems uninterested. We understand she has been petitioning for reinstatement as a wrestler to start wrestling men again in the absence of a Women’s Division. Rose dominated and took Doring down with a BOMBS AWAY! All Sherri had to do was look good, and she accomplished that quite well.
Youssuf Ishmaelo vs. Antonio Inoki: This may The Turk’s greatest test to date, as he takes on a former World Champion. Inoki won that title and had to surrender it due to an injury sustained in the same match, don’t think he doesn’t have the big belt on his mind as he makes his return to the League. The Terrible Turk brutalized the former Champion but never seemed to go for the win. A hurt Inoki recovered and started a comeback, but the Turk took it to the floor where he rammed Inoki to the guardrail. Despite warning from the referee the Turk attacked Inoki with the ring bell and was disqualified.
Ted DiBiase vs. Iron Sheik: Reversals galore as both men display their technical prowess. Sheik kept the edge through out the match and after DiBiase survived the CAMEL CLUTCH he could not escape a Boston Crab. There can be no arguing that DiBiase has not been as effective since coming over to the side of the angels.
Nikolai Volkoff with Nikita Breznikov vs. Animal with Paul Ellering: A no contest happened after both big men beat on each other with little effect. They continued their fight on the floor and there was a double count out.
Bill Apter’s Hot Seat with George Hackenshmidt Hack says he is healing nicely and he is looking forward to returning to take on Koloff. After he deals with Koloff he plans on pursuing his lost Title Shot.
Tag Team Non Title Match The Armstongs vs. World Tag Team Champions The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette: Eaton has to be hurt from his match last Saturday, but surprisingly he starts the match. He surprises Bullet Bob with a sunset flip in the opening minutes of the match and steals a three count. The Midnight Express weren’t working by the hour tonight.
Main Event: World Television Title Match Rick Rude with Bobby Heenan vs. World Television Champion Diamond Dallas Page: The first defense for the new TV Champion. The DIAMOND CUTTER secures him another win. Rude is starting to look lost. He needs to turn it around here and soon.

Card 95: August 9th, LWF Arena (New York, NY)
Bob Armstrong vs. Buddy Rose with Sheri Martel: Well Sherri posed for the fans Bob quickly put Rose down with a SLEEPER! Rose yelled at Sherri afterwards for not saving him.
Steve Corino vs. Danny Hodge: Should be a test of both men. Hodge has been successful as of late, but Corino could always surprise you. The match degraded into a brawl on the floor and both men were counted out. Security had to be called to separate them.
World Television Title Match Brad Armstrong vs. World Television Champion Diamond Dallas Page: LWF Officials feel as though Armstrong has earned a shot at the TV Title. Both men shake hands before the match and this should be a good scientific competition. Brad came to fight, and poured on the offence. Page got a few early covers before having to go toe to toe with the young Armstrong. After a long match with many counters Page got control and hit the DIAMOND CUTTER to retain his title.
Tag Match The Road Warriors with Paul Ellering vs. The Valiant Brothers with Lou Albano: Both teams looking to get back in the Title Hunt. No tags were ever made as Animal surprised Jimmy with a bodyblock into a cover early in the match and got a three count.
Iron Sheik vs. Bruiser Brody: Brody told us earlier that he doesn’t care about Title or victories. He’s back in the LWF for the fans and plans to raise some hell. He did just that as he brutalized Sheik and got a win with his JUMPING KNEE DROP!
Non-Title Match Nikolai Volkoff with Nikita Breznikov vs. United States Heavyweight Champion Rikidozan: Rikidozan made short work of the Soviet with his HIPLOCK!
Harley Race vs. Mike DiBiase: Unlike Brody, Race is back with one thing on his mind. The Former World Champion wants the Title back and he starts his path tonight. DiBiase proved he’s no slouch and took Race to a stellar 15 minute match. Race hit the PILEDRIVER and DiBiase kept coming and took a lot more punishment before another PILEDRIVER put him down.
Vignette Japan has given the wrestling world several greats like former World Champion’s Antonio Inoki and Giant Baba. Many wrestlers have gone to Japan as stars and been loved by the fans there. One man took a different path. The independent territories of Oklahoma were not enough for this man, and he would not come to the LWF as a no body. Japan gave us Inoki and Baba, but America gave them Dr. Death! The man called Steve Williams is a former All American and armature stand out. He went to Japan a rookie. They welcomed him as a warrior, and for two years he broke their bones, spilled their blood, and won their Championships. To end his reign of terror, Japan is sending him home. The LWF is on notice: Dr. Death is near!
Main Event: Last Man Standing Match Youssuf Ishmaelo vs. Antonio Inoki: Inoki was outraged by last week’s match and he asked the LWF to sanction this legalized brawl. Can the Turk walk the walk against a tough as nails martial artist? The winner will have to knock out the other man to prove his toughness. With no holds barred the fans were amazed to see the Turk weather Inoki’s attacks and repeatedly apply his STRANGLEHOLD! Inoki applied his arsenal of holds, but the Turk out brawled him and in the end choked Inoki out and was declared the winner. The fans weren’t happy and this has to be considered and upset.

Card 96: August 16th, LWF Arena (New York, NY)
Dark Matches Koko B. Ware vs. Steve Williams: The arena fans get a special first look at Dr. Death as he has his first LWF Arena match. The fans thought it was all hype as Koko opened with a flurry and got a long two count with the GHOSTBUSTER. Then Williams came back and started to systematically assault Ware. Tackles, lariats, and the fabled Dr. Bomb were all just set up for the OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE and Williams walked away with the win.
The Killer Bees vs. The Valiant Brothers with Lou Albano: The Valiants looked dominant again, man handling the former World Tag Team Champions. Blair saved Brunzell from two SUPER ELBOWS but Jimmy then hit an atomic drop for the win. Albano has been keeping these guys on the same page and they are starting to get it back together.
Televised Matches As the show comes on the air Joey Styles announces that Curt Hennig will make his first appearance since becoming World Champion.
Bob Armstrong vs. Virgil: Virgil powered his way to a win with a pin after a running tackle!
Rematch Danny Hodge vs. Steve Corino: After the double count out last week, fans have been calling in demanding a rematch and the League is happy to give it to them. This time Hodge had little trouble. Although Corino took a tremendous amount of punishment to put down, Hodge won after a standing dropkick.
Harley Race vs. Ted DiBiase: This could be a big match for both men, but it will be interesting to see if DiBiase can get out of this rut he’s been in against a former World and 2 time United States Champion. DiBiase almost gets a huge win from the start as Race jumped him on the floor. DiBiase avoided the assault and put Race’s head into the time keeper’s table before the bell rang, then he dragged him inside and nearly got the win with his FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK but Race escaped. He got no offence off, however, as DiBiase beat him from corner to corner and twice nearly pinned him after a BIG RIGHT HAND with that odd glove he’s been wearing. Reeling, Race was again caught in the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK and submitted. This has to be DiBiase’s biggest win since his comeback.
Bruiser Brody vs. Youssuf Ishmaelo: The Terrible Turk is still high off his astounding defeat of Antonio Inoki last week, but he’ll be tested against the wild man of New Mexico here tonight. Turk punishes Brody in the early going but after a big clothesline Brody hits his JUMPING KNEE DROP and easily pins the monster from Turkey. Brody has been very focused for a guy who says he doesn’t care about titles.
Tag Team Match The Road Warriors with Paul Ellering vs. The Fabulous Kangaroos with Red Berry: Great tag wrestling as the Kangaroos cut the ring in half and went to work on Hawk. After both Roos hit several of their big moves Costello managed to keep Animal at bay as Heffernan pinned Hawk after a Crocodile Smash.
World Television Title Match Dick Hutton vs. World Television Champion Diamond Dallas Page: Hutton has never really found a place here in the LWF. Maybe a TV Title Victory can launch him into the running. After a back and forth match up Page missed a dive from the top and Hutton used an Oklahoma sideroll to win his first LWF Title and end Page’s first reign.
Non Title Match Danny Doring vs. World Heavyweight Champion Curt Hennig: Hennig has refused to talk to anyone in the pres since winning the Title, but we understand he has been in deep negotiations with several managers. This was a surprisingly long match up. Hennig seemed to be toying with Doring for a lot of the match, but he never seemed to be able to get him in a pinning predicament. Doring had once nice flurry and dominated the Champion for a stretch, before Hennig came back and used the HENNIGPLEX to secure victory.
Main Event: George Hackenschmidt vs. Ivan Koloff: The Russian Lion wasted little time demanding this match up once he was medically cleared, and The Russian Bear was happy to accept it. It was nearly over before it started as Koloff tried to attack Hackenschmidt with a chair outside the ring before the bell. Hack avoided and hit a drop toe hold causing Koloff to hit himself with the chair as it collided with the guard rail. Referee Nick Patrick let it go and started the match after they both got in the ring. The two traded even for most of the match and Koloff even showed some of his rarely used scientific ability. But in the end he once again attacked Hackenschmidt with his chain and was disqualified. I don’t think he wants to pin Hack, he just wants to keep hurting him.

Card 97: August 23rd, LWF Arena (New York, NY)
Dark Matches Non Title Match The Killer Bees vs. World tag Team Champions The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette: A special appearance by the Tag Champs for the Arena fans. Brunzell was brutalized during the match and was cut open bad. Eaton and Lane both showed their skills and a VEG-O-MATIC put Blair down for the three count.
Justin Credible vs. Steve Williams: Another sneak peak of Dr. Death for the New York Arena fans. Justin looks cocky and doesn’t seem too worried with the new comer. Everyone, including the fans and Justin himself, seemed stunned that Williams never really got going and Justin pinned him after a second THAT’S INCREDIBLE!
Televised Matches
The League has made no announcements as to who will be fighting for the titles next week at our big Mid South Show. Fans are encouraged to get tickets and be prepared to be surprised if no contenders are named before then.
Virgil vs. Brad Armstrong: Everyone was surprised by Virgil’s victory over Bullet Bob, and young Brad wants to prove it was a fluke. Brad dominated and quickly won with a RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP!
Bruiser Brody vs. Frank Gotch: Brody announced this will be his last regular Televised match for a while. He encouraged fans to come out and see him on tour live when the LWF comes to Memphis next week. Brody made quick work of The Wrestling machine who looks like his best days may be behind him. Brody got the pin with a JUMPING KNEE DROP!
George Hackenshmidt vs. Greg Valentine with Lou Albano: Valentine dominated the match, but after a slip up on the floor he was easy prey for the RUSSIAN BEAR HUG!
Antonino Rocca vs. Rick Rude with Bobby Heenan: Rocca’s first match back since loosing the title. He told us he took time off to recover some minor injuries and now is looking forward to a full time schedule again. He intends to avenge his loss against Rude from a few months back. Rude went toe to toe with the former Champion and both men controlled parts of the match. The fourth ARGENTINA BACKBREAKER was too much for Rude.
Number One Contenders Tag Team Match The Fabulous Kangaroos with Red Berry vs. The Valiant Brothers with Lou Albano: Finally the set up for a scheduled title match. Both Teams have been dominant as of late and each has beaten former World Tag Team Champions in the last week. Who will The Midnight Express face in Memphis next week? Heffernan fought the whole match for his team, matching talents with both Valiants. He dragged Jimmy into a brawl on the floor and just beat the count back in leaving the Kangaroos fresh and Valiant counted out. The Midnight Express better be prepared.
Iron Mike DiBiase vs. Iron Sheik: Sheik made quick work of Iron Mike with the CAMEL CLUTCH!
Backstage Interview Booby Heenan is standing with a microphone in the back. “You know I’ve heard a lot of talk lately from ignorant peons who don’t know what they are talking about. They say the Heenan Family is dead. They say Bobby Heenan can’t even keep Rick Rude on the winning path. They say I’m washed up as a manager. Well I have news for those so called experts. The Heenan Family is not dead. Nick Bockwinkel is coming back. His contract starts first week of October. Rick Rude will be United States Heavyweight Champion by that time. And I have a few other surprises in store. Those of you who doubted “The Brain” will be in a world of trouble when we have all the gold. When we rule this league. Now go watch your World Television Title Match, you ignorant humanoids!”
World Television Title Match Danny Hodge vs. World Television Champion Dick Hutton: A great scientific match. Hodge used the OKLAHOMA SIDE ROLL to pin Hutton, just as Hutton did Page, and became the new TV Champ! The two Oklahomans shook hands after the match.
Main Event Ted DiBiase vs. Nikolai Volkoff with Nikita Breznikov: DiBiase fought hard, but Volkoff repeatedly caught him in the Russian Bear Hug and finally DiBiase submitted. A big win for Volkoff, another startling setback for DiBiase.

Card 98: August 30th, LWF Arena (New York, NY)
Dark Matches Illio Dipaolo vs. Justin Credible: Fresh of his surprising win over Dr. Death, Justin looks to beat another newcomer before he makes it to TV. Dipaolo works fast and quickly pins Justin after an AIRPLANE SPIN!
Tag Team Match Brutus Beefcake and Buff Bagwell vs. Red Bastion and Billy Red Lyons: Two teams of returning stars fight for the Arena Audience before coming back to TV. Bagwell and Beefcake are hoping they have what it takes to be a big team in the LWF. Beefcake pins Lyons with a chokeslam just as the match gets underway. Not a bad start for this team.
Televised Matches Ray Stevens with Bobby Heenan vs. Konnan: Konnan returns after touring for his latest album. He told us he has TV Gold on his mind. Heenan has brought a newcomer who we’ve heard little about. Is this one of his surprises? Stevens pounds Konnan with some punishing moves, including repeated piledrivers, but gets disqualified when the two get in a braw on the floor and Stevens wraps a chair around Konnan’s head. Heenan, despite the loss, looks pleased.
Bobo Brazil vs. Rick Rude with Bobby Heenan: When Heenan found out that Brazil was coming back he made sure Rude had the first shot. He’s set quit a time table for himself to make Rude a US Champion. Rude jumps Brazil with a chair before the match, but Brazil fights on and eventually gets the pin after one of many COCO BUTTS! Heenan’s plan doesn’t seem to be working.
Tag Team Match The Road Warriors with Paul Ellering vs. The Valiant Brothers with Lou Albano: All out tag team war as all four men bleed and both managers got involved. With both teams beaten half to death and seemingly no one getting the advantage, The Road Warriors hit a double clothesline on Johnny and hawk managed to pin him.
World Television Title Match Don Muraco with Lou Albano vs. World Television Champion Danny Hodge: Albano must have pulled some strings to get his returning man a TV Title shot in his first match. But Hodge used his sped and skill to keep Muraco off his game and pinned him with an OKLAHOMA SIDE ROLL!
Non-Title Match Buddy Rose with Sherri Martel vs. United States Heavyweight Champion Rikidozan: The Champion basically used Rose for a punching bag for ten minutes before Sherri distracted him. Rose hit him from behind, hit the BOMBS AWAY and still couldn’t get the win. He was the disqualified for attacking Rikidozan and the referee while The Champion was tied up in the ropes.
Tag Team Match The Fabulous Kangaroos with Red Berry vs. The Armstrongs: As part of the ongoing restructuring of the League, wrestlers were told this week that they could compete in tag or singles but not both. Despite the Armstrongs decent singles records, they decided to give tagging a try to see what they could accomplish. They hung tough against the #1 Contenders, but Heffernan soon made Brad tap out to a STEPOVER TOE HOLD!
Number One Contender’s Match for the United States Heavyweight Title Nikolai Volkoff with Nikita Breznikov vs. Antonino Rocca: Volkoff grounded Rocca and gave him a tough match, but he came back with his speed and won with his ARGENTINIAN BACKBREAKER!
Main Event: Number One Contender’s Match for the World Heavyweight Title George Hackenschmidt vs. Iron Sheik: After a back and forth scientific masterpiece, Sheik lost control and attacked Hack in the corner repeatedly, and then punched the referee for warning him. The referee immediately called for the disqualification. As Hackenschmidt celebrated Bobby Heenan appeared and told the arena he had just inked a deal to be the manager of World Heavyweight Champion Curt Hennig!

Card 99: September 1st, Mid South Coliseum (Memphis, TN)
Ray Stevans with Bobby Heenan vs. Koko B. Ware: A bloody Koko rallied to a big comeback and took the match with his GHOSTBUSTER!
Rick Rude with Bobby Heenan vs. Danny Doring: A decent back and forth match. Rude eventually dominated and won after a RUDE AWAKENING!
Steve Williams vs. Justin Credible: Although the SINGAPORE CANE was involved, fans were shocked to see that Justin apparently has Williams number and pinned him again.
Ilio Dipaolo vs. Steve Corino: A great back and forth match until Corino used a pair of brass knuckles and was disqualified.
Tag Team Match The Road Warriors with Paul Ellering vs. The Valiant Brothers with Lou Albano: Jimmy gets a surprisingly quick win by pinning Animal with a SUPER ELBOW! Afterwards Hawk throws Johnny out of the ring and goes on the attack on Jimmy. Animal recovers and the Road warriors floor Jimmy with a double clothesline before Animal hits the POWERSLAM twice on the battered Jimmy. Jimmy Valiant is hurt for 2 Cards.
Bruiser Brody vs. Don Muraco with Lou Albano: Brody plowed past Muraco in a matter of seconds with a big boot to the face!
Ted DiBiase vs. Nikolai Volkoff with Nikita Breznikov: DiBiase avenged his earlier loss with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK!
Frank Gotch vs. Dick Hutton: Hutton, recharged after his TV Title win, dominated Gotch and took the win with an Oklahoma Side Roll!
United States Heavyweight Title Match Antonino Rocca vs. United States Heavyweight Champion Rikidozan: These two last met over the World Title at the end of the Tournament. Rocca was Champion at the time and he retained. Can Rikidozan hold on to his US Title? The two traded back and forth and at one point Rocca seems to have Rikidozan pinned but the referee is down. As the match kept going Rikidozan came back with THUNDEROUS CHOPS and retained his title.
World Tag Team Title Match The Fabulous Kangaroos with Red Berry vs. World Tag Team Champions The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette: Never have the Midnight Express been so dominated! Eaton was completely cut off as The Kangaroos made quick tags and kept Lane out of the match. After Taking three or four Finishers, Eaton tapped out screaming to the STEP OVER TOEHOLD! The Kangaroos put themselves on the map and are the new LWF World Tag Team Champions!
Cage Match Antonio Inoki vs. Youssuf Ishmaelo: This is a personal grudge match Inoki was embarrassed by The Turk in the Last Man Standing match. He plans on getting revenge tonight in the cage. Turk dominated the early going, but Inoki rallied and pinned The Turk in the cage after an ENZUIGIRI!
Main Event: World Heavyweight Title Match George Hackenschmidt vs. World Heavyweight Champion Curt Hennig with Bobby Heenan: Both men come to the ring. Hennig is bouncing around warming up. Hackenschmidt is stoic and focused. And everyone is wondering what role Heenan will play. Hennig controlled the early going. He got a long two count seconds into the match to the HENNIG PLEX! Then Hack started coming back. He beat Hennig from pillar to post and repeatedly applied the RUSSIAN BEAR HUG. But Hennig kept escaping. Barely on his feet, Hennig got trapped again in the RUSSIAN BEAR HUG and Bobby Heenan attacked Hack from behind. Hack picked up Heenan and press slammed him out of the ring, and then went back on the attack. Hennig survived another pin attempt before being taken down by a wristlock suplex and pinned. George Hackenschmidt has finally done it! He is the Heavyweight Champion of the World! Was Hennig all hype or was Hack just too much for him?

Card 100: October 4th, LWF Arena (Atlanta, GA)
We welcome you to the beginning of a new era in the LWF. We sincerely apologize for not being with you the last month, and we hope tonight makes it up to you. Let’s go to the back with Bobby “The Brain” Heenan!
“Never let it be said I can’t smell change in the wind. I saw this whole thing coming. And I told you The Heenan Family would be back on top again. The LWF went through a lot to keep me and my guys in this League, so here’s what’s gonna happen. Tonight Danny Hodge will defend his TV Title against Heenan Family member, Cowboy Bob Orton. The next time Rikidozan steps in the ring, he will put his US Title up against my man, “Ravishing” Rick Rude. And Curt Hennig is getting a rematch, tonight, for the World Heavyweight Title. All of that, plus the smartest wrestler in the world, Nick Bockwinkel, is back in the LWF. You can’t stop The Heenan Family, and the LWF gave us everything we wanted just to keep us here.”
Television Debut Cousin Luke vs. Steve Williams: We’re happy we managed to keep this blue chipper in the split. Finally making his TV debut a bit late is “Dr. Death” Steve Williams. Luke never touched him as Williams hit a series of stiff moves and quickly pinned the Hillbilly with the OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE!
Mad Dog Vachon vs. Hacksaw Jim Duggan: Mad Dog has gone solo without his brother and is looking to mark some territory. Two strait PILEDRIVERS put Duggan down for the three as Vachon foamed at the mouth.
Ivan Koloff vs. Konnan: Ivan dominated and ground Konnan down, but a surprise summersault lariat stunned him and Konnan got the pin.
Ed Lewis vs. King Kong Bundy with Bobby Heenan: Bundy got in some licks, but couldn’t survive repeatedly being locked in the STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK!
Tag Team Match The Killer Bees vs. The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette: We understand Stan Lane is taking some time off. “Loverboy” Dennis Condrey will be filling in for him. How this effects The Midnight Express in the ratings is yet to be determined. Condrey pinned Blair after Cornette distracted him.
Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan vs. Yukon Eric: Bockwinkel almost immediately dragged Eric to the floor, started a brawl, and used Bobby’s interference to distract the referee while he floored Eric with a chair. Nick went back in the ring and he and Bobby laughed as Eric was counted out on the floor.
Backstage Hackenschmidt is walking with Rocca. As various other wrestlers come up and congratulate George or wish him luck for tonight, Rocca tells Hackenschmidt about the riggers of being Champion. He then jokingly says he never got a rematch after he lost the belt, pats the title, and wishes George good luck.
LWF World Television Title Match Cowboy Bob Orton with Bobby Heenan vs. LWF World Television Champion Danny Hodge: Win or loose tonight, the LWF should be on notice that a solid competitor like Orton is back on the roster. Orton steamrolls Hodge in rout to his first title with a SUPERPLEX!
Main Event: LWF World Heavyweight Title Match Curt Hennig with Bobby Heenan vs. LWF World Heavyweight Champion George Hackenschmidt: Heenan should have paid more attention if he wanted his plan to go all the way through. Hennig was on fire and got a long two count to the HENNIG PLEX! But as the match spilled to the floor Hennig slammed Hack through a table and was disqualified.

Card 101: October 6th, WLA Arena (New York, NY)
Welcome to the first historic night of action in the WLA. Tonight we begin intense competition to see who will be the new World Heavyweight Champion. We’ll also be sanctioning World Tag Team Titles and an American Heavyweight Title. Welcome to the WLA.
Gorgeous George with Cherie Dupree vs. S.D. Jones: Jones is just now recovering from an injury he sustained at the hands of Steve Corino. We think Corino sighing with the WLA had a lot to do with Jones sighing. In the other corner we have Gorgeous George, an amazing athlete who was under used in the LWF in our opinion. You may hear that a lot tonight, but we stand buy it. George used all his tricks, including Cherie tripping Jones up to get a win with his SPINNING TOE HOLD!
Larry Hennig vs. Koko B. Ware: Speed vs. power and power won out after Larry connected with a second big AXE and scored the three count.
Ilio Dipaolo vs. Greg Valentine with Lou Albano: we’re very happy to have both of these men on the roster. Dipaolo is a great signing for us considering he has just started what we think will be a brilliant career. Dipaolo trades even with Valentine and we see some great chain wrestling. Dipaolo uses his power to maintain control and his AIRPLANE SPIN to take the match!
Video Interview with Killer Kowalski “I understand this so called Terrible Turk was a big monster in the LWF. He even beat Antonio Inoki by knock out. Well, I signed with the WLA for one reason, to be its resident monster. So Ishmaelo, our paths will cross sooner than later. Then you’ll see who the monster is.”
Youssuf Ishmaelo vs. The Sandman: Turk beat and bloodied Sandman half to death. But the Hardcore Icon picked his spot, hit a SINGAPORE CANE shot, and then a HARDCORE DDT for the win. Ishmaelo kicked out right after the three and was furious as Sandman climbed into the crowd and drank beer as he bled profusely.
Don Leo Jonathon vs. Don Muraco with Lou Albano: A battle for bug man supremacy here in the WLA. Both men show off their power, but Jonathon attempts to show his graceful side with a dive from the top. Muraco avoids it and gets the pin.
Tag Team Match Red Bastion & Billy Lyons vs. Buff Bagwell & Brutus Beefcake: After being on fire the whole match and dominating both of his opponents, Bastion was stunned by a scoop slam by Bagwell and surprisingly pinned.
Ted DiBiase vs. Buddy Rogers: DiBiase was happy to come here as part of his attempt at a new start. Rogers may be the greatest wrestler never to hold a championship. Rogers used a couple of atomic drops to make short work of DiBiase.
Main Event Frank Gotch vs. Jim Londos: We have made no bones about saying Gotch is the WLA’s franchise player. Londos is no slouch himself, and this should be a mat classic. Both men traded holds evenly and the match was only marred by Gotch repeatedly throwing Londos to the floor. After both men escaped each other’s finishing maneuvers Gotch suplexed Londos on the floor and Londos was unable to climb back in the ring before being counted out.

PWI Report: October 9th Just days after the first independent WLA show rumors are flying that the WLA has not full severed ties with the LWF. Supposedly both boards of directors are maintaining a friendly alliance, and the WLA ay put its top wrestlers up for the LWF’s existing World Titles rather than form their own. Apparently this came about because the WLA guaranteed Frank Gotch a World Heavyweight title shot as part of his contract. After signing with, and in fact after competing for the WLA, Gotch reportedly told WLA officials that he didn’t want a shot at “any made up title” and that if he were to be World Champion it would be by pinning former rival George Hackenschmidt, the LWF’s World Heavyweight Champion, dead center in the ring. We’ll stay with this shocking story.
