Card 76: April 26th, Philadelphia Spectrum (Philadelphia, PN)
This is our last televised event before the tournament begins next week. The World Champion is in action tonight. So is Frank Gotch, who turned his back on the fans and assaulted the champ last week. We even have Rikidozan vs. “The Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers. Strap in for a great night of wrestling.
Danny Hodge vs. The Sheik: Hodge requested to fight a heavyweight tonight, as he will certainly have to do in the tournament. But Was he prepared to face someone like The Sheik? He’s bested The Sheik’s nephew, Sabu. Can he put the Serian Madman away? These two gave us a hell of an opener. Technical wrestling vs. sadistic bloodletting. Sheik tried to keep in on the floor and Hodge tried to keep it on the mat. Sheik twice escaped the OKLAHOMA SIDE ROLL but was counted out when the two started brawling on the floor and Hodge beat the count back in. Danny Hodge, former Olympic Silver Medalist, is going into the tournament undefeated.
Youssuf Ishmaelo vs. Hawk with Paul Ellering: Since the Terrible Turk arrived here in LWF he’s been a powerhouse. He’s bruised flesh, spilled flesh, and knocked loose teeth. He’s been out to hurt people as much as win his matches, and all in the name of money. He wants the fans to know that he has ben demanding his prize money in gold and the League has complied. But tonight he faces a Road Warrior. Hawk steps out of the tag devision tonight to improve his seeding in the tournament and to see if he can put the Turk in his place. Ishmaelo attacks Hawk before Cappetta finishes his ring announcements. He beats Hawk down and immediately locks on the hold of his. The referee allows what some are calling a STRANGLEHOLD but Hawk powers out. Turk brawls around and takes it to the floor where Hawk regains control. He hits his FLYING CLOTHESLINE back in the ring but Turk kicks out. Hawk maintains control and really lays on the power moves. He just can’t keep Turk down. Turk escapes to the floor where he posts the Road Warrior. He gets him back n the ring and applies his camel backbreaker. Hawk taps out! That has to be the Turk’s biggest win to date. Ellering can’t believe it.
Konnan vs. Buddy Rose: Rose wins his first match back with two strait BOMBS AWAY knee drops.
World Television Title Match Yukon Eric vs. World Television Champion Greg Valentine with Lou Albano: Eric gave the new champ some difficulty, but Valentine slowly wore him down and finally put him away with the FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK! Valentine hangs on to that coveted number three seed for the tournament, along with his World Television Title.
Nikolai Volkoff with Nikita Breznikov vs. Diamond Dallas Page: Both men have been good lately. Page dominated most of the match but hit the DIAMOND CUTTER a bit early to be effective. He continued to dominate until Volkoff took it to the floor . He put Page to the rail, then shoved down the referee who disqualified him.
Rikidozan vs. Buddy Rogers: Good to see The Nature Boy back in action, and Rikidozan seems to be fully recovered from his injuries. Rikidozan thouroly dominated Rogers who bleed heavily in the match. But he couldn’t keep the Nature Boy down. A quick reversal, a takedown, and Rikidozan was giving up to the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE!
Frank Gotch vs. Danny Doring: Folks we want to let you know that Frank Gotch was given his choice of opponants for tonight. He picked Danny Doring, who’s only had one matche here. Nothing against Doring but he’s gonna have an uphill battle ahead of him. Doring landed some offence but was rode by Gotch most of the match. Gotch is like a different man, using his technical ability to punish as well as win the match. Doring eventuallt tapped to a crossface and armbar.
Main Event: Non Tital Match Bob Orton Sr. with Bobby Heenan vs. World Heavyweight Champion Antonino Rocca: Heenan continues to increase the manpower of his growing army, now adding the father of Cowboy Bob Orton. Bob Senior is a roughneck rassler and should be a challenge for The World Heavyweight Champion here tonight. Orton traded holds with the champ but Rocca made a quick comeback to take the match with his ARGENTINA BACKBREAKER!

Card 77: May 3rd, Tokyo Dome (Tokyo, Japan)
Tonight we prove we are a World based wrestling company as we kick off the World Title Tournament in Tokyo, Japan. The first field of competitors will square off in opening round matches tonight, including the reigning World Champion Antonino “Argentina” Rocca.
Johnny Valiant vs. Harley Race with Bobby Heenan: Race is a former World Champion and could easily take this tournament. But Valiant shouldn’t be discredited. Both men traded holds early but race started punishing Valiant. A crossbody from the top almost ended the match. When Race went up again he pushed Valiant into the ropes where he was tangled. The referee tried getting Johnny out but Race kept laying into him despite the referee’s warnings. Race eventually punched the referee himself and our first match is an upset with Handsome Harley already out of the running.
Billy Lyons vs. Sabu: Sabu dominated the match and got the win after repeatedly apllying the CAMEL CLUTCH!
Youssuf Ishmaelo vs. Yukon Eric: Eric dominated The Turk like no one else has since his arrival. He easily wore him down with power moves and even a leap from the top before locking on the KODIAK KRUNCH for the win.
Jim Brunzell vs. Antonio Inoki: Inoki dominated with his high impact style, but a leap off the ropes went wrong when he collided with the referee as well as Brunzell. To everyone’s surprise the referee disqualified him.
Brutus Beefcake with Lou Albano vs. Cowboy Bob Orton with Bobby Heenan: Orton mostly dominated with his high mat game and Albano wasn’t quick enough to save his man from a SUPERPLEX!
Iron Mike DiBiase vs. Larry Zbyszko: A solid match. Iron Mike hung with Larry pretty well. Zbyszko removed a turnbuckle cover and bloodied Mike on the bolt. That set up a PILEDRIVER which sealed the deal.
King Kong Bundy with Bobby Heenan vs. Johnny Valentine: Bundy mauls Valentine in no time. He actually denies a victory after getting a three count to the AVALANCHE! He wants a five count instead. He surprisingly goes to the top and delivers an amazing flying clothsline before hitting another AVALANCHE and getting his five count.
Mad Dog Vachon with Bobby Heenan vs. world Heavyweight Champion Antonino Rocca: Rocca come out with the title belt. He kisses it, then holds it high for the Japanese crowd to see. Afterwards he hands it to the referee. He states that it will be handed back to him when he wins the Tournament, but that he will not carry it again until then.
Vachon fights like a man possessed and just won’t stay down. Several attempts to put him away by Rocca fail, and Vachon ends up bloody and even more savage. But he just can’t get control of the match and finally gives up to a crushing body scissors.

Card 78: May 6th, Tokyo Dome (Tokyo, Japan)
Our second big night in Japan and the Tournament continues. The World Champion Argentina Rocca is still in the game. Tonight 8 more will say goodbye to the running.
George Hackenschmidt vs. Danny Doring: An easy match for The Russian Lion. He started the match by throwing Doring to the corner. Doring rebounded and a double clothesline put both men down. But George got up first and locked on the RUSSIAN BEAR HUG for a 48 second win.
Konnan vs. The Sheik: Sheik scores a disqualification win after Konnan accidently collides with the referee.
Rikidozan vs. Rick Rude with Bobby Heenan: Rikidozan blows past Rude with his THUNDEROUS CHOPS, much to the Japanese crowd’s delight.
Butcher Vachon with Bobby Heenan vs. The Destroyer: A quick match that sees Destroyer win after a sensational suplex.
Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. Don Muraco with Lou Albano: An all out brawl on the floor gets both men counted out.
Cousin Luke vs. Ed Lewis: Lewis proved again that once he locks on the STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK there’s no escape.
Playboy Buddy Rose vs. Masked Superstar with Bobby Heenan: Rose took an incredible beating throughout the match but would not stay down. After bleeding badly and kicking out of everything Superstar had he finally gave up to the COBRA HOLD! Heenan has another man past the first round.
Steve Corino vs. Mil Mascaras: The Japanese crowd is quite pleased to be seeing Mascaras again. But before he is introduced the brash young gaijin Corino comes to the ring complaining that Japan has lost its tradition ways when it comes to professional wrestling. As he starts to bad mouth Cappetta, Mascaras runs down and jump starts the match. Mascaras starts by throwing Corino to the corner, but as he charges in Corino rolls out of the way. He school boys the stunned masked man for a two count. Afterwards he rolls to the floor where he gets something from under the ring. It looks to be brass knuckles or maybe a roll of quarters. Regardless, the referee never sees it as Corino pummels Mascaras into oblivion, leaving him bloody and scoring an easy pin fall. The crowd is not happy and they shower the ring with seat cushions in disgust, but Corino is moving on to the next round.

Card 79: May 10th, Sky Dome (Toronto, Canada)
Welcome from Toronto, everybody. The tournament continues here tonight and we have the United States Heavyweight Champion in action in his first tournament match.
Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan vs. Jimmy Valiant: Valiant proved double tough and with stood an amazing assault by Bockwinkel. He escaped the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK and BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER but stayed down for the pin after a powerbomb.
Diamond Dallas Page vs. Chris Candido with Sunny: Candido steals a win as DDP gets counted out after a brawl on the floor.
Bobo Brazil vs. Red Bastien: After shaking hands, these two went hold for hold in a fast but short match. Brazil got a quick roll up after Bastien missed a charge to the corner. Bastien congratulated Brazil and wished him luck in the tournament.
Bob Orton Sr. with Bobby Heenan vs. Buddy Rogers: The Nature Boy never disappoints. Orton brutalized Rogers but couldn’t even seem to hurt him. It wasn’t long till the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE ended the match.
Frank Gotch vs. B. Brian Blair: Gotch refuses Blair’s offer to shake hands before the bell. Once the bell rings Blair actually dictates the pace of the match with his speed. But nearly his every move is countered. Finally Gotch snags the GOTCH TOEHOLD to put Blair away.
Bobby Eaton with Jim Cornette vs. Don Leo Jonathan: An all out war that even saw the referee go down. Both men were blood and neither could get an advantage. Eaton missed a dive from the top and Jonathan scored the pin.
Animal with Paul Ellering vs. Justin Credible: Credible shocks the world with a DDT in the opening seconds that knocks Animal out cold and moves Justin to the next round.
The Crusher vs. United States Heavyweight Champion Iron Sheik with Nikita Breznifov: There was a lot of buzz on the winless Crusher when he first came to the League. Iron Sheik has turned him back twice. The United States Title is not on the line, but it would mean a lot if “Da Crusher” could shine tonight.
The match is somewhat sloppy, both men seem to start off their game. As it goes on Sheik seems to hit several amateur moves that don’t seem to harm Crusher. Crusher just can’t get control of the match. Finally it spills out on the floor where Crusher is at home. He drives Sheik to the post and then throws him back in the ring. Sheik gets up just in time to take a huge CRUSHER BOLO and Milwaukee’s favorite son is one step closer to the World Title.

Card 80: May 13th, Sky Dome (Toronto, Canada)
A second big night in Toronto. Our Canadian fans will see the World Television Champion in action.
Giant Baba vs. Hawk with Paul Ellering: A good power match. Hawk took several NECKBREAKER DROPS without going down, but was pinned after a boot to the face.
Nikolai Volkoff with Nikita Breznikov vs. Danny Hodge: Hodge took his first loss. He simply couldn’t stop Volkoff’s strength and was pinned after a chokeslam.
Jimmy Snuka vs. Gorgeous George with Cherie Dupree: The Gorgeous One finally had a break out performance. Snuka punished him with everything he had. George rolled out of the way of 2 SUPERFLY LEAPS and Cherie saved him from a third. George took all kinds of punishment and finally surprised Snuka with a choke slam of all things to get the three count.
Killer Kowalski vs. Jim Londos: The female fans clearly want to see the Golden Greek best The Killer. Kowalski again in enraged over being announced as “Killer.” Londos completely controlled the match, and finally scored a submission with a BOSTON CRAB!
The Sandman vs. Missing Link with Bobby Heenan: As the two wild men got going Link was disqualified for a blatant chair shot.
S.D. Jones vs. Dan Severn: No one expected this one. Severn poured on everything he had, but Jones kept coming. Bloody and battered, Jones repeatedly came up with counters and escaped Severn’s best submission holds. At one point he even escaped the WAKIGATAME by reaching the ropes. Severn finally scored a pin after a fireman’s carry slam. Severn was so impressed he shook and raised Special Delivery’s hand. The crowd gave S. D. a standing ovation.
Bruiser Brody vs. Koko B. Ware: Koko should be given credit for surviving as long as he did, but he never got a move off. Brody punished him for several minutes with a brutal onslaught before scoring a pin after his JUMPING KNEE DROP!
World Tag Team Champion Stan Lane with Jim Cornette vs. World Television Champion Greg Valentine with Lou Albano: The World Television Champion completely dominated the World Tag Team Champion. Lane did escape the FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK twice but after being busted open the third was to much for him.

Card 81: May 17th, Philadelphia Spectrum (Philadelphia, PN)
Tonight is the start of the second round of the Tournament! Thank you for joining us in Philly!
Steve Corino vs. Masked Superstar with Bobby Heenan: Corino’s win in the first round, no matter how he achieved it, was nothing short of amazing. Many picked Mascaras to take the whole tournament. Let’s see what he does against another masked man. The match was quite heated. Both men fought a brutal contest. Corino survived a great deal of punishment including both of Superstar’s finishing maneuvers multiple times. Finally the SPINNING NECKBREAKER got Superstar the win.
It is announced that due to the double count out between Jim Duggan and Don Muraco in the first round, Ed Lewis advances to the second round via a bye. However, to keep things fair, Lewis will fight Muraco in a non Tournament match. This match will have no bearing on Tournament matches, but will ensure Lewis will fight the same number of matches as everyone else. It should be noted Lewis asked for this match, The League did not impose it on him.
Ed Lewis vs. Don Muraco with Lou Albano: What an upset! A potential mistake for Lewis, who fought out of honor instead of necessity. Muraco threw him to the corner to start the match and flattened him with a huge clothesline. From there Muraco hit the HAWAIIAN HAMMER and it was all over.
The Destroyer vs. Rikidozan: Our fans in Japan have written in to say they are very happy to see this match on such a big stage. Both men shake hands before the match. Destroyer controlled most of the match and even escaped the HIPLOCK! But he couldn’t keep Rikidozan down, and was pinned after some overhead chops.
The Sheik vs. George Hackenshmidt: This should be a real contrast in styles. The match was a real barn burner with neither man maintaining and advantage and both men fighting to their strengths. Sheik was disqualified for attack Hack while he was tied in the ropes, and subsequently attacking the referee.
Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan vs. Chris Candido with Tammy: Candido might be out of his league with this match, but we’ve seen some upsets in the tournament so far. Candido almost gets the pin off the power slam he opened the match with. From there both men trade somewhat evenly until Bockwinkel puts Candido’s head to a table on the out side. From there Bockwinkel strings together three finishing moves, finally winning with the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK!
Bobo Brazil vs. Buddy Rogers: Rogers took a hell of a beating, but kept coming at Brazil. Repeated COCO BUTTS had no effect, but the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE put Brazil away.
Frank Gotch vs. Don Leo Jonathan: This could be a big challenge for the newly cocky Gotch. Jonathan escaped the GOTCH TOE HOLD early and went on the attack. Gotch used a decidedly different technique by going to the floor and baiting Jonathan into putting him to the steps. Jonathan fell for it and was disqualified. Gotch laughed at his opponent for falling for the ploy.
Justin Credible vs. The Crusher: These two mutually requested a Philadelphia Street Fight tonight, but that was denied in order to keep the tournament fair. Both men agreed they would have to have that match at a later date. Crusher survived two THAT’S INCREDIBLES and several other pin attempts by the faster Justin. Credible controlled the match, but let the pressure get to him and attacked the referee for warning him against attack Crusher in the ropes.

Card 82: May 24th, Boston Gardens (Boston Ma)
Second round action continues here tonight. Folks, next weeks show from MSG will feature the rest of this tournament. The eventual winner will have to win three matches in one night!
World Television Champion Greg Valentine with Lou Albano vs. Bruiser Brody: Valentine systematically cut down Brody with chops and elbows before securing the win via FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK!
Dan Severn vs. The Sandman: Sandman got an undetected SINGAPORE CANE shot in and then got the pin after a HARDCORE DDT!
Jim Londos vs. Gorgeous George with Cherie Dupree: A classic encounter. Both men showed great heart and drive. Two AIRPLANE SPINS put the Gorgeous One down for the count.
Nikolai Volkoff with Nikita Breznikov vs. Giant Baba: The two giants clashed hard. Volkoff may finally be proving what he always claimed since he came to the League. The Russian dominated the favored Japanese Giant and scored a pin after a second BACKBREAKER DROP! This was only Baba’s 4th loss.
Johnny Valiant vs. Sabu: Valiant managed some good offence against the Arabian Madman but soon he was giving to the CAMEL CLUTCH!
Yukon Eric vs. Jim Brunzell: Eric quickly won with the KODIAK KRUNCH!
Cowboy Bob Orton with Bobby Heenan vs. Larry Zybszko: A solid technical match until Zybszko was disqualified for putting Bob to the post.
King Kong Bundy vs. World Heavyweight Champion Antonino Rocca: This match could make Bundy’s career. He handled Johnny Valentine with ease. Can he do the same to The World Champion? The match was just getting going when Rocca hoisted the 446 pound Bundy on his shoulders and made him tap to the ARGENTINA BACKBREAKER!

Card 83: May 31st, Madison Square Garden (New York, NY)
Welcome to Madison Square Garden. Welcome to a huge night of LWF wrestling as we will stay here until the tournament is over. Will we have a new Champion tonight?
But let’s look at the current Champion for a minute. Antonino “Argentina” Rocca, a man of two countries. A native of Italy, he makes his home in Argentina. Yes, he came to the League during the reconstruction after the Union Walk Out. His detractors have called him the Replacement Champion. He beat Buff Bagwell for the title on November 16th of last year right here in The Garden. It was a tournament final to crown the first Champion after the walk out. Since then he lost and regained the Title against Ted DiBiase. He has successfully defended the Title more than any other Champion in our history. And now he has put his title up for grabs in a 64 man Tournament. He made it past the first two rounds with his Title in tact. But tonight he will have to win four matches to be able to call himself World Heavyweight Champion tomorrow morning. Can he do it?
The competition will be fierce. Still alive in the tournament is the newly refocused Frank Gotch, the always solid Ed Lewis, former Champion Nick Bockwinkel, the maniacal Sabu, the incomparable Buddy Rogers, the World Television Champion Greg Valentine, the hired mercenary Bob Orton Jr., The Russian National Champion Nikolai Volkoff, and that’s just to name a few. Let’s go to the ring.
Third Round Matches Masked Superstar with Bobby Heenan vs. Ed Lewis: Superstar blew it. He controlled the match but let it break down into a brawl and was disqualified.
Rikidozan vs. George Hackenschmidt: A hard fought battle between to tough men. Multiple pin attempts were turned back by both men. Rikidozan managed to hit his THUNDEROUS CHOPS to advance in to the quarterfinals.
Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan vs. Buddy Rogers: Possibly the shocker of the tournament. Last year Rogers turned back Bockwinkel in mere seconds. Bockwinkel finally returned the favor and put the Nature Boy down very easily with his BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER!
Frank Gotch vs. The Crusher: The Crusher has been on a roll as of late, but so has Gotch. Should be an interesting match. Gotch proved he’s for real by getting The Crusher to tap out in less than 3 minutes to a figure four leglock.
World Television Champion Greg Valentine with Lou Albano vs. The Sandman: One move! Valentine opened with a running clothsline and it was the only move he needed to put Sandman down for the three.
Jim Londos vs. Nikolai Volkoff with Nikita Breznikov: The big Russian beat down The Golden Greek with his power but was surprised by an AIRPLANE SPIN and was pinned by Londos.
Sabu vs. Yukon Eric: A brutal affair and Sabu made sure it was bloody. Both men had a chance to win through out the match, and Sabu seemed to be in control. But Eric locked on the KODIAK KRUNCH and put the Arabian madman out of the tournament.
Cowboy Bob Orton with Bobby Heenan vs. World Heavyweight Champion Antonino Rocca: This is the match most people waited for tonight. The Champion’s first match of the night. Will he have any more? Let’s give credit where it’s due. Cowboy Bob Orton is an amazing technician, and has a mean streak a mile wide. And he works for Bobby Heenan. One has to wonder if Heenan wants Orton to win tonight, or if he is simply using him to knock down threats to Bockwinkel. Either way, Orton may be more concerned with hurting Rocca than beating him. But he never got the chance. The match went quickly with Rocca never stopping moving. He quickly pinned Orton after some flying dropkicks, and Heenan is livid. The Champion is still alive in the tournament!
Quarter Final Matches Ed Lewis vs. Rikidozan: Lots of reversals in this one. Rikidozan hit the THUNDEROUS CHOPS twice in a row to take the win.
Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan vs. Frank Gotch: Heenan’s Title dreams could end here; this is his last man in the running. The match went back in forth. Lots of reversals and no man being dominant. But “The Worlds Smartest Wrestler” managed to sneak past “The Wrestling Machine” by sneaking in a choke on the ropes to stun him, and then get the three count. Heenan went wild with delight on the floor and Gotch was absolutely livid.
World Television Champion Greg Valentine with Lou Albano vs. Jim Londos (1): The punishing Valentine beat Londos down with chops and forearms before getting the win with his FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK!
Yukon Eric (3) vs. Heavyweight Champion Antonino Rocca: Both men shake hands, but its obvious Eric is drained from his match with Sabu. Seconds after the match started Rocca got into position and lifted the mammoth Eric on his shoulders for a submission win to the ARGENTINIAN BACKBREAKER!
Semi Final Matches Rikidozan vs. Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan: These two have had their problems in the past. Considering what’s at stake expect no pulled punches between these two World Class Athletes. Heenan got to confident. As Bockwinkel started beating down Rikidozan Heenan jawed with the crowd. He didn’t notice Rikidozan sneak in a series of overhead chops and stun Nick with a three count. The Heenan Family is out of the tournament. Bockwinkel is furious, he was so close. But Rikidozan is in the finals.
World Television Champion Greg Valentine with Lou Albano vs. World Heavyweight Champion Antonino Rocca: Champion vs. Champion in the semi-finals. Rocca steamrolled the Television Champion. Albano distracted the referee when he locked on the ARGENTINIAN BACKBREAKER but Rocca then used a victory roll to win the match. Rocca has done it! He’s made it to the finals! Can he go all the way?
Final Round: World Heavyweight Title Match Rikidozan vs. World Heavyweight Champion Antonino Rocca: This is the final match of the evening and of the tournament. Who will win it all? One thing is for sure; as Japan prepares to do battle with Argentina the LWF proves that we truly have a World’s title. Both men shake hands before getting underway. Rocca is a superman! As he was beaten down a bit by Rikidozan he used his speed to stay ahead. Rikidozan escaped the ARGENTINIAN BACKBREAKER 4 times! But he was reeling when Rocca locked it on the fifth time and Rocca remains The World Heavyweight Champion! He did it! 63 other men, 4 matches in one night, there can be no question that he is truly the best in our business today. The question is whose next for the Champion?

Tallison,
What a great tournament you had! Rocca managed to outlast all of the other 63 wrestlers to retain his Championship! I was also interested to see Bockwinkel (who is my current World Champion and is actually set to defend the title against Rocca next week) get to the Semifinals.

Yeah, I had some definate upsets but I didn't alter anything. I really didn't think Rocca would go all the way, but he did. My money was on Bockwinkel after the first round.

Card 84: June 7th, LWF Arena (New York, NY)
Tonight begins a major restructuring for the League. Welcome to the brand new LWF Arena in downtown New York. We are in the shadow of Madison Square Garden for our first night in our new home. We’d like to let the fans know that all of our regular weekly TV events will come from this arena. And although we have dropped the weekly show to 6 matches, we will still be on for the same length of time. The purpose: the League wants to foster competition. Wrestlers will have to keep winning to stay on TV and with less matches per show we expect longer matches from more elite competition.
The League will continue to tour in your area. And one show on the touring schedule each month will be our major show for the month. This show will also be available in various closed circuit, PPV, Cable TV, and home video markets. All mandatory World, United States, and Tag Team Title defenses will be held at those monthly shows. The Television Title will continue to be defended on every TV Event.
On top of a new point system that will be tried on a probationary basis, clear divisions will be made and competitors will have to devote themselves to one division or another. As with the new point system this is provisional and will be revaluated periodically to determine its level of success.
Don Muraco with Lou Albano vs. Danny Doring: Muraco blows past Doring with a HAWAIIAN HAMMER!
Gorgeous George with Cheri Dupree vs. Danny Hodge: Another amazing mat war between the two junior heavyweights. Neither man maintained an advantage, and it was finally a sleeper hold that put George out.
Tag Team Match The Killer Bees vs. The Valiant Brothers with Lou Albano: The Valiants wore down Blair but as Johnny moved in for the kill The Bees put on their masks. We think it was Brunzell that then went to town on Johnny and scored the win after two KILLER DROPKICKS! The Valiants started to argue again after the match and Albano was trying to keep his new team in line.
Frank Gotch vs. Ed Lewis: We expect a great mat war here, as long as Gotch keeps it clean. The match was solid with Gotch maintaining control. After lots of counter holds and mat wrestling the GOTCH TOEHOLD once again ended the match.
World Television Championship Match Iron Mike DiBiase vs. World Television Champion Greg Valentine with Lou Albano: Valentine battered and bruised DiBiase with repeated forarms, piledrivers, and neckbreakers and retained his Television Title. DiBiase’s initial success seems to be waning.
Main Event: Number One Contender’s Match for the World Title George Hackenschmidt vs. Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan: In an astonishing turn of events Bockwinkel missed his opening charge at Hack and was caught in the RUSSIAN BEAR HUG and almost instantly gave up. George Hackenschmidt is the number one contender!

Card 85: June 14th, LWF Arena (New York, NY)
Don Muraco with Lou Albano vs. The Crusher: Muraco dominated the early going. Crusher started coming back on the floor before shoving the referee who was warning against his tactics.
Frank Gotch vs. Cousin Luke: Luke started out brawling but Gotch quickly took him down and had him tapping to the GOTCH TOEHOLD!
George Hackenshmidt vs. Cowboy Bob Orton with Bobby Heenan: Once Hack locked on the RUSSIAN BEAR HUG it was all over.
Tag Team Non-Title Match The Armstrongs vs. The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette: This is the LWF debut of a team we’ve been hearing somewhat about. Brad Armstrong, a youngster from the Mid-Atlantic area and his father, veteran Mid-Atlantic Wrestler Bob Armstong. The League is pleased to announce that several signings have been made for the tag division and expect more in the near future. After seeing his old man get beat down by both Midnighters, Brad finally got tagged in. He traded even with Lane who threw him to the floor. Returning the favor and dragging Lane to the floor for an assault cost Brad the match by DQ. Afterward he apologized to his dad.
Onscreen Vignette A young man stands in a wrestling room as other wrestlers train. “Hello, folks. My name is Curt Hennig. You may know my father, Midwest Legend Larry “The Axe” Hennig. Well I’d like to let you know that we both are coming to the LWF. Now my father is great and he’s sure to make an impact next week when he debuts in the League. But I’m better than great. I’m better than remarkable. I’m… perfect. That’s right, folks, your looking at the perfect wrestler, the perfect athlete. And soon I’ll be in the LWF. World Titles? Tag Titles? US Titles? All will be in my perfect future.”
World Television Title Match Danny Hodge vs. World Television Champion Greg Valentine with Lou Albano: Hodge will be happy to know that win loose or draw tonight he may have some new Junior Heavyweight competition in the near future. A brutal loss for the challenger, Valentine dominated and destroyed Hodge worse than we’ve ever seen anyone do. After much brutality Greg got the pin after a piledriver.
Main Event: Non Title Match Rick Rude with Bobby Heenan vs. World Heavyweight Champion Antonino Rocca: The crowd is excited to se the Champion in action here tonight. Rude could really make a name for himself here if he plays his cards right. Rude completely dominated the Champion, who barely got a move off. The crowd was stunned to see Rocca receive numerous piledrivers and neckbreakers before Rude scored the RUDE AWEKENING and took the pin. This has to put Rude in the title hunt.

Card 86: June 21st, LWF Arena (New York, NY)
The League has decided that 6 matches simply aren’t enough and we are returning to the 8 match format for our shows.
Steve Corino vs. Brad Armstrong: The young Armstrong has vowed to make a name for himself in both the Tag and Singles ranks. The female fans already seem to enjoy his work. Corino ducked to the floor to escape Armstrong’s assault and gave Brad his first win by DQ after throwing him to the rail.
Tag Team Match The Road Warriors with Paul Ellering vs. The Fabulous Kangaroos with Red Berry: Another Tag Team debut tonight. These Aussies are coming to the ring with a large banner proclaiming their name. Let’s see what they can do against the LWF’s most dominant tag team. A well paced match with all four men giving their all. After Heffernan received the DOOMSDAY DEVICE Costello came in for the save. This resulted in an all out brawl between all 4 men and both of their managers until the referee called for a double disqualification.
Frank Gotch vs. Yukon Eric: Eric put up a better fight than most of Gotch’s recent opponents, but the Wrestling Machine from Iowa broke him down and finally made him tap to a rolling kneebar.
Debut Match Larry Hennig vs. Dick Hutton: Hutton took quite a beating in the early going but came back to dominate The Axe on the mat and take the win with his ABDOMINAL STRETCH!
Rick Rude with Bobby Heenan vs. Jim Londos: After Rude’s stunning win against the champion last week, Londos has stepped up to see if Rude got lucky. Londos managed to ride Rude for a while, using some great mat wrestling. A dive at Rude on the floor cost him, though, and Rude took back over. It wasn’t long before Londos got a RUDE AWAKENING and was down for the count.
Vignette A large man stands wearing the colors of The Soviet Union and holding a chain wrapped around his upper body. “In Siberia, the winters are cold. Only tough animal survive. Russian Bear is very tough animal. I am “Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff. I am Soviet Superman. I am fulfillment of promise not kept by Nikolai Volkoff. I come to LWF, I beat Capitalists, and I prove Russia Number One!”
World Television Title Match Don Muraco with Lou Albano vs. World Television Champion Greg Valentine with Lou Albano: That’s right. Due to the new point system both of Albano’s men will have to fight each other tonight for the TV Title. And to keep things fair, Albano has been banned from ringside. These two held nothing back as the fought on the floor, in the ring, and over the fallen referee. Valentine proved the better man and slowly wore Muraco down before pinning him after a running clothesline.
George Hackenshmidt vs. Ted DiBiase with Virgil: The crowd is shocked to see the returning DiBiase is much different than before. Virgil is not with him, as was advertised, and neither are any of his other cronies. No glitz, no money, just a simple looking wrestler with a black glove. Even Hackenschmidt is puzzled as he prepares for the match. While he fights a solid match, he looks like a shadow of his former self. He goes through the motions until Hack puts him away with a RUSSIAN BEAR HUG!
Main Event: Non Title Match The Sandman vs. United States Heavyweight Champion Iron Sheik with Nikita Breznifov: Sheik dominated until it went to the floor. Sandman was disqualified for using his SINGAPORE CANE!

Card 87: June 28th, LWF Arena (New York, NY)
Debut Match Curt Hennig vs. Billy Lyons: Lyons proved quite tough but the debuting young Hennig dominated with technical prowess. It took three attempts, but the HENNIG PLEX finally put Lyons down for the count.
Brad Armstrong vs. King Kong Bundy with Bobby Heenan: This Armstrong kid is for real. Both men bled as they fought back and forth for near 20 minutes. Bundy could not keep this kid down and he kept coming back to rock the big man. Finally, Heenan tried to interfere. Armstrong took both men down and got the pin on Bundy.
World Tag Team Championship Number One Contender’s Match The Killer Bees vs. The Road Warriors with Paul Ellering: These two fan favorite teams are set to vie for the chance to see who will fight for the Tag Team Titles next week. The fans would be happy to see either team beat the Midnight Express. The Road warriors showed the very meaning of cutting the ring in half as they dominated and double teamed Brunzell most of the match and kept Blair at bay. Blair stopped the pin on the first DOOMSDAY DEVICE, but not the second.
Rick Rude with Bobby Heenan vs. Bob Armstrong: The Senior Armstrong’s singles debut match. He proved quite tough as he was no pushover for Rude. The two traded back and forth pretty evenly until Rude scored a pin after a top rope sledgehammer.
World Television Title Match Dick Hutton vs. World Television Champion Greg Valentine with Lou Albano: Hutton put up a great fight. Valentine ended up slugging the referee on the floor and getting disqualified, but saving his title.
United States Championship Number One Contender’s Match Rikidozan vs. Frank Gotch: In a bloody war Rikidozan finally stopped Gotch’s winning streak. The two traded back and forth. Rikidozan managed to escape the GOTCH TOEHOLD and eventually put Frank down with some THUNDEROUS CHOPS!
George Hackenshmidt vs. Justin Credible: This is the Russian Lion’s last warm up before fighting for the World Title. Hack takes control early and dominates Justin. As he locks on the RUSSIAN BEAR HUG Ivan Koloff enters the ring. He attacks Hack with his chain and leaves him lying. Koloff grabs a mic. “Little Russian Lion is nothing compared to Russian Bear. He is not true Soviet like me. He is turncoat. He is weak. Volkoff, you tried stopping the traitor once and failed. I will not fail. For mother Russia, I will stop this phony.”
In the Hotseat with Bill Apter Bill’s guest is Ted DiBiase. DiBiase appears in slacks and a collared shirt, not the usual $10000 suit or tuxedo we are used to. Bill asks the question every fan wants to know, “what has happened to The Million Dollar Man?” DiBiase says that he lost everything in Japan. Bad matches, bad business deals, and bad gambling bets have robbed him of his financial empire. The Million Dollar Corporation has dissolved, and he has been left with nothing. He says the only reason that he even came back to the LWF was that he needed the money. The fans seem to find it amusing that the dastardly villain has been brought so low.
Then Iron Mike DiBiase comes out on the set. He tells Ted that he and his mother didn’t raise him to be a cheat and a backstabber. They raised him to be hard working. He saw Ted’s first Million ruined him, and he has been more devil than man since then. He tells Ted that now is his chance to reclaim himself. To work hard and to win big on his own merit. With skill and determination instead of deceit and guile. And to start he needs to slay a part of “The Million Dollar Man.” Mike says he went to the Championship Committee and had a match made. Ted DiBiase vs. Virgil. Mike says once Ted beats Virgil, he can move on, and start to be a great scientific wrestler. The fans seem sympathetic to Mike wanting to reclaim his son, but untrusting of Ted. But still they applaud when Ted shakes his father’s hand and says he will do it.
Main Event: Non Title Match Diamond Dallas Page vs. States Heavyweight Champion Iron Sheik with Nikita Breznifov: Page has said the DIAMOND CUTTER can come from anywhere, and he proved it by dropping Sheik in a stunning upset.

Card 88: June 30th, Boston Garden (Boston, MA)
Curt Hennig vs. S.D. Jones: Hennig completely dominated Jones and beat him with a classic sleeper. Hennig grabbed the mic and told the wrestling world that he is taking bids for a manager.
Brad Armstrong vs. Steve Corino: After being dominated Corino grabbed a chair and wrapped around Brad’s head. This is the second time Corino has gotten himself disqualified against Brad Armstrong.
World Television Title Match Diamond Dallas Page vs. World Television Champion Greg Valentine with Lou Albano: Page scored a big win last Wednesday, and the Championship Committee has rewarded him with this Title Shot. Neither man ever really got going, and Valentine almost stumbled to the win when he saw an opening for the FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK!
Tag Team Match The Fabulous Kangaroos with Red Berry vs. The Killer Bees: The Kangaroos dominated The Bees and Roy pinned Jim after a double team move they call the BOOMERANG!
Iron Mike DiBiase vs. Rick Rude with Bobby Heenan: Rude didn’t seem to care for how Cappetta introduced him, and he started to berate the ring announcer. DiBiase ran down and jumpstarted the match. The two had a match that more resembled a brawl. Rude maintained control, but a bloody DiBiase kept coming. After several infractions of the rules, Rude was finally disqualified for attacking the referee when he didn’t like what he had to say.
Debut Match Ivan Koloff vs. Danny Doring: Koloff made his unofficial debut by attacking Hackenschmidt last Wednesday, but this will be his first match. Doring has been making a name for himself by being the first victim of these big monsters who have been coming into the League. Doring actually managed to keep ahead of Koloff. A few minutes into the match Koloff got sick of Danny slipping away from him and blasted him with the chain he brought to the ring. Danny walked away with the victory, but Koloff showed himself as a man to be feared.
Ted DiBiase vs. Virgil: The crowd is buzzing for this match. Many seem to be wondering if DiBiase has really turned over a new leaf. DiBiase is a former 2 time World Heavyweight Champion. Virgil doesn’t have the best win loss record. He’s 3 and 17. But to many he represents DiBiase’s darker side. Mike DiBiase thinks that it will do Ted good to beat this man. Virgil dominated the early going, and actually seemed to know the former Champion better than he knew himself. But DiBiase kept fighting back. A 2 count after a power slam hurt Virgil, and then Ted surprised everyone by taking the win with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK! Mike came out and congratulated his son. Ted seems to be for real, but where does he go from here.
United States Heavyweight Title Match Rikidozan vs. United States Heavyweight Champion Iron Sheik with Nikita Breznikov: Before Sheik and Breznikov knew what was happening Rikidozan had steamrolled over Sheik and pinned him after a pair of HIPLOCKS to become the new United States Champion.
World Tag Team Championship Match The Road Warriors with Paul Ellering vs. World Tag Team Champions The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette: Tag Team Wrestling is defined by cutting off the ring and double teaming one opponent. The Midnight Express proved why they are Champions. The Road Warriors are no slouches, but The Midnights singled out Animal and beat him to a bloody pulp. Hawk tried making saves. Ellering tried making saves. But Animal finally went down to the ROCKET LAUNCHER!
Main Event: World Heavyweight Title Match George Hackenschmidt vs. World Heavyweight Champion Antonino Rocca: This is the big one for the night. The fans can’t wait. Two beloved heroes of wrestling will do battle for the World Heavyweight Title. Let’s go to the ring announcer, Gary Michael Cappetta.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for one fall with a one hour time limit, and is for the Heavyweight Championship of the World! Introducing first, the challenger. From Dorpat, Estonia, he weighed in tonight at 230 pounds. He is a two time United States Heavyweight Champion. His record stands at 24 wins, 7 losses, and 1 draw. He is the Russian Lion, George Hackenschmidt!”
The crowd gives Hack his due, and the big man bows to his fans.
“And his opponent hails from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He weighed in at 225 pounds. His record is 22 wins and 6 losses. He is a two time, current, reigning, and defending Heavyweight Champion of the World. Ladies and gentlemen, Antonino “Argentina” Rocca!”
Both men come out and look at the title that referee Nick Patrick holds up for all to see. The two warriors listen to Patrick’s instructions and then shake hands. Both men look intense. This is truly a World Championship as the former Soviet from Estonia and the Italian who was raised in Argentina will do battle here in Boston. Both men tie up and after neither gains advantage they break and circle the ring. Argentina is bouncing around, constantly moving. Hackenschmidt is keeping his vertical base. They tie up again and Rocca takes control. Rocca takes Hack down and locks on a handstand grapevine. He applies some pressure before Hack gets free. Both men are up and Rocca fires off an open hand chop. Hack stumbles back and Rocca nails a couple of flying dropkicks. Rocca goes for the chop again and Hack blocks it and returns fire with a punch. He throws Rocca to the ropes and drops him with a shoulder block. Hack picks Rocca up and drops him with a backbreaker and then goes strait into a body scissors. He works on Rocca and keeps him grounded with his powerful legs. He releases and goes for a neck crank and Rocca slips away. Hackenschmidt blocks another chop as Rocca tries coming back. Hack delivers another shoulder block after again sending Rocca to the ropes. Another backbreaker puts Rocca down. Hack goes for a hammerlock but Rocca counters into one of his own. He gets up and into a victory roll but Hack’s out before 1. Rocca throws George to the ropes and ducks down for a back body drop, but Hack answered him with a boot to the head. Rocca stagers and hack hits him with a knee smash. Hack goes for another body scissors but Rocca slips away and applies his own crushing body scissors. He does some damage and then turns Hack loose, but immediately lifts him up for the ARGENTINAN BACKBREAKER! Hack’s up in the hold. Rocca’s tearing for all he’s worth, but Hack finally gets free. Rocca, like a cat, runs up the ropes for a dive. Hack gets back up and slams The Champion off the ropes. Rocca’s down and trapped in a keylock armbar. From there he moved to another body scissors. As they come back up Hack again goes for the hammerlock and Rocca slips loose. He stammers Hack with more flying dropkicks. Hack’s wobbly, Rocca lifts him up again in the ARGENTINAN BACKBREAKER and this time Hackenschmidt has to give up. Rocca is still the champion. It seems that nothing can stop this Champion.

Card 89: July 5th, LWF Arena (New York, NY)
Curt Hennig vs. Danny Doring: Another clean sweep for Hennig with his HENNIG PLEX!

Danny Hodge vs. Justin Credible: After a few quick exchanges Hodge put Justin out with a sleeper hold.
Bob Armstrong vs. World Tag Team Champion Bobby Eaton with Jim Cornette: Bullet Bob got a surprise pin after a knee lift. Looks like the World Tag Team Champions should stick to tag team competition.
Tag Team Match The Fabulous Kangaroos with Red Berry vs. The Valiant Brothers with Lou Albano: It’s heel vs. heel as The Valiants humbled the new comers by isolating Costello and taking him out. Jimmy scored the pin after a SUPER ALBOW. Does Albano have them back on track?
Ted DiBiase vs. Youssof Ishmaelo: The first time we’ve seen The Terrible Turk in a while. He manhandled DiBiase half the match, while Ted dominated with technical prowess the other half. A bloody Turk locked on his controversial hold that fans simply Call the STRANGLEHOLD! Referee Mark Curtis confirmed that it was indeed a choke hold and after Turk failed to break he was disqualified.
Backstage Interview Bobby Heenan is back stage with Bill Apter. Heenan says that Rocca and Hackenschmidt fought a war for the World Title, and those who saw it should consider themselves lucky. He says that no one has been able to stop Rocca. No one but “Ravishing” Rick Rude. Heenan points out that Rude is the only man to pin Rocca since he lost his first title to DiBiase back in December. He says Rude should be number one contender by virtue of that win. Apter points out Rude lost his last match and Heenan gets mad. He says that doesn’t matter, he still pinned Rocca. After some time arguing Hackenschmidt walks out. He says he talked to the Championship committee and they have made a match for next week. Rick Rude vs. George Hackenschmidt: winner becomes the number one contender to the World Title.
World Television Title Match Mike DiBiase vs. World Television Champion Greg Valentine with Lou Albano: DiBiase hung on for a long time but Greg’s brutal assault finally caught up to him and he was pinned after a piledriver.
Main Event: Non-Title Match Frank Gotch vs. United States Heavyweight Champion Rikidozan: Rikidozan again humbled Gotch and pinned him after his THUNDEROUS CHOPS! It seems Rikidozan has The Wrestling Machine’s number.

Card 90: July 12th, LWF Arena (New York, NY)
Curt Hennig vs. Dick Hutton: Hennig dominated again and scored the pin after a crossbody from the top.
Brad Armstrong vs. B. Brian Blair: Both men shake before the bell. Then Armstrong swept to a no competition win with his RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP!
Bob Armstrong vs. Jim Brunzell: These two also shook hands before starting, but got pretty down and dirty in a long match. A bloody Bullet Bob hit a knee lift and finally scored the pin in this 4 star match between two heroes.
Non-Title Tag Team Match The Valiant Brothers with Lou Albano vs. The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette: The committee has stated that if the Valiants pull out a win they will be the number one contenders for the tag straps. The two villain teams went to war and traded finishes. Stan Lane got pretty battered. Jimmy dove at him on the floor and kept him down and The Valiants picked up the win, all be it by count out.
Ted DiBiase vs. Al Costello with Red Berry: What has to be considered an upset, Costello had a knock down drag out with DiBiase. DiBiase maintained control and had it won with the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK but Berry distracted the referee. Costello came back with the MARBLE BOR LEGLOCK and took the match to everyone’s surprise.
Number One Contender’s Match for the World Title George Hackenschmidt vs. Rick Rude with Bobby Heenan: A nice even match between two technical strong men. Hack twice survived the RUDE AWAKENING and got a submission to the RUSSIAN BEAR HUG! Maybe Rude’s win over Rocca was just a lucky fluke.
World Television Title Match Danny Hodge vs. World Television Champion Greg Valentine with Lou Albano: The ever dominant Valentine put down the junior heavyweight with the FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK!
Main Event: Non-Title Match Ron Heffernan with Red Berry vs. World Heavyweight Champion Antonino Rocca: Heffernan proved tough and did some damage, but Rocca scored another win with his ARGENTINIAN BACKBREAKER!
