Card 60: January 4th, Freedom Hall (Louisville, KY)
Mike DiBiase vs. Brutus Beefcake: A decent opener where both undercarders bled. DiBiase got the win with a TOP ROPE KNEE DROP! Afterwards he said he was happy his son lost his belt and got his comeuppance.
Animal vs. Ox Baker: Baker completely dominated the Road Warrior and got the win with his HEART PUNCH!
Koko B. Ware vs. Bobby Eaton Three ALABAMA JAMS and Koko was done.
Rikidozan vs. Dick Hutton: Rikidozan’s hardest match to date. Hutton managed to trade even with him and slowly take the lead. After an atomic drop Rikidozan was pinned for the first time.
George Hackenschmidt vs. Antonio Inoki: Lots of counter holds. Both men gave a lot. Hack got the win with his RUSSIAN BEAR HUG!
United States Heavyweight Title Match, Texas Death Match Jim Londos vs. Dan Severn: The Championship Committee has decided this match will be for the reinstated vacant United States Title. It has been made a Texas Death Match because there must be a winner. Londos showed a bit more offence this time out, but Severn still dominated him with holds and throws. After several submission and pinfall situations Seven trapped Londos in a heel hook and got him to tap. Dan Severn is the new United States Heavyweight Champion.
Buddy Rogers vs. Ed Lewis: Rogers hit a few moves and then went right for the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE and had The Strangler tapping.
Main Event: Number One Contender’s Match Mil Mascaras vs. Ted DiBiase with Virgil: Virgil’s distractions only went so far as both men traded evenly. But Mascaras his both his finishers several times and finally a FLYING BODYPRESS got him a shot at the World Heavyweight Title!

Card 61: January 11th, Mid South Coliseum (Memphis, TN)
Mike DiBiase vs. Virgil: Virgil was disqualified for hitting Iron Mike with a chair.
Backstage Segment Ted DiBiase offered a large amount for Buff Bagwell to join his new Million Dollar Corporation. Bagwell happily accepted.
Dick Hutton vs. Rikidozan: Another hard fought match between these two. Neither man had a clear advantage, both men dominating stretches of the match. Rikidozan came off the ropes with a cross body to surprise Hutton with a quick pin.
Chris Candido with Tammy vs. Billy Lyons: Lyons made quick work of Candido with his SLEEPER HOLD!
In Ring Interview Mean Gene Okerlund is in the ring with new United States Heavyweight Champion Dan “The Beast” Severn. “Well, Mr. Severn, you seem to be on a tear here in the LWF. How does it feel to be the U.S. Champion?”
“Not bad at all, Gene. I was happy to join this company during its low point to help rebuild things. Now that we’re back on our feet I feel proud that I could win a title against stiff competition.”
“You’ve got a mandatory title defense the first week of February. Any thoughts on who you’d like to face?”
“I’ll face anyone the league puts in front of me at this point. And I’ll do it before my mandatory defense if they let me. I’ll be happy to defend this belt every week. I don’t really have a preference. I’ll tell you who looks good is Iron Mike DiBiase. Hard to believe he’s a DiBiase. Man’s got a hell of a work ethic. I know he’s not been here that long, but I’d be happy to give him a shot at this title. But like I said, anyone the League puts in front of me. Londos wants another shot, he can have it. Valentine, Snuka, doesn’t matter to me.”
“There you have it folks, your new United States Champion and he’s a fighting one.”
Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. Buff Bagwell: Duggan started to get his revenge by using two FLYING SPEARS to put down Bagwell.
Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan vs. George Hackenschmidt: A hard fought, mostly clean, match. Hack gave up to the BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER!
Jim Londos vs. Greg Valentine: Valentine used his FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK to get a quick upset over Londos.
Ted DiBiase with Virgil vs. Antonio Inoki: Inoki wore down DiBiase and locked him in the OCTOPUS HOLD for the win.
Mil Mascaras vs. Iron Sheik: Mascaras mostly dominated and got the win with a CROSSBODY ATTACK!

S.D. Jones vs. Justin Credible: After a great back and forth match Justin was disqualified for using his Singapore Cane.
Rikidozan vs. The Missing Link with Bobby Heenan: Rikidozan blew past The Link and got a quick win with his THUNDEROUS CHOPS after only a few seconds.
Mike DiBiase vs. Nikolai Volkoff: A surprise to all. DiBiase came in undefeated and Volkoff doesn’t have a shining record. DiBiase fought hard and scored a few near falls but Volkoff’s power was too much for him and he pinned DiBiase after a double stomp. Ted DiBiase was seen at the entry way laughing with Virgil.
Ed Lewis vs. Cowboy Bob Orton with Bobby Heenan: Lewis never got a move off as Orton sweeped with his Superplex.
Jimmy Snuka vs. Greg Valentine: Valentine pinned the returning Snuka after a falling elbow hammer.
Antonio Inoki vs. Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan: A top rope kneedrop put Bockwinkel down right out of the gate.

Card 63: January 25th, Richmond Coliseum (Richmond, VI)
Ox Baker is standing in the ring with Virgil. We found out earlier today that Baker is the latest wrestler to join Ted DiBiase’s growing Million Dollar Corporation. We are waiting to see who his opponent is. The fans are stunned to see it’s the returning King Kong Bundy. This should be an interesting clash between villainous giants.
Ox Baker with Virgil vs. King Kong Bundy with Bobby Heenan: Just as things were getting going Bundy got the pin off a backbreaker.
The Sandman vs. Masked Superstar: Sandman got a quick win with a SINGAPORE CANE shot!
Nikolai Volkoff vs. The Destroyer: Volkoff punished Destroyer with his power but could not escape the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK!
Singapore Cane Match S.D. Jones vs. Justin Credible: This match was supposed to settle the score from last week’s disqualification. Justin immediately showed that he was the better cane swinger and nailed Jones with the cane coming off the top. Afterwards Justin went juts. He knocked out the referee with the cane and then continued to beat down on Special Delivery. As Jones was left bloody Justin finished it off with a flying elbow from the top. S.D. Jones is hurt for 5cards.
Cowboy Bob Orton with Bobby Heenan vs. Rikidozan: Cowboy Bob was on a role. The roughneck technical wrestler seemed to have the answer to all of Rikidozan’s offence. He slowly wore him down and then got the win with a piledriver.
Number One Contender’s Match for the United States Heavyweight Title Greg Valentine with Captain Lou Albano vs. George Hackenschmidt: Captain Lou makes his return to the LWF to stand beside the recently hot Greg Valentine. Valentine has been on fire as of late. Albano was hoping to take him to the top, but a missed deathjump and a quick pin and Hackenschmidt is quickly the new number one contender for the US Title.
Tag Team Match Hacksaw Jim Duggan & Antonio Inoki vs. Buff Bagwell & Ted DiBiase with Virgil: Duggan and Bagwell brawled a bit before tagging in their partners. DiBiase and Inoki immediately started trading moves until Inoki was in the MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER and surprisingly tapped out quickly. DiBiase’s cooperation is starting to come together strong.
Main Event: World Heavyweight Title Match Mil Mascaras vs. World Heavyweight Champion Antonino Rocca: “The following contest is scheduled for one fall with TV time remaining. It is for the Heavyweight Championship of the World. Introducing first: the challenger. He weighs in at 245 pounds. He is from San Luis Potosi, Mexico. His record is 23 wins and 10 losses. He is the number one contender, The Man of a Thousand Masks: Mil Mascaras!”
“And his opponent, weighed in at 225 pounds and hails from Buenos Aires, Argentina. His record is 13-3 and he is a Two Time and current Heavyweight Champion of the World: Antonino “Argentina” Rocca!”
Both men shake hands as the referee gives instructions, and we are underway. Rocca takes control off the tie up. He tries for a kick of some sort but Mascaras blocks it. Leg trip by Mascaras. And now the masked man throws Rocca to the ropes and knocks him down with a shoulder block. And Mascaras locks on an Indian Deathlock. He’s trying to take Rocca’s legs away from him. He holds it for sometime and Rocca finally flips over and reverses the hold. They both get up and Mascaras catches a series of flying dropkicks. ARGENTINA BACKBREAKER! Rocca applies his finisher but Mascaras manages to escape. But he’s down long enough for Rocca to come off the top with a knee drop. He follows with a body press. And an ankle scissors puts Mascaras on the mat again. He gets up into more dropkicks, Rocca is in control. He rocks Mascaras with a chop, then drops him with a rolling single leg takedown. Mascaras is up into another chop, and again goes down to the rolling single leg takedown. Rocca applies a victory roll! 1… Mascaras kicks out. A bow and arrow now from Rocca and Mascaras just barely makes it to the ropes. Mascaras is reeling. ARGENTINA BACKBREAKER! The Champion has him locked in good. He’s holding him tight. And Mascaras submits! Mascaras submits! Rocca has retained the Title. The crowd is cheering wildly. I’ve never seen Mascaras dominated that way. But he’s a good sport; he shakes Rocca’s hand and then raises it. That’s all for us, folks. We’ll see you next week.

Card 64: February 1st, UIC Pavilion (Chicago, IL)
“Welcome to a great night of professional wrestling. You asked for it, you got it. Fans everywhere have been calling and writing, asking for the return of both the World Television and World Tag Team Titles. Well, here we go folks. Tonight we have an 8 man tournament for the new World Television Title. Next week we have a 4 team tournament for the tag belts. And that’s not all. Before the final round of the tournament tonight we have “The Russian Lion” George Hackenschmidt vs. Dan “The Beast” Severn for the United States Heavyweight Championship. Welcome to LWF Wrestling!”
World Television Title Tournament Opening Round Matches Jim Londos vs. Virgil: In a shocking turn of events Sherri Martel came to the ring and attacked Londos, allowing Virgil to get the advantage. Try as he might Virgil just couldn’t seal the deal, and a battered Jim Londos came back to win with his BOSTON CRAB!
Ed Lewis vs. The Missing Link with Bobby Heenan: Heenan managed to break the STRANGLER’S HEADLOCK once by attacking Lewis from behind. The second time he distracted the ref to buy Link some time but Lewis wouldn’t let go until Link was giving up.
Konnan vs. Iron Sheik: A hotly contested back and forth match. Both men escaped the other’s finisher one but Konnan couldn’t get out of the CAMEL CLUTCH a second time.
Chris Candido with Tammy vs. S.D. Jones: Jones demanded to keep his spot in the tournament despite his injuries. Candido fought a clean match and simply out wrestled the hurt Jones. The fans gave Special Delivery a rousing round of applause for his efforts.
Semifinal Matches Jim Londos vs. Ed Lewis (1): Londos blew past his rival with a BOSTON CRAB! Is Lewis in over his head? He’s really been struggling lately.
Iron Sheik vs. Chris Candido with Tammy: It started in the ring as a mat war and it ended in a wild brawl on the floor. Both men were counted out on the floor, despite Tammy flipping her skirt up at the referee a few times to keep Candido off his radar. But what happens now? Where does this leave the tournament? The referee is conferring with ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta and the time keeper. Someone’s coming from the back. It’s one of our stage hands, but he has a note in his hand. Let’s go to the ring for the official word.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the referee has counted both men out of the ring at 5:42. This match is a draw.” Tammy is throwing a fit like a 12 year old and both competitors seem angry by Cappetta’s words. “However, I have here an order from the Championship Committee and the Illinois State Athletic Commission. Both men are to re-enter the ring for an immediate rematch under Texas Deathmatch Rules: No disqualification and no count out.”
Semifinal Rematch, Texas Deathmatch Rules Iron Sheik vs. Chris Candido (1) with Tammy: Candido jumped the Sheik to get going but they were quickly trading suplexes and holds evenly. Within minutes Sheik had Candido in the CAMEL CLUTCH! Tammy jumped up on the apron, turned around, bent over, and flipped up her skirt. As she waved her rear to get Sheik’s attention the Iranian Wrestling Machine simply smiled at her and pulled back harder until Candido was screaming bloody murder and finally gave up. Sheik celebrated among the chorus of boos. Candido went to Tammy for consoling but she seemed preoccupied with why her charms were not working.
United States Heavyweight Title Match George Hackenschmidt vs. United States Heavyweight Champion Dan Severn: A decent mat affair. Hackenschmidt dominated with his power, got a few quick covers out of suplexes, and then put “The Beast” away with a RUSSIAN BEAR HUG! Your winner and now a two time United States Heavyweight Champion, George Hackenschmidt.
Backstage Interview “Mean Gene Okerlund here with Chris Candido. That was an interesting call that was made out there. How do you feel about it?”
“Well, Gene I…”
“Forget that, Gene,” Tammy bluntly interrupts. “Did you see me waving my butt out there? This butt has won me awards. What’s Sheik’s problem, those Arabs robots or something? I mean look at this, Gene.” Tammy proceeds to give Mean Gene an eyeful.
“Miss Sytch, please! Show some professionalism. Sorry about that folks. Back to you, Joey.”
Joey Styles is laughing at ringside. “I never envied a short bald man so much. Folks, we do have some wrestling left for you tonight. Let’s go back to ringside. Arabian robots?”
Final Round Match for the World Television Title, Texas Deathmatch Rules Jim Londos vs. Iron Sheik: Londos comes to the ring first to thunderous chants of “USA! USA!” I guess this capacity crowd doesn’t realize he’s from Greece. Either that or they just really hate the Sheik. Oh my God! Iron Sheik just ran down and slammed Londos head first into the ring post. He’s tossing him into the ring and moving in for the kill. Piledriver! And now Sheik’s choking him on the ropes. The referee finally calls for the bell to start things off. Sidewinder suplex by the Sheik and Londos rolls out of the ring to get his bearings. But Sheik’s right on him. He throws Londos into the steps and then drags him back into the ring. Power slam by the Sheik. And now he tosses Londos to the floor. Again he follows him out, and now he’s trying to put his head into the steps. Londos blocks it. He rams the Sheik’s head into the steps this time and the crowd loves it. Londos drags Iron Sheik into the ring this time. He throws him to the ropes but the Sheik rebounds with a shoulder ram. He swings for Jim’s throat but Londos blocks it. Hip roll by Londos. Sheik’s thrown to the ropes and catches a wicked clothesline. Londos executes a headlock throw and the Sheik is reeling. Crotch lift and slam by Londos, he’s going back to his ground game against the former Olympian. A short arm scissor has the Sheik fighting to get to the ropes, he just makes it. Sheik stumbles to his feet and Londos gets him up on his shoulders. Could it be? Yes! AIRPLANE SPIN! He’s wearing Iron Sheik out. He drops him down, a cover, the leg’s hooked: 1… 2… 3! Londos wins. We have a new World Television Champion. We crowned a new United States Heavyweight Champion. What a night folks!

Card 65: February 8th, Rosemont Horizon (Rosemont, IL)
First Round Match, World Heavyweight Tag Team Title Tournament The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette vs. The Killer Bees: Blair could not survive a VEG-O-MATIC and the Midnights advance.
Killer Kowalski vs. Dick Hutton: Hard to believe this is only Kowalski’s second match. He joined the league right before the walk out, and has finally been called up to the main roster. He should be a welcome addition to the League. Hutton used a great array of throws and holds to keep the big man down, but Kowalski kept coming back. He used a big backbreaker to put Hutton down.
First Round Match, World Heavyweight Tag Team Title Tournament The Road Warriors with Paul Ellering vs. The Vachon Brothers: The Vachons were out brawled, out muscled, and generally out classed. Both Vachon’s took a DOOMSDAY DEVICE and were saved by their brother, but the Mad Dog wasn’t there when the Butcher took a second DOOMSDAY DEVICE and was pinned by Animal.
Chris Candido with Tammy vs. Konnan: A hotly contested back and forth match up with both men giving their all. The chain wrestled on the mat with amazing technical ability. But Konnan got in a few near falls that set up the TEQUILA SUNRISE! This time Tammy attempted to use her charms on the referee and did a little dance on the apron. The referee saw her, he even smiled, and he looked back just in time to see Candido tap out. Tammy was furious that she failed again, and Candido just lay in the ring stunned.
The Sandman vs. The Missing Link with Bobby Heenan: A surprisingly clean contest. Link pinned The Sandman after two strait BACK FLYING HEADBUTTS!
Rikidozan vs. Greg Valentine with Captain Lou Albano: Valentine was looking to redeem himself for his quick loss to Hackenschmidt. He did well by trading evenly with the highly successful Rikidozan. Albano distracted the sumo so that he couldn’t take advantage of the THUNDEROUS CHOPS. But Rikidozan got back on target and used his overhead chops to put Valentine down for the three.
World Television Title Match Iron Sheik vs. World Television Champion Jim Londos: Iron Sheik was dominating the Golden Greek and had the match in the bag. He started to climb the ropes and the referee warned him against it. Call it foolishness or just the heat of battle but Sheik slapped the referee for admonishing him and was disqualified. Londos luckily hangs on to his title.
Main Event: Final Round Match, World Heavyweight Tag Team Title Tournament The Road Warriors with Paul Ellering vs. The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette: Everyone hoped it would come down to these two teams. At the start of the match Cornette continuously distracted and tried to trip up Animal. After a Flapjack the hurting Animal managed a defensive tag to Hawk. Hawk came in against Eaton and thought he had things under control. Ellering and Animal were jaw jacking with Cornette. Eaton shocked everyone by hitting a stinging right hand and putting Hawk down for the three count. The Midnight Express are the new Tag Team Champions of the World!

Card 66: February 15th, Five Seasons Center (Cedar Rapids, IO)
Killer Kowalski vs. Konnan: Kowalski started the night by threatening Cappetta. He demands to be called Wladek Kowalski instead of “Killer.” As he is yelling at poor Gary, Konnan rushes the ring and hits a summersault lariat to start the match. After brawling with Kowlaski a bit he throws him to the floor, follows him out and puts his head into the steps. The referee disqualifies Konnan before Kowlaski can even react.
The Missing Link with Bobby Heenan vs. Ed Lewis: Lewis had such a grip on Link’s head he was turning from green to red. Link wasn’t giving up though, and Bobby was doing everything he could to distract the referee or Lewis or anybody. Finally he came in the ring. Lewis dropped the hold, threw Bobby from the ring, and covered the gasping Link for the 3.
Backstage Segment: Virgil, Sherri, Baker, Bagwell, and “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase are assembled in a locker room. DiBiase says he’s happy that his Million Dollar Corporation is coming together nicely. He tells Baker to make an example of his step-father. He says tonight they will also put Duggan down for good and soon DiBiase will be World Champion again.
Iron Mike DiBiase vs. Ox Baker with Virgil and Sherri Martel: How can Iron Mike expect to compete with two huge distractions at ringside? He just put it out of his mind, stayed on the attack, and Baker was giving up to a sleeper hold before he could get a move off.
Rikidozan vs. Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan: Rikidozan started strong but the duo of Heenan and Bockwinkel are hard to get past. When Nick was in trouble the referee was looking at “The Brain.” Then Bockwinkel started taking Rikidozan apart. In the ring with holds, and on the floor with whatever he could get his hands on. The referee finally got in Bockwinkel’s face after another trip to the floor. Nick lost his cool and shoved the referee and earned a DQ. Nick didn’t care. He gave Rikidozan two back breakers on the floor and left him for the stretchers. Rikidozan is hurt for 6 cards.
Tag Team Match The Killer Bees vs. The Valiant Brothers: The Bees never got going as both Valiants worked them both over. The TOP ROPE ELBOW put Brunzell down for the 3.
World Television Title Last Man Standing Match Iron Sheik vs. World Television Champion Jim Londos: Londos insisted this rematch. He said that he believes Sheik would have beaten him if not for the DQ. He wants to defend his title with a clear winner. The match was an all out blood bath with both men trading pretty evenly. The young ladies were behind “The Golden Greek,” and the young children hissed at Iron Sheik. But for every bit of damage Londos inflicted on Sheik, the Sheik would retaliate with a kick from his loaded boot. Finally a bloodied Londos passed out in the CAMEL CLUTCH and was left on the mat till the referee counted 10. Iron Sheik is the new World Television Champion.
Ted DiBiase with Virgil and Sherri Martel vs. Hacksaw Jim Duggan: The referee made DiBiase send one of his representatives to the back. Sherri waved to the crowd as she left; Virgil was the preferred muscle for this match. Not much was needed, within a few moves Duggan was out to the MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER!
Main Event: United States Heavyweight Championship Match Dan Severn vs. United States Heavyweight Champion George Hackenschmidt: A decent rematch. Both men showed their strengths but Hackenschmidt had Severn’s number. He wore him down and then got the win with his RUSSIAN BEAR HUG!

Killer Kowalski vs. Bobo Brazil: The fans were happy to see Bobo Brazil make his return. The two giants waged a bloody war where both men tore into the other and survived the other’s finisher. Finally Brazil got the pin after a Bobo body slam.
Iron Mike DiBiase vs. Masked Superstar: DiBiase needed less than a minute to beat Superstar down and pin him after a TOP ROPE KNEE DROP!
Ed Lewis vs. Cowboy Bob Orton with Bobby Heenan: An even scientific contest. Orton took the win after a second SUPERPLEX!
Tag Team Match The Valiant Brothers vs. Red Bastion & Billy Lyons: A brawl on the floor between Jimmy and Red got Red counted out.

World Television Title Match Dick Hutton vs. World Television Champion Iron Sheik: Sheik was quickly disqualified but retained his title.

February 23rd: Press Release
There have been several happenings since last night’s Title Match. The Championship Committee announced this morning that Ted DiBiase would not receive an automatic rematch for the World Heavyweight Title, despite winning by count out over the current Champion, Antonino Rocca. The committee felt that with DiBiase’s history of outside interference and cheating that Rocca may have been justified in saving his title by count out. Therefore, DiBiase wants a rematch he will have to earn it.

February 25th: Press Release
The League made it public this week that Ted DiBiase and his Million Dollar Corporation have taken an extended sabbatical from LWF competition. DiBiase was said to be furious at being denied a rematch after he beat the World Heavyweight Champion by count out. It is not known where all members of the stable are headed, but it is known DiBiase himself will be wrestling in Japan as early as next week and that Buff Bagwell has planned a tour of Mexico and Latin America, where he will fight at least one match in historic Arena Mexico.
The League feels that this is as good a time as any to announce several other stars are also taking time off to compete in foreign tours, compete in The League’s developmental territory, and, in the case of Konnan, to record his newest album and film a small role in a Mexican made horror movie.
The Championship Committee has guaranteed a fully stocked roster, however, as we head into March. Fans can look forward to seeing the return of such stars as The Sheik, Yukon Eric, Gorgeous George, and Bruiser Brody among others. And to kick off March, next weeks show will feature a 20 man Battle Royal to determine the Number One Contender to the World Heavyweight Title!

Card 69: March 8th, Kiel Center (Saint Louis, MO)
Debut Match Youssuf Ishmaelo vs. Billy “Red” Lyons: Not much is known about this Turkish Champion accept that he has been a sensation in Europe. He wants to make his mark in America, and the LWF was the perfect place for him to start. Before Gary Michael Cappetta can finish the introductions “The Terrible Turk” jumps Lyons from behind. Ishmaelo quickly bloodies and batters Lyons with a series of less than legal moves. Lyons finally mounts a comeback by both using speed and resorting to a few dirty tactics. Amazingly he fights back and gets the win by FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK! Lyons quickly gets out of the ring and the enraged Turk knocks out the referee in his disgust.
Backstage Bobby Heenan is addressing The Heenan Family after last weeks Battle Royal. Bockwinkel and Orton both look irate, but are silent. The Masked Superstar sits alone in the far corner. Heenan says everyone had a job to do. He wants to know why Superstar went against that. Superstar said the officials were threatening possible suspension if the match did not continue. He’s just now back in the League and didn’t want to blow it. He also says that everyone in this business wants to be World Heavyweight Champion. He feels anyone would do what he did in that position.
After the whole group grumbles a bit Superstar speaks up again. He apologizes to Bockwinkel. He says that he has Nick’s back, and hops Nick has his. He says Nick should know that everyone wants to be Champion. Then he tells Bobby he has two options. He can boot Superstar from the Family, or he can manage Superstar to be the next World Champion. Heenan sees the logic in this, and says that Superstar can stay. He instructs every man that they have to be behind all potential Champions in the Family, and that Superstar is to be treated no differently than Nick Bockwinkel, King Kong Bundy, or Missing Link. Bockwinkel shakes Superstar’s hand and wishes him luck.
Killer Kowalski vs. Yuko Eric: Kowalski almost entirely dominated Eric and had him bleeding badly. Eric hit a tackle out of desperation and put Kowalski down for 3.
Nikolai Volkoff vs. Bruiser Brody: A great power match. Both men traded everything they had. The only pin attempt was the one that ended the match after Volkoff hit his BACKBREAKER DROP!
World Tag Team Title Match The Valiant Brothers vs. World Tag Team Champions The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette: Lane got a quick roll up on Johnny before any tags were made. Afterwards Johnny berated Jimmy for not making the save.
Debut Match Diamond Dallas Page vs. Iron Sheik: This is our first look at this up and comer named DDP. He’s a bit old for a rookie, but we understand he’s been making quite a name for himself in the independents and our developmental territory. His finisher, The Diamond Cutter, is apparently something to behold. It looks like he has a ways to go, however, as Iron Sheik put him out in the CAMEL CCLUTCH without Page landing a move.
Backstage Nick Bockwinkel and Cowboy Bob Orton are seen planning something in private. All that can be heard is Orton telling Nick, “I’ll take care of it, boss.”
Street Fight S.D. Jones vs. Justin Credible: Jones quickly got revenge over Justin with a power body slam.
Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan vs. Bobo Brazil: A hard fought match. Brazil really punished Nick, but he managed a win with his BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER!
Backstage As Heenan and Bockwinkel celebrate in the ring, the screens show Cowboy Bob Orton attacking Masked Superstar in the back. Heenan frantically runs back to break it up, but Orton is gone by the time he gets there. Bockwinkel smiles from the ring.
World Television Title Match Chris Candido with Tammy vs. World Television Champion Iron Mike DiBiase: A quick and successful defense for DiBiase, thanks to his TOP ROPE KNEE DROP!

Card 70: March 15th, Veterans Memorial Auditorium (Des Moines, Iowa)
Yukon Eric vs. Johnny Valiant with Jimmy Valiant: Eric pinned Johnny after a running tackle. Again Johnny berated Jimmy for not making the save.
Backstage Heenan tells Masked Superstar and Cowboy Bob Orton that they can fight tonight, and then he never wants to hear about a problem between them ever again.
Nikolai Volkoff vs. Dan Severn: Severn got the pin after a shoulder slam.
Debut Match S.D. Jones vs. Steve Corino: Our first look at Corino, he came out insulting Jones for having a hardcore match last week. He said he would help Jones make it up to the fans by beating him in a classic, old school match. Corino mostly controlled the match and had Jones in trouble. But a well placed HEADBUTT helped Jones score the win.
Tag Match Billy “Red” Lyons & Red Bastien vs. The Vachon Brothers: Lyons never gets in the match as the Vachons pummel Bastien. After Butcher pins Red with his HANGMAN the Vachons attack Lyons, then repeatedly double team Red. Red Bastien is hurt for 4 cards.
Debut Match Iron Sheik vs. The Crusher: Sheik was controlling the match, so the hero of Milwaukee took it to the floor and out brawled the Sheik. The match ended in a count out on Crusher as Sheik rolled back in to save himself.
World Television Title Match The Sheik vs. World Television Champion Iron Mike DiBiase: The Sheik dominated the Champion but was disqualified for using his FIREBALL!
Cowboy Bob Orton vs. Masked Superstar: Orton quickly got the win with his SUPERPLEX!
United States Heavyweight Title Match Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan vs. United States Heavyweight Champion George Hackenschmidt: A great battle. Nick’s cunning and Heenan’s conniving weren’t enough to get past the RUSSIAN BEAR HUG!

Card 71: March 22, Omaha Civic Arena (Omaha, NE)
We see Bobby Heenan backstage at the start of the show. “Listen up you humanoids. Tonight you will see the beginning of the Heenan Family’s utter domination of the LWF. First of all I have signed the Vachons. And after they utterly destroyed Red Bastien last week I have secured for them a match to become number one contenders for the World Tag Team Titles. But that’s not all. Tonight one of the Heenan Family will go up against Mike DiBiase for the World Television Title. Who will it be? Bundy? Orton? Hahaha… I’m not going to tell you. And don’t forget, next week my man Masked Superstar will be up against Argentina Rocca for World Heavyweight Title. That’s right; the Heenan Family can’t be stopped. Everybody better get outta our way.”
Yukon Eric vs. Jimmy Valiant with Johnny Valiant: Eric made quick work of Jimmy with a bear hug. Johnny seemed quite happy that his brother had tasted defeat.
Debut Match S.D. Jones vs. Don Muraco with Lou Albano: Captain Lou is back to make a serious stab at LWF glory. He discovered his newest charge, muscle man Don “The Magnificent” Muraco, in a Hawaiian wrestling league. Muraco looked tough and punished Jones, but a swinging neckbreaker did him in.
Junior Heavyweight Match Danny Hodge vs. Gorgeous George with Cherie Dupree: The LWF is proud to welcome collegiate standout and Olympic Silver Medalist Danny Hodge. Hodge has requested the LWF start a Junior Heavyweight Division. The League has told him that if he can display compelling Junior Heavyweight wrestling, they will give recognition to a Junior Heavyweight Title Belt. So Hodge has decided to take on the best of the LWF’s smaller competitors. This is also our first real look at Gorgeous George in sometime. As Cherie sprays down the ring George is throwing golden bobby pins to the crowd, not taking Hodge seriously at all. He soon did, however, as the match was a furious mat competition. Both men traded holds and even finishers multiple times. George used his Georgie pins to get the advantage and bloody Hodge, but Hodge kept coming and after three attempts scored the pin with his OKLAHOMA SIDE ROLL! If this is the future of LWF Junior Heavyweight Wrestling, then the future looks bright.
Dan Severn vs. Cowboy Bob Orton with Bobby Heenan: Orton has been a bull in a china shop lately. Let’s see if his ruthless aggression can stop Dan Severn. It seems so. Orton used his SUPERPLEX to beat Severn and made it look easy.
World Television Title Match Rick Rude with Bobby Heenan vs. World Television Champion Iron Mike DiBiase: Heenan surprised everyone by signing Texas sensation “Ravishing” Rick Rude before he debuted. DiBiase looks to be getting frustrated before the match starts as Rude spends a great deal of time posing and even trades a kiss with a ringside cutie. Look at Rude’s tights. This guy looks like Adonis and his flamboyant tights are covered with pictures of lovely ladies. Finally he’s in the ring and we can get this match going. Once it starts he looks good. When DiBiase manages to get control Rude slips to the floor. DiBiase jumps out at him but catches a blow to the midsection. Rude puts him back in the ring. He hits the swinging neckbreaker followed by his hangman neckbreaker. We’re told it’s called the RUDE AWAKENING. Iron Mike is down for the count and we have a new World Television Champion. Heenan’s master plan is in motion. Rude’s introduction and ring walk were longer than the match.
Tag Team Number One Contender’s Match The Vachon Brothers with Bobby Heenan vs. The Road Warriors with Paul Ellering: Heenan’s plans may be going south as he was not expecting to see the returning Road Warriors. Mad Dog and Butcher don’t seem to upset though, they are ready to go. But it quickly falls apart when Animal beats on both Vachons a bit and gets a surprise pin before Hawk even comes in. One could say that the Vachons were better off without Heenan!
Texas Death Match Iron Sheik vs. The Crusher: Crusher requested this match after last week’s disqualification. He said he wants to show the fans what he’s really capable of. Sheik surprises everyone by coming down with Nikita Breznikov as his second. This match was mostly fought on the floor and Sheik used his loaded boot to blatantly bust Crusher open. Despite Crusher’s multiple escapes from the CAMEL CLUTCH he was finally put down when Sheik loosed his array of suplexes.

Card 72: March 29th, Tulsa Convention Center (Tulsa, OK)
Debut Match Yukon Eric vs. Larry Zbyszko: The debuting Zbyszko weathered the best Eric had and put him down with a PILEDRIVER!
S.D. Jones vs. King Kong Bundy with Bobby Heenan: Bundy powered his way past the tenacious Jones with two separate AVALANCHES!
Junior Heavyweight Match Danny Hodge vs. World Tag Team Champion Stan Lane with Jim Cornette: Stan Lane announced earlier today that since he was already a Champion he would put Hodge in his place about having a new title created. Hodge nearly got the pin with his OKLAHOMA SIDE ROLL in the first minute. He then dominated the rest of the match while just not being able to keep Lane down. Finally, after Lane accidentally got tied in the ropes, another OKLAHOMA SIDE ROLL got the win.
Cowboy Bob Orton with Bobby Heenan vs. Jim Londos: Orton looks to continue his current run by taking down a former World Television Champion. He controlled most of the match and twice connected with his SUPERPLEX! But Londos got in a quick takedown and took the fall by pin. Orton was irate afterwards, but the fans were happy to see the Golden Greek back in action.
World Television Title Rematch Iron Mike DiBiase vs. World Television Champion Rick Rude with Bobby Heenan: Heenan and Rude make a huge ordeal out of Rude’s disrobing and show off the belt. Rude runs down the local crowd and his opponent before the match. Once the match starts he’s all business, but so is the challenger. The match sees both men get bloody. DiBiase escapes the RUDE AWAKENING and Rude escapes the TOP ROPE KNEE DROP, with some help from The Brain. Finally DiBiase gets frustrated after being thrown to the floor and gets disqualified for putting Rude into the post. Rude holds on to his title and DiBiase is heart broken. Heenan quickly gets his man out of the arena.
Tag Team Match The Valiant Brothers vs. The Killer Bees: The Valiant’s looked better as a team than they have in months. They isolated Blair and Johnny got the win after a SPINNING NECKBREAKER! Are they finally getting along again?
Iron Sheik with Nikita Breznikov vs. Frank Gotch: It was all Iron Sheik right from the opening bell. Sheik surprisingly out wrestled Gotch on the mat and threw in some good brawling for good measure. Finally both men ended up on the floor in a brawl. In an act of desperation Gotch nailed Sheik with the ring bell. Sheik wins by disqualification.
Main Event: World Heavyweight Title Match Masked Superstar with Bobby Heenan vs. World Heavyweight Champion Antonino Rocca: This is it. The match we have been waiting for all month. With the Heenan Family seemingly coming apart, can Masked Superstar unseat Argentina Rocca? Both men have come to the ring, and we’re ready for the announcements. Let’s go to Gary Michael Cappetta.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is sanctioned by the LWF Championship Committee and the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission. Introducing first the manager of the Challenger, Bobby “The Brain” Heenan. And the Challenger. He is a member of the Heenan Family, and hails from Atlanta, Georgia. He weighed in tonight at 269 pounds. Ladies and gentlemen, Masked Superstar.” Superstar gets a mixed reaction. I think some of the fans think he’ll turn on the Heenan Family tonight.
“And his opponent, from Buenos Aires, Argentina, he is the reigning and defending Heavyweight Champion of the World. He weighed in tonight at 225 pounds. The LWF is proud to bring to you Antonino “Argentina” Rocca!” The Champion gets some thunderous applause and the fans just love to be entertained by this man.
The bell rings and both men tie up. Superstar wins the tie up and locks on a reverse chinlock. He tries to lift the champ but Rocca escapes and drops behind him. Superstar blocks a chop. Rocca escapes a headlock. And now Superstar is hit by a series of flying dropkicks. He’s down, and Rocca locks on a bow and arrow. Superstar grabs the ropes and the referee calls for a break. Rocca breaks clean. He drops Superstar with an ankle scissor, then switches to a body scissor and does some damage. He’s got it locked on nice and tight. Superstar finally escapes. Rocca goes for another ankle scissor but Superstar stops him with a hammer blow to the back. He puts Rocca to the turnbuckle and follows him in with a shoulder block. Rocca is stunned and Superstar applies a sleeper. This could be a set up for his COBRA HOLD! He releases the hold and hits a head butt. He follows with a body slam. Rocca stands up into another body slam. And Superstar pulls him up into another head butt, and then locks back on the sleeper. He keeps Rocca in the sleeper for a good long time. He’s wearing him down good. Finally, he releases and hits another body slam to put Rocca on the mat. Another head butt. Superstar sure is taking his time before going for a finish. And finally he locks on the COBRA HOLD! Rocca is squirming! He gets his feet out from under him and grabs the bottom rope with his foot. Superstar pulls him back into the center of the ring and keeps that COBRA HOLD locked on! Rocca powers his way out and drops to the mat. Superstar looks like he’s going to step on Rocca’s neck, but Rocca trips him up with a free hand. More flying dropkicks and Star is down, and Rocca’s going up. Masked Superstar gets to his feet but catches a flying forearm. He reels back and gets tangled in the ropes. Rocca wants to get on him but the referee holds him back till Superstar can get loose. A body press from the champ connects. And gain a series of flying dropkicks and Rocca goes for the pin! 1 count only! Rocca’s going back up. Superstar’s to his feet. Rocca dives, but Superstar pulls the referee in between them and all 3 men come crashing down. Rocca covers Superstar! There’s no referee but the champ has him. This should be over. Rocca’s getting frustrated. He goes to the referee and tries to revive him. The ref’s back up and Rocca focuses back on Masked Superstar. Flying head scissors! And Rocca hits a chop. And he goes for the ankle scissor again but Superstar just stomps him. A reverse chin lock by Superstar, he’s trying to get refocused. A snap mare by the challenger. And another. And Rocca slips away as Star goes back to the chin lock. Rocca slaps Star’s face with his foot! He throws a kick toward Superstar’s leg but it’s blocked. Masked Superstar throws Argentina to the corner. He charges in shoulder first. The champ rolls out of the way and the challenger’s shoulder collides with the steel. Rocca’s stalking him now. He has him up on his shoulders, ARGENTINA BACKBREAKER! Heenan’s got the referee occupied! Rocca breaks the hold to see what’s going on. Heenan turns his back on the referee now and Rocca goes back on the attack. But he may have lost his opportunity. He runs at Superstar and connects with a flying head scissor. Superstar is down and he’s rolling out of the ring. Rocca follows him out. He puts Superstar head first into the steps. The referee is warning him but he shoves off the referee and drags Superstar back in the ring. The champion is hot. He’s back up the turnbuckle. He dives! Superstar is flat on the mat but he gets a boot up and catches Rocca in the face. COBRA HOLD! Rocca’s to close to the ropes. Superstar puts a foot on the champion’s throat and uses the ropes for leverage to choke him. He picks him up and drops him with a body slam. And he’s back on the COBRA HOLD! Superstar wants to end this match now. Rocca slips free but is rocked by a head butt. Superstar throws a forearm but Rocca blocks. He’s into the air and wraps the challenger up in a victory roll, but Superstar’s out before a count of one. Now Rocca locks on a crushing body scissor. He lets him loose and tries another victory roll, but again Superstar quickly escapes. Both men are up and Rocca hits an open hand chop. He tries for an arm lock but Superstar escapes. A snap mare takes Rocca over. Superstar charges with a double sledge and Rocca sidesteps him. He throws his legs up and again applies a crushing body scissors. He drives the wind out of Superstar and again climbs the ropes. He connects with a huge splash. It can’t last too much longer. Rocca’s got him up again, ARGENTINA BACKBREAKER! Superstar gave up! He gave up! Rocca retains the World Heavyweight Title! That was a classic, folks. Superstar proved something to me tonight. That was anybodies match for a long time.

Card 73: April 5th, America West Arena (Phoenix, AZ)
Debut Match Larry Zbyszko vs. Danny Doring: Doring comes to us from the Ohio territories. We’re told he’s quite colorful. Zbyszko made a good showing in his debut; let’s see if Doring can handle him. Doring proved tough and even survived one PILEDRIVER, but the second did him in.
Debut Match King Kong Bundy with Bobby Heenan vs. Cousin Luke: Bundy completely dominated the barefoot brawler from Tennessee. As he moved in for the kill, Luke threw him to the corner. Bundy got a taste of his own medicine with a big splash in the corner, followed by the HILLBILLY DROP for a defeat at the hands of the newcomer.
Junior Heavyweight Match Danny Hodge vs. Mad Dog Vachon with Bobby Heenan: Although he has competed at the heavyweight level for some time, Mad Dog does come in under the 225 pound Junior Heavyweight Limit established by the League. Heenan is therefore unleashing him on Hodge. Although Mad Dog unleashed a brutal attack, Hodge stayed with him and scored a quick pin with the OKLAHOMA SIDE ROLL!
World Television Title Match Iron Mike DiBiase vs. World Television Champion Rick Rude with Bobby Heenan: After last match’s disqualification ending, the league is giving you this match one more time. This time it went quick. DiBiase poured on the speed and used a crossbody from the top to get a pin before Rude or Heenan could respond.
Interview Nick Bockwinkel is scheduled to be interviewed by Bill Apter. He and Heenan come out and run down Rikidozan for taking so much time off for his injuries. Rikidozan surprises Bockwinkel and the crowd by reappearing. As he’s coming toward the interview area Cowboy Bob Orton and King Kong Bundy ambush him. They triple team him with Bockwinkel and leave him lying in the aisle.
Tag Match The Road Warriors with Paul Ellering vs. The Valiant Brothers: This is the Road Warriors’ last regular match before their title opportunity next week. The Midnight Express with Cornette join Joey Styles at the announce booth before either team comes down. During the match Lane gets into a shouting match with Hawk, allowing Johnny to choke Animal with the tag rope and Jimmy to put him away with a SUPER ELBOW!
Main Event: Number One Contender’s Match for the United States Heavyweight Title Jim Londos vs. Iron Sheik with Nikita Breznikov: Sheik has really been on a roll. But Londos reestablished himself last week. Who will go on to face Hackenschmidt? We won’t find out tonight. These two went at it pretty good on the mat but it all broke down on the floor in an all out brawl. Chairs, ring bells, and ring steps all came into play before both men were disqualified.

Press Release: April 7th The League and World Heavyweight Champion Antonino “Argentina” Rocca held a press conference today. Rocca stated that in order to foster greater competition he would defend his Title in a 64 man Tournament starting the first week of May.
League Officials stated they would sanction this action and laid out the ground rules. Rocca’s mandatory Title defense for April is suspended, but Rocca must compete at least twice in April. After next week’s World Tag Team Title Match all Tag Division matches will be suspended as to give normally tag exclusive wrestlers the opportunity to build some singles wins. United States and World Television Title matches in April will go ahead as planned.
The first week of May all wrestlers will be seeded in a 64 man bracket. Rocca will automatically receive the first seed, with the United States Heavyweight Champion receiving seed 2 and the World Television Champion receiving seed 3. All other wrestlers will be seeded based on their rankings as of the last week of April. All matches until tournaments end will b tournament matches. Rocca will remain World Heavyweight Champion until the finals. The winner of the final round match, if not Rocca, will be named the new Champion. Should Rocca loose in an earlier round the wrestler who eliminates him will not have claim to the title, unless he also makes it to and wins the final round.
Next week’s regular event from San Jose will be an extra long show and it is expected wrestlers will be frantically attempting to build wins before May. The League is considering some extra touring dates in April to give everyone ample opportunity. Finally, the Championship Committee thanks Antonino Rocca for his selflessness in the name of competition and wishes the entire roster luck.

Card 74: April 12th, San Jose Arena (San Jose, CA)
Welcome everyone to LWF Wrestling and our amazing super show tonight. We have FOUR huge main events planned for you tonight to set the stage for the upcoming tournament.
First Rick Rude and Mike DiBiase will meet one last time for the World Television Title in a Last Man Standing Match. The League as added another stipulation, the looser can not fight for the TV Title again until August.
Secondly The Road Warriors will challenge The Midnight express for the World Tag Team Championship.
Jim Londos and Iron Sheik will meet again to see who will challenge for the US Title, but this time they’ll meet in a steel cage.
And in our spectacular main event: Rikidozan will fight injured and has brought back former World Champions Antonio Inoki and Giant Baba, both students of his. They have challenged Nick Bockwinkel to get two partners and meet them in a Six Man Tag Team Match!
The Crusher vs. Nikolai Volkoff with Nikita Breznikov: Volkoff got a quick pin on The Crusher.
Don Muraco with Lou Albano vs. Jim Brunzell: The HAWAIIAN HAMMER earned Muraco his first win in a quick match.
Steve Corino vs. Billy Lyons: Corino said he was happy to be facing a real wrestler in a real old school wrestling match. He’d regret that statement after repeatedly being locked in the SLEEPER HOLD and FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. He finally tapped out after much struggling.
Youssuf Ishmaelo vs. S.D. Jones: Jones fought hard, but The Terrible Turk poured on the power moves and brawled his way to an advantage. The Turk then applied a hold, some would say a STRANGLEHOLD, and quickly made Jones tap. The referee allowed the move, but some fans are wondering.
Diamond Dallas Page vs. The Missing Link with Bobby Heenan: This is the Dallas Page we’ve heard about. After the Missing Link started strong Page hit his DIAMOND CUTTER out of nowhere. Page then went on to dominate the match. A second Diamond Cutter should have sealed the deal, but Heenan interfered, which was enough to get some fans chanting for DDP. After further wearing down of Link, Page hit another DIAMOND CUTTER and took the win. Fan response was good; this Page may be a player.
Larry Zbyszko vs. Konnan: Konnan comes to the ring to one of his new songs. He returns to face the hot newcomer Larry Zbyszko. Zbyszko matches up well with Konnan, but Konnan soon has the advantage and Larry barely escapes a TEQUILA SUNRISE! Going to the floor, Larry is disqualified for throwing Konnan to the steps. Not how Konnan wanted to win his return match.
Cousin Luke vs. Killer Kowalski: Big Luke faces his toughest challenge yet in the form of the brutal Kowalski. Kowalski, however, hasn’t really lived up to his potential yet and has only wrestled sporadically in the League. Luke quickly blew past Kowalski and got the win with his HILLBILLY DROP!
Junior Heavyweight Match Danny Hodge vs. Sabu: The crowd was amazed to see the Homicidal Madman return to answer Hodge’s Junior Heavyweight Challenge. Sabu gave Hodge a run for his money and dragged the match to the floor. Hodge made it back in before the count and won by count out.
World Television Title Last Man Standing Match Rick Rude with Bobby Heenan vs. World Television Champion Iron Mike DiBiase: This match showed why this series has been so good. Both men traded even the whole match. As they both used their best attacks it was anyone’s match right to the end. DiBiase got the 10 count after wearing Rude down with a sleeper. And although Rude won’t be fighting for the TV Title anytime soon, these two are now 2-2 against each other. The fans will want to know who is better somewhere down the line.
World Tag Team Title Match Road Warriors with Paul Ellering vs. World Tag Team Champions The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette: A hard fought battle, but the Road Warriors came up short. Eaton pinned Hawk after a swinging neckbreaker.
United States Heavyweight Title Number One Contender’s Steel Cage Match Jim Londos vs. Iron Sheik with Nikita Breznikov: An amazing blowout. Sheik hit a kick with his loaded boot, smashed Londos’ head into the steel, then made his escape in what has to be the shortest cage match we’ve ever had!
Main Event: Six Man Tag Team Match Rikidozan, Antonio Inoki, & Giant Baba vs. Nick Bockwinkel, Cowboy Bob Orton, & Harley Race with Bobby Heenan: What blockbuster teams that have been assembled for this match. We have four former World Heavyweight Champions in the ring. The match saw some great action. Antonio Inoki was dominated by Nick Bockwinkel for most of the match. It seemed the bloody Inoki would easily go down. But he finally managed a comeback and tagged in Rikidozan. The crowd got what it wanted as Rikidozan and Bockwinkel did battle for the remainder of the match. After much punishment Rikidozan pinned Bockwinkel after some overhead chops.

Card 75: April 19th, Boston Garden (Boston, MA)
Don Muraco with Lou Albano vs. Konnan: Muraco manhandled Konnan but was surprised by a sunset flip which set up the TEQUILA SUNRISE and a win for the Luchador.
Nikolai Volkoff with Nikita Breznikov vs. Cousin Luke: The big hillbilly was finally brought down by a brutal assault by Volkoff. After dropping Luke’s throat across the ropes Nikolai got the pin.
Youssuf Ishmaelo vs. Billy Lyons: The Terrible Turk continued his brutal ways by brawling with Lyons all over the ringside area. He got the win after a falling body slam. After the match he made a hand symbol for money.
Junior Heavyweight Match Justin Credible vs. Danny Hodge: Hodge seems to have to deal with a lot of the representatives of the hardcore style in these Junior Heavyweight Matches. Hodge dominated the early going, but Credible soon took over. Having the advantage, Justin hit three strait SINGAPORE CANE shots and was finally disqualified after the third.
World Television Title Match Greg Valentine with Lou Albano vs. World Television Champion Iron Mike Dibiase: Valentine is back as a surprise challenge to DiBiase’s TV Title. These surprises don’t fair well for the champ as Greg quickly had him tapping to the FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK. Albano pulled off the upset and gets his first taste of gold.
Diamond Dallas Page vs. Masked Superstar with Bobby Heenan: Heena is giving another family member a shot at DDP. Superstar seems to have at least garnered some respect from his strong showing against Rocca last month. Both men come up with lots of counters before Superstar starts giving page some punishment. But a quick crossbody after being thrown to the ropes surprises the Masked Superstar and gets the win for Page.
Non Title Match Frank Gotch vs. World Heavyweight Champion Antonino Rocca: Gotch asked for this friendly exhibition match against The Champion. Rocca agreed to make it one of his matches for the month. Both men start this exhibition by shaking hands. Both men try fighting their type of match, but it’s Gotch who dominates. Surprisingly he’s throwing some really stiff shots and even resorts to tossing Rocca to the floor. The Champion escapes the dreaded GOTCH TOEHOLD once but finds himself in it again and has no choice but to tap. What’s this? Gotch isn’t letting go. He’s tearing The Champion apart with his finishing hold. Rocca is screaming in pain. The referees finally get the hold broken. They are helping Rocca out of the ring and Gotch has a mic.
“It seems that the Championship committee has all but forgotten about me since the walk out. I’ve been trying to get booked regularly for months. Well, do you take that seriously? I just made your World Champion tap out. I’m the greatest mat wrestler alive today, and you have this acrobat as your Champion. That’s not real wrestling. Well, Frank Gotch is back and he wants his due. I’m a wrestling machine. I beat Rocca once and I can do it again. And anyone who stands between us in the tournament will tap out just the same.”
Main Event: United States Heavyweight Title Match Iron Sheik with Nikita Breznikov vs. United States Heavyweight Champion George Hackenschmidt: An explosive match to be sure. Hackenschmidt and Sheik traded suplexes expertly. But when a suplex wasn’t enough Sheik went for a shot with his boot. He had Breznikov distract the referee to escape a pin. He even had Volkoff attack Hack from behind to no avail. The Russian Lion endured it all and kept coming. In the end it was pure wrestling; expert takedowns leading to the CAMEL CLUTCH that made Sheik the new United States Champion!
