GWXplosion Card 1, from the Deneb Armoury
Lorelei over Nightmare Nikki by MATERNAL RAGE The bizarre Nikki unnerved the Deneb crowd with her "vampiric ways", and proved to be a very dangerous foe for the former GWF Women's Champ. In the end, Lorelei barely edged out after nailing her finisher.
The Legacy over Dark Star Creature by INNER PEACE This was another close battle, with The Legacy quietly putting together an excellent debut victory. During the match, the disturbing Symbiote (not slated to wrestle tonight) was seen from a rafter watching The Legacy and twirling his menacing curved knife.
Hegemony over Plethador by MAINSTREAM Plethador was unable to mount a serious threat to Hegemony, who took care of business and then grabbed a microphone and began berating the Deneb crowd for "thrilling to the base entertainment pleasures of professional wrestling", instead of respecting it as a serious cultural tradition. He carried on for at least five minutes, and had to talk louder and louder, as the Denebians began booing loudly.
The Bomb over Ensor by gutbuster drop Perhaps a sign that he is fully recovered from knee injury and GWF-bound, The Bomb was able to overcome his singles wrestling shortcomings and ward off a very sharp-looking Ensor.
Slegend over Morbid by SHATTERING DEVASTATION Much hype is circulating the wrestling scene about Morbid, and he lived up to it -- until the gritty Slegend nailed his finisher three times in a row and scored the win. Morbid was clearly frustrated afterwards, and strode out angrily cursing at himself.
Overtime over Gryt by THE CLINCHER The most-hyped GWX participant made an immediate splash before he even wrestled. Overtime was announced by former Fighting Titan and Gravity Ball phenom Quasar. Quasar said he was proud to see a fellow two-sport athlete make a run at the GWF, and wished him well. Overtime seemed disinterested but kept quiet....until Quasar closed off with:
Quasar: "And if you ever need a little advice, you can always count on Quasar...." Overtime: "What?" Quasar (hesitantly): "I mean....I've been down the road, man. I know where you're headed, what you've done....." Overtime: "You're joking, right? You're telling -me- this? What exactly have you done that I need to get advice about?" Quasar (looking around uncomfortably): "Overtime....c'mon...." Overtime: "As far as Gravity Ball....no offense, man, but I surpassed you in like my 3rd year. Nobody talks about Quasar anymore, they talk about me. And wrestling? You won the Interstellar Championship. If I want advice on how to peak by winning a middle-road title, I'll come to you." Quasar (getting angry): "I came here out of respect for Lord Nexus....I came here to help you get over with the fans...." Overtime (laughing): "Hey Deneb -- do I need help getting over with the fans here?"
The crowd loudly cheered for the Gravity Ball superstar.
Overtime: "Let's try a little survey. Did you come here to see former Interstellar Champion and career journeyman Quasar?"
Somewhat surprising, there were more boos than cheers in the crowd.
Overtime: "Or did you come here to see.....OVERTIME?"
Another wild reaction. Quasar shook his head, tossed down the microphone onto the ring, and left.
Gryt came to this match motivated and eager to one-up the newcomer, but Overtime was able to put him away and score a big debut victory.
Doctor Payne and Assassin X over Pride and U.S. Male by CONTRACT KILLING Pride and U.S. Male was a pairing the wrestling world was hearing about, and they looked sharp together, working better than Stars & Stripes had in years. The young braggarts Payne and Assassin X looked even better though. This one went back and forth, until American Guy made a surprise appearance, sauntering to ringside with Phantasy and proceeding to jeer Pride/Male and yelling something about "Gay Pride". He got just enough under the fellow Americans' nerves to enable Payne and X to win.
After the match, a furious Pride launched out of the ring and chased Guy towards the back.

GWF/GWX Newsbreaker
The GWF has reported that Commissioner Massif has been asked to take an "indefinite leave of absence". Information has come in regarding suspicious activity surrounding the recruiting of CPC wrestler Crucible into the GWX developmental league.
The GWF Executive Committee will not address the claims over the past week by Janus the Overman that he held information about some Massif-Crucible 'underhanded relationship', merely stating that the matter is being investigated.
A spokesperson for the GWF President also added, "Crucible, for the foreseeable future, is not welcome in the GWF."
Rumors are circulating that, despite calling attention to all of this, Janus the Overman is angry -- and it is suspected he had been hoping to cash in via blackmail. That matter, too, is under investigation.
And interim commissioner will be named soon.

GWXtermination Card 3, from the Hamal Galactica
Nightmare Nikki over Rotunda by GOTHIC NIGHTMARE -- Nikki's second match went much better than her first, scoring a dominant victory over Rotunda. She is expected to be admitted full-time into the women's ranks of the GWF, perhaps as part of the upcoming Tau Ceti RumbleWars women's battle royal for #1 contention!
Leviathan over Scimitar by LD 50 -- The ominous newcomer from Osiris made mince meat out of Scimitar. Unexpectedly, GWF wrestler Sultana was on hand, backstage, and left the building with Leviathan.
Vin Strutter surprised the crowd by striding out, Tanck behind him. He entered the ring and announced, " This little farm system is a great idea, but it needs an attraction! I am proud to bring to you fine folks the first...of many no doubt....'Beat the Strongman' contests! That's right. If any of you GWX upstarts are brave enough to set foot in the ring with my powerhouse, that is. It's quite simple -- can any of you beat Tanck? 'Beat the Strongman' begins!"
Tanck over Slegend by TANCKED -- Slegend wasted no time rushing down to ringside to enter Strutter's 'contest'. He brazenly attempted his Blindside Splash, but missed, and the veteran Strongman pummelled him for the victory. He yelled, "Who's next?" while Strutter crowed about no one in the GWX being capable of beating a fighting machine like Tanck.
Overtime over The Legacy by THE CLINCHER --Overtime had been furious after losing in the opening round of the title tournament to The Legacy, and this was his revenge. The bold Titan won a hard-fought, gutty victory here. The Legacy offered a handshake after the match, but Overtime wagged a finger at him, flexed and laughed. The Hamal crowd popped big for the Gravity Ball legend.
Hegemony defeated Pride by HEGEMONIC BORDERS --In a battle of the informal top contenders, Hegemony scored an impressive victory. Pride, even in defeat, showed he has some of the highest potential of the GWX roster. Hegemony proceeded to berate the Hamal crowd afterwards, for cheering "gimmicky" wrestlers like Pride and Overtime when they should be supporting a "legit grappler and student of the fine sport" like himself. As is becoming the usual, the crowd booed him loudly.
Big Things beat Doctor Payne and Assassin X by D.Q. -- The Betrayer wanted revenge for losing to Payne on the GWF MegaBrawl card -- and almost got it, had Nurse Elizabeth not intervened. Gryt and Betrayer got into a dispute after the match, prompting Gryt to storm off. In response to that, X and Payne double-teamed The Betrayer! The Surgeon rushed down though and helped even the odds, before security broke things up. Payne pointed at The Surgeon and yelled, " You just made a huge mistake....fraud!"

GWXfactor Card 4, from the Carina Arena
The show opened with Hegemony stalking out to the ring with his personal microphone. " The GWX officials ought to be proud of themselves. They continue to make a mockery out of the fine sport of wrestling. Why? They name Pride the #1 contender after that little battle royal, even though I beat him fair and square already. It's perfectly obvious what's going on here. Favortism."
The crowd booed loudly, but he went on, " They favor a flashy, gimmick wrestler like Pride, and deny a no-nonsense student of the sport like me. They, like all of you here, thrill to the gimmicks, thrill to the base pleasures you feel the sport brings you."
He stalked around the ring a little more, the Carina crowd booing louder. " I'm not about to fight this battle alone. Tonight, I have brought another honorable grappler....a much needed honorable grappler....to the GWX. Tonight, I team with the great veteran Varsity! And Pride -- I will show the fans here and the billions around the galaxy that flashy gimmicks like you don't rise to the top. Not in my sport. Not in the cultural artform that is pro wrestling.
Slegend over Plethador by Slegend Slam The gutty hardcore wrestler simply destroyed the AniMan. Enough said.
Assassin X over The Legacy by CONTRACT KILLING Doctor Payne's personal bodyguard put in a solid showing here to get past The Legacy, who appeared distracted looking around the arena during the match. Is Symbiote getting to him?
Overtime over Symbiote by DQ This was a surprisingly very good match. In the end, Overtime landed his finisher and seemed poised to win, when Nosfera loped down and assaulted him! Security very quickly stepped in, and Omen called off his minion. Overtime slammed his fists on the mat and pointed at Nosfera as Omen led him away.
Cyclone over Dark Star Creature by DQ The GWX brought in former GWF star Cyclone for a tryout, and he looked very sharp in what turned out to be a long, grueling battle with the volatile Dark Star Creature. DSC should have won, but got DQed and restrained after utilizing his finisher.
Leviathan over Ensor by LD 50 Ensor may not be getting in the win column too much yet, but he looks sharp. Simply put, Leviathan looked more sharp. The big man from Osiris has been looking strong, especially after his dominant run during the Tau Ceti BattleWars GWX battle royal. Once again, Sultana met him as he left the ring area, and the two conversed privately.
Americana (U.S. Male and Pride) over Hegemony & Varsity by DAWN'S EARLY BLIGHT This one was short but brutal. Hegemony and U.S. Male pounded each other viciously. Varsity got very limited action in this one, but looked good. In the end, Male and Pride used DAWN'S EARLY BLIGHT for the first time together, and sent Hegemony down for the 1-2-3.
After the match, Hegemony and Varsity assaulted Male and Pride without warning. They pummelled them down. Hegemony repeatedly smacked Pride in the head with his microphone, until security intervened.
Hegemony and Varsity strode off to a chorus of boos. Hegemony yelled, " Class dismissed" before leaving the ring area.

GWXexecution Card 5, from the Bootes Complex
The card began with the announcement by acting GWF Commissioner Raven that the GWF Executive Committee as named former GWF superstar Archon as the interim commissioner of the GWX. Archon came out and promised a "no-nonsense, always fair" approach to upholding the rules of the developmental league.
He said he reviewed Hegemony's complaint about bias in making Pride the #1 contender, and feels it has merit. The crowd booed at this, but Archon didn't seem to even notice. He stated that Pride and Hegemony will meet tonight to decide once and for all who will be the first challenge to Doctor Payne's championship.
Symbiote over Varsity by YOURS IS MINE -- This was a close one, but the wretched Brymstonian scored the victory after a key Varsity mistake. After the match, Symbiote went for his curved blade and made for the recovering Varsity. The Legacy ran down immediately and fended off Symbiote before any damage could be done!
Tristan over Surgeon by Thunder Fire Driver -- Tristan got at least a small measure of revenge on the man who allegedly botched his surgery years ago. This was a very good matchup. Tristan needed his now-famous luck to pull it off.
-- Vin Strutter came down to ringside with Tanck and proclaimed, " Ladies and gentlemen....fine people of Bootes....it is time for the second installment of 'Beat the Strongman'. Last time, we watched as Slegend came up short against the incomparably powerful Tanck. Who dares challenge him next?" -- Ensor strode out to challenge Tanck....and what followed was easily the greatest GWX match to date....
Ensor shocked Tanck in the 'Beat the Strongman' challenge by whirling kick -- Ensor did it! This was a long, evenly-matched battle. Ensor perhaps would have won sooner, had it not been for Vin Strutter calling down Dark Star Creature, who interfered to save Tanck from a pinfall. But Ensor would not be denied, and he won a very gutty, very determined upset! -- After the match, Tanck flew into a rage and went after Ensor, but the Martian wisely left, holding his fists up high.
Morbid over Korsus by Bloody Straight Jacket -- The GWX has given Korsus a probationary contract as well, bringing another former GWFer into the fold. The wild Brymstonian creature proved a formidable challenger for Morbid, but not quite enough. Big win for the extreme warrior.
Doctor Payne and Assassin X over Cuddley Claw & Plethador by Shining Wizard -- The GWX Champion and his bodyguard made easy work of the heavy underdog AniMen. Payne used this match as 'batting practice' to flaunt his abilities. After the bout, he grabbed a mic: " It doesn't matter if it's Hegemony or Pride or, hell, even Monolith...Doctor Payne is going to be your GWX Champion for a very long time. You're looking at a man who survived trapped in a collapsed cave on Europa for 2 months, scraping by with only his wits and resolve. You're looking at a man who braved the storms of Jupiter, survived volcanic devastation on Venus....I've done it all and seen it all. Nobody can hope to stop me."
Pride over Hegemony by PRIDE AND PREJUDICE to retain the #1 contention -- Hegemony came out very strong, with his new partner Varsity encouraging him from ringside. However, Pride kept his hot streak going with a comeback victory that reaffirmed his #1 contention and cemented his showdown with Doctor Payne. -- After the match, Varsity got into the ring and he and Hegemony closed in on Pride. U.S. Male rushed down and awild brawl erupted! However, Varsity's old partner Sabre rushed down and solidly kicked Pride in the groin....then U.S. Male. -- Hegemony pulled out his golden microphone and yelled, " Some of the more important lessons are the ones people don't want to hear. But they need to hear it anyway. You, from here in Bootes to every reach of the galaxy, will come to appreciate the cultural aspects of wrestling! Gimmicky embarrassments like Pride here will NOT succeed. We will not allow it. Varsity and I....with Sabre as our able manager....will bring honor and dignity to a sport so very deserving of it! Even if a back injury prevents Sabre from entering the squared circle like us, she will be there to uphold our mission!"
The crowd booed as the trio left the ring....with both U.S. Male and Pride roiling in pain on the mat.

GWXcellence: SuperCardOne Card 7, from the Aquila Arena
Slegend & Janus the Overman over Plethador & Cuddley Claw by SHATTERING DEVASTATION -- GWF results coming soon to explain why Janus the Overman has added Slegend as the "final member" of The New Citadel. Suffice to say, this matchup was a huge opportunity for the Orion upstart, teaming with a GWF legend. Not surprisingly, this match was all Citadel. Janus barely participated, preferring to let Slegend showcase his emerging skills.
Panther Warrior over Assassin X by JUNGLE NIGHTS -- As expected, Swarm and Antak convinced Panther Warrior to spend some time in the GWX to hone his craft and get some confidence boosting. This match did just that, as the AniMan faced stiff competition from Doctor Payne's righthand man. In the end, it was repeated JUNGLE NIGHTS that sealed the deal for the Warrior.
Morbid over Dark Star Creature by MORBIDLY CRUEL -- Solid, convincing win for the intense loner! Morbid was all business and put away Vin Strutter's prodigy with ease. The crowd went nuts for Morbid.
Hegemony over U.S. Male by MAINSTREAM -- Hegemony may not be able to get the upper hand on Pride, but he exacted some measure of revenge here by putting away U.S. Male decisively. Hegemony won big, then 'treated' Aquila to his usual rants about how fans sully the honorable name of wrestling by thrilling to the 'trashy' elements of the sport.
Symbiote over The Legacy by YOURS IS MINE -- The Legacy controlled virtually the entire match, but misplayed one deathjump and Symbiote landed his finisher for the victory. This feud hasn't gone The Legacy's way, but the stoic warrior kept his cool even in defeat.
Beat the Strongman Challenge #3 -- Vin Strutter led Tanck out and acted as if Ensor had never won the second Beat the Strongman Challenge. He crowed about how no one in the GWX can topple Tanck, and how having such an 'event' on GWX cards is a tremendous honor to the 'upstarts'. An "Ensor" chant started and gained volume as Strutter called out another challenger. -- Amidst a chorus of boos, Scimitar strode down, with a look of apparent confidence on his face. Strutter feigned shock and went on, " My, my....one of my own wrestlers, the young Scimitar, is showing true poise and heart by wishing to challenge his own ally Tanck! This is unexpected, but welcome nonetheless!" -- Scimitar, by his own standards, didn't look bad, but Tanck put him away, as the crowd booed on and on at Vin Strutter's obvious sham of a challenge. At the end, Ensor strode out, changing the reaction to thunderous cheering. -- " Any place, any time, Strutter!" he called out. " I'll take the Strongman Challenge and win again." Strutter went red-faced as the crowd chanted "Ensor!" again and again.
Big Things & Surgeon over TitanGlory & Cyclone by TOTAL BETRAYAL -- Surgeon, Gryt and The Betrayer put together a very effective match here, upsetting the Titans and temporary partner Cyclone. Cyclone continues to look very good in his return to action. Surprisingly, it was Reckless who stumbled and fell prey to Betrayer's arsenal of finishing moves.
Doctor Payne retains the GWX Championship over Pride by KO TEMPLE CLAW -- Pride entered this match with a world of momentum, but simply could not stop the champ. The good Doctor didn't need Elizabeth or Assassin X to assist -- he won this one decisively and cleanly on his own. -- After the match, to a mixed reaction from the crowd, Payne went on with another of his outlandish claims, " Once again I stand victorious, as your GWX Champion. Just as I stood victorious on Chiron during the Obsidian Mine Riots, when I -- all by myself -- warded off murderous rioters....dozens of them. There is simply nothing that Doctor Payne can't overcome. The Doctor is in -- and get used to it."
